Sarlia, you just answered the question I was about to ask you! Ha! I never have a menu, because I never seem to have on hand the ingredients for each of the different recipes, but if I planned ahead better, like you are doing, and bought everything I needed for the week at the market, then that would work. That kind of discipline is hard for me, though, but is a good thing to have.

I know it makes a huge difference for me to have a menu for our evening meals. I'm much more likely to fix a meal when I already know what I'm going to fix than to come home and have to think of something on the spot. Also, with a menu, I pick up all the ingredients I'll need for the upcoming week, so I'm rarely missing something.
Good advice Will. Even though I don't plan all my snacks (when I have them) or even breakfast or lunch anymore, I usually have enough stuff on hand that it's not a problem. Evening seems to be the worst and I'm sure it's because I'm tired at the end of the day.

Great article. This illustrates why it's so important to plan all of our meals, including snacks. So, even when we're hungry and tired, we won't have to try and think. We'll already have things ready so we won't end up having the wrong things. That's what I do. When I have meals while tired, I already have them planned out ahead of time.
