PEG! What great memories of your grandfather! Why do they think they can get away with making stollen without butter? Not worth the calories any more.

How is DGS? I'm thinking he might do some collagen to help healing more quickly. Protein for repair, and all that.
When I broke my leg, my ortho was amazed that the bones healed in 6 weeks. I asked him if he wanted to know how I was supplementing, and he wasn't very interested, even though he looked at the X-rays and said, "Remarkable."

BERYL, I get joy in hearing about you and your grandchildren.

KELLIE, do you wonder how you ever had the time to do all you do when working? When home, it seems like we can perform all the tasks we put on the back burner.
Great that you can indulge in self care and a little retail therapy.

KATHIE!!! I am so darned happy for you! Please post as often as you can. I miss you. I still would love to see pics of the completed sun room. You have marvelous taste.

The Biltmore is such a glorious place. I image it's magnificent at Christmas.

So far, I have the ridicu-fake tree inside and put out all the stuffed bears. We live in the kitchen, so there is a lighted garland, as well as some of my nutcracker collection on the kitchen table. If it weren't for SM and DS coming over, I wouldn't even bother to decorate the living room.

LYNN, cards should be the last of your worries. Your life is stressy enough.
I've stopped sending cards except to those I adore and don't see very often.

The new WW program seems to be maybe lower in carbs and stressing more protein; is that correct?

The fire nearest to us was apparently started by homeless in an encampment. There is black soot everywhere, as I've said, but I'm still incredulous. That means we've been sucking up that blackness into our lungs. Gunther's fur is sticky, greasy, and my hair is also greasy and lank. I usually wash it just once a week, but I can't wait that long with all this muck in the air. I feel so sad for those who lost their homes and/or sustained smoke damage, which is awful. It's in every crevice in my house. I may have to call in a cleaning service if I hope to get it cleaned up in this decade.

When you arise in the morning,

give thanks for the morning light, for your life and strength.

Give thanks for your food and the joy of living.

If you see no reason for giving thanks, the fault lies in yourself.

Good morning Team! Boy, is it cold and windy today. I think tomorrow will warm up again...in the 30s lol
KATHIE, so happy to hear your good news! Has it been less than 2 years that you moved south? What a positive change for you. I thought of you when I heard Asheville was getting snow. A friend (lives in SC) celebrated her birthday on 12/11 by spending two days there with her husband. Went to the Biltmore and stayed at the Grove Park Inn. Wishing you and Bob every happiness. You deserve it. Sorry to hear the furries have medical issues.
LORI, good luck to DD with her tests. Glad to hear you have Christmas Eve. Even gladder to hear DD1 was pleasant.
LYNN, good to hear from you. I used to stress about getting cards out. Not any more. As long as they arrive during "the season", all's good. I think I'm a bit too 'relaxed" this year. Tree is still in the box, no goodies made and cards not made either. I guess weight loss is not the only area in which I lack motivation.
BERYL, do you think that because cooking in the InstaPot is so quick, a heavier hand with seasonings is needed? yay for the massage. boo for the torture instructor. Glad the amazon box came. I ended up ordering ladyfingers from amazon (how odd does that sound?). Can't find them anywhere local.
NICKY, glad the fire is mostly contained. What a mess to clean up. I can't imagine the devastation. My grandfather (German) had a bakery here. (He emigrated when he was about 18) I can remember him making stollens. And hot cross buns and fastnachts during lent. My father would decorate the wedding cakes. And the size of the mixers! Found some recipes from the bakery...10 lbs of flour, lbs of butter, etc.
KELLIE, good idea for the DOR and fluids. The concert should be wonderful. Saw pics you posted from Chanticleer gardens. That place is on my list of gardens I would like to see. Feel better, you and Tom. Congrats on the loss.
DR SUE, did you get much snow yesterday? Hope Earl is ok and Q has recovered.

WW question: Will I get all the materials at the first meeting? I have no desire to continue going, but I'd like the written materials.

DGS update : He's doing fine and doesn't seem to be having pain, once the ortho placed his foot in a neutral position and the cast put on. DD1 posted a video of him in a store using one of those electric carts. pretty funny. They have a lot a stairs and after hopping up them once, he declared it was like doing a marathon. She told him the best way is sliding down on his butt.

POLITICAL: I'm really surprised at the AL outcome. What pleases me is that it went against what Steve Bannon wanted and expected. I have to say, that imo he is just a horrible man.

Thinking I should really get busy with some holiday chore. Not feeling great today. headache (blaming that on the weather) and all my joints ache (blaming that on the cold). Thinking I need "electric clothes" not just an electric blanket lol

Wishing all a great day.

Peg

Hi Ladies, Itís so cold here! I am in my office with the heater on! Get through my to-do list.
Nicky, All these traditions. I like the idea of opening presents on Christmas Eve. We do a dinner that night with Tomís family. Tom is a good patient at home. He just loves his job, so staying home is hard.

Kathie, Congratulations on the big day next week Ė pls. post some pictures on Facebook. Sounds like a good and fun busy too with the homes.

Lynn, send the cards when you have time. I like getting more after Christmas and one time a friend had on the card Happy New Year!

Beryl, you are amazing with muscle pump Ė I would hate feeling tortured! I am ok, just plan a nap later. I have been spraying my throat and drinking fluids.

Corinne, Love that the puppies are lap dogs too! My MIL has a bench she uses as a seat that the dogs sit next to here.

Yes, with the politics Ė a win for sure. I am about as liberal as they come, but hate seeing all people so divided and angry no matter their POV. I had to stop watching it all! It was making me stressed out.

I took a DOR yesterday to I could fight this bug (i'm not sick, but just the throat hurting), then had some excess energy making me restless last night! I will nap later. I will do some weights today and some walking DVDS. I will get out at Bed bath and beyond to pick up coffee, steps and to get out.

Have a wonderful day

Happy Hanukkah

Hello Ladies,

Good to hear from Kathie and Lynn. Congratulations Kathie on your wedding! I'm so happy you've found love again! What a great day to get married.

Lynn, I'm pretty relaxed about the holidays too. DS likes to put up the tree and decorate so I gladly let him. I'll do my treats this weekend to get that behind me. Although since I've been doing Freestyle; my sugar cravings are very limited now. I think I'm finally getting enough protein. I'm more apt to grab a hard-boiled egg as a snack than a piece of fruit.

Beryl and Lori, I forgot to wish you a happy Hanukkah yesterday! I remembered when I saw my dermatologist yesterday and she was telling me she's not going to make the latkes this year. She said they only taste good when fresh and she was going to be happy just lighting the candles.

Puppies are on my lap while I type this. Good thing they're so small. I wanted lap dogs!

Nicky, my kids haven't arrived yet. Tomorrow I go to Denver to get DS and Saturday DD arrives.

Lori, I'm so glad you're getting Christmas Eve. I've always had that holiday and it's great not having to leave our house. Especially now with two little girls. Hope DD1 behaves and DS as well. I agree with you; why can't she be nice all the time?

I have my appointment with the bone specialist this morning. Interested to hear what his recommendations are going to be.

POLITICAL RANT

I can't believe Alabama elected Jones! It's truly a miracle for a deep red state to go for the Democrat. I hope the wave continues. We have to take our country back.

Have a good day team!

Corinne

Good Wednesday team. It is SO COLD OUT. Single digits today. IT's the wind that gets me. The good thing is it makes my cold house feel warm! lol
POLITICAL RANT
SO HAPPY Jones won!! Even DH got into it last night. I'm discouraged by the split in votes. We still have a lot of work to do.
End rant.
Today is work, run to the gym, make dinner, then my monthly massage. Dinner last night was bleh, which I find, except for shredded salsa chicken, is the results from my instapot. I don't think I'm doing it right yet.
Hope everyone is well.
Have a wonderful day ladies

Good evening team. Did a bit of cardio then the killer muscle pump with the instructor who spends a week thinking up new ways to torture us. lol
Hi Lynn!! Glad to see you back. Relaxed is good!
Kathie--MAZEL TOV!! I'm so excited for you two. I hope you two have health and happiness and love for the rest of your days together.
DrSue, how are you?
Peg, that's a beautiful menorah, thank you! Bob and I lit candles tonight. Good with that. My amazon box came in with the kids stuff. We'll go over there one night to give gifts. How is DGS's pain?
Kellie, take care of yourself. You don't need a cold now. Glad Tom is feeling better.
Lori, is DD 2 OK? She's young to have those tests. I'm glad DD1 is being kind to you and having Xmas Eve together. Will your son come down at all?
And yes, I'm so sorry I never answered, their Rome trip was their honeymoon. That seems to be a "thing" now--waiting for the honeymoon.
Can't wait to try my dinner. Did have to put it in for 2 more minutes because I didn't put the rice in correctly, which would have been on the bottom with the broth, so it was raw when it was done.
Have a great night team!

Hi Ladies ... am doing this at work so have to be quick.

Success at last! Liking this new plan because as someone said, you can still put together a meal using 0 or only a few points. Just under 5# off so far.

Kathie, congratulations on the Wedding Date!! What a great gift you're giving each other.

Don't know where my head is at this Christmas . . . I'm just so relaxed and laid-back about it all ... or, am I just in "denial" and panic will hit on the 23rd or 24th??
Forgot to do my cards on the weekend and left home without them ... hate to have to buy more but leaving them until next Monday to mail is a bit "iffy".

Patients are coming back so,

Later,
Lynn

Hi Team,

Thought I'd try to get caught up but its going to take a while. Guess I will just jump back in. I may be posting erratically for a while. Seems like I'm just really busy. We go to Bob's house a couple days a week to work on getting it in shape. We have hired a team for the heavy lifting but we need to triage ourselves. And make decisions about paint & flooring plus make arrangements with the antique guy and the rare book guy, etc. And that to the gym, animal vet appointments, some attempt at art and time runs out.

Sammi is still having skin issues. We are going through a series of shots in an attempt to build up her resistance to her many allergens. So far its not helping. And she's losing weight. Her vet was not in today when we went for her shot but the tech (who is wonderful) will take it up with him tomorrow. Annie has a persistent cough and we are trying yet another antibiotic. Other than the cough she's fine and enjoying the recent snowfall. George Gershwin is fine, thank goodness, and happy here.

Speaking of happy, I'm happy to announce we are getting married on Christmas afternoon. At my church after all the services are over. My brother & sister-in-law are driving down from Michigan to spend Christmas weekend with us. We will all visit the BIltmore on Christmas Eve to see the mansion decorated for the holidays.

This Friday we are hosting a neighborhood open house. I'm relying on old-faithful appetizer recipes with a little help from Trader Joe.

Speaking of Holiday-- Happy Hanukkah Beryl & Lori. Enjoy your families.

Hi to Nicky, Peg, Kellie, DrSue, Corrine & Lynn.

PEG! The dreaded in-the-ambulance phone call! So sorry. Wishing a speedy recovery (to mom!).
My DD broke her hand by putting her own fist through a wall. She was unable to play any sports, including tennis, of course. I was mostly mad rather than fearful when I got the call.

LORI, Microlactin is a concentrated milk protein, so I never used it myself. It is supposed to work synergistically with glucosamine and chondroitin. Whatever works. I use glucosamine and hyaluronic acid, boswellia (frankincense), and curcumin.

CORINNE, I envy you your Christmas plans. I'm super disappointed that my DD won't be coming home, but, hey, I've had 36 years of her company, so I can miss this holiday.
Where does your mom live? My SM lives about 19 miles away on the busiest freeway in the nation.

KELLIE, men and illness. I hope he's a good patient.

BERYL, your dinner in the Instapot sounds alot like my no-stuffed cabbage. I use V-8 for the liquid.
Should I ask for an Instapot for Christmas?

The fire nearest to us is 85% contained. Because we live on the flats with no real brush surrounding us, didn't think we'd need to evacuate; however, I have emergency supplies and a backpack packed with essentials in case we had to leave in an earthquake.

Our cars in the garage are covered in soot and ash. All the plants are covered. Gunther is a filthy, oily mess from rolling in grass on our walk and going under the plants on our property.
It will take several more weeks to get over the stuffy head, though. The air is very dry, as well.
This, too, will pass. We will be fine; those people who lost their homes and animals may never fully recover.

LORI, I, too, love Christmas Eve. As Europeans, we also opened our presents on that night. That was our big meal. Married to an All-American, his entire family celebrated on Christmas morning. Period.
Even though my father has passed about ten years ago, I make a Christmas Eve dinner with Hungarian sausages and stollen for dessert. Won't buy stollen any more. It is not longer made with butter. Even the Germans use palm oil or some other nasty cheap oil. The one I bought last year was terrible and dry.

Happy Hanukkah!

Beryl, Let me take a picture of those DVDs I have for the exercise and I will post it. My DH is hard to buy for...we exchange cards. He loves the show MASH and I might get him a couple fun things.

Peg, I am sorry about DGS. I am glad you have a good group working on him. He will heal fast being a kid too. Poor little guy...he seems very active and healthy from what I gather.

Dr. Sue, Earl Gray is a wonderful name! Love it. Yes, I am feeling much better now - I am glad for a break after 21 years, so the next 20 will be really be fulfilling and I will be recharged.

Corinne, I love how you make the holidays easy with the family. So will you take the puppies? The first holiday with the puppies. They will be in heaven with your family.

--

Hi Team, a late start to my to-dos. Tom is doing better. I have been fighting this cold. My throat hurts and I am flush. I just took a nap and some meds. I am ok otherwise No congestion. I had a couple errands - 401K officially moved over and working on some career stuff, My cousin is in the Philly Orchestra and has invited Tom and I Thurs night to see her. I am excited. She's amazing.

The WW meeting was good today. I lost 1.6 - HOLY smokes. 5 to 7 away from goal... fingers crossed. That little weight I feel - my clothes fit better, I can move with less effort, feel more energized and the brick feeling i felt mentally is gone! The meeting was about planning our holiday strategy. Lisa our leader really wants some brittle, lol...ok She then told us about her chatty Thursday meeting where one guy brings dounuts in the summer... she emailed WW to see what the protocol... she said she used it as a teachable moment as to how many points and what people can have.

I digress... my coworking cats are looking out the window and mango just pawed me. He wants me to follow him - bet he's out of food... to be continued tomorrow. LOL

Have a good evening.

Hello Dear Team,

It is sunny and cold outside. We must have dropped below freezing, while I was gone. I did a whole lot of trimming on my bougainvilleas, I may end up pruning them back for easier covering at night. I ordered some white x-mas lights to wrap around my plants to keep some warmth in while covered. My, coveted , white crowned sparrows are back, Thur song is so beautiful. I think that they are nesting under my bougainvilleas. I see some wrens today too.

Yes my car is done. It is missing part of a hubcap but that is in process of being replaced. The party was very nice. DD1 was, extremely, nice to me and her sister. Why canít she be this way every day? Sheís giving me X-Mas eve, which is my favorite time, but it was like pulling teeth to get this. We grew up as Jews but not Jewish. My Mom married a catholic and he wanted a X-Mas tree but X-mas morning was not a thing, X-mas Eve was. Any memory/tradition of my Mom is one I like to keep. We did, however, celebrate Chanukah. Thank you Peg, I love your graphic of the Menorah, I may just use it.

Dr. Sue, I hate when our posts poof. Sometimes I copy and paste in into notes, so if it poofs I still have it. Iím so happy that Q loves playing in the snow. Iím kind of nervous, tho, about Starbucksís brother.

Peg, Iím so sorry about DGS, but very happy that he saw the best Ortho guy. Your x-mas dinner sounds yummy.

Corrine, a full nest is slowly happening. How did DS and the girls get along? How is your DH doing?

Beryl, you are so funny, gifts only to you. My husband loves getting gifts. I love getting gift cards to my favorite, garden related stores. You still havenít told us if the kidsí trip was a late honeymoon, did they have a great time?

Kellie, Iím so relieved that you took your DH to the minute clinic. Iíve never been there. I think he should have a second listen in a few days, to his lungs. My DD2, when she was 11, got pneumonia, when I first took her in, her lungs were clear, but then she spiked a high fever, we went to the ER and she was diagnosed. This was one GREAT LOVING memory of my son. I called him and he drove over 50 miles to help me get her to the ER. He carried his little sister and was a great big brother all the way. So, Iím just hoping that TOM does not get it.

Nicky, how are you doing? Are the fires burned out? I cannot believe they got all the way to the beach.

Dd2 is coming to stay overnight, tomorrow she will have a colonoscopy and an endoscopy. Iím hoping everything will go fine and they will find nothing that canít be fixed.

~hugs to my Team, Lori

Mid day check in.
Peg, be careful out there. Glad to hear DGS has an answer, at least, but sorry it wasn't the better of the 2 choices.
I'm liking the new WW program. More choices, and when you make a choice that uses up all your points, you can still eat a decent meal without relying on celery sticks! lol
Nail appointment, then muscle pump, then home. Making a cabbage, ground beef, and rice thing in the instapot.
Need to think of what to do for DH for Hanukkah. I'd just as soon we not give each other gifts. Except he can get me something! lol
Have a good day ladies

Good morning Team! Not so much snow, but the roads are slippery and the salting truck just came through.
DD1 and DGS are back home from the ortho appt. Definitely broken. He's in a cast, no weight bearing and 4 - 6 weeks. Apparently the local ER did not do such a good job in the placement of it. It's now correctly set and because it's immobile, there's not much pain. This ortho group is great. Did my shoulder surgery 17 years ago and has done several things for Wuzband. Needless to say, DGS is very disappointed to be missing basketball. Thanks for the well wishes.
BERYL, yes, watch WD. I have a question for you. (and it didn't need to be 90 minutes long except for all of the commercials that were shown) Hope Ari is feeling better.
KELLIE, hoping Tom recovers quickly now that he is on meds.
CORINNE, I'm a shrimp lover, too! (of course) Your holiday get togethers sound great. I'll do a simple Christmas dinner. Thinking I'll make a chocolate mousse cake that was always a family favorite. I need ladyfingers for it and am having difficulty finding them. yay for a full house! Will be fun to see the kids reaction to the little girls. How's DH's foot.
DR SUE, sounds like a plan for the day. Q is like all those "weekend warriors" who pay the price after the family touch football game. Hope he feels better.
NICKY and LORI, thinking about you and the terrible devastation happening out there.

Wishing all a good day. For my teamies who will celebrate this evening

Arg! I just typed a long post to you all! It Poofed! I think my IPad is starting to go.

Nicky and Lori stay safe from these fires. Nicky, do you have an emergency plan?

Peg, I hope DGS is ok. A fracture might be better than tendon or ligament damage.

Corrine, I love the new babies! Enjoy!

Beryl, enjoy your Jojo time. Disney on ice, how nice.

Kellie, you sound so relaxed. I,love it!

Kathie, and Lynn, I hope you are well.

We had 4 inches of snow, it fell Sat into Sunday. DH was away. It was a perfect snow day. Took Q up to play in the snow. He was sore the next day. I will look into that supplement. I'm not familiar with it. Fredo is becoming a total lap kitty, and I love it! I have no surgeries scheduled today. I will bask a bit late today, do a long spin, and head in to work. I need to do and echocardiogram on my hospital kitty Earl Grey. He was my Starbuck's brother.

Ok ladies, sorry to be so brief, but it didn't poof this time!

Good Tuesday all!
Corinne, I too love shrimp more than anything else! Your meal sounds lovely and in just a few more days all the kidlets will be under one roof!
Peg, is DGS home with a follow up visit today? We see that a lot at this age too. They'll probably put a boot on him with crutches, tell him no weight bearing, and bring him back for a follow up XRay to see if there's a break. Is that the plans?
DD is all over me to watch WD! I did hear rumors....

Peg, I'm so sorry to hear about DGS! I hope the radiologist is right and it's not a fracture. I imagine either way; he's in a lot of pain.

Kellie, glad Tom finally saw a doctor and is on medication. Hope he makes a quick recovery.

Beryl, your Jo is so adorable. She always has a smile. I bet she just loves her Mondays with Sasha.

Lori, did you finally get your car back?

I'll be going to Denver Thursday to pick up DS and DH will be on puppy duty. DD flies in to Springs on Saturday evening. Can't wait to see their reaction when they meet their new "sisters."

Beryl, Christmas Eve is at my house every year and Christmas Day at my mother's but we all bring something. She makes the turkey and we bring all the sides and desserts. I make my meal very easy; lots of appetizers and always shrimp. DN loves shrimp more than anything and he's already asked me if we're having it. Dessert will be pumpkin cheesecake for my niece and DD who love it. I'll also have some other desserts I stash from my baking like cashew bark and Baklava.

Have a good day and I hope Peg's DGS gets good news.

Corinne

Conflicting views between ER doc and radiologist. ER says fracture, radiologist says no. They have an appt. with ortho tomorrow morning.

Oh Team, just got a call from DD1. She and DGS are in an ambulance on the way to the hospital. At the beginning of the basketball scrimmage another player landed on DGS's ankle and they are pretty sure it is broken. Made it through football unscathed, but the first scrimmage of basketball season and he may be done.

Nicky or someone else with knowledge of this.
My brother just told me about Microlactin, which he gives to his animals with joint issues. He takes it himself and has noticed a big difference. I ordered it from amazon too. Any opinions??

Kellie, so glad you took him and his lungs are clear. WHEW. I feel better and glad he is too. Which DVD did you use?
Cleaning up from the sub on Friday. Love when I write detailed notes and they don't look....
Gym then whole foods today. Don't know what I would do without my big on-desk calendar. Found out I have my monthly massage on Wednesday. I had no clue!

Good Morning Team, getting the day started. Lots to do this week. Tom is starting to feel better. Belle is up patrolling with me. Yesterday was a walking DVD with 60 minutes of active minutes. I think I will do another today and go to Target at lunch to get steps. Have a wonderful day! Kellie

Hi ladies, I took Tom to the Minute Clinic and the NP was pretty good. We got an antibiotic and a couple other meds. They think itís viral with a touch of bronchitis. Tom is a wonderful person that does not sit still, he canít not go to work, he is always going, do the trash, moving, spends his Saturday mornings in the summer helping our neighborÖetc.! I told him we are going (like it or not Ė I bribed him with fries from McDonalds - lol ) to the minute clinic today and I might steal his keys so he stays home. He was pretty tired. I just donít want to see him sick for the holidaysÖI have been watching on him, made lunch, etc.
Iíve been napping, sleeping and taking my vitaminsÖ I feel like I am hingingÖ

Peg, I will have to catch that movie. I wanted to watch Elf Ė itís a silly movie, but makes me laugh.

Corinne, I love that they are such great friends. Thatís what weíve found with my kitties having a friend. Belle and Cricket love Mango... they really look after him. It's so sweet and when their bowls are empty, Mango paws me to fill their bowls!! I canít wait for all the family to be home with you.

Lori, a messy time would describe it! I might be done with them Ė lol. I have a handful for my friend, thatís good enough and when I want to bake, I will make these ornaments Ė hopefully emoticon Happy Birthday Jack.

Beryl, Jo is so cute! Disney on Ice will be amazing. Awesome. Love all the thoughtful gifts. I will keep an eye on it for Pneumonia Ė they said his chest sounded clear and no wheezing. All of your input is so appreciated.

We had some snow that was pretty easy to shovel here and yay a neighborhood boy knocked at my parent's door and wants to shovel cheaply Ė I was looking for someone. I love it when my prayers are answered. They have a tiny home and our lawn person wanted to charge $65 or $100 depending on the size of the storm. This teenager charged $16 and did a good job!

Zero point chili in crock potÖ will workout

Happy Sunday team! FREEZING TODAY!! Did have some melting. Around here we got a few inches. Further downstate where my mother is got more, I think.
Lori, glad you're home. 12 years old! How did that happen? Have a wonderful time tonight.
Peg, I will not watch tonight cause it's going over the hour. I'll watch it later this week. I can't wait!! You KNOW I love me some Negan!!
Corinne, I love that DD facetimes with the girls!! Soon the nest will be very full! Do you do Christmas or do you go elsewhere?
DrSue, you guys OK?
Hi Kellie! How does Tom feel? Unfortunately I'm thinking more of pneumonia. Please have him see someone and get a chest X-ray, not just antibiotics
Hi Nicky! Please stay safe.
Did an elliptical workout at the gym since it was too cold outside to walk. Then picked Jo up and we went to Home Depot for a menorah workshop. Lots of fun. We walked up and down looking for the "beep beeps" which we found. lol. Then to Trader Joes for a couple of things I forgot then to Berry Yummy for frozen yogurt, then home. I'm exhausted. lol
Got the kids stuff last night on Amazon. Jo will stay over night with us Friday for the first time. She keeps asking when she can. Got her a suitcase to stay overnight at Shasha's house. Got her a leapfrog electronic thingy too, plus the tickets she doesn't know about to Disney on Ice. Ari got some trucks and books about trucks. Done.
Got 0 point vegan chili in the crockpot. All beans and corn and tomatoes. YUM! Starving since I missed lunch. I heated up some of my vegetable soup and then didn't have time to eat it. Jo did in the car. LOL. When I got back it was too late to eat my salad. I'll survive.
Have a good evening ladies

Hello Dear Team,

I am finally home. My car, which was never completed, paint with the permaplate protection, correctly, that is why I had to go back to where I purchased it and they had to finally do it right. I was, always, in wonderfully loving company, but there is no place like home.

Peg, Iím sorry that your Mom didnít recognize you, that would hurt terribly. My Gramma got that way and she was my North. I had 2 people that loved me unconditionally, my brother and my Nani. It took her 30 years to even like me, seriously, but when she did it was so appreciated. Oh that concert sounded Devine. That Church must be gorgeous. My silís Episcopal Church is over a 100 years and so pretty. So, Ruby doesnít sleep with you, somehow I always thought she did. You are back to feeding the deer that survived hunting season.

Kellie, I, agree, Tom should see a doctor, or doctor on call, maybe he needs antibiotics. I tried to make a birdseed thing with my granddaughter, we used peanut butter and seed. The birds didnít touch it, but we had a messy fun time.

Beryl, I would be like your Mom. I wouldíve claustrophobic being snowed in. Last night I made a beef and vegetable soup. So, very yummy.

Corrine, Iím sure that your girls bring you so much joy. My brother and sil have a year old cocker spaniel, she is adorable and very loving. Yay, your nest will soon be filled.

Today, Jack turns 12. We will attend a family party tonight. Itís hard to believe itís been 12 years of a filled to capacity heart. We do adore him, so.

~hugs, Lori

BERYL, WD mid season finale tonight. Thinking it will be action packed. Last week's TD mentioned some shocker...What an odd time of year...I'm sandwiching the zombie apocalypse in between sappy holiday movies...lol
Watched The Santa Clause last night. Love that movie!

Happy Sunday Team!
Snow clean-up was pretty easy. Didn't get much accumulation. maybe because because it was warmer so it took a while for it to stick. Bright and sunny today with all that sunlight reflecting off the snow.
CORINNE, glad the crate training (and training in general) is going well. Ruby is the first dog that I've crate trained and it is a wonderful thing. At this point I just have to say "bed time" and in she goes. I love how you are happily anticipating your "full house".
KELLIE, Tom still isn't feeling better? A friend also started with a cold which then turned into bronchitis. Yesterday was a good day for cards.
BERYL, how much snow did you get? One report had parts of DE with 8".

Hope the rest of my team is well.
Wishing all a great day!

Happy Sunday!

Nicky and Lori, I hope you're not in any danger with the fires and smoke! I pray the fires are over soon but it seems to be a constant problem and worry.

Lori, what was wrong with your new car that they had to paint again?

Kellie, sorry Tom is still sick. Is it more than a cold? My friend thought she had a cold too but it turned out to be bronchitis and she had to get on antibiotics. Yes, Belle is a good name for a pet!

Peg, I'm sorry your mother didn't recognize you! That has to be so painful for you. I'm glad the concert was enjoyable. I agree with Kellie; you must take care of yourself!

Beryl, how do you like the new changes to WW? It's so much like you eat already that I think you'll transition easily.

The puppies are so much fun! I'm overloaded with cuteness here! They're doing pretty well on potty training. Just have to take them out very frequently. I'm so happy I decided to crate train them. They sleep together so never that whimpering of a puppy who's alone for the first time. I keep the gate open until nighttime and they don't make a sound. Even after getting up with them I'll bring them back and put them in their crate, close the door and they are quiet as long as they're together. Two is so much easier than one!

DD Facetimes a lot so she can see them. She's already in love and she hasn't even met them. DS is thinking of middle names for them. Lol.

Looking forward to this week even though I have a heavy schedule tomorrow. DS comes home on Thursday and DD on Saturday. My heart will be full.

Have a restful Sunday ladies!

Corinne

Hi ladies, I'm chilling with the cats watching the snow fall. Tom and I did cards earlier and lunch in. All the cats are here sleeping while we read. See that house I posted on Facebook... it was OCD like I've never seen - lol

Hi Peg, I'm sorry about your mom. We have another friend where the same happened recently. I bet that's hard on your motivation to exercise too. I was there this year with work. I just did my best and took my time for self care. Getting out is perfect too. The concert sounded so nice. I'll keep my fingers crossed for you... the parent care is exhausting on all levels

Hi Beryl, yes I was telling/warning the group about portions at a the ww meeting. If you eat zero foods all day and your points on processed stuff, I think one would gain. I have been making sure I get my healthy oils too. We had plans, but Tom is sick so we are saying in. great work planning ahead.

Got a new Leslie sansone DVD with hits I'll do later. Made a few more bird seed ornaments to give away....

Have a great day...

Good Saturday morning team. SNOWING hard!! Not sticking so much to the roads, but on the ground, definitely. My mother was upset her boots were in the shed, along with the shovel, broom, and the de icer. Her neighbor shoveled her porch. I told her there is no reason for her to need any of that. No where she needs to be running, but she despises being shut in. Yet another reason assisted living would help.....
Peg, I'm so sorry about the visit with your mother. That must be so hard for you. I'm glad you enjoyed the concert. Sounded wonderful!
Was MIA yesterday due to the inservice, then DS and DDIL came home and stopped in, didn't leave till 9, and I was beat!!
Down 2.2 at WI today. Boy if that's what a GI bug will do.....LOL Got the new program. Looks good. My leader said when she tracked, she lost. When she didn't......well, we know how that goes!
Step today was a killer. She decided to do some new moves and steps, and I was all over the place!! I was a mess. But sweated and burned a lot, and thank goodness wasn't graded on it!
Lori, hope the car is done and glad you're having a good time. Be safe.
Nicky, you too!!
Corinne, how are the little muffins??
Kellie, any weekend plans?
DrSue, are you working this weekend? DB is having his staff party tonight at his house.
Off for my nap. Got my vegetable soup on the stove and my vegetables for the week roasting. Got stuff to make chili tomorrow. Usually chili is very pointy because of the beans. No more!!! YAY
Have a good day ladies.

Good Saturday morning team! Lightly snowing. (What happened to the "after noon" start time?) Bird feeders and suet holders are filled and I put nuts out for the furry critters.

The concert last night was wonderful! I love the seasonal music. There were a couple of beautiful Chanukah songs......"Chanukah Prayer for Children" and "The Chanukah Song, We Are Lights". The concert is held in the Old Dutch Church (The Old Dutch Church, officially known as the First Reformed Protestant Dutch Church of Kingston, formally organized in 1659, it is one of the oldest continuously existing congregations in the country. Its current building, the fifth, is an 1852 structure) and it is a beautiful place to sit, listen and reflect. the high school choir didn't disappoint and I think this was one of the best performances by the male choral group. After the concert, I went to the diner with my friend. Didn't get home until after 11.

Wishing all a great day.

Good evening Team!
Went to class and stopped at the store on the way home. Craziness! The first snow forecast has made everyone panic. Same at the wine store, lol. First pretreating of the roads. Our forecast is "dusting to 3" or "3 - 6" depending on which forecast you listen to. GA is getting snow as did San Antonio TX! Sounds like KATHIE'S area is due for some, too.
LORI, how nice that you have enjoyed your time up north. Hope your car is done soon.
NICKY, I can't believe the reports on the fire. Unbelievable! Almost 200,000 warned to evacuate. Thinking of you and everyone else affected by them. (No, I haven't opened the video yet)
KELLIE, motivation seems to be my biggest problem. Been doing ok food wise, so it's a start. Love that you're making gifts for the birds.

Saw mom yesterday and it was the first time she wasn't sure who I was. Asked me if I was Ruth (her sister). So, that's how it's going. Took some Christmas decorations out and hung them in her room. Those that hang on the wall are less likely to "walk away" so some of her other things I left at my house. NSV...no candy, ice cream or wine after the visit. I have to admit that I did have two small pb sandwiches. I'll take that as an improvement.

Tonight is the winter concert for the local male choral group. The high school choir performs with them. Honestly, I really go to hear the HS choir, but I won't tell that to my friend who's in the choral group. Will head out in a little while.

A big hello to all and wishing you a great evening.

Hi Team, lots to do here and I have the pets by my side. They are asleep. Tom has a bad head cold, but seems better today. He wonít listen to me to stay homeÖug.

Peg, I got rid of my gym membership too several years ago. I was using the same machines, so I made a little workout area in my homeÖ it was hard in the beginning to stay motivated to not use forget about it since itís in my home. The meetings are not for everyone Ė agreed.

For me, if I have a good leader, I do much better on the program. Thereís a lot of free workouts like Nicky was saying on youtube. The fitbit keeps me hitting my goals too.

Corinne, Belle is my kitties name! A good pick!

Nicky, thatís great advice about moving. Thanks for all your recommendations. Iím amazed at how all that is traveling and glad you are staying in.

Yesterday was a walking DVD Ė I will do some abs, arm work today to give my knees a rest.
I have been trying to make bird seed ornaments to give as gifts to some who I know are on diets where the brittle wonít do. I made several, thatís a process with the gelatin. I am enjoying using the cutters for something other than cookies! I am just doing the basics (no different types of cookies I am making) this year since I donít have the temptations of the office Ė a good thing for the time being.

Have a great Friday Öhello to all that stop byÖ

Hello Dear Team,

Iím still up North, my Dad and I have been in Sacramento, adjacent, for 3 days, with my Brother and sis in law. Iíve eaten so many naughty things that I am ashamed. Yet, Iíve really enjoyed myself. My car should be ready tomorrow, but no ETA, yet. My Dad and I will drive back to his house tomorrow and hopefully pick up my car on the way.

Oh man, the fires are bad, but up here, I never even knew. I spoke to my friends, where I lived at a year ago and they say with the cold, wind and fire itís really bad. Nicky, you are so close to the Getty Center/405. I can only imagine, how bad traffic was. Great job on the curtains.

Peg, Iím glad that you are feeling better and so sorry that you were so sick. I donít have anything Xmas or Chanukah up in our home, either. So, we are tied.

Beryl, you never answered us on your kidsí late honeymoon. Iím glad that youíll have a break from teaching. How much time do you get off from working, for the holidays?

Corrine Iím so happy that you are enjoying your new little girls, and little is an understatement.

Kellie, I hope that you donít get Tomís cold and that he feels better soon.

Lynn, thanks for checking in, and for all of the points, etc.

Dr. Sue, Iím glad that you and the boys are good. I know, it kind of stinks, that we have to wait for January to see This Is Us again.

I feel like a gypsie, a very loved gypsie, going from home to home while my car is painted. I hope to be home on Saturday.

~hugs to my Team, Lori

PS Iím shopping for solar, a big ordeal, but necessary in the town I know live in, yikes

One of the fires, the one that closed down the 405 Freeway (busiest in all of the nation), was less than a mile from my house; HOWEVER, we live on the flats, not in the hills. Had to stay inside for two days because of the smoke and ash. Yesterday was hard to breathe outside at all. I stayed home to make sure no embers would reach us.

DH needed to travel to downtown yesterday, but because the freeway was closed, he took surface streets, as did everyone else! What is usually 20 minutes to downtown took him 2 hours to get home.

The winds have shifted, and the fire has moved east to the Bel Air area. We'll be fine, but, boy, the people about 60 miles north of Los Angeles in the Ventura area are in a real bad way. The fires have jumped the highway and are burning on the ocean side now, too. Many homes have been lost.
At least the shelters are accepting people with their pets! Bless the Salvation Army and Red Cross.

CORINNE, your babies are FABULOUS!!!

PEG, I make sure I do SOMETHING by way of movement every day. You are outside and working inside, so that counts for "movement," too. I can make my own hours most of the time, so it's really easy to slide, but I make myself do at least a few push ups, and squats or lunges, if nothing else. Did you ever crack open the Mark Lauren "You Are Your Own Gym"?

Okay. I LOVE this 4-minute, 3X/day HIIT by Dr. Mercola on YouTube.
Check out: Dr. Mercola's Nitric Oxide Release Workout
I promise, it's pretty easy to start, and it leaves me feeling like I really accomplished something. I fit the 4-minutes in any time, anywhere. It's kinda energizing.

Thanks so much, Peg! I wish I knew how to submit pictures on this page.

The lighter one is Belle and the bigger one is Jasmine.

Yes, Peg, that soup as you described would be zero points. You could even add beans to it and still zero.

Good morning team from chilly NY.
CORINNE, I am so looking forward to the pics of the princesses. Glad the new WW program is working out. A full house! even more so with the girls.
DR SUE, the new program intrigues me, too. I'd probably do it online because I just don't care for the meetings. There was a great leader here, but the meetings were a chore for me. Just not a group person I guess. But I would like to get the materials. So Q, too, is in the use it or lose it population. Hope he's well and Fredo, too. (Did I remember that correctly? Doesn't seem quite right)
BERYL, enjoy the last class! I'm afraid that pretty soon ethics in everything will be extinct.

For those of you who do the new WW, I could make a chicken veggie soup (broth based, breast meat) and it would be zero points?

Thinking of NICKY and LORI and the fires. The pics and reports I've seen are terrible.
Hi KELLIE!

Have decided to put my gym membership on hold...too much money and I'm not getting the most out of it. If I were disciplined like NICKY, I'd do the various dvds that I have. Just need to get my head in the right place. To do cardio during the winter I can do a PF membership for $10./month and use their elliptical. Oh well, that's my plan. Will look into online WW.

Off to acupuncture (thinking I'll be stopping that soon too).
Wishing all a great day!

Good Morning Ladies, Lots of posts!
Beryl, you are an amazing teacher. I am glad you will have a break. The puppies are a lot of work for sure and need supervision too. My cricket gets into so much and heís a cat Ė lol
Corinne, I am looking forward to getting at goal hopefully so the App will be free. I use Itrackbites and like that. Looking forward to seeing the pictures of the puppy on Facebook. You did the right thing by getting two doggies! Thatís how we were Ė not being able to split them up. We have toys all over!
Dr. Sue, Fingers crossed for good weather.
Peg, Tom is still sick, I canít convince him to stay home! Itís a head cold thing. I did send him off with the goodies and brittle for his colleagues, so thatís a NSV for me.
--
Hi Ladies, working on career stuff right now and will have an app. To roll over 401K Ė ug Ė paperworkÖMango is meowing at me Ė he will do this when he wants you to go for a walk in the house. He will take me to his foodbowl (upset if even a small part of the bottom is showing), the drawer where his brush is or the bed to nap! LOL
Did the Leslie Samsone 4 mile walk DVD and that was pretty fast paced. Love her. Have a great day! Kellie

Cold here too. It is nice and sunny today. Glad I didn't miss "this is us", but bummed it wasn't on. I was Looking forward to it last night.
You guys are really making me rethink this new WW program. I would have to do it on line though. No WW in town, and I usually don't have car. How do you build recipes?

The weather going forward is looking pretty good. I had forgotten my dad has set up a weather underground station for the lake. So I can see thier exact weather forecast.

Corrine, I'm glad you are having so much fun with the babies!

Beryl enjoy your class, and the wine!

Good Thursday morning ladies. COLD this morning! High of 43 today.
Corinne, can't wait to see the girls!! You do make me rethink getting a dog, but then I realize I leave the house at 6:30 and don't get home till 6 most nights. DH is pretty much the same. That's too long and not fair to fur babies. Plus we like to go out all day on Sundays. That would be too long too. So I'll live vicariously through you!
Class tonight is easy. Discussing ethics, which I love to do. I give them numerous scenarios and they get to debate/discuss them. Always fun. Then they will do their aesthetic presentation to the class on their concept, and tell us about it, then we go! YAY!
Tomorrow I'm attending a conference in Dover. Seemed like a good idea at the time. lol
Have a great day ladies. Be well

Hi Ladies!

I cannot tell you how much fun I'm having with these two little girls! Dr. Sue, yes, they are beyond cute. They have the sweetest faces. Together they weigh six pounds so when they come to greet me or find me; my DH calls them the thundering herd! I'm so glad I got two. They comfort each other, play/fight together and enjoy their crate together. I've been bringing them back to their crate after the 3 am potty break and they quiet right down. One puppy would not do that and would need my attention constantly. Even DH says daily it was a good decision to get two sisters. Besides, I couldn't pick one over the other.

I Facetime with DD and DS so they can see them but they're both very anxious to meet them. DS comes home next Thursday and DD that next Saturday. Won't be long before I have a full house again.

I'm so glad all of us watch This is Us. Such a good show and it's nice we can discuss it.

Nicky and Lori, hope you're safe from the fires and smoke. It's already December. Can't believe your poor state still has to worry about fires.

Kellie, great weight loss! I'm really enjoying Freestyle. I boil a dozen eggs every week and keep them as a quick snack or to take with me because I'm not always hungry first thing. And to be able to load up at a salad bar with veggies, chopped eggs, beans, edamame, etc and only count points for the dressing is wonderful. I like tracking on my app and have been getting the blue circle every day so I know I'm eating enough. I get obsessed over calories so this is a healthier way for me to keep track.

Yay for your class being over. I'm sure you are ready for a nice, long break. I'm anxious to see how you like the changes Beryl. You mostly eat like this anyway so I think it's going to be a seamless transition for you. What freaks most people out is the drop in daily points. If you were at 30 you will now be at 23 but because of all the zero point foods, 23 is going to be plenty. WW is really encouraging members to build meals and snacks around the zero point foods. In my opinion, it's a more enjoyable plan.

I will post pictures of the puppies on Facebook whenever I can get them to hold still long enough and hopefully Lori can post them here. I don't know how to do that.

Have a good day!

Corinne

Good evening team. MUCH colder out now! WOW!
DrSue, last week was the mid season finale, so now we have to wait till I think January to find out what happens with everyone. Isn't it wonderful? I'm so glad you watch! And even though it's the "s" word, you do love the skiing, so there is that!
So now I've been hearing about BUGS IN CHRISTMAS TREES!! OMG, you all know that would do me in. WTH?? So if we had a tree I'd have one of those hideous silver ones with no possibility of bugs!! LOL Yikes and Yuck!
Going to shower then eat. Chicken, roasted cabbage, and sweet potatoes. Glass of wine counted. Popcorn later. I"m tracking by hand as I always do but I'm also back to doing it on the WW site. Mine does not show the new program yet but will after Saturday.
Yes, class is over tomorrow night. I'm DONE with them!! Next class has 6 signed up, which is the minimum for a full pay. It's also hybrid, which is all I will teach from now on.
Have a good night friends

Hey team. All is well here. The super moon made it super crazy. Breathing a little calmer now.

Peg, I'm glad you are feeling better. I'm sure you will love the tree. We haven't done one for years. I miss it, except for the mess. Before we left the lake, we brought up mom and dad's tree, slapped it together, plugged it in and voila lights. I think about getting a tree, then Fredo goes flying by, sliding across the floor disrupting rugs. He would be swinging from the Angel and eating the strings of lights. Sorry your last visit with mom was rough.

Corrine! Yay on not one but two new babies! They must be beyond adorable. I bet your kids are looking forward to seeing them. I hope DH continues to improve. The new WW program seems interesting. Keep us informed as you can. I swore of WW after Points Plus was so awful as was the WW community about it. (At least my experience) that was how Lori found some of us and shepherded several of us here.

Thanks Lori yet again! I'm sorry your DD is so self absorbed that she doesn't notice that her actions can be so hurtful. I think it is how it is with many young people. Ultimately it will bite them in the derriŤre. I'm glad you got to enjoy some nice weather in your garden.

Lori are you impacted by the fires? Nicky, I know you are. How close are you? I guess that is a question in flux. What about your "ranch"? I'm glad SM had such a nice birthday. Glad you are keeping Gunther moving. I realized, Q would not want to go to work for part of the day. I was letting it slide. Then I started noticing him more hesitant on stair, mis-stepping more often. Letting him stay home meant he was notwalking as much. Now he is back going with me almost all of the time. DH is in a boot, so there are no Dobie-daddy walks. If I know how important it is for me to keep moving, it is no different for him.

Lynn thank you for posting that. I will look into that more. Maybe it would be good for me to re-up and shake it up. Have the fires up your way ended?

Beryl, are DS and Ddil doing a late honeymoon? I can't believe you class is ending. Didn't it just start? As far as the kids being loco, I can say Supermoon. Your. Thanksgivings sounded awesome. We did so much for the weekend ahead of time, it was brilliant. I hope I remember this. It was also a small group, but still.

The weather tonight is turning to winter. We might have some of them"s" word over the weekend. Then it is supposed to get warmer again. Here and in NY. I have the weekend of the 15-18 off. I am seriously thinking of going back out to camp. Not quite in ski mode yet. I won't mention it to mom and dad until I am sure. That might be on arrival. I'm watching the weather carefully. Peg, if you hear of any funky weather for that time, please let me know. The last time I went in Dec, I got stuck in a horrible snowstorm. It took two hours from Oneonta to Hancock ( twice as long) and almost got in a wreck. If they are not expecting me, they won't be disappointed if I think it can't work.

Ok ladies, you are all awesome! The boys are circling. Have a great night!

Good morning Team!
Feeling better each day except for a lingering headache which I attribute to sinuses and the changing air pressure.
NICKY, you're not late with the decorations! I haven't done one thing inside yet. I agree...each time I do one improvement in the house, everything else looks shabby and leads to some other project. Maybe the lesson is to never do any home improvements? If you have found a way to eat that works for you, why would you change? Keep up your good work! I was wondering if the fires were near you or impacting you. I've heard about quite a few people with this short term stomach thing. Something's going around.....
LYNN, thanks so much for the info. I still don't understand things like brown rice (which is a healthier choice) is higher in pts than white or sweet potatoes vs white. Glad you're back to work and all is good. Don't want to hear that "snow" word, though.
BERYL, it is cooler today and will continue to get colder. We may have a chance at (here's that word again) snow (ughhh) over the weekend.
KELLIE, hope Tom feels better and you can avoid it. Yay for the good weigh-in. I'm down 4 after being sick. I will take that as a start.
Hoping DR SUE, CORINNEand LORI are well.

Wishing all a good day.

Hi Team, the new program is easy to follow in my opinion. I had a good weigh in for once -4.2. What thatís nuts!! I have a barbell thatís heavy 4 lbsÖ I had switched back to the smart points, had been adding the healthy oils, getting all my water and reduced diet coke/artificial sweetenersÖ phew. I have about 8 to go. I got the 6 week charm too. I am excited about the new plan. I have been up and down same all year..same place (I am thankful for that given all the job stress)Ö so glad for progress and some control here

Peg, I hope you are feeling better and thank you for the extra info on nursing careÖsaving. The long-term care policies seem to be a toss up right! I have our financial guy researching mine to make sure we are not wasting our money. I hope they improve the nursing system as itís pretty complicated. Thank god you are her advocate.

Beryl, when you get all the manuals to see, it makes sense. You have 23 Ė basically non-core foods and the core foods are mostly the zero points. You roll over 4 if you need them. Thanks for the note about Toastmasters. It's fun and definitely worth the time.

Nicky, wow, thatís crazy about the winds Ė you have a system that works and thatís great you know your body too Ė why change

Lynn, thanks for the info

Tom has a cold and I feel like I am getting something! Made him tea last night and today. Wish he stayed home. Ug, the kitties are here and I am working on career stuff and getting things done here at home and making some calls.
My plan is 10K and some other cardio Ė maybe elliptical.
Have a great day! Kellie

Good Wednesday morning team. Noticably colder this morning.
Nicky, so scary about the fires. I've seen pictures and they're unbelievable. Stay safe and inside.
Lynn, I WI on Saturday so I'll find out everything then. I have found that getting bits and pieces from folks online, as I have on another WW board on FB, is so hard to follow! They all are putting their own interpretations on the program. I do think it's livable though. I need 7 pounds OFF!!
Peg, hope you're feeling better.
Lori, you OK?
Hi DrSue and Corinne. How are the babies?? Hi Kellie!

PEG, GET BETTER SOON!!! What's up?

I managed to get a bit of weight lifting and body weight exercise in today, but, boy, there are two fires pretty far away; HOWEVER, the Santa Ana winds are pretty fierce. There was smoke and ash in the air to such an extent that my nose and throat sting when inhaling. I'm sneezing, as is the dog.
DH was in downtown Los Angeles today, and he said he could see the layer of smoke in our area when he was coming home.

Finished ironing and putting up all the curtains today. Makes everything else around the new windows look shabby. It never ends.

Tomorrow I will haul out the Christmas decorations, a little late, but, hey, at least it's not Christmas yet!

The new WW program sounds more realistic, but I'm feeling really good limiting processed carbs and taking my blood sugar, as well as using the Heart Rate Variability App. I'm just sick of counting and endlessly monitoring what I put in my mouth. MOST OF THE TIME I eat what I know will contribute to my health.

CORINNE, that is delightful that the new WW plan suits you! Are your babies "talkative"?
Post some pics here, if you would, of those little darlings.

Hi. Am pressed for time so just wanted to share that I've joined Wt Watchers for 1 month at the special price ... I like the new program.

Daily points are just 23 but there are so many free foods it's easy to stay within the limits.
another change is that you do not have use your full 23/points per day but can roll them over to another day (i.e. save up if you have a special event or for the weekend etc). The Weekly Allowance is now 28.

this's what I jotted down:

"0" points foods are now:
Fruits and Vegetables
Beans, peas, lentils, tofu and corn
Skinless chicken white meat
Skinless turkey white meat
Non fat sugar free yogert
Eggs
Fish
All seafood

Here are some food values I looked up:
Store Deli Meatloaf 85gm (3 oz) = 7pts
1 cup oatmeal = 5pts
1 cup white rice = 6
1 cup brown rice = 7
1 cup quinoa = 6
1/2 cup baked beans = 7
1/2 cup potato =2
1/2 cup sweet potato - 3
5oz red or white wine = 4
1 rice cake =1
1 tbsp hummus = 1
1 cup pasta = 5
Dark chicken/Turkey meat 1oz=1pt
Beef steak 3 oz = 5
Lean Beef 1oz =1, or 3oz =4
V8 Vegetable juice 1 cup =2
1 pita bread = 2
1 English Muffin = 4
1 cup low fat cottage cheese = 3
1 tbsp lite Ranch Dressing = 1
1 tbsp Renee's Half-Fat Caesar dressing = 1pt
1 oz cheddar cheese = 4 (eeeek!!)
1 oz lite mozzarella cheese = 2
1 oz Feta cheese = 3
1 oz parmesan = 4
1 bagel = 11
Bread values are essentially the same; regular slice = 2,
Calorie reduced whole wheat bread = 1pt/slice
All other calorie reduced breads are 2 slices = 3pts.

Tim Hortons Fast food menu items
1 Breakfast biscuit (Eng Muffin, egg, cheese and bacon) = 10 (Mcdonald's is the same)
* breakfast sandwich with sausage instead of bacon = 14
Ham & Cheddar bun (large enough for 2 people; they don't have small ones) = 14
Vegetable soup = 2
Homestyle biscuit = 8

Mcdonalds hash browns = 5;
6 McNuggets = 8
4 McNuggets = 5
Latte with skim milk = 3

A&W Mama Burger = 13
Onion Rings = 16

If anyone has anything specific you'd like me to look up for you, I don't mind. I can check in here daily or feel free to connect on messenger (Lynn Wiwchar).

I'm back to work and believe it or not, it actually feels good to get back into my routine.
Met a friend and walked for 1/2 hr this morning on our new ice arena's walking track.
Then went to deep water aerobics for an hr.

We have a bit of snow on the ground to the clinic floor is a mess. Mopped the puddles etc but now have to sweep and vacuum.

Later, Lynn

Good afternoon, Team. Have been sick since Sunday, lightheaded and nauseous. Feeling better but still very tired. Spent the last two days on the couch, getting up only to feed the animals and use the bathroom. Actually showered today hahaha Thinking the silver lining might be this was a jump start for me to get back to losing weight...lol Have to make it a positive.
KELLIE, I also make peanut brittle and have ended up with taffy...too much moisture in the air and one year the resulting taffy was how I discovered my thermometer was no longer working accurately.
CORINNE, glad you're enjoying the puppies! Shoulder may be a little better. GERD seems to depend on how much I eat or should I say, stuff into my mouth.
BERYL, sorry you didn't feel well. I hate feeling sick. You are most welcome to come help me decorate. The decorating isn't so bad; it's putting everything away that sucks.
NICKY, I may start collecting those boxes too.

My input into the "elder care" discussion...Mom can have about $14,000. left in assets and apply for Medicaid to cover her costs. There is a pretty much unknown program for spouses of war vets to help pay for nursing home care. Maybe $1000./month or so. Mom's assets have to be spent down to $85,000. for her to be eligible for that. I think 2018 is going to be the year for pain in the a$$ paperwork. My neighbor and I were discussing long term care insurance...it is very very very expensive and my understanding is that some policies have a maximum time limit that they will pay, 3 years or so.

That new WW plan (from what I've read here) is sounding interesting and I may have to look into it. I just hate having to pay them WW wine? lol They know what their audience wants :-)

Wishing all a good day.

Peg

Kellie, Toastmasters is a wonderful group. I've considered it myself. One of my students turned me onto them. There is one at Wilmington University actually, or others in the area too. Very diverse group.
I think part of the lure of the Fresstyle is you don't always need to reach for fruit for a snack now. It can be a hard boiled egg, which I love!! or another protein source.
Anxious to hear!

Hi Ladies, I will go to the Weight Watchers meeting today and get the scoop on Freestyle.

Corinne, I am thrilled you are doing so well on it. The 7 pound loss is awesome since you had recently said you were holding with some of the doc you've been seeing. I love the puppies. That's awesome and to have them at the holidays too. My pets bring me so much joy. My plan is to do my best with the job hunting.

Beryl, I like the peanut brittle, but don't love it. I got more bags this year - lol - and little boxes, so I have a bunch to put together this year -- need to get them all out. I have to talk to my leader. What happens is you use half your day on zero points and have half left? I can see myself eating too much ...

A good day yesterday, waking and went to the toastmasters meeting. It's a public speaking group. Been trying to find one I like. This group was good. Pretty diverse. One woman I believe had Cerebral palsy I believe and the founder of the group had to be in his 70s or 80s. Spoke with no problem and was so interesting -- the two of them were so inspiring to me. I talked to the woman for a while and felt welcomed. A supportive group. I have not decided if I like going or if it scares me. I just want to improve my speaking skills and become a better leader. It was nice to be with a group of diverse people too.

Hello to all who stop by.

Going to the WW meeting and picking up a few things at the store. Have a great day! Kellie

Good Morning Team!

Took the puppies to the vet yesterday for their first shots. Jasmine weighs 3.5 lbs and Belle is 2.6. Everyone thought they were the cutest. They did well on the car ride, stayed in their seat and just fell asleep.

Nicky, they were born Oct 1 and I got them Dec. 1. We're working on potty training now. Yesterday they didn't have any accidents! I think it's easier with two. They copy each other and have to do everything together. They sleep in their pink crate and wake up around 3:30-4 which I can handle. They eat like they're starving so I just put food in their dish 3 times a day.

Kellie, I admire the effort to make peanut brittle. My only treats are the cashew bark and Baklava. Not as temperamental. Any leads on jobs or are you going to wait until after the holidays?

Beryl, are you feeling better? Did you have your regular WF Monday with the grandkids? You're right; puppies are the best. Their little faces are the sweetest.

Lori, I agree with Beryl. Problems with adult children are so much harder. Can't fix it with a kiss and hug. As mom's we always want to solve their problems and we can't.

Dr. Sue how are you? Any word from Lynn or Kathy? Wedding plans for Kathy?

I'm really enjoying WW Freestyle! I've lost 7 pounds on it. I'm more likely to get a boiled egg or yogurt as a snack now then a piece of fruit. I still watch the portions because it could easily become a free for all rather than freestyle. It's more along the lines of Simply Filling which in my opinion is a healthier way to eat.

Don't want to think about future care taking of my DM. She's 83 and very active which I'm grateful for. Don't want to see that change even though it's inevitable. I admire Kellie and Peg so much for the patience you have with your parents.

Peg, how's the shoulder and GERD?

Have a good Tuesday. It will be a pleasure to work the WW meeting today with working computers.

Corinne

Good Tuesday morning team. Rainy on and off today and warm.
Kellie, your brittle looked so good! I'd have had half of that left from all my "tasting". lol
I'm on a Proboards group and those who have tried the new program from WW are really, really liking it. Points for lean proteins are way down, so between vegetables and proteins it's easy to fill up and not feel deprived. My WI is on Saturday so I'll find out more then.
Hope my team is well. Have a great day

Hi ladies, good morning. I made peanut brittle on Sat with the family, a nice dinner birthday dinner for a friend on Sat night and on Sunday brunch with another good friend of ours from college. I wrapped and taped a good part of the brittle boxes ready to give away so I donít eat. Cricket wanted to play with the bows, eat them and the brittle Ė heís a nut.
Beryl, the wine day looked like a fun time Ė I hear weight watchers is going to start offering their own line of wines. So glad that you are feeling better

Corrinne, Congrats on the new pets what fuN! Glad the WW computer was resolved. Brittle is a process for sure. Maybe 25 minutes a batch. The candy is sensitive to moisture and can be taffy if you make it on a rainy day.

Nicky, Great job on the exercise! Are you still doing DVDs mostly?

Lori, thatís awesome about the family tree! Pretty cool.

Per our conversation about ongoing aging parents and loved onesÖ
The nursing care is crazy with cost. The way that I understand it (so you are not living in a box) as that you have to through all your cash then they put you on Medicaid to pay for the care (im no expert) Ė so best to divest assets. We were looking at that at one point with my dad in case he would not be able to come home. If you have a long-term care policy or maybe even being in the military (or family members) might have something Ė USAA (great company), it can cover some of the cost of care. One of my employers offered this to me (seems before this really got expensive in 2005), so I have a small one. Our planner recommends after 55 to look at those policies. Itís very expensiveÖ another thing to research. It seems to me helpful so you have more flexibility as to where you can be placed for care, and can get a home nurse. My parents were able to get free medical (due to income) at a local hospital as well, so all their prescriptions are free if they get them at the hospital. We have a ďdelicateĒ apple cart going, but glad they are OK and mostly mobile!

The "new" WW program seems like the core program combined with the Flex program. I will give it a go. I think portion control will be so key to make it work as you can eat zero foods + points which could be more food. I like what Beryl says that you have to work the program to make good decisions for you. I like WW support and the staff at my center. I love the positive environment. I agree, that it's not the answer for everyone and might not work for them either.

Working on career stuff/job hunting, might go to Toastmasters tonight tooÖ have a great day

Good Monday morning all! Hope you're all doing well.
Nicky, sorry you had a reaction to the cake and frozen yogurt, but lovely you went!
Corinne, mazel tov on the babies!! Puppies are the sweetest!
Lori, adult children are the hardest, aren't they? We think the little ones are hard, but that's nothing compared to the grown up versions.
Hi Peg, DrSue, and Kellie!
Had some GI thing yesterday on the way home from the winery. I was in bed at 5:30 and never got out. Better today, but--here's a shock--starving!! lol
I get so jealous of you ladies who get to decorate for Christmas! I know it's a PITA, but from the outside looking in, totally jealousy!

LORI, good for you that you are staying OP. Just heard a podcast that was really interesting--Debra Atkinson of FlippingFifty.com. There's plenty of free content, and she has some YouTube videos.
She's a non-believer in the calorie-in-calorie-out theory and confirms that science now shows it's the HORMONES that dictate metabolism, NOT calories.

Please don't allow yourself to be hurt or angered by others' behavior. Took me a long time to come to grips with the fact that my children can't read my mind, and they pretty much think of themselves first.

CORINNE!! So happy for you! How old are your little babies? Are they truly "puppies," or are they potty trained, etc.?

PEG, it's the lights that bother me the most about decorating the tree, so I thought I'd get a Balsam Hill already lit. I have a fake tree from Home Depot that is literally falling apart. I just want a 4-5 ft fake tree, especially considering DD will now only come home every other Christmas. New traditions.

$12,000/month???? OMG!!! SM's roommate is a nurse at an assisted living. The top floors are apartments that start at $10,000/month. I was so shocked. I was thinking $3,000/month. Way off, I guess. I'm going to start collecting refrigerator boxes now so that I'll have a place to live with my dogs.

I had cake and ice cream at SM's birthday party, and I paid for it by having swollen eyes and cravings the next day or two. It's really not worth it. It was a cake from Costco and just frozen yogurt from a machine; my body just isn't used to that type of ingredients.

Managed to cajole Gunther into doing 6 miles the other day and 4.7 yesterday. Today he watched me do a 90-minute power yoga class that was titled "Challenging." Oh, yes, it was!

Going to finish up ironing the curtains and getting the decorating started this week.

When you arise in the morning,

give thanks for the morning light, for your life and strength.

Give thanks for your food and the joy of living.

If you see no reason for giving thanks, the fault lies in yourself.

Hello Dear Team,

Yay Corrine, nope you are not a New Mommy, you are a gramma. Our cats know us as YaYa and Popi. Almost, like our grandbabies, they call us YaYa and Papa Fish. You never know about when or if so let these babies be that for you. Yes, I want to see pictures too. What made your heart choose this breed of doggies? Congratulations.

Peg, you got the tree. I looked them up too. They are so pretty. We were supposed to do x-mas decorating this weekend, but it didnít happen. We had the grandbabies a couple of hours, then they went with the non-elderly, to x-mas tree Lane. Yet, again, I was bent out of shape. Tonight weíll have a family dinner at our house and it will be tacos and taco salad. That will be sweet.

Then I leave tomorrow to get my car painted and protected the way it should have been since April. It will take 4 days, Iíll sleep over at my Dadís on Monday, then he and I will drive to my brotherís on Tuesday and stay there until my car is ready. They will give me a rental, Iíve requested another Prius.

Iíve been staying OP, at about 1000-1100 and getting my APs too. Hopefully Iím on the right track. My migraines are still dwindling slowly, but last night my body hurt so much that I had to take more rounds of medication which causes migraines, sadly. I donít recall anything I did to cause this extreme pain, but itís here. Thanks, Corrine, for asking.

~hugs to my Team, Lori

P.S. I have a cousin, I didnít know, doing a family tree of my Momís side of the family. OMG, to see pictures of my great gramma, my gramma and Aunts is AmAzInG

Good afternoon, Team!
CORINNE, two princesses! How old? Post a pic please, they sound adorable! Glad the computers are working now. Haven't opened the tree yet. Too early to set it up for me, although I won't have to wait as long as I did with a real tree. I understand about this month and the temptations. I always bake but am toying with the idea of not baking anything (other than dessert for Christmas dinner)
Hope my teamies are having a good day!

Good Morning Ladies!

WW computers finally worked yesterday after two weeks. Had forgotten how much easier it makes the meetings. We were thrilled. I was able to put out the new posters, etc. to be ready for tomorrow.

My big news is that I'm a new mother! I adopted two Peekapoo sisters. They are simply adorable. We named them Belle and Jasmine. One is light brown and bigger than her sister who's a lighter beige. Even DH is in love. I couldn't choose which one I wanted so I took both. Figured they could keep each other company and they've been together since birth. Seemed cruel to separate them. Our house felt empty without a fur baby and after two years we were all ready. My kids can't wait to come home for Christmas to meet them. As I type this, they're sleeping and laying on top of one another.

I have a light day tomorrow so I'm going to take them to the vet to get their shots and to get checked out in general. Been 19 years since I've had a puppy. I'll probably never have grandchildren so this is the next best thing.

Peg, do you like your tree? I agree that mindfulness is the hardest piece of all this. That and eating too fast. Trying to work on both issues. December is always a challenge for me with all the temptation, change of routine plus all the baking I do. Every year I say I'm going to cut down but I feel guilty if I don't continue those holiday traditions.

Lori, are the migraines gone? Hope there aren't any more reactions to the shingles shot.

Beryl, did you make it to any wineries this weekend?

Kellie, your peanut brittle looked so good on Facebook! That must take a lot of time.

Nicky, I started getting artificial trees after the real ones would always be so dry. Didn't seem to matter how early we got one or what type. I was tired of worrying about the fire hazard. We have one with lights which makes it so much easier. Just put ornaments on and done.

Have a restful Sunday everyone.

Corinne

Good morning Team!
NICKY, I ordered the 6.5 ft frasier fir...unlit. Have had issues with some prelit decorations this year and decided I didn't want to deal with it in the tree. Besides, some years I like white, some years multi. Just ordered it on Thursday night and received a notice it will be delivered today. Figured with the cost of real trees, after 5 years I'm home free. Sorry to hear about NM; I understand. Look at SM raking in the gifts! lol I didn't know Country Curtains went out of business. Weren't they in Stockbridge MA? Good luck with the windows.
LORI, the preplanning is really just a bookkeeping decision. Mom will probably live to be 100 or more! I need to get that $ out of her accounts before I do her Medicaid application (which I will have to do within the next year...yup, have blown through her savings at $12,000./month and she's been there over 2 years).

Mindfulness, the hardest thing for me. I can mindlessly shove tons of food into my mouth without noticing. Suddenly, my plate or bowl is empty and I'm surprised. How's that for not paying attention.

HI to DR SUE, BERYL, KELLIE and CORINNE!
Wishing all a good day

Peg

SM's birthday party was on Tuesday. Phew! So glad that's over. "No presents," should mean NO PRESENTS, but my little car was stuffed to the gills with gifts and birthday cake, and, of course, the walker.
Took her to Penney's after the party to return some slacks and get some new clothes.

The replacement window people were here from 9 A.M. to almost 6P.M. It was dark, a Friday, and I felt a little rushed as the lead man was showing me how to operate the windows, etc. Only after they left did I find some tools of theirs, which they will pick up tomorrow. 3 of the 17 windows have a little issue, so the manufacturer will have to come in a fix them. Always something, right?

I have new curtains for my bedroom. The house is a 103-year-old Virginia-type farm house. The bedroom has a canopy bed, so I can't very well put blinds or anything modern. Curtains just aren't on trend right now, so my usual sources, Country Curtains, have gone out of business.

PEG, I have been threatening to get a Balsam Hill little tree for two years! Can't bring myself to put out the cash quite yet, though. One more year of putting up that ridicu-fake tree will probably persuade me. It's the lights I hate! Which size did you get, and did you get the multi lights?

I'm totally turned off to WW at this point. Same with Atkins. Fake foods and trickery.
I believe it's corporate greed, not the individuals. Whatever works long term is the correct diet plan.
KATHIE used to talk alot about "mindfulness." I believe BERYL has that philosophy, too, by incorporating the Simply Filling technique.

I'm eating for "health span," which makes deciding what and how much to eat so much easier.

I haven't called 'nother mother since before Thanksgiving when she came home from the hospital. I feel guilty about it, but I can't have a regular conversation with her any more because she's sort of out of it.

Will catch up on your posts over the weekend. Gotta put this house back together after all this window stuff.

When you arise in the morning,

give thanks for the morning light, for your life and strength.

Give thanks for your food and the joy of living.

If you see no reason for giving thanks, the fault lies in yourself.

Hello Dear Team,

Peg, you worked like crazy yesterday, I think you got a whole lot done. It would have been nice had DB or DSIL let you know they were visiting Your Mom. It made me sad when you brought up pre-planning your Momís funeral. I hope that your headache goes away or has already left. Iím so happy about Melinda taking her medication via chicken baby food. Knowing Kivvy and Henry, theyíd turn up their noses to it. Oh, and, I have a similar feeling about WW, and zero points. But...........if not for us failing on WW pp, we all would not have met and for that I am grateful to them.

Beryl, I didnít know that your Son and his wife were touring Europe either. Is it for their honeymoon? Iím glad that class was so good, we donít hear that often.

Corrine and Kellie, I love BB&B, but I do have anxiety when I go. The cashiers in Fresno seem to like helping me with which coupon is better, I NEVER buy anything there without one.

Kellie I hope the time with your old boss is pleasant and fruitful for you.

Corrine, Iím sorry for all the WW box issues, it couldnít be much fun, as you have a life too.

So, Iíve decided to only eat 1000 calories and not 1200. I want to see if that makes the scale go down and my clothes fit looser. I can do it but it is much tougher than 1200. The massage was relaxing and painful, Iím a little sore today too. She told me to use a rolling pin on my muscles in my legs, that will lossen them.

~hugs, Lori

Good afternoon team! there was a little rain last night which caused some isolated icy spots, but now it's just gray and cold. Met a painting friend for breakfast. She was over here for a court appearance and so we met at a diner here instead of our usual. We laughed a lot, particularly when she got a frantic call from her DD about getting Harry Stiles tickets for Madison Square Garden. My response was...who's Harry Stiles? (apparently he was in One republic and now is solo) if it had been Foo Fighters, I would have been all over that!
BERYL, I didn't know or just don't remember that DS and DDIL were traveling. Glad they're enjoying it. Class is almost over? I can't believe that! Seems like you were just posting about it starting. No, I didn't know DB was visiting mom. If I had, I wouldn't have gone out yesterday. DSIL is having real concerns about DB's health. He has a history of mini strokes as well as his other medical issues. Also has an adenoma (?) that presses on his optic nerve. Has routine scans to monitor it. Spoke with DSIL about wanting to prearrange mom's funeral and that I would like the two of them to go with me. She'll talk to DB. Told her I had mentioned it to him a long time ago, but I dropped the ball.
KELLIE and CORINNE, I also liked BB&B. Could always find something I "need" as CORINNE said. I have a problem going into "smelly" places. I find it unpleasant and never go into Yankee Candle anymore.
KELLIE, I woke up with such a headache and know it is sinus related because of the front/storm that passed through last night. Is this meeting with your former boss tied to a possible employment opportunity?

I bit the bullet and ordered a tree. Hope I'm happy with it, though I can return it, within 30 days or before Christmas, whichever comes first. Bought it from Balsam Hill.

As for WW, I have conflicted feelings. Either they don't really know what helps weight loss or are following trends or making changes to keep people rejoining and bring money in. I know they are a business, but the original plan behind it was to help people. My current thought is that it is more revenue focused than helping people focused (and of course, I referring to corporate as opposed to individuals)

Not a political rant, but a shocked question. Has a close ally ever talked about a POTUS like GB's Parliament did after his Britain First retweets? If you haven't heard it, you should look it up. It is jaw dropping.

Wishing all a great day!

Mid day check in for me. Getting ready to eat my huge salad. I'm way too excited.
OMG, BB&B is an issue for me. My head starts spinning and I go nuts. I find way more things I never knew I couldn't live without in there! It's like the Trader Joe's of "stuff" LOLOL
Enjoy the visit with your former boss Kellie. Networking is such a good thing.
Corinne, how frustrating for you!!! UGH! I don't know why they are not more technologically savvy. Their website used to be difficult to navigate, and even now it's not easy putting my monthly free etools pass in.
POLITICAL RANT ALERT!!!
Oh my gosh ladies, could this be it?? Flynn is tying trump to Russia. LOCK HIM UP! All of them! Of course, they're also taking away our medicare, our health care, our tax deductions, and anything else they can find....

Kellie, I love BB&B! I put their coupons in my car so I always have them. Love to look around at all their gadgets. I'm always able to find something I "need." :)

Hope your allergies get better. Is there a possibility you'll work for your old boss or you're just having a social visit?

Peg, so sorry about the visit with your mother. Must be so hard on you. Your decorating sounds lovely. I bought our Christmas tree after Christmas last year. I got it on-line on Kohl's website. Very pleased with it and it sure simplifies things.

Beryl, my plans for the weekend surround WW. I'm the Location Coordinator for our site so I have to put up all the new posters, program material, etc. for next week's launch. Our computer system is still down. Spent until 7 pm with the tech. Turns out the box they sent us was programmed wrong so it's useless. Some rule about it having to be programmed on their end so this tech couldn't do it. They're sending out another one. Won't hold my breath. Going to be a delight trying to process members and not being able to enter any info in the computer. Can't tell you how many hours I've spent on this issue in the last two weeks.

Hello to Lori, Nicky and Dr. Sue. Hope you all have a good weekend.

Lori, we have had such mild weather here in PA in Nov and now Dec. I am loving it and I am glad that you are able to enjoy the sun.

Peg, the coupons can be a hassle for me Ė lol! I have a basket and dump in from the mail. I donít like having to buy duplicates of things with some of them. I am sorry you had a rough night with mom and I am sure she appreciate you coming. When my dad nods off, sleep apnea, I head outÖ

Beryl, on your phone where the weather is (if you have an iphone) you can add a clock for a country. Thatís great DS is traveling. Great work on the classes
-----
Yeah, Bed, Bath and Beyond is a cool place. If you like to look around, they have neat stuff. It used to overwhelm me and never went in. When they started getting their shampoos, soaps and coffees, I started using my coupons. We had a couple close in our area and I worry that they may go under. People love those 20% off coupons you can see how excited they are in the store. I bet the cashiers feel insane - lol.

Working on career stuff. Have a call with my previous boss from years ago to catch up, looking forward to it. My allergies have been bothering me and took some sinus meds and feel so much better today. Did some lights out front and have several sets I need to recycle - half working. A local supermarket recycles the wiresÖwhat a mess!

Have a great day

TGIF ladies!! Going to be a nice weekend.
Lori, how was the massage? I have one tonight. Forgot about it till I got their email.
Peg, all that decorating! Sorry your mom wasn't doing well by the time you got there. Interesting you ran into DSIL and DB. Did you know they'd been going to see your mother?
Great class last night. I felt it went really well. Only one left--presentations and done.
DS and DDIL got to Germany fine, now on to Rome. I get so confused with the time changes!
Corinne, any weekend plans?
Hi to Nicky, DrSue, and Kellie. If I forgot anyone I'm so sorry. It's just 7am!
Have a great day ladies

Good evening Team! Feel like I was busy today yet didn't accomplish a lot. Bought the wreaths for the doors and greens for the containers by the front door. The wreaths are hung and the greenery arranged (after I switched out the screens in the doors for the the storm windows and cleaned them). Put up the lights on the lamp post. Of course I tried them first and everything worked. After I put them up, half of them remained unlit, so I grabbed a string of lights and threaded it through the greenery on the post. Went out looking for a tree, but yes, I've waited too long and there is hardly anything in the stores. Didn't want to do it online without seeing it first, but I may. I am really leaning toward an artificial one. Then went out to see mom and ran into my DSIL who was coming to pick up DB. She and I had a good conversation and then I saw DB and we had a good talk. (Haven't seen them in probably 6 months) Unfortunately, DB must have used up all of mom's "good time" because our visit was not pleasant. She was stuck in some "loop" and just kept talking and rhyming (thinking that must be a step on the dementia scale) and being upset. Couldn't redirect her at all. I didn't stay too long.

Lean protein zero points? Wonder if that will be a problem like zero point fruit?

BERYL, think the school craziness is because of the upcoming holidays/school break? My house is very small, too. Is your friend's surgery still planned as outpatient? I think we talked about WD...can't understand why he went to the heapsters alone.......
KELLIE, you are so good with coupons. Good idea, a box at a time.
LORI, how nice to see the blooming bourgainvilleas. It is so hard, especially around the holidays, when there are family issues. Like we all have had to learn, although they are our children, they are adults and will make their own choices. (Actually, we owe it to them to let them make their own choices and then deal with what comes after, be it good or bad) Likewise, we owe it to ourselves to make choices that are good for us, even though that is difficult. If you want to host the holiday, then just let everyone know that it will be at your house and what they should bring. Thinking of you.
CORINNE, both your children will be back in just a couple of weeks. Wonderful!
DR SUE, welcome back! Glad it worked out well. So far Melinda is loving the chicken baby food and so I crush her pills and she's taking them easily. (And the pills are less than half the price of the compounded liquid..an added benefit!)
NICKY, thinking about you.

Wishing all a good evening.

Peg

Good morning Dear Team,

Kellie, Iím with you, regarding the 20% off coupons. The Fresno BB&B have hair and body care products and more. Down south they never had any of that. Enjoy your shopping spree.
As I read about your kitties, Iím reminded of all that I do with and for mine, and each have so much personality. My only sugar is stevia, and that is 1 for my coffee a day.

Beryl, youíve got your weight loss/ maintenance going extremely well. While WW may change up annually, you are doing the older plan that works for you, no? Kids are crazy at your school, and all others too. Itís so sad, and so different than when I was in school.

Corrine, Iím glad that youíll have both kiddos for Xmas. Channuka is during school, this year, so I wonít have the kids, every night, like last year. We get a real tree, we enjoy the scent it gives off. You are right, itís messy and the needles get everywhere, but DH and DD2 prefer real, so I go along with it.

Hello Peg, are you warm yet? As I drove to the DDS yesterday, I took another street and I saw two homes with bougainvilleas growing over there block walls, just lime mine. One was purple and so full, the other was pink and not as full, but both were beautiful.

The grandfather was my son in lawís. Their house, their rules. Beryl I know that you host everyone, and it all goes so nicely. I think that my house is big enough, but son in lawís family is huge, and some bring lots of drama and alcohol. But, the grandfather and his girlfriend are just background people and they wonít be around for much longer.

As I post I am totally engulfed in the sun, through a window, itís so precious, these days. I hav3 my massage this afternoon and boy do I need it.

~hugs, Lori

Good afternoon team. Check in before going to teach.
OMG, kids are nuts. Fights, getting high in bathrooms--all kinds of craziness.
Just read online Corinne that lean proteins will now be 0 points, but our dailies go way down. Weeklies stay the same. Wine is going to HURT!! I will manage though!
Hope everyone is enjoying their day.
Have a good afternoon folks

Hi Team,
The scale is going down, which is great. I have been trying hard to reduce my artificial sweeteners and I think no matter what the calories, itís messing up my metabolism. When I gave them up last time, I lost. My only vice - lol

I switched back to smart points in anticipation of the changes Ė Iím going to give it a go with the changes. So gone is my sugary bars and cerealÖ lol.
----------
Corinne, I have my tree up and am doing a box here and there. I donít have too much on purpose. They definitely need an overnight box at our WW. I recently had to wait for them to open the door and run a key over! Our leader said too they need be quiet about the changes, so I have not been bugging her.

Peg, I like our artificial tree as it looks like a real one. A crafter made it and it has a wooden trunk and a skinny tree. I donít have to take it apart.
Dr. Sue, your weekend sounds nice! The cottage sounds the perfect place to rest too.

Lori, yeah, that all sounds so strange with DD. I agree, have one at your place, invite them and if they chose to do their own thing, itís on them. You should not have to plan your life around all that and you are the momÖ Iím sorry you have to endlessly have to deal with this as you are a dear and wonderful person.

Beryl, Iím happy to send you the name of our guy if you ever need a referral. They keep track of our life insurance policies, but no need to switch to them. I am not very good with all that, so I am glad to have them. I am happy to know I am on track and trying to plan for the moving parts Ė the parentís health stuffÖ

--------

Cricket is trying to open the closet door in my office, Belle is here and Mango too. My colleagues for a bit. Working on career stuff, need to go to Bed Bath and Beyond for essentials (love those 20% coupons) and the water heater guy for an estimate.

Good Morning Ladies!

Woke up at 1 this morning and not sure why. At least I don't have a huge workload today.

Dr. Sue, glad you're back! DS is already gone but he and his sister will be here the middle of December for a month. That's the only present I need!

Beryl, I host Christmas Eve and either my mom or sister will do Christmas Day but we all bring things. I make it easy on myself. Lots of appetizers and cold shrimp, chicken meatballs in the crockpot and whatever goodies I've made over the holidays. Both DD and DN requested a pumpkin cheesecake so that will be our dessert.

Lori, what would happen if you just told everyone you were doing the holiday at your house? Then you could invite anyone you want. Just assign things for each guest to bring so you don't have the entire burden.

Peg, I would recommend an artificial tree. We've had one for a long time now. I'm so over the dry tree, worrying about it catching on fire and cleaning up needles for weeks after the holidays. If you get one I would suggest one with lights. Makes things so much easier. You just put three big pieces together and your ornaments.

Beryl as a WW employee I'm sworn to secrecy about new changes but you're guesses are pretty good. Your mobile app will have the new changes on your weigh in day and if you go to meetings I would go next week for sure.

The overnight box I was waiting for finally arrived after 6 nights. Now I have to wait for someone to install it at WW. That will be another battle. Can't believe it can take so long to fix something that should be so easy.

This is Us was another great episode! The writing is amazing. Love the way they're developing each character. Now we have to wait until January.

Kellie have you finished your decorating? With your fur babies help?

Have a good day.

Corinne

Good Thursday morning team.Definitely colder than yesterday. Still that beautiful pink sky when I pull into our parking lot. 16 days till break!
Lori, thanks for explaining the situation. I always have to laugh when folks say their house is too small to host things. NO ONE has a smaller house than I do. No one. I can guarantee that. Yet I have everything. It's not easy, but I have to get over my house envy of everyone else! So DD did not invite your father? Or who is the grandfather she did not invite? Hey--their choice. HIs fight to fight if he wants to. You've unfortunately been down that road with her before and just remember--she needs you big time for the kids. Your choice how much/what you do. Big hugs to you.
DrSue, you've been busy, as always! What are the Christmas plans? Will you go back to camp? Hurry and catch up with This Is us!!!
Peg, what did you think of WD??
Kellie, totally envious of your retirement guy. I had one, then switched many years ago when my dad told me how much he liked his. Switched to that company and not thrilled. Then switched again when we switched life insurance companies. Did go to the place the state has our retirement funds in, and I liked her better than anyone else. I wish DSIL would look my stuff over. But he won't and I sort of get that.
Corinne, will you host everyone for Christmas? How is DH doing? My friend has his new hip on 1/11. I hope it helps him. It won't solve all his issues but hopefully a lot.
Hi Nicky! What are your holiday plans? Did you talk to NM or SM?
Have a great day everyone

Hello Dear Team,

Dr. Sue Iím glad that you are back safely. We just watched This is Us, so hurry up, please.

For Thanksgiving, my DD1, did not want to host it. No one else offered, and she felt that my house was not big enough. She and her DH decided if they hosted only sisters, brother, the kids associated, and the parents. It was nice but them not inviting the only grandpa and his girlfriend. (Silís grandfather), it was way too sad. I had a short visit with the other gramma and she was upset, seems like our kids are making a statement and it worries us. What will happen if I live to, who knows what, will she not invite me either? I just donít like how we are here for her convenience and nothing else. It was just sad.

I just donít like her very much now. Thankfully, Iím not around her very much unless she needs me. The migraines are lessening and my arm does not hurt much anymore.

I am not doing well on my weight loss. Iím tracking everything, Iím doing my bike or walking and Iím gaining, Iím so frustrated but not defeated.

It is cold out, but Iím trying to get some sunshine on/in me as SADD is taking hold of me.

Iíve caught up with all posts but other than whine Iíve got nothing, Iím so sorry.

~hugs, Lori

Hey team! I was trying to catch up with you all. Then the "this is us" discussion kept coming up. I'm now two weeks behind. We had a nice loong weekend, Tuesday til. Monday. We did so much prep here, it went smoothly. The food was good, but not quiet how I normally eat. it was hunting season so excersize was very limited. The cottage was warm and cozy, and I had a lot of good quality time in front of the fire. Peg, how did wuzband do with hunting? Any venison in your future?

Corinne, I'm glad DS is home!

Kellie, I'm so glad you fish are Safe inside.

We got home Monday and have been catching up. Today was Kookoo bananas. I know my weight is up. I feel blah. I have to get myself back together. I think I'm in the same rut as Peg.

I will try and catch up with "this is us" and then finish up catching up with you all. Have a great night!

Good morning, team and it is beautiful out (tho not as warm as BERYL will enjoy today)
Went to the gym and he kicked my butt. Felt good in a perverse sort of way...lol
Not much going on; I should take advantage of the better weather and do whatever outside decorating I'm going to do. Maybe...

Everyday brings a new name and some cause me great disappointment. The only one I feel bad about is the elder G. Bush. Those complaints seem to be recent and my feeling is it is due to age. I've seen a lot of that in the facility when I visit mom (men and women). If complaints are from an earlier time, then I take that back. (Besides, do you think Barbara would let him get away with that? lol)

Mulling over getting an artificial tree. Looked on line yesterday, but I'd really like to see it first. Maybe take a ride to Lowe's later. It would certainly be easier. Wouldn't have to get someone to go with me tree shopping each year, battle with getting it straight in the stand, worry about watering it enough to prevent drying out and no needles. Still undecided.

Weird thing with my cell phone yesterday. Rec'd a notification that I had new voicemails. Turns out they were from August and Sept.! How strange is that...

Wishing all a great day!

Peg

Hi Ladies, A good day yesterday. Ran to WW, reached out to colleagues and wrote some cover letters. I walked 52 miles and lost .8 (LOL) I will take it. Went to my favorite dollar yesterday Ė great Disney gift bags I got! Did a walking DVD in the PM. leslie sansone is really positive. I like her and her DVDS

Plan to stay OP and keep working here at the career piece.
------
Beryl, I am really upset by all the political stuff and Trump. I had seen an uptick in peopleís bad behavior (work, social media, TV), so it really sets a bad tone having a leader act and say odd stuff. I have had to shut it all off honestly (I read maybe once a day), turned off CNN (stopped my nightly you tubing). It was making me depressed, which was not helping me at all. There is a push for Impeachment going and a rally in DC in Jan. Tom helps me by saying it will come to pass (which I like & says we look out for the people in our lives to make sure they are ok), but at what cost (is what I am thinking). We also only see the bad on the news, too, so I have been trying to put myself in positive environments and surround myself with positive people Ė helping me to move on career wise too. The weight watchers meeting and getting that weekly therapy helps.

Our retirement/financial person is great. I really am not great at all that and have no interest, but enough to plan with his help. I went to a financial class at Temple University when I was 32 and he taught it. He went through planning, 401Ks, wills, planning for retirement (you did not have to be a client). I have been a client for 12 years. He makes it easy for us with the planning. I am not good reading all those statements, but he has time for as much or as little you want to do. He is in Harleysville, PA. We meet periodically (reviews everything), and shows us a projection of age of retirement and how much we will need to save to make our goals. He will also do all the roll over work for us with the 401K work. He always has good advice too about the moving parts (parents, stock, etc) and I feel lucky to work with such an honest man/firm.

--------
Hello to all who stop by Ė have a great day.

Good Wednesday morning ladies. Going up to 62 today. May bag the gym and take a walk instead!
Kellie, how did the meeting with the retirement person go? I have one, actually two, and am not fond of either one. I hate finding financial folks. I'm just not good at it.
Corinne, our WW place has the most awful time with their technology there. The system is always down, it's spotty at best, and it's a mess. I thought it was just there. Have you heard much about the new program? I did hear it's just a few tweaks, and that proteins are going to be 0 points--lean proteins and vegan/vegetarian options such as beans, not everything. I think it rolls out next week.
What did we all think of This is Us??I think it's now pretty clear how Jack dies, but not the circumstances.
POLITICAL RANT ALERT---
When will he be stopped??? He tweets right hate groups rhetoric, then deletes it. Points fingers at Matt Lauer but has molested women all his life. I'm having a hard time right now....any suggestions ladies??
Have a great day all!

Hi Ladies, working here with Belle next to my keyboard purring. I think I need to reorganize my desk so we can both fit. What a love. Yeah, I do enough with Christmas that it's not too overwhelming.

Beryl, nice work on the classes. I saw your Monday night meal - is that a weekly tradition?

Corinne, That's cool you still keep in touch with friends like that. I hear you about the decorating. Some years it's a struggle for me to get organized. This year I have some time and it's fun again - lol. I have ornaments from early in our relationship so It's neat remembering the year.

Going to weight watchers today and our retirement planning person in the evening. Trying to work on APS, tracking, water and staying OP.

Yesterday I did leslies samsone's 5 mile DVD and mall walking. I am sts on the scale. That's ok.

Have a great day

Good Morning Team!

House is so quiet now with DS gone. I was able to stop in Springs and have coffee with an old friend I went to grad school with. We reconnected on Facebook and we try to see each other whenever we're in each other's cities. We must have talked for 3 hours non-stop.

I only had one hearing yesterday so I took advantage and went to PF for a work-out. Felt good to get my week off to a good start. I wasted so much time at WW last week being stood up twice for some tech who was supposed to fix our system. Still not fixed which means we have to do everything by paper again today. Slows everything down.

Kellie, glad you had a good time at the beach. I admire anyone who gets in the holiday spirit by decorating early. Now that my kids are grown; I'm so over the work. My DS puts up the tree when he's home for break. My ambition has taken a holiday somewhere.

Peg, I meant to ask you if the ACV is helping you? My DH had to resort to it after all the various Thanksgiving things he mixed. Said it helped him. I'm usually okay to take it once a day now at the end of the day. Keeps me from waking up with GERD.

Beryl, has your office warmed up any? I hate being cold and everyone seems to keep the AC on all year round.

Lori, hope your migraines are gone. I'm sorry you had such a bad reaction to the shingles shot but hopefully it will keep you from getting shingles.

Dr. Sue, are you back to work? Bet lots of furry patients are waiting for you.

Hello to anyone else I may have forgotten. Brain cells are taking a holiday too.

Corinne

Good Tuesday morning team. Glorious pink sun at sunrise. So pretty!
Kellie, glad you had a great time. I do not remember Christmas decorations, so many of them, being up Thanksgiving weekend! I probably say that every year. lol
DH has a massage I bought him tonight, so I'll hit muscle pump at 6. Have zoodles for dinner, along with real pasta too. I mix them since I like to eat a LOT of pasta!
Tonight is This Is Us!! Randall's story.
Hope everyone is well. Have a great day

HI Team, happy Monday and we are back from the shore. It was a great time and lots of walking, relaxing and resting.

I got our artificial tree up last night and added some branches. Itís 10+ years old, but looks pretty good still, you just have to keep straightening out the branches.

Corinne, I hear you with DH. Tom loves to clean the gutters, get on the roof Ė I canít tell him not to do itÖ (Iíve tried)

Beryl, Yes, small doses it not a bad thing with family - I agree

Nicky, I had never thought of that with the heat in the house. It must get overwhelming with the stove. I am glad you worked it all out. The pets and their places, I hear you

Peg, Yes, right, it is exhausting with the holidays. I have it down to a science as best I can to keep the stress down. I have my old skinny tree takes 10 minutes to set up, key people I must shop for and the rest get peanut brittle/candy I make.

Lori, I am glad you had a nice time at your brotherís home. Iím not following the whole story with DD1, but know you are a wonderful person. Hugs
-----
Hi Ladies, the funny thing about being home is that I am so slow at everything except what I did for a living. Ha! Working on reaching out to secure references and writing cover letters! Good to connect with people.

Will go for a walk and some Aps this evening. I walked 51 miles last week!

I hope the scale shows!

Take good care!
