just the one for April still. but once I get that under my belt I'm going to really make a push for things like wedding shows. I need to get my name out there but I also need more experience as I'm going it alone with out formal training or any aprenticing. I'm improving in leaps and bounds so I'm hoping to be over prepared for this one because I think at this point it could make or break my hopes of getting into weddings...at least for some time.

I've shot a couple models in the past 2 weeks. They are both so pretty but the one was so gorgeous and she kinda reminds me of carrie underwood :)

Glad you got the chance to look at it. It's always good for ideas to see what someone else is doing. Maybe next year you'll have a "Santa"!!!
My son-in-law is also a great photographer as a hobby but he does mostly nature. I soooo envy his camera and maybe one day I'll invest in a better one.

she's good :) I'm jealous of one thing...I had tried to find a Santa for a day of mini sessions but had NO luck :( I see that she found someone to play Santa :) however I'd been told the one guy that lives in my building that does light superintendent work was down in my buildings lobby christmas morning or eve dressed as santa. so I asked him and hopefully I'll be able to have a santa this coming year :D

Marie, thought you might like to take a look at my cousin's wife page in fb....Nannie's Snapshots. She has no professional training but is doing quite a business. May give you some ideas. The more you can "get yourself out there" the more business you'll get.
Glad to hear you got to take some more pics. You can do it!!!!!

I just looked at some of your photos......you have some great shots there. The first weddings Mark ever did were my kids. He was a nervous wreck but did a great job. He also had one camera for black and white which made for some interesting shots. It helps if you have an assistant but he did both weddings on his own also. You are so right about being busy. He did attend the rehearsals for both and it did make a difference so you'll have to remember for the next one.
You really should check into some courses. Not only would you have a certificate but you'd also get some new "pointers". Good luck to you. You could have a pretty good future doing this.
You have a great weekend also

well my big brother had a snowboard at one time so maybe when I was like 9 or 10 I got to go down a local hill on it a few times...I liked it better than skiing...less to get mixed up and tangled up in lol
I've only shot two weddings. one was very informal...an eloping if you will. the other this past june was my first formal wedding. I was the only shooter and WOW was that ever a learning experience! I got SOO much exercise running around(I wasn't just to photographer...I was the only one who had a lint roller-which two of the groomsmen appreciated- and I got to help the bride use skin tape for her straps...I guess no one else really know how to use it lol so I wasnt just a photographer, I was a wardrobe specialist lol) there was only ONE part of the ceremony I missed(surprisingly) and now I make it a point to ALWAYS be at the rehearsal dinner so I know whats going on and when so I never have that happen again(wasn't a big part but I'm still kicking myself over it)
I'm excited that I have another wedding booked for April. (theres an album for the couples engagement pics-chris and melissa)
I have NO formal training but I'm starting to look into professional photography courses now. I think people would take me more seriously if i had a certificate or diploma of sorts. plus...it never hurts to learn :)
I have tried skating...I still can't do it lol my ankles are almost magnetized to each other and the ground lol
Hope you have a great weekend :)

Well, must say I'm impressed! I could never see myself coming down a snow covered hill standing up.....give me a toboggan, snow tube or the good old flying saucer. lol I use to love to ice skate but haven't done it in years.
Now photography....one of these days I'm going to get myself a real good camera. I love some of the pictures my SIL takes A good friend of my kids majored in photography (he did both their weddings and that is a job!!). It's a difficult field to find work in so he's been doing everything but.
Don't say you can't ice skate til you try. My kids and their spouses all wanted to ice skate and they showed my DIL how. She took her time and was so excited. They had a ball and plan on doing it again. She even has her own skates now!
Have a great day. I'll be heading up to Rochester, NY to spend a long weekend with my DD an DSIL so don't know how much I'll be on. So, Have a great weekend also!!!!

well lately I don't do much...I hate people so I try to avoid them(sad but true) but in my past I played softball, and was part of a bowling league for 2 years(not super athletic but oh well lol)
I love swimming and I would love to do snow boarding if I could get my hands on a board...and it would snow like it's Canada lol. I used to go on ski trips with my elementary school and would love to do that again.
I was a gymnast as a child and on my high school team in grades 9 and 10....
The only sport I've really wanted to do but couldnt is figure skating. it's so beautiful but I couldn't skate to save my life!
I've always been an active person :) although these days its mostly just walking...and my day/night job is drywalling. so a lot of times my arms get a good workout(mostly wrist and forearm) and my legs get lots of steps in because of the up and down on triggers :)
I also found out this past june, when I shot my first formal wedding....thats a killer workout too. about 7 hours of non stop going...and because the bride was fairly short it involved lots of squats lol...now I'm rambling...a sign that its bed time. Have a good night Mary Anne :)

I'm hoping to get my bruins shirt washed for saturday(even if I can't watch the game :P) and I'll be wearing the bruins necklace Vicki sent me last year(seems so long ago hun!) :)
oh and I really don't care to watch sports. I've gotten into watching hockey but I really can't focus unless it's the B's playing. I'd rather get out and do the sports than watch them(even if I suck-which I'm not saying is true lol)

Well, I was born in Maine and my kids grew up in MA so we're die hard New England team fans from baseball to hockey. Even my SIL cheers for all the teams. My DIL and I have an agreement - she cheers for her teams unless they're playing a New England team and I cheer for her teams unless they're play a New England Team. We have a lot of fun with it and we're all sports nuts.

My younger girl (PolyDactyl is 11 1/2) is still looking for her and takes naps in Ms Molly's basket. I was getting ready to put it away and found her sleeping in it. We've had some very special kitties through the years. They have always amazed us and each one has been special. They all been with us until the age of 18 or 19. We've been very lucky. I can't imagine every being without kitties around.
I am looking forward to the games starting. Only wish I could see more of them. Sometimes when they're here in Philly, my son tries to get tickets so we can go. Love it!!!

Thank you :)
We actually havent gotten that much. a day here or there. My city is right on a bay and I think that gives us kind of a shield from the worst weather.
I'm photographing a wedding tomorrow...its been a daily change in the prediction...one day its supposed to be thuderstorms and the next they say just rain...at least one day this week it was just supposed to be cloudy so I'm preparing for rain but hoping for 'partly cloudy' :)
Your pictures were great. I've always enjoyed walking in the rain - just not a cold rain. It does feel good.
Have you been getting a lot of rain???? My folks live in Maine and they state has had some flooding.
Enjoy the "showers".

So I hope everyone's well, yesterday evening my city(in south ontario) got a strong but short storm. I posted some pics in my blog-if you havent checked it out yet :)
I waited for it to START raining for my walk wednesday, I finally get out and its was just spitting, I was thinking 'GREAT I'm in time to get soaked!'
I LOVE walking in the rain...I'd rather be soaked in rain than sweat...I think it has something to do with feeling cleaner lol
I only got that bit of spitting because it had stopped within about 5 min of my walk ...grrrr
so yesterday I got a pretty good dousing :D still not soaked(my pants were barely damp) but much better lol
Hi Marie! We're having the same type weather here in PA. I worked in the yard for a little bit this morning and came in soaking wet. Heading for the pool now.

how's everyone weather now? It's supposed to get close to 30(90) herer today with the humidity pushing it MUCH higher! the humidity is supposed to make it feel about 36C which is 96.8F!!!
any one who thinks canada is all ice would be truely surprised lol
I'm with you, Marie. I have been in Maine helping my folks and the temps went from the 80's to snow!!!! Finally got back to PA and we've had two very cold nights. My poor plants are so confused.
I have been out of touch with the games so thanks for the update.

Well ladies, I'm not too concerned about ottawa beating us for the division title but I'm glad we're gaining some more breathing room :)
Today has been the coldest day for at least a couple of weeks now. it was only up to about 6(46F) as compared to the 20-25(70-80ish F)
sooo I can't wait for summer to come back...why did it have to leave? :(
we hit 75 here today.....spent time in the yard again
