Now that I know what "cat herding" is, I realize I've done it myself before! Ha! So cute to hear how your cat makes those noises while you chase it! Kinda like a toddler running around the house laughing while mommy chases it down! Ha!

I would love to still have a cat, but grew to become very alergic to them (first cats...then chocolate! Alergies can be cruel!!!) Keep hoping to get a small dog, but have yet to do so. If I ever do, I'll become a dog herder, I guess! ha!

LOL Terry it IS very similar to that! picture a kitty sunning herself int he yard and it's time to go to work or school and she needs to come in OR running after her to clip nails or comb out fur. Sometimes I wish I had a horse to help! But it's al fun and she makes little trilling noises as I chase her - very cute.

It all sounds good, Evelyn...but what on earth is "cat herding"??? LOL!! I envision cowboys on their horses herding huge fields of cats to the ranch! Hehe! emoticon

Cat herding, dog walking, a glass of wine, watching mindless TV, sitting in the sun - supposed to be 80 here in Jersey today! Gardening, harvesting seeds, talking about silly things with family and friends. I am lucky I have a lot in my life to keep me sane.

Go for it Terry, start a crazy thread. What drives me crazy is that packaging that you need a degree in engineering to get into.

I was going to say, "Nuthin. Because I'm cray-cray!" But, honestly, my dang dogs soothe me and make me laugh after spending TOO much time around the things that make me crazy.

Some people think the “plant-based whole foods diet” is extreme. Half a million a year will have their chests opened up and a vein taken from their leg and sewn onto their coronary artery. Some people would call that extreme.

Having a "Terry Night" of curling up on the sofa with a good movie and some popcorn on a quiet evening at home; being alone now and then--enjoying my own company; having this group to come to and share with; my faith in God (or put more simply: the feeling that I'm never alone--the feeling that there is always Someone with me.)

(It would be interesting to create another topic of "What drives you insane!" Ha! I would have a few things to add to that one, too! Ha!)

Yoga, some time alone, some time with friends, pursuing the things I love ... study, gardening, hiking, reading ...

Come to think of it, I fall asleep a lot when I'm reading. I guess I should add naps to that list!

taking a "jammie day", close the blinds, stay in pj's and watch comedies, read, nap, puzzles, knitting but nothing on the computer.

Every day I am on the verge of making slight changes that would make all the difference in my life.

Good clean food keeps me sane; if I eat poorly I feel bad. And exercise keeps me sane and feeling like my true self. And my dogs, those pure-hearted beings with their unconditional love keep me sane and happy---and of course that man of mine keeps me firmly grounded!

I'm sure you probably already guessed my answer but yoga keeps me sane. Yoga, being active and spending time with people just as insane as I am. LOL

Every now and then, I look at my high school yearbook (I graduated in 1983) and I see a whole lot of people who are no longer alive. They died from various things. Knowing that I’m still here is more than enough to keep me sane. None of the other stuff really matters in the big scheme of things.

James McWilliams on his post today, sounded a bit down. He is a vegan lecturer, writer and activist and you may or may not agree with all that he has to say, be he is certainly interesting.
Today he said he was taking a few days off from all the negative comments he's been getting and asked his blog readers, "What keeps you sane?" One commenter posted: "When you finally figure out that you are never going to figure it all out, you're finally beginning to figure it all out." author unknown.

What keeps me sane? Long walks and good books. What about you?
