LORI, maybe I should clarify. The newspaper and cardboard are full sheets, several thicknesses to act as a mat to kill the grass. I have put layers of leaves and some of the compost I bought on top of that. The clippings and weeds are tossed back in the wooded area. It looks all nice and neat. Good luck at the rheumy.
KATHIE, I wish I had a compost pile. As I said above, this is part of the yard of compost I bought from a local recycling place. They take waste from local restaurants (excluding meat, etc) and have a large composting program. They then sell the finished compost.
I visited with my poor neglected rock garden, cleaned it up, discovered lots of little babies, gave it a good drink and then a layer of compost (as mulch) on top.
Wishing all a good evening.

Hello Dear Team,

Kathie, it is so fortuitous, that you asked me that question. I love my home, and my garden, but not Clovis/Fresno. I didn't realize that so much until we went down to LA, to the beach, etc. the air is so cool and fresh there. My DD2 almost hates it here. There is literally nothing to do here, or to go visit, other than my sweet grandbabies. I think there is a reason for everything but I'm thinking that my DH made a big mistake choosing the Fresno plant to work out of. I was just thinking of you and how your move was life changing in a great way, and then I read your post.

I want to clarify that I am grateful for our life and blessings, I'm just not sure if Clovis is where we're meant to be, if that makes any sense.

Peg, that is all for compost? I was wondering why you'd just want to throw weeds, clippings and newspaper on your lawn, ha ha. Yesterday, as usual, I spent all day in my garden, sweating something awful. I turned the hose on me and it was delightful. Wow, who knew, that if I was wet by the hose and not sweat, it could be wonderful. I'm battling the heat with more sun shade sails, or at least I'm trying. I'm so happy to hear that you are happy and enjoying yourself.

DD1 is coming over with the kids, tomorrow I go back down south to my Rheumy. Stay cool and have a great day, ~hugs, Lori

Peg, glad your weather broke. I envy your compost pile. I always had a compost bin but its impossible with this townhouse. My "lawn" is not much larger than a bathmat. My plants are doing well though.

In my old house I would have installed Ozzie as a studio cat as it was a separate building and I kept it heated. He would have been happy there. Here there is no way to keep him separate. If Ben had lived we would have had 3 cats. And 2 dogs as well if Charlie had lived. And all in harmony I think as Charlie & Ben we both so gentle. I miss them terribly and feel guilty for complaining about Charlie as he made the difficult transition from being Bill's dog to mine.

Anyway, I plan to check in more often. Need to get back to my good habits. But we are eating well & getting to the gym 5 times a weeks so those good habits are intact.

Wishing my team a good and happy day.

Good morning, Team. Another good day. Finally worked on the future "natural area" in the back of my yard. Created a path so I can still dump leaves and weeds and stuff back there, covered the grassy area with cardboard and newspaper and topped it with compacted leaves and compost. Put a few plants in and did the grass covering thing around them, too. Still have a couple more plants to move around and put in. Spent the morning vacuuming. It's ant season and I had to vacuum up the carnage from my battle with them. They're trying to establish new homes and so the winged ones as well as the others are out and about. (shhh...don't tell BERYL)
KATHIE, yay for the design wall. Some animals just need to be the "only one". I think that is Melinda's case and so, she is restricted to her room. Good luck to Ozzie.
LORI, yup, I am feeling peppier with the change in weather. Hoping it lasts a while. Glad you are home again and the weekend went well. I'm glad you were there for your friend.
Heading outside; wishing all a great day.

Lorie, so glad you had a good time. Do you miss So Cal? I hope you are happy in your new home with your beautiful new garden.

Ozzie cat is not coming to live with us for a number of reasons. Basically he needs to be an only pet. I've been spending time with him, grooming him, etc. every day and he's finally responding to me. But he has issues and cannot live with a dog. He was Bob's late wife's cat and never warmed up to Bob at all. Nevertheless Bob has cared for him and tried his best. My Annie and Sammi adore Bob so maybe Ozzie just likes women. Brother Wolf has a wonderful facility (no kill of course) and a great track record in rehoming pets. We had to wait a month to have an intake appointment.

Sammi & GG are still working on it. Sometimes they are on the bed together but they still have occasional spats. How knows how it starts but Sammi hasn't drawn blood so it can't be that serious.

The design wall goes up today. I'm pretty excited. Waited almost a year for one.

Off to the gym. I am giving the groove (free dance) a rest for now and doing TRX (strength) on T/Th so we'll see how that goes.

Hello Dear Team,

It was a lovely whirlwind weekend. Lots of driving and some bad traffic, but we enjoyed the pier at Santa Monica, Dinner at Bubba Gumps, nice hotel and the memorial gathering was sweet as well. I was the only friend, of the kids, I was the only one invited, all the others were family and friends of my BFF's father. I felt honored to be there and help my BFF through the day. We got home last night at 10:30. Talk about eating junk, oh yes, that was me. Jewish desserts are too addictive for me. Then I had a large root beer, and DD's French fries on the drive home. I NEVER do that. I got on my bike and rode for an hour, before bed.

Dr. Sue, how fun. Dinner at your house and a comedy show. We now live in Central Ca., not Northern. It is very hot in the summers and very co,d in the winters.

Kellie, yay, about the bike. I love mine and I don't hurt during or afterwards, that's a win, win for me.

Peg, I can detect a pep in your step, now that the weather is nicer. It makes me smile.

Kathie, so Bob has two cats? He wanted to bring, only GG? I'm glad that you are settling in.

Today is in the 90's so I will enjoy my garden. I got a new shade sail, that I want and need to put up.

~hugs, Lori

Good morning team. Gym was good, wuzband backed out of bike ride. It is beautiful today. I could get used to this! Out to the yard and try to catch up before my new plants arrive. yes, I confess that I ordered some monarda...different varieties that I have never seen before...a spotted one and a deep purple and a very pale pink and one that is very resistant to the mildew that befalls them all.
KATHIE, dinner sounds great and what fun to have a cooking partner. Hope the kitty finds a good home.
KELLIE, hope you enjoy the new bike. Happy you had a good weekend.
A big hello to all my friends and teamies!

Hope I hear from the lawnmower hospital soon.

Kathie, The meals sound great and thatís good the kitty will have a good home at the shelter. The ones near us seem more like a fancy hotel. Itís no wonder some are unfriendly as they donít want to leave I think.

Peg, yay, the pool is ready and nice work on the loss

Dr. Sue, I think the frog has a place he hides now and I donít see him too much Ė only here and there during the day

Lori, Sorry to hear about your friendís father. Have a good trip

Nicky, I hear you. I have a battle with 10, but that battle seems to keep me working toward fitnessÖ maybe my bodyís trick

Lynn, search under recently tracked items and search there. The app should save it in the history

Hi ladies, happy Monday. It was a nice weekend of cooking, gardening and a nice get together at my friendís house. We did a silly Christmas Pollyanna in June Ė lol. Lots of dumb and fun gifts.

The scale was up and some work to do Ė and period Ė a mess! Getting back to basics too. I packed and tracked all my food. I will WI before the weeks up for June.

I am excited to tell you that I am ordering a new bike for my retro gym. The floor model at a local place for half price. I was reading how many calories you burn when you bike ride. I'm on a mission.

;) have a great day!

Just a quick check in to let my friends know I'm still here.

I've started working on some new things in the studio. Not making quick progress--life has been a little busy. Getting the design wall up is complicated but we are on track to finish by Tuesday. Its going to look good and be a useful tool. Also still going to Bob's every day to feed the cat who will be moving to the shelter in a week. It takes a huge chunk out of the day but I have gotten some things done while riding along. I feel sorry for the cat and hope somehow he finds a new home where he can be happy but I kind of doubt it. At the worst he will be cared for and he couldn't be any more depressed than he is already.

Our kitties are getting used to each other with only one yowling incident and a few hissy stand offs They seem pretty interested in each other and usually hang out in the same room. Annie is enthralled and George Gershwin (GG will be his abbreviation) is very comfortable with her. They were nose to nose in a few days.

Since Beryl isn't here to tell us what wonderful meal she's having I'm glad Dr. Sue shared her feast. Now my turn. Tonight I'm making fish with lemon/caper sauce, brown rice and garlic spinach. I'm getting back into the groove with cooking now that I have not only someone to enjoy a meal with but also a skilled sous chef. We are quite compatible in the kitchen. I was always the sole cook so this is new and quite enjoyable.

Will try to keep in the loop. Things will calm down after the 4th I think.

Wow, can y'all believe that it will be Jully this week?

Good evening Team. Another beautiful day! Pool is ready, deck furniture out, still more "plant visiting" to do and more plants to put in.
DR SUE, your grill out sounds delicious. I'd take that over going out any day. Congrats on finding your way back to OP. Glad you enjoyed Paula P.; DH's loss :-)
LORI, enjoy your DD time.
Gym at 8 and then another ride with "wuzband" (oh how I love that word!) Finding way too much of the invasive bittersweet all through my yard. No way to get rid of it all, but I do need to tackle some of it. Down another pound, so although it is very slow going, I'm down about 5 in the last 6 weeks (yes, there was tumbling off the wagon during that time). Only 15 or so to go!
Wishing my team a great evening!

Well, team just as I said I was doing so well, I tanked. I got derailed with a friend going through a hard time, it was hot and miserable here, work was weirding out and I found myself glum. All added up to too much food, mostly not good and a few extra cocktails. However, today a friend who also just went through a bade scare with her dog wanted to go to lunch with our group of GF's. As we started talking I sent out the text, why don't you all come to my yard, I'll fire up the grill etc. so that's what we did. I had so much stuff to use. I made a caper se salad, a wilted arugula salad with salad turnips and strawberries with balsamic glaze, a garlic brat from the farm I get my eggs from back home, with grilled peppers and onions. My BFF brought a pineapple, so I grilled that for dessert. All 5 ladies made it for at least a bit. So, feeling better.

Peg, I'm glad you had a good ride with wuzband! (Yup I think that should go in the dictionary, Lynn) I hope you get in your pool soon. It's almost fourth if July. I hope your gardens enjoyed your visit.

Lori, of you are farther north, why is it so much hotter? Or is it just the awful weather pattern affecting the southwest? Glad you had so much fun at the pool. Enjoy the air conditioned hotel glad DD is with you.

Lynn, I get how it can be dead one minute and suddenly you are swamped. At 5:30 pm, I cringe at the statement " well, my pet has been sick all day long. I've been watching him/her. I think I need to be seen" the answer is, "of course" the mental thought is, " thanks a lot, I've wasted a day doing nothing and now I have to stay late and pay my staff overtime, since you "watched your pet puke all day long!" I'm sorry about the worry of a cougar. It is the nature of the beast. We had such an over population of deer up by my camp for years, I'd rather sustain the big cats, than have the deer starve or be hit on the roads. That being said, I don't want to see it.

Kellie I hope your new garden is beautiful. How is Mr Frog?

Nicky, I hope all is well. I have no doubt that Corrine and Beryl are having incredible trips.

So my DH bought tickets to Paula Poundstone (comedienne) last fall. The show was last night. Well, he was invited to judge the youth National 420 championships in TX and was absent. So I took my BFF, we had a great time. Didn't help with the eating well, but helped my frame of mind. I got up today, did the Puzzle, did get on the bike and spin. Got my plants, planted.
Great time with my GF's. Now chilling. Q is feeling better, so life goes on. Back to work in the AM.

Hello Dear Team,

Lynn I love wuzband too. It's hot and hotter here. DD2 and I will be traveling down south, shortly, to Redondo beach, stay at a hotel, then tomorrow go to my BFF since HS, her father's memorial. Last night we partied. I was on grand doggie duty, so I was given permission to have a BBQ and party with the other grand parents, Aunt and Uncle. It was fun, cos we went into and out of the pool, listened to 60, 70 and 80's music on Pandora and sang all night. The ladies had a whole lot of alcohol. I didn't, I'm such a lightweight, plus I knew we were going away the next day. It's quite funny to me when people drink to excess and are all goofy. I was goofy, too, but just cos I was having fun. I'm praying that the neighbors don't complain to DD1 when they get back.

Peg, I took my migraine meds and hoped that riding the bike would speed them along and get my stomach digesting and it worked. Normally, I have to be in a dark room but this one was different. We got a newer bird feeder and they seem to like this one better, and so do I because I don't have to refill every day.

Lynn, I forgot what you do at the clinic. I'm saddened to hear about the fawn being eaten, but glad to hear that you want to get out kayaking. I'm sorry to hear that your son is depressed. My DD2 and I go through that a lot. It's heart wrenching.

Well I gotta go and get packed, talk with you soon, ~hugs, Lori

Good afternoon Team! Sunny and hot, but the humidity has lessened. pool finally is vacuumed and looks clean. Temp seems warm enough, too. Time to put the furniture on the deck.
Hope everyone is well. Have to go to DD2's to feed her cats as they are away for a couple of days. Think I'll wait until the sun shifts some before I weed a/k/a visit my plants. That gives me a great excuse to watch the Yankee game this afternoon.

Per fb, looks like BERYL and CORINNE are having a wonderful time.

A good day to all!

Good evening, Team!
LYNN, love "wuzband" and I may have to use it...lol Hope you get out to paddle without having to worry about a big cat. Squirrels and birds pilfer everything! Stress eating is understandable after such a phone call. Wishing a good weekend for you.
LORI, I'm here! hot and humid today. This weather just can't make up its mind, I guess. Heard that your heat wave may go through next week and I'm sorry to hear that. Hope you are feeling better, but I have to ask...if you are suffering with a migraine, why would you ride your bike for an hour? Have to think that didn't help much.

Went to my first acupuncture session tonight. Time will tell if it helps. I really like the practitioner. Didn't do much today because of the heat and humidity. It was enough to just sit in front of the fan. Someone (and I think it's Mr. Bunny) is eating the buds from my coral bells. Guess it's time to bring out the stinky stuff.

Wishing all my team a good evening!

Hi.

Lori, here's your Teammie from BC, Canada so you're not alone! Have given up on checking in on my tablet so if works fatiguing I just go "home" w/o much online activity. Clinic is slow this afternoon (beautiful sunny Friday Afternoon with grad activities happening).

Peg, nice that you got out biking. Smiled at your going with your ex-hubs ... my friend refers to her "ex" as her 'wuzband".

Kellie, having a few issues with the app, when you create a food, how do you find it later? yeah that you're staying on plan. of note, I found a copy of the food companion I wanted on Amazon but it was soooo expensive. crazy.

Journalled yesterday ... over on points but not totally horrible. Did give in to stress eating but after a long phone call from severely depressed son I needed some comfort.

Didn't walk as planned ( book containers out to cousin's market garden where they're having 1/2 acre of strawberries all ripening at one time. Last year bears in the garden were a problem so he erected a 10ft high fence ... now it's squirrels pilfering strawberries! LOL!

much later .... clinic suddenly came alive and have been busy right til closing.

Have a great weekend ... hoping to get a good paddle in plus perhaps a bike ride but we have a cougar lurking around -- bugger's feeding on the fawns!! :-( Hate it!!

Hello Dear Team,

Hot, hot and more hot here in Central Ca. Yes, thank G-d for the drip system. The only reason I go out in my garden, is to fill the bird baths and arrange the umbrellas to shade the parts of my garden that are struggling with this heat. Last night we celebrated my DH's birthday at Applebee's. It was a sweet celebration, the grandbabies came, co-gramma, both DDS and D-S-I-L. We had margaritas and the best server ever. We just love his singing. He gave us chips and salsa as a gift. Then it hit me like a wave, migraine, took my 1st go to migraine med. When we got home I rode my bike for almost an hour, but felt very nauseous. A migraine symptom. Took my strongest migraine med. The nausea stopped but my belly was terrible. I think there may have been MSG in the oriental chicken salad or dressing.

All in all, my DH had a great time and that is what it's all about.

Kellie, can you come here and catch and remake my frog/toad, please. I'm glad that your flowers are so pretty.

Dr. Sue, what do indoor cats need the A/C to be when we're gone? I say 78-80, co-gramma says 85, I think that it's harder to cool down an 85 degree house than a 78. But that's a different story altogether. I'm just concerned about my Henry and Livvy getting heat stroke. Greater to see you out riding than indoor, and having a blast.

Lynn, m so sorry it's so cold by you, I'd trade in a heartbeat. When will you go kayaking again and where? e-bay is where I found many needed weight watchers things. Tho, I don't know where anything is now that I moved.

Nicky, wow, your weather is so lovely, that's what I remember best when I lived in the west side. Loved it, should have never left, cos once you do you can never go back. DD2 and I will be there this weekend. I have a memorial service for my BFF from HS's Dad who passed a couple of months ago. It will be in Redondo beach on Sunday, so we will take Saturday to visit Santa Monica beach.

Kathie, love that you and Bob are creating such a wonderful life together. Uh no mention of classical pianist. How awesome, but knowing that you will be creating some of your art is fantastic.

Peg, I'm glad that you went out riding, too. It's 108 here and I'm melting. I have stenosis too. It's in my lower back, arthritis too. It's painful and I do take meds for it at night. I hope that you get some relief soon.

~ sending hugs to my Team, Lori

Good morning, Team! Another beautiful day! Back from biking with ex-hubs. Haven't been out since May so it felt like I was starting all over again. Next up is PT, banking for mom and a trip to my favorite farm stand. Hopefully they will still have strawberries.
NICKY, I, too, was afraid something had happened to SM or NM. Relieved you were just busy. Your Costco trip sounds like a trip to Sam's Club. I've had to train myself to not wander around and look...so many things, so much money...The pool is working fine now, but still a tad too chilly for me. Hoping it warms up soon.
DR SUE, good neighbors are the best and I have some wonderful neighbors. Glad you've been OP. No way could I go into the basement when it's so beautiful outside.
KELLIE, yay on the new garden. I still have to get to some of mine and will probably do that after PT. Pics?
Hi LORI, LYNN, CORINNE and BERYL! Off to shower before PT.

Nicky, good hear from you, I was getting worried that maybe something had happened with SM or NM. Glad you have just been busy. Great on your swim!.

Peg, weather is finally perfect! I hope you will be enjoying you pool and gardens. Sorry about the mower. Good neighbors are a blessing.

Lynn, I hope you are getting some great paddling time in. You deserve it. I'm too am glad you are back with us.

Lori, please stay cool, that heat is miserable and crazy. Thank heavens for the drip system.

Kathie, how lovely. I have to admit that when you started talking about Bob, I thought "oh what about Kathies's beautiful new home?" I'm thrilled that he has come into, and is meshing into your life. A Classical pianist! I'm so so happy for you. Fill us in on him, how you met etc.

Beryl and Corrine, I hope your travels have taken you to magical places. Enjoy and share all of the details!

I am being a bit of a slug this morning. The weather is delicious. I just couldn't trudge to the basement this morning. Tuesday, I got my bike tires pumped up and took a ride. Blissful! Today is going to be hectic. I went from nothing scheduled today, to three procedures and ended yesterday with a heat stroke emergency, that we got stable and will need to work up today. Then installation lunch for the new president of Rotary and PT at three. I finally bought plants Tuesday and I need to get them in the ground. DH leaves for a week in Tx tomorrow. I have very OP on my meals. Lots of healthy salads and farmers market bounty. I feel good. I guess that is something.

I better get moving to begin my chaos. Have a fabulous day!

Beautiful KATHIE, looks like you found one of the few Renaissance men left in this hemisphere!
Looking forward to viewing your next art project. I'll bet it will be light and airy.

PEG, I trust the pool is in good working order now? Gunther and I took our first swim of the season yesterday. Oh, my, it was better than grand.
Only up to 80 this week where I live in West Los Angeles (4 miles from the ocean). LORI lives in I guess what would be called the Central area, and it gets super really hot up there!

I'm still reeling from my Costco adventure today. Haven't been in a while, true, but it was a little over $400!!!!! What some months ago was $300 per trip is now up to $400!!!! I cannot believe I spent that much. Any way, my freezer is now full, and I have plenty of sparkling water and waters to show for it. Will take me awhile to get over this one.

Even though the demands on my time have been epic, I've managed to stay OP and get in some exercise every day. Can't figure out why I haven't dumped any fat, though. I'm not trying to be skinny skinny any more. I just need to shed that extra bit of fat that are vanity pounds.
Oh, well. I'm doing my best.

DRSUE and LORI, I haven't caught up on your posts yet.
LYNN, so good to see you back and posting!

Good morning, Team! Another beautiful day! went to the doc for MRI results. Stenosis in my cervical spine (which matches the stenosis in my lumbar/sacral spine, I guess) Going back to PT and thinking I'll try some acupuncture. Doc offered me some meds, but I just not a meds person if I can get improvement without. So, that's what I'll try. Will make it back to class today; the first in a very long time. Last night my mower conked out in the middle of my yard. had to finish with my neighbor's machine. Repair guy is coming today to pick it up.
KATHIE, sounds great that you'll be starting a new project and having a musician in the house. No, you didn't mention Bob is a classical pianist. You've really not mentioned much at all, except you are happy (YAY!!!), Bob and George G have moved in, he's a classical pianist and you're returning to your art. Sounds pretty wonderful to me!
LYNN, I'm glad you're posting again. Sorry it's been rough. We went through a short patch of brutally hot after a long period of cool and wet, but today and yesterday were/are beautiful! Hope your weather improves. Glad you found the info.
LORI, was listening to Sirius and the DJ mentioned it is a lovely 75 in San Diego, but the northern part of the state will see temps of 110. Oh my...I'm guessing that's where you are.
Hope you and your lovely plants survive.
Hi KELLIE and DR SUE! NICKY, hoping all is well with you. CORINNE and BERYL, if you check in, you have an awesome responsibility to enjoy your trips for us, too.
Wishing all a good day!

Just finished work ... now to do the janitorial then off to buy a bbq chicken because salads are in order. Having some issues with indigestion, or ?chest pains, so need to get at least 10 off if not more. 6 months until Christmas!

Kellie, thanks for the suggestions. have downloaded the app. Found a food companion but it was unbelievably expensive ... there are some on ebay so that may end up being an option.

Ohhh wish it was hot/warmer up here. Still put the furnace on for a few minutes in the morning.

Had a tiring weekend with lots of driving so going to say g'nite and get on with my chores.
Later,

Bon Voyage Beryl & Corrine. Hope your trips are wonderful. Lori, when do you leave for your cruise?

Dr. Sue so glad to hear from you.

Just cruisin' along here. Finally have the studio put back together. I hope we can start the design wall tomorrow but regardless I am starting a new project tomorrow. I am so excited to get working again.

The kitties are getting better. Yes, they yowelled but not for long. Just now George Gershwin & Annie went nose to nose. A big deal since Annie is the first dog GG has ever met.

Bob ordered a stage electronic piano today & we will figure out how to arrange the office to make it work for both of us. The office is just off the studio. Bob will wear headphones for practice but will play for me as well. So excited about this. His grand will not fit in this house but he's really more interested in the electronic. Did I mention that he studied at the conservatory at Oberlin (Ohio) and is a classical pianist. So nice that he'll have his music while I do my thing in the studio.

Beryl is on vacation so I'll announce my dinner. Turkey picadillo stuffed red bell peppers. New recipe. Back to making dinner.

Hello Dear Team,

Yes our Travelers are en route to their beautiful destinations. I think it's funny how they both left on the same day.

Peg, how's the weather today? It's so stinking hot here, my bougainvillea love it, but not all of my plants, they are as covered by umbrellas or sails as much as possible. I can't go out for more than 5 minutes without having to shower when I come back in. Last night we went to DD1's so DH could cool off in the pool. Oh man, I'm just not sure on how he will survive this summer of heat.

Oh Nicky, you hoo? Hi Dr. Sue, hello Kellie.

~hugs, Lori

Good morning Team! Our intrepid travelers are on their way!
Beautiful today after yesterday's storms. Planning to mow once the grass has dried some. Need to go into the garden and tie up the tomatoes and peas and deadhead the peonies. Other than that, a beautiful sunny day!

Wishing a great day to all.

Beryl, I want to wish you a very safe and fun trip! Can't wait to hear all about it. I didn't sleep last night either for the same reason as you! It's not the moon and it's not forever so we just need to get over it.

Still packing and I'm just going through everything methodically. I'll be able to email DS every day so I can't imagine anything I've forgotten that's important. Once we leave for the airport tomorrow I'll let go (of everything). Short version of the Serenity Prayer.

Thanks everyone for all the good wishes! Hope everyone is safe from mother nature.

Talk to you after July 4!

Good afternoon ladies very hot and humid and we are expecting the storms also. I hope they blow through quickly.
Decent visit with my mother. Things went well and I got a 30 minute woggle even though it was way too hot to be outside. She ate very well at lunch and looks good.
Did not sleep at all last night. My anxiety about the preparations got the better of me and my stomach is a mess today. I need to get over myself and not be so anxious about things. We're not going to the moon for goodness sake's!
Hopefully I will get back this evening but if not I want to wish you ladies a wonderful week and I'll be thinking about you and I will check in if I can

Good afternoon, Team!
Hot and humid and waiting for the storms.
DR SUE, I'll look for you in Oz. The potential for these storms is not inviting at all. Not bothering to vacuum the pool as I know a lot of crap will blow into it. Ruby is a hound mix...definitely can hear the hound part, as for the rest...maybe rottie? her head definitely broadened as she grew. I really don't know. I doubt any bat/pet contact. The cats were behind closed doors (as they are every night) and Ruby was downstairs in her crate. I'm sure this guy came in at the attic level and then there's my bedroom.
Safe travels to BERYL and CORINNE! BERYL, hope your mom visit goes well. CORINNE, that which you don't remember to write down for DS, can always be relayed over the phone.
LYNN, good to see you posting again. Someone had mentioned kayaking and I said that I thought you were our paddler. You must have heard me...lol
KELLIE, hope you trained your frog.
LAURA, did you find your info?
A big hello to our CA chicks and KATHIE.

Went to DGS's 7th grade end of year awards this morning. He rec'd a couple...PE (duh) and Home and Careers (f/k/a Home Ec) DD1 said he had loved that class because they prepared food and got to eat lol Also a couple of others, but that one was kind of funny. It was phrased something like "always came to class with enthusiasm"
I can hear distant thunder so I'd better pull the car into the garage.
Wishing a good day to all!

Peg

Hello team! Can't believe I've been home a week and hadn't checked in. I came home to brutal heat and humidity, as you all shared. I feel just like Ruby looked. Peg, I thought Ruby was a Lab, didn't realize she was a closer cousin to Quint. I was hard to get back into my exercise routine, with the heat, a dentist appointment early Thursday, and PT. My wrist is improving.

Beryl and Corrine, you leave tomorrow! Yeah! Have safe travels, and taste the world!

Kathy, I am SOOOO happy for you. Glad your floors are done. I love George G! I bet he's standoffish, he knows he just moved into some girls house, and she might beat the tar out of him if he makes a wrong move. Sammi is training him well.

Lynn, great for you to come back to join us. I'm sorry it's been difficult. I hope you get out paddling a lot. I didn't get out at the lake. The kayaks were not out, not to mention not mine. I had so much other stuff going on, I didn't get around to it.

Laura, welcome! I hope you found the info you needed, Lynn too.

Kellie, I hope your frog learns to stay out of the net.

Peg awesome on getting the bat out unharmed. Any possible contact with your pets? Might need to get a rabies booster. I've had a couple bats in the house here. I prefer to set them free as they are becoming endangered, and do very good work. Both had holes in wings, (Starbuck). One flew off, one didn't. I arrived at work that day with dog, cat and bat in tow. Bat had abdominal wound too. I had to euthanize it and send it out for rabies testing. Neg. sad.

Big hello, Lori, and Nicky-where are you? Anyone I've missed. I have to go get ready for work. Humid here. Huge storms hitting here this evening. Peg, Kingston is on the map for severe weather this afternoon. I might meet you in Oz! Batyon down the shed!

Great day!

Ladies! So much in panic mode right now! I have all this stuff to do and I need to get ready for court tomorrow! Glad I'll be finished in the morning and can come home to pack, pay the last two bills and all the other assorted things I have to do. I know I'm going to be gone only 2 weeks but it feels like it's forever and I have to leave all these instructions for DS.

Thanks for all the early anniversary wishes but it won't be until the 27th. Wow, Beryl! 39 is quite a milestone for you and DH. Hope your visit with your mother is quick and painless.

Lynn, good to see you back. I think you may be able to find PP info online. Do a search and you may find what you're looking for.

Will try to post tomorrow but if I don't will keep in touch through Facebook. Don't know how to download pictures here but I can through Facebook.

Good day. Brunch with everyone then winery with DH and PB and then dinner with DH. Driving to the beach tomorrow for a quick visit with my mother before we leave. She has a 9:45 neurologist appointment so hoping to be down early so I can leave early. She does play cards tomorrow afternoon so hopefully that's my out!

Hi Lynn, Try Amazon or Ebay - I did a quick search and saw it on Amazon! They always carry past books and look at skinnytaste.com - all the recipes reference most point programs or provide the items where you can calculate it.

itrack bites is an App for your phone - you can track in pointplus or set it to a plan you like from Weight watchers - they have all the guides you can buy cheaply that connects to this app

Hello Dear Team,

Welcome Laura, look at our links and see if there is anything that would be helpful to you.

Hey Lynn, we were just talking about you, the kayaking. I'm glad to hear from you. Excellent, on the weight loss.

Peg, it's hot, hot and hot here too. Way too draining. Enjoy your books. My snap dragons get these black spots and make them gross. Your flowers are so beautiful.

Kathie, awesome, sounds wonderful. Love you much.

Beryl, two days, wow, so exciting a bit stressful too.

Corrine, two for you too, wow.

Kellie, thanks for saving the frog, how sweet.

Hello Dr. sue and Nicky.

Hello Ladies ... sorry I haven't been posting for absolute ages. Life has been challenging to say the least, plus have had a lot of company.

Haven't been very successful at journaling or exercising for the past month.

But what I have been looking for, without success, is the Food Companion/guide for the Points Plus system. I have the Dining Out guide, as well as the "WW Points Plus Getting Started" booklet. Loaned (which I never do!) out my food companion with all the foods and their points values listed, and now that person says I didn't lend it to her. :-(

IF anyone has a food guide, I'm wondering if I could borrow it. If you could mail it to me, I'll photocopy it, then mail it right back to you. It'll take a few extra cents to mail to Canada but I'll reimburse you the postage.

Have the Points Plus calculator so that's why I'm wanting to follow that plan. Have tried looking up the points on line but can't find them for that specific plan. 90% of our meals are made from scratch so the guide would really be helpful.

June 18th: halfway thru the year my progress towards my wt loss goals isn't near where it should be. So re-committing Goals for 2017 ... Journal, 8 water, daily exercise and make choices that'll result in weight loss and all the health benefits that'll come from that.

Was down 10 pounds but with the company etc 3 to 5 have come back. My friend who's been visiting for 3 weeks doesn't really walk etc that hasn't helped. Hoping to get out for a bit of a paddle today (kayak in a lake) so hopefull will begin "recovery".

Breakfast time ... then on with the day.

Thought of you this morning,BERYL. Came downstairs to find ants running amok in my kitchen. Vacuumed and sprayed and all is quiet for the time being. Knew they'd be around; seems like whenever we a period of warmth and humidity, they rear their ugly little pinheads...lol
30 and 39 years! Shame on your mother, BERYL. Ex-hubs and I made it to about 25...

Good morning, Team...gray, overcast, humid! Not pleasant at all.
KATHIE, sounds like NC has been "very very good to you" (popping back into old SNL with Garrett Morris) I, too, smile when I read your posts. You are our lesson that no matter how bad things get (and they can get pretty bad) and we can't seem to see our way clear, if we just keep moving forward, there will be changes. George G is very cute. Have they started the howling stage yet? Oh, how I remember that. Weeding, oh how I hate thee! Yet, I am trying the reframing trick and viewing it as a chance to visit and catch up with my plants.
TWO DAYS, BERYL and CORINNE!!!!! I am so looking forward to vacationing with you (in spirit, of course).
KELLIE, after finding the frog twice on the rim of the pool (how did he get up there?), he hasn't been back. Hope that means he found someplace new and not that someone got him. Came across a little dead garter snake in the garden. Strange.
A big hello to all and I hope you're doing well. I may not like this weather, but the plants do. Look how happy my goatsbeard and spiderwort are...

Corinne, Congrats on the 30 year anniversary!! Love it! Can't wait to hear more about your vacation

Kathie, I love the kitty - adorable. It takes a little bit for them all to get used to each other. I agree with what you said about simply filling! They've had so many programs and changes over the years, hard to keep them all straight. Thrilled for you and bob!!! Great work on the weight loss and dress sizes. Like you said, when things are balanced in life, the weight management is easier.

Beryl, I was to San Juan several years ago - a beautiful place! You will enjoy!

Peg, Bats!! Wow, glad you got them out.. I'm sorry about Dear Mom! I'm so glad that she has help.

Lori, awesome work on the APs. We need a bike tooo

--

Wow, the weather has been hot and overcast (rainy)! Went to the farmer's market yesterday - got some lovely plants, a butterfly plant mix to attract them in the garden and some additional perennials. I am building out a small area next to my pond. I came out yesterday and the little frog was stuck in the net like head first. I got him out. He was too mellow and did not mind me taking him to the lower netted pond. I don't think they are trainable! He did this last week with half the next exposed to the pond, so he could have just jumped in. The poor little thing. I am attached to him. He's out everyday.

Mom's car would not start yesterday and did not have AAA so I just ordered that for her. In the old days, they relied on the service station up the street -- hahaha -- but they all close at a time, did not follow the logic, but feel safer they have it now.

Just hit a good sale at Loft. almost got in the 6 - haa they were big, but holding here at 8/10. Been wearing my fitted pants to work and dressing up more. If you like Loft, all is an extra 40% off in their sale area

Getting wash folded, and organized for the week. Might go see mom and dad. We were going to go to lunch, but the rain and dad's wheel chair is not a good mix - have a great sunday

Kathy, my DD was selected to do a study at the Athens Library in Greece for 5 weeks so DH and I took it as an omen to join her there for our 30th anniversary. It's always been on our bucket list and I'm big on "omens." :) We leave next Tuesday like Beryl and we'll be gone for two weeks. We have Athens with our DD for 3 days and then DH and I will do an Island Tour in Mykonos and Santorini. DS will take care of the house and go to Comiccon in Denver the end of June for a 3 day weekend.

I'm so happy to hear about your relationship! I smile every time I read your posts. So delighted to hear you're making one household; pets and all. A new blended family!

Peg, you are a wonder woman in your garden. I hate weeding so much which is why I grow nothing! Sorry the pool is still not able to be used yet. Congrats on the weight loss!

Beryl, our connecting flight is going to be in Philadelphia. Wouldn't it be funny if we were at the airport at the same time? Good job on weight loss. You and Peg are rocking it.

WW has had points for a long time now. I think Kathy is right about it being exchanges before that.

Where's the rest of our team? Dr. Sue, Nicky, Kellie?

Off to my last early morning workout at PF before DH and family wake up. Have a good Sunday.

Corinne

Peg, how fun to find baby snaps. I loved growing them when I had a real garden. We just got clobbered with a much needed thunderstorm. Its been dry so tomorrow I get a break from watering. I fear tomorrow I must help weed the beans and tomatoes in Bob's garden. Hate weeding but love the veggies.

Laura, I'm sorry but my memory is shot. I was a leader before points and it was something like 2 milks, 2 fruits 2 breads, 3 proteins and 2 fats. And I think some kind of optional something. Honestly if you want a great WW program check out Simply Filling. It works!

Beryl, when are you going to San Juan. Will you take me along? DH is right. I bet you can do a cocktail tour on your own--just the two of you and so much more romantic. San Juan is very romantic.

Corrine, are you going to have a vacation? I really need to catch up with what everyone is doing.

This is George Gershwin. (I can't make the photo turn right) He moved in today. He and Sammi are doing the "Tony & Maria" looks across the room. Will fill y'all in on the details but yes Bob & I are essentially living together now and it made sense to bring his cat here. Sammi is quite interested but George Gershwin is playing hard to get. We thought it would be the other way but we are not cats I guess we just don't know

Sorry, Laura. I don't remember it. LORI seems o be our resident expert on all things WW or maybe CORINNE.
Humid, humid, humid! "Visited" with my plants in one of the perennial beds I had yet to touch this year. (Yes, that's "weeding" reframed lol) Found quite a few little plants that had been reseeded from last years plants in among the weeds. I carefully weeded around them. Had just been thinking that I had forgotten to get some snapdragons, but there are about 20 little ones coming up on their own. I was really happy to see all the babies. When I finished, I looked like a little kid who had been out to play...covered with dirt from head to toe. Just took a shower and it feels wonderful! Did some pool cleaning, too. And now I'm, torturing myself by watching the Yankees.
BERYL, too bad you're having to travel during commuting time. Which airport? Enjoy tonight and tomorrow. Will probably read (picked up 2 Lincoln Child books from the library) but the pool is not ready. Maybe even some more dirt therapy and getting to know what else is hiding in the gardens... Good on the loss.
I've been pretty good at staying OP on this yet another attempt. Down a total of almost 5 pounds from my most recent "high" number. Think I'll ever learn?
Wishing all a good evening!

Happy Saturday team! Drizzly with blue sky and humid. Totally schizophrenic!
Peg, a nice day to just chill sounds lovely. Maybe just sitting by the pool and reading?
Corinne, enjoy the food. Sounds delicious. I cannot stay away from chips. Total achilles heel for me. Down .4 this week so happy for that.
Did killer step this morning, ran errands.
Kids probably taking us out to a local place we really like tomorrow. We like it so much we're going there with friends tonight. lol. All good.
Just worried about getting into Philly on Tuesday. We;ll take the local train but we'll have suitcases and it's rush hour. UGH.
Researched tours in San Juan and found a cocktail tour that looked fun, but as DH said, we can do that on our own for a LOT less money. And we usually do. lol
Kathie, you sound so joyful. It makes me so happy when I see you've posted.
Waving hi to Lori, DrSue, Kellie, and Nicky. Nicky, what's going on??? I'm worried.
Have a good day all

Good morning, Team! gray and cool and everything is wet.
No, CORINNE, no pool as the water hasn't warmed enough. Those brutally hot days helped, but now it's been cooler and it is not heated.
KATHIE, glad to hear all is well and that projects can be done "in house" instead of hiring out. Wonderful to be able to be with someone who is supportive and helpful, too. Congrats on the dropped sizes and weight. How are Annie and Sam doing?
BERYL, I agree, that family is so brave. I hope it all goes well for them here. Thank you for helping them.
LORI, it is such a pain to wait for and then hang out with workers for so long. It's always a balance between staying out of their way and watching what they do. (I'm always curious and love watching people who are good at what they do) How is Will doing?
NICKY, DR SUE and KELLIE, a big hello.

No plans for FD...not anything that requires my involvement. DD1 and family are on Long Island for the tournament. DD2 may be working, but in any event, nothing about which I need to concern myself.
Can't believe It's nearly time for BERYL and CORINNE to leave on their vacays! Enjoy! Enjoy! Enjoy!

Happy Saturday!

Will be going to work my last WW meeting for a couple of weeks. It will be nice to have the break. Closed my office and now tackling the list at home.

Had a goodbye dinner with my mom and sister yesterday which was really nice. Pueblo was 99 degrees yesterday so thank goodness the A/C in my car works really well!

Sunday we'll take DH to his favorite Mexican restaurant. They have really good crab/shrimp enchiladas which I love. Now if I can stay away from the flour tortilla chips!

Kathy, it's so nice to hear things are going well for you! I'm glad your new partner is supportive and helpful. You deserve the happiness and you waited a long time for it. I will definitely look for the cauliflower crust. I need to start spiralizing my vegetables to replace pasta. I've used the skinny pasta from WW and I like it. Doesn't have that fishy smell that shiritaki noodles have.

Beryl, what a nice experience you had with that woman! I don't know if I could be that brave either. How's your list coming along? Loved your nails! So feminine and elegant! I have stubs.

Peg, so glad the guys finally showed up to fix your pool. Will you be in it this weekend?

Lori, is the alarm finally working the way you want it? So annoying to have to be trapped while you're getting something fixed. How's your grandson doing? Are you getting any relief from the heat? We're very hot here! 90's and above but at least it's dry. I'm going to melt in Athens!

Hello to Kellie, Dr. Sue and Nicky.

Good afternoon Team.

Beryl, What a wonderful experience with the Afghan woman. She and her family are very brave. I hope they find peace safety & welcome here. I have done step & sculpt a few times. Its brutal. I do an interval class on Monday and last week we did 4/4. I thought my arms would fall off but I stuck with me 7# weights. Wed we do strength and alternate between upper & lower body. We warm up with floor aerobics and keep our heart rates in the training zone. Friday is just step with no weights & its a break. (Tues/Thurs I do a 1 hr. free dance to loosen up from the weight work. But it works. I am down a couple clothing sizes and down another 2.5# at WI (6 weeks since my last WI).

Lorie, so happy to hear you are riding your bike again. When is your cruise? Nice that the Applebee's manager comped your meals. I tend to avoid chain restaurants because of my extreme sensitivity to food preservatives. The drinks and the romantic bar scene sound nice. emoticon

Peg, so glad the pool guys were able to work their magic. That must have been a scare with your mom.

Kellie, that was a scare with Tom. Glad he is OK. I agree that trying new recipes and new foods helps make it easy to stay OP. I have really embraced spiralized veggies and really prefer them to pasta. Rutabaga. Who knew?

Corrine, if you like TJ's cauliflower rice be sure to check out their cauliflower pizza crust--no fat, no sugar, essentially just cauliflower. And its very good.

Hi DrSue & Nicky.

Things are good here. Still putting things back after the floor installation. I am making some changes (improvements) in the studio and that's taking some time but its getting done. Bob is very supportive of my art and is helping me with the things I used to have to hire someone to do. Today we repainted some shelves I used to support my high pressing table and we actually had fun doing it together.

Promise I will get back into the habit of posting. I tend to read your posts first thing in the morning but then I'm in a hurry to get to the gym because my classes are at 8. The Y is only 5 minutes away and its a lovely facility but the classes I like best are only offered early. Of course working out early has a lot of benefits.

Good afternoon team. A/c back on. Stuffy outside. No air and humid. Yuck.
The young woman was lovely. Just as sweet and precious as could be. Not a huge problem understanding her. I was floored to learn she knew NO ENGLISH 90 days ago when they came. Unbelievable. I told her how brave I thought she was to leave her family and come wiht her husband and 2 small children where she knew no one nor could she even communicate. I know I'm not that brave, and it makes me feel even more for her that I can't imagine what she had to leave to get away from. Very brave people.
Did a lot today! OMG, that class!! Step for 15 minutes, then 5 with weights. ON THE STEP. Like lunges with bicep curls. Or squats with tricep whatevers. It was hard! But got every body part done.
Ulta (that was just ugly), the bank, paid bills, looked up Amtrak (I think we'll use the local rail), got paperwork together...just lots of stuff. I know Corinne is doing exactly the same thing!
Lori, what a pain to have to be stuck in the house! Did you have a good book at least?
Peg I'm so sorry your mom was so frightened. I'm going to run down there Monday morning to see mine before I leave.
Any plans for Sunday/Father's Day team? All my kids are coming in. I'm waiting to hear what they say.....might wait till Mother's Day for that one! lol
Yes, Peg--WATCH IT!! You won't be sorry.
Have a good day ladies

Hello Dear Team,

Peg, thank you splaing that to me. It is good that I do not have a 100+ year old house CSS that would just be way too much for me to endure. What I find interesting isyour mom did not say call 911, the police, the sheriff but the state police. You are right, never a dull moment with Mom. It's hot here. ADT came around 3 and did not leave till around 10. I was stuck in my house because if I exited it would throw the alarm off, Oy Vais mere. I have my gynecologist appointment today, then Emmy has a recital tonight at 6:00.

Beryl, I agree, somewhat, with you about Applebee's. but some of their food is good and their drinks are great. I hope you enjoy your time with this lady and are able to communicate well.
Three hours is a long time to exercise. I rode my bike almost one hour yesterday.

I hope all of my Team is well, cool and happy, ~hugs, Lori

Good afternoon, Team! Slept in rather late because of getting only 2 hours sleep the night before and then went for the cervical MRI. Last night the pool guys showed up, worked their magic and now the filter seems fine. May finally be able to get this show on the road! Rainy off and on today (no garden/yard work) and cooler.
BERYL, I really like Thai food and will sometimes cook some "Thai-ish" meals. When exactly do you leave on your cruise? There isn't anything that can get me excited about cleaning (and if you were to stop in at my house, you would know that is the truth). Now, having a cleaner? That, I could enjoy! Haven't watched Little Big Lies, but every time I see an ad for it, I think I should. Maybe I'll hit on demand and then we can talk.
Wishing everyone a great day!

May I just share that when visiting mom, she had to use the bathroom and a couple of aides assisted her. Next thing, I hear yelling from the bathroom "PEG! CALL THE STATE POLICE! I NEED THE STATE POLICE!" Never a dull moment...

Good evening ladies. Hope everyone had a good day.
Class is done (face to face anyway!). They have their final papers to hand in, and a group project due online that's very easy and self explanatory. YAY!!
Going to take a young Afghanistan refugee mom to Walgreens tomorrow to stock her medicine chest. Some local organizations are sponsoring the family and I went to a training months ago and never heard. I did now, so I'm tking her tomorrow. Looking forward to it.
Peg, it wasn't three COMPLETE classes, so the reporting isn't valid yet. 3 hour long classes?? Yes! Tomorrow is something new called step and sculpt. We'll see how hideous that is. I mean, step is bad enough!! lol
Lori, I've never been an Applebees fan. There just isn't that much for me to eat there. I do think their drinks look wonderful! Got take out tonight at my new favorite Thai place. Their Tom Yum soup is the best I've ever had. REALLY spicy but not numbing. Just really good. So excited. I wish cleaning excited me as much as food does.
Tomorrow is a mani, the market, step class, taking the lady to Walgreens, the bank.....we'll see what else I can cross off my list. I need to put things together--start at least. I hate that I work best under pressure.
Then the kids are all coming in on Sunday, so what to do? Lunch. Out won't work probably, since there will be 9 of us on Father's Day. So maybe bring in? We'll see. I do want to run down and see my mother before we go, so maybe Monday.
Did anyone see Big Little Lies on HBO?? If so, we must discuss.

LORI, there are screens on all the windows. Bats are like mice, they only need the smallest opening to get in and this is an old (100+ years) house and nothing is air tight. Also, this is June and the juveniles are out and flying. As the Pestmaster guy said when I called him one year...juveniles are stupid and they don't know where they're going. Anyway, caught the bat in the net, pushed up the screen and flipped him out of the net through the open window. Then I shut everything up. Now I need to go into the attic and see where it got in. Glad you enjoyed your Applebee's drink. nice that the dinners were taken off the bill. Congrats on the 15 miles.
BERYL, three classes at the Y???? I may have to report you (don't know who, but I'm turning you in, sister!)
Saw mom today, all's ok.

Oh no, yuck, and how frightening, Peg, a bat in your bedroom. Don't you have screens on the windows? How the heck did it get into your house? I would be freaking out, royally. I'm sorry that those pool guys didn't show and caused you to miss the concert, and that the Yankees lost again.

Beryl, I see, I wish they had their first date at a Applebee's or some other big chain restaurant, but knowing your DS, with him being a chef, and all, of course their first date had to be at a phenomenal place. Speaking of Applebee's, my DH and I went last night. We sat at the bar, I think it's more romantic, cos we can entangle our legs and get real close. We ordered a strawberry margarita, it was so delicious, it's name was the perfect margarita, we asked why, she said cos it's twice the size. They gave us two martini glasses and it was enjoyable. The food not so much. I saw the manager walked no near us and I said, I wouldn't recommend this dish. He said he agreed, but he also said that he already took my dinner and my DH's dinner off the bill cos it took so long. Wow, we paid only for the margarita and tip. We didn't notice it taking too long cos we did crossword puzzles together, while we waited.

Corrine, I, too, do my bills like Peg, however some do trickle in as, not so nice surprises, like the supplemental tax bill, just a measly $1700+, paid half now and half in November, yikes.

Kellie, I hope Tom is doing better, ouch, sorry about the Kate ER trip.

Hello Dr. Sue, Nicky and Kathie. It's gonna be another hot day. We used our A/C just for an hour last night so DH could sleep. The second it dropped to 78, I put the fans in the windows.
Oh, and I did a 15 mile bike ride on my stationary bike too.

~hugs, Lori

Hi to my team! Sunny and nice but tomorrow returns to humidity and heat
Didn't see the new Y schedule so got there in time for 30 minutes if tabata/HIIT. (Lucky me!) then did muscle pump and barre. Not Pilates that was the second part of the barre class
Peg I agree it's time to get new pool guys
Kellie you were smart to get Tom checked out
Class tonight. Last one--just their presentations!!

Good morning Team. And now we have see-sawed back to cloudy and cool. I cannot keep up. Went to the gym after another night of staying up too late to 1) watch the Yankees lose 2) read and 3) remove the bat who thought it would be great fun to do laps around my bedroom at 2:30. I am beat.
CORINNE, I have most of my bills on autopay. My pension is direct deposited and my bills are paid. Don't have to think about or worry that I will forget something.
KELLIE, glad you're figuring out how to avoid the drama. Hope Tom feels better.
Wishing all a good day!

HI ladies, it was a busy day yesterday. Work was good and Tom went to the Phillies game. I have wanted to look into Toastmasters. Have you ever heard of that organization? They help you feel more comfortable and teach you public speaking. It was a fun, inspiring and a terrifying experience Ė lol. The people were very supportive and I learned a lot. Then when I got home saw what tom had a fluid bubble on his elbow Ė I was worried that it got infected, so I took him to the ER at 11:30 pm. We got home like 1 Ė going to be a long day. Heís fine, just bursa. Glad to check it out.

Corinne, I love to cook and eat. I find I stay motivated to be OP when I have something new to try. I donít do it every day and have staples, but I enjoy the experience. Before weight watchers, I was limited on what I knew and now I am a more confident cook.

Beryl, hope you meeting was productive with the manager. Love my lists, just can't misplace them - lol.

Peg, Oh I am sorry about the pool. They will figure it out.

Lori, Your trip sounds awesome Ė great stuff. Love the new drip system. I need that. I have planted drought & deer tolerant flowers to help. Your garden is so amazing. Work is work, always deadlines and schedules with what I do. It can be political, but I donít get involved in the drama (Usually sales team stuff/commissions fueled I think). Iím learning how to deal/push back/draw & define boundaries. Itís a good challenge. Iím pretty mellow.
Have a great day! Kellie

Peg, so sorry about the unreliable pool boys. I get really aggravated by people who don't show up when they're being paid to do so. Hope you can find someone you can count on.

Beryl, I seem to be adding things on my lists as well. My main concern is getting all the bills paid before we go but they trickle in on their own time. Some come 3 weeks ahead and others only 10 days or so which is not good since we don't return until the 4th.

My cousin's husband offered my DS a 3 day pass to Comicon in Denver at the end of the month. This is one of his passions so he was thrilled. He'll be helping him out at the convention and DS should be able to meet a lot of the people there. He's so excited. I think DSS is going to let him stay with him so he won't have to worry about hotels. DS is proud he's a geek just like Big Bang Theory! I'm happy he'll be able to experience this while we're gone.

Lori, your cruise sounds great and it's so nice that your DB includes you. We had cauliflower rice last night with parmesan tilapia. It was very good. I'll have to check it out next time I go to Trader Joe's in Springs.

Today is going to be another busy day and hot.

BERYL, I wish they were like cabana boys. No, none of these are hot or even lukewarm... and no, they didn't show. I waited here until I knew they wouldn't come and then it was too late to go to the facility. I'm "starting" to get annoyed. Will have to research some other pool people, I guess.

LORI, I never went to the Y to swim. I know someone on this team did, but I have to admit that I don't remember who.

Hello Dear Team,

Corinne we probably have at least 10 bags of frozen riced cauliflower in our freezer, we love it too. We get it at a Trader Joe's. Our cruise will be a 7 night Eastern Caribbean, Disney on the Fantasy. We were so excited to be invited, once again, by my brother and S-I-L.

Beryl, I know you like fancy, but it's a rehearsal dinner, why can it not be casual and easier on the wallet? We did BJ's on the patio, it was low key and lovely. I would think that what ever you plan on paying for a fancy dinner, your sn would prefer that money going toward his honeymoon. Just a thought.

Kellie, you are so scheduled, when you work. I loved hearing of your staycation, you were so peaceful. It seems as if this job is way stressful. We saw a movie, this weekend, called Miss Sloan, she is a Lobbyist. Even though you have a different job, I thought of you, during the whole movie. I do hope that your job is Not that intense.

Peg, I'm sorry about your pool. Do you still go to the Y to swim? I could go to my DD1's for that, and may during the summer heat. I'm sorry that the Yankees lost. We were watching America's Got Talent, DH sleep alarm went off, but he said one more, so we watched on more, it was a silly flop, I asked was it with it? He gets up at 2:10am, he said nope.

Well our cool weather is over. We are now in the 90's+, and soon will be in the 100's, I will be a hermit in my home. Now that I have the drip system in working order I don't even have to go in my garden, except to fill the bird feeders.

~hugs to my team, Lori

Called our SPCA yesterday to see if they would take the kidney friendly prescript food that Melinda won't eat (canned and 2 open bags of dry). Their response...absolutely! Dropped that off today after checking with the pool guys on their ETA. Also did a couple of errands. I want to be at the facility tonight because there is an outdoor concert that I'd love mom to hear. All depends on the timing of the pool guys.
BERYL, we had some strong thunderstorms last night which is why we're having a break in the weather. Much lower humidity, but it's in the 80s this afternoon. Tomorrow, 70s. Good luck with the rehearsal dinner arrangements.

Don't think I'll be in the pool any time soon. Filter is still not right, not as powerful and can barely pull the floating debris into the skimmer. Told you this would be a PITA pool year. lol

Stayed up too late last night to watch the Yankees lose in extra innings and now I'm dragging. They're in L.A. so the game doesn't start until 10:00 p.m. eastern time.

Good morning team! The only break we got today is that the sun is not out yet and we've had some thunder on and off. Still hot and humid though.
Corrine, I feel so good crossing things off my list! Until they are two things to add onto it for everyone I cross off. LOL
Peg, I hope you can use the pool soon since it's so hot out. I'm sure it will be nice to just jump in there when it's so hot
Just finished Zumba and going to shower and change. Driving down to Columbia to meet eldest DD for lunch and to talk with the banquet manager at the restaurant for the rehearsal dinner. Hoping we can work something out
Have a great day ladies!

Good Morning Team!

Still working on my lists and making new ones. We're getting a little break from the heat which I'm grateful for since it makes running around more bearable. Peg, I feel like Ruby in the heat!

What a great NSV for you to pass up ice cream! This time of year that's not an easy task. I'm still on a grape kick and those manage to satisfy me for an after dinner snack. No matter how much I have for dinner, I still want a snack. I'm also on a cauliflower rice kick. Just discovered it recently and I can't get enough!

Kellie, you and Beryl always cook such delicious sounding things. I tend to make the same things over and over. My motivation to be adventurous in cooking is gone. Too many other things in the way.

Beryl, how are your lists coming? I had to laugh when you said you put yourself on the list too. Your little Jo is such a beauty! She looks like such a happy little girl. I'll bet she loves the time she spends with you!

Lori, poor Will! He's been sick for a while now. Are they giving him anything stronger? I'm glad you're getting a break from the heat so you can do your beloved gardening. Where is your cruise going to be in 3 months? That's a good time of year to travel.

Dr. Sue, are you back at work? How are the new employees working out?

Hello to Nicky and Kathy.

Hi Ladies, you all are sweet - thanks for the compliment about my pic! The meeting seemed to go ok. A little out of my element, but that's ok. It's good to learn.

Hi Peg, it was a spicy chicken recipe where you put everything in a pan, veggies and all - then you bake! It called for onion soup...I think that did it.

Hi Kathie, Yes, the floors really stink !! How amazing when they are done. Art is such an outlet for me as well. Hope you can get back to your studio soon.

Hi Beryl, you are sweet - thanks :) I hear you - I have nights like that too.

Hi Corrine, on no with the driver's license - I've been there. I like lists too - I have a special paper list I like

Hi Lori, I am with you on the not ripe fruit! Yuck

Hey, it's night and I am about to make dinner. Good week so far and I am looking forward to making pepper, onion and sausage stir fry for dinner!!

Trying to clean up and get organized - have a great night! Kellie!

Hello Dear Team,

Yes, Kellie and Kathie's pictures are fabulous and gorgeous. I also, looked at Peg's picture with DD and DGS, you're so beautiful too, your daughter looks just like you.

Today should be another nice day. I think the high will be in the low 80's, then we go up to triple digits, yuck. I, too, second Peg, stay hydrated.

Last night while cycling and watching my 600 pound life, I decided that I will have no carbs and after 9:00 pm. I did have some cherries and an apricot. They were both nasty, too ripe, yuck. It's my 9:00 medication that makes me want to eat and it's a constant battle, not to.

Will is still sick, he and Emmy are coming over today for 3 hours. I enjoyed visiting them and my DD1 yesterday. I took some plant food, for her blueberries and lime tree. We enjoyed each other's company.

As you talk of your lists, I realize only 3 more months till we cruise again. I'm excited for Corrine and Beryl. I love both of your upcoming vacations.

Peg, from the pictures, your land looks like acres. I'm glad, for your sake, it's not, when it's time to mow. Poor Ruby, way too hot. M babies lay on the cold tile, when they are hot.

Beryl, when Will was 2, oh my. I couldn't stand to be alone with him. He had a terrible tantrum phase. Thank G-d, that phase is over with.

Kathie, when you have a chance, we'd love to see your completed sunroom.

~Wishing my Team a wonderful Tuesday, Lori

Good morning, Team! and it's another hot one! Made cold brewed coffee overnight and just filtered it into a pitcher and it's now chilling in the refrig. No way I'm drinking hot coffee in these temps. Trying to talk myself into setting up the vac in the pool. Filled the feeders this morning and I was sweating after and that certainly is not hard work worthy of perspiration. I'm not anxious to go back out there and do anything. Most of the gardens still look pretty good so I'm not worried about weeding. However, I do have some stuff to plant. maybe tomorrow when temps are only supposed to be in the high 70s.
CORINNE, I, too, have been pretty OP because of the heat. Heard HaagenDazs calling my name as I drove past the store last night, but instead had the following conversation with myself...Why do you want it? because it's hot and I want something cold and sweet. But you have frozen dark sweet cherries in the freezer. That works. So that's what I did. Came home and had a dish of frozen cherries and it satisfied. Yes, DGS is my only grandchild. I find my memory (and concentration) suffer when it is very hot. So...there you go.
BERYL, I would add "silly stuff", too, so I could cross them off. I also would think it's not like I'm leaving civilization and I can certainly get what I need or a suitable substitute. Hope your motivation finds you.
Read a garden blog which helped me reframe the chore of weeding. This gardener says she enjoys weeding because it allows her to get up close to the plants or seeds she's put in and check on them. Will try to look at it that way, like visiting my little guys, instead of having to yank out those D#$& weeds lol
Wishing all a good day! Those who are experiencing unusual heat, take care, stay cool and stay hydrated!!!!

Good hot, sunny Tuesday folks!
I'm on my lists Corinne! Knocked off 2 things I needed to print at work. I even put stupid stuff on it so I feel good when I cross them off. lol
I also figure we're not going to the middle of nowhere. Pretty much things will be available in civilization if we forget anything.
Trying to get myself together to get out of here very early. Not motivated yet.

Good Morning Team!

Yesterday was a crazy, busy day. Hearings in the morning and afternoon and to top it off I made it back home, so happy to be through for the day when I realized I still had the hospital's visitor's badge and they had my driver's license. Had to go back in 97 degree heat to pick it up. Have never done that before! I become even more forgetful (if that's possible) when I'm stressed.

Beryl, my lists keep growing and I don't feel like I'm checking many things off! Today after WW I'm paying bills, etc. to feel like I'm accomplishing something. Will need to make a list for DS as well so he can take care of the house, lawn, etc. Time seems to be going at warp speed right now.

Lori, glad you're getting a break from the heat. Sounds like Peg is not and neither are we. I can't imagine doing any outside activity in this heat so it's amazing to me that Peg's DGS can play at all!

Good news is I'm not eating through all this stress. Too hot, I'm too busy and too much anxiety.

Beryl, I remember the terrific two's! Taking both kids to the grocery store was an adventure. I had one who put things in my basket and the other took things out. Loved your picture on Facebook.

Peg, loved yours too with your DGS. Is he your only grandchild?

Off to get ready and meet my friend for an hour walk before WW. Have a good day. Hope I'm productive. We leave one week from today! Yikes!!!

Corinne

Good evening, Team!
Back from the game; they lost. Very hot and they just didn't have their usual spark. This weekend they participate in a tournament on Long Island. Luckily, the temps are supposed to drop. No, I will not be going to Long Island. DD1 and family will go down early so they can spend sometime at Jones Beach.
LORI, even though it takes me a long time to mow, I do not have acres, just a largish city lot, probably about 1/3 of an acre all total. I'm glad you're enjoying the cooler temps and that your plants and decor survived the storm.
BERYL, I remember "the twos" (and then "the threes" and "fours" and on and on). Each age seemed to have it's own "fun times".
KATHIE and KELLIE, both of your new pics are great!

When I got home from the game, the new robo vac was on the porch. Guess I'll give that a try tomorrow.
Hope everyone has a great night!

Good evening team. Loooong day!
Kathie, speaking of gorgeous--that picture of you is spectacular! I'm so sorry for all the stress.
Peg, the heat is awful. Supposed to be better on Thursday. I hate that now. I agree with the getting old stuff. I look at my saggy crepey skin and am appalled. Who is that old lady?? Will DGS season be over any time soon?? Silly question!
Kellie, how did the meeting go? I agree--you're adorable!
Nurses meeting. Thought I'd slit my wrists, but managed to keep my mouth shut for most of it. No point to anything else. Hit the dermatologist at lunch, then went to the Y for the ellipticals after school, then showered and went to WF. Ari was horrible! Just not listening, running--being a 2 year old!!
Lori, glad you're getting a break in both the weather and the working. Rest up!
Made a list for what needs to be done before we leave. Lists make me feel less anxious. Of course, I was up from 2-3 last night. Finally gave up and read.
Off to eat dinner.
Have a wonderful night ladies

Just another quick post.

Kellie, love your photo. You are gorgeous.

Beryl, you look lovely at the shower.

OK - floors are done and I LOVE them but the house is in total disarray. It was 4 days of punishing noise and/or horrible odors but worth it. I boarded Annie & Sammi at the vet to spare them the distress and they seem to have handled it fine. But right now its stressful because I have other things that need to be done and I can't get to putting the house in order. And I desperately want to get to my studio. Maybe this longing to work is a good thing.

Been nibbling on crackers and cheese rather than real meals. I am up a pound and need to weigh on Wed. I have to go to lunch tomorrow with friend who do not choose healthy places to eat so I'm in a twit about that.

I just need a break from "stuff". But generally life if good & I will be back on board the board when things finally settle down.

Hello Dear Team,

Our weather, for the last two days, plus today is absolutely beautiful. It's in the 70's, what a refreshing break. Butttttttttttttt, last night we had the dark clouds roll in, then Thunder then a terrible wind blew so hard, we had to take down all hanging plants and decor. I shut the drip system off too. That was CrAzY.

Beryl, I just looked at your shower pictures, well to be exact, your DPB's shower. You are beautiful as usual. When we had our rehearsal dinner, 16+ years ago, my brother hosted it. We had all the people that were in the wedding, involved in some way and DH's family who were attending the wedding and my BFF and her DH. It was a lot, and to tell you the truth, I remember that day as fondly as our wedding day. I was on a high like no other. I was also getting a nasty cold, boo, that almost ruined our Jamaican honeymoon.

Peg, OMG, that heat and you survived. I'm sure it was an amazing feeling to shower afterwards. How exciting was that home run, I'm so glad that you were here to see it. When you mow, do you mow the acres around your home? Yikes.

Kellie, I hope the meeting went well. So sorry about the spicy chicken, my DH loves that stuff, I can't eat it.

Today will be a chill day. Clean up from the weekend and do some errands. Maybe I'll dye some of my many grays.

~hugs, Lori

Good morning Team! Not to hot yet, but temps are climbing. Went to the gym and we had to work downstairs instead of our usual spot upstairs because it was stifling up there. Worked out well, did some different things. Now home, enjoying my breakfast shake and making cold brewed coffee. Way too hot for regular. Not much on the agenda for today; still wiped out from yesterday. As my Nanna used to say "getting old is not for the weak" lol Thinking the warranty ends at 60 and then we're just on our own. Tonight DGS has a game and of course, I'll be there. Pool has cleared up, now just waiting for the robovac. Filter still not 100%, but usable.
KELLIE, I love spicy food. What was in the recipe? Hope the meeting goes well.
Wishing all a good day!

Peg, you are such a committed fan. Tom loves the Phillies and will periodically have games like that - I am just miserable! I don't go much

Beryl, who is getting married? Your son? You look great in those photos

Corrine, Lancaster is nice! It's beautiful this time of year and fall. I don't go there often and just to get flowers.

Lori, the security and Internet people make me batty - glad you were able to get out and garden.
---------
It's Monday and a trip to the city for a meeting. So now I don't report to the team I'll sit solo in the back. I feel a little like we broke up ! I had 80000 steps last week and a ton of gardening! Made a chicken dish that was new for dinner - Tom did not like as it was spicy! Recycled that recipe. I hate when that happens ! Boo
Had a nice walk and mulched/planted so new things. APS!!!!

I am starting a gratitude journal - each day I'll write something I'm thankful for - have a great day

Packed, tracked and ready for the week's work and learning

Good evening, Team!
Long day here, too. Went to the Yankees game. It was a great game (Aaron Judge broke a record by hitting a HR 495 feet over the bleachers) It was brutally hot and our seats were in the blazing sun all day. Game was long, about 4 hours. Enjoyed the game in spite of the temps, but I am glad to be home, showered and in my jammies.
BERYL, glad that the shower went well. And the rest of your days sounds good, too.
KELLIE, I also like the Amish/Mennonite area although I haven't been there in may years. There was a great festival? Amish fair? in Kutztown, that I've enjoyed.
CORRINE, I think it was LYNN (who briefly posted in this group) who kayaked. She lived in Canada (if I remember correctly) Glad you're getting everything ready for your trip.
LORI, I always love when things are neatened up and organized. Good for you!
DR SUE, safe trip back home.
Hi KATHIE and NICKY!
Yes, the mowing is a weekly chore unless the weather is too hot and dry. Tomorrow is supposed to be like today. I don't think I'll be doing much outside.
Wishing everyone good evening.

Peg

Happy Sunday evening team. Long, long day.
Shower was fine. Lots of people there--38 ladies. Was informed there will now be 20 from her side for the rehearsal dinner. WTH??? She got scads of beautiful things, all kept at her mother's house. I do not know why...
DD made a fabulous vegan quiche/frittata thing that was so darn good!! I had a big piece of that and some fruit. Oh and a couple of mimosas.lol. Came home and went out walking wtih DH and had a drink at a fun outdoor venue at our riverfront, now eating a big salad for dinner and watching the Tonys. My favorite night!
Kellie, I too enjoy the Amish/Mennonite area. Such a different way of life in our modern times. I find it fascinating.
We are "only" gone 8 days for our trip. I bought our bus tix from Philly, but not sure how we're getting there. I like Uber but don't know if one would be available that morning. I don't know if you can preorder one? Does anyone know?
Looooong day tomorrow. Nurses meeting. UGH. I am saying I need to leave for lunch because our school is having their end of year luncheon. It was Friday. But my dermatologist had an opening tomorrow at noon so I took it.
HOT today. Oh my gosh! Like 92! Very hot and sunny and wonderful!
Have a good evening ladies.

Happy Early Sunday!

Why does the weekend always fly by? Lori, so glad you liked Wonder Woman. DH and DS are going to see it again today.

I had to laugh when you asked if I was a kayaker. No, have never been in one. I would be with you at Dr. Sue's lake house looking at the view and petting Q. It sounds like you were very productive yesterday and you're getting your house in order, truly making it your own. We have ADT too but have never had to call them so don't know about their customer service. I like the extra security when we're gone. DS will set it when we leave because he's such a heavy sleeper and it will make him feel more secure.

Peg, it sounds like your mowing is an endless job. How are you able to manage with your shoulder? No wonder you don't have energy. I'm sorry PT didn't work. Hope they don't have to do surgery.

Beryl, can't wait to hear all about the shower. Yes, you're right; the lists are endless. When I get back I'll be going crazy trying to catch up with all I missed over two weeks. But you're also right when you say it's totally worth it.

Kellie, I was lucky enough to tag along with my DD 2 years ago to London for 8 days while she took a class. I just loved spending all my days exploring different parts of the city. You're going to have a wonderful time and September is a great month for travel. I enjoyed hearing about your experiences yesterday in Lancaster. Hard to imagine a peaceful place that's frozen in time. I admire you ladies who can make beautiful things grow.

Dr. Sue, enjoy your last day at your beautiful lake. I can see why you love going there. What a peaceful break from reality.

Nicky, I'm sorry about your cousin. How awful to go through that surgery and recuperation again.

Off to PF. Enjoy your Sunday Team.

Corinne

Hello Dear Team,

We went to see Wonder Woman and it was good. I worked in the garden, no surprise, but I cleaned out all the the containers on the side of the house. Now it looks clean and organized. That made me so happy. Yes, I was and am exhausted and in pain, but it was worth it. Was on the phone with ADT for a couple more hours, finally got it all worked out and we were disconnected, UGH.

~nighty nite, Lori
