Great! I started walking, not running, at the age of 55 eight years ago. The first walk was 2k. I thought I was going to die. I didn't realize what bad shape I was in. But, like you, I hung in there. It was such a rush to cross the finish line of my first 5k race. I went on to do several 10k's and then half marathons. I am just starting to train for my sixth half which is in May. I lost all the weight that I needed to over the course of the first three years, and then you get addicted to exercise. But the key is to hang in there. Listen to your body - if you are having a bad day and the legs (knees in your case) don't want to move, go home and start out the next day. emoticon

Thanks for the link! I'd love to get into this. I'm worried that I'm just simply too out of shape, too big, and too injured (had knee surgery a few years ago and never really recovered) to ever get there but I'm going to give it a try!

Congratulations to those of you still hanging in there. It has been a challenge for me because stormy weather has cut down on the number of days I can walk the roads. This week's forecast is looking much better.
This week's workout: Day 1, 2 and 3 all the same workout - Brisk five minute warm-up walk. Then jog for 28 minutes (2.75 miles)
