Good tips! I use the smaller dishes trick and find it very helpful for keeping the right portions. But I had never used the "taller glasses" trick till recently. I bought a tall, thin drinking cup that was on sale (one of those insulated drinking cups) and thought for sure it would equal two 8 ounce cups of a drink--but I measured it and it's just one 8 ounce cup! So I use that cup a lot now to make me "feel" like I'm getting a large drink. Comes in handy for higher calorie drinks.

Related and yet unrelated: I'm working on a financial management class right now. I have never thought of net worth continuing to go down if you run a deficit over time, for example 10 years. Poor choices become even greater over time. That's why it is important to get spending and portion control in line as soon as they become an issue.
