Good morning Team!
Still misting here and we need so much more (and why am I mentioning that to my west coast friends who are in the middle of a serious drought emoticon )
NICKY, I considered the IV, but didn't want to lose the enjoyment of the taste...lol. That dinner does sound wonderful.
BERYL, good luck with the tooth. I also have a mouth full of crowns. Only one with a post, though, where I needed a root canal. Saw your fb post; there is a Buddhist prayer that is very similar.
LORI, so glad your visit has been enjoyable and a precious time for you.
Mom was ok after the ER visit. I can't really tell if there's been much improvement because it was intermittent to begin with. Dr said the dosage would be increased gradually and she will go back to see him next Friday.
Wishing a good day to all with a big hello to KELLIE, DR SUE and HEIDI.

~Hello, my team,

My Dad is still here, but he leaves tomorrow, early afternoon. It has been a very good visit and I fear I will be down after he leaves. We walked and talked. Laughed and I cried. I told him how I would feel if he were to die. I needed for him to know how much I love and need him. It was a good talk.

Beryl, so you had the extraction and they inserted a post all in one visit, wow. I wonder how long for the rest of the implant. Ibuprofen is a great help with mouth pain.

Nicky, I love that you said that your Daddy would take you to Canters once a week. Not necessarily the Canters part but you called him Daddy. I do too. He wasn't in my childhood but we have a great relationship since I was about 40.

Hello to Peg, Kellie, Dr. Sue and our Heidi.

~hugs, Lori

Nicky--that dinner sounds delicious! Oh my gosh! I'd eat that for breakfast too--cold!
They did insert the nail in my jaw after pulling the tooth. When I keep the ibuprofen going, it's fine. I didn't follow my own advice and wound up not eating most of today. I'll live, for sure. I have no idea when the crown comes. This whole thing is new to me. And hopefully it'll be the last time (she said optimistically...)
Lori, is your dad still with you? I love hearing about your time together.
Peg, do you see any change with your mom on the meds? How is she after the ER visit?

BERYL, darn that tooth! Did you have the post inserted at the same time as the extraction? How long before the crown (new tooth) will be ready? I'm so curious----- Do they take an impression of the whole side where the new tooth will reside? I'm sure that will be my fate some day. Every single molar in my mouth is crowned.

LORI, my daddy used to take me to Cantor's at least once a month. He adored kreplach(sp??)
and matzo ball soup. Have you ever been to Brent's in the Dreaded Valley? I have been there once and thought it was excellent. I'm NSNG (nosugar/nograin), so I just chow down on the pastrami or brisket. The servings are so huge in most of those delis.

I made the easiest dinner that is absolutely yummy--chicken andouille sausage, frozen shrimp, frozen langostino, a bag of frozen collard greens (all defrosted, of course), sauteed onion in olive oil, and a can of diced tomatoes. Cayenne pepper, salt, Italian spices. Voila.
Rice for DH.

PEG, did you take wine I.V. after you got home? The very IDEA of going through the ER raises my blood pressure.

I was a legal secretary through college, and in my former life, many years ago (although I still maintain my license) I was a certified court reporter. I did my internship in court, but that was enough for me; I stuck with depositions after that. I was on an assault trial, and the defendant kept winking and smirking at me. It was so unbelievably unnerving.
It was not the career for me. People don't get involved in lawsuits for happy reasons.

I'm so happy to be back on track. Amazing how that little itty bitty eye infection thing threw me off. I was engaging in self pity and medicating with NUTS!!! What the heck is wrong with me? Oh, well. I had a slight detour on to a bumpy road.

DD says Ugg boots are sooooo out; only slutty college girls wear them. Hmmmmm. I so want a pair. . .

When you arise in the morning,

give thanks for the morning light, for your life and strength.

Give thanks for your food and the joy of living.

Hello Team,

It got hot, yet again, today. Other than going to my doctor for another blood test, my Dad and I just talked, looked through the picture albums and enjoyed one another.

Hey Nicky, I corrected my words from slop to soup. I'm posting when I am so tired. The Pastrami had way too much sodium. I was up 2 pounds, UGH! I drank lots and lots of water to help.

Peg, I'll bet your trees are awesome. Can you show us your artwork that you took to the show and to be juried, please.

Hi, my Beryl, can you believe this Shabbot is Yom Kippur?

Good evening Team!
Just realized I haven't posted in what seems like a long time, but I'm sure it hasn't been.
Just got back from the ER with mom (yes, she's fine), didn't feel well and panicked because she couldn't get in touch with me. So, when I got to her house she was in a bad state. Anyway, she's home and I'm home (with wine).
It is beautiful here and the trees are looking lovely. Dropped off a pastel at the local art society for the Oct. show and I'm dropping off two others next Monday for a juried show. Finished my pastel last Wed. and I'm quite pleased. Now, to decide what to start tomorrow.
LORI, glad you're able to enjoy your walks again.
NICKY, great attitude about jury duty. I, however, am quite jaded having worked in the courts for so long. Now, when they allow jurors to ask questions, then I'd do it willingly. Don't think any local attorneys would accept me on a panel anyway. They know that I know attorney BS.
BERYL, glad you're enjoying the weather; did you do a winery this past weekend. Shoot! it was the weekend; of course you did a winery...lol
A big hello to KELLIE, DR SUE and HEIDI and all who drop by.

Good evening team. I don't think I realized I hadn't been here today! It was really busy--those teenagers had me running today!
Tooth sort of uncomfortable today--and a routine visit to the dentist today didn't help.
Our evenings are delightfully cool now--but the days are still warm. Mid 70s tomorrow--hopefully won't get any higher. The trees are starting to look gorgeous--just beginning to turn their spectacular colors in bits and pieces.
I love your attitude about jury duty Nicky--and it doesn't surprise me at all! I'd have bet you'd be the first to have such a wonderful attitude about it. I just had mine at the end of June, so I'm done for 2 years.
Hope everyone is well. Have a good evening ladies! emoticon

Should be really hot starting Thursday. So happy you could enjoy your walk.

Hello Team,

Yesterday was a beautiful cooler day. My Dad, DH and walked my beloved Paseos. We walked 4 miles. First time since early June. While I grew tired I enjoyed it so much.

Today, my Dad and I went to the Museum of Tolerance, then to Canters, a FAMOUS Jewish Deli. We had the same food we had decades prior, Cabbage Borsch soup and 1/2 hot pastrami sandwich. I did not eat the bread but, oh man, how delicious.

I had a call back from my doctor to say my red blood cells were down and I was borderline anemic. I have to go in tomorrow to repeat the blood test.

Dr. Sue I sure hope that you are feeling better and soon.

Hello, my Beryl, Nicky, Peg and Kellie, I'm off to bed, ~hugs, Lori

DRSUE, if you're not 100% after camp, something else is going on. TAKE CARE OF YOURSELF!

Look who's talking. I decided to just hang out today, Sunday. That is, READ. I can't believe what is happening to me. It's 4:30 P.M., and I have not sat down ONCE to read. Always think of something else I have to do.
I'm too guilty to just sit down and read?

BERYL, LBD is hanging predominantly in my closet so I see it every time I go in there. Reminds me to STAY AWAY FROM THE NUTS ALREADY!!
I've been on a nuts and dried Calimyrna figs (Costco) campaign, which is definitely NOT conducive to shedding the last few pounds I seem to want to hold on to. It's akin to sabotage, and I don't like where I'm going with that; it's a road I've traveled too many times and thought I wouldn't return.

KELLIE, back on track and getting well. Yay!

LORI, It's definitely beautiful California weather these last few days. My lemons are so confused; the persimmons disappeared in what seems like one day.

Unhappy that I couldn't just relax today, BUT, I managed not to forage in the kitchen. Lamb and zucchini from the garden tonight with those baby yams from TJs.

When you arise in the morning,

give thanks for the morning light, for your life and strength.

Give thanks for your food and the joy of living.

If you see no reason for giving thanks, the fault lies in yourself.

Went to Longwood Gardens today on a Groupon with DD2 and DH and Josephine and I'm so tired I could cry! It's hot out there today. Nights are gloriously cool, but daytime is too hot for me.
Rode my bike for an hour this morning, then to Longwood, so I haven't eaten yet. Not so smart, and I'm sort of hungry. I bought shrimp at the market the other night so I think it will be dinner tonight. Finger food.
DrSue, just taking ibuprofen for that kind of pain doesn't make me really happy--please get it checked.
Heidi is visiting relatives before their move to Virginia, per FB, so she's probably not internet available all the time.
Hope my team is having a good day! emoticon

Hey, team. Sound like everyone is doing well, and Beryl is amazing. It has been a rough week. Busy with work, not sleeping, keeping Q occupied, and generally not feeling great. I didn't sleep much at all until Thursday night. I was so exhausted, I fell asleep early (8) and slept hard until AWAKE at 3 am. I just made tea and stayed in bed reading. Then a Friday morning I woke up sat up and had the pain go from my left shoulder across my chest/ neck to my right. I figured it was from sleeping so hard on my side. I took ibuprofen, my shoulders loosened up, but I had this ache in my collarbones. I played scrabble after work with my BFF, and every time I leaned forward. By the end of last night, it hurt in my ribs down my back. Early this am it REALLY HURT! I took ibuprofen, and in and hour I could move. Anyway, I took a long walk with dog, I did not dare to get on my bike, because I can't move my neck too well. I took an hour bubble bath more ibuprofen, and I am fairly functional. Getting older certainly is not for sissies.

Nicky, Lori, I'm glad you have some cooler weather. We are back in the heat and humidity. It is hotter today than I think it ever got in a August.

Peg, enjoy your reunion. I head out to camp in 6 days. I can't wait. It should hit peak colors while i am there.

Has anyone heard from Heidi? How about Kathy?

Hello Team,

Well I'm happy to announce we have had two very chilly evenings and we are adoring them.

Oh Beryl, Ⓗⓐⓟⓟⓨ Ⓓⓐⓝⓒⓘⓝ
ⓖ, ᕼᗩᑭᑭY ᗪᗩᑎᑕIᑎG, ƃuıɔuɐp ʎddɐɥ, on 4 pounds down and looking good. Oh yeah. I'm glad the dinners went well too. Aside from the booby chic.

Kellie, I'm glad that you are finally seeing the end of your cold and catching up on sleep.

Peg, how fun, I had my high school bestie over last week and we had a great time. Our 40th reunion is soon approaching and I'm so nervous to go. I grew up with the richest kids. They are either much richer now or married into money. It just makes it harder when we live paycheck to paycheck.

Nicky, how are you liking our cool weather?

Dr. Sue, hello and thinking of you.

My Dad is visiting again and I couldn't be happier.

~hugs to all, Lori

Hi ladies, Back! I finally had the chance to catch up on sleep and the cold is finally leaving - i did good half the week with tracking and lost energy by mid week (it was awful - my chest was so congested) - I did manage to not overeat - and exercise was not so much! I need to catch up with everyone's posts, but wanted to saw a quick hi!

We went to my cousin's house warming party - it was nice - many many desserts. I managed to taste two things that looked amazing and had a sample from the bakery...i brought my family this wonderful blue berry bread from there. :) All three cats are out and getting along :) the 12 year old cat is very happy and seems to have more interest and energy! Pretty good - have a great evening! Kellie

Yeah, this getting older sucks, but at they say, it beats the alternative! The implant was put in right away. So odd, like a nail in my jaw. lol. I guess then I get the crown....I have 100% dental insurance which somehow does NOT cover 100%...
Warming up here again, which I could live without.
LBD--Little black dress. Didn't you say you had one for some affair coming up?
I am following SFT--simply filling technique on WW. It uses power foods, and you only count points for things that are not power foods--like wine. I like the program, it fits the way I live. You do have to recognize hunger and satisfaction signals--not full, satisfaction. Working on that....

BERYL!!! Tooth pulled!!! Will you get a partial or implant, or what? This getting older thing is so much the pits.
I'm such a nerd. what is "LBD"?

CONGRATULATIONS on the shedding of two more lbs AND the satisfaction of lookin' gooood when running into an old flame. I LOVE that!!
I know that feeling, and carry it with you. Write it down.

I keep a little journal to record Lbs shed, measurements, blood glucose, and random thoughts. I started writing in the back any compliment I receive that makes me glow. I transfer some of those from journal to journal so that I won't forget that feeling. Some days I just can't muster up the Little Miss Sunshine.

Will catch up on other posts later. I've neglected house cleaning and work since my little angel arrived.

We haven't had any new Team members in quite a while. I wonder if the new WW is more successful than PP++? I still get the WW Magazine but don't even look at it any more. The format drives me crazy! First success stories, then clothes to "enhance" or "Hide" your body, then recipes. The advertisements are all about fake food sweets and sweets substitutions. Really fries my bacon.

When you arise in the morning,

give thanks for the morning light, for your life and strength.

Give thanks for your food and the joy of living.

If you see no reason for giving thanks, the fault lies in yourself.

Hi team. it's been a busy couple of days and I've missed you all!
Holidays went as well as they could have gone. Rude woman with 2 kids was unbelievable--wearing a sundress with her breasts all hanging out. I swear to God. No one's eyes could go anywhere else. And her kids were poorly behaved--go figure!
But the food was good and there was a lot of it.
Tooth pulled yesterday--no pain at all! I swear. No swelling, pain, nada. I took a few ibuprofen to be social, but not really a need.
Good news is--still not eating so much, and last week I lost 2 and today I lost another 2. I have never weighed 146 in my life (well, perhaps in 7th grade....). And I saw an old flame yesterday--he has gained literally 150 pounds, and I have lost a lot. YAY!!!
Those cupcakes sound delicious Peg, and mazel tov to DD2 on her new home!
Lori, hope DD2 is doing well at her new job.
Kellie--hope school and work are going well and you're taking "you" time.
DrSue--big hugs to you.
Nicky--how is that LBD coming???
Have a grand Saturday team!!

Good morning Team! Autumn is truly here and the leaves are turning quickly.
Went out to dinner last night with my high school buds and it was delicious! Salmon on a bed of risotto w/asparagus. One of them is moving to SC in a couple of weeks.
Coyotes and foxes are around here, too, even though I'm not in the boonies. All of my kitties are indoor cats after one was hit by a car about 35 years ago.
Have to make some pb cream filled choc cupcakes for DD2's housewarming get together tomorrow...gluten free, of course.
Hoping all have a great day!

Nicky, I know what you mean about coyotes. My kitties have always been indoors, I like them to be safe. I think outdoor kitties die much sooner. At my DD1's, there are 3 outdoor/indoor cats that I have seen in her new neighborhood. I just pray they stay safe.

KELLIE, you're worth a million bucks! You're an inspiration.

For those who celebrate this New Year, may it be filled with laughter and happiness (and a few pounds shed!)!

Gunther and I managed an 8-mile walk today, even though it was quite warm. We walked to a pet store for which I had a coupon. I carry a backpack with extra water and to carry whatever purchases I make. I also use a fanny pack carried in front for my water and first-aid-type things, Epic Bars and treats for the G-man. I must resemble Gunther's sherpa.

DRSUE, having just been there, I really do feel your pain. Your angels will bring you the right kitty when it's time. We don't get the fur baby we want; we get the fur baby we need. Trust me on this.
As I've said before, I won't have another cat own me. I've lost too many to the coyotes. I can't keep them inside after they discover the dog door.
My cousin's cat, Lucky, is 20 years old! She lets him out in the day time when he asks (when she's home), but he must come in at night. She doesn't feed him real high end stuff, either. Although, cats won't eat junk, unlike dogs who will eat any garbage, so even the cheapest cat food must be fine.
My oldest cat was 16.

LORI, the old wiping-up-leaking-washing-machine-fitness-
minutes! Yikes!

give thanks for the morning light, for your life and strength.

Hello my Team,

Oh Dr. Sue, my heart is breaking for you. I never got the chance to meet Starbuck yet even so I loved him through the stories you shared. Of course you are grieving and so is Q. I still grieve over my Willie and Cottie, my beautiful girls, and they have been gone since 2008. Henry and Livvy help in magnitude but the love you feel for a fur baby continues on in our heart. I hope that you can adopt another kitty and soon. Somehow, they help heal our hearts. Just like Nicky and Guenther. We love you and are sending you mega hugs.

Beryl, relax and enjoy tonight. You have so earned it.

~much love and many hugs, Lori

Late check in for me friends. Day went by so fast because the kids started at 7:15 and just stopped. As the buses came in. lol
Off to walk before running home and starting my dinner. Table set, sangria made...that's all that matters! Just need to reheat everything. Best part. I love having everything done. And DS is coming in tomorrow and can cook my lamb roasts.
There will be lots and lots of liquor, I can tell you that. It'll be fine.
DrSue, sending lots and lots of virtual hugs to you. WIsh I was closer to help you out.
Have a great day team.

Thanks everyone. I can't believe how heartbroken I am. I think it is because this is the first time in 24 years that a feline has been absent in my home. I am also heartbroken, because Quint is so depressed. He didn't want to get out of bed. I did the onerous task of breaking down and throwing out litter boxes etc. When it all happened, my first thought was of the two remaining boys. When I arrived home and went to the hospital with my poor boy, I was informed they have a home. So they are supposed to go on Friday. I am trying to hold it together. Maybe they will back out....

Nicky, I use runkeeper and link it to my fitbit and MFP. I think it is very accurate for tracking mileage. The HRM is the most accurate cal burn. Runkeeper did have glitch a while back. I tracked my bike ride. It told me that I oide 52 miles. When I looked at the route, it was all over the place. Including in and out of the ocean. Riding at a pace of 25mph, wearing a scuba tank is a pretty impressive feat. They have since fixed it.

Peg, I'm glad you got to meet Starbuck too. Yes cats are more discerning. He did not go to everyone, but if I recall he got right in your lap. Ho hum, it will get better. A kitty will come to me soon. I need to get back to work emoticon

Hello Team,

It is late, I'm so sleepy. I had a extremely busy day, most of it sopping up all the water leaking from the washer. I used about 10 towels. Plumber came and fixed it and we are happy campers again. I also spent at least an hour scouring DD2's Bathroom. My Dad is coming to visit on the 27th, I'm very excited.

I'm so glad that it appears we are all on the mend.

Our weather is changing for the better and we are loving our cool, cool evenings.

~hugs, Lori

Hi guys,
Dinner went very well. Mom and my uncle spent the whole night talking. We didn't leave until after 9:30. Of course, their conversation repeated itself frequently and got loud as neither can hear well, but they didn't seem to notice and both of them had a great time. DB and SIL as well as my cousin and his wife were there,so it was quite enjoyable for me (particularly because I didn't feel like I was "on call" or had to "take care" of mom throughout the evening). It also helped that he lives on the river and while eating dinner I could watch the sunset and reflections on the water. A couple glasses of wine didn't hurt, either.
NICKY, I choose to believe in fairytales :)
KELLIE, hope you are feeling better. Your kitty family is certainly growing quickly.
BERYL and LORI, may I wish the best to you and your families for the new year.
DR SUE, hope you're doing ok.

Is anyone watching "Forever"? I think I have a new love (of course he's a little older than me emoticon )

Dr. Sue, I am so sorry about Starbuck – you gave him a wonderful life – all the walks on the beach! You are a wonderful person to give him such a wonderful life Sending you a big hug

Peg, I hope mom is ok – I hear you – I am glad you have a diagnosis and treatment coming

Beryl, feel better! Hope you are ok with school and all too..

Lori, have a great time with the family!! 

Nicky, you always make me feel like a million bucks even though I feel so crapy today with my cold 
-------------
It was a good day off – I took off the last two days to write – I don’t know how far I am getting here, but a little at a time. I’d day I have half written – Phew – draft due the end of oct., but the editing takes me the most time.

I have been trying to recover from my cold so I have had no aps, but definitely keeping good tabs on my food. The day and night quill was not working so hot, so I got zicam – I think this might be allergies too! I am going to bed soon!

I made some pasta for dinner, and got some of the plants in and put out the mums ! Yes, it is fall! Have a great evening. I will work locally the next two days – the office is 10 minutes away and then head to Phila on Friday 

Did i tell you we got the 3rd cat ? that is cricket - he's a doll. All white with little grey markings, All the cats are playing well. Sid got fixed yesterday and can't play for a week with the little ones.

PEG, remember some anecdotes from your visit with uncle and mom. Should be a hoot.
I had lunch with step mom and two of her friends last week. It helped so much to have the two friends, neither of whom are dotty.

Gunther and I did a little over 6 miles at 13+ min per mile!!! We're on fire! I wonder, could the GPS RunKeeper be incorrect? I mean, it tracks miles from the GPS, so I don't THINK it's wrong. I paid no attention to the calorie burn, though. It was flat walking, and my HRM is probably more accurate. I don't really care about calories burned any way. We're not machines. It's not like it's exactly calories in and calories out----as if hormones and such didn't play a significant role. Geesh. RunKeeper is a fun App, and it syncs with SP. It has a "walk" feature, as well, which is what I use.

LORI, good times with family and grandchildren. Happy for you. Are you following OMNI maintenance (so to speak)?

BERYL, my tummy is now fine. It started on Saturday; today is Tuesday.

KELLIE, thank you for the reminder to pack and track. I get COMPLACENT. I can't afford to be COMPLACENT. I'm not naturally thin. Lifetime of working on it. It hit me that one doesn't just get fit and then, VOILA! You're fit and at goal weight forever after. That's only in fairytales. Darn.

When you arise in the morning,

give thanks for the morning light, for your life and strength.

Give thanks for your food and the joy of living.

If you see no reason for giving thanks, the fault lies in yourself.

Peg, I'm hysterical at the thought of the dinner. "Always look on the bright side of life...." Have a drink while you're there too....
Lori, so glad you had a good time!!
Stomach miraculously better today. Unfortunately I'm hungry, but trying not to eat much. Did have breakfast, will try some lunch, or yogurt maybe, instead. Don't want to either have a set back or regain my lost weight!! There is an up side!!
LOVE this weather! Enjoy the cold mornings and nights, the leaves turning....love it all.
Kellie is in Philly, or just outside it. We're all not that far from each other.
have a good day team! emoticon

Good morning Team!
DR SUE, I am so sorry to hear about Starbuck, but what a great last weekend for him. I'm glad I met him and was so honored to be accepted by him. (I know, Q accepted me, too, but - and don't let Ruby or Q hear me say this - cats are just so much more discerning than dogs) Another thought...did the adoption work out? Maybe Starbuck made way for the little boys, sort of like Bryce and Gunther....I'm thinking of you.
BERYL, my stomach is still off and on although my food intake certainly hasn't decreased. Seems like during the good times I make up for the bad. Hoping the meds will work on mom's hallucinations. Your holiday foods sound great (as always) so it's no wonder that so many people are coming.
LORI, so glad you had a wonderful time. Both DR SUE and I are on the east coast...me in NY and DR SUE by Boston. BERYL is here, too, only farther south and KELLIE is just a little west in PA (I think..or is it MD?)
NICKY, hope DS heals quickly and your broth should help. It's great that Gunther has picked up the pace and is getting into the routine.
Tonight I'm taking mom out to visit my last remaining uncle (her BIL and he's the one I did a pastel for last year) With her mental confusion (and his) this should be quite the experience. I'll make sure to have a bottle of wine waiting for me when I get home.
Hoping everyone has a good day and hello to all who drop by.

Peg

Hello Girly Girls,

I'm back home today. I had an awesome time with DD1 and kidlets. Wow, I was sad to leave.

My Beryl, I, too, was sick to my stomach, for about 36 hours while at DD1's home. It was just awful and I'm so happy to over it. I hope that you, too, will be free from it soon. Wow, so much cooking for the holidays. I know that it will all be so delicious.

Peg, yea for your glorious day. It's cooler but still hot. Remind me of where you live and Dr. Sue. I met the family who moved into the house my DD1 moved out of for their new home. She is from Michigan and has culture shock from the hot weather in Fresno, California. I'm also glad that your meeting with the doctor re: your Mom turned up something concrete. I've never heard of her diagnosis, and I hope that it gets under control.

Kellie, no steps until this weekend at DD1's, many too, chasing after my babies. I hope that your cold is gone or at least on the mend.

Hello Nicky, I hope all is well with you and you are enjoying the cooler weather.

OMG, Dr. Sue, I'm so saddened by the news of Starbuck. I'm glad that you were able to help in in his last hours. I'm sending you a big hug, we will miss him.

It is so hard losing our beloved fur babies.

~hugs to all, Lori

Oh, DrSue, I am so sorry. My heart hurts for you. What a grand last weekend Starbuck had with you though, until he didn't any more because he couldn't. He's up there with all our fur babies now..
Peg, do they think the new med will help with the hallucinations? I hope so.
My mother has decided she needs a new car. Of course, she sold my dad's new car despite our telling her to get rid of her old Toyota and keep his new one....more drama....
And the hits keep on coming. Friends I invited 2 weeks ago for dinner who never responded suddenly said yes. And my SIL who never comes for dinner is coming. Yippee. I'm overbooked for both nights and having chest pain.
Peg, how long did it take you to get over this stomach thing? I ate my frittata I brought for breakfast for lunch, had a glass of wine and some cheese tonight, thought I was hungry, but now I'm not. I'm not nauseated which is good, but not hungry. I may be dying.....LOL
Off to make MORE lentils for my lentil and spinach salads.....
Have a good night team!

DRSUE, my heart goes out to you. It never gets easier. As I've said before, those of us who love animals must pay that price of eventual loss.

PEG, you are a fabulous daughter! Thank heaven the strangers passing through your mom's house are benign, maybe even keeping her company. ;)

BERYL, congrats on the shedding of a some pounds. I, too, have been experiencing a bit of tummy stuff. I woke up dizzy (a first for me) on Saturday and just hung out all day. I'm okay now, just no energy. Change in season maybe introduces new bugs to our systems?

KELLIE, love it whenever you check in.

DS has a stress fracture on his lower leg and is on crutches. I made him bone broth from grass-fed beef; simmered in the crockpot for about 30 hours. I used 3 tbsp of apple cider vinegar to help leach the minerals from the bones. Bones to heal bones, I guess.

Gunther and I are venturing out farther and farther away from home lately. We went 4.7 miles on Sunday at 18 min/mi, compared to the 26 min/mi we were averaging when we first started on our walks. Bryce and I would average 14 min miles and go for 8-10 miles. Gunther will be only 2 on October 4, so I'm thinking he has years left to walk with me. HAHA!!! He'll get old before I will!!! emoticon Maybe that's not a very polite way for me to think. . .

When you arise in the morning,

give thanks for the morning light, for your life and strength.

Give thanks for your food and the joy of living.

If you see no reason for giving thanks, the fault lies in yourself.

Good evening team. We had a good time at camp. However, I lost my Starbuck. emoticon He has had heart disease and been on meds foe years. We laughed because with all of the people who said they wanted to come-and didn't DH and I discussed me leaving Starbuck at home. He slept in my suitcase all week. Anyway we were having a great time- Starbuck and I even had a dance, which he loved. An hour later he was dragging his front leg and in respiratory distress. He must have blown blood clots. His right front leg became paralyzed. I sedated him, and it was better but not comfortable. Ultimately, he made it home today to MAH, was getting worse and distant, so I let him go. emoticon

Happy Monday Team!
It is a beautiful day today.
Just got back from having the jetta's oil changed. Found out that I need new rotors and pads on the front, so that's scheduled. Also scheduled the new furnace installation. Watercolors this afternoon.
Mom's dr. appt went well and she has a med to try. we also have a diagnosis...lewey body dementia which explains the hallucinations and some other things. She'll go back in 3 weeks for med adjustment.
BERYL, sorry you're not feeling totally well. My stomach hasn't been right off and on for a while...figured it was all this dealing with mom. Congrats on being down 2. Love that WW saying.
KELLIE, congrats on your loss, too!
Hope all my teamies are well.
A big hello to all who drop in.

Happy Sunday team!
Kellie, feel better! Yay on down a pound.
I felt great, now today I am not well again. I am functioning just not hungry and vaguely nauseated. The good news is I'm down 2 pounds!! As they say in WW--"we're only 1 stomach flu away from goal weight..." emoticon
Peg, how did the meeting go? Was the doc supportive? Your brother?
I'm in a frenzy of cooking here. My 3 soups are done, my grains are done, my carrots are done, my hummus is done, my turkey breast done, meatballs and cabbage done....and I'm NOT DONE!! lol
Break over. Back to the kitchen. The good thing is I'm not tempted at all!
Have a good evening team. Hope everyone is well. emoticon

Good afternoon team!
The pool is closed and although it's sad because we all know what that means in terms of seasons, it's good because it is one less thing to think about. emoticon
BERYL, feeling better? No minimizing taken...I will take (and appreciate) any smiles I can get. The oddest thing about this (and then I will just shut up about the whole mama-drama thing) is that she's not freaked by the thought that unknown people are in and out of her house, annoyed, yes; freaked, no. I'd be on the phone to the police in a heartbeat if I thought strangers were in my house. Must just be a part of it and I'm thankful that she is not scared.
KELLIE, it sounds very busy for you. Good for you having a loss.
DR SUE, good luck on the prospective parents.
LORI, glad you could enjoy some time with your friend.
NICKY, hope you and Gunther are surviving the heat.
Sounds like our HEIDI is making her way through WY and MT.
A good day to all.

Hello Team,

It was another hot one, but got out a little with my friend.

Peg, I'm glad you had your pastels class and that the Momma drama is over for the time being.

Dr. Sue, you didn't answer about how many of your fur babies are going to camp.

Oh Beryl, I'm so sorry about your stomach and I'm praying it gets well soon.

Hello Nicky, how was your weather today. Did you and Gunther get out for a walk?

Hi Kellie, glad you checked in. Great job packing and tracking.

~hugs, Lori

Good evening Team, just checking in.
Had a great class today which was sandwiched in between mama-drama. She just called to tell me she had found what she couldn't find and accused me of taking...sigh
DR SUE, have a safe trip to camp.
BERYL, hope you feel better.
A good evening to all!

Don't you love autocorrect? I'm sorry you are not feeling well. Take it easy. I can't remember if it was Peter or Paul that recommended red wine to settle the stomach in the bible. It does work sometimes, just saying. I am so bored I can't stand it! emoticon

DrSue--"thatching the Thule"???? What the heck?? LOL
I have some weird stomach thing. I NEVER have a weird stomach thing. I thought I ate bad chicken last night, but DH is fine, so it's just me. I have eaten nothing today, but did drink water. Felt nauseated all day. Just now starting to NOT feel nauseated, just so tired I could cry. I am not exercising today. I do think walking outside in this glorious weather would get the cobwebs out of my head, but I fear I'd have to lie down and sleep in the middle of it! I will keep my stomach empty today. NOthing sounds good even. You KNOW this isn't me!!
I agree with the portions DrSue. I can eat too much of anything, even good food. And I do. My kids grew up with Hamburger Helper, I'm embarrassed to say. I thought all that stuff was a time saver. Not at all. It takes no longer to make things from scratch then from a mix. That's what I found anyway.

I've had my share of frozen pizzas and TV dinners, but those were always the exception not the norm. My mom Is a terrible cook, but we still sat down and had a home cooked meal every night. Granted my dad would get home from work and out would be the Doritos, or cheese and crackers. I eat such a varied pretty clean diet now. I just have watch my portions, and then there is wine. My new goal is watching my calcium to make sure I get enough. I never thought it would be an issue as I do eat a lot of dairy and greens, but it seems I'm falling short. I've added a glass of milk with breakfast.

I did my 30 min, mini non workout spin this morning. Morning exercise seems to loosen up my body and focus my mind.

Peg enjoy your class. You won't enjoy the pow wow with Doc, but you will be happy you did it.

I hope the heat breaks for you Ca. Members of the team. It is beautiful here. After lunch I took Q for a 50 min walk back to the hospital. He was a slug this morning, didn't want to get off the couch when I came to work or even after DH had lunch and was coming here. So I made him walk, and he was a happy pup. I think he gets tired of the multiple 15 min walks too and from the office. He wants a WALK! Well, he better be prepared cause it is weekend at the camp, and his best buddy is coming with him, as is mine and another friend. It will be one FULL truck.
DH just had the roof rack installed on the new truck and is at thatching the Thule as we speak.

Have a great rest of the day!

I'm so gld you have your pastels class today Peg!
I'm also glad the doc is on board. Things would be way worse if he wasn't. DOnt' know what that means, but you'll find out. Each doc is different.
I thought I ate some bad chicken last night, but DH is fine, so it must be something else. I have eaten nothing today and nothing is what I will continue to eat until I feel better. UGH. I am never sick!
The proliferation of prepackaged, no nutrition, easy to fix foods is scary. Yet it's what most of America eats, I fear. Not other countries, where they still cook. From scratch.
But dark chocolate is a good food, right?????

Good morning Team! Another beautiful day. Hoping our west coasters get a break in their weather.
I hear what everyone is saying about what is being bought in grocery stores and I think back to all I have read and heard about the added sugars and salt and the "addictive" quality to some of the flavorings that are being developed. Reread a post I did on SP in 2011 after a 60 Minutes episode about that very thing and noted how I ended it with a commitment to cleaner, basic eating. Well, that didn't work too well, did it? Always a struggle.
Today is pastels class and I'm anxious to get back to the new painting. Heard back from mom's doc and he's on board with the discussion with my brother and me as well as exploring if any meds would be of help to her...can't wait...not
Hoping everyone has a great day.

Peg

I notice the same super market thing, too, DRSUE, especially at the big box stores. We've been sold a bill of goods, for sure, by food manufacturers. Saddest of all is to see little kids who are on the road to obesity. The fight will be on for the rest of their lives.

Brutally hot here today, but it's going to cool down a bit toward the end of this week.

DRSUE, have a blast at your camp! Wish I could tag along. DH gave me a .357 Magnum for an anniversary present one year (what a romantic devil!). Don't kill bear, though. I kill Coke cans.

BERYL, aaaahhhh, the drama queen mother. Sigh
My step-mom does a whole lot of repeating and reliving events during my father's illness---what the doctor told her, how badly the rehab hospital treated him (as if I wasn't present for all of this), on and on. I have learned to let it go in one ear and out the other and still look engaged and interested.

PEG, your angels have something else in mind for you other than the pastels class. Any way, you'll be warm and cozy this winter! AND, you have new pastels to play with! What a lucky gal you are. Besides, oftentimes more can be learned from whimsical experimentation than from a teacher. You've got the goods; inspiration is a bit harder to come by.

Going to play with my step mom in the Dreaded Valley on Thursday. Should be a cold snap, 90 degrees. She's 94. LOVES the Soup Plantation, so I needn't worry about going off Plan.

When you arise in the morning,

give thanks for the morning light, for your life and strength.

Give thanks for your food and the joy of living.

If you see no reason for giving thanks, the fault lies in yourself.

Hello Team,

Today is a good day for me. I'm feeling more alive and even went on a small errand. Still 100's

Dr. Sue, that story gave me goose bumps. How awesome. Thanks for sharing something positive with humanity these days.

Okay, I agree, I hate all the food/garbage people are shoveling into their bodies and shopping carts. Cooking healthy is no picnic, tho, I've been doing this since I started Omni. Tonight I am eating some baked chicken (toaster oven, way too hot for oven), with Good Seasonings Italian Dressing pckt, 1/2, 1/2 cup freshly grated parmesan cheese and minced garlic. I'm getting so hungry as it bakes. Last night I made my baked broccolli and cauliflower, with olive oil, parmesan cheese (again freshly grated), and minced garlic. I could eat that all day long, yum. I'm thinking I'll eat some fresh Brussels Sprouts steamed too.

Peg, gosh I'm so sorry about your class. Yes, there is always next year but it doesn't make it feel any better. ~hugs and I hope that the doctor calls you back and soon.

Oh, my Beryl, how momentus, you must try to keep your Dad in the forefront of your heart and mind, to honor him and maybe the rest, family drama, will not be as rude or burdoning to you.

Nicky, sorry about the sweaty mess we are after spending time out in this heat. Heck I'm not out in it right now and I am sweating, when will this end?

~well I'm off to finish dinner so I can eat it~ ~hugs

~ Lori ~

Good afternoon Team!
DR SUE, that is an amazing story. Just goes to show that there is employee loyalty when they work in a place that deserves that loyalty. emoticon ARTHUR T.!!! Enjoy your time at camp. Weather has been drizzly and dreary off an on all day, but then it's supposed to clear up.
BERYL, why would they want to mention to you that people will be staying at your house? Hope the unveiling and family drama goes smoothly. Hooray for the blinds! It's been pretty low key with mom except for her complaints about the kids who come in her house and mess with her stuff, eat her food and leave a bag of plastic grocery bags in her kitchen. (No, there are no kids running in and out of her house) Friday is her appt with her primary doc so we'll be checking out if meds might help. Still haven't heard back from his office re an appt. for my brother and I to sit down with him.
Did I tell you guys how bummed I am. Last May I wanted to sign up for a pastels workshop being given about 30 mi. from my home with one of my favorite pastelists. It was full and so I went on a waiting list. Of course last week, the day after I mailed off my deposit check for and committed to a new furnace, the venue called to say that someone had cancelled last minute and as I was local would I be able to fill that spot. Had to decline and boy, am I unhappy about that. Oh well, another year.
Spent today bringing in the deck furniture and cleaning the pool for Thurs.' closing. Also planted two more winterberry bushes that I bought yesterday. I'm beat. Just received a new pastel box that I had ordered so tonight there will be organizing and culling of pastels. I figure if I can just set it up so that it is handy, then maybe, just maybe, I'll do some at home.
Wish I could send some of this cool to you, NICKY and LORI. Can't send any rain though as we are mighty dry and the recent storms have been minor. Wouldn't you know it. We're in a dry period and DD2 just bought a house with a well. emoticon
Hoping all have a good day.

What an interesting story DrSue. I hadn't heard it. I do see the carts of people in the markets. I see what they are eating on the boardwalk, and in restaurants, and I'm appalled. Totally appalled. No reason they are doing that other than choice. Healthy food takes thought, and time to prepare. If you buy on sale, you can get good deals. But you have to think ahead. And plan. And most importantly--COOK! Not reheat. Not microwave. Not drive through.
I'm so excited for you going to camp! Not about the bears...
Nicky, that's awful about the heat and humidity. Stay cool and hydrated.
I have chicken thighs I defrosted for dinner, with roasted sweet potatoes, salad, and roasted green beans. YUM. After zumba. And DH will pick up our new blinds tonight. Cant' wait.
Hope the mom drama is going OK Peg. My mom is planning my dad's unveiling for the end of October--that's where the headstone is "unveiled" and the official mourning period is over for the family. It's a short service, then we're going to lunch. BUt my mother is making this such big drama, and I KNOW my mother, sister, and niece will be staying at my house, although no one has the courtesy to ask me yet. My DB lives too far out, and DD2 can't possibly have company at this point. Whatever.....
OK, enough whining. Back to work.
Have a good day team! emoticon

Good morning. I'm getting so excited to get to camp. My SIL ran into a bear up there recently. All fine. I will look into hunting season.

I am doubtful any of you heard about the "market basket saga". MB is a big New England supermarket chain, it is family owned, and there has been an ongoing family feud. It had come down to the CEO getting ousted by his cousin and the board who controlled slightly more than the CEO. The CEO Arthur T. Is beloved in the company. He knows his employees and has great benefits. So he got fired- almost all of the employees walked of the job. This is not a union operation. The employees called for a boycott. Essentially they shut down the company for 6 weeks! No one went, distributors refused to ship. It was incredible. The governors of Mass and NH got involved. Finally the cousin sold out to Arthur T.

So, I had to go grocery shopping, and MB has the best prices, but it is quite the cross section of humanity. It was crazier than I have ever seen. There were close to a thousand people in the place. The funny thing is that it was so surreal that every one was joking about it. The employees were so happy and I was impressed with how they really moved things along. However I was waiting in line and looking at people's shopping carts. No wonder we have an obesity issue in this country. I never have seen so many frozen pizzas and other tv style dinners in my life!! So much garbage, and it was all people with kids. I was appalled.
There is part of me that wants to scream, I'll never go back. However, when i checked out with 8-9 bags of groceries for 62 dollars, I know I have suck it up. I am sure it will settle down.

Back to work!

DRSUE, send some of that COLD here; while you're at it,send some rain, too! Hot, muggy, drought. Ant invasion. I can't remember when Los Angeles was this desperately hot and muggy. I can take the heat, but when humidity is added in, I go positively limp.

Went really early on our walk this morning and finally gave up. Gunther had to stop and rest a couple of times, and he's only two! By the time we got back from a 5-miler, my hair was not damp, it was dripping wet!

Summers in CT used to be like this. Take a shower and not able to get dry.
But, like everything else, it, too, will pass.

How cool to have a another Dobe, DRSUE! Sure hope they get along. Gunther loves all dogs he meets, as did my beloved Bryce.

When you arise in the morning,

give thanks for the morning light, for your life and strength.

Give thanks for your food and the joy of living.

Hi team. Long day, but a good one.
Lori, OMG, I just got floaters too. In my left eye. So disturbing and annoying, but I can live with them. They get better and worse, but they never go away. I find myself swatting things that aren't there.....I look ridiculous.
So nice and cool here. I LOVE IT! Wore a light jacket to work today!
I hate those little gnats. I have no plants, and they come in. UGH. Like the little fruit fly thingies. I hate anythng that flies, creeps, slithers.....keep them out and me in!

Hello Team,

It is so hot, over 100 degrees. I melt in this weather. My FM flares up to Extreme. Every part of me is hurting. I hate telling you all so, I even have a new oddity. I have floaters in my right eye so bad that I'm getting migraines from it. I did get to the eye doctor who said only floaters and there is NOTHING he can do about it, comes with age emoticon

I need to go out and water my gardens, however, going out, in this heat, is just not something that I'm wanting to do.

Dr. Sue, I hope that it won't even be colder at camp. Will you be taking all three of your cat babies and Q, too?

Kellie, you've got this. I've learned that staying away from carbs, anything processed seems to maintain my weight. I just don't know how to incorporate in foods like corn, carrots, potatoes and my beloved popcorn. Yikes. What, exactly, do you you do to prevent the little gnats when you bring in your plants?

Peg, it's okay to bring your drama. L-rd knows I have way too much and bring it here. How is our Melinda, doing?

My Beryl, I know what the whole blind thing feels like. Oh man, hanging anything in our house is so difficult. We went with Blinds.com and got black out accordion shades that either go up or down from the top. It gets so hot that we needed these to block out the heat.

Nicky, yes, yuck. Glad that you and Guenther are able to walk some every day. I'm doing the Carb/protein thing too. I'm not yet concerned about fat as I learned way too much on Omni to change anything yet.

~hugs to all, Lori

Good afternoon Team!
BERYL, Cheers for Pajama Day! We used to have Casual for a Cause day...you would donate $ to whatever cause it was and then could dress down, except we in couldn't because you never knew when you might have to be in a courtroom. So, I got to wear a pin that said "Would if I Could".
DR SUE, I would love to take your little boys, but somehow I don't think Miss Melinda would take kindly to that and I'm not willing to risk another onslaught of spraying. Sorry. When I biked last Friday my hands got very cold (and numb). Thinking I may have to dig out a pair of gloves (that is such a sad sad thought). How nice that Q has a new friend; should be fun to watch them play. Have fun at camp. I don't know if early bear season is on by your camp. Parts of NY have it now and it started a week ago, but I don't know how long it lasts. Be careful (of bears and hunters)
My watercolor class was just cancelled so I guess I'll change and hit the yard work I've been putting off.
Wishing everyone a great day.

Pajama day sounds great! My clients might not think so!

Nicky, I love my polar monitor too. The newer ones have a low level Bluetooth ability and that too can sync with fitbit, MFP and probably SP and others. I am not replacing the one I have until it dies.

Peg, I'm sure your new pastel is incredible. Good luck with DM and all the appointments.

Kellie awesome on another new baby. I'm still hoping someone will want my boys, but I am becoming resigned that they will end up here. One is very bold and I worry about him trying to escape. If that is the case I will have to separate them.

Lori, I hope the B12 helps your ear.

I met my new neighbor this morning. His name is Romeo, ( pet parents Michael and Jamie) and he is a Black and Tan Doberman Pinscher!! They all seem very nice. He is big-stands taller than Quint by a few inches. It will be fun to see them together. (Q decided to sleep in today)

Good Monday morning team.
DrSue, be careful! It was cool, not cold. I did wear a sweatshirt when I rode my bike yesterday, but it was too much once I got going. LOVE THIS!! Sorry....
Today was pajama day at work. It's Spirit Week. I asked staff on Friday if everyone wore pajamas. Yup. SO here I am....one of the ONLY ONES!!! LOL. I'm very comfy though...so there is that. And I have lots of spirit!
Gym after work, then picking up Jo.
Have a good day team!

I will be short, as I need to go to,work. I did catch up on all of your posts. It is not cool here it is COLD! I did a 21 mile ride yesterday morning. I work long leggings and a long sleeved shirt with thumb holes, so only my fingers were exposed. Not enough. They felt cold, but not aweful, then I was starting to have trouble shifting the big gears. I realized my toes were numb. I got home made tea, snuggled into a blanket. After 30 min I started shivering pretty seriously, that my chattering teeth woke the dog. Everything was fine, but we went from making sure I carried enough water to avoid dehydration last weekend, to hypothermia yesterday. It's colder today. I brought in my lemon tree, Peg they don't like it under 50 degrees.

I made the roasted tomato and garlic soup from CL yesterday. So that is ready for this week.

Happy Birthday Heidi.

We could not see the Northern lights here due to clouds. If you go to NECN.com they have some incredible photos of the lights. To me the most impressive is the one taken from the Mt. Washington observatory.

Heading to camp this weekend!

Good evening Team.
KELLIE, glad to hear you have a plan and as for the snow...I'm am right there with ya, sistah...it can stay away.
NICKY, glad to hear from you and especially that you and Gunther are pretty much on the same page. Not much to read in my posts....moaning and groaning about the weather to come, moaning and groaning about being busy, moaning and groaning about mama-drama...you get the idea...just a lot of moaning and groaning.
BERYL, your house sounds lovely and your soup sounds wonderful. Thinking it's time to put my flannel sheets back on.
A big hello to all.

Hello Ladies ! It was a great weekend! Went to WW yesterday – my WI is a little up, but that I have a plan. I have packed and tracked already for tomorrow. I had a couple meals during the week that were hard to count, I know better for next week. Need to get back to 150 – 6 pounds to go

I spent the majority of the day writing for school and Tom and I went to the trail for a walk – I’m about 14K – the total mileage is 5 miles – we walked that. The weather is pretty cool here.

We are in the process of adopting a little grey kitten for Sid – he definitely needs a friend and we spent about an hour at the shelter. It was between two – at least we know at the end of the day that the other cat will eventually find a home!
------
Peg, the snow can stay away. I set up my grow lights and ordered a couple shelves. The plants are too nice to lose!

Beryl, thanks for the support with the weight. I just don’t want to gain anymore. I like the idea with the tomatoes. I bet they will be delicious as sauce. My grandmom would can them too. Wait a month for longwood, the colors will be breathtaking. Your home sounds so nice!

Lori, yes, I get sompotting them to reduce the pests. It’s not bad, but some of them get on the carpet.

Nicky, I like that you have a new pattern with the puppy. Walking a hour every day is great.
--
Back to writing! For those who asked me last week – yes, I get writer’s block – I will brainstorm, shift to writing on paper and back to the computer to get myself going – I can’t waste too much time ….

Have a great sunday

I'm Kellie :)

Peg, you have a very busy week. I hope you have a massage or something else fun scheduled.
Went to Blinds To Go and found fabulous wood blinds. PERFECT. The color is perfect--light wood with caramel accents. Plus they were on sale. My favorite words. lol.
Went to Ikea with DD and Jo and got my lampshades and 1 new lamp. Now at least I can see, and there is color in the room.
Loving the teal dining room chairs. I need to get a runner for the table with that in it. I need pillows and stuff for the living room too. Now is the fun stuff!
Soup made for dinner tonight.Yes, it's that cool! Tofu, chicken, farro, green beans, corn, greens...whatever I had in the fridge went in it! I'm starving.
Watching The Roosevelts tonight on TV. I guess I'll watch SOA Tuesday nite, since tomorrow is the finale of Master Chef.
Have a good nite team!

DRSUE, thank you for the FitBit info. I love my new Polar FT60 HRM, and I started using RunKeeper because it syncs with SP. I started using SP four years ago now, and it would be a real hassle to transfer all that information over to MFP at this point. Besides, I don't care that much about calories; I count carbs/fat/protein.

This little eyelid infection thing l've been dealing with really brought me down a bit. It will be 40 days on antibiotics. It's stupid, I know, because it is getting better and going away. I've added proteolytic enzymes to "eat" up the dead stuff/protein debris and am consuming tons of raw fermented vegetables and probiotic and prebiotic supplements. I'm being proactive AND following my eye doc's advice, so why am I complaining and blue? Go figure.

So hot and muggy and awful here, as LORI will attest. I feel fat and lazy.

Gunther and I are almost on the same page these days!

DRSUE, RABIES!!!!????? So scary.

BERYL, I got plantation shutters for two windows in the guest bathroom, paid a fortune, but never regretted it for one minute. So easy to clean; looks fabulous; lets in light yet can allow for complete privacy. Had to cajole DH to go for it. Wish I could do it in the whole house. My kitchen windows and French doors all face the back yard, so I don't have any window coverings in there.

Really have been racking up the Fitness Minutes since Gunther has come to live here. We walk for an hour every morning, and then I come back and do something for ME. With my Bryce, we would walk for a couple hours three times a week and cover a lot of mileage, but I would be too pooped or too busy to do anything afterward.

PEG, I'll have to read through your posts to see what's new with you.

Fall is a very energetic time for me, too, BERYL. AND, I am a "Fall" Season (Remember "Color Me Beautiful" anyone?) and love to wear Fall colors.

Hugs for all my Team.

When you arise in the morning,

give thanks for the morning light, for your life and strength.

Give thanks for your food and the joy of living.

If you see no reason for giving thanks, the fault lies in yourself.

Good morning Team! Sunny and cool today. At noon I'm heading over to the studio/gallery where I take classes to help my instructor hang the new show. It's works from friends of hers, photos and paintings. This is going to be a busy week, I think...mom has dr. appts, of course there's pilates and painting classes (I started a new pastel on Wed. and so far so good...but that leaves a lot of opportunity to mess it up), the yard work I didn't get done, putting the deck stuff away, pool closing and the list goes on...
LORI, yes, bringing in little bugs can be a problem. I usually rinse the plants off well and watch carefully for the first couple of weeks for any who might have stowed away in the dirt. (and that's one of the reasons that I don't have many plants that come in for the winter, the other being I only have a couple of plant friendly windows)
BERYL, I finally dropped my comforters off at the cleaners and last night I wish I had one on my bed, quite chilly. I can't believe that Rosh Hashana is this close already. Unbelievable how fast this year is going. The old saying...Time flies when you're having fun...

Hoping all my west coast teamies get a break in the weather.

Happy Sunday ladies!
Cold? I'm wearing my bathrobe this morning!! Slept with blankets! It's GLORIOUS!!! Fall is my absolute favorite season. Just feels like a renewal to me.
Need to get blinds for the living room/dining room. Thought we had them yesterday, but not thrilled, so no. I wanted plantation blinds, but cost will be an issue, so regular wooden ones will work. I saw fabric ones I liked, but DH thought they looked too "rec room" and he's probably right. DD wanted us to go to Longwood with her and Jo, but I have to get these windows covered. I"m on a time crunch here since Rosh Hashana is in less than 2 weeks and my cooking for company has to be done, and I want the house to look nice. So Longwood will wait. It's not going anywhere!
Hopng to bike ride before off to shopping. Have a good day team! emoticon
And happy birthday to our Heidi!! emoticon

Hello Team,

Hot and yucky out here. Tonight DH and I went to se A Dolphin Tale 2, it was really good, we enjoyed it.

Yes, Beryl, we are going in September 2015. We will be taking the Disney Cruise to the Western Caribbean. We will stop in Jamaica, that is where DH and I had our honeymoon. So, needless to say we are excited and happy.

Tonight my ear is terrible again. I just took more B12 and am hoping it will go away again.

Peg and Kellie, I cannot believe it is cold out by you. Just a question, when you bring your plants in, don't the little gnats come it too? I bought to small pots of baby roses from Trader Joes today, so very pretty.

Let's all have an awesome Sunday, ~hugs, Lori

Good early afternoon ladies! Gray and cool here. I LOVE IT!!
Did a short 40 minute walk before WI--stayed the same. Least it's not a gain.
Kel, I'm so happy to hear you took a day off! Don't worry about the weight. You know it'll come off.
Peg, sorry you didn't get to use the pool more this summer. Are you reading anything good now?
I have so many tomatoes from my plants! I boiled some water and took the skin off a dozen or so, and will freeze them. Has anyone successfully done that? THen I can use them in my tomato sauce or other cooked foods.
Off to have lunch and take my Saturday siesta! Have a good day

Good morning Team! A lot cooler here and my heat actually came on for a bit. So, I just mailed out the down payment for the new furnace.
BERYL, I went outside a couple of times last night but didn't see anything. The sky may have looked a little lighter, but nothing more than that.
LORI, sorry DS was "in a mood", but at last you were able to see DGS play.
KELLIE, sid is one lucky kitty (and so is his soon to be chosen sibling). I'm thinking about bringing in the cacti and baby lemon trees that I have in pots and were outside for the summer. I don't think they like cold nights.
Oh man, furnace turning on, bringing plants in and the pool closing on Thurs...you know what this means ladies... emoticon emoticon and then emoticon ...sigh
DR SUE, still no foaming? good!
Hi NICKY and furnitureless HEIDI.
A big hello to everyone who drops by.

Peg

Lori, aren't you going on a cruise with them? Next year? This year? I seem to remember that. Or did I make that up?
Cooler now--feels awesome! Turned the a/c off.
Babysat a bit tonight so they could go out. Jo was so tired she cried so I put her in bed. THen watched Judge Judy and was happy.

Hello Team,

I spent yesterday with my DS and DGS. DGS had a soccer practice and I wanted to be there in person. My son was in a mood, ugh, but it was great seeing my DGS.

Dr. Sue, yea, about not foaming at the mouth, lol.

I'm doing NOTHING this weekend but resting and gardening, way too hot out there.

I hope that everyone has a wonderful and relaxing weekend, Lori

p.s. I forgot to tell you that my brother and sister-in-law, are on a Disney Cruise to the Panama Canal. They are being diverted from two ports as there is a possible hurricane growing, in Mexican seas, called Tropical Storm Odile. I'm both excited for them and scared at the same time
