I forgot to mention that I had also stopped the weight training (and pretty much any exercise!) and had gone back to my old bad habits of overeating--which is why I gained the weight back over the winter.
Yes, try adding some mild (not very heavy) weight lifting twice a week, Boni, and see what happens. I used to do it only twice a week and did aerobic exercise (mostly walking) the other days (but took sundays off) and I was becoming amazed with the results I was getting. Sometimes I shudder to think how I would most likely have been to my goal weight now had I not stopped exercising when winter came.
But the good news is I did my first workout today in months! Started off easy with walking. I don't know why, but I just woke up today and knew it was time to start back to working out! My goal is to keep it up all year this time!

But for what it's worth, Boni, I've always admired your determination to get out there and walk and do marathons and stay active! You are light years ahead of me!!!! I feel confident you can do anything you set your mind to!
