This reminds me of when the X and I would take the kids out to the garden to pick our dinner and never make it to the dinner table. We just sat in the garden and had dinner at nature's table. Stay in the garden Kathy, I'd rather join you.
I'm usually pretty active on my groups - I just wanted to let you all know - I'm here and I'm doing great! I've been way too busy with being a mom, my job, being a wife and an avid gardener. We are at the height of gardening here in July - trying to keep up. I planted over 60 types of tomatoes this year and they are now popping all over the place. YAAAAAAYYYYYY!!!! I love gardening - neighbors saw all my tomatoes and said, "you're gonna have a lot of weeding to do" but anyone who knows me knows that I love being outside - any excuse and Weeding is relaxing for me. I love being on my hands and knees, in the middle of the garden, where no one can see me. I don't think - I just enjoy the sounds of the birds (I can even hear the hummingbirds buzzing above me), I love the smell. Have you ever noticed the strong scent of tomatoes is on the vine itself? I come in smelling like tomatoes. Lol!
So, I'll be more active on here when my garden slows down but for now, I must keep my garden happy so that it keeps us happy. I made homemade guacamole yesterday - the tomatoes, cilantro and onion came from my garden. It was fabulous - if you want the recipe, remind me and I'll post it on here. My husband and I sat on the deck and snacked on it. He said, he could just eat it with a spoon. Avocados are a great price right now and perfect ripeness.
I was wrestling with my son several weeks ago and heard my knee pop and getting up was super painful - so much for showing him how I could keep up with him. "I can't" So, after many weeks of doing different exercises to build my knee up again, I'm finally back to walking more but I'm afraid to do planks or jumping jacks.
The good news is I'm back to doing my extra walking outside and on dvds again - I had to go super slow the past few weeks and not do anything extra that involved knee bends - couldn't even get off the floor properly. However, I was able to lift weights and do situps/leg lifts like you do for yoga.
I wish we had a Y near us - I'd love to go swimming - it's the best exercises for us "older" folks.
I got a late start so my morning smoothie is also my lunch smoothie. Fresh Blueberry/Strawberry/Banana, an avocado then lots of Kale and Chard. I'll have a quart Mason jar of it waiting for me tomorrow morning also. Now to put on the spandex shorts and cleats make that investment in my road bike pay off.
