My body is so acidic, I want to do an extended juice feast. Has anyone every done a 20 day or longer juice feast? If so, what were your main veggies? How much did you drink a day?

I'd love to start juicing, but have done a little research on juicers, and they look sooooo complicated! I don't want to spend more than $100, but I don't want something that won't work. I'm fine with either a juicer, or a blender that would chop veggies well enough to drink. Any recommendations?

When I juice, my main ingredient always ends up being carrots so I do use my pulp for raw carrot cake. :) Since it's winter I bet the other pulps would be great in a soup base.

Thanks, Will! Much better than putting it in my compost.

That's a good idea, Will. If I juiced, I'd have to do something like that. I was raised by a depression era parent and throwing away food is just not acceptable. I'm sure some of it would end up in my parrots' food.

I make my own almond milk and I have no problems using the almond pulp in a variety of ways. In fact, it comes in pretty handy at times.

Hey TERJEGOLD,

My friend who juices never throws anything away. Whatever is left over when she juices she uses it to cook with. The leftover pulp makes nice flavors for seasoning foods, and many things can be used for making a nice loaf or bread. She made a spinach bread loaf recently. By juicing, she has made things that you probably would never see in a bakery but is really very yummy.

I have a "drink" everyday. I blend it and love it in the morning. It includes a green of some kind - spinach, kale or parsley and a banana - and whatever else i have around in the fruit area usually. Sometimes i add carrot, celery, cocoa, and/or aguave nectar if it isnt sweet enough. Then i add enough water to blend and some ice. I have an old style blender. It is what i drink after my morning workout along with a 16 ounce glass of water. I take it the leftovers to work and sip it till it is gone.

Not sure if you call it a smoothie, blended drink or "stuff" but i love my morning drink.

I have done juice from my champion juicer before as well but I really dont like tossing the pulp right now.

I love the thicker texture and I think, perhaps because of the amount of exercise I do, I really need the calories from the bulk. I think your creativity is awesome. You figured out a way to get the results you wanted even without the "optimal" equipment. Awesome!

I chuckle when people tell me they would be Vegan but they can't because they don't have the appliances they need. Yeah, right! LOL

That's funny that you said that because my last feast was more of a smoothie feast, I guess you'd call it. I put everything through the juicer and then put the pulp and juice together in the blender and had it that way. I don't have a Vita-Mix so I did the two-step process. ;)

I never juice. I do make blended drinks in my Vita-Mix, using greens, fruits, etc. I do that just about every morning. But I find I really need the whole food as opposed to just the juice. For me, it's boring, it's not "whole" enough and it's expensive since I'm basically throwing away a good portion of the foods.

I also have heard of others who get tremendous results with juicing.

It is very infrequent that I ever have any juice. I chomp down on the fruits or vegetables themselves but very seldom will I drink juice. I know people who do and they love it. One friend of mine has one day every week when she will only juice, consuming no solid foods. I may start doing that one day.
