Too often we invest time in everyone around us and not ourselves. Great article, Pat
I believe in myself, I am a strong woman. I will reach my goals, NOTHING & NOBODY will hold me down. I will live my life with integrity and intention. I will set a good example for my daughters and my son. I will be a woman that makes my grand children proud when they look at pictures of me long after I've left this earth.
Great article, Boni! I sure can relate to on again and off again dieting! Her story gives me hope, as well.
I'm tempted to send it to my sister that I visited this weekend. She sorta discouraged me during the visit about my own attempts to lose weight when she said "None of our family has ever been able to consistently keep the weight off--so why not just accept yourself as you are?" She seems to have given up her fight for weight loss (she's tried so many diets and went to extremes to change, but weight loss keeps eluding her). She suggested it's genetic and we need to just accept it.
But I just can't accept being overweight as a "way of life" because of my genes, because it would also mean accepting poor health as a way of life. I don't want to do that.
