I am totally going to invest in one ASAP. This sounds like a wonderful way to never buy that stuff in a carton ever again for my kids. Does anyone know if you can add other frozen fruits to the yonana? Has anyone tried?

Great ideas. Thanks for sharing :) I did notice that the bananas definitely have to be fully frozen. We were impatient when we first got it and put ones in that were only partially frozen and it made a mess ha ha Lesson learned :)

I have one suggestion; read and also view a few youtube videos. I truly believe it is easy, but I think when there is a bad review it is because; they have not understood or followed directions. Like the plunger, no forcing. Use with direct pressure, but not hard pushing frozen fruits through. If you push to hard the frozen yum will go into the inner part and cause a mess. Also, you have to set your frozen fruit out ahead. I do not like microwaving anything (they suggest you can do this) So I let my frozen fruit set out about 10 minutes. Frozen fruits need to be hard rock frozen to start with. An over night quick freeze won't cut it. Ripe bananas, are the best. I peel and cut in 3 chunks and freeze in a zip lock baggie with air in it, so they can move freely; evenly frozen and no sticking together. So I can take out what I need. Check your stores for ripe bananas on sell, so cheap. I got a huge bag for $2.00 the other day. Made three large baggies full. I freeze the smoothies in ice cube trays and when done also but in baggies. I toss in a couple with each small batch. Hey any way I can get them to eat their greens :)
Good Luck and enjoy!

I've been wanting to buy one but wasn't sure it would be any good. Hopefully I can buy one soon. The stuff you guys are putting into it sounds so good. I am on the hunt for a coupon for it.

You can fold anything in it you want. I froze a few mint leaves and added them to the berries and banana, through the machine. We have folded in raisens, maple syrup, nut butters, nuts and dates and figs processed with nuts...like you would use for desserts. My daughter folds in granola, kashi cereals and I have ran frozen smoothie froze in ice cube trays. Let your mind wonder and create.

Oh my! We are in love with our yonana. It is just great. I am thinking next time I am going to add some vanilla to it because we love that taste. Has anyone tried that? I want to know if they were successful or not :)

I bought it but haven't tried it. When I went on Bed,Bath, & Beyond's site to look it up I find a 20% off coupon. All I had to do was join their email list. It was a a win,win because they always email coupons out for future use. emoticon

Sounds like a good plan!
I know my grandchildren are going to love it this summer too. A nice fun way to share with anyone. And so much healthier.

Thanks! I know that in the summer my husband and I eat ice cream much more often :) I figured that I could add our favorite toppings and have a more nutritious snack.

....yes it does, some.
the beauty is; that what you like freeze it and use it...veggies and fruit wise. I also freeze my smoothie and have ran it through it was OK. Topping are your choice and you can fold in items as well. I folded in raisins and nuts the other day...oh my was it good. You don't need a lot to get the effect of yumminess :)
I hope you enjoy it as much as we do.

Oh wow, I'm thinking I need to get this for my daughter to make the fresh good stuff for my grandboys! I personally don't like bananas in my smoothies. I can eat a banana out of the wrapper (ok peel) but that's it, no other way and don't like their flavor in anything! (I grew up in the south and a staple every week was "nanner pudding" and banana nut bread........NEVER ate them, prolly the only nights I skipped dessert! LOL

Thanks for posting, I think the grandboys will LOVE it cause they (especially the little 14 mo old) LOVE ice cream!

I have been thinking of buying this myself. I actually was going to try eating just a bit of frozen banana to make sure I like that before buying it. I am pretty certain I will like it and end up buying one :)

Erin, I have one too and I love it much. My granddaughter chukles when I am making her soft serve - and thanks for the idea of putting in the greens - um, um, oh, granddaughter Ajia, watch out - Big Momma is going to get those greens in you wet: emoticon

Now that I am back to work after being laid off for over a year, this is an item I will be buying when I catch up with my bills. I have been intrigued with this since it first came out. Since it is specifically made for this I am hoping it is less wear and tear on my food processor.

Great idea Erin to use some greens in their for the kids. I think green colored ice cream would fascinate them. I don't think kids would say oh gross but say oh cool!

PS: I found a coupon for Bed, Bath, and Beyond. I think my charge card is saying use me. emoticon

We just bought this and we are loving it.
We got ours at Bed Bath and Beyond $50.00.
What we think....yum!
Small, simple to use and even my daughter (13) can use.
Yes the food processor could do the same thing or your vitamix, but this is simple and the grandchildren will love watching, creating and eating.
It is a bit loud, but I forgot about that as soon as the smooth soft serve started coming through.
Frozen fruits and then you can add other items and stir in.
Well I am going to take some of my green smoothie this morning and freeze in an ice cube tray and see what happens when I add that to the soft serve...maybe a way I can get the grandchildren to eat greens. I can't see why it wouldn't work for veggies too as long as you can freeze them. I will be trying that for sure.
