My favorite is still PBJ.
I use unsweetened Vanilla Almond Milk
Frozen strawberries
Half a banana
and a spoonful of reduced fat peanut butter
with Vi Shake mix.
yummy, and the extra protein helps get me though those hungry times.

Just wanted to chime in with some yummy shake ideas:

Orange-- almond milk, 1/2 tsp orange jello powder or Vi orange mix in, r, 1/4 c mandarin oranges, 2 scoops Vi shake. 1/2 scoop Body Fitness vanilla protein powder (25 grams protein) crushed ice

Blueberry -- almond milk, 1/4 to 1/2 cup frozen blueberries, 6 oz. light n fit Greek blueberry yogurt, 2 scoops Vi Shake, 1/2 scoop Body Fitness vanilla protein powder, crushed ice

Chocolate peanut butter-- almond milk, 1 tablespoon peanut butter, chocolate mix- in or cocoa powder, 1/2 tsp to 1 tsp jello sugar free chocolate pudding powder, few oz diet coke, 2 scoops Vimshake, 1/2 scoop BodynFitness powder, crushed ice

Key Lime-- almond milk, Yoplait 100 cal Key Lime Greek yogurt, 1 tsp Key Lime pie sugar free filling, 1/2 tsp lime jello sugar free powde, 2 scoops Vishake, 1/2 scoop Body Fitness protein powder, crushed ice

Note: of course I make all these in the blender.
Note: since I started adding Body Fitness whey protein powder my weight loss has started again! It has extra amino acids. For me, Vi shakes don't have enuf protein. I think a trainer told me you need half your weight in protein Grams. So if you weigh 180, you need 90!grams of protein a day. Vi shakes have only 12 grams per 2 scoops.

That sounds amazing MRSGROUCHO! :)

I've tried some new ones recently....
Citrus Berry (tastes like a sweetart or pixie stick!)
4oz almond milk, 4oz OJ (I use Trop 50), 2 scoops of Vi, 1 strawberry pkt., 1/2c. strawberries (requests frozen, but fresh worked fine), 1 tsp. lemon juice, 6 ice cubes (I also add 1T ground flax to all my shakes, which you cannot taste). = abt. 2c.

Another fave is Chocolate Covered Strawberries
10oz. Almond milk, 2 scoops of Vi, 5 frozen strawberries, 1 chocolate flavor pkt (I used 1T cocoa), 4 ice cubes (1T flax is optional). =abt. 2c

My ultimate fave so far is After Glow Smoothie
4oz. Pom juice, 2oz OJ (Trop 50), 2 scoops of Vi, 1c. frozen pineapple, 5 ice cubes (1T flax, optional) = abt. 2-2.25c.

Monkey Shake
8oz. milk (I used skim because that's what we have on hand at home)
2 scoops of shake mix
chocolate mix in
1 medium banana
1Tbsp. ground flax

I accidentally grabbed a strawberry mix-in, but was still really good! Worth a try if you already like the Monkey shake!

I've got a new one for your guys! Just made it up yesterday!

Salted Peanut Butter Pretzel Shake

10oz almond milk
2 Tbsp peanut butter
2 scoops Vi Shake Mix
3-4 crushed pretzel chips
1 shake of salt (or a pinch of sea salt)
Ice to the consistency you like

First time I made a shake and actually wanted even more when I was done (I refrained! But I'm having one this morning!)

Geared up and gung-ho for my first 90-day challenge. Walking 5-days a week and eating sensibly. Gonna do this!

The peanut butter oatmeal recipe was awesome with the shake mix. I am trying to stay low carb on my meals - but this was a nice, healthy break. The nice thing about the shake mix is that it is low carb by itself - not filled with alot of sugar.

Katie, I mix my shake mix into oatmeal ocassionally as well. And as for the shake mix being 'diet' food. It's not. It is a nutritional supplement. I know people who use it to gain muscle or even to maintain or gain weight. I find that for me, to take the word 'DIET' out of my vocabulary works much better for me. Then I know that it is a permanent eating and lifestyle change. A diet to me is a temporary adjustment and when done I will go back to old habits. The old habits are what got me in the place I'm in and I don't want to go back to them. I'm glad that your family liked the cheesecake and now you know that it is a healthy dessert alternative. Good luck and good challenge.

I used SandyMilton's cheese cake recipe and made an actual cheesecake dessert that I served to my family when my parents came over for dinner this week. They never even knew it was "diet food"! Next time I am going to try it with the Granola-sounds Heavenly!

Yesterday Spark Recipes featured this recipe. I made it this morning, but I used almond milk and added my Vi-Shake mix to plain instant oatmeal before heating it in the microwave. Delicious, and very filling. Great for those days when you need a little "extra" to satisfy. recipes.sparkpeople.com/recipe-detai

There are some great shake recipes on here - can't wait to try them.

Two I really like:

Peppermint Patty

Almond milk, dark chocolate (I use a high anti-oxidant dark chocalate called XoActiv by Xocai) and 1/4 to 1//2 tsp peppermint extract. Add some ice and then blender. 2 scoops shake mix

Mocha:

Almond milk 1/2 c
instant coffee - decaff - 1 tsp.
Dark Chocoate XoActiv - 2 tbsp
Water & Ice cubes and blender.
Shake mix

Also - I often add psyllium husks as a fiber to my shakes and quite often add cayenne pepper for a kick (I like things spicy, and the cayenne helps mask the sweetness.)

Keep the great shakes coming!

Yogurt and Vi parfaits :)

6 ounces plain fat free Chobani Greek Yogurt (prefer greek for higher protein value)
2 scoops Vi shake mix
1Tbsp Jello Cheesecake dry mix (sugar & fat free)
mix in a little water, 1Tbsp at a time to get the yogurt to be a consistency you like
1/4 - 1/2 Cup diced fruit of choice

garnish with your choice of:
1 Tbsp graham cracker crumbs (I use Keebler)
or
a partial serving of your favorite granola (I prefer the Bare Naked Granola - Heavenly Chocolate)

This morning I had a slight variation that had no fruit but was absolutely divine

6 ounces plain fat free Chobani Greek Yogurt
2 scoops Vi shake mix
mix in a little water, 1Tbsp at a time to get the yogurt to be a consistency you like
1 packet of "Better Oats" - the flavor I chose was Lavish with dark chocolate (it's an old fashioned instant oatmeal with flax in it and it mixes beautifully and has nice thick oat flakes)

I have just started the challenge and this is great to find recipes! I made a chocolate peanut butter cheesecake (vi shake mix, 8 oz soy milk, 1 tbsp pb, 1 tbsp choc pudding mix, and 1 tbsp cheesecake pudding mix, ice and blend). It was great. I have also made one with the mix, 1/2 - 1 cup frozen mango, 8 oz V-fsion peach mango with energy and ice that's really good. Hope I have given you guys some ideas! Happy shakin emoticon

I've been experimenting with shake recipes and blogging about it. I love mixing it up with coconut water and berries.

Yes I promote the challenge, but only because everyone I know that has used the kits has been successful (myself included). Good luck! vishakerecipes.wordpress.com/

I'm out at my cottage right now, where I have limited freezer space, so I'm not able to keep my frozen fruits on hand. I tried an alternative today. I made a chocolate raspberry shake using 8 oz. of low fat milk, chocolate mix-in, and about 1/4 to 1/3 of a tsp of Raspberry Ice Crystal Light powder added to the shake. Threw in some ice and blended!

Turned out great! It wasn't too sweet and the Crystal Light flavor added a wee bit of tang! emoticon

You're right Almond milk is great and with so few calories. Good tip about the banana. If you think about it it makes sense, but most of us I'm sure have never thought about it sitting and getting stronger. Thanks for the tip.

Since I started Body By Vi, I've discovered this wonderful thing called Almond Milk. IT'S AWESOME! And so few calories. This challenge is just getting better and better by the moment.

A note about Bananas: If you are preparing your shake in the morning to take to work for lunch - don't use a banana. When I did it one time. The banana seemed to ferment over the 4 hours before I drank the shake and it was not great. It seemed to get very ripe and the shake also turned grey - not appetizing at all.

Sounds good.

Honeydew Melon Dream: 4 oz water, 1/4 cup non-fat vanilla yogurt, 2 scoops shake mix, 2 cup (5 large chunks) honeydew melon & 4 ice cubes. Blend ice & water first, then add shake mix & honeydew melon. Blend and enjoy!

Yummy blended coffee: 9 ice cubes, 1/2 cup unsweetened soymilk (would be good/maybe better with vanilla soy/almond milk too!), 2 servings of sugar free fat free white chocolate pudding, and a serving of visalus!

I tried another Source yogurt in my lunch shake today, one of what they call their 'dessert' yogurts. They still have only 35 calories each, 5 carbs and are sugar free. I added the creme caramel to my milk and shake mix, added ice and blended. Very yummy!! But I'm a caramel addict. Great way to get my fix! emoticon

The citrus delight sounds good. I'll have to try it.
I add yogurt to my shakes sometimes too. It does make them creamier. I use plain though and add the fruit to taste, but I can see where being diabetic that could jump the sugars up too much.
I like any with banana in them. I don't do too many things with chocolate. I'm one of the strange people that can take it or leave it and I leave it most of the time. A little goes a long way in my book. I bet that shake is very filling though.

I tried my lunch shake today with 3 heaping teaspoons (about 50 grams) of Source cherry yogurt. It tasted good, and was nice and smooth, which is how I prefer my shakes! I think next time I'll add just a bit more yogurt, for some added cherry taste. The Source yogurt is good for me, as a diabetic, because it's lower in calories and sugar, than adding frozen fruit all the time! (Although I still use that off and on too! emoticon )

Source (by Yoplait) has LOTS of different flavors, so I'm going see what others might work for me in my Vi-shake! emoticon

The peppermint sounds good. I've made GS thin mint cookie shakes and they are yummy. I use Almond milk most of the time in my shakes. My sister loves Rasberry. She uses the Rasberry Neuro, by Vi and mixes it with all kinds of different things. She likes Rasberry anything. Let us know of any other recipes you find you like.

Thought I'd put this post here too! emoticon

One of my favorites is the chocolate cherry - 8 oz. 1% milk, shake mix, 1/2 cup frozen cherries, chocolate mix-in, and I add an extra teaspoon or so of straight cocoa, as I like a stronger chocolate taste!

My second favorite is peppermint pattie - 8 oz 1% milk, shake mix, chocolate mix-in + a tsp of cocoa, some peppermint extract, ice cubes...and blend!

I also bought some Crystal Light flavors I'm going to try in the mix, such as raspberry pomegranate.

I saw the Blue Banana one posted on FB yesterday and was going to fix one this morning, but I'm out of bananas and the store didn't have anything but really green ones last night.

I love to do a mixed fruit shake. They are simple but yummy. I tried a new combo this morning and didn't care for it. I'll have to change it up some before I post it.

Ovaltine is a little sweeter than cocoa and works great in shakes with banana or strawberry.

That sounds good too.

This morning I had a butterfinger shake, so good.

8oz almond milk
1 T butterscotch pudding mix
1 T peanut butter
5 ice cubes
Blend and enjoy. I was really good and did taste like a butterfinger, which happens to be one of my favorite candy bars, lol.

Not a coffee fan myself, but if you are it sounds like it would be good. My niece posted a good flavor the other day. I have yet to try it though. She said if you like Bailey's Irish cream, to try the flavored creamer of that flavor. She said it was very good.
