Kelly, I'm backing you too!! I've tried to make a few, but can't get them to stay together. If I wanted crumbles, I'd be fine! I also can't take the "easy way out" on flavor by adding chilis (like in the black bean burger recipe), since I can't tolerate that kind of hot spice. (I can handle a little crushed red pepper.) And I don't mean "easy way out" as an insult. I'm always envious of people who like chilis & salsa & other mexican heat & spices because it's a nutritious, easy way to add flavor.
So keep us posted, Kelly, and I'll let you know if I ever find something wonderful too!

Some people think the “plant-based whole foods diet” is extreme. Half a million a year will have their chests opened up and a vein taken from their leg and sewn onto their coronary artery. Some people would call that extreme.

I forgot to add that I used to only know of one kind of burger: the kind that was beef. Now, as a vegan/plant strong guy, I realize the vegan community has created TWO different kinds: the veggie burger that taste like beef and the veggie burger that taste like a "casserole on a bun" (which is great, too). I love both kinds, but since I was such a beef addict at one time, I'm still searching for a veggie burger with the taste and texture "exactly" like a beef burger. Have come close a few times, but still not there.

Yaaaa Kelly!!! I'm backing you 100 percent, cause I'd love for someone in our group to discover the perfect burger recipe (and then share it with ME!!! LOL!!!) emoticon emoticon

Being a guy who used to eat beef burgers several times a week, I still crave a good burger (but want a healthy, vegan one, now, of course). Like I said in another post--being a bachelor I can be lazy about cooking recipes sometimes. I even have a veggie burger cookbook around here somewhere, but I've never made a single recipe from it! Got to do better than that, huh?

Anyway, I wish you luck with it and hope you come up with something out of this world!

Thanks for telling me about Don Lee Farms burger, Carol! I'll check into that!

My goal is to be more like many of the members here are and to make my own veggie burgers, but being a bachelor, I have been known to be lazy when it comes to cooking! So it sometimes helps to have a froze burger or two on hand. But I know now not to live on them (when I first became vegan I sorta did! Ha!)

But I can't believe the other burger can be cooked in a toaster? Wouldn't that mean it's a very "dry" burger? No juices or moisture? Hmmm....I'm not sure about that. Will have to try one someday and see. I don't have a Whole Foods near me, so who knows when that will be!

Well, that just sounds fantastic, especially the one with chiles in it!

Thanks for the heads up, Terry. I will be going to a Whole Foods in Nashville next week and I will look for these. Seems there are 2 kinds of Hilary's Burgers and you can cook them in your toaster.

Will look for the one you mentioned, too, Carol. Thanks!

Hi folks! I just got an email from Whole Foods, and if I understood it correctly, they have a new veggie burger that supposidly is "the best veggie burger". It comes from a lady who had my idea of a "healthy fast food resterant". Folks began to brag about her veggie burger, which apparently is now sold at Whole Foods. Just thought I'd share that with those of you who have a store near you.
