Good afternoon, Team! what a gloriously sunny warm day! Went to PT and yes, I have homework. Funny, my massage person asked me if the doc had mentioned I might be beginning "frozen shoulder' and what I should do about it. (uh, no) Today at PT she was all about manipulating it to "help range of motion". Couldn't help but think what the massage therapist had said. Saw DB at PT. Apparently he is there for his knee. We had a nice chat.
Came home and mowed. Took some naproxen before I started and applied ice after. Filled the feeders, including the hummingbird ones. Have yet to see a hummingbird but the feeders were empty. Surprisingly, I did see an oriole on one the other day.
DGS was confident that he would play tonight. I'll check with DD1.
Yes, NICKY, I'm on the summits list and I agree it's a big sales pitch, particularly for forever access to the summits. Like you, I always learn something so I will pick and choose. Glad spa week finally happened. Definitely don't go uphill if those rattlers are moving around. I know there was an increase in their numbers on some of the trails around here (and copperheads, too) Hope NM and SM are doing ok.
BERYL, enjoy the babysitting time! How much of a break do you have until the next class? I can't remember if you teach during the summer or not.
CORINNE, I'm so excited about your trip. How fun to learn the history of your destination from DD.
Hope everyone is well and has a great day.

Peg

Nicky, your spa week sounds glorious! Most I do is a facial every Sunday morning. Enjoy the rest of the week. I hope you won't take a chance on those hills. I'm so afraid of snakes. Ugly creatures.

Peg, I hope your shoulder continues to get better after PT today. Is DGS going to be able to play with his ankle hurt?

Lori, I just bake a big batch of chicken thighs and we use them in various ways during the week. I do use chicken breasts in the crockpot, add a jar of your favorite salsa and let it cook for 8-10 hours. You can even put in the breasts frozen. When done, shreds easily and you can make tacos, enchiladas, taco salad, etc. Very easy and good.

Beryl, I'm glad you got your card replaced so quickly. I love hearing about your interaction with your grandchildren! What a delightful relationship you have with them!

DD and I cackled when we talked about Ivanka getting booed. She thinks if she speaks in that oh so quiet, butter won't melt, I'm so refined voice that we'll believe any horse manure she's spewing. She's as bad as him.

Dr. Sue, so good to hear from you! Sounds like you're on the mend. I'm glad you also have a few days to yourself like Nicky. I feel your pain with taxes. DH and I are both self-employed with no benefits so we pay quarterly taxes and it's never enough. We had to pay the balance for 2016 and of course, first quarter for 2017. Meanwhile, the orange POS pays nothing. I get an ulcer too just thinking about what's happening to our country. I've never used the short version of the Serenity Prayer so much in my life!

DD will be going to Greece June 20 as will DH and myself. We come back July 4 and she'll come back the end of July. She's going to start giving me Greek history lessons when she comes home next month. She turns her history lessons into stories so I'm looking forward to learning about the places we're going to see.

Have a good Friday Team!

Oh, PEG, I see that you're on the Summits mailing lists now, too! They're mostly giant sales events, but I generally learn something.
Congrats to DGS's team, but what's this about the ankle? He won't be able to play tomorrow, will he?
Do you have PT homework, too?

DRSUE, so glad you're healing, albeit slowly.
Gunther has been relatively okay so far, HOWEVER, he ate the carton of koi food while I was gone today! That dog will eat ANYTHING.

Started my Spa Week with a bit of a shopping spree at LuLuLemon after I dropped off DH at the airport. Being all about "athleisure," I decided to indulge in the new running tights that are 6" instead of 5". The skin on my thighs is no longer tight; there's a bit of droop around the knees. I just don't think it's appropriate for a woman-of-a-certain-age to go around in short shorts. One pair has a fern design done in black and white that comes out a charcoal color.

I took a bath, gave myself a papaya enzyme facial, AND slathered up my feet and put on cotton socks.

Had pastured chicken bone broth and vegetables with some spinach thrown in, and topped that off with a bowl of raspberries and walnuts.

Today was the dentist to get the second new crown placed AND got my hair colored and blown dry.
I indulged in some new hair care products at the salon, organic, vegan ones.

I've been drinking herbal water, as well as some mushroom elixirs from Four Sigmatic. One of the blends is called "Beauty."

Friday, Saturday, and Sunday will be fitness days for me, as well as Gunther.

DS rides his mountain bike up in our local hills near my house. He texted me today that for three weeks in a row he sighted rattle snakes. He was talking to a hiker who said the area was infested! There's NO WAY I'm going up hill from now on. I said that before, but last Saturday I walked uphill on a residential street. I shouldn't have done it because there's a lot of brush and construction everywhere, which disrupts the snakes' habitats.

BERYL, do you babysit at your home, or do you go over to the kids' house? Does DH get involved in the routine care, too?

I watched the last episode of "Feud: Bette and Joan" the other night. Great acting, but, boy, such a sad take on the last days of two movie idols. Poignant, too, in that Susan Sarandon and Jessica Lang are also almost rendered irrelevant in Hollywood.

Tonight will be a Juice Beauty dermabrasion scrub and serum, as well as the ritual slathering of the feet and cotton socks. I will watch the first episode of "Genius" and wake up whenever my "trainer" decides it's time.

This is so much fun!

When you arise in the morning,

give thanks for the morning light, for your life and strength.

Give thanks for your food and the joy of living.

If you see no reason for giving thanks, the fault lies in yourself.

Good evening team. New card gotten, activated, and used! It's all good.
Watching My 600 Pound Life and feeling thin. Or fat, depending on who's on.
Peg, hope PT helps tomorrow. How is DGS's ankle? Will he be back in play tomorrow?
DrSue, glad you're getting better. You never catch a break with your staff. How come they're always off and you're always covering? Hope you get some down time.
Nicky, thinking of you and SM and NM and hoping things are stable.
Lori, I'm always there for you! I hope you know that. I will see Jo and Ari tomorrow night. Babysitting. So exciting. We facetimed tonight. Jo asked me to babysit. I said they'd be fine on their own. lol. She said "Shasha, you're joking me, right?" She still is never sure. I enjoy that. lol
Corinne, how are you?
I thought I noticed the other night our bottom heating element in the stove wasn't working. I was right. So we ordered the part. Not a big deal. Its out second one. apparently spills fall onto it and eventually it corrodes it.
Had a varied day today. Kid who was unresponsive (due to behavior, not a medical issue), HUGELY obese custodian c/o being lightheaded and very hypertensive. He went out to be assessed. There's a shock. Glad he's gone. I want a medical note for him to return. He's just too fat.
Have a good night ladies

Good evening, Team!
DR SUE, good to hear from you. I'm glad your wrist is feeling better. You have mentioned Cat Attract and I gave it a try when Melinda was starting her "no litter boxes" period. No effect. These three boxes have been there so long (how long have they been there?) that I don't remember what litter is in each. Doesn't matter because she's using them all.
Shoulder still hurts and PT is in the morning. Thinking I will finally be able to mow tomorrow.
Went to DGS's game. He hurt his ankle and had to come out. Team was behind, but in the last inning with 2 outs the bottom of the order really rallied and pulled it out. The other team was so sure that they had the win, but nope. They will play this same team tomorrow and I will go to that one, too.
LORI, I think I may have reconfigured the proposed patio and am waiting for "my guy" to come discuss it. I may, after all, end up with a workable patio. Many years ago (more than 20) ex-hubs and I put in a small (10 x 10) patio which is still good. A few years ago I took it apart and relaid the blocks, but it is fine. What I want now is in a different area and will mean a lot of digging or maybe bring soil in to even it out. I think the bringing in will be less labor intensive than the digging out. Time will tell.
Wishing all a good evening.

Peg

Hi team! I have been crazy busy until today. It is quiet, so I got a chance to catch up with you. I've missed you! My left wrist seems to be healing. No pain. Occasionally I feel a pull or twinge when I do something, but perhaps that is some scarring from the injections, because that is where it hurts. I am starting to not wear the brace at home at night. I don't dare not wear it at work, to remind myself and my staff to be careful. The finger also seems better, it doesn't bend when I go to change my brace after my shower. I don't leave it off as if it involuntary flexes, 6 weeks starts over. Everything Is just clumsy. DH is off doing a boat delivery. So I am having peace and solitude. He has been in a foul mood of late. We had another good year so, yet again our taxes were done and we owed an additional 5 figure amount to the IRS. Scraping and scrambling as always, no retirement money, no savings. Very stressful. I needn't express my opinion on our supreme leader, as I bet you can guess.

Kellie, so glad to see you back. Do I remember that your parents live with you? Or you took over their house? I definitely can't wait to hear about your koi pond. I'm glad you like your job, you worked hard to get it. It sounds like you have found a balance. It is hard to do, but so important. Today, after Rotary, it was finally sunny and warmish. My Thursday vet is on vacation, so I'm on this PM. No appointments until 3 so I took Q out for a good hour walk around town.

Peg, I'm sorry your shoulder is giving you such trouble. I hope PT will help in the long run. DGS is amazing! Yesterday was crazy foggy here last night. I believe the Yankees were here, so it makes sense. As far as Melinda and the boxes, who knows. Did I ever tell you about cat attract litter? It is a litter with something like a pheromone that attracts cats to it. Is she still diabetic, or did she convert? Enjoy you gardening.

Beryl, enjoy your last class. Sorry your Mother makes you crazy. Parents can do that. I think I finally got it into my parents heads that their health is our business, as many things are genetic.... On the bright side, we might be cell mates...

Nicky, I'm sorry that there is so much going on. I hope NM can get used to audiobooks. SM got her power on, and DH managed to get on his flight! Is Gunther behaving at least?

Lori, it is too bad about your family drama. When DH's mother called back and said not to come if DS isn't welcome. That stinks to me that the sister manipulated that situation. Bet me on it. I hope you and DD 1 talked and straightened it out. I agree that you invite who you want, and the individuals can decide if they can man up or not. Of course I have a very small family and we all get along fine with DH's family and my DSIL's too.

Kathie, I hope you are doing great things! Lynn I hope your kayak is back in the water!

Corrine, sounds like an interesting, but stressful and often sad specialty. I guess that when you help someone it is a huge Victory. When does DD go to Greece?

A final rant on politics. Let's just pave the national parks, kill the EPA and get people back in the coal mines. Heavens forbid you could build a plant making solar panels in coal mining areas and teach people new skills. After all Peg, don't you miss the brown smog cloud that used to hang over NYC? Ok must stop before I get an ulcer.

Have a good night every one!

Hello Dear Team,

Oh Peg, we are sunny and beautiful here. I wish that I could send some your way. It's funny, now that the drip system is in, I can just gaze at and adore my garden. Sure there is cleanup, pruning, etc, but how nice to just smile and adore. I'm sorry about your shoulder pain, how is it today, after the PT and massage, yesterday? I've said it before and will continue to say thank you for being Melinda's person. Long ago, DH and I did our last patio, ourselves. Oh we we proud. It wasn't level, but it was pretty. Maybe your ex-hub and you can do a small part and then you can be proud. It would probably not be good on your shoulder, at this time.

Nicky, OMG, I'm sorry that he missed his flight and that you had to take him twice to LAX. Maybe NM's son can show her how to listen to audio books, I love them.

Corrine, what do you cook your chicken with? We eat breasts and I think they'd be yummy if I found a good crockpot recipe.

Beryl, thank you, as usual for the great comfort you are to me. When do you se Jo and Ari?

I'm wearing my old glasses, will see eye doc again today and have him see what may be causing my migraines. Was migraine free yesterday and today so far.

~hugs, Lori

Good morning Team!
I'm glad someone has sun, BERYL! Still gray and the air is heavy and it's very humid. That sucks about your card. It is such a pain to notify all the auto bill people and even harder to remember them all, especially those that are less frequent. Hope it goes easily. Thought I lost a card once and then years later when the mechanic had to pull my dashboard, there it was!
Went to the gym. Biking was cancelled as ex-hubs was having some blood sugar level difficulties. If my lawn ever dries, I'll mow and work in the garden. Everything is just so wet. I'm feeling slimy and moss is starting to grow on me! DGS has a game tonight so I'll go to that if I can scrub the moss off. If anyone peeked at the Yankees - Red Sox game last night, what fog! Like something out of a Stephen King book.
Wishing everyone a good day.

Good morning ladies. Hope you're all well. Beautiful, sunny, and warm today. Can't wait to get out of here!
Can't find my credit card. Had it the other day when I got gas, and always put it in my pocket when done. Didn't look for it till later, and can't find it. Immediately cancelled it so have to go to the bank after work today to get another one. Then change the card on the various bills that come out every month. UGH. Inconvenient. Never happened before. I've had to get a new one because it was compromised, but never because I lost one. Feel totally stupid.
Starving today! Don't know why.
Have a good day team!

Peg, a lady never reveals her age!!
Glad you had the massage and PT. Gotta love a nurse practitioner. That's who I use for everything. They're nurses first and really take time with their patients, I find. I hope it's better tomorrow.
You forget--by drilling and destroying the land, we'll bring jobs back! That's the platform he ran on, and he's sticking to it. His minions are thrilled. The good news? The money for the wall is off the table, at least for now. The better news? Ivanka was booed in Germany! Makes me smile!
A very young police officer was shot and killed this afternoon. Essentially ambushed. The city is devastated. So, so sad. Last I heard the gunman was holed up in a house shooting at the police. He'll be killed. One way or another.

DR SUE, a quick question, although I don't know if you would have any insight...suddenly Melinda is using her litter boxes, the same ones with the same unused litter (3 different brands) that have been sitting in "her" room for many months. No longer peeing on the pads that I have lining the room. Do you think she's just messing with me? lol

Good afternoon Team! After 3:30 and it still hasn't cleared up. DGS's game was canceled.
Went to PT and then my monthly massage. I'll know by tonight if it feels any better; pretty achy right now. My massage person is wonderful and I explained all about my shoulder. She explained a lot more about the anatomy than either the doc or PT. (She's back in school to be a nurse practitioner...juggling this clinical semester with work and a family like so many others.)
Oh NICKY, I hope you successfully sent DH on his way today. I used to be so disappointed when DH would come home early from his hunting trips. As for being the problem solver, I think that everyone looks to competent, strong women to be just that. I don't know why I think it's more slanted toward women, but I do. Maybe because we're viewed as being a caregiver (even if we aren't) and can make things right. I am also guilty of wanting to make everything right, even when I can't.
yay, BERYL, the last class! Enjoy as the last student walks out of the door.
CORINNE, I think the saddest hearings in court were the retention and med over objection hearings under the Mental Hygiene Law...and the guardianships. I felt so bad for the patients and their families who were clearly at their wits end. The slaw sounds delish.
LORI, I hope you are feeling better.
DR SUE and KELLIE, Hi!

Blood work done on Melinda, but other than slight anemia and slight dehydration, everything else was normal. Doc gave her an antinausea shot and fluids and she seemed better last night. The big question of course is...how old is she? Thinking at the youngest, she must be 10 and her vet thinks she may be closer to 15. Unless she decides to bare her soul, it will continue to be Melinda's secret. Would love to know her story.

Nothing new. Tomorrow is the gym and then biking. (and I have to mow my lawn...maybe it will be dry enough tomorrow afternoon)
Wishing all a good day!

One political rant...what's this new EO to re-evaluate land with national monument status with a view toward allowing development including drilling and mining??? Have we learned nothing about protecting open spaces? ok, that's all

Good Wednesday team. Gray and warm, going to clear up as the day goes on which is good.
Corinne, mental health? I worked in psych for years. Got downsized. Mental health care is even lacking behind other medical care in most states. And for kids? Forget it. I bet we could talk for hours about this! I too started when male docs were the norm and nurses obeyed their orders. Now, with the younger nurses and docs (or just newer, not necessarily younger), they're way more equal. Love that.
Oh, Nicky, that's all way too much! The stress must be awful! Get DH on that plane!! Not sure what NM expected you to do. I agree with Corinne--does SM use audio books?
Peg, hope you get relief today!
Lori, hope you're pain free today and get to enjoy today!
Kellie, did your dad come home?
I started to watch Genius then realized I couldn't sit through the whole thing--I needed to be in the kitchen getting ready for today, so I'll catch it on Demand. Along with Feud that's supposed to be really good.
Hopefully a good class tonite. Last one. Brief aesthetic presentations on their concept, and we're outta there!
Have a good day ladies

Wow Nicky; you have a lot of stress going right now! First, I hope DH makes his flight today so you can have what's left of your spa week. Hope NM gets her electricity back but really; what did she think you could do about it? It must be hard for SM not to be able to read anymore but at least there are audio books available. You can vent any time as much and as often as you like!

I'll bet like Peg, you could write a book about your experiences in the courtroom! I have a bias about attorneys, males in particular. Not very nice and can be particularly condescending. I've dealt with that my entire career. Thankfully the old guard judges who were jerks when I first started are now gone and we have a really good group of judges. I only deal with one for mental health since that's my entire practice and I like her a lot. She was very understanding when I missed court last week saying she knew something had to be wrong because I'm always so reliable. Today is that missed appearance so I put an alarm on my phone and there are sticky notes on the microwave, refrigerator and door to the garage. If I forget in the next two hours I will voluntarily have myself locked up!

I also set Genius to record. It looks good so I'm looking forward to watching it tonight. I can't imagine pulling out teeth to make your cheekbones prominent! Can you imagine a male actor doing that?

Peg, has your pain abated any? At least you have PT today and maybe they can give you some relief. I agree, of course, DGS won his game! Love the image of you driving with your radio cranked up. For me it's my 60's and 70's stations. How is Melinda?

Kellie, I hope your dad is better. Is he still in the hospital or did he get to come home?
I'm with you about having dinner ready. I made an entire big package of chicken thighs last night which we'll have for dinner for several meals. I found a Power Blend that's raw broccoli, brussel sprouts, kale, cabbage and carrots that's shredded so I made coleslaw with it. Really good side.

I'm also with you and Beryl about the wall. I'm disgusted that we have to pay quarterly taxes when we have the great orange one who hasn't paid taxes in 20 years and won't release the taxes he promised he would. I only look at headlines to see if the world ended. My stomach can't handle the news anymore. It's too depressing. Like a nightmare we can't wake up from.

Lori, I'm so sorry you're going through this with DH's family but at least your DH's loyalty is to you! We don't get to choose our family so like everyone else, you don't have to keep toxic people in your life even if they're related by blood or marriage. Proud of your DH for putting you first and embracing your DGC as his own. Beryl, I can't imagine your in-laws would reject their own grandchildren! How terrible!

Off to get ready. Have a good day teammates!

can't take one more minute of everybody pulling at me!! When did I become The Problem Solver??!!! End rant.

Contemplated strangling DH. sometimes he makes life so difficult for himself and me. This is supposed to be my spa week. Drive him to the airport today. He thinks it's still 1970, and he can just get on the plane because he has carry on, a boarding pass, and a first class seat. The gate number was mismarked on the board; he went to the wrong gate and missed his flight. No help from the ticket people to get on another flight. He gave up and came home. So livid was I. We'll try again tomorrow, only THIS TIME, we get him there earlier. So much for Day 1 of spa week.

SM lost power at her home today because of high winds. She called ME as if I could help. Can't take her to the doc tomorrow because I'm taking DH to the airport AGAIN!
Sorry. I thought rant was over.

BERYL, yes, I agree with everything you say about toxic people. I've released some relatives, too, because, as I've said, I don't do drama.

PEG, my heart goes out to you. We don't realize how much we use the shoulders until they're compromised. It takes a really long time for shoulders to heal.
Maybe take a peek at Relief Factor. Two of my clients use it and swear by it.

I just set to record "Genius." Looks promising.

Has anybody seen "Feud: Bette and Joan"? Bette Davis and Joan Crawford when they were no longer young and sought after. Jessica Lang and Susan Sarandon are marvelous. It's so sad and troubling. As a senior, Joan Crawford wAs spitting blood due to gum disease (drank and smoked). The young dentist was horrified that all her molars were missing!! She told him she had them pulled per the studio so that her cheekbones would look more prominent because of the dent no molars would make in her face!!! Can you imagine wanting to be famous so much that you would deform yourself?

KELLIE! I'm praying for you and your family!!! Infection and hospital???? I hope you can get dad home very soon!!
Nother Mother has been diagnosed with macular degeneration. She can't read any more. She hopes she can stay in her home for another year. I hope so, too.
I want so much to make it all better, but I have no power; I'm helpless.

CORINNE, in another life when my children were small, I was a court reporter. Actually, I still pay my fees and am listed as "active," even though I haven't worked as one for 33 years!
I was called on a jury once, and there happened to be two lawyers also on the panel. One of them tried to take over and lead us; it was offensive, so I spoke up and nominated an engineer as foreman instead of the lawyer. He couldn't put aside his lawyerness and just be a citizen. Humph.

LORI, I've had what I think was a migraine one time in my life. I'm so sorry. Do you have any idea what could bring it on?

Well, haven't I spewed enough. Tomorrow is going to be fabulous. Let's make it so.

Peg, I am so sorry nothing has helped. Hopefully tomorrow PT will help and not hurt you any more. Genius looked good, I did see that. I'll have to see if we get that channel. I have no clue about my Comcast. Just that they're awful.
Lori, DH needs to find his way with his mother. My DH thought things were great with his folks till I came in the picture, and then he saw how terribly they treated us. Changed his mind. We stopped speaking to them when the kids were small (not that they saw them before that, even though they lived a few miles away), and even when they died he was fine with that. Sometimes you have to walk away from toxic people. Everyone has their own idea of what is toxic and what isn't, so that's up to DH and you. Our line was when they treated our children SO differently than the "perfect" granddaughters they had with the favorite son. Done! Luckily we were on the same page on that. But it was ugly and awful and terrible for a while before that.
Hoping you get relief and feel better! Sending you big hugs
Did step tonight. It wasn't pretty. The girl leading it isn't good (does saying "whoops" every 5 minutes give you trust??) but finished and didn't trip over anyone!
Have a good night ladies

Still rain showers here.
BERYL, I have tried heat, too. (I'm up for anything) and LORI, I already had an injection which gave me some relief for a day.
Just got the estimate for the patio I wanted. Although I can get a great deal on the pavers, the labor estimate is way more than what I can spend. Guess that's a project for another year or after a lottery win. I'm disappointed, but hey, that's life.
Yankees at Boston was rained out so now I don't have that to watch. Turning out to be a depressing evening.
Is anyone going to watch Genius on Nat'l Geog. TV at 9 tonight? This series is about Einstein and is directed?/produced? by Ron Howard. Looks like it might be good so I have it set to record.
Wishing all a good evening.

Peg

Hello Dear Team,

I awoke to a massive migraine, hmmm, wasn't wearing glasses, I tried to push through it with sleep but way too painful, behind both eyes. I closed the binds took my prescription and finally fell sleep, I hate this. I did get an appointment with the eye doctor this Thursday, to check both eyes and prescription. I'm wearing my old glasses to be safe. OH MY GOSH, DH's mother called him again today. She said that before the recent wedding, I didn't talk to her for a year. Yes, that is true, because she kept saying that "our grandbabies" were not his grandbabies, but when his real daughters have babies then he will be a real grandfather. She was relentless, and quite frankly, p$$sed us off. She tried to apologize twice, but kept stating her point that our babies were not really his. Last night we were to a point where we both felt comfortable with Him going alone, but after her attack on me today, DH does not want to. He did say, "when we were dating, I was so excited to gain a Mother and sister, then the wedding happened, and all that was dashed with his sister's behavior. Every time that I try to reenter his Mom's life she pulls another nasty behavior, insult or something out of her hat. I'm done and it appears that DH is too.

Peg, I hate that you are in so much shoulder pain, what about a cortisone injection, they really help me. Of course, DGS won. I'm glad that you enjoyed the drive. Led Zeppelin, baby. Yes, the drip system is in. He has to come back because he ran out of hose and I was not happy with my Neil Diamonds, strawberries and carnations on being hooked up to it. I'm ok, watering my hanging baskets but those pots need watering daily. Also, he has two different stations for watering. One, only on a timer. The other is a manual turn. I just set my alarm for 20 minutes, no big deal.

Corinne, wow June, for some reason I thought it was later. Yay you, so much happening in between too.

Beryl, when you say PB, you do say it affectionately, yes? I want you to be able to enjoy this wedding and kill the dress you will be wearing.

Kellie, maybe I told you before, that you and my son do the same work. He has had a few bumps in the road but he is successful, too. I'm glad that you are enjoying your home improvement, deck, and finding it relaxing too.

~hugs, Lori

Peg, would heat help? I find sometimes when something hurts heat gives me more comfort. I think it's an individual thing. And of course DGS won!! Glad you're done with jury duty.
I have not looked for nor found a dress yet. I know exactly what I want. The shower is supposedly thrown for her by a good family friend and the MOH. Both my girls, who are in the wedding party, have heard nothing about it. It's the beginning of June. For goodness sake that's when they're sending the invitations out for the wedding!!
I too love when dinner is made. Even planning helps! Last night I cut 2 pounds of brussels sprouts. Tonight I have salmon burgers for dinner, with the sprouts on teh side. Maybe a salad too. But I feel better knowing it's planned. More in control. Tomorrow night is class so DH will get our salads which works for me too. Tonight will be either step at 6 or the hard step/band class at 5:30. I'll see.

Good morning, Team! gray, drizzly...
Yesterday was beautiful! The drive to DGS's game was really enjoyable...beautiful weather and scenery and cranking Led Zep. and they won!
I am done with jury duty; no other trials this week. I understand, CORINNE. They don't want attys, docs (if it's an injury case), judges and probably they wouldn't want me because of my court knowledge and "jaded" view. (A friend says I'm "informed" not jaded; I say I'm jaded because I am informed lol)
So, BERYL, I'm guessing that the wedding party is not putting on the shower. interesting how this is working out. and yes, did you find a dress?
LORI, glad you made that offer to DH. His decision, period. No reason you have to go through that. Is the drip system in yet?
KELLIE, I love when dinner is done. i'm better about it in the winter. Last night after the game I was going to do takeout. Thought how difficult would it be to grab salad makings and make a big Greek salad? So, that's what I did and glad I made that choice. Not to mention it hit the spot!
NICKY and DR SUE, hello.
Trying to get into the vet today. Woke up to find Melinda had been vomiting overnight and just doesn't look well. Hopefully they'll have an opening.
Been alternating naproxen, Tylenol and ibuprophen and ice. Yes, it still hurts, with more frequency than before and other positions/movements now (driving yesterday was killer), PT tomorrow so will see what happens.
Wishing all a good day.

Lori, I am sorry about the family drama. Thank you for the compliment we will see. Theres been a lot of conflict with the group I was in, which was stressful. I have my plan B going just in case. The new team I am working with is really organized and nice best group.

Beryl, I hear you with the wall! I have unsubscribed from most political info to keep my head clear and go to the news only once a day.

Peg, I hope that feel better with the shoulder. I feel like thats always the story with the insurance with them not submitting the full bill to the company. Lots of double work! No one seems accountable, which is frustrating.

Corinne, I work in marketing/communications and advertising for a commercial real estate company. I do a little of everything to get it done. Ha! I have worked for about 20 years ad agencies, production houses, silk screen/embroidery and for about 13 years in commercial real estate. I like the industry because it's a steady pay check. I have a masters in art history and teach periodically too. I love what I do :)

Hi Ladies, a call from mom last night that dads fever went up so he was in and out they got it back down, but signs that he is fighting an infection. They are giving him different meds. Fingers crossed.

Got home on time and had a nice dinner from some crock pot drumsticks I made. Love it when dinner is done. I have been staining the deck little by little good APS and it looks very nice. A good stress releaver

Food is packed and tracked and I am sticking to it - some work to do!!

Have a great day!

Hi Team.

Peg, I'm sorry you're still in so much pain. Is anything giving you relief? Were you able to make it to DGS's game? I'm glad you were dismissed from jury duty. No fun to sit there for hours. I made it as far as alternate once and then didn't get selected. They're very wary of picking attorneys because they think we have a bias and would control the jury.

Lori, hope your migraine went away. It may very well be the new glasses. Sounds like both you and DH handled the family drama well. I've had to do that in the past as well when DH had an activity to go to for his sons and I knew ex would be there. I made the choice to sit it out so there wasn't any drama. She behaved at their high school graduations because my mother-in-law was with us and she wasn't going to make a scene in front of her. Either your DH's mother wants to see him or she doesn't. Why would she invite the sister when she knows how she's treated you? You would think she would want him and you all to herself.

Kellie, what kind of work do you do? You live in Pennsylvania? I'm in Colorado. I'm glad your dad will be returning home. It's also nice that you have the job you want.

Beryl, I'm with you. I could spend hours at Whole Foods. Glad we don't have one in Pueblo or I would be spending a lot of time and money there!

I forget; did you find your mother of the groom dress yet for the wedding? Where is the shower going to be? You don't have to do any work for it, do you?

Our trip is June 20-July 4. I told DD I want her to give me lessons so I'll be better prepared for what we're going to do and see. She happily agreed. She's coming home the day before Mother's Day and we're moving DS back May 17.

Enjoy your day.

Corinne

Good Tuesday morning team. Gray, cloudy, drizzly and windy. A good day to stay in bed. Unfortunately I'm at work!
Lori, so glad you told DH that. His family, his choice. He's welcome to go, but you don't have to put yourself in that position. YAY for you!! You OK with that?
Mani after work. Thank goodness. I went way too long this time and it shows.
Peg, do you have to go in today?
DD is in Baltimore today at a conference. Malaria--how exciting is that?? lol She's meeting up with DS later. Probably the princess bride too. She hasn't heard, but I'm betting yes. SHower is in 6 weeks and no one has heard anything except the PB has told us the date and that it's a brunch. I'd think the girls in the wedding party, who are supposed to be giving it, might have been included....
Off to start my day. Have a good one ladies!

Beryl,

DH doesn't want to visit without me. It's his choice and his circus, see how I threw that in. He will Not do that, but that would be a better choice.

Enjoy your evening, ~hugs, Lori

Good evening team. Back from Whole foods. Not a long evening there. Ari is not content to sit. I could sit forever, on the other hand. lol
Peg, I'm so sorry you're still in so much pain. Meds help? Heat? You better let them know. Good you were let go, and hopefully they'll excuse you. The whole process takes so long! How is your brother, by the way?
Lori, I'm so sorry for the drama. Can DH go visit his family without you? That way you would not have to deal with it. That's what I would do. And did do. I hope the headache is better. Enjoy the garden.
You ladies may have to bake me a chocolate cake with a file in it if the budget is passed with the wall money in it. I will NOT pay federal taxes to go to that wall, so let them throw me in jail. That way the government will pay for me!!
Have a good evening!

Hello again Dear Team,

DH family drama, yet again. This is unbelievably difficult. I was so relieved when we found out that ONLY his Mom would be there. When we saw DH's Mom at the wedding, everything was nice, well almost everything until we walked DM and her friend to their car. They parked in the wrong lot and got locked in. We knew we'd get them out but his DM made it quite difficult. We saw her emotional side, and it isn't pretty. At the wedding she asked DH to visit her. So, yesterday when she called, as usual, and I said we should schedule a time to come and visit her. I told her that it would be a Saturday and that we would drive up, spend a couple of hours with her and drive home. It was going well, until, she said that DH's sister will be so happy to see us. DH's sister treats me terribly, always has since our wedding in 2001. DH remembers more than I do and he told his Mom, we'd like to come and spend time with her only. She kept saying that his sister would love to see us, he said no and left it as that. When I spoke to him today I asked if his mother called him, he said no, but while we were talking he said, someone is calling, I said goodbye. Well it turns out that, that someone calling was his mother and she said if we don't want to visit his sister she doesn't want us to come.

Good job Peg, I'm so surprised they let you go. I didn't use buckets but I did use hoses. I must say 100 times that I hate you to the hoses, as they kink, lay on plants, tangle, trip and more. This garden is so much bigger than my two down south ones. We have more than 240 feet of lines, as I plant on either side of the wavy cement walkways and all 40+ feet in the bed. I was telling DH that if feels more like a farm than a garden, because I'm always working in it. Yesterday, I just gazed.

Kellie, it is so wonderful to hear you love your job and that you are being fought over.

Beryl, do you still post on our FB page too? I haven't in ages, years.

Will is here and handyman is still working. Now, I am back to look for my new car.

~hugs, Lori

Good afternoon team!
Shoulder still hurts...a lot. I go back on Wed. and I will be sure to share that little tidbit with them. Other than that I feel like I accomplished something today. Reported for jury duty and sat there all morning. (Unlike you, CORINNE, I have no, absolutely no, interest in serving. Maybe if the courts, judges and attys. were a little more considerate of the jurors' time. Anyway, after 2 hours they excused most of the first group, then filled the empty spots and I was called. Their plan was to break for lunch for an hour and then start again. I raised my hand and told them that I wanted to let them know that I had PT appts. scheduled for this week. And if they would excuse me, they could refill my seat and get right to it after lunch. The attys thanked me for being considerate of their time. I just responded that after having worked there for 20 years, anything that could help move the process along was a good thing. I do have to call in tonight to see if I have to report tomorrow. Then did "mom banking", straightened out the mammo bill (they never submitted to medicare and so, of course, my secondary denied the claim) In fact, they didn't even have my medicare info although I gave my cards when I checked in and made a point of mentioning that it was now my primary. Hopefully the info has now been entered. I was told that they will submit to medicare. Rescheduled an appt. for mom and checked on materials for a patio of sorts. DGS has a game this afternoon. So, although I still hurt, I am mentally in a much better place...yay
BERYL, there's something to be said for job security :-) And what do they do without you on breaks and vacations? Oh, that's right, no classes to try to get out of....
KELLIE, if I remember correctly, you were always great at packing and tracking. Congrats on the new position. Are those fish back in their pond yet? Glad your dad is better.
CORINNE, when is your trip? coming up soon?
LORI, sorry about the headaches. Could they be connected to the new glasses? Maybe the lens isn't quite correct? A drip system, how wonderful! Certainly beats dragging pails of water around. Hope you get to enjoy your garden.
DR SUE, NICKY and LYNN, I hope you are well.
Beautiful today; clods/rain moving in tomorrow I think.
Interestingly, during the juror orientation, the commissioner gave a short talk about the history of the courthouse...it is the oldest site for a courthouse in the U.S. and we've had 4 Supreme Court Justices from our county. Not to mention our Senate House is the oldest building in the US and another building near the courthouse is the 3rd oldest building. Kingston was also in the running to be the capitol of the US. If nothing else, his talk was worth hearing. There were some things (I am ashamed to admit) I did not know.
Wishing all a good day!

Peg

Lunch break. Only 35 minutes to go till the bell too!
Kellie, good for you packing and tracking. And how exciting the other department wanted you, you wanted them, and they got you! They're lucky to have you. Glad your dad's coming home tomorrow.
Corinne, my weigher is the one I go to, not the leader. I never knew the difference! The last full time leader they had kept gaining weight and gaining weight and she finally left. She started her own weight loss program and now bad mouths WW on FB. It's ugly. She's also still heavy.
Lori, hope the headache goes away and you can enjoy today.

Hi Team, A good Monday plowing though some work and will leave on time. My food is packed and tracked!

Lori, the drip system is very cool how awesome. I hope you feel better soon! I recall when you had the foot/leg pain and how you worked up to lots of steps! The boundary management is something I am always working on I make myself take lunch and to wrap up at a normal time. I am trying to put me first and my health. The job is a good one, so Ive been trying to see if I can make it work. I am actually transitioning into another market (this month), meaning I will just work with the people I like and do what I love with the design. Hopefully parts of the job will go away now. I am positive. Well see. The main group I work for wanted me full-time in their group. My boss says they stole me - lol

Corinne, what an inspiration. You give so much to the team and WW I admire you so much with you journey. Sounds like health/being healthy is first in your world. I started WW in 2004 and man 10 pounds to lose (back and forth) is much harder than the original 80! When I hit 40, it just became harder. I loved the original points plan, but do smart points. Its an art being the weigher a great one is so motivating! I would have a hard time I think when people complained... (at me if they did not lose!! )

Beryl, how is the teaching going?
---
My plan is 10,000 steps and 40 minutes of weight training/circuit this evening.
Dad is coming home tomorrow They seem to have the infection under control.
Have a great day all! Its cold and overcast in Philly as I am working in the city

Hello Dear Team,

Oh Peg, that is what I was worried about, you having more pain with the PT. I'm so sorry and I think that you should do very gentle PT movements. One, after a shoulder surgery, was me bending down, as if I were to touch my toes, and I swung my arm like a pendulum. Slowly, one way and slowly the other way. That kept scar tissue from building and was not painful. Did they ice your shoulder afterwards? I've had Medicare as my secondary since 2008, it makes all of my medical bills much more affordable.

Yes, Beryl, your nursing is way needed, even in an elementary school level. I'm sorry about your Mom, she is so stubborn.

Corrine, that is mighty nice of you to help out at those WW meetings.

Kellie, I remember you working on boundaries at this current job, how is that going?

Well yesterday was a terrible migraine day. Today a small one has been brewing. I did get new glasses about two weeks ago and maybe my eyes just have to get used to them. We are installing a drip system today, for my wonderful garden.

~hugs, Lori

Good Monday morning team. CLoudy and cool today. Not supposed to get nice till later in the week, but it will warm up.
Peg, hopefully the day will go well today and you'll be out early! I enjoy jury duty but am never picked. DS was picked his last week in Philly for a murder trial! And he couldn't say anything to me till afterwards!!
Corinne, hope you get a chance to relax at some point today! How much longer till Greece?
How did these kids get through break without a nurses office??? lol Job security.
Have a great day ladies

Peg, are you feeling better today? When will you have to go to PT again? Just keep reminding yourself that it's better than surgery. Good luck with jury duty today. I've always wanted to serve because I think it would be fascinating to see what goes on in those rooms but I've never been picked. They look at me, know I'm a lawyer and know my DH is one as well and dismiss me immediately.

Lori, I hope you were able to remain migraine free. Maybe you'll be able to work out in your yard if the weather cooperates?

Kellie, I'm a receptionist at WW. I like dealing with members one on one and I get to do that at the scale more than the leaders do. I'm also the location coordinator for our center so I order all the product. I became an employee of WW so it would help me control my weight. First time I reached LT was in 1989. Dropped out in 1997 after my cancer diagnosis and the loss of my father. Came back in 2004 and have worked since 2005. I too feel the pressure of having to weigh in once a month. For a long time I had a nice cushion but that cushion is gone and I'm just holding steady at my goal.

Dr. Sue, how are your wrists doing? Is work keeping you busy? Miss hearing from you.
Nicki, too. How is SM and NM?

Beryl, are you back at work this week?

Busy Monday ahead so checked in early. Have a good day!

Corinne

Good gorgeous Sunday team! Sunny and pleasant. Just did an hour walk and getting ready for Zumba.
Kellie hope your dad is ok! Sending good thoughts for all of you
Corrine I'm a WW for life! It changed my eating and my body and I weigh in every week. I have to because for me monthly is way too long. I can get much too lazy and (as our Nicky says) COMPLACENT
Vegetable soup for dinner tonite with baked tortillas on the side.
Have a wonderful day ladies!

Hi Corrine, I love how great you are about boundaries and the WW center. I love weight watchers, but sometimes I get overwhelmed with having the pressure of going and weighting in with all life's stuff. I definitely go once a month. I am so thankful for them - you are a leader I take it? Awesome. I have been with ww since 2004 and it's changed my life. I really love it.

HI Beryl, I hear you with mom. I am sorry you are having this stress. Sometimes my parent's forget what the doctor's tell them depending on the situation - meds, anxiety, etc.

Hi Peg, The health insurance paperwork is so crazy. I have a friend on our health plan at work that had a knee infection and now needs a knee replacement. She can't get any additional PT this year already and the medical bills! It's crazy. I've started saving more for that as a backup when I can. I can't want to hear more about your garden!

---

Hi Ladies, Friday Tom was at the Philly's game - I went to get paper products before my coupons expire (so lame!! - but I love a deal) and yesterday the weather was rainy, so I took two naps with the cats, read and grocery shopping. My dad had a minor surgery last week and developed some fever so they took him back to the hospital 10 pm. We were there till about midnight. He seems ok, but they are trying to figure out what's causing the fever./infection I will check in with mom in a bit. He had a fall a couple years ago, and his health is a lot better, but he's pretty fragile. He is very positive, sweet and really has bounced back, so I will stay positive.

Depending on the day, I am going to out this morning for a quick walk and get ready for the week.

Have a good day!

Beryl, we only have 5 WW meetings for the week! I work the Tuesday morning, Friday lunch and Saturday. The other two are night meetings and I gave up working at night a long time ago. I told them to only call me to sub when there's no one else. I turn into a pumpkin at 5 and just want to be home in my pajamas at that time. Since I'm self-employed like DH I can set my own hours. We don't have very many receptionists so I've been doing 3 for quite a while. My friend who's DH is in hospice is also a receptionist but no way is she working. We're just doing without the extra help. There are more important things than meetings.

Lori, I hope you are migraine free. Those are horrible. Thanks for the prayers. I always appreciate when I get prayers. We can all use them. Is your DS happy with the change he made in his career?

Peg, you're allowed to have one of those days. It's frustrating dealing with pain, insurance, etc. I hope today is a better day. DH is on medicare but it may different in Colorado. He's never said he has an issue and I take care of the bills so I haven't noticed any problem. Yet. By the time I'm 65 there may be no medicare or social security if Ryan and McConnell have their way. Very frightening times we live in now.

Off to PF for my solitude workout. Then groceries. I like doing both those things in these early morning hours while DH sleeps.

Have a good Sunday. Hello to Dr. Sue, Nicky and everyone else.

Corinne

Good afternoon, Team!
My shoulder is killing me, today...darn PT. Helped ex-hubs make some venison summer sausage today. Looking forward to my share after it is smoked.
CORINNE, to top it all off, I have to report for jury duty on Monday...sheesh Like all places, some good, some bad (attys and judges, that is) It had gotten bad before I retired. So much more work as enacted by the legislature, particularly foreclosures and divorces and less personnel. oh well, as BERYL says, not my circus
LORI, a person can never have enough plants! lol Glad your day with DD went well.

Have I vented about how much I hate being on Medicare? For some reason, my providers just don't seem to know how to deal with it and I get bills and denials, etc. Today rec'd a bill for my mammo for over $400. Of course, I have to sit and wait until Monday before I can address it. Wish they had just left me alone with my old insurance (which is now secondary) annoying......

I need sun and warmth to deal with this crap......
Hope everyone is having a better day than I am currently "enjoying" boo hiss

Good grey, cool, gloomy Saturday team. Down .6 at WI. NOT what I'd hoped for after my big loss for my prep, but I'll take it! Shows how good I am at putting weight on!
Corinne, you work 3 meetings? That's a busy day! Our center was open daily, now it'd down to like 4 days a week, and just for certain meetings. Saturdays are packed which is good.
Lori, glad things worked out for you and DD. The prayers are much appreciated and hope you remained migraine free.
Peg, any games today?'
My mother called me yesterday to say she'd been to the NP because of right leg pain (her legs look ghastly--swollen and discolored to begin with) and she found fluid, and elevated BP (she takes meds), and crackles in her lungs, so she got a chest xray and she increased her lasix. She made sure to call me back to remember to tell me something she forgot so I know she isn't keeping things from me. I let my brother know, and she told him nothing about the lungs. We had been there the day before and she had said nothing to usl
I did not have a chance to call the office to speak to the NP because they close early on Fridays. Today I call my mother and she never told me the NP called her to say the CXR was normal. Might have been something Id wanted to know??
My brother is going down today to "see an old high school teacher" that I've never heard of. Sounds very odd to me. Very odd. Going for just a couple of hours in the afternoon. Hmmm....he'll run in and see my mother. Whatever.
In the meantime my mother gave all 3 of her children a check to do with as we wish so she doesn't have to pay taxes on all her money. We divvied it up among our kids. My SIL said thre other day that obviously my mother hasn't done anything about that because she oversees my nephew's account and there's no change. So clearly my brother is not only keeping it, which is his choice, but not telling her, which is not cool.
I HATE THIS!!
OK enough whining. Thanks for listening
Have a good evening ladies

Good morning Team,

Wow, Corrine, both of you are attorneys. My son, got his BA and Masters in Business and Marketing. More than a decade later, he decided to go to law school and he passed the bar, and is now an attorney. Sadly, he works a full time job and isn't able to intern anywhere. When he's not working he's enjoying his son.

Today I feel better, we have no plans and if I can remaine migraine free I'll be happy.

Last night I prayed for you all and I'm wishing you a brilliant day, ~hugs, Lori

Good Morning Team!

Early post since I have to go work our Saturday WW meeting. We only have 5 in Pueblo and I work 3 of them!

Taking my mom to lunch today. My sister was supposed to join us but she and her husband had to go to New Mexico. His dad is in the hospital.

Kellie, thank you for your kind words. I look forward to getting to know you. I was welcomed into this team around December I think. Such a great supportive group of women!

Peg, I love our clerks! Nothing gets done without them. They have to put up with more crap from attorneys, judges, etc. I hope you were able to work with a good bar because some are not. Pueblo is still more like a small town where everyone knows each other so generally the attorneys are decent. We still have our share of jerks. Our judges are all really good so that helps. I see changes though from when I first started. People are certainly more litigious and act like they've won the lottery any time something happens. I'm glad I'm nearing the end of my career and I'm delighted neither of my children chose this profession. Attorney as a group are not generally very nice. I'll bet you could write a book with all your experiences! I would love to read that!

You'll get inspired again. It may be the pain in your shoulder as well as the gloomy weather.

Lori, enough plants? I never thought I would hear you say that! Your yard looks so beautiful.

Dr. Sue, Nicky, how are you? Miss hearing from you.

Have a good Saturday team!

Corinne

Hello Dear Team,

I spent today with DD1, we had a good time, I'm sorry that I posted about it, but I appreciate all of your love and wisdom.

Peg, I hope that PT will help, icing should too. Although we all love heat.

I think, that I have enough plants now emoticon . We shall see. I'm just so tired of planting, yes you heard this from me.

I'm ending with this, I'm just too tired to post tonight. It's Shabbot and this mean many prayers for my Team.

~hugs, Lori

Checking back in team.
PT was fine; my shoulder is quite achy now, though. Went to class and played with pastels. It has been a couple of weeks since I made an appearance there. Class was ok, but it is so gray and gloomy that I wasn't inspired or motivated very much.
LORI, you don't have to choose between your father and DD. You simply let everyone know what's going on and who will be there. THEY ARE ADULTS (yes, shouting for emphasis) They will decide what they want to do. Had to do that when ex-hubs's (DH at the time) parents separated. I said I wasn't worrying about it. I would let everyone know what was going on and who would be there and they would make their choice. They're not kids anymore and we can't "fix" it. End of tough love rant. The question for DD is...if something were to happen to your father, would she feel bad about opportunities lost? As I said, her decision and she lives with what flows from that decision.
KELLIE, glad you enjoyed the pizza. Love seeing where you and Tom go.
CORINNE, I was dep. chief clerk for the supreme and county courts in our county. Retired in 2010 after 21 years. Was interesting to say the least.
BERYL, what a full day! and reading, to boot!
Hope everyone had a great day. Getting ready to turn on the Yankees.
I would love to visit Chanticleer Gardens, but will probably not make it. Can I talk BERYL or KELLIE into going there so I can live vicariously? lol

Lori, how sweet !! Thanks so much! I dont try to post too much, just some neat places others may want to go. I feel close as well!

Corinne, I have the challenge too with some of the back to back conference calls. I have had that happen myself. I know what you mean about your friends husband esp. with the health issues. I'm sorry to hear. Love hearing about your career.

Beryl, I want half your energy! Nice job on the workouts.

The guys ordered out today at work just had a lot of fun chatting and laughing with the team. Back to work. Had pizza and I loved every bite haha

Trying to get few things done and head out! I hope you all have a great Friday.
Plan to track and get 10K and maybe weights.

Peg and Beryl, thank you for the kind words. No one treated it as a big deal at all. It's just me and my perfectionistic tendencies. I may not have mentioned before that I'm an attorney. DH is as well! You should hear some of our arguments! :0

Peg, hope PT goes well and alleviates the pain.

Beryl, I admire your fitness level so much! Wish I could do half the activity you do!

Enjoy your weekend.

Good Friday team. Cool and drizzling. Puttered around the house , did Zumba, now waiting for barre to start. Oil change and market then home after that.
Corrine I don't think I knew you were a lawyer. You have so much going on a little slip up is nothing!
Peg how was PT?
Lori DD won't know how you feel unless you tell her. You do so much for her
Reading a great Greg Iles book. He's such a terrific writer. And I get to sit here and read(when not on my phone). Lol

Good morning, Team. Back from PT and now off to class. Will check back in later, but I wanted to say to CORINNE...read your last post...no wonder times are slipping by you. Too much stuff going on that your brain doesn't focus on or absorb details like time. It will get better. I worked for the courts for about 20 years. Yes, we know who never misses and for those attys. it is not a big deal. (For some others, however...lol)

Happy Friday!

Lori, I agree that you should let DD1 know it hurt your feelings not to be included. What difference would one more person make? It's not like you were going to bring a band with you! I'll bet she didn't even realize it felt like she was excluding you. Why does DD2 not like being around your dad? It's awful that you have to choose. It's not like you get to see your dad that often.

I'm grateful that my parents in law were so good to me. I loved them dearly as well as my two brother-in-law and their wives. Only one I don't get along with is DH's sister. I even like her DH. She doesn't get along with her other sisters-in-law either so it's not just me. I'm just grateful we live 200 miles from each other and don't have to see one another very often. Stupid wedding. I remember Lori how you were anxious about your stepdaughter's wedding and you sailed through it. I'll keep that in mind. First, I need to find a killer dress/skirt. Maybe I'll find something exotic in Greece!

Beryl, I'm fine. Just time running away from me. I'm worried about my mind. Think I'm losing it! I've been an attorney for over 32 years and in all that time I have NEVER missed a court appearance. I did on Wednesday and I'm so embarrassed! I was at the hospital meeting with clients so no cell phone. By the time I got to my car I had several urgent messages. I had it in my mind that court was at 11 because it always is when the hearings are held at the judicial building. Forgot it was changed to 8:30 to accommodate the doctor. I apologized to everyone and the judge said no big deal because I never miss. They continued the hearing for a week but I'm still mortified. Even my client was happy it was continued for a week so it's just me beating up me.

I also had a doctor appointment wrong. Thought it was 11:50 but it was 11:10. I'm always early so they knew something was up. My doctor tried reassuring me I'm not getting dementia just because I missed a couple of things. This week has been unsettling.

My best friend's DH has finally decided to go into hospice. I had coffee with her on Wednesday and the stress is clearly getting to her. It broke my heart to see her like that. She's completely responsible for his care and he keeps falling. Won't eat, barely drinks. Using a catheter, sleeping in a hospital bed in the living room while she sleeps on the couch. His heart doctor told him yesterday his heart is functioning at 20%. He gently agreed it was time. I feel so helpless. I love this woman and there's nothing I can do to ease her pain.

I'm worried about my stubborn mother. Third round of antibiotics, breathing treatments, etc. and she's still not back to par. I'm going to take her to lunch tomorrow so hopefully she'll be feeling better. I think my sister will join us.

Peg, my sister loves Pit Bull, too!

My DD laughed because I quoted Bruno to her. Told her to put some perm on it because she needed to relax. I guess I need the same advice!

Have a good weekend, team. Thanks for letting me vent. You're such a wonderful group of ladies! Glad I'm part of your team. :)

Ok, to be honest it was only one text. I've never been with the babies when they dye easter eggs. DD2 was invited because she wasn't going to be at the easter dinner. DD1 knows, because I told her that I was so excited to watch them dye the eggs, for the first time. I wanted to come but she said, "We're gonna keep it pretty simple tonight. So just us and DD2, with a smiley face. I was heartbroken and angry. I went through all of the times she asked for me to watch the kids, feed the kids, pick up the kids and I ask for this and she says no. It cut like a knife.

The reason that DD2 wasn't joining us for easter dinner because my Dad would be there and she doesn't like him, and won't be around him. This brings me so much stress too. I feel punished for loving my Dad and she feels punished cuz she can't be with me when he is around me.

Good evening team. Just back and eating (so what else is new?) LOL
Lori, take care of yourself! I agree with Peg--say something. If you don't she doesn't know the texts are upsetting you.
Corinne--you OK?? I missed you today
Peg, of course they won! I mean, really?! Was it cold there?
Had a lovely day at the beach. Started out cool and cloudy, became warm and sunny. Shopped, drank, ate, and woggled on the boardwalk. Visited with my mother which was fine since we were headed home.
Osh Kosh had buy 1 get 2 free--the kidlets made out yet again today!
Tomorrow is DSs birthday. 31. How did that happen????
Have a good evening ladies

Good evening, Team!
Back from the game; they won. I just learned that DGS is the only 7th grader on the team. I didn't realize that his friends are a grade ahead of him.
LORI, it will be hard, but maybe you should mention to DD1 that her texts are upsetting. The DDs phone calls were like that for me until I started asking them...Are you just venting? or should I be thinking of a solution? Made all the difference in the world. And of course, we know how stress can aggravate FM. Congrats on the baby!
Hope my team has a good evening.

Hello Dear Team,

Yahoo, Kellie is back, Kellie meet Corrine. I've not been on FB much but when I am and see you and what you do, where you go and lots of pictures I feel close to you.

Peg, I wonder, if you put some stakes down on all sides of your shed, that is would hold up in the wind. I love hearing when you are gardening. It's so windy here today, Ugh! I don't like it one bit. Yesterday, I went out and sprayed all of my plant leaves with fertilizer. As I was checking my artichoke plant for the nasty bugs, I was delighted to see a baby artichoke. I called my DD1 to tell her and she went out to check hers too, and what do you know she has one too. We were sooooooo excited. Yucky story about the mice. Great job, DGS, wow.

Beryl, I'm so glad that you got through the prep and are now polyp free. Jo is so funny, she comes up with the most interesting things. Are you afraid that her eating may bring her to our weight loss struggles? All of my grandbabies eat 24/7. It's crazy. When they are over, it's a constant eating frenzy. Our grocery bills are higher just because of their appetites. I think it's because of their growth spurts. They are all active, except for Jackie, he is a bean pole. He likes playing with Legos, video games, etc.

Corrine, I'm so happy that your Easter was wonderful. My first colonoscopy was horrid. I could Not drink the stuff. I'd promptly vomit it up. Thankfully, I was clean and clear enough for the procedure. My second one, the prep was different, I was able to keep it down. I know that you are stressed about this wedding, remember how stressed I was too. I made it through and I think you will, also. It's difficult not to worry about it, I know, but try not to as much. I wish that both you and I had better in laws.

Dr. Sue, yay for all the help, while at camp. Ewwwww, on the poor raccoon. I'm glad that you had help burying the poor fellow. How is your finger, doing? Is your wrist improving, at all?

Nicky, great job on your research and dairy/dribble experiment. Did you have any visitors for Easter? I pretended that I was at Santa Monica pier with you.

My visit, with my Dad and brother was very nice. They both really like our new home. It was lots of work for me but it was worth it. Since their visit I have been not feeling very well, migraines, aches and pains, etc. it most likely a FM flare up. DD1 upset me, pretty badly on Saturday. She does not know it. I was in a lot of pain and my IBS was terrible on Easter. She worried that their was a problem at DH's job, but it was because of her that we were sad. I think that she needs to be more sensitive to how she texts me things. Anyhoo, I may be over it now, I can hope, yes?

~hugs, Lori

Good afternoon Team!
Gray and cloudy. DGS's game yesterday was postponed to today because of rain. Of course the rain started after I drove the 30 miles to get there. Will try again today. Had a mani, did some banking for mom, waiting for a fellow master gardener to stop by with some ideas, then off to the game. Trying to be OP, but it is a losing battle. As soon as a dreary, gray, rainy, cold day pops up, I am out of control.
BERYL, enjoy the beach! Sounds wonderful. Funny what attracts the focus of small ones. So cold, I dug out my winter jacket and gloves to go to the game yesterday.
KELLIE, it is too cold here for a lot of plants, but some are hardy enough. The problem with some of the plants from the large stores is that even though they are rated hardy for our zone, they were grown in the south and have difficulty adjusting to the temps and weather here. Always a pleasant surprise when plants overwinter and they look good in the spring. Good for you getting the bulbs in.
Hope the rest of my team is well. Wishing all a good day.

Peg

Good Thursday morning team. Sort of gray and cool, but warming up. Off to the beach for the day. SHopping, woggling, and eating. Works for me
I too wonder about our seasons. We had such an odd winter, and now our days, which should be warming up, are still cold some days. Last evening was cold when Jo and I went out.
She is obsessed with bad guys. She sees or hears a police car and has to endlessly dissect the issue--what the bad guys did, where they are, and so on. I finally resorted to the "not our monkeys". lol. She said she's "allergic" to bad guys. Lucky for us! Bought her new sneakers as her 3 week old new ones were coming apart. I do worry about her eating. She eats cause she loves to. Loves it all. Finishes a meal and wants to know where her snack is.....
Peg I bet that other team did not wonder anything at all when they were so soundly beaten! Maybe if they could get a 7th grader on their team???
Off to get dressed. Will wear a cute long sleeve workout top down there with black leggings and bring my sneakers and a short sleeve top to change.
Have a great day all

Hi Ladies, left work on time yesterday and made it home to get some thing done . Trying to get more done Planted some spring bulbs that have bloomed in pots (I have a grow light in my gym with plants I winter moved them all outside what a mess left over) in my garden and started planning my flower boxes. All the flowers are out at the garden centers, though I think its too cold in Philly to plant.

Beryl, I love the Latin music dancing heheh its never pretty when I workout with the DVDs hahah ! I am not coordinated.

Peg, I think the seasons are shifting too. We hardly had a winter and I had some perennials not die, so they look wonderful, especially on my deck.
Plan to be OP today and weights. Lots going on at work. I hope you all have a wonderful day. My Christmas cactus is going to town!

Take good care, Kel

Good morning Team. Cool here, too.
I agree with DR SUE. What about seasonal temps seasonally? Maybe our seasons are shifting. The past couple of years I started thinking of pool season as no longer ending in early Sept., but maybe extending into Oct. I, however, still close it right after Labor Day. By then, I am tired of dealing with it.
I, too, like alone time. (I guess that's good considering there's no DH here). Went to the gym and now I want to get some more seeds planted (rainbow chard and kale) before it rains. Hoping the showers hold off as DGS has another game at 4 and I'd like to see it. At yesterday's game one of the opposing players made an uncomplimentary comment about how there were 7th graders on our team. Wonder what he thought of them after the game lol. First PT appt. is on Friday morning. Anxious to get started. Might have a patio put in by the pool deck. Can't get grass to grow there anyway and then I would have a place to put the old style metal rockers and table that I brought from mom's house. Would give me incentive to sand and repaint them.
Wishing all a good day!

Peg

Good morning everyone. Sort of gray and cool here. Going to meet my SIL for lunch, take Josephine out for dinner, buy my annual park pass, and go for a walk. Missed zumba.
Found out my DH qualifies for a lifetime park pass for $10!! You can get one at 2 parks here in Delaware, and we're driving past them tomorrow on our way to the beach for the day. I don't qualify yet. Thank goodness!! lol My mother is annoyed I didn't tell her a long time ago we were coming down for the day because she has plans. I said we'd stop in on our way back. I want to take Jo but DH thinks it's too much for our shopping and woggling on the boardwalk to bring her. That's fine.
Kellie, so happy you're back!!
DrSue, I hope you get a break today. Watch those wrists.
Peg, DGS is unbelievable. He certainly can write his own ticket.
Nicky, I was one of those crazy moms with the kids who went everywhere. But having 3, the odds were against me anyway. I worked weird hours so I could be home with them, so I was usuallly available. I tried to get them in things together so that helped a bit. Or they stayed at school and did things and took the late bus home. DH did the sports stuff, not me, so that helped too.
Corinne, my kids die that I love Pitbull! I think embarrassing them is in the job description!! I love my latin music and listen to it all the time, shaking and dancing. It's not pretty. lol
Planned dinner tonight--lamb burgers, salad with roasted squash and arugula, and vegetable puffs I got frozen for Passover we'll use up. Very few calories so we'll see how they taste. Very few ingredients so I like that too.
Off to start my day. Have a good one ladies!

Hi Ladies, yes, managing to get some day trips on the weekend to get away & posting some on Facebook. It might be a few hours, but much needed if we can. Nice to just drive.
The fish are still in but the ponds are ready to go. They are going pretty good and no causalities this year! We found two frogs from last season they are so fat!! Not sure what the heck happened emoticon ; lol

Hoping to get to Hershey gardens over the weekend to see the tulips.

Corinne love Bruno mars his interviews are always so uplifting!

Packed and tracked, plan to get my steps in and salmon for dinner. What I made last night was terrible lol. Eating shoes might have been more tasty. Poor tom hahah he had PBJ -- it was ok when you are used to better and peanut butter, fat free crackers and fiber :O

The crazies are here at work, got to get the day started!! Take good care!

Good Morning Lovely Team!

You made my heart so happy with your comments! Thank you for making me feel part of the team right from the beginning. Amazing how much support I feel with these messages and I hope I return that support back as well.

Peg, your DGS is certainly talented! He must have been so excited 16-0 is incredible! I'm glad you won't have to be going through surgery. PT should be more manageable. Are you in pain? Is it hard to do normal things like washing your hair? Glad your shed could be salvaged and you had help turning it upright.

Beryl, I'm glad everything went well and you can wait another 10 years. Unfortunately because of my breast cancer history I have to go every 5 years. Did you get versed? Best drug ever invented! I would like a home supply to get me through the next four years but no one will prescribe it!

Congrats on the 5 lb loss! There has to be some benefit to the torture of the preparation and starving. Fasting always brings out my food issues big time.

Dr. Sue, I'm glad your week went well; other than having to bury a raccoon. You and Peg are amazing. How's your pain level for your wrists? I'm with Nicky, sometimes a burger just hits the spot. I never eat hot dogs either but whenever I'm in Chicago, I always get a Chicago dog at Navy Pier.

I had to laugh at your description of Q and how he had other ideas for the way you would spend your time. Sounds like you and Nicky have been well trained by your pets!

Nicky, I love hearing about your excursions to the beach and pier. So lucky to be able to see the ocean anytime you want! I feel like you do about solitude. Love DH but don't mind at all when I get a block of time to myself. I get re-energized by solitude. Enjoy your staycation. Best part of not having DH home, no cooking!

Off for my morning walk again before I have to start my day. Love the quiet and solitude this time of day. I've been taking my earphones to listen to my music. I get very motivated to walk faster by Bruno Mars! It cracks my kids up endlessly that I like his music. I'm the original oldies queen so they find this amusing.

Have a great day everyone!

Corinne

Good chilly morning team. Back in the 30's. Enough! Can't we have seasonal temperatures seasonally? What a concept!

Peg, your GS is amazing! Sounds like he will be able to write his own ticket to college! Then who knows.

Kellie welcome back. It sounds like you have been busy. Hope to hear some stories!

Nicky, what a great walk! Yes, our critters do keep us moving. When those brown eyes look at me, my heart melts. It boggles my mind when people think animals can't talk or are stupid.

Corrine, enjoy your time alone. My DH is off to do a boat delivery next week. Then sailing season is fully here.

Lori, how are your new plants adjusting?

Beryl I hope today is a really good day. Gotta be better than yesterday!

Ok team, I am off. Long work day today. Have a great one!

CORINNE, I love your contributions here! You always have something uplifting to say to any one of us who needs it. I enjoy hearing about your family and your home, too.

BERYL, I had sympathy pains waiting to hear how the procedure went. So happy it will be another ten years before I must go through your ordeal again. emoticon

PEG, whatta mess! I guess the shed just sits on the ground without any kind of foundation or platform? My parents' shed has a floor, I think, but it's up against a block wall, so I doubt it could ever get knocked over.
Congratulations to DGS! My DS was also a pitcher. I sure got a lot of knitting done at games when both children were in school. Both children are quite athletic, but I allowed only two outside activities each. That meant guitar lessons and tennis for one child and two for the other child. That gave me 4 opportunities per week to squire them about town instead of the whirlwind which was the life of other moms.
Not only did my children need some down time, but so did I!

What a relief that nothing is torn in the shoulder. Time and PT, I guess, will facilitate healing. It's the "time" part that is the pits because, knowing some about you now, don't imagine to sit around babying yourself.

KELLIE!!! How cool that you're back! We want to hear all about your escapades and how you are treating yourself and getting or staying OP.

I walked a few miles with Gunther this morning, and then I walked four miles with a friend who was in town for the day. We walked to the Santa Monica Pier. It's still Easter break, so it was crowded and full of vendors. I watched a gal put her dollar in the Zoltar machine to get her fortune told! Didn't it used to cost 25 cents to get Zoltar to talk?
It was great to just walk and talk and take in the scenery.

DRSUE, sometimes a gal just has to have a burger, no questions asked.
Amazing how our dogs just can't stand to let us sit! Quint sounds as needy as Gunther.
Are you supposed to do PT along with the braces, or is the idea to not move? Seems to me everything would stiffen up if not moved every day, but if it's an over use injury, what the heck are you supposed to do?

DH is going to visit DD in Denver and his brother in Dallas starting on the 25th. Yay!!! He's a darling, and I love his company, but, boy, I sure love the solitude, too. Now that he's somewhat retired, he doesn't travel as much (at all, really) as when we had little ones. Back then he was traveling a bunch. Sometimes I would travel with him and make it into a mini vacation, especially when he chaired a conference every August in Manhattan. Usually, though, I kept the home fires burning with two little kids and a bunch of animals. Good times.

When you arise in the morning,

give thanks for the morning light, for your life and strength.

Give thanks for your food and the joy of living.

If you see no reason for giving thanks, the fault lies in yourself.

So good to hear from you again, KELLIE! In addition to the "Tom adventures" I love your pond and fish stories. (Are they back outside? Did they fare well over the winter?)
BERYL, glad all went well.
DR SUE, Maybe we all need a Q to help us meet our goals.

DGS pitched the entire game. Final score 16 - 0 (DGS's team won!)

Wishing all a good evening.

Beryl, I'm glad all went well today. Glad you got your sandwich and nap!

Peg, your DGS is amazing. Glad you got he shed back up. I guess that's one way to clean things out.

I worked this am, did a spin (yay me!) then a bunch of stuff around the house. Just as I settled down to read, I was informed I was mistaken. Quint let me know in uncertain terms that he wanted out for a walk. Then he made sure we went where he wanted. Smiled the whole way. A successful outing. Workout done, step goal made, happy dog! Tracking too, so that's good. Food is calorie counting OK. We have a friend who works for a restaurant supply company. We buy some stuff from him. DH had thawed a packed of burgers. I, who almost never eat beef find these to be the BEST burger ever. I might eat 2 a year. We decided at lunch that neither was that hungry so do a late lunch/ early dinner. I was ready to eat the wallpaper by 3 so I made a nice salad. Just had my insane burger. Delish! Guess I made my protein and iron quota for the day! Baby steps.

Good cooler but sunny Tuesday. Back and all good. 2 small polyps and back in 10 years. I can manage that. I can say that drink at 4am was the WORST!!
Peg, glad surgery isn't indicated. PT is do-able. Your DGS is such a jock!! And cute to boot! Enjoy!
DrSue, thanks for the warning. YUCK! Glad you got help and a little respite at camp. I hope you can rest your wrists while working? Not sure how that will work
Corinne, I can't remember when you weren't part of the team! So glad you found us. Enjoy the walk. I cannot drive today but may go for a walk after my nap.
Had my tuna on light rye I was craving. Oh, and I made them write my weight down since I was down nearly 5 pounds. YAY!! I probably already gained it back. lol
Have a good day ladies

Good afternoon, Team! A beautiful sunny day, but what a difference in temps between Sunday and yesterday and today.
BERYL, I hope you are home, all went well and you've been able to eat something. And then a nap (I know it's not Saturday, but after all)
DR SUE, welcome back. Glad it went pretty well. Poor raccoon. Good thing you had some help. I laughed at your warning to BERYL and LORI. Reminded me of news programs where they announce "the following footage may not be appropriate for all viewers". And that reminds me of the movie ratings when I was a kid. Growing up Catholic there was a special ratings chart and it was bad bad bad if you went to one of "those" movies. Hope your motivation comes back. I'm still looking for mine, even though I say over and over "this is it, back on track for me".
CORINNE, if I haven't said it before, I, too, think you have seamlessly blended in and I am thankful for that. I love making new friends that seem like old friends.

Back home from the doc. MRI showed no tears or anything that requires surgery. Just a very inflamed rotator tendon. I will start PT.
Last evening three neighbors and I righted the shed. A crease on the back where it fell on a landscaping board, but that's the only damage. (Except for age problems. This shed was here when we bought the house in 1980, so I have nothing to complain about. My neighbor tried to convince me that I should get a new one. When this one has totally hit rock bottom, I will. It works and so I will keep it.). But it's up and everything is put back in, minus the stuff that will go out into the trash this week.
Will watch DGS's game this afternoon. He's supposed to be the starting pitcher. I find that amazing.
Hope everyone has a great day.

Peg

Hi there team. I'm back! Beryl good luck with the colonoscopy. Your students are frustrating to say the least.

Lori, your plants are beautiful. I hope you had wonderful family time.

Nicky, I'm glad your dairy experiment is helping.

Corinne, you have fit right in here right from the beginning! I'm glad your holiday was drama free. Sorry your DH's EX is a drama queen.

Peg, I'm glad your holiday was mostly OK. Sorry your Mom was so distraught. I feel your pain. It was soo windy the last two days. I attempted to try ans do some yard work out there, cutting back my ornamental grasses. They have been pummeled by rain and snow, so I can't just weed whack them. I managed one, was frustrated. I went to my shed to look for a leaf rake. It was a moment like in the movie psycho, It took me several seconds to process what I was looking at. (Beryl, Lori you might want to cover your eyes) a raccoon had crawled in and died. It was not there the day before. It had been a beautiful animal. Unfortunately, my two hypotheses were poison or rabies. DN and GF helped me dig the hole. I put on gloves and pulled it out of there onto a shovel. Thank heavens they were there. Grave digging in very rocky ground is not on the list of approved activities by my Ortho.
The rest of the weekend was tame. I cooked dinner Friday (grilled swordfish, roasted potatoes and broccoli) and Sat night. Dad changed gears a little, he wanted to do an early lamb dinner on Easter, but the "kids" had to head back to college by 2pm. So I made the lamb dinner, mashed potatoes, and asparagus with holllandaise Sat night and we went to a local restaurant for after church lunch Sunday. That alleviated some pressure as things take me longer to do. The kids peeled the potatoes and did the dishes. So all good.

It was a pretty good drive home. Today is short for me, so I hope to get on my spin bike. I need to stop feeling sorry for myself.

Have a great one folks. Off to surgery!

Beryl, good luck today on your colonoscopy. Glad you were able to move it up to an earlier time. I always ask for the first appointment of the day. I don't even mind the starving so much but I sure HATE the preparation you have to drink. In November I took my last dose at 2 in the morning and promptly vomited. As a result I have to go back in 3 years to do it all again. I hope they give you good drugs and you can take a long nap after you eat!

It's pretty scary that your students can't grasp deadlines or calendars. What's going to happen if they actually have real jobs to go to every day? I can hear your frustration although amusing at the same time!

Peg, are you able to salvage your storage shed? You must have really had incredible winds to knock it over like that. I'm with Beryl about your critters. I would be so grossed out. You're a very brave woman!

My 82 year old mother is on her 3rd round of antibiotics. They found "pre-pneumonia" on her x-ray. She should have just gone to the hospital 4 weeks ago like her doctor suggested. Instead she's been sick for four weeks. So stubborn. She's a retired R.N. so she always knows more than everyone else.

It's already 50 degrees so I'm going to take an hour walk before I get ready for the day. One benefit to the sun rising so early.

Hello to the rest of the team.

Corinne

And I totally thought that about the wine. It would also cut down on any anesthesia needed! Which I need now as I'm on the line with Comcast. I am ready to kill myself or someone else. Plus I'm starving.

Gee, BERYL, isn't white wine a clear liquid? lol

Seems to me students have a problem with due dates and breaks every semester. What is going on?

Oh, Peg, all that is too gross for words to me!! You're a saint!
My students are completely incapable of figuring out that we end week 6 tomorrow, then HAVE SPRING BREAK TILL OUR LAST WEEK. Yes, I'm shouting. I've had numerous emails asking me the date of the last class and when things are due that week because the break is confusing them....I can't even.....
Drinking my low sodium chicken broth. BLECH. I need the real thing now.
