LOL!!! emoticon I know what ya mean, Kate! With homemade you have a lot more control over things like the sodium, for sure. But I do really enjoy the taste of the celebration roast.

Hi all! The Glazed Lentil Walnut Loaf and the Holiday Salad with Cranberry Apple Orange Vinaigrette that I took to my sister's for Thanksgiving went over great! They kept asking, "Are you sure this is Vegan?". Maybe I'll get requests for recipes emoticon from them. I would love to see my family eating more healthy and "kinder". Maybe now they won't scoff at my "TryVeg.com" auto decal anymore. emoticon

Thanks! I've printed the recipe. It looks great. So glad it was successful for you and your family.

Some people think the “plant-based whole foods diet” is extreme. Half a million a year will have their chests opened up and a vein taken from their leg and sewn onto their coronary artery. Some people would call that extreme.

I made butternut squash with pumpkin seed pesto and it was a hit! My sister and I had it for our main course and my family had it as a side, and everyone loved it! It's very light and healthy, but also warm and hearty, so you don't feel like you're missing out on anything.

Thanks, Boni! After having the celebration roast yesterday, I'm determined to make something better for myself for Christmas. I mean, it was tasty, but I think my innards may be permanently brined after ingesting those massive amounts of sodium. These recipes look more like it!

The lentil walnut "holiday loaf" came out tasting great! (Although next time I might omit the red pepper flakes--I'm not a huge fan of hot spices.) Loved the glaze! Got compliments on it, too! I'm sure I'll be making this again!

Someone had mentioned having "Thanksgiving Pizza" after the holidays, which I wasn't sure if there really was such a thing---so I did a web search and sure enough, there is! It sounds good!! I have never made one before or even heard of it, but now I think I'm gonna have to try it!

Here's one recipe that's pretty simple to make, but it's "not" vegan. It calls for bisquit dough, which probably is not vegan, but you could use your own recipe for pizza dough. You would need "veganize" other ingredients as well, such as using veggie turkey "meat" and veggie cheese.

Thanks Boni. I'll be making the Glazed Lentil Walnut Loaf and the Holiday Salad with Cranberry Apple Orange Vinaigrette. They can both be transported easily. My sister and daughter are going to be surprised at how yummy vegan can be! emoticon

Oh my. They look so good too. I love the stuffed portobello recipe. I guess that's why people always want to know what we vegans are eating. Our food looks so much more interesting.
Thanks for that post.
