I drink dandelion root tea for detoxing my liver, but I can only get fresh dandelion leaves in the summer and I generally use them intermittently. I find them really bitter.

Interesting. Thank you for the information.

I made my first green smoothie in probably about six months because I had burned myself out on the spinanch one I mentioned. Yesterday, I got an e-mail from Veg News that had a smoothie recipe for one with kale, grapes, an orange, a pear, a banana and 1 cup of (non dairy) milk. And ice cubes. I made that this morning. It was good. I miss drinking my greens in the morning.

I did buy dandelion greens when I bought the produce for the above smoothie, but I gave them to my rabbit. (She loves them.) I might have to try some in my smoothie tomorrow.

That is one of the main consequences. Also if you do too many Kale green smoothies it can build up toxins in your system. Numbness, etc. Kale is wonderful and filled to the brim with nutrients. Too much is too much. Victoria Boutenko's family suffered dearly. LOL Then she realized to ROTATE her food-especially greens.

I choose 2 different varieties with 2 adjunct choices that I can use in salads. I rotate those weekly. Yesterday I had dandelion greens, baby spinach, baby bok choy. today I'll use my red chard with dandelion greens. tomorrow I'll use baby spinach, bok choy and kale. I normally use kale 3 times a week. Same with spinach.

With my other food I also rotate. I open my frige and follow my instincts/heart. Today I steared away from flax seed and did 2 dates in my fruit/protein smoothie with 1 Tbl of hemp oil and 1Tbl of flax oil. It was exactly what my body needed. It cleared my head instantly and raised my mood. I woke up a little yucky. Feel great now.

Don't limit your healthy options. Be creative. Live with your instincts and your heart. You will always be led to the right choices.

What are the consequences of eating (drinking) the same green for days on end, other than burnout. (I burned myself out on a spinach/banana smoothie this summer.) I'm just curious.

Mike, if you mean you are using dandelion greens in your green smoothies, which is wonderful, I use 5 strands of dandelion greens per 32 ozs of green smoothie mixture. Also, please be sure and rotate the greens you are using. A couple of days in a row of the same greens is fine, but switch it up or pay the consequences. She goes into this in her latest DVD's on 12 steps to raw. Especially with Kale and Spinach.

I don't know, either. Maybe the exact amount isn't critical and you could just use a small handful and see how you like it. Is it for a smoothie?

they are a very nutritious plant as well as having medicinal properties one I believe is as a blood purifier

Can't help you on this one. I'm allergic to them really bad growing up. Don't want to try it as an adult incase I react to it. What are they good for?

Hi how much dandelion do you use, it is easy for bag greens I just grab a hand full but dandelion s are is scragly bunches and it is hard to judge how much to use un less you measure and I am not in to that. Boutenko tells how much by the bunch, that don't say much
