Good morning ladies. Another hot sunny one. I did hear Friday will begin to feel like fall. I can't wait!
DrSue, you'll have lovely weather at camp when you go back! Should be so nice. Is your schedule ugly until you leave?
Hope everyone else is doing well.
Have a great day

Good Morning team! In the upper 80's again today! Yuk! Hottest and latest days in recorded history for Sept! Fall returns soon. I leave Sat after work at noon, for the lake for 2 weeks. Peg, I will let you know!

Peg, your garden sounds bountiful. We had a bad broccoli season here. Apples are looking ok.

Beryl, I'm sorry about the cold. I'm glad it's improving. Unfortunately the gutter rats were the human variety. I've got one guy who is complaint about his bill 2 weeks after the fact. He thought it would be X, yet he never got an estimate. Very veiled threats about what a small town this is, he knows all these people. My staff are trying to cover their butts, aka lying. Blah blah. I am sicking DH on him.

Lori, I'm glad you and DH had a good time with the GKs. Good luck with the Rheumy! Enjoy the time with BFF.

Nicky, I hope the wedding was phenomenal! Safe travels.

Kellie, glad you are safely in London. Enjoy. Perhaps you can post a few highlight here too.

Big hello to the rest of our team, Corrine, Kathie and Lynn too.

Thanks for letting us know you got there safely Kellie! Enjoy after you rest up
Lori, hope the doc can help your pain.
Had a lovely day with Josephine at the wine festival. She's just so much fun. It was way too hot though, even with the big umbrella we brought. I was uncomfortable. Cold is better, the sinus swelling is now down and it's all coming out, which is annoying but better.
Hope my team is well. Have a good evening!

Hello Dear Team

Beryl I hope that those two benedryl helped you to sleep. I used to use it instead of xanax, but I have RLS and it makes it flare up, it is right on the side effects and man it is bad. You are also sore? That pain was worsened by the masseuse? It is probably all that lactic acid she moved around.

Peg, a clean house how wonderful. Tho, I thought you meant the goonies frightened you and do when vacuuming you were scared, lol. I listen to podcasts, always crime, and when I'm cleaning I put the house alarm on, they are senseless terrible crimes. Have fun at both DGS's game and the meet and greet.

Kellie, hope you've landed and are taking in the sights.

Dr. Sue, resting I hope.

Nicky, I hope that you are feeling the after the wedding glo, and you are safely on your way home.

Team, it's Luke, the last two times he was cruel he did Not do it in front of Luke, thankfully. When he has in the past, Luke clearly showed signs of fear and sadness. Yes, it's so sad that my son will not control himself, especially in front of Luke. Luke needs to be in a safe environment, agreed.

Last night went well with the kids, tomorrow I go to the Rheumy. I may go to Carpenteria beach with my BFF. She said she'd pay for a motel room, overnight, we shall see.

~hugs, Lori

Happy sunny Sunday, team! Quite warm and heading to the 90s. Heading out to DGS's game in a little while.
KELLIE should be in London.
NICKY's nuptial adventure will be ending soon.
BERYL is at a winery. (If it's Sunday, it must be winery day lol) Hope you're feeling better.
CORINNE has family and a chili festival.
LORI, hope you are feeling better and the pain has subsided.
A big Hello to DR SUE and KATHIE.
Wishing all a great day!

Hi ladies! I'm getting ready to board the plane and it's a nice quiet night at the philly airport! Got every in to two small bags and got my magazines for the flight - my tradition. Hoping to sleep and we'll fly all night !

A good day - lost 1.5 before vacation and a good lecture and different leader. Love going to weight watchers and seeing everyone in the community. I remember my first meeting in 2004 and got my food (old weights version) scale. I was 226 and and never looked at my weight! I would ask the weigher if I lost! When I was 200 I finally started looking at the card!! Memories

Time to board

Good evening team. Not even going out tonight. Feel like total crap. Planning to take 2 Benadryl and hopefully wake up tomorrow!! Lol
Peg there is nothing better than a clean house except maybe a week with no appointments!! Enjoy
Lori I agree with Peg. This won't end and he'll hold you hostage with Will. Not fair to anyone
Off to shower and hopefully reduce the swelling. If I didn't have that I'd be ok but I look awful and feel worse so off I go
Have a good night ladies

Happy Saturday evening, Team! Another beautiful day! I spent most of it inside cleaning and getting stuff ready for the workshop. One bit of advice...while cleaning the house, do NOT put The Goonies on. Limited my vacuuming to commercial breaks lol Sitting down now with a glass of wine.
BERYL, what's this with trying to sweat it out? Wine, lady, wine does the trick lol Sorry you are not feeling well. Amazing how those massage masters can zero right in.
LORI, I understand that Will needs you in his life. Again, sorry to not just let this go, but Will also needs to see that how his father acts is not appropriate behavior toward anyone, much less you. If it's normal in his world, it will be normal for him when he's an adult. OK, that is the very last thing I will say about that. We will be in the high 80s approaching 90 also. We've had very warm Septembers before, but I don't remember it being this hot. Very dry, too. Glad dinner went well and your cooking was a big success! I hope you feel better and your rheumy can help. Because of the workshop, I will have a week free of appts...no acupuncture, no doctors...looking forward to that.
Tomorrow DGS has a baseball game and I will go to the "meet and greet" dinner at the workshop directly from there. My neighbors will bring Ruby in for me so she doesn't have to hang out in the dark nor will she have to be inside in her crate all day. Kind of enjoying looking at my newly cleaned house. Guess I should do it more often, huh?
Wishing all a good evening.

Peg

Hello Dear Team,

What a terrible welcome home to you, Dr. Sue. Glad Jose did not harm you, except for the gutter rats. Thank you for your advice toward my son. Yes, I've had more abuse in my life and when he treats me like this I always go back there in my mind, but, Luke is not my son and he needs me in his life. If I treat my son, as he treats me and his sisters, Luke will miss out on a whole lot of needed love in his life.
I'm glad that you had a good time with your parents.

Beryl, dinner was awesome, DD1 loved my matzo balls, they all loved the tri-tip, and the Dutch Apple Pie was a gigantic hit. DD2 and her BF did not come, she was sick. I would have had to make more matzo balls and maybe ore tri-tip too. No, DS, was not able to drive up, so I didn't even invite him.

Afterwards I was in a fibromyalgia flare, I hurt beyond medication, I hadn't slept in 2 days, and ended up taking more sleeping medication than normal. Honestly, I needed sleep and relief from my physical pain. I finally found sleep, it was amazing, then I awoke to pain. I'm so sick of this.

Peg, wow your summer/growth garden is doing so well. DH said next week we are back into the 90's, ugh. I think I'm gonna start taking Epsom salt baths again. This pain is literally killing me. I see my Rheumy on Monday, I may have to go back to the pain management doc for some serious injections again.

We have the babies tonight too. Taco Bell, a movie or 2, play in the hot tub, etc. at least I have DH to help me. DD1 and her DH are going to a children's hospital ball, event, tonight.

~hugs, Lori

Good Saturday afternoon team. Feels like summer still. Going to be 90 tomorrow at our wine festival! Going to get there early enough to get a shaded spot, I hope.
Kellie, safe trip! Can't wait to hear!
Nicky, thinking of you all and the brides too! Anxious to hear how DH does with the toast. I have to say my DH absolutely floored me with his for our son. He knocked it out of the park.
Peg, you have such a wonderful harvest. I'm so glad you're back in art classes that you enjoy so much. Prayers and healing thoughts for your friend. She's been through so much.
Corinne, I'm glad they finally figured out what was wrong with DH and hope the surgery helps him get back to a pain free active life.
DrSue, your dad's birthday sounded wonderful. WHen is your 2 weeks vacation? By gutter rats, do you mean that literally??? Yikes!
Lori, how was your dinner??? I can't wait to hear all about it. Did your son come?
I feel llike crap. I have a cold and I'm just miserable. Did go to step class today and tried to sweat it out. Did OK. Can't wait for my nap! I had my monthly massage last night and I was miserable there, because my nose kept dripping when I was on my front. lol. Not a pretty sight! I do swear my masseuse is a witch. No matter what I tell her or don't tell her, she always zeroes in on exactly where I need it. Last night was my calves and shoulders. DD1 and I had done step and tone yesterday and I was sore!
Off to finish my salad and snuggle in bed.
Have a good day ladies

LORI, your garden looks like summer!
DR SUE, glad camp went well. Too bad you had to come home for Jose. We, happily, were spared him. Garden is ok, still more broccoli to cut (they did really well this year), the squash and eggplant are pretty much done. Chard and peppers going full steam. The recent planting of snap peas and beans are up, but I don't know if there's enough time for any veggies to develop. Two weeks at camp! YAY!!!! Let me know if there's a day that you're not busy; I have a new car that loves roadtrips lol

Mentioned that I planted some strawberries as a groundcover. Tonight I noticed one lonely little ripe berry. I picked it and immediately popped it in my mouth. wonderful! Our strawberry season was in June and this sole berry made me think of summer beginning. We are deep into apple season although I've heard that this warmth is causing some problems with ripening and some are falling from the branches. Definitely climate changes be they a "normal" cycle, man made or a combo of both. maybe I should plant a banana tree or some citrus lol
Wishing a good evening to all.

Peg

Hey, team!

Kellie, I'm sorry about the fish. Obviously the herons are not cruel, just predators. I thought from the post that you may have had an injured fish. Penn did not have a good exotics fish medicine department 20!years ago. But UNC did. Basic fish wound management is, fresh water fish soak in seawater, saltwater fish soak in fresh.

Lori, if you want your DS to not be cruel to you, cut him off at the knees, do not apologize! You were the victim of abuse, and it comes in many forms, you have survived many, do not tolerate more! PS, he will need your help and will have to apologize,

Monique, I did momentum, then Points plus was it as inflicted, I still track, but after the snatchy WW people, I track on myfitnesspal. I'm here with my tream, but dislike SP for the tracker.

Peg, glad you are going for new instructor. You have more talent than you give yourself credit for! I know pool is done, how is your garden?

Beryl, is DB's GF the one in the pictures that made DSIL force the divorce? I should have stated with, your holiday menu sounded awesome, as always! Did DS and new bride +\- family come?

Nicky, I hope you have an awesome trip to Co!. I hope the celebration is awesome.

Kellie, have a wonderful trip. Be safe. Unfortunately our world involves terrorism. If we cease to do our thing, they win. In My small town in NY, we have an Islamic community. A certain conservative major network has called them terrorists. The last two years, there have been "significant" threats too these people that have brought, the town, the police and the FBI out to stand with them. We hope that education can dispel ignorance, but well, look at the remains of our White House .

Kathie, I'm so glad you are doing well! Happy belated birthday to Bob and I thought you too!
Your project sounds great! You should check out the Marblehead Arts association, and the Marbkehead Festival of the Arts. Two major things here.

Corrine, I'm glad DD only missed some classes. I hope DH has a quick recovery. Sorry you will miss a trip, but you got Geece!

I was out in NY last weekend, I had two parties for Dad. Brought lobsters for Friday night. I had them out, under the carport in our picnic area. Cocktails Sat on my porch. I was exhausted! The rest of the weekend was 85 degrees and sunny. Warmer than my weekends in July and August. I did have the plumber in an got a new wall heater in. So I will have heat, when needed. I got home and Jose arrived. He was here at the perfect new moon, and the flooding drove all the gutter rats out. I was in a true, amazingly rare FOUL mood. DH did not help, but realized REALLY FAST his miscalculation. Arrived with Take out from a local place, good salad, with turkey tips. It has been raining with 30 MPH winds, gusts to 50 for three days. I am so aware how blessed we are compared to those in the Carribean and In mexico. Prayers for them, and Peg, (I think)!your friend too. Next sat I leave for camp for my October Vacation, two weeks!

Hello Dear Team,

Peg, you are spot on, as Simon would say, Challa is an egg bread, 3 yolks to be exact and two whites. Today is, also, beautiful here. I didn't sleep again but the beautiful day is making it sweet anyways. DD2 just called to say she isn't feeling well and may not come, that would mean 2 people less and all of this food, egads batman.

Corrine, my brother had hip surgery, he did quite well, I'm sure that he recovery is painful but hopefully it will help him not hurt while walking in the long run. No doggies peeing on your new carpet.

Kellie Bon Voyage wishing you a terrific time and travel mercies. I can't wait to hear all about it.

Well Nicky is on her adventure and Beryl is recouping from hers. I'm looking so forward to tonight and hope everyone enjoys the food.

A view from my chair, as I post.

If you look closely you'll see the birds on my bungee cords.

~hugs, Lori

Hi Ladies, Just a short note I will leave tomorrow evening and the trip begins. I dont post on Facebook until I get back.

I had a nice walk last night and saw a cool land frog . Lots of fun little creatures in my neighborhood.

Lori, I am sorry that you are in some pain there. You are a pretty amazing cook!
Peg, tomorrow I leave- have you ever been to London?

Corinne, my dad did wonderfully with a new hip. I will be thinking of him. He can be more active again. I am sorry about the trip. You can plan a longer one when hes better.

Looking forward to getting everything packed and ready! Have a great day teammates.

Good morning, Team! It is beautiful, cooler and breezy. This is perfect! Told DD1 I wanted to live in a place where I could wake up in the morning and say.."Crap! not ANOTHER perfectly beautiful day!" lol
Like the rest of the team, I'm looking forward to pics and stories about the wedding and London. I love living vicariously through my teamies :)
CORINNE, glad they finally determined what was wrong. This is not the first time I've heard of knee/leg problems really being hip problems. (sort of like my shoulder/arm really being cervical spine, I guess) I know a lot of people, who once they had that surgery (and it will be rough, I'm afraid) and PT, do wonderfully! More active, pain free... Will be thinking of him and sending prayers. I think most weather has become schizophrenic...today, a beautiful fall day, by the end of the weekend record high temps and that's not even addressing earthquakes and hurricanes... Enjoy the visit. Hope the carpet comes through unscathed.
BERYL, the fb pics look like dinner went well. YAY!!! Loved your "babies" curled up on the floor lol Enjoy today; you deserve it!
NICKY, I think you are already there. Enjoy and definitely looking forward to your report. Best wishes and blessings to the brides.
LORI, when I could eat bread, I loved challah. (Is that an egg bread or am I thinking of some other bread?) Warm from the oven...mmm, mmm, mmm I had been known to eat flattish bread or cut around "over" or "under done" parts. I used to make a honey whole wheat bread that was wonderful. Sadly, no more.... Hope you feel better.
KELLIE, I'm getting excited (and I'm not even going) When do you leave?
Hi DR SUE and KATHIE and anyone who drops by.

Not going to class today. Too much stuff to do before the workshop next week. Although I'll be home each night, I won't feel like doing anything after such a long day. So, laundry, cleaning, errands (including getting stuff to take for lunches which feels like I'm back in school or work) and I will visit mom. Don't know if I will get out there next week at all.
Just heard that my friend who in May was diagnosed with leukemia and underwent the chemo then had a stroke, but who was able to come home for several weeks, has just gone back in for her second round of chemo. Please keep her in your thoughts and prayers.

Wishing all a great day! Better get going.

Peg

I so admire Beryl and Lori for their entertaining/cooking abilities. Every time I'm faced with that situation I get anxiety. I have fun once it's here but still stress-inducing. I can't imagine entertaining 30 or even 9. Happy New Year to both of you!

Nicky, enjoy the wedding! You're smart to bring layers. One thing Colorado is known for is our schizophrenic weather. Hate to disagree with the bride but it's never "always" anything in any month. Your instincts are good. Can't wait to hear all the details.

Peg, I'm so sorry your shoulder isn't any better! How frustrating for you. Is it limiting what you're able to do physically? Thank goodness you have a lawn mowing service at least.

Kellie, can't wait to see pics and hear details about your trip! London is a fabulous city to visit. I was lucky enough to spend 8 days there two years ago with DD. So much fun exploring.

DH has had leg issues for about a year. Thought it was his knee then his quad. Finally did an MRI of his hip and it turns out that's the problem. He's going to have a hip replacement Oct. 17. We're lucky they can get him in so quickly. He was barely able to walk around Taos and it's fairly flat. We will cancel our trip to San Francisco next month because he won't be ready for travel 8 days after surgery. I'm just glad they finally found an answer after so long. He's anxious to get it over with.

Brother-in-law, GF and puppy are arriving this evening. That dog better not pee on my new carpet! Don't care how cute she is! This weekend may be the cure for my puppy fever. Lol.

Hope everyone has a good weekend!

Corinne

Hello Dear Team,

Nicky it's so close and exciting. Are you flying? Would it have been to long a drive to go with your son? Layers are my friend, tho I wear less and add on if needed. I, too, can't wait to hear all about the wedding.

Beryl, 30, I'm having 9 and I've worked my hinny off. The soup is execellent, the apple pie crumble looks delicious yet the crust burnt a bit. The Challa deflated again so I have a new loaf rising from n my oven. But I love the deflated one too, who wouldn't love Challa? I'm getting a tri-tip tomorrow because the brisket were way too big, too expensive and too much fat. I'll make matzoh balls tomorrow.

Kellie, soon you'll be off on your wonderful vacation, yay you.

Corinne, have you caught up with everything after your weekend away?

Peg, sharks in a basement pool, why? So crazy. How was it getting your kitty to the Vet? Our carriers have the top openings too.

I'm exhausted and in way too much uncontrollable pain, geesh. But excited for tomorrow.

~hugs, Lori

Ha love this group so very much!

My friends/family will look after the house and fish and my parents a good friend lives two blocks away and they help each other out a lot and they can call my cousin. Im beyond worrying as all the what ifs happened lol. My favorite was dad driving over the fire hydrant and landing in a persons yard. He blamed his shoes lol They were both in the hospital once too!

The pond fish I can get decoys and add plastic snakes around it if I want. I did not have as many plants this go around. I have not had these issues and was thinking I was ok with the net and pond depth live and learn. The fish love it outdoors!
---------------------
Nicky, yes, I hear you! Thats why I have dime store fish! I would love Koi!

Peg, Yes, they are very smart those birds. I cant imagine having the sharks in the basement. I can see why they would need the pool!

Lori, thank you! I am attached to the fish. Glad to only to have lost two!

Beryl, I admire you so much and love how you speak up!! Good job with DB

Corinne, yeah, I cant worry we worry about everything in life I am happy to be with tom and friends. I love the simple things in life. Have a wonderful weekend

KELLIE, I know that feeling all too well of seeing the heron fly off and finding a missing fish!! I'm sorry. I stopped naming our koi.

I read a bit of your posts but really need to catch up. I'm leaving tomorrow morning for Denver, all packed and dog sitter ready.
As mom of one of the brides, I was able to pack for 4 days' worth of activities in a single carry on with a medium size purse. I have NO IDEA how I did it, and I'm sure I won't be able to duplicate it on the way home.

DS is driving to Denver in his new van, and he's taking my yoga mat, as well as a box of little "vases" (balsamic vinegar bottles I've been collecting for years).

BERYL, I take it DB has a girlfriend? I wonder if he had the GF all along? When you first mentioned that he wasn't happy, I suggested that most men don't leave the stability of a marriage/habit UNLESS there's another woman in the wings. I think women may divorce for different reasons. I'm painting with a super broad brush.
I was the second wife, the trophy wife, so to speak, and DH's family treated me terribly. I hope your family gives the GF a chance to prove herself.

CORINNE, I wish I could join you for the chili festival!!!
What's with this CO weather? It's going to be 88 degrees when I arrive tomorrow, and in the 60s on Saturday for the event! I'm so glad I went with my gut and got a sweater dress to wear. It's very light weight, but I have a red shawl, as well. DD told me it is always HOT in September, so I should wear something cool. Glad I didn't listen.

Layers. I have layers to wear during the day I'm in Denver/Littleton.

MONICA, welcome! What our Team has discovered is that there is no one way to lose fat, and there is definitely no one way to keep it off!
I can no longer indulge in carbs, and I don't count calories any more, either. I'm a low-carber, I guess.
Tell us about your experiments and get all the support you need right here.

Good weekend Team.

When you arise in the morning,

give thanks for the morning light, for your life and strength.

Give thanks for your food and the joy of living.

If you see no reason for giving thanks, the fault lies in yourself.

Good evening Team.
KELLIE, those predators are soooo smart. I thought I remembered the netting.
CORINNE, in plain terms, my shoulder sucks. Injection on Oct. 3rd. Time will tell. Enjoy the chili festival and time with family.
LORI, not to harp on this, but maybe you and the DDs can develop an off switch for your hearing. When DS starts in, a pointed "I'm not listening to this" and then turn away, hang up, whatever. Difficult, I know (from experience...no, not the DDs) but an important lesson for HIM to learn. Speaking of a fish tank, there was recently a news story about a house near here that when officers responded to a complaint of illegal wildlife, they found an above ground pool in the basement and there were sharks in it (from 2 to 4 feet long)! Crazy....
Hope everyone is well.
Tomorrow is the gym, acupuncture (probably the last) and DGS's football scrimmage...a busy day.
A good evening to all.

Peg

Oh no Kellie, I'm sorry, is there a better/safer contraption to protect your fish? I'm wondering how the turtles and koi survive at the malls and open water ponds. Have you seen Herons before at your home? My husband has a 29 gallon fish tank, he does great with it, but sometimes, they die. I'm trying not to become attached to them, because their death does make me sad. They may be fish but we do love our pets, no matter how small they are. I'm so,so, sorry.

Welcome Monica, I began WW, momentum, in 2009, I did well on it. Then came points plus and I failed. I went back to momentum and couldn't get my mojo back, sadly. I've changed to counting calories again. Some I do great and sometimes I fail. So, whatever you do we are here for you. We have some links for help with momentum, try those and see if they offer you any help.

Beryl, no I did not know about DB having a GF. Hopefully, they will have a long spread of time prior to moving in together, unless that is where he resides now. I say this because, with every relationship there are flaws, and while the honey may be perfect to him now, in a year she could drive him nuts, without a marriage license to tie him to her. Or, vice versa. So, the first dinner is tonight? Will you go to Shul tomorrow and or Friday? I'm so mixed up. On Friday, I invited both DDs and family, and DD2's Bf. I'm cooking Matzoh ball soup, apple crumble, Challa and DD2 wants to do latkes. I may buy a tri-tip too, because the brisket I found, at the meat market, were huge, expensive and half fat. Enjoy tonight. Shana Tova and much goodness and love this year.

Peg, I, agree, a new instructor may just give you new perspective and that can only be good. As for my son, nope, he will continue his cruel words to myself and his sisters, because he can. He has no off switch when it comes to saying things out loud.

~hugs to my Team, Lori

Kellie, sounds like you'll have to have someone take care of your fish as well as your parents! I too, echo everyone about your trip. You've planned this for a while and bad things can happen anywhere as we've seen. Live your life, enjoy your trip. We'll all be back here sending you good thoughts and prayers.

Beryl, your DB is clueless as you say. Why let a pesky detail like marital status get in the way. I'm surprised/shocked that your DM would give her blessing so quickly after all the years his wife was in the picture. Not to mention she's the mother of her grandson. I admire your restraint in not slapping him. Hard. Enjoy your dinner!

Lori, I also loved the cake and I'll bet DGS did as well. I don't know what you could have possibly done to your son but as we've said before (and often) men are clueless. I hope you can continue to see your grandson.

Peg, it sounds like your creative juices are working overtime. I so admire you talented types. How's your shoulder?

My brother-in-law and his GF are coming to spend the weekend with us. Pueblo is having it's Chili Festival so he's coming for that and to get green chili to take back to Montrose. He's also bringing his puppy who I fell in love with when I met her. It will give me a trial run at seeing if I'm ready. My heart says yes to another dog, my brain says NO. I'll see which one wins the battle.

No dinner tonight to make since DH is going to be getting his dinner at a work event. Yay! Not having to think of something to cook is a gift for today. I made some egg cups yesterday and I'll have those for dinner.

Have a good evening team!

Corinne

Good afternoon team! Gray, windy...think this is all we'll get of Jose. Record high temps coming. Craziness.
KELLIE, oh no..... Didn't you have netting over your pond in the past? Or was the heron wily enough to get to the fish anyway? Sorry to hear about them. You do have a great "parent plan" in place. Enjoy! Enjoy! Enjoy!
BERYL, you showed great restraint in talking to DB. People can be so clueless at times or maybe they just want something so badly, that in their minds that is the way it's going to be. Hope dinner goes smoothly.

Went to drawing class last night and it was good. He teaches at WSA and I may sign up for some classes with him. Although I really like my current instructor, I've been with him for almost 6 years. Think I need some fresh eyes, a different viewpoint and to hear things in a different voice. Need to start gathering my things and organize them for the workshop next week.

Wishing all a good day.

Good Wednesday all. The sky is the most spectacular blue today. Of course it's HOT. I'm ready for fall.
Kellie, your poor fish!! Yikes. I'm so sorry, but hopefully the bird will find dinner elsewhere! You have a great plan in place for when you're away.
Hope my team is doing well. Work is busy and I'll be swamped once I leave here with getting ready. My mother will be up at 4:30 so the house has to be ready by then. It'll be close! lol
Confronted DB about the girlfriend. Mainly the timing. He still thinks everyone is going to be one big happy family. He also thinks they're going to live happily ever after. I told him carrying lots of guilt into a new relationship does not bode well for its' longevity. Said and done.
Have a good day ladies!

Hi Monica, welcome!

Hi Lori, I hear you with being concerned. I think it will be fine. I love the picture of the cake! So cute. I hope you feel better I hear you with the exercise and treadmill. Theres times I push myself as I know I need to keep going to push or lose. I agree live your life!

Hi Peg, I love that youve been with weight watchers since 1979. I have a book from them I found and the recipes have changed so much! Its interesting
Hi Beryl, I am getting excited and happy for a break from work. Sounds like a lot of drama with DB! Gosh, like you say his issue
-----------------------
Hi Ladies, we had a call with our travel mates last night and it went pretty well. Looking forward to it so much. Tom was tired and we ate late for dinner. Tom has a couple colleagues who the one guy is getting a divorce and the other has parent issues. He looked spent last night. The one colleague will tend to dump, feel bad for Tom. Hes a great listener. We had pizza and I did some walking in the rain with the umbrella to make steps its been muggy here and quite warm.

My fish pond
I had come home two knight ago and a heron was standing in my pond. He flew away and I discovered he got one of my fish. I quickly took of the net and got the rest out (14) they were hiding in the tubes I had, in the mud and under the rocks. The biggest one OMG was fine I dont know how. This is the first time this happened with it being full. The fish are in now. I had one that was injured I tried to help, but I am no doctor. It was awful. Its only fish, so I keep it in perspective.

So I am not sure if I will add decoys, get babies next year but my pond fish are now indoor fish !

Was sad about it!

Welcome, MONICA! Glad you're here and hope you'll post. sadly, I know nothing about Momentum. I reached lifetime in 1979 and have been bouncing around between plans and ideas and whatever since most of the weight came back after the birth of my daughters. I'd like to be able to say "I just had a baby", but one DD is almost 35 and the other is 31 lol The wonderful thing about this team is how supportive everyone is no matter which plan is right for someone. We get into other day to day living things, too. Welcome, again.
BERYL, did I miss that DB has a GF? I would have a hard time accepting that relationship because of the timing, I'm afraid. Oh those pesky details like "not yet divorced"... Hope DH did acceptably with dinner and you survived the open house.
LORI, still might be helpful to find out what the thing is you do. Sorry about the thorn wounds, but yay that the bourgainvillea are big enough to braid. Enjoy your cooler temps.

Wishing all a good evening.

Peg

Welcome Monica! So happy you found us.
We're all on different weight loss journeys. Some are on Momentum, some Smart points, some PP, some Spark, some...whatever! We just support each other as we go, help each other when we fall, and put one foot in front of the other to move on. Hopefully someone on Momentum can help.
I found that Momentum allowed me too few points, and gave way too many for me to eat junk. I would endlessly eat the 100 calorie packs of things cause they were so few momentum points, and that wasn't working for me. I know it does work for many folks, so good luck!
Either way, glad you found us.
Peg, hope you get relief, but not thinking you will since you haven't in the past. I hope you get some answers and relief soon.
Lori, will apologizing make him not attack you again? If so, hopefully this helps both of you.
Sitting at Open House waiting to make my getaway!! lol
DB told me he wants to make a life with this woman. Yeah, good luck with that. Says he told my mother about her and she's actually met her since she vacations every year near her at the beach, and she was kind to my mother, so she's on board. Yeah, forget that pesky timing.....like he's still married....and was when they took up. Details, details. lol. I did tell him that was one of my main issues with him. He agrees, but then says how glad he is this is all behind him. Really?? I think not. But that's his issue, not mine.
I'm so hungry I could eat the paint off the walls!! DH is "taking care of dinner".....I don't care at this point! He's also setting the table which I DESPISE. Yay.
Have a good evening ladies, and welcome again Monica.

Hi all! I'm new here. My name is Monica. I used to be a Lifetime member at WW back in 2010 when the plan was Momentum. With that, I lost 70 lbs and was so happy. I kept the weight off until recently when I was in nursing school. Now I've gained 30lbs from my lowest weight after WW. I had tried the Points Plus in December and I hated it. Couldn't stick with it. I've restarted Momrntum and am struggling with finding links to momentum recipes and such. I am using the app iTrackBites so it certainly helps.

I also am sad that fruits and veggies count toward my points. When you only have 21 points for the day, points on fruit and veggies hurt. emoticon Has anyone done momentum successfully and not counted fruits and veggies? I used to eat way more fruits than I am now.

Hello Dear Team,

It is, FINALLY, beautiful and cooler out. Hi 79, currently 72. I was able to braid some of my bougainvillea yesterday, I have the thorn wounds to show for it. I read that if you braid them they will grow as trees. I was able to burn 200+ calories on the Treadmill and bike and the pain wasn't terrible to sleep with or keep me awake again, like our Beryl.

Beryl, thank you for sharing that about a Lady Gaga. I'm sorry for her pain but grateful that her pain may open the eyes of those who don't believe in FM Pain. Where is your pain? I think I'll go to the meat market today a find a good brisket for Yom Tov. I can cook it in my instant pot.

Peg, I'm sorry that you, too, felt no relief from acupuncture. The interesting thing is my Acupuncturist always lectured me about all of my medication preventing acupuncture from working, and you don't take any. I do, however, pray that your injection for your neck/shoulder do help you. I didn't have anything to apologize for, but took the higher road. My son can and has been very cruel and brutal, to me in the past and I would just prefer not to be at the receiving end, ever again.

I hear there is another cat 5 hurricane tearing apart what Irma left on the Eastern Caribbean islands, sadly.

Hello to the rest of my Team, ~hugs, Lori

Good afternoon, Team.
Hope everyone is well. Yoshi is at the vet for dental work. His breath had gotten lethal. Borrowed a larger carrier from my neighbors so I didn't have to do the sausage stuffing thing this morning. Plus, this carrier has a top opening. So much easier. Then had an acupuncture session. Thinking this week is the last as it seems to have no positive effect. Drawing class tonight.
LORI, love the pic of Will and his cake. Glad things are smoothed out with you and DS. Maybe you can find out what the "this" is that you "always do". Have to say I'm a little conflicted about your apology...apologize for what? Not my place, though, and I certainly don't know the back story. Best for you to not be the mediator anymore. I left the "go between" position between the DDs and Wuzband a few years ago. Told them if there were any issues, they needed to talk to each other.
BERYL, sounds like a long busy day. I so want to be at your house for meals! :-) Last night in my dream I was hanging out with the Foo Fighters and Jeffrey Dean Morgan...gave JDM my number, telling him that "I only live across the river. So, if you have any questions or need help, just call." wth!! It was good while it lasted lol
KELLIE, you'll have a wonderful time! Can't wait to hear about it and see pics. As BERYL said what will happen will happen and anything can happen anywhere. Live your life! Enjoy! "They" win when they stop us from doing things we want to do and enjoy.
DR SUE, how was the weekend and your dad's birthday?
NICKY, two days and then you leave, right? on the 21st? You, also, enjoy and I look forward to pics.
KATHIE, glad all is well.

Wishing my team a good day.

I figured for sure I'd come here and find a whole bunch of posts I had not been notified about! Hope everyone is OK
Busy day. Kids are nuts. Allergies are terrible. I cannot control either.
Long day. Open house tonight. After the gym, of course.
Didn't sleep again last night due to pain. Finally took something this morning and feel so much better. Hmmm.....
Sort of gray again and so humid. UGH. I want full fall now.
Hope my team is doing well.

Good evening team. Long day but I'm done. Roasting more green beans and carrots because I'm not sure there's enough, and finishing my chicken soup.
Lori, Will is so stinking cute!! And as far as Lady Gaga, she announced she has it and has cancelled part of her tour so I think folks will understand that she has intense pain. For her to have had to cancel must have taken a lot for her to do.
Kellie, I hope you're getting excited! Yes it's scary out there, but it's scary anywhere, and as I thought when my eldest DD went to Israel during the fighting, whatever happens, happens, but it's where she wants to be.Helped me be OK with it.
Have a good night ladies!

Hello Dear Team,

Beryl, I want to be you and cook so many yummy things for Yom Tov, but I am not you and I suc$ at cooking for our holidays. You are incredible and my Jewish Mom guru. I can make a killer matzo ball soup and something or other apple dish, I think. Yes, I sent my son a text, when I was in my happy place (garden). I apologized for frustrating him. He thanked me for my apology. My brother spoke to him and told him he was out of line, but my son said that I always do this, whatever "this" is. But he would have contacted me a few days ago, because he needed something from me. I think I'm done being a referee between him and my DDS. I did tell him so.

Kelly, it seems as uv there are too many terrorist attacks on London. I am a bit concerned for you and Tom. That's the Mom in me. Yet I do want you two to have a wonderful time. My Livvy and Henry are getting used to my robot vacuum, for this I am glad because I run it every day and it grosses me out how much fur and dust it picks up.

Corrine, I'm so glad that you and your DH had a wonderful weekend. Thank you for your kind words, some times being a good person makes it easier for others to walk all over.

Peg, I love hearing of your art. I, doubt, that I will ever attend one of Will's games, they are at 8:00am on Saturdays. I can't do early morning due to my insomnia and pain, just trying to get to a place where I'm in low pain and asleep is difficult. Though he did great at the real game and won.

Yesterday I walked my treadmill, first time in real tennis shoes and it was somewhat painful, but I did it. Then later I rode my bike, both activities burning 200 calories each. That could be why I had so much pain while trying to sleep. But I need to do this to get rid of the weight I gained while recuperating from my toe surgery.

Lady Gaga announced that she was diagnosed with fibromyalgia. She is or has done a documentary on it. This could be a double edged sword for us with FM. People see her on stage performing and then say why can't my (wife, mother, sister, friend, etc.) do that. Why does she not go out and work or clean the house or complain of pain? That's the problem with our disease, people cannot see it so they do not believe it, sadly.

~hugs, Lori

Good morning team. Gray and humid here. Dark in the mornings now when I get up. But the trees are starting to look spectacular!
Nothing much going on. Still some stuff to do, but not that much. House is a disaster! Have a staff meeting today after school, then our open house tomorrow night.
Back to work. Supposed to start my hearing and vision screenings on the fall drivers ed kids but he didn't send them down.....
Have a great day ladies

Corinne, thanks so much  yes, I agree about the playing hard. I really did not travel until I turned 40s. We went to DC mostly (trying to save money), but really want to see more of the world. Ha, I have this skinny Christmas tree had it for 14 years! I hear you with traditions. I got it at a craft store, so its handmade. I cant part with it. Glad you found your angel!

Beryl, I will have my inlaws check on them and their friend is down the street too. I will email a couple others. I used to not travel with them, but gave that up all emergencies happened! I stopped freaking out haha!

Hi ladies, I cleaned my rugs yesterday. I love the home depot rent that carpet machine for 21 bucks make my house look like new. Of course, Belle was unphased by the noise and seemed to enjoy the standoff with the loud machine. Life is funny like that! Shes a tough kitty!

Good Morning Team!

We had a wonderful weekend. Perfect weather, great food and colors changing. Lots of rest and relaxation. I was on a mission to find a tree topper for Christmas. The angel I had for at least 30 years finally bit the dust last Christmas and crumbled into many pieces. I found a silver angel in a small shop so she won't break. Kids will be very happy; especially DS.

Beryl, I'm tired just thinking of all that cooking! You are making a feast and anyone lucky enough to get an invite to your table is in for a wonderful time. Are you finished or do you have more to make?

Lori, DD is at Emory University in Atlanta.

Has your DS put his immature feelings aside? Can you see your DGS now? You're such a loving, giving person. Can't imagine how anyone can treat you badly.

Peg, sounds like you're busy with your artwork. Can't wait to see your pictures of new pieces.

Kellie, your trip is coming up quickly! I agree with Beryl; stay away and just get your mind set on vacation mode. You and Tom deserve this trip. You work hard and it's time now to play hard.

Hello to the rest of our team. Hope everyone is doing well.

Corinne

Good Sunday all. Busy day.
Kellie, STAY AWAY!! So excited that your trip is almost here, and better yet, the folks are doing well so you can go with a light heart. Do they have folks who will check on them when you're gone?
Peg, that cheese sounds heavenly!! I'd be all over that! I"m going to sit and have a glass of wine and some very shortly.
Briskets in, 2 kinds of chicken done, meatballs done, 3 soups done, cous cous and vegetables done, potato kugel done, barley and vegetables done, brocolli and cherry tomatoes done....I think I'm missing something but can't remember.
Dinner until Wednesday is NOT done.....there will be take out or leftovers!
Emmys on tonight. YAY. Love watching folks I have no clue about!
Have a good evening ladies

Hi ladies - happy to report that I got a new phone yesterday! I have just installed spark here! I had 8g on the last phone so all was bookmarked !! Should make it easier to post! Good morning Team!
Another humid, heavy aired day. You can almost see the moisture in the air.
BERYL, all the food sounds delicious! I also like dill. Bought some delicious garlic-dill cheese at the wine and food fest. Haven't watched AHS yet. Looks like a crappy day out so maybe I'll catch up today. Figured WD was coming back soon because of the marathon showings on AMC. Looking forward to it, although I can't really remember how last season ended.

Hoping all my teamies have a great day!

Hi team. The a/c feels good. It feels like a million bugs are swarming all over me when I'm outside cause it's sticky and humid. And you all KNOW how much I love that. lol
Peg, that's so cool you can see something else in something you do. That artistic eye is amazing to me.
Lori, glad you enjoyed the time. Wow, Will is 7?! Wasn't he just a baby??? Will your DS be at the party? Have you spoken to him or have the girls?
Did more shopping tonight. Chicken soup boiling. The house smells so good. Like dill. I love dill. Making a chicken each night, along with meatballs one night and brisket the next. Chicken soup, and then kale/tomato/chickpea one night, and corn the next. Both vegan. Lots and lots of sides--marinated vegetables, kugels, salads....I like having a lot of them so I wind up eating them all week. Israeli salad, barley and vegetables, some kind of green beans and tahini, garlic carrots....it's an ambitious menu. We'll see. No desserts though. I don't do desserts.
Fun zumba tonight. Will do step tomorrow. Probably kill myself or someone else since I haven't been in like 2 weeks. Won't be pretty.
Peg, are you watching AHS? WD comes on in 2 weeks!!!
Have a good evening team!

Good evening, Team!
Very warm and humid. Had to turn my fan on last night and I think I will tonight, too. Went to class, result was meh so I started to wipe it off. I noticed a wave design in my wiping so I started playing and turned into a sort of seascape. Needs more work because it was too wet to get paint to stick. I'll see how it turns out. Can always paint over it.
BERYL, how was class? What are you cooking? You always have a wonderful menu.
LORI, did you enjoy watching the practice? I went to another of DGS's scrimmages last night. It's not as much fun as a real game. Looking forward to them. Good luck at the doc.
CORINNE, enjoy your weekend away.
Hope the rest of my teamies are well.

Hello Dear Team,

Cool and crisp this morning. The whole house fan cooled our home to 63'. I had to put our heavy quilt back over us. Now that's my kind of weather. Yesterday I spent much of my day with DD1 and we, DH and I went to Will's soccer practice. He turns 7 tomorrow. He's such a goof ball and cute. DD1 gave me some goodie bag stuff to do. Piston cups with skittles and air heads, wrapped in cellophane. Cross your fingers that they turn out well.

Corrine I forgot where DD goes to school. It's quite far away. I'm so glad that she was safe.

Beryl, what are you cooking for Yom Tov? My Torahmate baked apple kugle. But I know you cook a whole lot of good and yummy food. I may try a brisket in my instant pot.

I'm going to the doctor, shortly, my right Breast has been very sore, like when I had my female innerds and was ovulating, but more intense like muscle pain.

~hugs, Lori

Good Morning Team!

Kathy, I agree with Lori; so wonderful to hear how well things are going for you and Bob. Hope he had a nice birthday. How could he not with such a wonderful partner! Sounds like the quilt show is quite an endeavor. Hope you enjoy. Thanks for the info re: washers. We have to get a top loader because our washer and dryer are in a closet so we're limited with room. We can go high but not wide or the door won't close. Still on the search.

Beryl, have fun cooking this weekend. Hope you get better temps for it. Do you freeze everything until you need it? Does DH help? I think Peg has it right. Deep down your mother has to have even a slight inkling that she's unfair. I also agree it will do little good to hash it out. I deal with this with my DM too. She gets defensive and hurt. How dare I not think I had a perfect childhood?

Lori, so nice you're back home with cooler temps. It sounds like you had a lovely getaway. Atlanta had a tropical storm because of Irma but nothing as bad as Florida. Lots of rain, wind and toppled trees. DD is back to her regular routine.

DS had a wonderful first experience with therapy with his first client. Yes, Beryl, so wonderful to see/hear my kids happy with their choices.

We'll be leaving for Taos after I work the WW meeting. It's about a 3 hour drive from here. Hope to see some color changes in the mountains. Looking forward to the rest, relaxation and excellent food. Back to using Apple Cider Vinegar. Stomach issues coming back again. Nothing different, no new foods. Just came back.

Have a wonderful weekend.

Corinne

TGIF team. Way darker in the mornings now, and no sun glare when I drive in. Days are definitely getting shorter. BUT--the trees are also turning colors and I do love that.
Lori, glad you're home safe and sound and had a lovely time away!
Looking to do lots of cooking this weekend. Bought a new food chopper and immersion blender from Amazon. I did their free 30 day Prime membership and have to say, it's a problem! I may go for the year....we'll see.
Work, nails, market, and zumba before going home tonight. Will make it all work. Not much this weekend but cooking and the gym, plus the farmers market tomorrow, so that's good too.
Have a great day ladies

Hello Dear Team,

We are home, after our lovely vacation in Pismo Beach. The last evening and morning we saw whales and dolphins, amazing. Our temps, at home were in the 90's, today it is 77, high 83. Yay for this blessing.

Happy Birthday to Bob.

Peg, I'm sorry that you pay for something that is not being done. That is frustrating. I often feel the same way about insurance, Doctors, etc. if I don't stay up on it, I could be paying twice, and they don't seem like they'd be in a hurry to refund, either. I hope you enjoy your DGS's scrimmage.

Kathie, wow, 9 pieces to sell and giving a presentation, too. It's so wonderful to hear about your life. I'm sorry that Annie kept you up. When we were in Pismo, my DD1 told me about a terrible thunderstorm we were having at home. I was instantly worried about Henry and Livvy. They are so happy to have us home.

Corrine, I didn't know that your DD was affected by Irma, I'm glad that she is safe. Enjoy your busy weekends, but try to get rest too.

Beryl, I must have been away during this credit scam. I've checked and everything looks fine. I'm sorry about your Mom and her unfairness between you and your siblings.

Nicky, did you get the thunderstorm too? I'm glad your DD is happy now. Every bride experiences some aggravation prior to the weddings.

Kellie, great job on all that you do.

Dr. Sue, I'm glad that soon you'll be up at camp and relax. Also, noted, busy helping parents out too, but in a peaceful setting.

~hugs, to my Team, Lori

Good afternoon, Team. Humid, stuffy, gray and sprinkles here. I miss the low humidity "clear" air. Went to acupuncture this morning and off to watch DGS's football scrimmage this afternoon. Just got his fall baseball schedule, so my calendar is now all marked up.
BERYL, I agree. Why go over it again. Maybe she asked because in some tiny kernel of her being, she knows it's not right. Odd to think of only 2 students. I'd love that in an art course! Did you say this is a hybrid course so some of it will be done online?
KATHIE, how exciting about the show and the gallery. There is a local guild which (thankfully) took a lot of the fabric mom had collected. Happy Birthday to Bob!

Hoping the rest of my teamies are well.

Peg

Good Thursday morning team. a/c back on. Very humid and stuffy again. ALWAYS around the high holidays! Could have been snowing the week before--it's always hot for them.
Kathie, that's so exciting about the shows and the items for sale! Enjoy. And HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU AND BOB!! emoticon
Corinne, I love hearing how much your kids love what they do! That's so soul satisfying, isn't it?
Peg, I put freezes on 2 of my credit reports, the one charges and I won't pay. THEY should pay!! Checked my credit too and it's OK. I use my Discover to check. So much aggravation.
DrSue, safe trip up today. Any special celebrations planned for the birthday?
Hi Kellie, Lori, and Nicky! Anything new on the wedding plans?
Spoke to my mother last night who asked if anything was wrong. Either my voice wasn't it's usual enthusiastic self or my brother said something, which I doubt. I said everything was fine. No point going into something she'll deny and negate. Just perpetuates things, and then she'd play victim. Not worth it.
Teach today. Hope it'll be short. With 2 students.....the group work gets nixed. Really hard to plan for 2.
Have a great day ladies

OK, I will try to catch up. First commenting on all of you who are taking care and/or dealing with elderly parents. That would be Peg, Kellie, Beryl, DrSue, Nicky ... am I missing anyone? It sounds like a daunting task. I didn't have the opportunity/burden of aging parents but so many of my friends have and I understand how exhausting it is to deal with the multitude of issues. Kellie. your parents are not much older that we are. I'm 69 and Bob turns 70 tomorrow But we both go to the gym 5 days a week, eat well and are engaged in meaningful pursuits. Still I know that not everyone my age has been blessed with good health and taken care of themselves physically and financially. You all have my admiration.

Corrine, I have had front loading washing machines for years They are low water, energy efficient but the cycles take a long time. Since there is no agitator the clothes don't get as beat-up as in my old top loading model. And they get very clean.

All is well here. Busy getting ready for the quilt show. I've not been involved with a large quilt guild before. This show is huge with big prize money and lasts 3 days. I usually don't enter these shows because my work is so non traditional But this time I'm entering since I'm on the show committee. There is also a gallery for sales only. I have 9 pieces for the gallery and then small things for the gift shop. I'm giving a presentation one day. Just 30 minutes. I'm cutting down a longer presentation I've given before. Just a lot of "stuff" that all needs to be done. But its all so good.

We actually got a bit of Irma. More wind than anything. I was up all night with a very agitated Annie. Still recovering from sleep deprivation.

Good afternoon, Team. Back from mom's doctor appt. Went better than I had feared, but still took about 3 hours with waiting for the transportation. All's fine and now they have plenty of time to get the remote monitoring set up.
Beautiful today.
BERYL, I don't think we're getting rain until Friday or so. Yay for DH and his reaction. "nearly comatose" lol It is totally crazy and totally out of our control except for how we react to it. As for $, when going through mom's paperwork, I found indication of several loans to DB and no indication they were paid back. Mom was very particular about record keeping so I can only surmise that they were not paid back. I found that interesting as DB complains frequently about how terribly mom treated him after dad died. And yet I also found letters from DB to mom when he was in college and he was quite the sob in them. I don't pretend to know what was going on as I was teaching in FL at the time, but I found it interesting. As I said...families...sigh
DR SUE, maybe that's what I do? shut down my metabolism waiting for the next big kill? lol safe trip to camp. Hope Q is still doing well.
CORINNE, glad your children are happy in their career choices. It's so nice when it all comes together. Enjoy your weekend trip and then the chili festival.
KELLIE, you do a wonderful job of keeping it all together.

Went on the site and yes, my info was "potentially" compromised. I already have free credit/ID monitoring from some breach a while back. Target? Bank of America? I don't remember. I'm always checking my accounts, but will run the free credit report to make sure there's nothing new on there. My FICO is good and hasn't changed so I'm not really worried.
Hi to my teamies!
Wishing all a great day!

Peg

Kellie and Peg, I sure admire the way you take care of your family. My DM could drive me to drink! I'm just happy she's as independent and self-sufficient as she is at 83. My sister lives here so we would share the care but I'm hoping that day won't come for a long time. At least we don't have to worry about her finances. My dad was a good planner and my mom has a good retirement from the state.

Lori, I worry about being a burden for my children as well. DH and I are both self-employed so we will rely heavily on SS if it still exists. We do IRA's every year but that won't go far. Especially if medicare ceases to exist and we have to get our own health insurance. I pay over $900 monthly to just cover DS and myself.

Beryl, I admire that you even invite your mother for holidays after the way she treats you and your family. You ladies are a good lesson in patience for me. Something I dearly need to continue working on.

Nicky, glad the dress situation worked out for DD and hopefully she can now enjoy the wedding. I also commend you for being so patient with SM and NM. Thanks for the feedback on the washers. We will have to wait for a couple of weeks. This weekend is our trip to Taos and then next weekend my brother-in-law and his GF will be coming for the Chili Festival and stay with us for the weekend. Busy month!

Dr. Sue, I hope you enjoy your time away. You're another one of the special ladies on this team that takes such good care of your parents!

Beryl, I'm sorry your credit was breached! I looked at my credit report to see if any new accounts were opened. I also have Discover sending me alerts since it's the only credit card I use.

DD gets to teach today so she's very happy. Rain stopped and none in the forecast for today. She's getting cabin fever after being cooped up for so long but I'm just happy she was safe.

DS is getting a client to start therapy with today so he's very excited! It's what he's been working for so he can't wait. So gratifying as a mom to hear the excitement in my kids when their dreams are coming true for them. Just love it!

I'm going to have a very busy day meeting clients. Have two weeks worth to get through.
Going to be 93 degrees today. Ugh! So over summer temps.

Have a good Wednesday.

Corinne

Hi team - feel blessed to have your support. Love you all

My folks had some setbacks early in life.... Depression, apprehension (result) and could not bounce back from... but helping others we love is a good thing just so we can take care of us I guess - they are great people, so it's something I take pride in doing...

Beryl, I'm in the process of putting freezes on my credit - I have an article I'll share

Dr. sue, enjoy the vacation -we would not be a happy family if we lived together

Nicky, I hear you with mom - it's when mine is being irrational that gets me ... Love you take care of the other ladies too

Lori, you are loved! You are kind and responsible to all - you will be fine. You have a good support group it seems and family. My folks had some crazy habits leading them here ....

My circus and my monkeys are the same - lol

Hello to all who stop by!!

Good morning team. Rain on and off the next few days, but luckily nothing like what others have experienced.
DrSue, excited for you to get away!
Peg, I always say "Your lack of planning doesn't constitute my emergency"! That and "not my circus, not my monkeys" is appropriate for most discussions. lol. So frustrating when folks who are paid to do something do not. You have to do your job PLUS theirs. Not fair.
My mother found someone to drive her. Yippee. Told DH last night. He's the most easygoing person you'll ever meet (some might say bordering on comatose, lol). He blew up. He's furious that she's so dismissive of us, despite DB making excuses for her. I also believe she's giving DB money now. How can he support 2 households, and still spend as he is and as he's planning to? No clue. Except one. Not my business, but just an interesting development.
PSA for my team. Please check and see if your credit has been breached. Mine was one of the ones that was hacked. Please be safe and protect your good credit!

Hi team. I'm still standing. One more wake up and I'm off for a few days!

Lori, your pictures are lovely, I missed where you are. Enjoy.

Beryl, I would be (and have been PO'd) being the less favored child. I can't see how she ignores her GK's let alone her GGK's! Although it was a worse situation with my Mother's mother. DB and I redeveloped our own friendship when we were in College.

Kellie I too admire your patience with your parents. I spend the one weekend a month out with Mom and Dad. Thank heavens I have my own house, or we probably wouldn't be on speaking terms! They are at least much more financially stable than we are.

Corrine, I'm glad your daughter only had to miss some school. I was shocked to see Charleston SC!. We returned into the 80's here.

Peg, the problem with cats is that they can kind of can shut off their metabolism. They sleep 3/4 of the time anyway. It comes from big cats needing to go long periods between kills. Our hospital cat, Earl Grey has been fat his whole life, despite IBD, measured food, restriction from Zelda's food etc.

Nicky, I'm glad DD's dress worked out well. When do you leave? Enjoy the mani pedi party. It would be nice to do that for myself soon. Won't happen this week. I'm scheduled to the minute I think til I leave. I didn't look at today's schedule fully, but it is a WTF Wednesday so I'm not optimistic.

I wanted to check in with you all, finally! I need to go do the puzzle before work. Enjoy the day!

NICKY, "what's the cat's excuse?" is the big question. I have no idea. He gets fed only what I give him which is the same amount (I have a 1/4 cup scoop in the bag) he got when he lost the weight. He can't get into the garbage. He can't get to Melinda's or Ruby's food, so I am at a loss. Maybe age and his metabolism? I can't figure it out and neither can the vet. I laughed at the visual of thumping Gunther's stomach like a watermelon! Actually the pool was 64 degrees, but I won't go in until it's at least 80. Not an issue anymore. My father had a customer (he was a salesman for a plumbing, heating and electrical supply house) who was Scandinavian. At times when my father would arrive at his house, the man would be running in the snow (naked) after sitting in his sauna! I'm sure that was a sight...Glad the dress has worked out. I totally understand about the strangling fantasy.
LORI, I'm glad you're enjoying your time away.
BERYL, massages apparently don't help my neck. Have to get that inflammation down so the pressure on the nerve root subsides. I'm hoping the shot will work. Will know in about 3 weeks. At least I can drive myself to and from. I was concerned that I would need a driver as they tried to make have one for the lumbar injections.

Have to take mom to the appt. tomorrow. If only people would follow through on what they say they will do. Then, the monitor at the facility would be in place. But, noooooo, it sat under a desk for two weeks and then they were unable to talk with the cardiologist. And, they were annoyed that they didn't get an immediate callback. Really? After you let it sit there for two weeks? Reminds me of a saying one of the law clerks used to say when attorneys wanted a "rush" on a decision...."poor planning on your part does not make an emergency make on my part". Unfortunately, I'm in the middle of this "poor planning" and "no emergency", so, I'll be spending hours so mom's pacemaker can be checked. oh well......

A good night to all.

Peg

KELLIE, at the risk of being presumptive, I think I know EXACTLY how you feel in dealing with parents. I, too, am an only child. I'm the only living relative of SM's, and I'm guilty for wanting to strangle her at times; I have visions of doing same. emoticon
My savior is intense exercise and the 10-minute meditations on the Meditation Made Simple App. Why did I resist just doing it for so long?

BERYL, family dynamic can so easily diminish the meaningful holidays. I'm sorry you often get caught in the middle. I hope you can ignore your mom and let her do her thing.

PEG, it's apparently not just humans who regain the weight! Gunther (actually, all my dogs) is crazy for the persimmons. The squirrels drop them, and Gunther finds them in the bushes. He, like all my other dogs, is in the middle of Persimmon Gorging Season, and his belly thumps like a watermelon.
What is your cat's excuse?

46 degrees? My DS would love that; he's into "cold therapy." He's been a disciple of Wim Hof. At the end of the training, the students sat in ice cube water. Wim Hof is known as the "Ice Man," I think. He ran a marathon in the Arctic, or something, in bare feet. He teaches breathing techniques.
If the pool is under 85, I don't go in.

CORINNE, my washing machine works on centrifugal force. The tub has tiny holes, and the water is forced through the clothes, supposedly washing out the dirt. Well, my very expensive LG top loader doesn't use enough water to sometimes even wet the clothes. It's a farce. My washer has a feature where you can override the setting and add more water and use a second rinse, as well.
NM had to replace her agitator Maytag, and, at 98, she bought a very inexpensive Sears. You cannot adjust the water level, but you can do a second rinse. It doesn't get her clothes clean at all.
Without an agitator, oily stains don't get rubbed, so one has to pre-treat stains.
I checked out the Sears website for reviews before I decided to get the LG.

My freezer is 36" and is built in. The whole thing is getting rebuilt, condenser, evaporator, the whole ball of wax.

DD's dress disaster turned out great. She loves it now. DS will end up driving to Denver in his new van, so I will send my yoga mat and 30 little vases (balsamic vinegar bottles I've been collecting for years for centerpieces) to add to her collection. We'll do the vases on Friday after the mani/pedis.

When you arise in the morning,

give thanks for the morning light, for your life and strength.

Give thanks for your food and the joy of living.

If you see no reason for giving thanks, the fault lies in yourself.
