Hi Ladies, it has been a good day and lots going on at work. I am working on an event and trying get our response rate a little higher. We are planning a buffet in three industrial warehouse spaces - we are doing a treasure theme and attendees need to go to each space to get a gift. The event is the 30th - it’s like a wedding with the planning -lol!

Met tom for dinner and we had udon - a nice walk in the mall - 10,000 steps. Going to bed early. Have a evening ladies.

I'm sorry my posts have been short - it's been a busy stretch and I'm making sure I get enough rest. Have a good night all. kellie

So, it was insanely busy today. It was mentally and physically draining. 10 hours non stop. I did do a 60 min spin. I did pack my nice salad for lunch. I managed to juggle surgery, cases (I had some brain benders) the ultrasound demo, and full afternoon of full moon patients. Full moon- people and animals get werewolf crazy. Today it was the dogs. Tonight my entire staff, self included, all were peed, pooped, and the specialty of the day anal gands expressed all over us.

I am now the owner of an awesome new ultrasound machine, however. So it is exciting, but I need to learn an entire new computer and probe setup. I think the cardiac scans will be the toughest. If it works out I will end up spending the weekend of my Vacation in may at the ultrasound classes in beautiful Bedford Hills, NY. Who needs a vacation???

I had leftover salmon, brown rice and snap peas. Measured and tracked.

I turned the TV on and they were doing the tribute to the marathon victims and survivors. The news was interrupted, some crackpot in a black veil just went through the crowd and put down 2 backpacks at the finish line amongst groups of survivors and families. They are trying to see if this is real or a bad hoax. How F'ed up is this??

Beryl so glad your Seder went well. I hope your next one goes well, too.

Peg, I understand your frustration. The year after my neck surgery, I was not allowed to do anything. I was lucky, because I am fairly strong I was allowed to lift 10 lbs where most people are restricted to 5 lbs. in perspective, a gallon of milk weighs 8 lbs. Maybe you can get some of your garden group to help. A sharing of strength and gardening skill.

DH just came in with a movie. I am off for the night.

First seder went well. Exhausting but fun. 4 glasses of wine? I think I had that before dinner started! lol
Tonight we're down 2, so only 11. I don't need my second table, just my one big dining room table will do. Plenty of food. Tonight is my carrot soup, green soup, poached salmon, chicken cacciatore, filet with red wine/caramalized onions, salad, quinoa salad, broccoli/avocado salad, and who knows what else. Lots of leftovers.
My HRM doesn't seem to sync up with the band. DD figured it all out, and it SHOULD work but doesn't. I'm going to return it and go online for a Polar one....
Lori, rest up today.
Peg, frost?? Please get some garden help. Enjoy pilates.
DrSue, sorry you have that extra expense now, and it's good/bad you're so busy.
Heidi, keep on keeping on. Our bodies do what they want sometimes.
Nicky, enjoy your time at the ranch. Snakes and all!
Kellie, how is this week going?
DD1 and I did muscle pump and 1/2 a zumba class today. I'm beat!!
Have a good day ladies! emoticon

Good morning Team!
LORI and BERYL, it's good to hear that everyone's celebrations went well and the food sounds delicious! I'm still trying to figure out what I'll have for our Easter brunch.
DR SUE, overly busy though you may be, please remember to take care of yourself. (The Bahamas sound very nice, though)
LORI, good job on the walking.
BERYL, looking forward to your review of the HRM.
NICKY, hope you've enjoyed (are enjoying?) the ranch. This is the time of year around here when the critters come out to play and so one has to be AWARE when hiking....snakes and bears with their cubs. There's been a big controversy about mountain lions...some people saying they've seen them and have pictures and the DEC denying that they are here at all.....who knows?
KELLIE, all rested for back to work? The weekend sounded great.
HEIDI, read your post on fb and sorry to hear that our fearless leader also doesn't get the expected results after following a plan to the tee. As you wrote, you won't give up and good for you!
Worked just a little in the garden yesterday, finally got some seeds in. But it was quite sad in that I have come to realize that I might not be able to put in my new garden by myself. Lugging a large bag of garden soil was almost too much for my back. Thinking I'll have to look for a neighbor with a tiller and then see if a truck can get the load of dirt close to the garden site instead of my plan to haul lots and lots of bags. I will work this out.
Off to pilates in a few.
Can you believe that we might see some snow flakes before this storm is done? The temperature drop is supposed to be extreme. (and of course, now the magnolia's buds are full and showing color.....oh well...)

Good morning. I posted yesterday and apparently is posted out in cyberspace alone.

This is a very long week for me. My other Doc is in the Bahamas, so it is all me. I ended up working through most of lunch yesterday. Not enough time to come home for lunch. I was good and went and got a hummus and veggie wrap sandwich with a side of carrots, vs chips. My 2003 ultrasound machine has finally reached its end of life. The machine is ok, but the software to send video clips to specialists is no longer supported. We spent 2 days trying to get a cardio case uploaded. So, after several phone calls, I am demoing a new machine over lunch today. I have a lecture over lunch tomorrow and rotary over lunch Thursday. Ugh!

Lori, I'm glad your holiday went so well. The food sounds great. Great on the walking.

Beryl, I'm sure your celebration was incredible too. Great on the new HRM. I know it will be well used.

I hope Nicky is enjoying her ranch. Where is our Heidi?? Kellie you seem to be adjusting well.

I am off to spin. Have a great day everyone!

Hello Team,

Our very first Seder went very well. I only cooked 4 dishes and I was so burnt out and ready for the wine, sheesh. I cooked a kick b--t chicken soup and homemade matzo balls. I made broccoli Kugel, it was delicious but didn't sit well with my lactose intolerance, tho took two lactaid. DH loved it so that was well worth it. My very favorite was the charoset. OMG, so good. Green apple, (Nicky, close your eyes) walnuts, Majool (sp) dates, craisens and wine. AmAzInG! My kitchen is still a mess but I need to rest. Tomorrow, a new bridge at the DDS.

My Beryl, did you get in your 4 glasses of wine? We poured 4 times but only 1/4 or so of the glass. It was a Malbec, Kosher and delicious. Who knew.

Hello ladies, how was your weekends, camp, Nicky and Dr. Sue? Peg, your garden and Kellie your schedule? We walked 4 miles in our beautiful paseos and that was too much for my body. But I really love walking.

Well I'm gonna say good night and send hugs, Lori

~ Lori ~

I'm here because I want to be healthy.

Loooong day. Some good, some bad.
The weather was glorious here!! Oh my gosh, just spectacular. Went for a long walk in my favorite park today. Takes me an hour up and down some REALLY BIG hills. Whew.
Bought a HRM today. It's a CardioConnect by Sport line. The folks at Sports Authority were wonderful. Hopefully DD1 can set it up for me tomorrow when she comes in.
Lots of cooking done. 2 pans of chicken, roasted vegetables, 2 kinds of soup (carrot and green), quinoa and roasted vegetables, marinated cucumbers, ratatouille, broccoli salad, 7 layer salad, poached salmon, gefilte fish, and I forget what else!! My house is a disaster area!!
Peg, it must have been the full moon--my mother also lashed out at me. Hopefully your mother's meds will help her. I don't think that's the case with mine. Made an innocent remark about her taking it easy from all the running around she's doing. Whoops. Wrong thing to say...
But tomorrow's another day. And a gorgeous one at that. Enjoy it ladies!! emoticon

Hi Ladies, I took it easy today - slept in and got caught up around the house. I went to my favorite Indian place for masala last night. It was delicious. Spent a lot of time with Tom and it was great to wander about in the sunshine taking in the small stories of the town over. The weather had been awesome in Philadelphia.

Peg, I’m glad that Mom is getting her meds - maybe when she feels better, her mood will improve.

Beryl, I hope you feel better - sorry for all the running around with no fun!

Dr. Sue, congrats on being down 1.2 :) that’s awesome news.

Have a great Sunday Ladies! Kellie

Hi Team!
Yesterday's Garden Day went very well; it was a sell-out. It was also exhausting.....worked there from 7:30 - 5:00. And then today I felt like a slug. I think tomorrow I'll plant some seeds, then to a wake for a friend's mother and then to watercolor class. btw, mom seems a little better just taking the thyroid med. (Did I tell you that her doc prescribed thyroid med and B12 shots?) Waiting for the B12 to come in to the pharmacy and then DD2 (the RN) will give her the shots. I'm hopeful, considering Friday night was another bout of accusations. Her appetite seems to be coming back.
Just jumped on to leave a short message, both my phone and internet have been out most of the day....boo
Hope everyone has had a good weekend.

Peg

Happy Sunday everyone.
YAY DrSue on being a loser! 1.2 is huge! I, of course, despite my raving anxiety, gained....
Went to Dick's yesterday to get a HRM. I will NEVER go there again. Terrible kids working there, couldn't have been bothered helping anyone. Will try Sports Authority today.
Cooking frenzy. UGH. It's coming together though. Did get a call about an hour ago asking if we can watch Jo. I offered last week since DD is working today and DSIL has to study. Heard nothing. So now we are. Whatever.
Out to dinner last night at our favorite Italian place so disappointing. Ordered my meal on whole wheat pasta. Came out on white. Sent it back, by the time it came back was too late to eat it. TOok it home. Got it home--there's some shredded meat, I assume pork, in it. ACK!! Not meant for me to eat it. I get that message!
Off to continue to cook. Jo is here and Bob is setting up her portacrib (or wharever they call it nowdays) with her help. lol
Have a good day ladies. Allergies are bad!!! I can see the green on all the cars... emoticon

Nicky, snakes and mountain lions, oh my! It wouldn't keep me inside either. I did start doing my runs and walks a little later after Quint and I met Mr Bear.

Beryl, enjoy your celebration. I missed the dove thing. I hope your back is feeling better.
Maybe the teachers at the high school will be smaller?

I was down 1.2 lbs this week. I need to get out and finish my mulching. I want to spend a good amount of time in my yard. First I need to go spin. I may zip up to a farm and see what local produce they have.

Nicky--mountain lions??? WTH??? Snakes??? I'd be inside with a book. Just sayin....
Just had to push a hugely overweight teacher up to my office because she fell outside and couldn't walk. Now I can't either. Jeezy peezy--took 3 ibuprofen and have an ice pack on my back. FOod for thought there! I dont' want anyone hurting their back pushing me anywhere!
Have a schedule written out of what I need to do, my shopping list done, and a menu. Feel much better now.
There will be LOTS and LOTS of wine these next few days.

BERYL!! The Dove thing is positively tear-worthy!
Cause for pause.
State of mind is everything. We let a number on the scale ruin an entire day.

Packing up for the trip to the ranch (haha). It's my least favorite part.
There's a refrigerator and freezer up there, but we lose electricity quite frequently, so I can't really leave anything except olive oil and unopened waters.

I used to leave ice cream and popsicles when the children were younger. One time the electricity went out, and I came back to THAT, plus sticky mold!! Lesson learned.

It will be cool enough to hike the trails and still a little cool for the snakes, so it's a perfect time. I don't go up into the deep trails any more because the ranchers have warned me about the mountain lions. I do carry a gun, but I've only ever killed beer cans. I also carry an extending stun gun and pepper spray. Hey, they don't call me NICKYNONUTS for nothin'. Just sayin'.
Nevertheless, I feel safest hiking the dirt roads when DH doesn't come along. He'd rather play bulldozer, so it's me and Bryce.

DRSUE, I'm drooling over your dinner. Your description of garlic cheese bread is art.
The dwarf flowers are something right out of My Little Pony.

Hope the weekend is marvelous for all of you. I'm coming back Tuesday or Wednesday.

When you arise in the morning,

give thanks for the morning light, for your life and strength.

Give thanks for your food and the joy of living.

If you see no reason for giving thanks, the fault lies in yourself.

Oh my team, I am tired. DH had dog for the bulk of the day, and took him for a very long walk. After my spin, I walked to work, had a full surgical docket, walked to rotary and back, full afternoon appointments- with no emergency slots available from 2:30-5:30, walked home and made dinner. I grilled shrimp and asparagus, and I made a grilled caprese garlic bread. So a slice of good bread with olive oil, grilled and rubbed with garlic, then I put it on a cooler spot on the grill and added fresh mozzarella and fresh tomato. Soooo yummy. I bypassed bread at rotary lunch saving for that. It was a Spring/summery dish

So, Spring is most definitely here. I almost fell over, as I came across my yard, I looked down and one bunch of my dwarf irises were in bloom!! I'm sure you know what irises look like. My dwarves stand 1 1/2 inches high, and the dark purple and yellow blooms are maybe an inch wide. They are so cool. I found those and dwarf tulips one season, and bought them because they are early bloomers. They have both thrived. When I look for them in the catalogs, I don't find them. They are both slowly spreading.

Lori the Paseos sound beautiful. Enjoy. You are smart to have the pepper spray, smarter to walk with a friend/hubby. People get clueless wearing earbuds. Not only do you miss the sounds of the natural world around you, the natural senses are obscured and you can be an easier victim. Me being out and about with a 95 lb Dobe does help in the security concerns.
Just be smart.

Ok, I am off. I hope everyone is doing well!

BERYL, can't find "I'm Not Jared." What's the subject?
Los Angeles is a year-round flipflops location, so I keep my pedicure all year. I don't polish; I do the "natural" buffing thing.

LORI, that's outrageous that laptops don't have an internal DVD slot. I guess those slots are going the way of 8 tracks. Soon we'll be downloading everything and there will be no CDs or DVDs. Whatta world.

I'll go to the Apple Store in Santa Monica to check it all out and maybe purchase online or at Frye's. As I told BERYL, I'll NEVER go in to Best Buy ever again.

So, you say I shouldn't get the warranty at the store? I usually purchase ipod extended warranties but haven't for my phone. I get the phone through AT&T and am due for an upgrade in July. I use my iphone until the battery starts getting ridiculously run down quickly. Because I use a PC, it's not easy to restore the backup.

I just can't decide whether to go laptop or desktop; both have their advantages AND shadow sides.
Another white girl problem. emoticon

When you arise in the morning,

give thanks for the morning light, for your life and strength.

Give thanks for your food and the joy of living.

If you see no reason for giving thanks, the fault lies in yourself.

Good morning team,

Peg, the Paseos are strictly walkways where cul-de-sacs meet, there's no cars no streets no traffic just trees and flowers and bushes and so beautiful and it goes all around the city. My husband and I walked the Paseos for 2.47 miles last night it was just so lovely the weather has cooled down enough to do that. Here it's been in the high 80s or even high 90s so nighttime is preferable. My friend told me yesterday that people have been robbed or beat up in the Paseo's and that really upset me so I went out yesterday and bought some pepper spray. I thought I was so safe because there are homes everywhere and many older people walking their their dogs. I'll send you a picture via Facebook so you can get an idea.

Nicky, Apple is no longer making laptops with everything in them:( What they are making now is MacBook pro air and it has a hard drive but you have to have an external "super drive" to play or copy a CD/DVD. It is much lighter making it very portable however I like the MacBook Pro 2012, which is still available and has everything in it. I'm thinking that you should go to an Apple Certified store, called Mac, let them show you the pluses or minus of the 2012 MacBook Pro as opposed to the new MacBook Pro Air. That may be the only thing you need. I purchase all my Apple products at Best Buy. I do this because there is a price difference which is in our favor. However I don't buy their warranty I purchase apple care plus through Apple. The apple care plus is a must when you purchased any Apple product. It's relatively cheap and it guarantees that what ever goes wrong with your phone or computer or iPad that they will fix it at the Apple store at no cost to you for three years. Believe you me I have used my warranty on all my Apple products, so the warranty pays for itself quickly. When you actually purchase your Mac let me know, I can show you a site that you can buy AppleCare for much less than you can from Apple itself. Also I do hope you enjoy your weekend it sounds like fun.

Dr. Sue, I love hearing about your spins, however, they seem painful. I hope you really enjoy your Camp this year and look forward to hearing all about it.

My Beryl, I'm just stuck in a place where I don't know which way to lean, all I do know is I cannot be kosher in a house with opposing factors as I've mentioned before. I hope you enjoy your pedicure.

Kellie, hey, I'm sorry you were feeling so stressed. Your new job is going well and I am hoping that everything will settle in around it. So when does your fishpond and garden come out of the house?

My team, I see people walking at the park it's hot and all it is, is going around and around to make a mile four times it's not an adventure but it pretty. When I walk the Paseos it is an adventure it is beautiful it's like being away from it all. It's more shady much cooler and enjoyable.

~much love, Lori

Good morning Team!
What a beautiful day!
It is definitely spring....the male goldfinches are yellow once again!
Off to pilates and then I'll work in the yard a little. There are some parts that are dry enough to work in.
Another sign of spring (BERYL) is talking about the necessity of a pedi emoticon
and yet another, DR SUE battling the mouse poop at the camp.
Hi LORI, KELLIE, NICKY and HEIDI. Hope everyone enjoys the day!

I did a 75 min spin today. Boy do I feel it. I didn't go too crazy on the resistance. I could feel my knee and lower back complaining.

Kellie, I lived in the Kingwood Apartments on K of P my four years in vet school. Is Fiddlers G Green still open?

Beryl enjoy the pedi. I think I need to have someone massage me for a while!

Off to Surgery. Have a great day.

Good morning ladies. Still cool enough in the morning to need a jacket, but not by the afternoon. YAY for that. Hoping to get a pedicure in the next few days so I can start wearing my cute sandals to work. Can't with my feet looking like they do now! Just polish won't do it!
Kellie, so glad work is going well! It was stressful in the beginning, so hopefully it's settling down.
DrSue, enjoy the spin. Nice about the cabin in a couple of weeks!
Lori, take a deep breath. It'll be fine, whatever you do. I promise!
Peg, please post more pictures!
Nicky, have you seen the "I'm not Jared" video from Dove on Youtube? Watch it and tell me what you think.
Have a great day team! emoticon

Hi ladies! I have been getting to bed early and trying to catch my breath - work is good - I was stressed on Monday, I'm not sure why, and decided to watch my caffeine in take!!

We have an office in the king of Prussia, which is near my house, so my boss said I can work there one day a week! yay !!

I'm going take a look at everyone one's posts later - I'm just so glad it's nice out - warm weather and sunshine :)

Have a great day!

Quick Good morning everyone. I need to go spin.
Lori, I'm so glad you are walking again. Good for you.
Beryl, amazing Passover plans. Enjoy the new Polar HRM, I have the red one. I bought it a dicks sporting goods.

Nicky, have fun at the ranch, just hide the lighter fluid. I head to my camp the last weekend of the month. I'm looking forward to getting there and seeing my folks. I'm not looking forward to the mouse poop.

Peg I believe it is Sping. I am quite sure this morning I heard a few spring peepers down in the conservation land. Of course the sounded like thier teeth were chattering, as it was only in the 20's. it is supposed to break 60 today, so we will see.

Hi to everyone else, I have to get on my bike. I'll try and check in later, but I have a crazy day scheduled.

Nicky, isn't it funny the different experiences we can all have with places? We had a fabulous experience with BB buying our new phones in November. Wouldn't go anywhere else. As my mother says, that's why Howard Johnson's has 51 flavors of ice cream..(dating myself much??)What a fun weekend you'll have at the ranch! Enjoy!
Feeling like a fat pig for not exercising today. First day in like 2 weeks--not realistic, I know. Back to zumba tomorrow!
I love my Mac laptop. I got a basic model. I love it. The customer service is unlike any I have ever experienced. Never. I won't go back now, for sure, to any other computer or system.

BERYL, I am an avowed Best Buyer HATER! I wouldn't darken their doors if they paid ME to come in there. Too many issues with returns. Their return policy sucks big time. Not only that, I had an issue with a VCR/DVD player that I purchased just a few days before; they told me I had to send it back to the manufacturer; they wouldn't exchange it. Okayfine. Never again.

I'm not the type to hold a grudge, honest. emoticon
Phew. Hit a tender spot there.

LORI, hope you're on the mend and are able to get out and walk a bit. It will brighten your spirits in this glorious weather we're having. Not too hot over there for you, I hope.

BTW, I just found out that my Windows XP will no longer be supported by Microsoft. My computer is old, and I've said that when this one goes, I'm going Apple!
I have an iPhone.
LORI, which Mac do you own, and do you have any recommendations? I think I'll go laptop with a larger screen. I work on my computer, but most of my files are web based, so I don't need tons and tons of memory. I don't game, but I do store iTunes and photos.

I see most people working on their laptops at Starbuck's and such, and I assume they don't have desktops at home, too, but I don't know what the real world does any more. I'm open to all suggestions and comments. For the first time, this is not a real emergency where I had a computer crash and needed to get a new one this very minute.

There's always something. Just when you get a breather financially speaking, the other shoes falls.

Loved the Cathe Frederich Heavy and Slow DVD. BurstFit? Ummm, not in love, but I see it was something missing from my exercise routines. Sweaty and breathless, even for 20 minutes, is not my favorite.

Going up to our ranch (haha) this weekend. Haven't been up there since my knee injury. Not looking forward to the dust probably all over everything. There is a washer and dryer and dishwasher up there, so it's not like I'm doing pioneer woman. DH plays bulldozer most of the time, bulldozing and smoothing the dirt roads up to our house or grooming trails. He goes into cowboy mode the moment we get into the truck. Sometimes it's annoying, but mostly it's adorable.

When you arise in the morning,

give thanks for the morning light, for your life and strength.

Give thanks for your food and the joy of living.

If you see no reason for giving thanks, the fault lies in yourself.

Yes, Peg, I think spring is really here! Everyone's allergies are AWFUL!! And I dont' think they're going to improve any.
Lori, I'm having my big seders again, yes. Monday night is about 15 folks, Tuesday probably a few less. Not many less. I need to figure my menu and timing out. I did take off Monday and Tuesday so that's a big help to me.
We all sound so busy and happy. Or reasonably happy. I love that!
I know Kellie has Paris to look forward to. Anyone else have something fun coming up??
Have a good day team!

Good morning Team! Dare I say it? Spring is finally here! (at least for this week)
DR SUE, public transportation is great in NYC, not so much up here. MetroNorth runs special trains for the Yankee home games that stop at the new station they built right by the stadium. I'm lucky; I can drive to Poughkeepsie (25 min or so) and get MetroNorth there. DD and DGS had to pick up Amtrak to get to Poughkeepsie and then take MetroNorth. With train delays , it took them about 3 hours to get home, but I would definitely do it again.
BERYL, busy, buy, busy........I like the thought that with so much on your plate there's no room for junk.
LORI, just realized as you were talking about Passover, that means Easter is coming and I need to decide if I am doing the usual brunch or if everyone has other plans. There's a large part of me that just doesn't want to do it this year, but, we'll see. Glad you're back to walking. Passeo? (don't know what that is)
NICKY, enjoy have fun with Cathe. Thanks for the compliment. I have a couple of new paintings I want to post and now that the sun is out, maybe I'll at least get the pictures taken.
KELLIE, glad to hear that you are taking care of yourself and going to bed early.
HEIDI, hope you are well.
Time to get cleaning before I go to pastels today.
A good day to everyone!

Peg

Hello my beloved Team,

I know, I was gone for a while. I was just not feeling well, you know, on and on. I'm back, I'm walking and staying OP too.

I'm so loving the Passeos here. Today I took a new way and walked all the way to a friend's home. Yes my feet and body hurt but I loved it.

Sooooo, Beryl, we are getting ready for Passover, no? I'm gonna do it at home with just DH and maybe DD2 if she'd like. I'm gonna make some matzo ball soup, broccoli kugel and I think the meat will be the chicken from the soup.

I hope everyone is well, I've missed you all, ~hugs, Lori

DrSue, very true!! lol
Nicky, I will probably get another Polar since this one has done me so well for so long. I will definitely get a chest strap one again. I'm so excited I can go to Best Buy and get one! They used to only be available online. I'm hoping this weekend. There's just no time this week unless I want to get home later than I do. And I don't!
Nothing on TV I'm watching at all. I should be working out my volunteers for the gala in a couple of weeks, but just not interested.
Did muscle pump tonight. He's a killer, I swear. He wants to see someone drop dead in class. No one ever has yet, but I'm waiting....
have a good night team!!

PEG, your art is truly amazing. You are gifted; accept that.

BERYL, will you get another FT7 Polar HRM? I'm eying the red one, but mine is running well. The newer soft straps are amazing. They might not last as long as the old style, but it's worth the trade off for the comfort and reliability. I get no skipping. I even use the HRM on my walks/hikes.

DRSUE, I read a statistic somewhere that around 60% of the male dobes bred in the U.S. will be diagnosed with cardio. I sure hope that statistic has decreased. Even the top breeds are susceptible. It makes me so furious to think any stupid person is allowed to breed and sell.
Every single dog who has ever adopted me has been loved and adored; HOWEVER, only two so far have stolen my heart--the Doberman and my Manly Stanley, the border collie/English Springer. They were intuitive, and we were an inseparable team. Sigh. Very much missed.

Dining out last night was a wonderful experience! Sea bass and roasted Brussels, cauliflower,
escarole. Oysters on the half shell appetizer. I did not partake of the Susie Cakes cupcakes! I took a bite of DH's chocolate one. We brought the other five home, and DH took them to work this morning. Out the door and out of mind.

Ok. Today is the day I work out to the Cathe Frederich Heavy and Slow DVD.
I also purchased a BurstFit DVD set where each workout is 20 minutes long.
Eager to add something new to the workouts.

When you arise in the morning,

give thanks for the morning light, for your life and strength.

Give thanks for your food and the joy of living.

Beryl, that is a lot on your plate, but you will Zumba right on through. All your exercise will help you with stress management. It will just mean you need to be organized and pack and track like the Queen of pack'n and track'n Kellie. Besides, with your plate that full, there is no room for junk. emoticon

Peg, I'm glad you enjoyed the game. I am a huge lover of taking the train. Unfortunately, Bostonians like to drive, and public transportation is not pushed for whatever stupid reason. So train schedules here are not always convenient, unlike NY and Philly. I am happy, I got so much done in the yard this past weekend. DH ended up on a criminal juvenile case. Utterly stupid, essentially a bully, a stolen bike and an overbearing father. They probably could have gotten the kid on bullying, but failed to prove larceny. It was frustrating because it was a waste of the first day, waiting around to see if there was a case. Then the second day for a bad case. However, as he says there are many other cases he would NOT want to be anywhere near, so time served.

Glad the game went well Peg. I LOVE taking the train places. Myself. Get myself something to read and it's an adventure.
Now the big boss came to see me and wants me to move to the high school in 2 weeks. Or after our break, actually. I have this infernal class I'm teaching, another new one in May, Passover, the big Gala I run the end of the month.....feeling pretty stressed. Very stressed. But I do realize eating wont' change the stress and will only make me feel worse.
So thats a win. I guess...
I'd rather have no stress.

Good afternoon Team!
The game was good (but very very cold) the rain held off until after the game and taking the train worked out wonderfully....now asking myself why I hadn't done it before...
NICKY, it's an older painting which I had posted earlier. It's in my photos, titled "Along the Garden Path". A close friend has had 4 or 5 Dobies, loves the breed, but when the last died last fall, she did not and will not get another.
DR SUE, I'm waiting for a good sale on garden soil. I'll need a lot for the new, expanded perennial bed. I would just have a truckload delivered but really don't have a place to store it and I don't think the truck could get close enough to the garden. Guess I'll be hauling bags of soil and will need to borrow someone's truck. Can't wait to start grilling. What kind of case was DH a juror? criminal? civil? and how did/does he like the experience?
BERYL, I usually have vivid (and bizarre) dreams, but that intensifies when the seasons change and there have been some pretty weird ones lately. Dinner sounds great. Set a place for me.
Hello to LORI, KELLIE and HEIDI and all who stop by.

Good Tuesday morning team.
Enjoy the spin DrSue!
Off to work, then staff meeting, then muscle pump. I hope to get a new HRM in between. I hate exercising without one!
Dinner ready--marinated flank steak, roasted vegetables, salad, whole wheat cous cous.
Weird dreams at night--very vivid, and I remember them when I wake up. No meds, so that isn't it. Maybe I need some!
Have a good day everyone! emoticon

Beryl, the puffiness will pass. I hope you enjoyed the falafel!

Nicky, when Quint was a puppy people would pull their cars over jump out and tell me how the had a Dobe, it was the best dog, etc. Yet they didn't get another. Dilated cardiomyopathy (DCM)is one of the bad diseases this breed can get. Trust me I worry, as Q is past his 7th birthday. His breeders were very diligent. They do breed for show, but health and temperament are very high priorities. He is negative for von willebrand's disease (bleeding disorder). I have screened him for DCM, so far so good. I pray my boy is with me for many more years.

How is the rest of the group doing? Peg, we need the rain coat today! But it is going to break 60!

I am off to spin. I'll check in later.

Aw, BERYL, Unlike you, I "listen" to my body. Unfortunately, though, I usually tell it to shut up, so we end up in the same place. emoticon

Did 9.75 miles today!!! OMG! 23,530 aerobic steps out of the 26,889 steps. I'm a machine!
(Well, maybe a tool)

DRSUE, I so hear you re Q and his walks. I read in "The Whole Dog Journal" to mix up the walking routes so they won't get bored. That DOES NOT WORK with Bryce (English Springer, field bred). He knew EXACTLY which way we needed to go, and he actually pulled on his collar to go that way.

Maybe because Dobes were bred to guard MAN that they are so human oriented. It is my favorite breed of all time, yet I probably won't let another adopt me. My Fido died at age 7 of cardiomyopathy, and it nearly tore me apart. All of my doggies have lived 14-16-17 years. He was a rescue from a back yard breeder who should have been hung by her toes.

KELLIE, a dear friend used to work for Air France and is a fluent speaker and travels there at least two times a year. Every time she goes, she gets her hair cut, and every single time she gets a haircut, it's GORGEOUS. I asked her if she goes to a special salon (like, I go to Paris all the time), and she said, no, every stylist in Paris goes through at least 4 years of schooling and training. It's simply amazing. So, if you find that you've got a little problem here and there with your new do, maybe you can pop into a place there!

PEG, have you posted a pic of your juried art work? Would love to see it.

When you arise in the morning,

Good Monday morning team. SOunds like we all had good weekends.
DrSue, I'm drooling over that swordfish! Sounds amazing. Not to mention your mulch workouts! I did just a long walk yesterday after my day in Baltimore and was sore all night. I think I was just tired and hadn't taken a break in a few days and think my body was saying to rest. Did I listen???
Picking up Jo after work, but think I'll hit the gym for a quick bike ride before that. She doesn't love long walks after being at daycare, so that won't work for her.
Fingers so puffy after my falafel last night, but the good news is I didn't finish it. I listened to my body and when I was satisfied was done.
have a great day team!! emoticon

Oh Nicky, I finished "a dogs purpose" I enjoyed it. I look forward to seeing what you think of it.
I totally can picture your Dobe with his head on your lap. Big brown eyes looking up at you. They are a breed that crave physical proximity. It is not a separation anxiety thing, because we can leave with no issues. His purpose is to be with me, protect me and keep me in line. We have a ships clock, with the bells. I realized last night that the bells chimed 5 PM, he launched himself off the couch and headed for his dinner dish. I hope it was a coincidence.

Good morning team. Kellie, I second the Whoo hoo on the do! You must be so ready to go to Paris. How long is the trip? Nicky, I admit I have been slack on doing sprints when spinning, I will work on that. Peg, awesome on the show. How did it go? Beryl, I'm glad you had fun with family in Baltimore. Lori, you earned a day of rest, I hope you are feeling better.

So I continued my physical insanity this past week. Friday after work, my DH was stuck on jury duty. A friend/coworker and I went out for a drink and split an appetizer for lunch. That meant I left Q at the office for an hour and a half. It was a beautiful day. He was TICKED. Nicky you know exactly what I mean. My plan was always to get him on a long walk. I was wrong, HE took me on a long walk. A very long walk. He was very determined in where he wanted to go and where he would not go. I was again in awe over the intelligent mind inside that body. People so often underestimate the intelligence of animals. In our travels we passed the garden center, and they had an awesome sale on mulch.

On Sat after work I went and bought 26 bags of mulch, it took two trips. My house has 12 steps up from the street, then the yard itself. Needless to say, mulching was my project for the weekend. I got my strength work in. I also did my Sunday spin, and spent lots of time with the dog. Yesterday was so beautiful, I grilled swordfish and veggies, with a piece of grilled garlic bread with fresh mozzarella melted on it. Oh yes, spring is finally here.

Peg, enjoy the game today! I hope I didn't miss anyone! Off to get ready for my walk to work!
Heidi, how are you??

Good evening Team.
No, BERYL, I don't think it had anything to do with the show. Rather, I think it was the work I needed to do for Garden Day (which I did complete today....took all day)
NICKY, salted, unsalted....I love nuts. Will pull out those CDs.
KELLIE, whoo hoo on the new "do". An even bigger cheer for heading to Paris on May 15th.
LORI, hope you're feeling better.
DR SUE, how was your weekend?
Tomorrow....off to the Yankees game!

Hi Ladies, I like the new cut - it is very short and my hair is dark. the highlights are blond - like frosting. It's kind of funky - lol. I had to go get some gel/cream to put it in place. It's the type that's parted on the side. IT's very blond, so it will take a little bit to get used to! lol

We are leaving on May 15th! Coming up!

Have a great evening ladies! Kellie

Hi ladies. late check in-busy day.
Peg, how did the show go? Is that the reason for your 2am wide awake-ness?
Kellie--when is the trip? How did your hair turn out?
Lori-how do you feel?
DrSue-how was your weekend?
Nicky, SFT is Simply Filling Technique. You eat power foods until satisfied--NOT full. I'm still working on recognizing that....
Went to Baltimore today with DD2 and Jo and met DD1 there for Passover shopping and lunch. Fun day but long. Came home, put stuff away, and went on a long walk to get my exercise in. Ate not great, and will continue at dinner, but I'm enjoying it. Got chicken shwarma at lunch, with lots of salads alongside, and got falafel for dinner, again with the salads on the side--cucumber/tomato, hummus, onion, cabbage salad.....lots of stuff and it's SO good. But salty.
Have a good evening ladies. emoticon

BERYL, which one is WW SFT? Is that Simply Full?

PEG, pull out the Cathe Frederich tapes or DVDs. You don't have to use weights or anything.
There is something about the empowerment in weight lifting, literally, that makes me feel as if I can cope with anything thrown my way.
Today is a yoga day, along with the Michael Crichton book.

Because of the guilt about leaving my Bryce tomorrow night to go out to dinner, I'll be taking him the 8 miles to the beach to wear him out a bit. It's supposed to be 82 degrees, so maybe I'm not doing him a huge favor.

Blew my Weekend Challenge by getting into the salted almonds big time at around 6:30 P.M. before dinner. They're not my favorite; I get them for DH, but I guess I was desperate for whatever it is they provide.

KELLIE, did your hair turn out great, the way you like it?

Tomorrow is another day. I'm making today a superior one, and I'll bet tomorrow will be even better!

When you arise in the morning,

give thanks for the morning light, for your life and strength.

Give thanks for your food and the joy of living.

If you see no reason for giving thanks, the fault lies in yourself.

Ladies, I am so impressed with the push up and pull ups I am reading about here. The weather is finally nice in PA and we have a beautiful day – I got my hair cut and highlighted yesterday, rested and took a two hour nap with my little kitty Mango. I agree with everyone about the processed junk – but I do crave that once in a while too.
My friends we are going to paris with are coming over so we can plan what we are doing – this will be the third week of mad. I made crock pot tacos for lunch and an Angel food Cake for dessert
--------------------------------
Nicky, I will check out Zumba Pandora ! Awesome work with Jari Love! Hope the novel reading is going well. Thank you for all the exercise information
Lori, you worked through the pain and I hope you are feeling better.
Peg, congrats on the juried show. Good luck!! You sound like you’ve had a very interesting career and with the art.  awesome
Beryl, SFT is a great plan. I know a lot of people who have lost on that plan. I still have the books. I like to be a worker bee too!

Hi guys, just a quick stop by. The opening was nice with quite a few people attending. Stayed about an hour and then headed out to dinner to a small Mexican place. I really like their food, very fresh and everything is not covered in sauce or cheese (and their homemade sangria is pretty darn good, too).
NICKY, I have some Cathe F. tapes. I like her no nonsense approach to weight training, Strength training without the frou frou stuff. I suppose I should dig them out again; haven't looked at them in a couple of years.
BERYL, can it possibly be Passover shopping time already? Enjoy the day out.
I think tomorrow will be spent finishing up my work for Garden Day. I will not offer to do this again next year. Too much like work. After 30+ years of being responsible for others and making sure everything worked, I have no interest in doing that again. So, this is my one and only foray into planning/leading an activity. I am so much happier just showing up and doing whatever needs to be done....ahhhh, grunt work emoticon
Good night all.

Peg, have a wonderful time at the show. You're our star artist! Can't wait to hear about it.
Nicky, I am loving WW SFT. It lets me eat real food, power foods, and lets me use points for foods that aren't as healthy for me. But that's what I LOVE about our board--we all do what works for us, and nothing is one size fits all. Like us!
Up .4 at WI. I can live with that, I guess.
Did my hard zumba last night and today. OUt to dinner tonight--a local college town near us has a wine festival with inexpensive small samples of wine all over, and then we have dinner reservations at a local place with great food--vegan, vegetarian, "regular". Something for everyone. Like us!
To Baltimore tomorrow with DD2 and Jo to meet DD1 for Passover shopping at a big market there. Next week. I need to get my act together!
FInished my funeral thank yous. One thing down!
Have a good night ladies! emoticon

PEG, enjoy every minute of the art show! YOU are part of the in crowd, an "artiste," for sure. How I admire your work.

Next in my novel book queue is DRSUE'S recommendation, which I received from Amazon the other day. I'll get around to it maybe in a year? My stack of have-to reading is piled practically to the ceiling.

BERYL, WW did most of us wrong in the earlier days. We were all repeat customers; good for them; not so great for yo-yo types. If it's not a lifestyle that can be maintained for the duration, it's not going to work. 95% of us gain all the weight back and maybe more.
The meetings and group camaraderie are the program's saving grace. The only way for me is to eat real food in realistic proportions and to move every day and limit sitting.

Emotional comfort eating is something I'll think about maybe tomorrow. Hundreds of books have written about it. I guess there is no one fix that works for everybody.

DRSUE, spin on woman! Do you do bursts, too?

I'm not quite ready to get the ol' jump rope out yet because of the knee thing, but I think I will use that as my "burst training."

I ordered a 3-DVD set of Cathe Frederich, the heavy and slow weight lifting one. Like Jari Love, she's the real deal; no pink plastic weights for her!

The latest research is showing that burst training in the form of HIIT, Tabata, sprints, etc.,
is most effective for fat loss and is more effective cardio than endurance exercise. 20 minutes 3 times a week of this intense stuff. The problem for me is that I hurt myself because I'm a clod.

DH's birthday is Monday, and we are going to a restaurant! The menu is killer! All sorts of sauteed greens (they're specialty is caramelized Brussels' sprouts), pureed parsnips, oysters on the half shell, sea bass. It's a "California Wine Country Style" bistro. Yawn, BUT, it has veggies and meat, and that's what I love.

Oh. Update on Nutribullet. I LOVE IT!! I make sweet smoothies and vegetable cocktail smoothies, and I use pea or hemp protein powder AND collagen AND chia seeds. It actually fills me up.
Went to Costco on Friday, and the Vitamix man was there. $499.99. DD lusts after one. I'm getting there. It's a lifetime item, I'm sure, but......wow, that's expensive. I piddle away that much here and there and might start saving my pennies toward one.

When you arise in the morning,

give thanks for the morning light, for your life and strength.

Give thanks for your food and the joy of living.

If you see no reason for giving thanks, the fault lies in yourself.

Good morning Team!
I'm also a Michael Crighton fan. Wasn't he involved in one of the medical TV shows? ER? St Elsewhere?
Tonight is the opening of the juried show. A couple of friends and I will go down and then go out to dinner.
Was very bright and sunny when I got up, but now is quite cloudy. Not sure what's forecast, but as for Monday, no rain, please. Opening day at Yankee Stadium and I'm going down for the game.
Hope everyone takes care of themselves this weekend (and everyday, for that matter)

I LOVE Michael Crighton! Enjoy it!
DrSue, good for you for blowing off the speaker. Play hookey!!
Lori, rest sounds like just what you need.
I agree that the quality of our food is so important. I see folks eating junk, but since it's "only" so many points or calories or whatevers--they're OK with it. And I was one of them! I LOVED those 100 calorie packs. My lunch every day was a turkey sandwich on sandwich thin, baked pringles, a piece of fruit, and a 100 calorie pack. UGH!!! Not a good thing, at least for me. Way too many carbs and too much processed junk. Now it's WW vegetable soup and a salad, usually.
I'd kill for a cookie now, though...... emoticon

BERYL, Michael Crighton's "State of Fear" is in the que.

My goal is to eventually do 25 slow push-ups without stopping. I can't do even ONE pull-up yet without the assistance of a band.
We never did rope climbing or pull ups in school PE, did we? Did we even do girlie pushups during President Kennedy's fitness days? Did you have those periodic tests of how many situps in a minute and stuff?

DRSUE, I get a little down, too, when the scale doesn't move as quickly as I'd like. LIKE, NOW!
The latest researchers are urging us to throw away our scales and take waist:hip measurements for a more accurate account of fat loss. I'm too tied to the scale results to do only that, AND, I get complacent if I know there is no WI. That's what I did while I was healing my knee for five months. Look what I got in return. 13# gain.

"Experts" also tell us that exercise itself is a mere 15% of the fat loss equation; more important is the QUALITY of food we use for our fuel. So, a 100-calorie snack pack is more likely to be stored as fat than 100-calories of apple, piece of cheese, or broccoli. That part makes sense to me. However, if I don't exercise vigorously, I gain. 15% is a lot, I suppose.

OMG!!! IT'S SO TRUE! THAT'S EXACTLY HOW MUCH WEIGHT I GAINED!! Duh.

LORI, sounds simply divine to settle in and rest. You broke out of the gate like a horse with its tail on fire. That's a whole bunch of walking/exercise you've included in your life lately.

DRSUE, how I remember my bored Doberman, Fido. He would paw me when he thought I was at the computer too long. I had a bed for him right here in the corner of my office, not more than 3 feet away. Would he stay there? No. He was most content with his chin on my desk and head under one of my arms. For love of a Doberman. Sigh.

I'm sure the speaker at the rotary was worth blowing off. You, too, have a great OP weekend.

PEG, KELLIE, HEIDI, and all our Team, let's be gentle and kind to ourselves this weekend.

When you arise in the morning,

give thanks for the morning light, for your life and strength.

Give thanks for your food and the joy of living.

If you see no reason for giving thanks, the fault lies in yourself.

Wow Beryl! You rock the strength training. I am lacking in that lately outside of work. It is more the discipline to do it on my own. Nicky you also amaze me in that respect.

Lori, awesome on a great walk despite the pain.

Yesterday I did another 75 min spin. The weather was great, so I blew off the speaker at rotary and took Q for a Long walk. DH had jury duty, and Thurday is my longest day because rotary occupies my lunch. If DH is unavailable I end up with a very bored and cranky doberman pincher on my hands! I did my WI this am and am down 0.4lb. I guess it should be happy I'm down, but I hoped for more with how much activity I have had. DH has to go back again because he landed on a jury, so that can keep me on the straight and narrow today. We usually go out to lunch Friday, because I work Sat.

Off I go to get ready for work. Let's stay OP.

BERYL, WOW! Do you do guys' pushups or girlies? You've got quite a little routine going there. I'm going to try out Zumba Pandora and see what that's all about. I LOVE Latin, African beat music. International folk music is such happy music, too; music of celebration, I guess.

I completed for the first time in 5 months an entire Jari Love DVD, 67 minutes! Stronger every day.
How different we all are! I simply love, love strength training in all its forms. It was definitely NOT stylish when I was a teen.
I took modern dance all through junior high and high school as my P.E., mostly because we didn't have to shower in that class. I did a lot of the choreography for our talent shows, but truth be told, I was/am kind of a clod. I faked it for a whole bunch of years. It was my "intellectual" period. I featured myself as an intellectual "artiste" and must have been insufferable. emoticon

I reiterate: I am going to RELAX and READ A NOVEL this weekend. That is my challenge.

Nicky, I have a little routine I sort of made up. I put on my Pandora zumba station and rock out!
I have 12 pound hand weights. I do 10 bicep curls while doing lunges, 10 front rows, 10 shoulder presses, 10 tricep curls, 10 behind the back raises and 10 behind the back arm out raises. Then I get on the floor and do 10 chest presses while doing crunches, 10 knee raises with a weight behind each knee, 10 push ups, and a plank during which I do knee lifts and move my legs in and out. I finish with 10 squats, then 10 bounce squats where I don't come all the way up. I do that entire set 4 times. Takes me about 30 minutes.
I HATE IT!!! lol emoticon
That is my picture......

DRSUE, FOX News gave some time to the first responders this morning. They are our every day heroes. Mourning their loss is appropriate.

Keeping on the theme of the goodness of people (rather than concentrating on the bad actors), I urge all of you to watch some of the Daily SparkVideos. The "Best Shift Ever" on the Start Page of SP made me smile and tear up! There are very good souls surrounding us.

Another video is about 11 Lessons we Can Learn From Dogs.

Any way, there are a bunch of Daily Videos that were uplifting for me today.

Sewer line clogged this morning and called a snaking company, the $99-smell-good-one. I HATE being "worked." I have many, many years experience with sewer clogs because my house is 100 years old and surrounded by trees. I have installed THREE cleanouts on my property so that no one snaking will cost $$$$.

I tell this little tale not because it's such a tragedy to have a clogged sewer line. I mention it because while I was waiting for the technician to arrive, I wanted to stuff!!! Over a lousy clogged sewer. I didn't, mind you, BUT, I WANTED to. What the heck?

I immediately logged on here and tracked breakfast, watched the videos, and then came to the Team. Half an hour later, no more crazy thoughts.

PEG, it's so wonderful and affirming that your work was juried in!

BERYL, what sort of weight routine do you do when at home? Do you use a DVD?

DH's birthday is next Monday. We have a gift card to go to a fancy schmancy restaurant at the beach. I prefer my own cooking and need to stay OP toward my goal, but I'm not incredibly tempted when dining out, so it should be a nice time.

KELLIE, another week at your new position! You're one of them now, I'm sure. Do you count calories when tracking? Do you attend meetings?

This weekend I'm challenging myself to relax a little and do some reading for fun instead of work!
I'm weighing in on Saturday and Sunday, too, because the BLTs tend to do me in.
One week NICKYNONUTS.

When you arise in the morning,

give thanks for the morning light, for your life and strength.

Give thanks for your food and the joy of living.

If you see no reason for giving thanks, the fault lies in yourself.

Beryl, good for exercising the crankies away. I love how it makes you feel so good.

Good morning to everyone today. It's early and not much to say yet. I am off to spin, so I will check in later.

Have a great day team.

Good evening my Team,

Nicky I love the 70's. I also listen to The Voice on Itunes radio.

Sorry that you cannot eat the ingredients in the Fit Frappe. It is so awesome to me and I'm grateful.

Beryl, did you get your grumpies out?

Peg so awesome about your pastels being picked

~hugs to all, Lori

Good evening team. Long day, but was so cranky I had to come home and do my 30 minute hard workout to get those crankies gone!
DrSue, first responders are the bravest of the brave. They do things every single day that would amaze and astound everyone, yet we only hear of them when there is a tragedy. We should celebrate them and thank them every single day.
Peg, mazel tov!!! Thrilled for you!!!!
Hi Heidi and Kellie. Glad you found the problem!
Isn't facetiming the best Lori???
Have a good night! emoticon

DR SUE, let me say that I keep all first responders (as well as military) in my prayers. As I've said, they go forward when the rest of us would go the other way...
I want to share some good news.....one of my pastels was accepted into the juried show! Unbelievable! I am sooo excited!

Lori, you are rocking it!! Sorry, a crocus is one of our first flowers of spring up here in the northeast. The snowdrop Is probably the first, but most people don't have those. There is a property that has incredible snowdrops they were just blooming yesterday.

Today was the funeral for the first of the 2 firefighters. May I say, 10,000 firefighters came. I came home at lunch, thinking it would be over. Got absorbed into the mass. I was so in tears, and I am not a weepy person. Tomorrow is the second, dear lord please be kind ...

Please keep our first responders in our hearts and souls and prayers. We are going to do it again tomorrow. Michael Kennedy died as a a firefighter, but was also a combat marine. I guess I just need to shut up, I tend to wander. He will be eulogized by appropriate people..

Sweet dreams my team...

LORI, thank you for the link. I couldn't get it to work, so I just went to BigTrain.com. Woe is me! I don't do well with either whey or casein. I've found hemp and pea protein powders work pretty well for me.

Here's my dilemma: I don't think we can live long term on 1200 calories. Yes, we shed pounds, and after reaching goal, the calories creep in because I can't be gung ho motivated 24/7. Modern Humans are the only species who think going hungry is a good thing!

I've added more fat into my meals, but, unlike the Paleo folk, I use whole-food fat like avocado and chia seeds, let's say. I use ghee and olive oil, too; used to be very low fat and paid for it with dry skin and hair.

Like you said, KELLIE, we're individuals, BUT, that individuality morphs! I am doing well and feeling more satisfied these days by eating lots and lots of vegetables and cooling it a bit on the protein. I'm like a carnivorous vegetarian! This is what my body seems to want lately.
I'm not go-go-go all the time like when in my 20s; I don't need the carb fuel like I once did.
This is my time for experimentation and not being so serious about "dieting."
I want everything that goes into my mouth to do my body some good.

Cornish game hens tonight stuffed with rosemary and oranges from my garden!

BERYL, sounds like your father had a life well lived. Admirable.
I say goodnight to my Daddy every single night. His Army picture is in the hallway right by the light switch.

LORI, you're a walking diva! Go for it! To what tunes do you like to dance? What genre?
We got no rain here today in L.A., but it did rain a bit last night.
The fruit is still green on my loquat tree, but I've been snitching others' in the neighborhood from trees that hang on the sidewalks or roadside. Don't tell anybody.

When you arise in the morning,

give thanks for the morning light, for your life and strength.

Give thanks for your food and the joy of living.

If you see no reason for giving thanks, the fault lies in yourself.

Good evening Team!
It is beautiful here at the moment. I'd rake my yard if it still wasn't so wet. I have a carpet of blooming crocuses beneath my azalea bush and a lot of buds are now showing on the magnolia. I think (shhh) spring may be here, daffodils and tulips peeking out of the ground, robins everywhere and a huge gaggle of geese (at least 80) heading north this morning. I am smiling!
Still trying to find the list of paintings that were accepted for the juried show, but it's not online yet. have to pick up the rejects (they say they are "declined" sort of like that credit card commercial...lol) tomorrow or Friday.
BERYL, that is so nice that people have shared how much your father meant to them. We can never know the impact we may have on someone.
DR SUE, I laughed when I read about Q's visit to the nursing home. Then I tried to picture ADHD Ruby doing such a thing. Even though she would love it, she would probably knock the residents down.
LORI, I am so happy that you enjoy the walking. When I walk I love looking at everone's yards and gardens and see what they've done.
NICKY, you are awesome! flat side of bosu with weights and no crashing to the floor. emoticon
KELLIE, glad the PC woes are gone.
HEIDI, hope you're doing well.

Hello Team,

Pouring rain, yes we need it badly. No walking today. You are all right, I went from 0 to 4 miles a day. I absolutely love walking. Checking out all the gardens is a big Plus too.

Oh, my Beryl, how awesome and special to hear of how loved your Dad was. I often wonder what other golfers think of my Dad. Sometimes he can be outspoken, especially to people who are not following the rules.

Okay, I finally looked up Crocus. The are beautiful.

Kellie so glad that your computer is doing well again.

DS and DGS are returning from NY tonight. I face timed with my DGS while he was at the airport, Today is his 6th birthday.

I'm gonna dance today in the house because I cannot walk, ~hugs, Lori

Dr. Sue - I'm glad you are able to get out and enjoy the ocean ! :) sounds awesome!

Nicky - it is do true that everyone's bodies are different - why WW stopped working for me.  I keep adding exercise until the scale moves eating 1200 calories on MFP

Peg- that show looked pretty amazing! You'll have to tell us how it goes.

Heidi, I wish you all the best with the surgery.

---

Hi ladies, I think I solved the problem - I was running Internet explorer from my desktop - deleted all of it! busy week - my eating is ok and tracking - did about 40 minutes of Zumba today!

Have a great day !!

Good Wednesday morning team.
DrSue, you're BAAAACK!! Speaking of beast mode.......you're rocking it!
Not to mention our Nicky on her bosu ball. Squats and weights yet!
Lori-remember when every day was a day of rest for you? Now you're not happy with over 2 miles! YAY!
Hair cut and color after work, so no dance fusion. I will probably do my weight program myself when I come home. UGH. But it's something.
You never know how many people you affect, do you? We're hearing tributes from folks for my dad from students he had 40 years ago. One big honcho in my school district with whom I've become somewhat friendly said she became a science teacher. 8th grade. He was her 8th grade science teacher. Coincidence? She didn't think so. But neither of us knew who my dad was to the other one until he died.
Such nice things to hear!!
Hi Kellie!! Sorry you're having computer issues.....
Hi Peg--class today?
Have a wonderful day team! emoticon

Good morning team!
Lori, I did enjoy my spin yesterday. There is something to be said about rest, I did a 75 min and 700 cal burn! I was on fire! Then I had a light surgical load at work, and it was my short Tuesday. I was done by 10. It was resonably warm and very sunny, so I got the dog and we walked Marblehead neck. Q cut it a little short, but it was a 4.85 mile walk. DH and I went to lunch, light Vietnamese, yum! Then I did something I have been talking about for a while. I got the dog again, and walked him up the road to one of the nursing homes in town and visited a former client. She LOVES dogs and just turned 103! She didn't remember me, but was so happy for the visit from Quint. In fact, we got called into room after room for people asking to pet him. It was good.

When I retuned from my walk, I saw a single yellow crocus peaking out of my lawn!!! We made it!!!! The ocean yesterday was incredible, teal blue and a roaring surf that is not typical of our beaches up here. The surfers were out. So were dozens of brants and eiders.

Nicky, I was doing yoga, and loved it, but it was setting off the pain in my piriformis muscle-specifically downward dog. Unfortunately that is the base of most yoga practices. I have tried to adapt, but it gets me out of the rhythm. You are an animal on that Bosu!!

Lori enjoy your rainy day today! Have the day of rest, and you guys still really need the rain, don't you?

Have a great day today!
