That was a great food day for you! Great job with your exercise too!

Hope you got some great rest & are having great fast day!

How old are the boys you babysit?

I started the day strong...5k jog & 1 mile doggie walk...then hit a nursery for some pepper plants...I usually start from seed but the first peppers I planted this year & I really want to figure out what went wrong & don't feel like waiting for seeds to sprout...I got 5 plants for $1.30 but rain started before I got home so I didn't get planted...

Tropical rain from the Bahamas...I couldn't resist s rainy day nap...but up again & going to do some much needed MS!

Have fun babysitting!

Pura Vida!

Wow! That would be stressful being responsible for other people's kids in your boat without an adult. But look at all that great leg work you got in emoticon
Oh my gosh! Watching the boys was the hardest part of fasting! It made me realize how much extra food I shove in my mouth when I'm with them. They want nectarines, and I would normally eat the outside slices with the "skin". Spaghetti? I would taste the sauce and the noodles to make sure they're perfect. Luckily right when they asked if we could go get ice cream their parents called and said they'd be home. So I'm happy to report I stayed in my fasted zone. Tonight at 6 I finished my "feed". Good food day. Salad with lots of veggies and 3 oz of steak oil & vinegar dressing, sliced strawberries and blueberries, then dinner of pumpkin curry and garlic green beans with beef over riced cauliflower and some kombucha emoticon I took my PM vitamins at 6. Now I intend to go until noon tomorrow 18 hours. But if I'm feeling good and not hungry I'll push it to 6 pm or even 6 am Sunday. Sunday wiould make it 36 hours. Which is one of the longer blocks and is supposed to have extra health benefits. And I will be able to enjoy a relaxing Sunday morning with my husband. I haven't been home on a Sunday In awhile. So I'm looking forward to it. I'll let you know how I do.

Today I did 15 min of dancing. 30 min of muscle work and 2 walks with the dog. I'm ready to turn off all my electronics and go to bed. Watching boys tomorrow so I'll need all my energy.

Hope you had a great day! Have a great weekend Mary!

emoticon So glad you're feeling amazing!

Sounds like you have a good plan!

5 miles walking/jogging yesterday and 4 miles paddling! Good thing because I didn't cover any miles today but I probably climbed onto my trailer and into my boat and back down at least 2 dozen times so that must count for something! Son asked late yesterday if he could take some friends out on boat today so my whole morning was devoted to making sure everything is "ship-shape"...it was going to be a flotilla of 3 & son would have 5 on his boat then it changed to 2 boats with 7 on son's boat (our max capacity) then they decided to go to the beach instead! Big relief for me! 1st thing I told son was that I needed a text from each parent that they were ok with their child going out on our boat - well I hadn't received any texts and I would have been regulating who got on board and if I didn't hear from a parent they weren't getting on - and I was only going to have life jackets on board for kids with permission - there are lots of public docks around so I didn't want kids without permission being picked up at another point! Glad I didn't have to be the dock police! And glad son didn't end up in an awkward peer-pressure situation!

Not good nutrition today but only 740 calories and I'm not hungry so probably won't eat more...I'll get back to the veggies tomorrow - this might end up being a 2 or 3 days "on" the veggies then take a break for a day but don't overeat kind of lifestyle for me...

Son just challenged me to a chess game - our new thing so far 1-1 but I have a feeling that 1 I got (our first match) may be my last - he was awfully strong that second match!

How was your babysitting?

Hope you're having a great day!

Pura Vida!

Mary!!!! What a scary experience for you & your son! We leaped into intermittent fasting without planning it out. Started with 2 24 hour fasts in a row. Today at noon we started our feeding period for our 16 hour fast. Which means we ate normal healthy whole food as needed or wanted between the hours of 12-8 pm. It wasn't that easy to get in all my veggies because I was full so fast. Tomorrow we'll do another 16 hour fast only eating between 12-8. Then we need to look at our schedules and decide what will work best for Fri, Sat, & Sun. We want to do two 24 hour fasts per week 2 16 hour fasts 2 18 hours and one feast day. And see how we feel, adjusting as necessary or if needed. If we're feeling good at the end of week one, we'll continue for a second week up to 4 weeks. The ultimate goal will be to incorporate it into our life style and 16 hour daily fasting would become our normal. With 24 hour fasts once or twice a week.

So far I've been feeling amazing and I'm finally able to understand that what I used to think was hunger wasn't really hunger it was mental cravings and a timing habit.

1 walk with the dog today and 30 minutes of muscle structure. Now I'm off to bed. It's our early night.

Yep...the mayo recipe was embedded in the slaw recipe!

What kind of intermittent fast are you doing? You are wise to listen to your bodies. I like that one thing I read on Fung's website was: "Also, if you feel unwell at any point during the fasting, you must stop. You may feel hungry, but you should not feel faint, or unwell or nauseated. This is not normal and you should not attempt to push through. I am not specifically recommending any fasting regimens, only trying to document various fasting regimens in widespread use."

I tried going keto 3 1/2 years ago and almost fainted while driving on a long bridge with my son in the car - very scary - I put flashers on, slowed down and was shaking so badly I told my son he might have to grab the steering wheel - he was 13 then and was cool as a cucumber he said " ok - just tell me when"...so if I ever attempt fasting I won't be driving or operating heavy machinery until I know my body and brain can handle it!

66F and overcast here...love it! I'm heading out for a jog followed by a paddle - it will be 20 degrees warmer by noon!

Have a wonderful Wednesday!

Pura vida!

Mary, I thought I put a link for Cabbage slaw with ginger dressing. So I hope there was just a link in the recipe for her mayo. I LOVE her easy immersion blender recipe. I make it right in the jar, almost no clean up. Even as a kid, my husband hated mayo and wouldn't EVER eat anything made with it. But he will put homemade paleo mayo on his brats and eat anything I make with it. emoticon

I think the fact that you aren't eating processed foods and are getting in lots of veggies keeps your insulin in check and you'll be back at your happy weight soon.

I bought the Dr. Fung's book (but haven't started reading it) because his lecture was so interesting and in a way his theory supports "the golden rule of carbs & fat loss ". That Elizabeth Benton taught me and her belief that calories are not all the same. BUT I (we --my husband too). Are on day 2 of our intermittent fasting experiment. We watched a bunch more lectures and decided to just do it emoticon I need to jump into the OC book and see if there are any suggestions for how to do it, other than the terminology used in the lectures 18, 24, 36 hours and Blocks. 4 days or more emoticon

We both experienced serious mental challenges yesterday, in the form of cravings and obsessing over the thought that it was time to eat. But also both acknowledged that we really didn't experience any genuine hunger pangs. In fact this morning I woke up feeling the most rested that I can remember feeling in years, with tons of energy to get my day going. I broke my fast at the 20 hour mark with Unicorn fuel and then at 12:30 my husband and I had that egg, avocado, bacon, cabbage bowl. I felt stuffed quickly and my brain told me to stop eating. It's been 2 hours and I still feel stuffed. CRAZY! We are also taking these new vitamins from Carlton Nutrition-- He and his wife wrote the micronutrient miracle. So I'm not going to worry about my body missing out on anything. It was $35 for a one month supply for each of us. But when I added up the cost of all my individual vitamins I was saving money. Anyway, we've agreed that if either of us has any adverse issues that we'll stop. Day 2 has me feeling much better than day one. Probably because my mind knows that I've already done it once without a problem. Believe, believe, believe. Anything you believe you can achieve.

Ok. Gotta get a walk with dog in. I'm babysitting this afternoon for 6 hours. That has me more scared than the idea of fasting emoticon

Hey Everyone!

Marki - I had a "me day" today. So I tracked and prepped all of my food and hit my nutrition goals with 1000 calories. Trying to stay around 1200 per day.

And I finally watched the Jason Fung video - very interesting! Something I will certainly consider if I don't see weight loss by going back to the methods I used 3 years ago (pretty traditional calorie in/calorie out but focusing on carbs from whole fruits and veggies - pretty much no grains - macronutrients around 35 fat, 30 protein, 35 carb and hitting some micronutrient goals - mainly fiber and potassium).

Are you fasting?

Thank you for the mayo recipe! I was just thinking today that I need something I can sub for the store-bought mayo I've been using for cabbage slaw and for chicken and tuna salad that I've been putting on my giant bowls of greens! I will probably make the mayo tomorrow - but probably a smaller batch - I'll let you know how it turns out!

Walked 3+ miles this morning. Heading to the grocery and the library to get the Wahls book now! Then when the sun gets a little lower and the tide starts coming back in I think I'll go for a kayak paddle.

I'm feeling much better about being able to "just say no" to the bad things lurking in my kitchen - the worst being pretzels that I keep on hand for son - for months I've been snacking on them almost daily but today I feel like I've finally found the " that is not an option" mentality that I had before!

So I think I'm ready for a fitness goal - 35 miles a week - can be a combo and walking/running/kayaking and 90 minutes of some kind of MS a week. Those should be both be doable!

Hope you enjoy the rest of your Tuesday!

Pura vida!

I think you've figured out the secret Mary. Paying attention to your own body and learning what works for you. I've had a busy cleaning day, which means my TV has been playing YouTube Educational videos so I can learn and clean. Today it was more about reinforcing what EB has taught me -- insulin is key to controlling fat loss and weight gain. Dr Jason Feung -- might be spelling that wrong was my favorite. He's written the Obesity Code. He discussed why Calorie counting and Calories in Calories out don't work. Loved him.

Today I made a yummy cabbage salad with ginger dressing. And added roasted pork. I could eat it every day. nomnompaleo.com/post/3955306349/red-

Unicorn Fuel works better at satisfying me than regular BP coffee. I'm trying fat fasting in the morning again.
I'm happy with everything I ate but it was not a perfect Wahl's day. Since I had lots of sulfur veggies and color but not enough leafy greens.

Ok I'm off to bed. Gotta be up at 4;30 have a great weekend!

Unicorn coffee - haha - I tried the bulletproof coffee but I'm not much of a coffee drinker so it didn't really work for me

so I think I'm on day 7 of trying to get back to Wahls - I'd say so far I've had 2 goods , 2 so-so days and 2 bad dasy...so far not good today -but the day's not over so I can change that right now - right!? - as soon as I finish this post I'm going to make a fruit and veggie smoothie!

that cabbage breakfast sounds great - I have all of those things in my fridge so I think I'll do that for lunch today after my smoothie!

when I did Wahls before I counted brussels sprouts, cabbage, collards, kale, etc as sulphurs - I never bought the book - I checked out of library - I think I should check it out again!

OK - time to go - hopefully I'll get some exercise today - need to set a goal in that department too but want to get the food on track first!

Have a great day!

Pura vida!

Mary, YES PLEASE! I need accountability!!! Just look at this. Today is already Thursday, and I'm just checking back in. emoticon

Knocking out veggies in your first meal sounds awesome! My favorite "real" breakfast lately has been --- now it's going to sound weird, but I promise it tastes yummy. lol. -- Chopped green cabbage, avocado, 2 eggs, and two pieces of bacon. All chopped up and mixed together. It's kind of creamy, salty crunchy all at once. It really feels me up. But Im back to having Unicorn fuel (AKA Bulletproof (MCT oil & grasped butter) Coffee with maca powder, cinnamon, turmeric, pinch of cayenne. and cacao) I actually really like the taste much better than plain BP coffee and it fills me up longer.

I haven't had a single "perfect" Wahl's day, but I'm making progress. Sulfur veggies are the hardest for me. Do you remember if brussel sprouts and other cruciferous veggies count as suffers or was it just mushrooms, onions, and garlic. I misplaced my book in the move and need to find it.

Snails!! Ugh! How icky. That would make me so mad! They're so hard to get rid of too!. Those raised boxes would definitely help I think, At least they said, they were made of cedar or something that was a natural insect deterrent.

I would love to grow tomatoes. My nieces grows them, and shares them with me, because she has so many, and they taste absolutely AMAZING. Nothing at all like the bland blobs they sell at the store. Does your home grown lettuce taste better than the bland store bought stuff?

I'm looking forward to having Wahl's veggies be a habit again. Even the limited progress I've made so far has made a difference in my energy and sleep.

Well, Happy Thursday! I've been up since 3 a.m. -- on purpose to make my husband breakfast. He leaves for work at 4:30 a.m. I had my Unicorn fuel coffee at 4:00 with him and have been catching up cleaning. Now I'm heading out for a walk with our dog.

Today's fitness goal is 30 minutes of Tracy. Still at Meta level 2.

Happy Sunday!

I never got around to my weeding on Friday (kiddo asked for "mom food" as I was heading out)...but spent 3 hours out there this morning while it was still shady...weeding and snail removal...these tiny snails are my nemesis - they're smaller than the diameter of a pencil but there are so many of them! - at least they're easy to catch! I'll have to look for those Costco boxes next year - bet that would help with my snail issues!

Can't believe it's already been a year since you moved back to CA - I know you and doggie are enjoy those breezes and I'm so happy that CA has gotten rain this year! Last year you couldn't have even considered a garden. This is the first time in probably 10 years that I've planted in the ground...for years I grew tomatoes and cucumbers and herbs in containers and last year I added lettuces...maybe you should start with a couple of pots?

OK today is day 3 of Wahls veggies and I already feel better (even though I didn't eat all of the sulfurs that I should have yesterday)...

I just finished my first meal of the day - brunch with lots of veggies - mushrooms, onions, cabbage, carrots, beets - best for me to knock of as many veggies as I can with the first meal - I tend to get lazy about preparing food for myself later in the day - but instead of grabbing a handful of pretzels during lazy time I've started grabbing a few nuts and a little grass-fed cheese (Comte from costco), then if I still have the munchies I'll either get out of the house or make myself big salad...that's my plan anyway! always easier said than done!

Want to be accountability buddies again? I fell off the food wagon last July when I spent a week in a hotel in Louisville with son's basketball team and haven't been able to get my mojo back since - weird considering I did so well for 2 years - but not really that unusually I guess.
So I'm 10 lbs over the weight that I "hung out" at for 2 years. Could be worse - but 10 lbs makes me go up 2 full clothing sizes so I've got some cute board short that I'd like to wear when I paddle my kayak but they are way too tight and I refuse to buy bigger ones. Right now I'm wearing a couple of pair from my larger days - they are too big but at least they're comfortable!

Ok time to get moving again - Off to the garden I go...have a wonderful day!

Pura Vida!

Yeah Mary! I've missed you! I'm so sorry about your dog. Thank goodness his sense of smell still works. I think your little guy it's the perfect example of how we should all keep our perspective on what we CAN do.

You're so right. I have never felt better than when Wahl's veggies were a daily habit. I'm working on getting back to that too.

All your outdoor activity sounds fabulous! I love that you have a veggie garden. I saw these raised planting boxes at Costco and wanted to buy them to plant some veggies of my own, but when I talked my husband into it they were sold out. I didn't realize what a great deal they were until I looked for them online. Yikes they were twice as much. My husband was a firm no at that price. Boo! We've been back in CA for a year now and I haven't joined a CSA or been to a farmers market. Luckily I can walk to Mother's market and it has organic veggies at great prices. Well much better than Whole Foods.

I'm so happy that I'm working out with Tracy again. But I must confess I started mixing in some "extras" too to keep me on my toes. Double daily walks with my furry guy are still mandatory but soooo much nicer now that we can enjoy an ocean breeze while we walk.

Oh and thanks! My nephew was called up about two weeks ago now to help fill in while another player recovers from an injury. His mom & sister got to sit in the owner's box on Mother's Day. It was a special day for all of them. Keeping our fingers crossed his time continues to get extended. He's such a great kid -- ha! Young man.

Well hope you've had a beautiful day and have another one tomorrow!

Hey team!

Marki - it was so great hearing from you today! Congratulations to your nephew!!!!

I read back through the last few weeks posts and seems like we've both been battling some poor choices that end up making us feel bad. Weird how we let ourselves do that when we both know better! Can't change yesterday but you helped me do better today! After hearing from you I started thinking about the "old days" when I had my "A game". I think the best I ever felt was when I was doing the veggie portion of Wahls protocol - so I started today! 3 cups of sulfurs, 3 cups of green leafy and 3 cups of colorfuls everyday for 10 days! Excited to see how I'll feel on May 23! And back to tracking food so I know I'm getting enough fiber and potassium - when I make poor choices I know those 2 things (among others) are low.

Exercise for me these days is mostly walking and kayaking with a little jogging thrown in. Need to work on that too but for now I'll focus on food - the good food will hopefully give me more energy and make me want to do some more intense workouts! Still walking my little pooch Harry a bunch and he still loves it but sadly he went blind a couple of months ago ): - but his sniffer and ears still work so he still has a waggy tail and loves to retrieve his toys!

OK time to go weed my little veggie garden - it was on my to-do list for today but I used the bright sunshine as an excuse and put it off until it was shady out there - well it's shady now so can't put it off any longer!

Great job with your workouts everyone! Keep up the good work!

LOS your doggie is precious!

Off I go! emoticon

Great job on your workout! Day 2 of 11-20. I actually enjoy this level a lot more than days 1-10. But probably only because my body is bouncing back and feeling stronger again. Yeah!

Live streaming was a lot more fun than the DVDs. I don't know how to word this so it doesn't make me seem negative
... But I liked watching Tracy being amazing and seeing that the women in her "class" were real. not perfect Tracy replicas. Some would be clearly struggling, some would be doing great but have to stop and rest, so it really helped me feel more at ease with my own "performance". And be less critical of myself.

Do you have any really great friends that love Tracy too? I was lucky enough to have one and we were able to "share" the cost of the membership. So it worked out to be $33 each a month. So the same as our Continuity memberships. This time around I'll definitely ask her if she'd like to workout with me again. I do best if I have someone to help keep me accountable. But if she's not up to it. I'm willing to cut back on other things to make up for spending the $67 a mo on myself. -- that's the discounted price for the 6 mo auto renewal package.

I'm off to bed. Have a great day!

Great idea to get the live streaming as a birthday present! I'd love to get it, but it seems way too expensive!

I did day 21-30 today, and because I quite like it I will stick to it for some days... I do feel that some of the workouts feel more effective, and this one really made me feel the burn without being completely impossible to keep up with!

Yeah!!! Finally!!! I think you're the first person to join this team that owns Hipcentric Meta -- well other than me. Congratulations on getting your workout done! emoticon
emoticon Hope your furbaby's birthday is perfect. How wonderful that you live close enough to have the option of beach or mountains. Enjoy your day!

I slept in, and just woke up. I definitely needed it. I'm so happy today is my free day. My dog is waiting patiently for our walk. Heading down to the beach. Day 1 (of days 11-21)when I get back.

I completely understand why you get bored with 10 days at each level. If you want you could always just do 6. If you were to ever suscribe to Tracy's live streaming the muscle structure changes each week. My least favorite exercises were always the odd levels -- which have all exercises the same regardless of which body part Meta you own. Even levels it's only the leg exercises are different. emoticon And when I say levels I'm just referring to each workout. 3 Discs with 3 workouts each. = 1-9. emoticon
since this isn't my first, second, or even third time doing Meta emoticon I'm planning on only doing each level for 6 days. Monday - Saturday. I'll rest on Sunday and then move on. I have to become consistent with Tracy before my husband will be ok with me doing the live streaming classes again. If I am, he's going to make it my birthday present in November. So I'm motivated. emoticon

Have a great day!

I did meta hip centric D41-50 today. I'm mixing up the meta workouts, I can't stand some of them (D11-21 for example), and get too bored doing the same workout for 10 days!
It's my dog's birthday, so we're going to go for a nice long walk today. Haven't decided whether to go to the mountains or the beach!

Yesterday was Day 8 of Meta. Today was my rest day. Intentional movement for the day was 2 long walks with the dog. emoticon

"Be more committed to fixing than defending"

Went to bed extra early last night (7:30) and forgot to post that I got my Meta workout done. I opted for another walk over rebounding to give my body a little extra healing time.

My husband had to be up extra early today (3 a.m.--hence the early bedtime). So what I could do was get up with him and make us both a fat loss friendly breakfast. I wanted to get day 14 of the challenge done, but my email hadn't arrived and for some reason I can't get the video to load from the 30 day page. But what I could do was was do my Meta workout.

Meta Hips Days 5 & 6 emoticon

Now I'm off to walk the dog. I love getting out with him when it's still quiet and a lot of people aren't on the roads yet, because you can hear the roar of the ocean every time we cross a street or pass an alley. It's amazing.

Have a great day!

"Success is reserved for the committed"

Not sure who said that first, but it was in my inspiration box today. So true.

The challenge this week is to work on reframing my perspective, by using the mindset.... What I can do is ..,,

So I woke up today feeling rested and decided that what I could do was start my day with day 13 of the core challenge. As usual, I enjoyed the first 3 exercises and I have created modifications for the last two that challenge me without the risk of injury. Afterward, I decided I could do some intentional movement, so I took a 45 min walk with the dog. Now what I can do is hop off my computer and eat some fresh and delicious whole foods and have matcha green tea before I go to my doctor appointment. I'll be back later to report if I get my Meta workout done too.

Hope you have a great day! emoticon

Thanks for pointing out my negative self talk. I didn't even notice it. emoticon You're absolutely right about the power our words have to shape our reality and impact our health and destiny.

I didn't end up getting much sleep Sunday night, and yesterday I realized I had actually caught a stomach flu virus. So, I skipped everything and focused on sleep and staying hydrated. I'm still running a fever today, so I'm giving my body another day off from exercise and being kind to it by fueling it with organic bone broth and lots of fresh clean water.

Fingers crossed tomorrow, I'll be feeling strong and ready to get back to the fitness challenge.

Hope your knee/leg is feeling better and that you're still going strong. emoticon

Wow, if I didn't think better of you, I'd swear you were watching me exercise, that twisty knee thing was what I modified, last week I did it on the floor, not the sticky mat, which is so much better. I'll go back to doing that, that way.

Do you realize the impact you have on yourself when you use negative language to describe yourself or your habits? Maybe you need to ask less questions and be aware of what words you use to describe your actions? Just an observation.

When you use those words in conversation, someone might get the impression that you are bloated, gross, and full of crap; we know that's not true.

Regroup. I have the flat belly diet log book I found at a discount store last week. It's similar to the foods I already eat, has a place to log foods, workouts, and cardio. I couldn't have found a better match for recording my next 30 days than if Tracy made one herself. It has 3 months of pages, Perfect if you're getting started with Meta again, hint, hint.

There is a reason Germany puts Privacy at the top of the list for what is important in personal integrity, IT MATTERS! Keep your eyes on what matters, not someone else's personal space. I'll take you at your word from here on out. Thanx.

Today G6D8, Core Challenge Day 11 Butt, don't be one! and dance cardio. emoticon

Oh no. Take care of your leg. Hope today's twisty knee thing didn't cause extra stress.

Hipcentric Meta, challenge, rebounding and walked dog. But I ate total crap today. I forgot to pause and ask the questions... How do I want to feel in an hour. How will this make me feel. Given that answer is it worth it. Going to bed feeling bloated and gross. Hope I can sleep. Tomorrow I need yo regroup and make sure to pause.

WTG,Great job on day 9, hips, bounding! I haven't heard of those you mentioned, I've never done a cleanse, I have changed what I ate and prefer to add new recipes. My diet was better a few years ago when I ate mostly vegetarian & vegan. I will probably go back to that style of eating. I like an international variety, more assembly than cooking. There probably isn't a bean dish I don't like.

I did challenge arms late last night, nothing else. Might have over done it on the dance cardio, and just learning the steps!

Back to G6D7, challenge legs, haven't decided on cardio. emoticon

Hope you're having a great weekend so far.

I managed to get done early tonight so I'm off to bed for some much needed rest. I want to wake up at 4 and workout in the morning but that will still only be 7 hours. So I might just set my alarm for 5 and see if I wake up on my own early enough to workout.

Challenge Day 9, Meta Hips Day 3, and rebounding today. emoticon

Oh and forgot. You asked about doing a cleanse. In a way, yes. But never a cleanse out of a box. I've done several Whole30s and even a Whole90. Where you eat super clean to reset your body. And I've done a 10 day juicing reset where you drink green juice for two meals and eat one clean whole30 approved meal a day. And I've done 1 three day green juice only reset. What about you? Is there something you're thinking about trying?

emoticon Good morning. Typed up a quick post last night and forgot to actually hit post emoticon

I have the hipcentric Meta. But had often wondered if I should have purchased Abcentric so I bought her Ab workouts (PP1 & 2) to have extra ab work. That's why I love this 30 day challenge.

Day 2 of Meta, 30 min rebounding, and ab challenge day 8 all DONE uh finally emoticon Tomorrow (which is now today) I'll be up early and it'll be a long busy day. Hoping to get my workout done and check in again before 10 pm.

Have a great day!

Way to go, fitting it all in. Some of those moves take a while to get right. good on you for making the most of it. which Meta are you doing? I'm Omni, but Glute is really good. Might put them both together when I get to continuity. G6D6, Core Challenge abs, I did those slowly to get the moves better, and dance cardio.

Have you ever done a cleanse? It's kind of a springy thing to do. Good work on all your TAM.

Have a great day!

Good morning!!! I managed to get 6 hours of sleep last night and obviously 8-9 is the goal for optimum health but my body was so out of whack that the 6 I got feels like 12. I feel amazing today. Like the energizer bunny emoticon

Started my day with water and a 6:00 a.m. walk/sprint session with my dog. Got home more water before a cup of black coffee and a piece of phat fudge for my fat loss energy breakfast. Did the challenge exercises, 15 each except that reach back arabesque thing. I managed 3 on each hand then did 12 of a modified version using both hands. I also skipped that 5th exercise and did 15 each leg of a modified version. I just couldn't figure out why I couldn't get in the correct position to do even one, so afterwards I asked a friend of mine/neighbor for help. Turns out, I'm not totally awkward and confused. My arms are disproportionately short for my height and body length. Who knew emoticon I always knew that given my height (5 10") my size 7 1/2 feet were considered small. But never thought I had "small" arms. They don't look weird or anything. emoticon

I've also decided that I just don't have time to do PPD2. It's nearly an hour. So I've decided to start Meta over. 30 minutes of muscle structure and 30 minutes of cardio fits best into my life. Especially, while I'm adding in the core challenge and extra Mat arms 3 times a week. So Challenge Day 7 and Meta Day 1 are both done! And it's only 10 A.M. emoticon

Congratulations on your workouts! You keep me inspired!

I'm not worried about it, it's from running on uneven surfaces. I do take a multi, and try to get as much from quality foods as I can, maybe you can squeeze in a nap? Try to get those 8 hours of sleep. Do what you can. Great job on the walking, so good for you.

The sky os so clear & bright. We're building a fence for our dog, he will just love it.

Do what you can do, it's core day 7, 5 exercises x15, it is on the video page, plus G6D5 & dance cardio, for me. Good Luck!

So you suffer from shin splints and other issues??? Do you take a good Vitamin D supplement? Last year I was in major pain. Felt like I had been jabbed in the leg with a knife. That was on top of my other knee issues. Found out my tight hips were causing some of my leg/knee pain and I had IT Band syndrome. So I started using a foam roller for hips & ITband but didn't get 100 % better until I upped my Vit D levels. It's vital for so many body functions. Who knew?

Great job again today! emoticon I'm a walking zombie right now. Such a long day. I've been up since 2:30 a.m. And I have to get up at 3:30 tomorrow. I got in a 40 min walk this morning. Definitely had my heart racing, since it was still dark and I couldn't see the spider webs. emoticon emoticon I got in another evening walk only 20 minutes but it was beautiful out. I just finished up 20 minutes of rebounding. Can't wait to see what's on the schedule hor tomorrow. Good night! emoticon

That happened to me this year with Meta Glute, my lower leg problem kept me from dance cardio & I just did the structure days in order, even when I couldn't keep the schedule. Finally though, I got more consistent. Now I only take a day when I'm freakin' tired. Funny or not so, if I had started back with Meta last year when I was going too, I might have avoided all those doctor visits, the cane, & crutches.

No sense looking back, I'm on track now, and picking up steam! Great job on fitting it in. You can only do your best, be kind to you. I'm in single-tasking mode, and focusing on one thing at a time, harder than I thought. I just didn't realize how many things I do while I'm doing other stuff, it's crazy.

Yoga blocks, what a great idea. I started slowing down and really trying to get the set up right on both sides, it's still challenging. My biggest challenge is the cardio, no matter what I do, i still get shin splints, or some other weird tightness in another part of my leg. It's easier to do just a little bit more though. You should not beat yourself up, she makes these moves the way she does so you have to work at it. nobody starts out getting everything perfect. If they did she would give them some thing even harder to do! I've seen some of her bootcamp, it's a little scary, that is. emoticon

I'm going to do cardio today, and G6D4, might have to try the rebounder again too.

Don't feel bad if you need to skip a day, if you're super busy, that's good too, just do what you can do! emoticon

Hey!!! I don't know what happened!! emoticon I hate that!!! My thumb typing is slow so it's double frustrating when I lose a post. I'm so sorry. I thought I had checked in with you.

I haven't moved on to PD2 yet. I'm having a tough time fitting in my fitness this week and not getting it done until super late. Yesterday it was 8 pm and all I really wanted to do is go to bed so I only had enough energy to do the challenge exercises and rebound cardio.

Great job getting stronger on that balanced arm move!!!! It is just not happening for me. But I'm still giving it my best effort. I was working out yesterday thinking that it felt like I had done those moves before but couldn't remember if it was in the challenge or in PD1 or Meta.

Today's workout went pretty well. I had to modify two -- I think. (Side body balance isn't happening at all and I had to use yoga blocks for one. I'm starting to get my days and workouts mixed up. Not enough sleep.

Boy oh my gosh, Yesterday was rough for me. I'm mad my post disappeared because I don't remember the exercises- It was the one where you started one way and then twisted from your knee all of your body weight onto your side??? I have bad knees so I only managed 3 safely. The one arm stabilizing arabesque thing was really tough I had to go slow and give my wrists a break in between. I only did 10. Dang it! I feel like there was one more I had issues with and modified.

Oh well. I'm going to hit post on this now and go back and read your last message again. I feel like I'm forgetting something. Oh yeah and did you say that the check in thing has a different number of reps than the description by the video? I haven't printed it out yet. I'm going to go look for it right now before I forget again. Tomorrow I have a long day. I leave for work at 6 and will be lucky to get home by 6. So it's going to be late -- after 9 pm PST before I'm able to workout. You must be back easy somewhere??? Because when I wake up at 5 you've usually already posted. Thank you for posting!!! I hope you know I probably would have allowed myself to skip a challenge day if it weren't for you.

What's happening Marki? Hope you're still on PD2 & core challenge. Todays butt challenge had that side tripod balance thingy again, still challenging but better today. Glute 6 day 3, core challenge and a longer walk. that's the most I've walked for a while. I didn't even realize it until I got home.

I'll be darned, those ab lines are really showing up. I shouldn't be surprised, her workouts have always been a great gift to me, so grateful for them! emoticon

Have an incredible day! emoticon

It's okay if you don't want to check in everyday, I'd join the FB group I knew how to use it, lol.
If you don't want to check in I'll just blog my progress, I really want to see this challenge through the 30 days. I've been inspired by some of her other recommendations & goop as well, It's like hanging out with an entire new group of friends, or friends I haven't seen for a while. emoticon

So glad you an awesome day! That sounds so cool. Not a bad price either. How 'bout that too, a celebrity trainer & tips! It's a great feeling to get good information. I liked the arm work too. The videos do repeat, more reps each time, I didn't look at everything yet, but I'm thinking that's how it goes.

I watched the marathon today, always do. It was fantastic, love a great race. Hopefully when I've recovered sufficiently, I'll be running again too.

May just do challenge legs today, went for a walk earlier to try to get the tweaki-ness out of my leg from dance cardio. I may completely swap dance cardio out for something else, at least for a little while.

Have a great day

Oh my. Today was freaking awesome!!! Best day EV-ER!!!! I'm totally inspired to get consistent and see results.

If you google InBody 570 testing, you might see some places pop up near you. If I wasn't so tired I'd post a link to the company's website. InBody's technology is the second most accurate body composition testing and least invasive considering DEXA scans expose you to radiation and under water testing can't tell you what type of fat you have and where just how much based on how much air you're able to blow out if your lungs.

When I was living in NV my doctor's office had an Inbody 520. Which was an older model. But I've been back in CA for a year and hadn't been able to locate any medical offices that had one. Finally I found a gym in Hermosa, that offered the tests for $45. I've been emailing with the owner, "Kim" for awhile and finally made it down today to get the test done. Turns out "Kim" was -- well is Kim Lyons the trainer from the biggest loser. She was incredible. So nice, inspirational and was so freaking tiny and just solid muscle. She gave me tips on how to change things up. i left there feeling informed and empowered. I'll go back at the end of our challenge to see my changes.

Loved the arm work today!!! I'm good sore from our challenge. Can't wait for tomorrow.
Good night.

My legs were feeling it for sure. On the check sheet it's 10x, then 15x, 20x, 25x, THEN 30x, every 6th day is cardio. whoops. I like how she is going from core to abs to arms to legs to butt and cardio, progressing each time. It's a neat set.

I think some of those instructions are unique to certain pages, can't go wrong with the check sheet.

DH told me I better not over do it, I hope you're not so sore. adjust as necessary. It is a good kind of sore. the exercises feel awkward at first, but repeating them is fun, I always feel so accomplished when I get it. wouldn't mind doing some of those again, for another try!

Wow, that sounds like a great test for body composition. This is a great time to get tested. You can really see your results. Where do you get something like that done?

Glute 6 day 2, Core challenge day 3, dance cardio 15 minutes, done.

Have a great day!

Humbled? No way! You're freaking AWESOME! emoticon I'm so impressed that you stuck with your Meta workout AND did so many reps of the challenge exercises.

emoticon emoticon Oops. Uh yeah. Um thank goodness you pointed out all the nifty info available on the 30 day page, because I didn't see it either. emoticon

I like that it tells you how much cardio she wants you to do AFTER you're done too!

I completely forgot to post yesterday. My body especially my arms were SO sore from those 30 weighted arm things!!! It was crazy! It's not like I'm new to her stuff or anything. But definitely the good kind of sore. So I DID take the day off from PD1. and only did 30 minutes of rebounding and 30 reps of the challenge exercises -- except that last one. I really struggled to get my body into the right position. My hips were super tight. I did s very ackward 10.

I haven't done anything today. I have an appointment at 9:30 this morning to weigh in and have my muscle mass and body fat tested on an InBody 570. So I can't eat or exercise until after I'm done. I had a DXA scan two weeks ago and I'll be interested in seeing the difference. I need to work on losing body fat not muscle or water. I'll check in again once I workout. I'm supposed to start PD2 today too.

Happy Sunday!

Humbled at 20 reps today with core #2, she had my legs burning half way through Glute 6, I might have thought better of taking a rest day today and just doing the challenge. I've gotten more consistent though want to keep going with Meta.

I'm not adding the weights yet. Maybe in a week or two, if I progress. Interesting combinations in this, wonder if she'll put it out in dvd? I read about people doing cleanse twice a year, maybe this would be good to do twice a year too? I missed her last challenge.

emoticon Duh, I just saw she did have reps in the sidebar & there's a nifty little check sheet pdf you can print out to track your progress at the top of that 30 day page, that's embarrassing, I guess I was a little excited to get started.

Never give up! have an awesome day!

I do that too, just pausing to complete each one. I find too, that I don't get each side the same, it's easier on one side, or after I do the first side, the second is better. I just do what I can. Over all just staying with it over time always works with TAM. Good work with the PD1 & mat & knowing when to give yourself a break!

I have Core day 2 & G6D1 on tap for later. Love that page with the 30 days...Do your best, there's a test at the end!

Have a great day!

Feels better to watch the moves and know what's coming next.

I matched your 30 reps on the first 3 moves. But oh my gosh those last 2 were crazy!! Way to go doing sooo many. I managed 5 on each side of the 4th and couldn't get the position correct for the 5th. I just couldn't bend my opposite arm in a way that it could support my hips. emoticon I ended up doing a modified push-up position leg lift thing. 10. Each leg.

Today's workout was PD1 with bonus Mat Workout standing abs and arms. And no cardio today. Bouncing turned me green so just a walk with the dog.

Happy Friday! Hope you have a great weekend! I'll be back tomorrow. emoticon

Wow! 30!!! You're awesome! I haven't done it yet and was coming here to ask you how many you were going to do. Wasn't expecting 30. emoticon I had 10 in my head because usually on the ab moves she does 10. Sometimes she does 20 but I've never seen her do 30. I'm going to pull out my PP2 and count her reps, because I know some of the moves are on there. That move where she balances her hips on her left elbow looks really challenging. I'm going to be excited if I can start the challenge able to do 3. Congratulations on your 10!!! Wow!

It was really confusing this morning. I watched the intro video 3 times (just killed me because of the commercials) wondering where the actual workout was then got bumped to a page that had the videos for the entire 30 days. Watched one of them then couldn't get back to the same page. Then I got the email with the link to day 1. While I was in health.com limbo I saw Tracy's 10 inches in -- thought it said 10 days-- but 30 would make more sense.-- Challenge. I watched that video too. It was 8 moves 30 reps each. But I recognized all of them from Meta levels. Of course the sequence is always key with Tracy's method so might want to give that challenge a try later too

Ok well enough chatter. I need to find a way to push past my hangover and get my workouts & challenge exercises done. We had Mexican food last night and I didn't have a margarita because of the sugar but I had Casamigos straight. It's a really smooth sipping tequila. What I didn't realize was that my husband had been adding more to my glass. So in my head I was only having one. Until he finally asked me if I was going to slow down or was I planning on finishing the whole bottle emoticon Between that and the gluten in the quesadilla I'm not feeling so well this morning emoticon Wish me luck.

The ocean sounds wonderful. I'll bet your dog just loved it, too. New tunes, always good, good work on the rebounding & PD1. That's early! A little confusing until I got the email with link to day 1. Those last two moves were challenging. did she say how many reps? I guessed & did 30 each R/L, except for those last two, did as many as I could, ha!

last day Glute 5 + core challenge + dance cardio for beginners 30 min. She has another series on Health called 10 inches in 10 days, nearly went for that. Maybe I'll do that one next.

Have a super day! emoticon

So excited for tomorrow!!! Day 1! emoticon Today I got 3 walks in with the dog. Love the ocean at sunrise, sunset, and by moonlight. 30 minutes of rebounding. Broke out a new playlist. Lots of fun. And 40 ish minutes of perfect design 1. Skipped the warm up and cool down. Did 10 minutes of Mat arms. And 10 minutes of melting. I got up at 3:30 am with my husband, so I had lots of e tea time today to get things done.

Good luck tomorrow! Hope we both love the ab challenge emoticon

Good work, she has such a great variety of shorter workouts to mix & match. I'm glad you mentioned that. I tacked on beginner dance cardio after Glute L5D9, modified for no jumping, I think that will be easier than the rebounder for now, I might be able to do beg. DC everyday. That one always makes me think when I do it, somewhere, Mari Windsor is smiling.

My shape is slowly changing, scale, not so much, but I expect it to over the next few weeks. One goal is 15 lbs. & a solid size down, there's pants I want to wear & a swimsuit I've got my eye on, to be clear, it's not so much a swim suit, but a goal, yes I really look this good, suit.

I might be dreaming, it's not like I have a pool. Hope you got your sleep.

Challenge starts tomorrow!

Wow! You've really nearly done it all! Omni Abs, and Glutes!!! I own all of Tracy's DVDs except the teen one and her pregnancy project too. Definitely not for me. Although, I saw samples of both and I was tempted to buy her Pregnancy Project just to see a heavier version of her. It makes seeing her shrink again even more impressive. I'm pretty sure you can find her PPabs workout on YouTube but it's definitely worth buying.

I'm sorry you're injured. Hope you're back to full strength soon. Today I ran out of time. So I did 20 minutes of rebounding. 10 minutes of Mat Workout arms and then before dinner I snuck in Meta days 11-20 since it's only 30 minutes. I'm exhausted. I'm going to bed early. Hoping to get 8 hours of solid sleep tonight. So I get my workout done first thing tomorrow morning.

Good night. Hope tomorrow is another great day. emoticon

Yeah, I guess, depending on how hard it is, but I'm pretty confident with Meta, I did Abcentric & most of Hip last year. I'm an Omni, I did 90 days of that a few years ago. I picked those up cheap last year. I may just continue with continuity this year. I've been on & off, too long. I really would like to get up to the upper levels.

I've never had photo shoot abs but last year, after Ab & hip along with some other things, surprisingly yoga, I think probably the flattest for a while. sadly I hurt my leg somehow, over use I guess. cardio isn't really in the picture yet. shame really, the combo of dance cardio or rebounding with the structure work really does wonders for me, especially waist, hips, & butt. I keep trying a little here & there, it's slow going and not an everyday thing.

I didn't get Post Pregnancy, have heard good things about both of them, I'm really an Omni but I'll try most of hers. Teen isn't for me. I would do it if I was! emoticon

I won't tell you about the spaghetti then, I did have a leafy green salad for lunch! emoticon

Nice work on the rebounding & Mat, love that rebounding!

Great job! I'm going to do the challenge along with my regular workout, that is unless it kills me. emoticon Have you done her Post Pregnancy 2 workout? It's so different ----- different type of hard and good-- from her first one. So I'm excited to see what the challenge will be like. Just to be clear, I've only ever had soft ate too many processed carbs abs. emoticon

Yesterday Tracy's rebounding cardio. PD1 with additional Mat Workout Arms and standing Abs. Today is my day off. -- work not Tracy. So I slept in and just woke up. My workout plan for today is the same as yesterday. but I don't plan on working out until this afternoon.

Have a great day!

Thanks, Perfect Design is a great series, love the night city, I did #2 a lot. Plan to revisit her earlier work and beginner material. yesterday glute L5. tried out mat for beginners, the 2014 one. she goes slow in the beginning, fries the arms quick. did precision arms the other day and that fried too. I forgot how effective her arm work is, gets me every time.

today Glute L5 & another mat sequence. I'm sticking with 10 each sequence too. emoticon

Yes we can!

Hi! Happy Monday! Thanks for posting! It's motivating to know that there's someone else working out with Tracy emoticon Congratulations on your Meta progress! emoticon emoticon emoticon
And thank you for sharing the core challenge info. I'm all signed up and really looking forward to it.

I'm working my way back to 6 days a week with Tracy too. My body needs it. I'm currently doing her Perfect Design 1. It's been forever since I went through the series and I forgot how much I enjoyed it. But I also miss Meta. I have the Hip program. I'll be getting back to Meta once I finish my 30 days of Perfect Design 1-3. 10 on each level.

Have a great day and a great new week!

Also trying to get back to 6x a week, hope the challenge works for that. It is rather quiet around here. emoticon emoticon emoticon

emoticon Hey there! It's great to see a new face! It definitely looks like a ghost town emoticon around here, but truth be told, a lot of us that are part of this group have become friends and text or email often, but forget to stop by here and post. emoticon

It's almost been a month since your post. Are you done with Piyo? I was so tempted to order it, but never took the plunge, because I didn't want to start chasing shinny new workouts again. I have a DVD addiction. emoticon

I started back with Tracy full time last week! Yeah! Back to Meta Level 1. With some Mat Workout arms, and PP Abs. I'm doing her rebounding cardio, not her dance cardio. But I bought her newest Dance workout on Amazon and really like it so I might work on fitting that in once in awhile to switch it up.

Hope everyone is doing great! emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon

I just did the PiYo Sweat workout - I'm in my second week of the two month PiYo series.

I am still very interested in going all out with the Tracy Anderson method after I finish the PiYo series. I had ordered it at the same time as I was starting TAM and coincidentally I found out a friend is a coach, so I had to do it with her.

I am still incorporating some TAM arms and core work on my lighter days, so I'll try to post in here when I can to see if we can get this group a little more active again!

Cheers everybody! Stay active!

Happy New Year!

Hope you all had great holidays!

So far in 2016 I have not been good about physically challenging myself lately and it shows!

It's time to get moving!

Stars DO make everything more fun I really love the new DVDs. The pace and instructions are the best combo yet. The Bootcamp DVD was a little too much for me to jump back into since I took so much time off while I was sick. But I can see myself adding one of the sections to my regular workout as a bonus. Ab section was a great workout and so tough right now but the good kind. The Dance Cardio was 6 10 min dance workouts. I was so happy doing it. With my bad knees I still can't jump but I could step my way through and still feel it. The instructions were fantastic!! No teaching a routine you had to remember. She called out it move as she did it.

Today was day 3 & 30 min of rebounding. Day 1 I also did Boot Camo Abs, and Meta days 1-10. 10 min of the me Dance cardio. Day 2. 10 min each of rebounding and new 10 min cardio. Mat Workout Arms. Tomorrow the plan is to do Meta Days 1-10 ten min of rebounding and 10 min of dance.

Hope you had a great day!

Happy New Year! It's great to see you! Sad to say YES whatever's going on with the ads keeps me from Sparking like I used to too. So I understand.

Today is day 1. Back to Tracy workouts. I'll be back later to post which one I did. My plan is to do her Mat workout, but who knows. I bought her new Boot Camp and Dance DVDs. Can't wait to check them out.

I've been using the grid Grid Diary app to track and share my progress and because of you, I'm adding stars to my accomplishment.

Hi Everyone!
Switched to a new TA DVD and have noodle arms tonight!
I have to admit, I allowed the holidays to side track me so not as many stars on my calendar in December emoticon
Also, haven't been on SP much - there are so many video ads on each page that it loads soooooo sloooooow and my internet speed is streaming quality! emoticon Anyone else having this issue too?
Tried to update my fitness and food trackers tonight but it was taking 2 seconds to refresh the page for each entry so I'm finding that it's not really worth it when I already have a cute little fitness and food diary that only takes a few secs to fill in.

How are you guys doing?
I hope you're feeling happy healthy and wise with the New year!

Hey Marki!

My first day in recent memory with no appointments! I do have a long list but it's nice to be home for a change!

I haven't had many chances to spark lately but I did peek in yesterday and saw your post! - not sparking is never a good thing for me - I'm up another couple of pounds - yikes - I've been very active just not "real" exercise and nutrition has been poor - time to find more "me" time for exercise, cooking good stuff and sparking!

So sorry you had the flu - YUCK!!!!!!

Hope you're feeling well enough to sweat soon!

I hope to be back to report some real exercise later today!

But right now I have got to get online and order a few little gifts for sis and her family and have them sent to Ohio where we're going for Christmas!

OK - we can do this! We know how much better we feel when we exercise and eat right!

Have a great day!

Mary

Wow! This place has been a ghost town! emoticon Mary Dizzie Pam, hope you all had a Happy Thanksgiving! The only exercise I've done since the 22nd of November is walking. emoticon Thank goodness for spoiled puppies. He gets me up and going no matter how much I'd rather stay in bed. I caught that stupid flu! emoticon It hung on for 11 days, and then when I was finally better, we had a house FULL of company for our family's 3 day Christmas celebration Lots and lots of little ones with germs running around touching everything. It was wonderful. emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon At the end of the 3 days I relapsed and I've been fighting this thing off ever since. The bright side is I have definitely NOT gained any weight this holiday season. emoticon Always a silver lining if you look for it. emoticon

Well, I hope everyone else is having a healthier holiday season than I am. As soon as I get an official workout in, worth reporting, I'll be back to report it. emoticon

Mary. THANK YOU! for sharing that recipe! It looks delicious. I don't have oyster sauce, but I do have fish sauce. No soy for this girl, but LOVE Siracha. emoticon

I'm glad you got some waking time in. I've been ordered to stay out of the sun, I have some dumb brown spots on my face that I want to get some laser skin rejuvenation for, but I can't be tanned at all before the plastic surgeon does it. It was a Groupon buy. So, I'm walking Dozer in the dark. Neither of us are thrilled about it. But, the funny thing is that I've been trying to tap into the part of me that remains committed to doing what's best for him without even thinking about it, and direct that same commitment to doing what's best for me. Should be a no brainer!

I'm stilling working Tracy's Meta Level 3 (days 21-30) I really like this level. And I've been rebounding. Only 30 minutes each. Still trying to cut down on over exercising. I'm trying to decide which dishes are the ones that Thanksgiving won't be Thanksgiving without, so that I can make paleo or more body friendly versions of for the holidays. My husband suggested I make cornbread stuffing since it would be gluten free, but when I looked at the Mrs. Cubbison's box of cornbread stuffing, there wasn't even any cornbread in it!!! emoticon That's so crazy!

Dizzy, you've gone quiet. Hope everything is ok and that you're still earning those stars.

Pam, how's the healing going? are you feeling better yet?

Happy Tuesday! Hope you all have a great week! emoticon

Haha...Dizzy said in one of her posts that she felt like Gumby - that's why I called her Gumby!

My Harry finally got a walk today...he loves the wind blowing through his fuzzy tail & floppy ears! When it's raining which it has been most of the time lately we can throw some bits of chicken in the back yard & he'll take care business so walks aren't mandatory but they're so much better for both of us...even tho he might think retrieving a ball in the house is just as much fun for his exercise - (he would retrieve until he passes out) - but the tossing gets old quickly for us!

Great job taking care of yourself! I'm managing my "minimum" but hope to ramp things up soon!

Dizzy/Gumby - hope you had a great day!

Pura Vida!

Mary, did your phone turn Dizzy into Gumby or did I miss something emoticon Glad your son is on the mend. Wow! Way to give back, but don't forget to put yourself on your to do list too.

I'm learning to be as dedicated to what my body needs as I am to what our dog needs. Luckily his mandatory walks benefit me too, since they happen regardless of personal illness, lack of sleep, work schedule, rain, wind storm, or avoid shine (since shine used to mean blazing heat). Our dog will NOT do any of his business in his own yard or own personal territory. Not even when he's sick. Crazy! Akita's are typically extremely clean dogs; but he excels in that area.

Today, my body was really feeling that new Tracy level. In a good way. Day 2 of Meta Days 21-30. Total of 90 minutes of walking with the dog. emoticon My husband is leaving for work soon, so I might get a rebounding workout in before bed.

Dizzy, I hope you had a great day.

Thanks for another link Gumby! I haven't had a chance to check out yet but I will! Love your stars! And your great choices!

Lots of volunteering today...1st tutoring one of my reading partners girls who missed a session last week..then manning phone & welcome desk at son's school...then HS booster club board meeting...got home at 7...no workouts or walking today...

Son back to school & better but still not eating much...bad since he has intense basketball practice after school...he'll probably lose 10 lbs of muscle he worked so hard to gain while I can't seem to lose 2 lbs of flab...

Marki - way to rebound! Keep it up! & so great your doggie gets all those walks...poor Harry hasn't walked much lately...too much rain emoticon

Ok gotta go I'm posting with phone because son has reclaimed his laptop I was using for sparking & phone's getting ready to poop out - so am I!

Night-night!

Your poor mom. Shock and disappointment at the same time emoticon Great job on your workout. Love the stars in your workout book. Very motivating.

Today I got my rebounding workout -- still haven't managed those crossover moves-- definitely need a practice session. And Meta days 21-30. OMGoodness. I had forgotten how hard some of those leg moves feel. Good thing I had caved to the over exercising temptation earlier in the day and put in a Jillian DVD. It took less than two minutes for me to remember why I love Tracy, and shut that Jillian DVD off. So despite the tough moves. I loved my Meta workout with Tracy today.

Ended with some Melting. Hopefully that will help me be less sore tomorrow.

Mary, how did your day go? Did you get enough to eat? Hope your son is feeling better. When I read food poisoning, I thought Chipotle, but fair food sounds even worse. Poor guy. Thanks for the info on the veggies. I'll look for them. I want to try new things.

Well I'm off to bed. I earned a good night's sleep. emoticon

Poor baby! Food poisoning is the WORST!

Tracy uploaded a 2 part rebounder workout (it used to be on her site) but now I only have it on youtube here are the links to it, but I found the shorter one with actual instruction to be really helpful since I have a hard time following along with her on this longer one. It doesn't help that I'm twice as tall as her - I feel like gumby trying some of these moves. LOL emoticon
https://youtu.be/QiBVyW8qfVY Part 1
https://youtu.be/GhgmqcGa2Ds Part 2
https://youtu.be/KtUEr_oy_o4 also a 30 min version without music someone else uploaded.

I got home late today and was all "wine or workout...wine or workout..." Workout won and I'm better for it. not sure what this says about my maturity but what actually convinced me was that I wanted a star on my calendar. My goal this month is to create a fitness habit so when I looked back at the last few weeks and saw the pattern and that my free day is only 2 workouts away, it was impossible to skip. I'm a kid at heart.

emoticon Great job ladies!!!!
Keep it up!

Not much movement for me today 😣...poor son woke up before dawn suffering with food poisoning...poor guy...he went to the fair with friends last night...he normally doesn't eat fair food & now he never will again...& neither will I! He hasn't eaten anything all day but did drink water at 4 & been sleeping soundly since...rough weekend for him - SAT yesterday morning & food-poisoning today!

I usually cook bok choy pretty much like cabbage...tatsoi (not sure spelling right) is in same family kind of a mini bok choy...Alamo is a turnip green but plant has no bulb like leaf lettuce so you can cut & 2 weeks later cut greens again!

I really need to eat (I didn't move much today but hardly ate at all) so guess I'll go toss some in a pan with a bit of coconut oil & cook myself a piece of chicken...

Dizzy thanks for the link!...I've never tried TA rebounding but think I'll try with that link - repeating a few times since it's short!

Ok tummy rumbling...I better listen or I won't feel like moving tomorrow either!

Have a great night!

Y'all rock! emoticon

Mary, I'm going to have to google Alamo, & tatsoi. I've never heard of those. And what do you do with the bok choy? I always see at the grocery store, but have never tried to use it in a recipe. Good job on your steps/miles.

Dizzy, emoticon thank you, thank you! for posting that link. I love rebounding, since my knees can't handle jumping on the hard floor, but I have always struggled with that crossover leg move. I'm so excited to give it a try, now that I've heard and seen Tracy explain how to do it. I'll definitely watch that one more time before my next rebounding session.

Today is my rest day. The dog and I went for a long walk by the beach this morning. Just over an hour. I'll be taking him out again two more times today. (My husband's working). The evening walk is much shorter 30 minutes max, since it's getting dark so early, Then we do a quick 15 min max late night walk. I also must have burned some calories doing housework today. Mopping, vacuuming, window washing.

Tomorrow, will be Meta days 21-30, rebounding, and Sprint training. Hope you both, and anyone else out there, has a great new week!

Thank you for the encouragement! Today I did Preg. Proj month 8. I plan 1 week for each month and I'm really enjoying it so far. I recognize a lot of the moves from Meta only they are modified to get up off the floor (knees) so much and to work around a big belly - which is such a good place for me to start because my knees get achy fast and I've gained all my weight in my belly! ha ha ha Also, this workout is much easier than month 9 (or I'm just catching up??) so I'm adding in rebounder cardio - again to keep the pressure off my joints until I lose some weight so I don't injure myself. I found a great instructional video she did on GOOP and thought I'd share: http://goop.com/the-lymphatic-system-a-reb

emoticon Dizzy! emoticon idea! There have been a couple of our team members that have done the same thing. I was tempted to buy the program, in part, because I had heard that there are times in the later months that Tracy struggles with the moves, and there's still a part of me that hates looking up from the Meta leg series while I'm struggling and seeing Tracy's stupid smirky "this is soooo easy" smile. emoticon Plus, I love seeing a heavier Tracy. It's proof to me that no matter what my starting point is, that with consistency, I'll create my body ever. emoticon
I'm fighting my way back right now, and can't keep up with Tracy either, but that's ok. It's not about perfection. I just hit pause, and do it at my own pace. It's ok with me if I'm slower than she is, as long as I push myself to do the reps.

I have purchased ALL of Tracy's DVDs. What I really liked about the new ones she made is that they contained a lot of instructions and explanations. Even her Method for Beginners, was worth watching and doing at least once. I couldn't do it more than that because at the time, I was doing Meta regularly and having Tracy count reps drove me crazy. emoticon The only one I bought, and really found too hard to do, was the one with the band. Slim & Sculpt? The cardio was fine, much easier than the dancing, but that band was too hard for me to pull on and hold for the leg exercises. I have bad wrists. I would have much rather used leg weights. But could feel how the band worked different muscles than leg weights.

Mary, Yeah! For no rain! Hope you got your miles in yesterday!

I did Meta, still doing days 11-20. Plus 30 minutes of rebounding. I made some good playlists and that's really helping. Plus a walk with the dog by the ocean. It was beautiful here.

Great job Dizzy! You should be proud! Keep it up and that stamina will come back! I think it's so important to start at a level that works for YOU! I'm only a Tracy dabbler I tried meta but felt like the st put too much stress on my supporting knee and cardio was high impact - which I could probably handle if I didn't like to jog - decided I should only do one high impact activity at my age!

Wow Marki how exciting for you nephew - will he be playing in the big league next year? My son won't be getting any athletic scholarships but I am happy that he can play in high school.

OK it's cloudy but not raining so time to put some miles on my shoes!

Have a great day!

Pura Vida!

I'm having mixed feelings about admitting this but I did the Month 9 work out of TA pregnancy project. I haven't done TA for a couple years now, tried to start with Meta but I thought I was going to die. I had the pregnancy project from years ago and decided to ease in with the easiest one LOL Have done it every day this week and starting with Month 8 tomorrow...I figure I'll work backwards and be able to move into Meta once I get some coordination and stamina back. Embarrassing...but I'm proud of myself for getting back into a daily workout habit.

I noticed she has some new DVDs for Beginners - anyone tried them?

Yeah! I'm glad the stew turned out good. Congratulations! You & your son must be proud. I have a nephew that just had his first "Cup of Coffee". He got called up for a few games at the end of the season His baseball got him into college and he has a good nest egg set aside even though he had only been in the minors for the last two years.

Today I walked at the beach with the dog. Slow intentional movement for an hour this morning and got in 3o min of rebounding and 30 of ms tonight. I'm excused. Off to bed at a decent time. The dog got us up st 4. Hope you get nicer weather tomorrow.

A Disaster!?! Oh no! It sounded complicated too. I hate when I've put so much effort into a meal and I'm disappointed. Hope you have better luck with the stew and salmon. Norway would not have made my list. I can't think of the name of the show or the host, but the host is bald and round and he travels the world eating strange food. I saw an episode from Norway (at least that's how I remembered it). And everything he ate scared me. 😬

My husband and I did our sprint routine and let's just say I was eaten by the lion again. I don't think I could out run a gator 🐊

I made pork tacos in lettuce wraps last night with margaritas and chips. Yummy but not worth the sleep issues from the chips. Blah. Tonight is just spaghetti squash with meat sauce. Tri-Tip tomorrow. Haven't decided which new recipe to make this week.

30 min of Tracy today. Yeah!

Those cookies are adorable!!! Love them!!! Bravo!!!

Busy day in the kitchen and hitting multiple grocery stores, whole foods, trader joe's...
Theme country for this week is Norway - don't ask me why! emoticon it just popped into my head emoticon ...but I found an interesting website called mylittlenorway.com and the author posts all kinds of stuff about life and traditions there including many pages of recipes - I read through about half of them...(skipped over the many, many amazing cookies and pastries - but if I can get my weight down by the holidays I might have to try making some then!)...here are the 3 dishes I'm planning to do today...Lefse - which is sort of a potato flat bread or crepe - but I'm using sweet potato because I got lots of little white sweet potatoes in my CSA and I found a paleo Lefse recipe on a different website (thought of you) using them instead of regular potatoes...Finnbiff - which is a reindeer stew - um, no reindeer meat here and not sure I'd be that adventurous if there was - I'm using lamb...lastly I'm going to cold cure salmon I'll get it curing in the fridge for a few days then smoke it with charcoal and wood chunks for a couple of hours on Wednesday...we won't eat any of this today...hubby treats himself to a cheeseburger at a nearby pub every Sunday afternoon so doesn't eat Sunday dinner...we'll probably eat the stew and bread for dinner Monday and Tuesday - along with fresh greens I picked yesterday while volunteering again with Farms to Families...2 1/2 hours of squats and dead lifts getting down low to cut kale, alamo and mustard...kind of fun wielding a machete - even if it's a little lettuce machete!

OK...off to nutrition tracker to enter the recipe ingredients into food groupings before I do the cooking...if I wait until after I might be tired and out of motivation so making myself do it now before I do the fun part - I do like to cook!

And I will get my miles and ms in! Beautiful out there today!

Have a great rest of your Sunday!

Pura Vida!
Mary

Gardening definitely counts! It's hard work! Congratulations on your weight loss!

I slept all night last night. Definitely felt better today, but still tired. I think I read somewhere that you can't really catch up on sleep. Boo! I'm getting ready to walk the dog one last time now that they're aren't any more people out. It was a zoo out there tonight.

Ok. Here's my doggie cookies. They're small. They're all on a dinner size paper plate. The flimsy ones they'd give you at a pizza parlor.

3rd shift is tough! I worked it in my 20s...but back then I could just sleep til noon on day one then make it thru my shift & crash when I got home at 8...it was 5 on 5 off - 10 hr shifts (10-8)...nice part was if I took 5 days vacation I got 15 days off in a row...hope you're adjusting & getting some sleep!!! Life is tough without enough Zzzzz's..

I didn't get miles or ms yesterday but I worked in garden for 5 hours (one project led to another) so I think all that raking, hand tilling & digging with a pick axe made up for it..scale said so too...finally down a little!

Son's out so I'll be up later than I'd like to be...like to have him safely home before I sleep...

Post some pics of those cookies!
