I've given fruit before and it's been very well received--also dried fruits and nuts. I think as long as it's nothing too exotic for the recipient it's great! There are some fantastic raw cookie and truffle recipes out there!

Here's a fudge recipe that I adore:

1 cup raw honey
1 cup coconut oil
1 cup raw cacao powder
1 tsp. vanilla extract

Blend all in a food processor or Vita-mix. Pour into a pan, refrigerate till firm. That's it! You can add nuts, dried fruits, coconut, or cacao nibs to it if you'd like. And heated slightly it makes an excellent fudge sauce!

EDIT: you can use agave in place of the honey if you like.

To be honest I have never given a vegan gift, because I am the only vegan here that I know of. I have given "the makings of a bean soup in a jar" gift as part of a gift basket. I do the same as you Raworganic vegan - I regift non-vegan gifts. I always give gifts with the caveat that they can be regifted and my feelings won't be hurt.

I just switched to raw vegan food. I'm a newbie convert! I often get gifted holiday treats because some of the gift givers do not know of my recent change. I accept the treats with a genuine thank you and a smile. Then I gift them to someone I know would appreciate them.

I have decided that next year I will be the cookie giver! And, it will be raw vegan cookies.

Have you ever given a gift of raw vegan food to anyone that you knew wasn't a raw vegan? What did you give and how was it received after they knew it was raw vegan?
