Hello Team,

I have been eating veges and two fruits a day all along. Just limited varieties tomatoes, cucumbers, lettuce of all types, spinach, apples and strawberries. There are more veges but I don't like them. This phase opens the door to all berries, peaches, apricots, cantaloupe, cauliflower, broccoli, Brussels sprouts and more. Today I'm gonna make coconut flour pancakes. That is when I have some strength.

My Beryl I'm so sorry that your beloved Zumba hurt you and very happy happy that you're getting a rest day.

Peg, thanks for the update on both Melinda and your garden. You are an artist with words like you are with water colors.

~hugs, Lori

Good Saturday morning team.
Lori, so sorry about not feeling well. I'm glad you aren't taking those drops any more. I would doubt all they had was B12. No carbs? NO fruitor vegetables? No pasta, rice, anything? So it's just proteins? Can't live on that, it puts you into ketosis, which wreaks havoc with your body. I hope you feel better soon, and 19 pounds is amazing!!
Peg, you'll have all that space soon! What will you do with it?? Sort of gloomy here too.
Well, I still haen't had that rest day since July, but today is it. I'm sore, uncomfortable, and my body has given up. Last night's zumba was very hard for me. It's usually hard but I can do it. I couldn't do all of it. Just couldn't bend and reach. Like I was 100 years old. NOT a good feeling, so I think today is it.
Got an email from a parent from 1130 last night that she would have to reschedule meeting with me. YA THINK??? lol
Have a good day ladies! emoticon

Good morning Team!
It's been a busy few days and today is DD2 and DSIL's moving day into their new house. Waiting for them to show up with the truck to get some of her stuff out of my house. Was just raining, but the sun is starting to peek out so fingers crossed!
LORI, I'm so sorry that you're feeling so poorly. 19 lbs is amazing, however and sounds like your last injection was a better experience. The veg garden is at that end of summer stage; not looking quite as good. Tomatoes have finally started coming in and I have some more broccoli to pick. Not one eggplant! I've been able to keep BB (bastid bunny) out of the green beans this time, so just maybe I'll actually get some. The flowers are blooming; I have to tidy up around those perennials that are done. And the red aphids are all over my "false sunflowers". Tithonia (Mexican Sunflowers) are magnificent...about 8 ft tall and a most vibrant orange. All of my furry children are doing well. Melinda has ventured forth from her room on a limited basis. I did put the shelves up in there and so far they are still on the wall. yay, me!
BERYL, my neighbor is an elem school principal and although she is a 12 month employee, she is starting to gear up for the beginning of the year. Of course, the parents with med issues didn't come in. Why be prepared?
Will check back in after the moving is done.
Wishing all a great day!

Hello Team,

So sorry I've been absent, but I haven't been feeling well. This was a huge mistake. I should have known, with Fibro and being 20 years older than my DD1, that I shouldn't do it. While I've lost 19 pounds I feel terrible, and nothing is worth this. I know the drops have vitamin B12 but no other ingredients are written. I've been off them for 96 hours but still feel awful. Yes, I am carb free. I am a carb aholic I know, but now I haven't had a carb in nearly 4 weeks. Supposedly, these next 3 weeks are supposed to reset my hypothalmus and I sure hope so. My knee injections were given on the lateral part of each knee and did NOT hurt much, yay.

Nicky, I'm sorry that Guenther is the neighborhood nerd, but he has the coolest Mom in town. It's like having a puppy, or baby or even like adopting a toddler who has known no boundaries. I'm glad he's settling down some and I hope that the "ranch" will turn out lovely.

Beryl, I'm sorry that the job is overbearing right now. It will get better, right? It just takes a little bit of time. I'm glad that you got to see Jo, I'm sure it makes you smile really big inside.

Peg, how is your garden doing? Do you see pretty things happening? Please, a story of Melinda, just a little one.

DD2 is going to have a sweet time ahead of her. She finished her last day at the "terror" high school, oh yeah. Next week she starts at her new job. I pray it will be as awesome as she believes it will be. She will move in with her brother, my son, and her hours will be, 8-3, then she is free to do her music and visit with her college friends. She is moving in the right direction.

Hello Kellie and Dr. Sue, we do hope that you are okay.

~hugs, Lori

Work. Working. Full time. Boy, what's that deal?? lol. I'm very thankful I have a job, make no mistake. But the beginning of the year is just busy beyond belief. Kids come Monday....all the parents who called and emailed me about their kids meds haven't managed to come in, so Monday will be ugly.
Didn't wind up having a rest day yesterday. DD2 called to say she wanted to come over and us go for a walk with Jo, so we did a 40 minute walk. Did my hard zumba tonight. Maybe Monday?? We'll see.
Warm and muggy. Still plenty of summer left, but boy, the days are sure shorter now. Noticably shorter.
I love the lavender water idea, Nicky. Gunther will smell so good! We used to have a cat. Cats traditionally hate water. So I got the spray bottle. Don't you know that darn cat LOVED it. lol
Waving hi to everyone. Hope everyone is just busy, as Nicky said, and OK!
Have a good evening.

DRSUE, the Shush/Quiet Cookie will be added to my repertoire of Good Dog Behavior Modifications. So far, I've only had to nail Gunther with the spray bottle four times. I carry a little travel spray bottle with water and a bit of lavender essential oil for when he barks at other dogs on our walks. He only barks at them once they meet and sniff; he goes into the play posture, and if the other dog doesn't reciprocate, he barks in their faces. I've only done it once, but he immediately stops.

Can you blame some of the people walking their dogs for cringing in horror and crossing the street when my little Gunther slinks towards them like a mountain lion stalking prey? It's hysterical and really uncool nerd behavior or a dog, especially a springer Spaniel with floppy curly ears. emoticon

BERYL, you are back at school full time now, or is it after the Labor Day weekend?

Sure has been quiet around here the last few days. Hope it's because everyone is out having fun!!

Late start today team. Lots of meetings, not much work getting done.
First rest day since mid July....so excited!
Lori, hope the shots go well and you find relief.
Yes, Peg, LD is here NEXT WEEK!!
So glad Gunther seems to be settling in and not barking so much!!
Why do some folks seem to feel group meetings are all about them, and feel the need to comment about EVERY SINGLE THING??? It's not their personal meeting!!
Done.
Have a good afternoon!!

LORI, I can't imagine why eating real food on the OMNI Plan would make you dizzy and weak. What drops are those that you are using? You may, who knows, be suffering from sugar/carb withdrawal? So many variables. The notion of 70% plants and 30% protein with the addition of good food fats is an ultimately healthy human diet.

Gunther had a major breakthrough this week (this is the third week he's been with us) and allows me to sleep 8 hours. Last night was the first night he didn't bark his fool head off while I'm preparing meals and eating. I guess he's getting comfortable in the routine. He's going to be a gem.

We're going up to the ranch (haha) over Labor Day, so that will be another interesting test with a new dog. Rattlesnakes, foxtails, bears, mountain lions; no fences. I'm going to be a basket case.

To all a great OP day!

Hello Team,

I know, why am I doing this if it affects me so badly. Well I didn't want to stop and lose all that I achieved. As far as gaining it back, my DD1 has kept it off for almost 10+ months and while applying the rules and tools she learned she has lost even more.

My Beryl, glad you made it through the family drama, give Jo a hug from me.

Hi Dr. Sue, It is always nice to see you post. I'm glad that things are going well.

Peg, I'm hoping that you will take a break and get some good reading in.

Kellie, wow, you remain so busy, I like that you are finding a balance.

Hi Nicky and Guenther

I go tomorrow for my 4th set of knee injections and I'm so not looking forward to it due to the last horror I went through last week, Ugh! Courtney will start her new job around the 25th of August so we shall see.

Good morning Team!
It is beautiful today and although the cooler nights are great for sleeping, they're not doing my pool temp. any good.
BERYL, no ragged nails allowed! Get thee to the manicurist right away...
KELLIE, great article and so much truth contained therein. When I read the point about sex/relationships, I thought of the scene (which I can't remember exactly, of course) in Eat Love Pray but where the friend of the main character expressed concern about gaining weight and the effect on sex, main character's response was "Has anyone ever asked to to leave once you took off your clothes?" (or something like that). Am working on the live life part, as well as the wagging tail part and not being so self conscious, not being "good enough" in whatever I do. I am "good enough". Actually, I'm better than "good enough" (that sounds like I've just barely made it to the "acceptable/adequate" level)....I/WE ARE FABULOUS!!!!
and Kellie, my "bank career" was hardly that. Just worked there a little over a year right out of college while trying to get a full time teaching position.
LORI, hope your knees are feeling better.
NICKY and GUNTHER, hello.

Good Tuesday morning team.
Kellie, glad you are figuring out how to do it all! And you do so much. I hope getting in earlier helps your busy day.
I still haven't come to terms with my body--weight loss and gain, and 3 children are tough on one! But I'm better. And I adored that piece. Every thing she said was true. How we distance ourself from life due to our weight. So sad. I do like Extreme Weight Loss more than the Biggest Loser, because it's just more realistic. It's a year to lose a lot of weight. It seems more doable. It's not a game, like Biggest Loser, which, if you read things from former contestants, is filled with tricks to lose weight faster, like starving them and drinking large quantities of coffee and other caffeinated things to lose weight. I'd lose weight working out 5 hours a day too!!
Ridiculousness.
Zumba at 11:10, then manicure at 12:45. Can't go back to work tomorrow with ragged nails. lol
Have a good day team!

Beryl - I'm with you on the biggest loser - I always thought they pushed them too hard to get viewers in the end... I liked how she said her body had the same issues after - for me loose skin and stretch marks! Although they've faded, they line my body - I like them - it's a right of passage ...

Trying to get in a little early to get home and write - it's so much earlier than writing when I'm tired - have a great day ! Kellie

Kellie--that was a life changing article. I'm overwhelmed with what she said. I want to shout that all over!
And while I do sometimes watch the Biggest Loser, it confirms what I always thought--show them all a year later. See if they can maintain it during "real life." Like all of us have to.

Good morning Team!
Beautiful here today. Pilates, then mom to an eye dr. appt and then to pick up a painting from the show in Woodstock. Then, I get to mow.. Yesterday I just crashed...no motivation, no nothing. Seems like I say that a lot lately. It seems if I have an "active" day, the next day I am useless and I can't stop shoving food into my mouth. same old song, I'm afraid. Around 6 pm I started feeling a bit better and moved out the stove to clean and put those glide-y things under it and put a little of my art stuff away. Maybe tonight I will work more on that.
BERYL, glad you survived yesterday. DD2 is going for her BSN online. Should be done by next summer. Finished Mr Mercedes; next up either The Book Thief or natchez Burning.
DR SUE, that sounds like a good idea, only in that little Ruby brain, I'm afraid she would think "if I just start to bark and then stop, I'll get a cookie" I do see the trouble you referenced. Think I will mention it to ex-hubs and maybe he can give it a try with Dori.
LORI, I'm a little relieved that you'll be finished with the extreme part of Omni. I looked it up and didn't see anything about drops.
KELLIE, attack of the killer starfish?
Today is DD2 ans DSIL's closing. Hoping all goes smoothly.
A big HI to NICKY, HEIDI and all who drop in.

Peg

Good Monday morning all. Off to work soon. Lots to do.
DrSue, that sounds like such a good idea. I know I'd shush for a cookie too!
Lori, I agree about the Omni-will you gain when you go back to eating "real" food? what kind of drops?? I don't remember hearing about them.
You did a lot of exercise DrSue. Sorry you still aren't sleeping well. I hear you there.
Gorgeous day. Picking up Jo this afternoon--will have all the guys with me. DH is off today, DS is coming in for an eye doctor appt, and DSIL says he wants to go to whole foods with us. So it's Jo and me and the guys. Looking forward to it!

Beryl, I'm glad things went better than you thought. Sorry the traffic undid your exercise buzz.

Peg, sounds like you got it all done! I hope you are sleeping better.

Kellie, I'm glad you are doing well! Oh my kittens are so fun. I know, I still have 2 I'm trying to place. They are hysterical.

Lori, if Omni makes you feel so bad, are you sure it's a good idea? Did you discuss it with your Dr before you started it?

I had a busy weekend. Yesterday I did a 20 mile ride and walked 6 miles. I got my 250 mile badge from fitbit this am. I'm still not sleeping as well as I would like.

Nicky, Quint is not so much of a barker, but when he does, getting him to stop, oh my! So if someone goes by the house with another dog at 5am, bad. I went to a behavior lecture, and learned about Shush cookies. With very smart dogs, you do have to be careful. So when they start to bark, you do a loud Shush!! Followed by "cookie". If they stop barking they get a small treat. I added a hand signal for quiet. It isn't fool proof, but I find that often when Q starts to growl, he is looking to me more and more and will not progress to barking, or if he does, as soon as I sush him, he is quiet immediately. He looks for his cookie. So it works, but you can see where you could run into trouble.

Have a great day!

Hello Team,

My knees are still quite painful, ugh. Court starts her new job around the 25th of August. She's excited and so I'm I for her. She has one more week of the dreaded school and then she is done, yay!

Nicky, Omni is working, however, I would not suggest it to anyone as it is extremely difficult and has affected my health, I'm always week and most every day as I stand up I'm dizzy. Tomorrow is the last day on the drops and I'm so excited. My Thursday night I will be able to eat some fun stuff and I cannot wait.

Kellie, so nice to hear from you. Kittens are magnificent. We adopted siblings and have NEVER regretted it.

Peg, I'm glad that things are settling down for you and still hope that you can get to your garden.

Well goodnight team, Lori

Hi team. Thanks for the shout outs and good vibes. I think they helped. It was not as bad as I thought it would be--how's that for half full?? lol
Didn't eat anything either--they had lots of carb heavy brunch food--I had a hard boiled egg and some fruit. Was ready to eat my arm off after my board walk run, but did that feel good! I swear I never thought I'd be one of those "exercise makes me feel good" folks, but today--absolutely. I sweated that stress right out of me! Until it took us twice as long to get home!
Hungarian--how interesting! I know nothing of that culture--are there special foods/customs and such?
Kellie, how nice you're taking care of the fish for the friends. He was just cut for the shift, not the whole day or forever. I'm one of the few who still teach face to face. My whole college is set up for online learning--including preloading our syllabi so I have to go in and change the entire thing. UGH. Some learners still enjoy face to face. And while I enjoy it too, and occasional online class works for me. So a hybrid is the best, but this is a face to face class. With 1 online for Rosh Hashana week.
Peg, how are the books coming? Reading anything good?
Lori, how is the knee feeling? How is Court's new job???
Have a good evening team! emoticon

Ah, BERYL, family drama. Why do family members get their noses of out of joint so easily? I walk on eggshells when I'm with the in-law siblings. They gossip about each other!

My family is Hungarian. I am the first-born in the U.S. and so proud. My father came to the U.S. when he was 15 and joined the U.S. Army in WWII. He met my mother at a displaced persons camp in Germany. My mom would ask for cigarettes from the G.I.s. My father refused her, and she cussed him out in Hungarian; he answered her back in Hungarian, and a relationship began. He wrote to her for a couple of years; his parents encouraged him to bring out a nice Hungarian girl from the old country. And so it went.
We lived in the Hungarian section back East, and I didn't speak much English until we moved to California.

BERYL, some people need that cleansing cry and agitation to just get it all out; maybe your mom is that way? My grandmother used to cry buckets at church every Sunday. We'd walk in, she'd pull out her rosary, and the waterworks would start. Never understood it as a kid.
Must be why so many enjoy Greek tragedies---cathartic.

KELLIE, those few extra stupid pounds! Don't I know it! We have to remember to just live our lives and enjoy the journey. My 'nother mother is 95; she spent a good part of her younger years battling obesity. She at long last dealt with her food issues and lost the weight she needed to and stopped the stressing already. She mentioned last time I visited that she wasted too many years "dieting" and not living. I have at long last gotten there. I don't "diet" in that sense of the word. What I still deal with, though, is maybe a character flaw---over eating for emotional satisfaction. I can put away pounds of veggies and meat and eggs. I eat like a field hand.

That will be wonderful to have kittens in the house! When do you think you might get them?
I won't have any more cats; they are just coyote fodder around here.

LORI, are you enjoying the OMNI plan? How do you think it's different from your normal OP style of eating? Do you think you can sustain that way of eating most of the time?
The OMNI "diet" is not really that much different from the Paleo approach. All the reasonable diets, I guess, ask that we eat "real" food (except that stupid WW frozen and candy substitute food-like items they sell.), heavy on the veggies. Everybody is so different. Some can tolerate dairy, some can't eat grains or red meat.
Finding a plan that suits you and STICKING TO IT is the ultimate secret.

Gunther and I took a 2-mile walk and played ball all before 9 A.M. I'm going to spend the rest of the day reading!! We'll go for a swim later and throw some more ball, too! I'm going to have quite the pitching arm before this is all over!

When you arise in the morning,

give thanks for the morning light, for your life and strength.

Give thanks for your food and the joy of living.

If you see no reason for giving thanks, the fault lies in yourself.

Hi Ladies, I hope you all are having a good weekend – I’ve been busy with school work today

Peg, I hope the birds are enjoying the new shrubs. I see some of the trees and greenery starting to turn myself too. You had a banking career also too? Wow, you are amazing ! I’m glad the art room is doing great!

Beryl, when you say cut do you mean cut from a shift or physically cut with regards to DS? Collaborating on a course might mean that you’ll have less work? I hear a lot of teachers doing that.

Dr. Sue, wow, that’s wonderful that you walk so much. Mango is so sweet like his brother was, so I feel lucky to have his companionship. Sorry that work has been pretty stressful – I wish you a better week ahead

Lori, how do you feel with a few days in with the knee injections?

Nicky, love the energy here “million-buck feeling” – you owned it! I know you looked wonderful

It was a nice Friday – two of my lady BFFs got married to each other on Friday. I got a new dress – still size 8 thank god. The week was emotionally exhausting with thinking of little Sunkist – we got tons of cards, his facebook page was shared by popular cat sites, and we got a couple hundred responses from strangers all over the world. It was touching. Mango has settled in to sleeping between us and taking care of us. We are going to get two kittens at some point – this should all be an interesting journey.

We are off to check in on our cousin’s house – they are traveling to Iran – he wanted his family to meet his wife and children. He has a salt water tank and we are tasked with returning a star fish that’s eating every living being in his tank.

My weight is STS and holding at about a few over goal – I’ll do my best – got up this morning and went for a walk to get myself started for the day. It was beautiful out.
Have a great Sunday! Kellie

I'm Kellie :)

Good morning Team! Woke up to sun shining and a beautiful morning.
BERYL, thinking of you today. Family drama...boo hiss!! Can you escape for a while and go walk along the beach? Wish I lived closer; after DD2 takes her stuff from my house, I'll be needing some furniture, esp. a loveseat/couch. DE is just a little too far to drive.
NICKY, our Springer was not a rescue. We bought her when she was a puppy. We take full responsibility for how she acted. Just got too bored while we were at work, I guess...our bad.
Getting ready to run out to the store.
Wishing all a great day!

I love family stories--Nicky, where was your mom from? Eating off the floor? I remember my mom scrubbing on her hands and knees too. Never happen.
Peg, you'll sleep good tonight too after all that work! I'm so impressed. Wish I was that motivated to clean. Or anything. lol. My mother has complained that we don't discuss my late dad. It's because she carries on so much when we do--crying and whatever so no one does. This was supposed to be the weekend of their 60th anniversary party, so we're going down for brunch. We'll look at pictures. And the drama has already started. My DD2 told me she called to say hello and my sister told her how mad she was at me for saying not to include any of my kids in the brunch tomorrow. My DD told her she was working, my DS was working, and my DD1 had a race. Oh, sister said.
Yeah, a drink is coming.....LOL
I'm thinking about Kellie too!! Hope everything is OK and she's just busy.

I'm a volunteer for English Springer Rescue and have rescued Springers for years. They all have their hang ups, rescued dogs, that is. This is the first time where I have known the history of the dog and even met the former guardian. My diagnosis? This is one spoiled dog who got all of her attention when she was home because of her guilt. All Gunther needed to do was bark, and she was right on it. She's 28, works full time, and lived in a condo with a roommate. Gunther was alone all day, and, I imagine, some nights. She went to the gym 3-4 times a week. One little bark, and he'd get whatever he wanted, I'm thinkin'.

BERYL, the Polar FT60 is practically the same as the FT7 except with those few add-ons I mentioned. Uses the same strap, too. The ladies' watch is lavender color (not exactly my style, but, hey) and easy to set.
Sounds like you need to change the battery on the transmitter. If that doesn't do it, it's time for a new strap. Definitely worth the $18, or whatever; the new strap is extremely soft. I got the extra small because they stretch out. For instance, my under bust measurement is 30"; the XS goes from 20-something-30".

PEG, you're so ambitious! Instead of the steel wool, we used that spray foam to seal all the holes in which the mice could get in up at our cabin. Love that stuff! So fun to use and watch it grow as you spray (okayfine. So I'm easily amused, too, besides having no life).
I look around my house and just sigh. Ants; new spider webs every day; dust in a film on everything because of the construction behind us. I just can't keep up.

My mother used to vacuum AND clean the kitchen floor on her hands and knees every day. She would say in her thick accent, "You vill never know when you have to eat off this floor!!"

When you arise in the morning,

give thanks for the morning light, for your life and strength.

Give thanks for your food and the joy of living.

If you see no reason for giving thanks, the fault lies in yourself.

Hello Team,

Oh Peg, those darn Voles again. I'm so sorry about that. I never had heard of a vole until you shared your story with us last time. You are spring cleaning, not spring of course but you will be so happy when you're done. I miss Melinda, any good stories about her? I hope that you get some time for your garden, not for the weeds but for the therapy.

Beryl, I agree with Peg, drinks and family go together. I'm sure you'll do fine but just in case have one on us. .2 is not bad at all, but it is a good thing that you are monitoring it. My diet of late makes me weigh in daily. I think I'm losing the fear of the dreaded scale.

Nicky, yes, we are closer to the ocean, but over an hour to the west of us. It's nothing but hot outside and that makes me stay inside all the more. I'm looking forward to the temps cooling so I can once again walk my passeos. I'm sorry about Guenther's barking. I'm glad that you can love him in spite of that. I love hearing your stories about him and you. I wonder if the barking is his type of dog. Maybe there is a way to cut out that behavior without you feeling bad. You are human and it is hard.

I, too, hope that everyone has a nice, peaceful weekend. Hey, where is Kellie these days?

~hugs, Lori

Happy Saturday Team!
Finally, I've accomplished something. With the help of a neighbor I was able to pull my refrig. out to do a through cleaning under and behind. What sparked this you might ask? Two days in a row Yoshi caught a vole in my kitchen. I now have an idea how they got in and stuffed the hole with Brillo....figure steel wool with soap will be a deterrent. Put a couple of those glide-y things under the refrig. so I could move it back easily and should be able to pull it out for future cleanings. How gross it all was! Think I'll try that with the stove too, and maybe I can keep that a little cleaner. AND, I finally put the shelves up in Melinda's room. Took longer than expected, but I'm fairly confident they won't come crashing down. Tomorrow I'll organize my art supplies, magazines and books and get them put on the shelves. Will make a trip to MIchael's (I have a gift card), Ollie's and the Dollar Store to get some baskets and storage containers. Now, if I can just get to the rest of the house and gardens (the weeds are HUGE).
BERYL, good luck tomorrow. Why do you think they will all sit around and cry? Drinking and families seem to go together (for me, at least).
NICKY, our first dog as a married couple was a Springer....beautiful, sweet dog, but what a barker...omg...I could not stand it and didn't know how to stop it. That was in 1980. I will tell you that she lived to a ripe old age and was I happy when she got older and calmed down. (She also chewed the corners on my kitchen cabinets) Wish I knew then what I know now. We all would have been a bit happier.
LORI, sorry it is so brutally hot out there. I feel like I'm part of Game of Thrones....there's a voice in my head that just continually drones on..."winter's coming".
Last night I slept well. Guessing that's why I felt so motivated today...ya think?
Hoping everyone is enjoying the weekend.

Peg

Hi team. Up .2 today, which did not surprise me since I've exercised so much I'm aching. My legs are so heavy--filled with lactic acid I assume--that that's what it is. I'm OK with that.
Nicky, barking dogs make me NUTS!! Not my own--other folks! We had a problem with a family who left their dogs out all night, and they barked all night. Makes me crazy. But you have a handle on it, so it's all good. And of course you and he are in love! We all knew that would happen!
Funny you mention the Polar HRM. It's been saying my HR is 0 sometimes, and tells me to check the strap. I fiddle with it and somehow it goes on. Maybe a new battery? Seems like it's pretty soon though. Does yours tell you calories burned and all that Nicky??
Out for dinner tonight. Saw DR chairs at Pier One today we'll probably get too. Got a charity coming out later in the month to get all the furniture we're replacing, so that gives us a deadline, which is good. DH is cleaning the basement out, making it a den for himself with some of the old furniture.
Off to the beach tomorrow to see my mother, sister, her girlfriend, the daughter, my niece--I need a drink NOW!!
Have a good day team! emoticon

YAY, DRSUE!! If that's what it says on the scale, then it's REAL----Just as REAL as when it's up 4lbs!!! Stupid scale.

PEG, it's hot, for crying out loud. Read. Rest. Enjoy. It's the dog days of summer, and rotten winter will be upon us soon enough.

Bless Gunther's heart, the barking at everything is driving me crazy. I lose my patience and end up shouting, "QUIET!!!" which is so not cool. He barks for attention; he barks when I'm sitting down to eat; he barks when he wants to play. It's piercing. Depending on the situation, I'll either ignore it or put on the prong collar and make a swift correction, like when preparing dinner. He stands there and barks constantly. Sigh. Other than that, though, he's sleeping through the night and waking me at 6:15-ish, which is great. He's very cuddly and sweet and quiet when I'm in my office working. We're falling in love. . .

Got tired of having such trouble changing the battery on the Polar FT7. I invested in the FT60, which has a much easier to open transmitter for battery changing. I found a HRM USA promo code and got 10% off, or something. It's very similar to the FT7, but it has a fitness test (VO2 max) feature and a training program feature.
I passed the fitness test as 'ELITE'!!!! That's "ELITE" for my age, of course. Nevertheless, nice to know all that exercise is actually making a difference.

Pretty warm here, too, LORI, even though we're closer to the ocean. At least it's not muggy.

BERYL, I second what DRSUE remarked about you. You're amazing and quite an inspiration.

When you arise in the morning,

give thanks for the morning light, for your life and strength.

Give thanks for your food and the joy of living.

If you see no reason for giving thanks, the fault lies in yourself.

Hi Team,

Tried to post yesterday but it poofed. Weather is still too hot. Knees are so-so.

Peg, I'm so sorry that you have difficulty sleeping. I'm there right with you.

I agree with Dr. Sue, my Beryl, your life is so busy and yet you keep on keeping on.

I hope that we all have a pleasant weekend.

Wasn't reading, BERYL, although I should have been with that big stack of books. (Have you seen how huge Natchez Burning is?...omg) Just wasn't sleepy and now I am exhausted. Ended up not going for a bike ride which was fine with me and ex hubs took me to Home Depot so I could buy the actual shelves. They might have fit in my car, but it would have been difficult. Just tossed them into the back of his truck. Guess I should just get to it, but I have no energy, zilch...nada...tank is empty. May just have to take a little nap...zzz

Good morning team. Beautiful here as well.
DrSue, you are rocking this exercise and weight thing! That's huge! I hope the day goes quickly today and tomorrow and then you get a break. Are you going to camp again, or just a day off?
Peg, were you reading until 4? Or just couldn't sleep.
I never sleep well. I stay up late because I'm not sleep until then, then wake up every hour and half to 2 hours. Ghastly. I do have ambien and ativan, but take one only on weekends.
Just hanging now, till zumba time. Scheduled my mammogram for next week. Wanted it Monday morning but not happening.
Zumba, cleaning, and the market today. Be very jealous ladies.
Have a great day!

Good morning Team!
Sunny, beautiful and cooler here today. Waiting for ex-hubs to show for a bike ride. Didn't get to sleep until after 4:00 this morning and then up at 7. I am feeling very draggy and just want to tumble back in bed. oh well....
Big applause for the -4 DR SUE. "just til noon"...you'll make it. Glad the sleeping is somewhat better. Probably won't be floating as the water has cooled somewhat. Just got the "pool closing" letter. Need to write a check and send it in with a preferred date.
Wishing everyone a great day!

Good morning everyone! I was a little frustrated that with all the exercise and tracking in the last couple of weeks, I was down 1 lb. I dreaded it but stepped on the scale this morning, rubbed my ryes and tried again. Down 4 lbs!! I know it can't be real but I'll take the high.

Lori sorry about the knees, awesome on the loose shorts.

Beryl, I don't know how you manage to do so much exercise and work in a day. Not to mention all of your family things and fun events you attend. You are amazing! Your gym is losing money on you.

Peg, you did a heck of a lot for getting nothing accomplished. I hope you are less achy today and can float around in the pool and read today.

The weather has been cool and wonderful. Work has been crazy and yesterday was very stressful. Added some more white hairs for sure. I need to get to noon today and tomorrow. I can do it. I did finally sleep better last night. Hopefully I will be back in sync. Have a great one today.

What a spectacular day! Didn't want to stay inside and work out, so went for a lovely walk. I must admit I was a bit sluggish--I cannot remember the last rest day I had. I just don't remember. And hopefully tomorrow will be 2 zumba classes. We'll see.
Peg, somehow I don't see these gorgeous young men I see everywhere else. These are big dumb boys. lol. I have seen some cross country runners from another high school.......LOL
You got a lot done for a "wasted" day! Sorry your mother is like that. Does she think every time it's something new?
My sister, her partner, my niece, and partners downs syndrome daughter are visiting my mother for 4 days. We're going down Sunday to look at pictures (and watch them all cry, I guess). I'm already queasy thinking of it......but it's just a few hours out of my life....I can do it--right???
Lori, will the awesome weight you lost stay off after going back to normal eating? Do you still restrict a whole lot when you're done?
Nicky, YOU ROCK!!!

Good afternoon Team!
What a gorgeous day today.
NICKY, glad Gunther is settling in and that you rocked the dresses....HOORAY!!!!!
LORI, sorry about the knee; deliriously happy about the shorts (Omni, huh?)!
BERYL, ooh....football physicals...now, if they were just a tad bit older...
Got nothing done today....planned on cleaning (a former co-worker is stopping by later) and getting those shelf brackets up, but noooo. Got a call from mom that she wanted to meet with my brother and I to discuss something and wouldn't tell us what it was about until we were together....no, it wasn't anything important (had to do with Pub. Clearinghouse, her critical thinking skills are fading fast), but that took my entire morning. She did this once before, actually lied to me about getting some mail from a relative that I needed to see and when I got there, it was Pub. Clearinghouse. I called her out on the lying and told her that was unacceptable. Then DD2 was here stressing over the house closing and trying to straighten out a cable issue...another couple of hours that I'll never get back...sigh Anyway, just finished vacuuming, dishes and some laundry. Next, out to get some wine and then to drink it... emoticon
Hoping everyone has a great day!

Hi, all! I've been MIA mostly because Gunther, apparently, is a morning animal. It's good for me. I'll start going to bed much earlier. He's settling in nicely. It's just the barking to get attention that is rather driving me crazy; it's getting a bit better, too.
We're up to 7 miles at one time walking, and I take him every other day for a 1-hr walk around the block; swimming; ball throwing.

I attended the rehearsal dinner and the wedding of DD's friends at which DH was the officiant. It was at the Bel Air Hotel, so you can imagine how gorgeous everything was.
Well, I ROCKED THE DRESSES!!
I rocked the turquoise dress that I wore to the wedding so hard that DD needed to borrow it. That says SOMETHING, right?
I don't think anybody got any pictures that night, but I don't care. I felt like a million bucks. Both dresses were "young" but not inappropriate. The black knit dress that I wore to the rehearsal dinner had a racerback and fitted ruched skirt. I wore delicate silver gladiator flat sandals and felt hip and happenin'. Sigh. I wish I could conjure up that million-buck feeling more often.

Stayed OP for all events. Ate 1/2 of one first course ravioli because it really tasted just like flour and water to me. Ate 1/2 of the tiramisu dessert at the rehearsal. Had no sweets at the wedding. Portions were small and delicious otherwise. That's the way normal folk are supposed to eat.

LORI, congratulations on the shorts being loose! Best feeling in the world.

Hard to fathom that lazy days of summer are almost over!

Give thanks for your food and the joy of living.

If you see no reason for giving thanks, the fault lies in yourself.

Good morning all. Off to work for a few hours for football physicals. Be still my heart! LOL
Peg--5 books!! LOVE IT! I did finish Mr Mercedes in 3 days.....
Lori, love Patterson. He's totally gory and totally engaging.
Not hot here, but sunny and beautiful! Going to the gym after work, or maybe a walk since it's so nice out. Dinner is leftovers, I think. I have a restaurant.com coupon for a little local place....but maybe not. We'll see.
Hi to everyone. Have a great day! emoticon

Hello my Team,

I had my 3rd round of knee injections today. Oweeee! This one, my right knee, was just terrible. My left one hurt but not as bad.

Today as I was getting dressed for the doctor, I tried on my smallest shorts. They fit with room. It was so exciting. Beryl, I am interested in sft for when phase 3 is over with. I may be asking you for advice.

It is still hot, hot, hot here. I stay indoors mostly except to water my gorgeous bougainvilleas and other assortment of plants.

Wow, Dr. Sue, 5 miles a day that is fabulous. I cannot wait for the temps to go down so I can once again walk my beloved passeos. I also may be going to the gym with my friend as her guest, once my knees are cleared for duty.

I'm still listening to James Patterson, The Postcard killers. Very gross, intense and scary.

~hugs to all, Lori

Good morning Team!
Rainy, but no flooding. Off to pastels this afternoon. Still feeling unmotivated and achy (must be from the yard work on Monday and tossing those concrete chunks)
BERYL, did I say that the email was for 5 books that have come in. Hopefully some are older books and I can renew them. Don't think I'll finish reading 5 in 3 weeks. So, if I can't renew, I'll return them on time and just put them back on my list. Love the library! Ordered some 60s CDs after watching the PBS show. Now all I need is a hot car with a name painted on the front fender to go cruisin' (Am I the only one to remember that?)
Hoping everyone is well.

Peg, I'm halfway through and I have 3 weeks to read it. I think not. lol It's very similar to Rose Madder which I just read this summer--no creepy crawlies or monsters of the supernatural kind--just really, really bad guys of the real world kind. Infinitely scarier. Except for Pennywise, of course!!
Busy day tomorrow. Going into work, then muscle pump, then picking up DS for a dentist appt, then a hair cut/color for me, picking up Jo so DS can see her, then probably dance fusion for the cardio. UGH....
Hope everyone had a good day.

BERYL, just got an email from the library that Mr Mercedes is in. Will pick it up tomorrow.
DR SUE, 5 miles/day...amazing. It has rained only a little here so far, but was gray and gloomy all day. There are flood warnings for tonight and tomorrow. I believe (via fb) that HEIDI is starting to pack in anticipation of their move although they haven't gotten the final orders yet. Still wondering why NC.
I did nothing today except read (sorry, BERYL). Couldn't make myself get to the shelves or much else. Told you I was feeling lazy today. Am watching PBS and a program of folk music hosted by John Sebastian. Right now...Roger McGuinn doing Byrds' songs. Oh, the days of my youth.....

Kellie, it is so hard, but it is great you have Mango to help you through.

Lori, I'm glad this plan is working for you. I hope the injections do too.

Beryl and Peg, we still have the incredible weather here. However, we are expecting it to rain cats and dogs tomorrow. Beryl, so glad it was only one night for your son, but it stinks anyway.

I got up and did my spin, and have walked over 10k steps. Still love the fitbit. Who knew I walk about 5 miles every day. And that is not "going for walks". My average to and from work and time at work is 5 miles. I am hosting my rotary BOD meeting today after work. Could not stand to be in a conference room on such a beautiful day.

How is Heidi doing with all her craziness?

I'm off for now. Have a good night everyone.

Good rainy miserable Tuesday team.
Yes, DS was just cut for the one evening, and his chef apologized to him, he said. Good. He should have.
Did my hard zumba, then had a meeting with a friend of mine who is the head of the local nursing organization in the state. She comes to speak to a class I teach and needed information from a class for one she teaches too. Nice to collaborate.
Yay for wine, Lori!!!
Reading Stephen King's new book and having a hard time working my day around reading!! I want to just sit and read and I can't!!!

Good morning Team!
Raining here already; I thought it wasn't supposed to start until later. Glad I put the winterberry shrubs in and finished filling the hole and seeding the area yesterday instead of waiting until this morning.
Just had an estimator from my fuel oil company here to give me figures on upgrading my furnace. (mine is from the early 1950s and inefficient). Don't know if I will be able to do it, but it never hurts to have the info. Told him I wanted an estimate for the least expensive, most efficient and converting to gas (propane as the local utility company does not run natural gas to my neighborhood). Will be interesting to see the results.
I think that I will finally try to put up the shelving brackets today. I'd like to paint the wall they will go on which means I have to "BIN" it first as it is paneled. And then again,I'm feeling a bit lazy today.
LORI, Phase 3 sounds a whole lot better, particularly that you'll be able to indulge in some wine.
Wishing everyone a great day.

Hello Team,

Today was another weak day. I'm feeling better tonight, yes! I have till a week from Thursday then I will start eating like you Beryl and Heidi. It's very similar to soft. Meat, dairy, oil, real butter, cheeses, oh how I miss cheese. I've already been storing recipes and that helps me look forward to Phase 3 on Omni. Phase two is rough and gets boring real fast.

Beryl, I'm with Peg, was he cut for one night only? I sure hope so. On Phase 3 I'm allowed wine, yipee.

Glad to hear you are healing Peg. It's so exciting with all your art shows. My bougainvilleas are doing so amazing. I'm so happy about that.

Kellie, each day will bring new strength. It doesn't get easier but you will be able to cope better.

Dr. Sue, glad to hear you are doing well too.

Hello Nicky and Heidi.

Good afternoon Team!
DR SUE, I'm relieved that you were a bit achy after all that activity. Shows you're human after all emoticon
BERYL, do you mean cut like out of a job? Other than that, sounds like a good day.
KELLIE, hooray for Mango! It's hard at work. I wore sunglasses all day once at the courthouse. You can imagine the looks I got.
LORI, hope you are feeling better and the stings are just a bit itchy still.
The art studio tour was great, saw a couple of people that I know, including someone I worked with at a bank in 1973 and she remembered me first. (I was in the hazy "her face looks familiar" state.) Went to pilates this morning and then out to get soil to fill in the crater in my yard (have to go back for 2 more bags) and bought two winterberry shrubs, a male and a female 'cause if there isn't a boy around, the girls won't produce those beautiful red berries that the birds love and are so lovely in the (dare I say it)...winter. And speaking of upcoming seasons, one of the neighborhood maple trees is starting to turn already. As I drive by it I say "SHAME ON YOU!!"
Hi NICKY and HEIDI.
Hope everyone has a good day.

Good morning team. Another beautiful day here.
Kellie, so glad Mango is there for you now. Sometimes it's harder to talk about things like that all day, so come here when you need to.
DrSue, you are a beast!! Bike, walk, and so many miles! I bet you slept well. Is your sleep better, or just the one night?
Had a great evening in Philly. Found cheap $5 parking. Didn't go to DSs restaurant--he was cut right as we got there. NOT COOL! But he took us to a little dive with great food near there. I had an amazing celery root "steak" with vegan peppercorn cream. Really different. And a wonderful cheese plate and flatbreads with dip. And 2 glasses of rose.......
Going to muscle pump at 12, and doing 1/2 hour of cardio first. I need it!
Have a great day ladies. Lori, hope you're feeling better today.

Hi ladies, thanks for your kind words and support. This has been so hard. There are not many that know at work, so I don’t have to talk about it here. I’m relieved. Mango took over this morning and sat on the sink where Sunkist used to sit, so that was great that there was not that void the first day going back to work…

Peg, your artist on the street event sounds wonderful
Lori, I hope you have a good week health wise
Dr. Sue, great work on the activity – that’s awesome
Beryl, yes the trains are tricky going from DC area to Phila – maybe there’s a bolt bus?

I did manage to get a good night’s sleep – something I have not had in a while with my sick kitty. I packed and tracked my food. My plan today is 10K and weight training – I hope to get out on time and get some graduate work done.

Have a great day, kellie

Hello Team,

Oh, Kellie, I am so sorry. I know losing a kitty is very difficult. I'm sending prayers to you and Tom.

Peg, you are so busy, how are the bee stings doing?

Beryl, yuck, traffic, but oh so nice to have the weekend you did.

Dr. Sue, 21 miles, crazy. How are you doing from all that cycling?

I had a good and difficult weekend healthwise but am glad to have gotten through it.

~hugs, Lori

Kellie, I'm so sorry for your loss. It is so hard.

Beryl, your weekend seems wild and wonderful. Enjoy.

Peg as always, I could not keep up with your retired schedule. At least while I'm so busy, I have to be in the same place every day. I've been known to go to work when I have weekend off, because it was winter an my camp was shut up.

So I did a 21 mile ride this am. The 2.5 miles with the dog. Per my fitbit I finished walking 7 miles. I am settled at home, doing laundry etc. How much can I cram into a day???

Gorgeous day here too. Had a really nice day yesterday except for the ugly beach traffic. It was like a parking lot part of the way. UGH. I love to patronize locally sourced, locallly owned places. Decent wines. Beautiful wedding being set up at one of them. Such a pretty venue.
Zumba at 12 today, then off to Philly for dinner at the restaurant where DS works. I'd love to take the train, but there is none from 8:20 till 10:20, and one is too early and one is too late, so we'll just drive, I guess.
Peg, sounds like a lovely day. Enjoy today too!

Good morning Team!
Looks like another gorgeous day. The "Artist on the Street" event yesterday was wonderful! Beautiful weather, beautiful area and amazing works being painted right before our eyes...watercolors, oils and pastels. My friend, who has lived in the area for close to 40 years had never been to Huguenot Street and couldn't believe the number of buildings from the 1600s, the beauty and peacefulness of it. A great day. Today we're doing the artist studio tour. Looking forward to it.
Hoping all have a good day.

Peg

Good morning Team!
As those who are on fb already know, mowing can be dangerous to your health. Not a wise thing to mow over an in-ground yellow jacket nest. Seven stings later I'm good (still a lettle itchy at the sting sites) and the nest is not! Emptied half a can of wasp/hornet spray right down their little tunnel. Sort of felt like a Terminator (and yes, I actually thought the words...I'll be back...) Got great medical advice from DD2, DSIL and our very own BERYL. Quick clean in the house and then off to the plein air event this afternoon (found out that my pastel instructor as well as his wife are participating).
BERYL, I never put brandy + wine together for your school system. Leave it to DD2 to see that, but how perfect is that to be the name of your employer!
Will check back in later. Have a great day,

Peg

Hi Team,

Dr. Sue, I'm sorry about your sleepless nights. I, too, hope that the cooler weather helps. Try not to work so hard. I. Glad that you got a nice walk with Q.

Peg, your art shows/fairs sound so exciting. Please don't worry too much about me cuz I'm trying hard to not do much of anything while on the very low calorie part of this diet. I cannot wait for phase 3.

My Beryl, I'm glad that you did so many things that bring you joy.

Hello to all of our team, Goodnight and ~hugs

Good morning Team! It is a spectacular day out today!
on my agenda for today...mom's bank statements and mowing the lawn. BERYL, and you think you have a superstar life! Mine's better than yours..nyah nyah nyah nyah nyah... This weekend should be fun though. One of the nearby towns is having their annual plein air "festival" Fifteen local artists are invited to paint en plein air on one of the oldest streets in America, with all sorts of stone houses and such. I know a couple of artists who will be there so I'll take a ride down to see what's going on. Also this weekend a different town is having their annual artist studio tour. A friend and i will probably do that on Sunday. It's almost more interesting to see the artists' work spaces than their actual work.
I cannot believe how fast the time is going and everyone getting ready for back to school.
BERYL, good idea to be able to see who comes in your office.
LORI, sorry your DD's school leaves much to be desired. When I drove to FL to a take a teaching job (in what I now refer to as the "armpit" of FL) I wanted to turn right around and head back to NY. Stuck it out for 3 years and then came back. Glad Omni is working for you in your loss, but feeling weak is a concern to me. Somehow, I don't think you're supposed to be feeling weak. Take care of yourself.
DR SUE, maybe the cooler nights will help with your sleep issues. Good luck during the other doc's va-ca. I bet it was spectacular at the beach!

No trouble falling asleep, but it is waking up every 30-60 mi from 2am on. Yes, I have had issues before. I even went rooting around last night to see if I had an ambian left, which I did not. Hopefully this great stretch of cool nights will let me reset.

I walked Q to the beach and meandered around town on my way to work. Spectacular! emoticon

DrSue, I'm sorry you aren't sleeping well. Are you waking up a lot (that's what I do) or not able to fall asleep, or both?Have you had this bad cycle before? Hopefully it'll reset itself. I'm so sorry.
Off to weigh in today, a day early. I don't dare weigh in after all my eating and drinking this weekend!
Lori, so sorry the school is so bad. My office is completely gutted, except they were kind enough to leave my desk and computer up so I could work yesterday. They're also, at my requrest, rearranging things. As it is now, my desk is behind a small wall so when the kids come in, I can't initiallly see them. That doesn't work for me. THey're going to move things so I'm straight in from the door they come in. No sneaking in for them!
Off to WI, then zumba, then the market. Arent you all envious of my superstar life?? emoticon

Morning all. Still not sleeping well. Still very busy. My other vet has left for vacation, so I am in for a long stretch. The weather is absolutely incredible. Dare I say I was cold taking the dog out this morning? I made a skinny eggplant parm last night. It turned out really well. It was endorsed by my BF who is italian. I am so happy it is Friday. I can not wait for noon.

Beryl, back to school already, yuck! Sounds like you have a great weekend ahead.

Peg, I'm glad you didn't miss your class! Happy Birthday to Mom! I am with you on the passage of time with our furry companions. Q, my puppy is 71/2 years old! Starbuck is 11. Q woke up spunky flirty and ready for fun. I think he is finally recovered from the hike!

Kellie, I'm glad starkist is doing well. That is often the way it is with cats and heart disease. They tend to have occult disease, and something pushes them over the edge.

Lori, I'm glad your injections went well. I hope they help. It was very successful for a friend of mine.

I think I'll head for the shower now and leave early taking Q for a long walk to the office. Of course now he is sleeping. A dog's life. Have good one everyone!

Hello Team,

Spent the day with DD2 setting up her classroom. I met a couple of very nice co-workers. The school was so nasty, dirty and a difficult place to teach. She is searching for another job.

Doing well on Omni, just weak. I am half way through and have lost 13 pounds. I'm looking to lose 9 more. I cannot wait for phase 3. That will be 3 weeks 3 days in. Then I can add healthy fats, oh yea.

~hugs to all, Lori

Hi team. Late check in today.
Lori, glad the shot wasn't as bad. Here's hoping it helps!
Peg, enjoy Pilates.
Did my muscle pump, then had a meeting at the university, where now I"m involved in a grad student intro seminar......that's what you get for opening your mouth! Then to school and did some work, now home scarfing down my soup for lunch!
Probably taking Jo and DD to the local park tonight to listen to some music. It's delightful out!
Going to WI tomorrow, rather than Saturday. Going to be a big eating weekend, because it's DH's birthday and his Saturday off. Will do happy hour tomorrow evening (he even gets off at 6 tomorrow), 2 wineries Saturday, and dinner at DSs restaurant on Sunday.
Enjoy the day ladies! Hi to DrSue, Kellie, Nicky, Heidi, and anyone else stopping in! emoticon

Good afternoon Team!
Was sunny, a little cooler and less humid, but now the clouds are rolling in. Went to Pilates and now am getting ready to go cook with the neighbor.
LORI, the doctor who gives my mother her shots always uses the freeze spray. The shots haven't been too painful, but she's still waiting for a positive result. The doc told her it could take up to 2 - 4 weeks after the third shot. Fingers crossed.
BERYL and KELLIE, it is a fine line a new employee walks.
DR SUE, sleeping better, I hope?
Hi NICKY and HEIDI.
Hope everyone has a good day.

Peg

Hello Team,

Happy to report my injections went well today. I had her use the freeze spray first and other than the burning of the spray, minor, the only thing I felt was pressure, yay me. Thank you all for your concern.

I spent the afternoon preparing my chicken for the week. It took forever but it does taste mighty fine.

Dr. Sue I do hope that you get some decent, refreshing sleep.

Kellie, yuck on the mold. Some of my roses get that, ewwww.

My Beryl, thank you for your advice and I hope that your evening at school goes well.

Peg, any time for you is grand. I hope that you are taking time to do something that is gentle on your body and warm on your soul.

Hi Nicky and Heidi, hope all is well.

~hugs, Lori

Kellie--Iceland?How very cool!! (pun intended!). I knew you'd understand my issue at work with the balance of fitting in and making a mark.
Peg, glad the massage went well, the dinner went well and is over, and you didn't miss your pastels class! Will they reschedule or just have it next week? Enjoy the drink!
Enjoying Top Chef!

Hi guys,
Survived the day. Massage was great! My grandniece is a blast (age 3 and she told me "I'm a princess; I'm adorable"..lol)...didn't make it to pastels (brother's appt ran late) but then found out that class was canceled and mom's b'day dinner went very well. Now, I'm enjoying a small glass of Glenlivet, at home, in my jammies. emoticon

KELLIE, I think it was downy mildew that was/is a problem with the impatiens and now it's becoming a problem with basil. emoticon

Hello Team, it is so good to hear from Heidi – I think we have all be enjoying her motivational page!

My plan is to leave on time and do some school work – I’m looking at everything and thinking oh my god! I can’t want to be done with school. 

Gardening….So my Vinca hanging baskets are doing wonderful this year – I love to see them on my retaining walls when I drive to work. Did everyone hear about the mold on the impatient plants the last couple years – they have not been selling them.

Got my travel guide for Ice Land. I think that’s where we are going next year …

Have a great day, hugs, Kel

I'm Kellie :)
