I just had a nice chat with Dr. Mary Dan Eades on the fat issue, so be sure to check out my sparkblog!

I have the Protein Power Life Plan book, have really enjoyed reading it and am following (as well as I follow anything) his plan - the most lenient of the three, the "Hedonist" plan I think it's called. It allows for a little extra. I'm in no hurry, I just want to learn the lifestyle....

Between the Dr,.'s Eades and Gary Taubs, it all makes a lot of sense! Haven't read the Primal Blueprint book, although I do have one of his cookbooks here that I picked up at Goodwill.

Loved this blog, especially this: "If you want to reduce the time you spend in low-carb adaptation, crank up the fat." It seems to be so counter-intuitive to Conventional Wisdom, especially weight loss mentality. In fact, my friend was over a few weeks ago and we were paging through one of my Primal Blueprint cookbooks and she was lamenting the amount of fat and calories (since fat has 9 calories per gram while carbs and protein only have 5) in the dishes. I'm glad to be in this school of thought.

I like Dr. Eades' style--I have the Protein Power book but haven't started it yet. My book list always seems to be huge!

Hot Barefeet, thank you so much for posting that article because times are a little rough for me on these first days.

Oh Dear! I guess some people or teams are just really narrow minded, huh? That's too bad.

The Protein Power plan seems to be working well for me, I don't lose fast however on anything, but it's a way of eating that I thinik I can sustain the rest of my time. There's enough leeway for the occasional splurge or wine or whatever.

There's so many programs out there, there is something for everyone!!

Me too. I personally feel that the "everything in moderation" folks use that as an excuse to not give up their processed junk foods to live a healthier life..........

I hope this comment does not get me banned from spark people. I am currently on a 90 day ban from another website I usually frequent for a similar comment.

Thought this was interesting and certainly helpful for those who are trying to break the grain and sugar addiction.
