I want to keep focusing on ST so I can keep the gains I've had with my physical therapy. I'm using 2 lb. weights now with the shoulder I had surgery on. That's a biggy since I couldn't use any weight before surgery. WooHoo!

Well, I managed a structured ST session yesterday. Did Coach Nicole's 20 minute dumbbell workout with 5 lb. weights. I was surprised, it wasn't too hard!

This week my challenge is to record all my reps of strength training. Today I'm doing the weight lifting section of Strength and Core (Stronger Seniors dvd). I'm still not adding any weights, but I'm practicing form and it feels good without damaging my shoulder! That's my plan but I haven't counted the reps yet so I'll have to let you know how it goes.

Good for you, CJ! And you motivated me to do some ST while I watched TV. Overhead dumbbell presses - 4x8x8 lbs. Lateral dumbbell raises - 3x8x8 Triceps dips - 4x8x8
Getting used to these 8 lb. weights - I really can't do many reps! But at least I CAN lift them.

I've got a new Stronger Seniors dvd for Core Strength using a resistance band. I got through the first half today. It's a great workout. (They didn't have a resistance band emoticon so I thought I'd pretend with the jump rope!!)

Just 3x15 reps on each leg of single leg raises. Better than nothing I guess

As my Feldenkrais class did fix everything, or maybe it was the gym class on Friday? I did do my arms ST routine yesterday and feeling fine today
It might fix everything! Wish I had a Feldenkrais class here. But then, I'd have to find time to go... Cardioglide 12x10; thighmaster 8x12 yesterday. Slowest Loser team has a thread "How did you pay the price today?" where you just challenge yourself to do something, ONE thing, that is healthy that you didn't want to do. It's giving me motivation to do just one thing, not always the same...

No singing whatsoever lately, I'm afraid... And no ST either. Preserving my neck and back. I'll resume next week, as I am going to a Feldenkrais class tonight, and hoping it will fix everything

It's on Skype, Lynn - but we haven't done it in a while and I'm afraid I scared her away by mentioning it!
As for ST, I DID some yesterday. My arms routine which is turning out to be 4x10x5 lbs. of dumbbell shoulder presses & lateral raises, plus 4x10x10 triceps dips. Then I got ambitious and did 3 planks, holding each for 30 seconds. That's really my limit. I'm going to try to work up...

I've added a couple of exercises for my lower back into my routine. Physical therapist says I should do this 3 x a week. We'll see! I did the full routine tonight.
I'm curious about you and Claude singing together, Sara. Skype??? Or are you planning another trip?

Be sure to keep neck relaxed while lifting...that trapezius muscle loves to tighten when you raise arms. I had to learn this for singing since tight neck muscles impede the voice. By the way, when are we going to sing again?

Wow for your ST Again another day without. I'm sort of scared as I had really bad stiff neck the other day. Might have overdone it with arms and dumbbelles...
You both are doing well with the ST. I haven't done anything since Tuesday. But next week is a new week...

Good for you for sticking to ST! my record is zero, until today - I've done 8x10 reps on cardioglide and a few cat/camel stretches. Thinking positive about it...it's good to be strong!

Did my core routine yesterday. And the legs today. Have added an extra set to all my routine. The only problem with this is that it takes even more time
Good for you! I did manage ONE bit of ST yesterday - 4x10x10 triceps dips. My arms feel it today too. Used 2 5 lb. weights & did these standing while waiting for my tea to steep... I do get really sick of flabby arms...

I did do Core and Arms while she was on the elliptical. I found that arms were easier than the previous weeks. Am getting used to those four-pound dumbbells, I guess

Well done, Sara! Since Julie came to pedal on the elliptical, while she was doing her thing I went through all my ST routines, core, arms and lower body. It does take time!

Lower body routine. IT was not as boring as usual, because my daughter dropped buy and while I did my strength training, she went on to the elliptical. We decided that we'd try to do that once a week

Did yoga routine with some modifications because of painful SI joint in back so need to ease up on back extensions. Biceps, shoulder, triceps with weights. Quadriceps and hamstring leg lifts.
