Soon we will be changing the calendar and thinking of all we did in 2012, reflection is growth when applied with hope. And looking ahead to 2013 and thinking of what we want in the new year with visions of goals with results. We select plans and jump in. Many fail and many are disappointed in themselves for failing. I have taken this month to seek out and am working on preparation to succeed. There is no failure in attempts, just failure if nothing is attempted. Attempts are actions lived and lessons learned. Keep attempting and keep going ahead with visions and goals. Yes they may change as you walk in your journey, but the changes are growth and the changes are in each of us to be the best we can be. Not the best someone else is in their life, but you in your own life.
May you all have an amazing journey in 2013!

The days I know I may be faced with choices that are not exactly healthy or healthy but still need moderation. I have to start the day fully green with a smoothie. If I do this I have a better chance of being successful in my goal of moderation.

I am happy to say I am and have been eating now 23 days clean. My goal was 80% and I have accomplished 90% and most days 100%. The days I struggle are the days I do not drink green.
Even if a small amount, it makes a big difference. It seems the energy it gives me, as well a clearer mind when it comes to choices. Perhaps the body being fueled correctly to start with is the trick...you think LOL

When I go on vacation, I drink the V8. I know it's not as good as the green smoothie, but it works.
Maybe I'll see about upgrading to making extra juice the day before.

Drinking green and feeling better.
I have had health issues most of these last years since my 80+ pound weight gain. It damn near killed me. From time to time I will struggle. BUT! With these right tools I get through and bounce back faster each time I have a situation I am faced with.
I must say I bring on these situations with bad choices and pay the price dearly with breaking down my immunity. Building it back up is only maintained and bettered through good healthy practices. Wheat grass is my shocker charge and a green smoothie is my base of needed nutrition for my immunity so I can keep away sickness or heal as I am doing right now.
I hope everyone had a great week end. Looking ahead again(as always) to a better week working on health through greenness :-)

Well I ate and drank off plan, well sort of.
Food choices were good, but we all know restaurants add a lot of things we should not be eating. Many will not accommodate request. I did ask each time.
It was our holiday and we enjoyed.
I handed the scale to DH this morning and told him to hold it at work until Friday.
I am back on plan today and will work my trousers off all week.
Did I have fun, ya butcha!
3 things to do in the Keys, water sports, very little sight seeing, eating and drinking. I did much of this.
Am I sorry, not at all.

I pawned those smoothies off on DH emoticon what a guy!

Today mine will be two, as I have the need and want for a green day. Listening to my body speaking to me. I am preparing for a huge month that will start tomorrow. I am cranking it up. I refuse to drag my butt into the new year with regrets, that I didn't work harder and work through the holidays and instead of them owning me... I will own them!

This week end, we are traveling down to the Keys and I know I may have challenges and I am building myself up so I do not fail.
First, I have to make sure I have a base that will not tire. When I am tired I am weak.
Second, I will have a clean filled system or should I say empty system LOL
So I will absorb the value of my foods and drinks BEFORE.

There is so many events coming up and I know I better start now; building that foundation of health to tackle with a strong offense. Instead of whining trying to fight defensively because I turned over my life to a bad game plan.

I made smoothies yesterday for the next few days, junk ones lol. Just taking all odd ball ends, bits and pieces of trimmings. Things like strawberry tops, kale stems, zucchini ends, softer oranges, very ripe fruits, a few wilted but still good salad greens. Waste not want not :-) I find the very ripe fruits are so sweet and full of great flavors.

So glad JSTETSER, so glad you are here and sharing, I am looking forward to sharing with you. It looks like you are on one great journey! How exciting!

Sometimes I just need to focus on doing one thing and do it consistently. It might be nothing more than walking 15 minutes each day and not worry about the food. Or do just a perfect breakfast everyday and not worry about the rest. Feeling that accomplishment seems to help me get back in the groove.

You can do this. Don't worry about being on track when you come here. For me here is accountability whether I am doing anything or not. It seems to help when I come and share even if I am not doing anything positive except writing about it....

I haven't been around in a while. Haven't been feeling very focused. Last week was rough. Trying to find a work life balance and not doing very well. Work is cranking and in general I like what I do. The problem is that the more effort I put into my work the less effort I put into eating properly and exercising. Junk food and lethargy become outlets for me. Ways to blow of steam. Not healthy and needs to change. Bottom line is that I am a work in progress. My focus seems to have a limited scope and different parts of my life get more of it at any given time. I still need to work on balance.

Being happy doesn't mean everything is perfect. It means you've decided to look beyond the imperfections. -unknown

Well I ate popcorn yesterday and owned every kernel and enjoyed every bite. Today I am back on track and going to eat and drink on plan. No slip, not disgusted in myself or consider what I did something awful.
Didn't walk as much as I wanted to, but also enjoyed my day and loved spending it with my two loved one....life is good!

Today I am buying a bike and going to start biking again. Made the old one into a yard ornament, it was a classic old bike with a basket.

The X purchased a copy of "Let Me Be Frank" and is circulating it around the family. It's all about accountability and features nutritional smoothies as a part of the plan. It's encouraging to see someone else make big changes but I'd like to be the one. Maybe if I make a video about myself I could get it done.

Today was suppose to be a different day then what it has become...doesn't that happen just to often. When you get caught completely by surprise and are standing there going; what happened, where did I lose control of my life? Well I could have lost control, but didn't. I came here instead.
I have smoothies made and in the fridge, meals planned, schedule set up and now to apply what I have set up for success. I am and will make it through what life has dished out once again. I will not be defeated.

We all need accountability! Since finding out about green smoothies and making myself one daily, most of my cravings have disappeared! Such a wonderful, blessed relief, because I could not control my binge eating.

So today I stand pretty firm in my health goals

Haven't had much time the past few days. Work was really busy so I had very little computer time. Not a great week for eating or exercise. When work cranks up, comfort eating increases. I have noticed this pattern before. Today I am working out with my trainer for 30 minutes so that will be a good workout. The rest of the day is busy ending with an early Thanksgiving type dinner at a friends house. I plan to focus on veggies as much as possible.

On weeks like this I realize that living a healthy life is not easy. It is a constant struggle for me and sometimes I get sick of the fight. I know I just need to regroup and start again. I just wish it was easier to do all the things we are "supposed to": eat healthy, exercise, meditate, sleep, etc.

Lowering carbs again in my smoothies, cutting down on the fruits a bit. Staying with berries and greens only for awhile or making savory ones as well.
Upping outside activity over the week end as well. Need to up my game a bit, getting to comfortable where I am at, and need to challenge myself more. If I don't I will just sit at this weight and I need to improve.

In this weight and heath game, we have to take time to work on our mental health too. We need heart times of life and enjoyment.
I know here on this team in the past many would cut back with such judgment and speak as if it were a sin to eat off plan or treat one's self to a dinner out. I truly believe if we can not live life in happiness why are we doing this then? If we can not enjoy life with loved ones over a meal, making the meal more important than them...why are we here then? To make food more important than life and love? NOT!
Yes be smart, but you know that. You make your choices for living the whole picture, not just one meal. I see life as a journey and food being a small part of it, yes important and important for health. But health is as well mentally and spiritually. Enjoy and have fun, make memories and laugh.

Today I will drink my water, yesterday I didn't. Yesterday a small smoothie 1 quart, not enough either. Dinner to high even though healthy in sodium...I am paying the price today. But will check this by cleaning and drinking healthy and moving my rear more as well.

Dang tamari, sesame seed oil and sea salt...it was tasty though :-) It was actually being stupid and lazy on my part. I knew I was making stir fry last night and I knew I would be adding flavors, and I knew that sodium takes away from me, and I knew I should have prepared for the pleasure and did not. As well as not counter acting with drinking afterwards either. Just being lazy. Once it is in the system, it needs to be flushed out. Salt in, water in, common sense. But just to lazy and bogged down to apply knowledge and action.

I do love exercise. It is a nice break from my day and I always feel good after. It is kind of on hold the rest of this week though. Maybe I'll get back tomorrow. I figured out why I have been so fatigued this week- TOM hit yesterday. I felt particularly terrible yesterday and skipped the gym. I also comfort ate with reckless abandon. Today I am skipping the gym too. Just not up for it. I also have a packed day with two meals out. Lunch with a coworker and dinner with my sister. I plan to be mostly behaved at lunch but dinner I am taking a free pass. My sister and I go to PF Changs two to three times a year. It is a fairly rare treat and I intend to enjoy it. Back at it tomorrow! I have another full work day but if I am feeling up for it I want to squeeze in some cardio.

Still doing smoothies for breakfast. At least I get some nutrition in even when the day takes a turn off track :)

Man oh man Lisa I wish I liked exercise as much as you do...or should I say determination with your exercising, as much as you do. What an awesome job you are doing!!

Smoothie was a quick fix this morning, had a sensible light vegan lunch and dinner will be healthy. I did errands today but still need to do my weights and extra walking. I best get to it!

Exercise is still going strong. I got in an elliptical work out and ST Monday and it was great. Monday night I was really tired. I woke up tired yesterday. I went to the gym anyway and just walked on the treadmill. It wasn't a challenging workout but it was a workout and that is what I needed.

Work was brutal yesterday! Go go go. Very active with lots of running around and going up and down stairs. Lots of trying to multitask and time everything just so. This lead to emotional eating. I got both lunch and dinner out. I got snack food with both meals. Not great.

I am finding sleep my biggest challenge. As my exercise has increased, my need for sleep has also increased. Yet, making time for exercise results in less time for sleep instead of more. It's an ongoing battle. I try to play catch up on the weekends but I know I need to find more time for sleep during the week. Work in progress. Eating better would be a great first step. healthy food gives more energy than unhealthy food.

Well I rested, but still worked on me. Drank green, ate green, walked 2 miles and lifted weights. Read and listened to some good healthy stuff.
I could have probable done more, but chose to step back a bit, so I would be able to do, the rest of the week.
Sometimes I get to critical on being perfect and need to step back, so I can stay on track. I learned the hard way a few years back. Thinking more was better and over did it and burnt out and walked away. It is smarter to take small breaks and renew and be consistent than over doing and getting fed up. Attitude will help or hurt you. If you feel a little bit weary make sure you address it before it takes over and you fall away from what works. My 2 cents, that I have to do for me.

Absolutely right- new week and back at it!

I took yesterday as a total rest day. I also got a little snacky and then topped it off with a big take out meal. We got a meal from a Japanese steak house- steak, veggies, rice, and CA roll. Overall not bad food choices but I had sauces that I am sure are full of salt and I ate WAY too much rice. I ended up STUFFED and it was not a pleasant feeling.

Today is a new day! I made my green smoothie, packed my food for the day, and got to the gym. I did 35 minutes on the elliptical and then 20 minutes of ST six exercise- 2 upper body, 2 lower body, and 2 core.

Feeling very good about it all. I made a lentil soup this weekend and have plenty of left overs for the week. My goal today is to find an oven safe dish that will fit in the toaster oven so I can warm it up at work. Another option may be a hot plate type of thing. Where there's a will, there's a way :)

A new week, and always trying to do better and never giving up.

Half the month is nearly past, but we have half the month left, to make changes and new healthy habits! emoticon

Green Smoothies is a way of making a great change, I am also adding a small healthy juice. I dusted the juicer off and will use it right after my wheatgrass shot. Them implement my green smoothies for the day. I will try and do two quarts at least 5 days this week. I will move it 5 days with walking. I will lift light weight 3X this week.

Yesterday we had a seafood dish that seemed high in sodium and I can feel it today. I am dragging. Gosh probable MSG as well. It is a sad state that even in a very nice restaurant you can not get a decent healthy meal. Even when asked they claim it is. NOT! I am getting to the point that I will seek out vegan from now on, as I can not trust the industry to serve a health one. I wish I knew of one that is honest enough to have organic healthy grassfeed or wild caught and not use additives to the product. Ok enough of my rant ;-)
Perfect solution would be, to eat it on the fishing boat LOL

You are so right Erin! Good stuff in, good stuff out!

This past week was amazing. I hope I remember that when the newness wears off or whenever I am tempted to go back to eating junk. Maybe it will stick this time.

Yesterday was another great exercise day. I did 4.11 miles in 40 minutes on the elliptical so I was back up to my 10 minute mile pace. That made me very happy. Eating is still on track. I splurged a little last night but it was all controlled and I had no urge to binge. I am learning that there are many healthy things I can eat that will give me a sense of indulgence. This makes old "unhealthy" treats less appealing. A big key for me is enjoying what I am eating. I have a hard time eating something just because it is healthy. There has to be some appeal to it otherwise I am tempted to eat something unhealthy that I do find appealing.

This is such a journey and learning and growing process of physical and emotional evolution. I am excited to see where it leads.

Me days can be so important! I hope you enjoyed it!

I am feeling a bit run down. My body isn't used to all this exercise. It is funny though, while I am fatigued and tired I still feel good. I have also been in a really good mood for no real reason and my thinking has been really clear. I have really been able to be productive and focused. Today was a long day. I worked from 7:30 to 7 and I only really felt it the last half hour. Round about 6:30 I knew I was all but done. I could feel myself checking out and knew it was time to wrap things up. Normally I would be spent and pushing myself from 4 on. Maybe there really is something to eating healthy, nutrient packed foods and exercising :)

I have been doing OK in that department. I find the only way I can be fine is pushing through and planning ahead. It does take work. But to have separate eaters in the house has to be rough. We all here finally eat the same. Thank God, no bucking. It has taken a very long time and a lot of work to get this way. Now they (DD and DH) just go with the flow, I think I have beaten them down enough they just give in LOL
I have had to work at it and having a lot of food choices have helped as well as busting my rear to create healthy tasteful options. I have had to back away from such a strict raw vegan to actually following a very simple paleo plan with lower proteins. Having meat/fish/egg proteins only once daily and getting the balance of proteins from plant sources.
Good Luck, I am so sure you will get it worked out...look how far you have come.
Bravo on the work out, awesome working it out. emoticon

You can do it Erin! The week is almost over.

I have liked the addition of flax to my smoothies. I have been having smoothies for breakfast instead of the chia porridge. I need to buy some almond milk and make some for a morning snack.

Another good exercise day. Today I did 45 min on the elliptical and 4.11 miles for an 11 min mile pace. My body is really feeling the exercise and I couldn't keep up the 10 min mile pace. I went longer though so I am happy with that.

I need to work on dinners. I have been working late and haven't had time to make dinner. I found a recipe book with some healthy recipes but many make huge servings, like 12. Way too much for just me. DH and I don't eat the same food. I am getting him to eat healthier but still very much SAD and far from healthy. I think making a batch of something on the weekend is my best bet. Then dinner is just heat and eat. The other thing is I am not really hungry for dinner when I get home at 7 PM. I can make lunch my big meal and like that but I can't easily heat stuff at work. We have a microwave but I don't use microwaves if I can help it. We also have a toaster oven but that isn't great for soups/stews and takes forever. I gave been having salads but those get boring. I need to work out a more workable plan.

Well to be very honest I am getting tired of the green drinking I may have over done it these last few days. I will have 2 quarts today in the AM only and then have some chewing for lunch and dinner. Cold at lunch and a cooked meal this evening. Steelhead trout, squash, cranberries and quinoa. I need it and my body is speaking to me.
Lunch will be a loaded salad with a smart dressing.
Last night I made my duo (DD and DH) a chia porridge for this morning. Chia seeds, almond milk, stevia, pecans, dried cranberries, and cinnamon. Let it set up overnight and then this morning they cut up an apple with it. I took exactly one teaspoon full and I wanted to cry. I wanted one too. BOOHOO poor me. Well it isn't like it would hurt me, but I will finish this week with half my day drinking green smoothies. I need this detox and am hoping it will restart my engines...no one said this journey would be easy, if it was I wouldn't need to be here then. LOL

I have tried romaine, red lettuce, and others(dinner salad stuff) and most are not appealing to me either.
My daughter is addicted to PB. I am slowly trying to get her off of it and over to nut butters. I did try something today that was different for her (she is skinny mini) I poured all the oil off the sunflower seed oil and added coconut oil, she loved it. Tossing that omega 6 oil. That is what I worry about. But I think the calories would be pretty much the same. But the health benefit would be so much better.
Great job on pushing the treadmill. Awesome.
I drank green again today, so far 3 quarts and hanging in there until dinner.
I want to finish the week with using them throughout the day and then have a sensible dinner.
I walked for a half hour at a quick pace, lifted 8# weights, sit-ups, a leg session too and will walk again this afternoon. I made sure I have been drinking my water, as I have a real issue doing this. So far so good.
I truly believe if we discuss what we are actively doing, it makes a difference. To bad more folks don't do this or as well share here more. But I like even the one on one. Sometimes in very large active groups so many of us get left behind or people get off of accomplishing to busy chatting it up about everything else :-D Which I like too LOL

I am very glad you started this thread Erin. It is nice to have an accountability buddy!

I totally rocked my workout this morning and that started my day off right. I did 3.51 miles in 35 minutes making my 10 minute mile goal. It was tough but I fought for it. I am using a resistance level of 3. No idea what that means other than it is harder than 1 or 2. When I can comfortably do a 9-10 minute mile pace I will up the resistance.

Had another green smoothie today. Basically the same as yesterday but left out the raspberries. I tend to fall into the pattern of greens, 1 banana, and berries (either strawberries, raspberries, or both). This week I started adding the TBSP of flax. I also like peanutbutter with greens and banana but try to make that less often. Peanuts don't have the best reputation. I use organic but still. I have tired using almond and cashew butter and find both bland- not worth the calories. I'd rather eat almonds or cashews. I gave up PB for a long time but I recently went back to it. Organic PB is far better than many other things I could be eating. If it keeps me away from the worse stuff, I am okay with it for now. Maybe in time I will transition to almond butter.

Once I get used to it, I actually like kale. It was just a bit strong for the first day back to smoothies. I love spinach and chard but I like to change things up. Oddly enough, I really don't like lettuces in my smoothies. They are supposed to have a mild taste but something about it doesn't work for me. Spinach is my favorite.

Lisa I found one and it is yummy, but cost a lot. Like $12.00 a bottle (small) eeks. I cut it out here, it was hard at first but don't miss it now. My daughter has adapted hot sauce in place of it. As well as salsa blended up too. We seem to have gotten away from it as we got away from processed meats.
I have to say, it is taking me some work on the dressings. I watch the oils especially the omega 6 oils. I love them and they are a no no. I use them in my Asian dishes and my Asian salads. I have to cut them out, so when this bottle is gone I am done.
I will use the real fruits or nuts/seeds instead. I have fallen in love with fruit dressings with herbs.
But the salad is more wet than oily and that is a mental thing for me. I like the oil and am in love with EVOO. My passion is Italian foods and I believe the love affair with high quality oils has been a down fall for me, as moderation has not been applied. I am getting better, at least I am not dipping bread into it any more. emoticon I do add a herb blend with it and a good quality balsamic with a squeezed orange, grapefruit, lemon or lime, or a combination of any of them.
I am glad to see you here Lisa and drinking green. Kale is a tough one for me. I usually blend it with spinach.

speaking of EVOO... I am not an oil person. I typically leave it out of recipes. I found a dressing recipe with lime juice, oil, and spices. I gave it a try today and it wasn't bad. I used sesame oil but not too much. Definitely more lime juice than oil. I used bragg sprinkles and dill for spices. I want to make up a mustard type dressing from mustard powder. That's my next dressing to try. I am getting used to adding a little oil but I am still not very comfortable with it. As far as condiments go, ketchup is a hard one to give up. Although, when not eating burgers and fries I don't have much need for it. I have yet to find a ketchup that I like as much as Heinz original. Even the organic version isn't as good to me.

Another good day today. I started the day with my first green smoothie in a while. I did 1 TBSP ground flax, kale, spinach, banana, strawberries, raspberries. The raspberries were an after thought. The kale taste was a bit strong after being away from smoothies for a while. The raspberries helped. The combination actually tasted like applesauce oddly enough.

Got in 35 minutes on the elliptical- 3.11 miles. I am shooting for a 9-10 minute mile pace. I used to be able to do that regularly but I am still ramping up after being away from exercise for a while. My body is feeling a bit fatigued from all the exercise lately. But in a good way.

Feeling very positive and motivated.

WOOHOO LISA!!!!!
Way to go after it!!!

I finished my day good. Today will be even better. I will walk more, move more. Continue drinking green and eating healthy. My issue is cleaning up my condiments. Getting rid of all bought items and use natural healthy alternatives that I make, not pouring so much EVOO and squeezing more juices on my salads and veggies.

Looking into a smoothie cleanse/fast.

Today was a great day. It was a holiday at work so I had off. Started the day with a workout- 40 minutes on the precor elliptical then I did 20 minutes of ST. Eating was right on target. Happy with all my choices. Great start to the week.

Hi everyone.
It is already the start of the second week in October. WOW!
What I have done and how I am doing today; accomplished to lose 1.5 pounds last week. I am pleased with that. My plans for this week is to continue to do what I am doing. Cleaning it up a bit more and as well. Continue to stay walking 2 miles 4X a week and doing light weights 3 X a week. Eating super clean and super healthy, but need to ditch some of my sodium filled "healthy" condiments. Added inflammation is not helpful. Upping the water will help as well. My two goals for this week.

I did view so much of "Hungry for Change", as well plan on viewing the Webinar this evening.
I loved the group video with all of them and the simplicity of how life should work for health and weight loss. It comes down to choices and making them. My emotional dependency and my addiction ....it's doable, but I know it takes constant work until I can get to the point where it is just another day and a constant, living this way.

I have added back so much of veggie(non starch) maxing out on the green part of veggies. Fruits too and still staying under 80 net carbs. I am eating lean proteins as well, adding healthy fats to my diet too. No grains, no sugars, no artificial sugar substitutes.

I am feeling amazing, eating and drinking a lot of my micronutrients and working hard on myself and renewing within myself, the will and discipline I need to accomplish this these next 6 months for my goals with a life time of health. To be honest, it isn't easy. But I know the hard work will pay off. I have many plans for a healthier lighter me.

Good luck with your plan Erin! I will be stopping by for updates! You are right, it is just one week and you can do it even if it gets hard. You might find it is not as hard as you think. In the long run I am shooting for an eating plan with no measurements or calorie counting. I figure if I am eating the right foods I should be fine without all of that. Truth be told I know when I am eating too much and I know when the scale is up even without hard evidence provided by measuring and weighing :)

I need a new do myself. My hair salon closed rather abruptly over a year ago and I have yet to find a new one. I have bangs and I cut those myself but the rest of my hair is just getting longer and longer. I like having long hair but it is getting to the point where it really needs to be cut. Keeps getting caught in things which gets annoying. One of these days I will venture out to find a new stylist.

Thank you Lisa, I needed a new do, as I was feeling old and wanted to get something peppy LOL

I love your plan! So glad to see you here as well, gets a little lonely over here in Green Smoothieville. But I am here and devoted to stay here, keeping the tourch burning. Yah what ever...LOL emoticon

I am not saying things like; I can't have that or I am dieting and have to not eat that. I know I can eat anything I choose to. I just choose not to.
I have been making healthier option recently with redoing recipes and enjoying it and them LOL
Green is a key for me, once I started adding it, I started craving it more.
I am feeling amazing, sleeping great, getting up early and the body seems to have so much more energy. I sound nuts, but look forward to making my smoothie. Not skimping on them at all. I have upped my greens, but as well upped my fruit. EEKS ME?! Yes I have :-)
This week is my break or make it week. I am going hard core 90% raw greens, veggies, fruits, and not holding back at all. I have a fridge filled with yummy choices all ready to toss, blend, eat and drink. I am giving it 100% for this week. Anxious to see how I do...it's only one week...one simple little week. No measuring, no weighing, no tracking, no scale....just going to do it and see what I end up with.

Walk through your journey with a loving open heart and as well mind. Treat others as you would like to be treated.

The countdown is on! Tuesday I am planning to get back on track fully. This weekend I am preparing myself and practicing. I am not shooting for perfection just a vast improvement in both eating and exercise. Focusing on fruits and veggies but not making any foods forbidden. I know it is best for me to cut down on dairy (affects my allergies) and the fewer processed/white flour/refined sugar foods I eat, the better (they lead to cravings and binges aside from the obvious lack of any health benefits). I want to get back to regular smoothies and regular salads. Greens have been all but missing from my diet lately and I know they are so important. Shooting for the old crowd out instead of cut out method. Meaning I add so many healthy things that I want to eat that I no longer think about the unhealthy things that I am used to eating. Biggest change will be daily exercise. I want to do 30 minutes a day but I will settle for as little as 15 minutes as long as it is daily. Work has really gotten busy and exercise has fallen by the wayside. There is no end in sight to my workload so I need to find a way to fit life in with it and that includes exercise, sleeping, cleaning the house, and hobbies. I have always been against hiring someone to clean the house but I am warming up to the idea as life gets busier and busier. I plan to spend some time in the morning doing some ST at least 2 times a week. The third time will be my weekly trainer workout which is 20-30 minutes long and killer. If I can't get to the gym for cardio I can certainly walk somewhere for 15 minutes. I know it is all doable now I just need to do it!

Love the new profile pic Erin!

Yesterday I drank the 3rd quart I made the day before. 2 quarts carried me to dinner and I also had one small snack.
Today I will make 2 quarts and try and do the same thing. This seems to be working as the scale is moving again slowly, but still moving.
I have planned for the week end meals and smoothies, staying away from restaurants, as I fail there.
Swimming and walking are planned as well.
My energy is great, as well is my attitude...I feel perky! Up at 4:00AM and ready for a great day!
Hope everyone else is enjoying the months of Autumn! emoticon

Slowly working; finally the scale is moving and surprising I am eating a healthy dinner along with protein. 2 large smoothies, a lot of veggies and 4 ounces of a protein at night. Walking and light weights....so far I feel good, and everything is OK
The green smoothies are a must for me. They are truly making a difference all the way around. Am I bored; a bit...but I know that they are healthy and that is a priority. Food to me should serve a purpose of health, not always a need for my pleasure. I give to myself what I need during the day and at night I have more of what I enjoy and like for dinner. I even had a glass of wine last night and 4 large hot wings :-O Now that is not boring at all. Yes it could have been a healthier choice, but it as well was fun. It will not happen very often, but it will happen. That for me is a reality. I will not stick with something that I can not have fun with as well. My biggest defeater; feelings of missing out. Now to keep it in moderation and know; as long as I plan ahead and prepare, I will be OK. I planned ahead and prepared and no issues on the scale today and even a pound down for the week. It is a start. Now to keep going and enjoying creating my own happiness in this journey.

Drinking them, but now need to clean up the rest of my act.
I have to make myself be responsible and JUST DO IT!
Lazy, complacent, to comfortable in my life with myself. I need to up my game and push myself!!!
My gosh we have such great examples here with our runners, our athletes....I want to better myself and get more active. May not run a race today, but at the least get out and push myself and hold myself accountable instead of making excuses not to do more, to do better!

I lost track of this thread for a while there. I had a cold for about a week but seem to be over it now. Still have a lingering cough but everyday it gets better. Work has been crazy busy. Long hours but I like it so it is not that bad- just tiring and I feel like I have no time for anything else. Exercise has suffered the most. I like to workout in a gym and I just haven't carved out time for it with my increased work load. I need to make that a priority. I also need to try to make myself do some strength training at home. There's no reason why I can't. There are so many body weight exercises that require no equipment and can be done anywhere: push ups, most ab exercises, squats, lunges. I just have to make it part of my routine. Food went off the rails for a while there. I had a good day yesterday. Hopefully the start of a streak. I am tried of fighting myself over food choices. I am also tired of starting over. I am especially tired of feeling fat and feeling like my clothes are too tight (because they are). There's a saying I read in a few places now "if you are tired of starting over, stop quitting" or something like that. I need to remind myself of that.

Hey Erin,

I just got back to sparking and plan to start posting as much as I can on my teams. I'm not consuming smoothies at the moment but totally intend to start again. I love them and even bought some spirulina this past weekend to add to them. I've been struggling with goals, etc. and such for awhile but getting back to some things. If you read my recent blogs you will see what I'm talking about. I've decided just today that I would go full vegetarian for the month of October. I've been 90% vegetarian but 10% of me also eats fish, so I'm labeled as Pescatarian which I hate being labeled. I decided since October is now referred to as World Vegetarian month, I promised I'd go full fledge for the month. So I will blog about it this week. I also got back to some sort of planned workouts too.

Happy Day!

Yesterday walked a lot but no speed, it was all done running errands, 4 hours worth.
Drank a small smoothie, it was a quick one with spirulina, trio powder and some whey protein powder.
Today a gem of a smoothie, I listed it in the logged and tracked smoothie area below.
I was hoping to see more people here sharing. Even if not drinking green perhaps just sharing on their health journey.
Hope everyone is having a great day in this new month of October!

I had my first green smoothie since June this morning! Oh my was it good. I have an app on my phone called "healthy habits" and you put in what you want to do either make a habit or break one and how many times in a day or week or month, etc. One of the habits I'm going to MAKE is a green smoothie everyday. Day 1, today, checked off!!!!

Oh my, where has September ran off to? I did not meet my weight loss goals for this month....but I did accomplish some things. Today I am not getting caught up in what I didn't accomplish, but what I did! May not have happened daily, but got better.
I set goals!
I did accomplish cleaning up my eating and yes drinking LOL (green drinking).
I did accomplish adding back Green Smoothies to my regular DAILY(most ;-) diet!
I did share more & reach out to others to help me in my journey & hopefully helped some too.
I did add more natural healthy choices to my diet.
I did track each day.
I did start measuring again.
I did sign in everyday this month.
I started walking and lifting weights again.
I did read or view a self help health subject daily .
I did get rid of all summer condiments.

What this has done for me; set me up for success these coming up days, weeks and months. Becoming healthy so my weight can and will adjust accordingly.

I just read all the posts in this topic and must say sadly, I went rogue this summer and suffered for it terribly. I was such a fan of the green smoothies, they got my day going and haven't had one since June :-( But I'm getting back on track and going to clean up the diet and start back the green smoothies. They kept me on my feet last winter (critical anemia) and I want energy back. I've had none all summer and in MN, summer you really need to whip it up while you can!!!

So happy to read the posts by lots that have struggled like me. Grocery shopping tonight, can't wait to get that kale!!!!!

I love this group! I'm back to read, learn and get support, and also, type, do what I can to help and give support! So glad the group never fell apart like some others have.

We all need to do what we are comfortable with, can live with or work with and toward. If a person wants to be a purest that is awesome. But just as awesome as a person working toward better heath with less restraints, my opinion of course.
Is one better than another no. It is your life, the only one you will ever have here on earth, enjoy and live it your way. Being that you are here working for a healthier better life says a lot about you.
I can tell you what appears to the public is not always what is lived. It has been a journey for her as well, and over time.

Renegadehealth....is a couple that has expanded their raw vegan lives and have become what they call a high raw life style. You might want to check this young couple out. I have followed them(not religiously)off and on and in their journeys. They have learned and as well made choice for themselves that are healthy. They continue in learning as much as possible. They get some guff for expanding their life outside of the purest circle and live well.
Another person here that I admire a great deal is Sweetlips. Check out here journey. We do what we can for ourselves and what is necessary for our own journey and health.
She as well could use our support , as she is going through some major health issues. She has fought back before, with winning over cancer and now she is battling heart issues. There are no guarantees we will have perfect health and any program is a miracle healthier, but eating clean in my opinion is the better option.

Well I am up early and we will be at our destination this afternoon. It will take us awhile to get settled and then I will have more time here. I believe in green smoothies in what they provide us. I am very excited about what is in store for for me with Florida and adventuring into more new green smoothies.
