I enjoy getting all the extra servings of fruit and vegetables. The Green Smoothies also work as a fantastic diuretic and I find I am losing more weight and feeling very energetic.
All the tips in this discussion group are really good too!
I like that I can get at least half of my leafy greens in for the day and at least two servings of fruit into one meal. Not to mention the flax or chia seeds which I would have a tough time incorporating every day easily. And as you mentioned, they are raw, so feel like I am getting the most nutritional bang for my buck.
It is the best and easiest breakfast or even lunch I can make with my Raw Diet. However, I am able to incorporate more Greens in my diet in the form of a Green Smoothie without adding any oil or and salt to the preparation.
I don't know about you but when I used to eat spinach, kale, collard greens, dandelions, etc. they were all cooked. I would sauté the greens in olive oil, tons of garlic, and season with salt to make them taste better. Now I eat them Raw thereby consuming more nutrients rather than cooking the nutrients out and the greens are hardly noticeable when combined with fruit. The sweetness of the fruit offsets the bitter of the greens.
