By God's grace I am staying off wheat, which helps my digestive system and my cravings. I also have been able to drink all my water every single day of March. Woo-hoo!

Another goal was to step up my effort during strength training. I am doing that and it feels great. Well, except for when it feels really, really sore. But it's getting me to my goals.

I'm concerned about portion control during sanctioned meals. What I'm eating is legal, but might not be optimal for weight loss. We'll see . . .

Spent a good day with the family. We went to visit some new friends and took a long walk through the fields and over the hills. Enjoyed watching the birds excited about spring.
Made our first strawberry salad for the season.
Wishing all of you a great weekend.

Today was my day off from scoring. I still got in lots of movement while gardening, just didn't go to the gym since DD had a dentist appointment mid-morning. I kept to the eating plan for the most part except for one snack and dinner. So, it was my day off. Watched some Dateline with hubby tonight and am heading to bed. Tomorrow is sleep-in day since my swimmer has a cold and we don't have to be at the pool at 7. WooHoo! Then I am hoping for another sunny gardening day. Have a great weekend all!

Well, that was a long stretch for me to be absent...Apologies!! Looks like it's just been MamaSuds and FreeLady for the past few days. I've been dealing with a lot. A car crashed into the house we're trying to sell last weekend so we've been working with our insurance, real estate agent, contractor, etc...Busy, busy, busy. I've been maintaining my weight but not necessarily my habits...and forget about keeping score! I did very well until Saturday though (when I found out about the accident)! Yesterday, I started a nutrition blog, so feel free to check it out if you have time. It's brand new: uncomplicatednutrition.blogspot.com

A few cravings today but I'm staying the course. This bracket of lost-35-to-40 pounds is a turning point for me, and I feel I simply must keep strong and get past this point (where I've crashed and burned at least four times in the last ten years). Okay, I know the strategies, I have tools, I have plenty of support, now to GET THE JOB DONE!

Marching into spring! I marched away on my trampoline today. With it being my teaching day, I have to concentrate on getting all of my 10,000 steps in.
I tried a new recipe again today and it was a hit. It will be added to our family regular menu. It even included beans which is a real big step for me. I'm not big on things that require a lot of plan ahead time. But I did it and they were edible.
What new recipes have you tried lately?

It's the middle of our "GAME" but starting a new month still feels like a fresh opportunity to me. The fatloser.com coaching has challenged me to full compliance and to jettison my excuses. So March 1 means a steely determination to march ahead and just get the healthy behaviors done.

You guys do boost my motivation, and I appreciate it! Having to report here and having to keep my points has been a spur I certainly need!

Computer time has been very limited, but I'm staying focused on my eating plan. A new month tomorrow feels like a new opportunity for 100% compliance. It's scary for some reason, but I'm determined. I do find it helpful listening to fatloser.com.

Missed the gym today. Stayed home to nurse a sick hubby and a sick daughter. I spent some time on the trampoline while listening to my Fatloser clip and then walked for almost an hour while the girls had violin lessons today. I will get in a few more minutes on the trampoline before bed. Meals were okay today with a new recipe to boot.

So glad you were able to welcome spring into your home. That is one benefit of having a birthday at the end of Feb. It is the time when the stores start to come out with their spring flower pots, so I usually get some pretty spring posies. This year was no exception.

I bought a spring bouquet at the craft store---silk, but they look just-picked and so cheerful!

Better points today; good exercise & eating. Still not getting all my water.

Shazamela, good to see you back. I am glad you are feeling better.
Keep up the bed rest and herbal tea until you are 100%. From experience, I know bedrest is my key to getting better. Everyone is a little different. Part of this whole journey is learning to listen to our bodies and know what they need.
March is on the way. Are we ready? I can hardly wait. My girls made me some beaded spring decorations and I am eager to put them out for all to see. How do you welcome spring?

Shazamela, the herbal tea absolutely counts the same as water. But that is a triviality; we are happy to hear from you. I am so very very sorry that it has been such a miserable time. Good thing you had the awareness to stay in bed as much as you possibly could. Getting better is all that matters, and once again, please keep letting us hear from you.

Once again, here I am apologizing for my absence. I've been so sick and completely unable to take any time off work, so I've been going to bed almost as soon as I get home from work and doing little else. Unfortunately that also means I haven't been exercising as I've been sleeping in every day. I also didn't keep up on the water intake, but I have been drinking gallons of herbal tea.

Today was the first day I had a little energy in the morning, so I got up on the earlyish side and went for a short 20 minute run. It felt good, and I've continued to feel pretty good most of the day. Hopefully I'm on the mend. Tomorrow is the day I usually run 4 miles with a group of friends early in the morning, so I'm really hoping I'm up for it--it's one of the highlights of my week.

Thanks for being here, everybody. It helps knowing I have someone to check in with, even if it's been only now and then.

I had a wonderful day off! I hope you did too. We celebrated my 40th birthday at church yesterday. In luie of presents I asked people to bring donations for Operation Christmas Child. By the end of the day, we had a table full of Christmas gifts and a jar full of cash to buy more. So very cool! It was the best birthday I have ever had.
I ate basically healthy, but didn' weigh or count anything. I did not move much either, so exercise was a definate no go. Therefore, a day off.
Today, things are rolling again, though I did give myself another day to enjoy birthday cake. AFterall, it only happens once a year.
Week 2, here we come!
Where do I post my points from last week?

This is feeling like more of a get-up-to-speed week than a full-competing week, but I am keeping up with my points and at least I'm figuring out where my weaknesses are! One slackness is purely focus: I'm missing different things different days, not one consistent pattern. I'm thankful to be in this challenge; it keeps me from sliding into chaos! And I'm gradually getting more consistent.

It is only on my gym days that I get the 120 minutes in, but Friday is usually one of those days. I got 35 in today though, so that is a good Saturday morning habit that is starting to set.

I was getting everything ready for church today and had originally planned to make lots of cookies. But that is my weakness. I eat almost as many as I have left over at the end. Oh, they are so tempting. So, this morning I bought 2 cakes at the store and took them right to the church and dropped them off. Problem solved. No cookie baking for me today! Woo Hoo! I did make lots of other stuff though. I will share the pics tomorrow.

Sleep well and have an awesome Sunday!

MBM, writing is great! It's something I've done off and on but have never been consistent about it...I have a few unfinished journals that are kicking around and I don't know what to do with them. Oh well - I will figure it out some day! Glad you are getting to know yourself better though!

Chelli - I'm impressed that your exercise is usually 120 minutes! That's great!! I wouldn't feel guilty at all if I were you about only getting 20 in today and yes, I do believe that carrying a heavy backpack also counts as exercise. Not sure about the haircuts though. :)

I'm on track (I say this now...) for a 100 point day. I have not even used my 100 kcals yet and I have one meal left. The scale was up .8 today after a day that turned for the worse after dinner, so I'm sure it's that. But hey, I still have a net loss of 2 lbs for the week so far! I'm frustrated a bit as the next couple of weeks, I will be covering an earlier work shift which is actually good in one way because I won't be working 'til midnight on those days. BUT I used to get up at 5am to exercise when I had the earlier shift and I'm not sure I can do that anymore as my internal clock has most definitely switched over to "night owl." I suppose I can do brisk walks on my breaks...or I can try to get my bum out of bed at 5 on those days (and try to go to bed earlier). I'm sure I'll find a solution...but I may not be able to stay faithful to Jillian. :( I've really had to force my workouts now that it's not my 5am routine any more.

Anyway, stay strong ladies! I think we're all doing great!

Hannah

Way to go with the weight loss. So cool! I did clipper cuts today too, so if you find them on the fitness tracker, let me know.

Being on the other side of the world makes doing business a little difficult sometimes. Last night was one of those nights. Hubby was up all night so that he could reach the people he needed to get in touch with. So, after getting the kids off to school and checking my SP, I took a nap with him this morning rather than going to the gym. So, instead of the 120 minutes of fitness today, I only got the 20 minutes on the trampoline, but that is okay. Does carrying dd's schoolbag to and from the bus stop count? That thing weighs a lot! emoticon

Hoping you all have a great Weekend! Here we go!

You are all doing so well! How fun to see the scale move, HannahZoe. Freelady, feeling stable is a great thing, and Chelli, you're doing great too!

I've been writing a LOT this week. Each day has had a writing assignment (good things like articulating where I am now and why I want to change, what motivates me to change, what I truly want my life to be like). I've been writing on penzu.com, a free online journal, apparently it's very secure. I love it. I've kept a diary for many years, and picking out just the right blank book is always fun. But lately I haven't been writing as much. Putting it in writing seems so final, anyone could read it, what am I going to do with all those books anyway? So I'm enjoying the online journal for now. I can even use it at work when I have a few minutes. In addition to the assignments, I've been writing a lot about my relationship issues too and it's been good.

I've been eating more calories than usual, but I have not had an emotional overeating episode so that's good. I weighed myself this morning and my weight was down a couple pounds. I'm trying not to get too hung up on weight or calories right now.

Keep up the good work, everyone!

Well, I don't know what I did to deserve this but after 3 not-so-great days (where eating is concerned) and the scale giving me the same exact number those 3 days, I woke up this morning and I'm 2.8 lbs down!! Yay, me!! I was actually pretty good today - I do keep incurring snacking penalties though...When I'm home, it's more "controlled" though versus at work (with the candy dishes). MamaSuds, sounds like you're doing great! Well, gotta go cut the hubby's hair. I'll check in tomorrow! :)

Gum was a good option for me today, but I will remember those celery sticks and cucumbers. I am so glad that we are able to get celery here now. When we first came to Germany 18 years ago, it was very difficult to find it anywhere. Now I can buy it, but most people still ask me what it is - sometimes even the cashier has to ask me so she can find it on her chart.
Tonight we were out and about at supper time again, but did well. I had the kids pack lunch boxes for in the car and hubby and I got a salad at a café while they were singing at the senior center with their choir. I had a green salad with chicken breast and tomatoes and gave hubby the white toast that came with it. I ordered a hot fruit tea which is a big victory for me. 100% compliance. No one was watching. I didn't have my camera with me. I could have splurged for fried foods and a soda, but I didn't. When I got home, I finished off the meal with a glass of soy milk. Thanks for cheering me on.

MirrorBallMoon, you have been such an asset to our team, and an encouragement to us all! Please do stay right with us and we will be mutually supportive!!

Funny how on the in-between week when we weren't officially keeping points, I felt I was doing so well continuing the behaviors. But these three Game On! days have been quite challenging. Clearly I wasn't keeping up as well as I thought last week!

MBM, I have no problem with that. I know I've had my rough times keeping track of points. Today wasn't so hot for me. I keep returning to the candy dish...I cannot wait until I'm working from home and then it won't be an issue (hopefully I don't find a different weakness in it's place. And of course you can still hang out! :) We love you! :)

Hey there lovely ladies! I have to admit I am not counting points at all right now. I am doing well, eating healthy food, exercising, dealing with emotional eating issues, etc. but I am not counting Game On points. Could I just hang out with you all and cheer you on for this round? I'm not trying to avoid making healthy choices, I'm just trying to cut down on the number of commitments I have running at one time so I can focus on the issues being brought up by the Full-Filled class.

Hi Ladies! Mama Suds, don't forget you can eat an unlimited amount of celery and cucumbers between meals too, so if hunger strikes and the gum isn't cutting it, those are "free" and will not be penalized! MirrorBall, so happy for you that you're looking at the emotional side of eating. It can be a real awakening. I know it has been for me...and I drift back and forth between being very aware and being able to say "no" and divert my attention to something else...and then for a while, I'll lose my awareness and mindlessly go to the candy dish. No more candy dish for me soon though...Just got word that working from home WILL be happening and soon!! FINALLY! I've been doing just "ok". My weight is stable and I'm Ok with that. Sure, I'd love to lose just a little bit more but with my life being so busy and my emotions being so up and down, I'm ok with maintaining. Anyway, back to work for me. Have a good night, everyone! Stay strong!

Today I needed to plan better for an evening away from home. It left me really hungry and wanting to eat all the wrong things.

My renewed strategy for hunger attacks and cravings: gum. So, tomorrow, I put gum in all my coat pockets and in my purse and in the car. Now, if only my kids don't find it.

Feeling pretty tired tonight, so off to bed with me.

Have a great evening!

Hi everyone! Right now I'm focusing a lot on the reasons I want to eat when I'm not hungry. I'm doing a six-week online class called "Full-Filled" that gives "homework" - things you need to write about in your journal. It's all the inside stuff that some people don't need but I do. The writing exercises have been helpful so far and I feel more balanced than I have in a while. I have had 3 days in a row without an emotional eating episode, so that is wonderful!

Woo Hoo! The luck of the draw. I love it! Thanks for taking the time to do that for us.

Ok, my coach says no whining and bellyaching, so I won't tell you that I am HUNGRY!, becasue that would be whining and I need to be tough. So, 100% compliancy to the rules and no pitty parties. Afterall, it was eating when I wasn't hungry that got me here anyhow. I read a book once called the "Underburner Diet" and the author said, "Those aren't hunger pains. Those are fat cells screaming out as they suffer and die!" I just wish when they died, I could see the difference on the scale in the morning. I think I have a whole war zone going on inside of me today.

Day 2 - Success! Come on team, lets go! No pain, no loss ; )

Hannah, I am having a rocky day also. But tomorrow is a new day and a new start! You are smart and strong and I bet you'll come up with one strategy overnight that will make Tuesday an improvement!

The teams are just fine. On to a week of adventure and growth!

Hi Ladies -

I can tell you that today, my head is not in the game...but I remind myself that not every day will be perfect...I won't always be in a great mood and there will be times where I slip up and I don't feel like I care, but those have really been few and far between. Today happened to be one of those days though. My mother-in-law called and I got agitated with her...so I think that's what put me in this mood. I'm trying to snap out of it though and I have faith that tomorrow will be a better day!!

Game On!!

Hannah

Ok...TEAMS:

Team 1: Shazamela, FreeLady, MamaSuds
Team 2: Laurie, HannahZoe, MirrorBallMoon

I drew names...True, Laurie and I are both team leaders, but we're both far from perfect. Nonetheless, if you have concerns about us being on the same team, please speak up and we can change things around.
