You got it right Laura. We didn't do well last night at Trivia-went down to 7th out of 8 teams! We won't play next Mon as it is the 4th. Hoping we do better the next time!
I spent the morning working in our back garden. I am making progress-between pulling the weeds and my spraying for them last time I think I am finally getting the upper hand! I gave Abbie her bath and did some trimming on her face & beard. She goes to the groomer next Fri but I felt this needed done NOW.
I got DH's meds ordered, I found that his oncologist must not have sent in the refill script I requested at his Apr visit as there were no refills so I could not order his one medicine. I hope they will send a request to him for a new script but if they don't, I will have to call to get one sent in.

It's 72 with a high of 91 and mostly cloudy so shouldn't be as hot today as it has been. I gained 0.4# at weigh in last night which could be anything just need to give my new workouts another week or two for my body to adjust to them. My trainer said last night that week 2 of any new workouts will be better than week 1. No weigh in for chapter next week due to the holiday but I'll still have my morning weigh in. Plan for today is Chest/Shoulders/Triceps and 15 min of treadmill sprints then work later.

Where is everyone else?

Pat--(hope I got it right i have a hard time remembering names if there is no signature) Hope you enjoy your long weekend. How did you do on Trivia yesterday afternoon.

Sarah sounds like it is HOT there also. We are in the mid 90's. Rain all around us so hoping it cools us down some.
I am down to just 2 more work days. Had fun today with payroll-I only do this once a year so had to add 2 new maint. men and take one off. I managed to figure it out!! It isn't hard but if one has never done it then it is a bit of a challenge and it isn't something you can prepare for - only can do it when you need to add or remove an employee.
We are going to Trivia in about an hour. I ran errands after I got off work. Hopefully I won't have too much to do tomorrow-will do my outside work early.

It's 87 feels like 96. Home scale is down 0.7# from last week and my body fat is up 0.2% from last week. Not sure what tonight's scale will show waiting to see here after a while. Got my cardio workout in after I got off work at noon today.

Laura I work the month of June every summer so our office manager can have the month off. I only work 12-15 hrs a week so it isn't bad. I do a lot of volunteer work in the park also. I guess I never learned to just relax and do nothing! DH is always telling me to sit down and relax!!
We went to church this morning but I finished up my ironing before we left as I didn't get it all done yesterday so got up early enough to do that. We met friends for lunch after church and then had more friends over to play Hand & Foot this afternoon. The ladies won both games.
We kept hearing thunder but we didn't get any rain. I turned our sprinklers on again this evening as it is so dry here with the high temps. The rain near us did cool us down to about 84 so that felt good but it is climbing back up with the storms moving away from us.

It's 78 with a high of 81 and heat index in the 100's yet again. Plan for tomorrow is work truck then get in Monday Cardio before evening weigh in. Scale was up a 1.9# yesterday from Friday but was down 1.5# this morning from yesterday so not quite what I was on Friday. All I did different was I didn't have any sweets yesterday and I did on Friday.

Nancy sorry to hear about your knee problems. I have arthritis in one knee and a bad knee cap in the other. I had shots put in both knees about 3 months ago. My shoulder is not going to ever be the same and now I am going to pain management for my back. It was cooler for a while but today got warmer again. I overate last night and did not even bother to log the calories.

Pat are you ever going to fully retire and relax? It seems like you are always on the go.

NJ sorry the knee isn't progressing as you had hoped. I think you had best get that surgery scheduled for right after you return from the conference. There is never a great time to have surgery but sometimes we just have to "bite the bullet" so to speak. I have learned to make no long range plans because of that.
I have been trying to catch up some things around home today. DH did the vacuuming while I did the dusting, I also used the steam mop on the kitchen floor and worked on my ironing. I need to work on that some more and get it totally caught up. I have been putting things off while working so trying to get it all shipshape.

Sarah, I admire your dedication to exercise. More power to you! emoticon
I was on jury duty years ago, and we had to stay there in the "pool" room all week, weather we got called or not. Recently got another notice, but it was cancelled; but it, too, would have been a whole week. I rather like the idea of not having to stay a whole week.

Laura, I hope you had a real good time at the picnic last night. Smoozing with friends is very desirable for our good mental health. I'm glad your weather has cooled down a bit. Summer can be brutal - just ask Pat and Sarah!
Sometimes I wonder if the rain and warm (not hot) temps are a blessing - they cause the grass to grow and you have to get out and mow it! emoticon

Pat, I know you're winding down on your days in the office, and I'm sure you'll be glad to be through again. Hopefully the mgmt. co will get things straightened out soon (and correctly!)
Twins, huh? Yes, that could be interesting alright. I hope they work out so you don't have to go through the process again. Hang in there, it's tough right now trying to keep all the plates in the air, but you're almost done with the office work, and hopefully soon you'll have maintenance man/men to help with all the garden work.
Congratulations to Bob and Ellie. Yes, it sounds like they're going to be real busy before moving down there permanently. Gee, four months doesn't seem like much time to plan a wedding when you're also selling houses and doing all that takes. Good luck to them. emoticon

Nancy, great that your BIL is coming for a visit. I hope you all will be able to ride in great weather.
Yeah, "the best laid plans of mice and men...." Sorry DH had to go into the office yesterday. I hope it didn't take too long after all.
Oh dear. I hate it when I'm given a time something is to be done, then it doesn't happen. I hope they've gotten a chance already to look into the trike and take care of any problems.
Mmmm, a swimming pool right across the street. Sounds fantastic. Enjoy it!

Things just keep on plodding along for us. Next weekend is another of Josh's out-of-state tournaments, but we aren't going to go. Later this summer we plan to go to the one near Atlanta, GA. We went to there last summer and were quite impressed with it. Of course, with so many teams, they couldn't all play at the main venue (has four fields) for all games but ended up at various high schools. DH still insists on taking the Solstice. Look it up online and tell me how much YOU'D like to be squeezed in that for two days each way, plus having to put everything on a small basket behind the mid-life crisis vehicle. Will require washing clothes at least once while gone, but DH will do that. I haven't washed clothes since he retired over a decade ago.

The series of shots in my knee isn't doing what I'd hoped for, but I won't see the dr for a few more weeks. I'm beginning to "smell" surgery in my future. The dr said recover will be about three months. I have non-refundable tickets for my daughter and I to attend the Extraordinary Women's conference in Oct. So who knows when I'll be able to get surgery done - assuming we don't have a miracle in the meantime giving me complete temporary relief. sigh. Patience, NJ, patience.

Never, EVER give up. Just pick yourself up and keep going.

We finally got to enjoy our community pool last night. They had all kinds of trouble getting in ready and then it had to pass inspections. It sure felt good last night. I plan to get lots of use out of it, especially since it is right across the street! We're planning to go riding today it are still waiting to get the trike back. We had an appointment at 3:00 and as of 5:00 last night they hadn't even looked at it. Hopefully they'll get to it first thing this morning.

Nancy I agree a lot of meals are over sized and you feel stuffed after you eat them. I just had the 6 inch pizza and salad from Brothers Three yesterday and that was enough.

Pat it is supposed to cool down starting Monday here; take it easy there;

Going out again tonight for a picnic at a church members house.

Nancy hope you have a good time with BIL. Do hope it is good riding weather for you. Sounds like you are ready for the weekend-I need to get busy dusting-I could write my name on some of our wooden furniture!!!
It was a slow morning at the office so I reviewed some of the financial stuff and think I found an error so sent a fax to our mgmt. co - I think they entered some items on the wrong line so they have to correct.
95 at noon and it is feeling like 102! Won't be doing anything outside till later this evening.

It's 72 with a high of 92 and once again heat index in the 100's. Slight chance of rain again today we had severe storms mostly rain and flooding last night. Work a mid shift today so I don't want to press my luck that I can make it over and do my Cardio workout and back home to be ready for work in time.

Nancy--Thanks I'll try and get back on later to do personals.

NancyJ - I agree that restaurant options are too big. I ordered a grand slam at Denny's one morning and on,y ate half of it. I was still miserable. The next day I ordered off the senior menu and it was just enough! It's good that Tyler is learning to save money. That's an important lesson to learn.

Pat - I still enjoy my alone time! I'm not sure I could go from two or three days a week to 24/7 right off the bat! I have my time during the day while he's at work. Even when we're traveling, I have alone time while he's calling on customers. Sorry your gardens are getting ahead of you. Please don't do too much in this heatM

Sarah - It sounds like you're doing great!

We arriv d home last night and I got most of the laundry done. I just have one load left to fold. BIL is coming for the weekend. He's riding his bike from Illinois so we can go riding together. I need to do some light cleaning and pick up groceries before he gets here. We also have to drop off the trike for servicing. My husband was hoping t be able to work a short day from home today and then start his vacation. He ended up having to go in to the office though. Hopefully he can get everything done in a timely manner, but we all know how that can go!

Hi gang;
It has been pretty hot here too in Wisconsin in the 80's and humid. Our dog has a hard time with it cause she is older. We had rain yesterday and the grass is always growing. Have to try and put the guard back on the lawn mower again. UGH! Jenny told me that I cannot use it without it on. I swear it is more trouble than it is worth. The neighbor had to buy us a new wheel for it; it is one of the older models that has big wheels on the back.

Nancy I am sorry to hear about your daughter.

Pat be careful in that heat. You always seem so busy.

I got out about 9 am to work in the gardens and was simply dripping when I came in about 10:30. I got 2 beds cleaned but so many more to do. With no maintenance men to help at all, we are really behind and with me working 3 days a week it is too hot by the time I get out of the office. Guess we will catch up one of these days.

It's 80 feels like 85 with a high of 94 not sure of the heat index today but might be close to 100 again. Home scale is down 0.3# from yesterday. Plan for today is Back/Biceps with 15 min of Treadmill sprints. I work later so will get this done this morning after breakfast then get ready for work.

Sarah working very early does have it's benefits as that is a cooler time-I have to walk very early during our hot summers. Hope you are drinking lots of water to stay hydrated.

Nancy happy you have the option to go with DH or stay at the motel. That lets you decide what to do for the day. I know you are both enjoying this time together. When we first retired it was such a treat to be together but after 24/7 in close quarters in an RV for a few years, I do enjoy some "me" time these days!!

NJ before you know it it will be time for GS to head back to school. It is good that he can help you, it gives him a chance to earn a bit of spending money and great to teach him about budgeting his money.

I am down to just 4 days left to work. Things were slow today. Of course everything happened right at the last minute but I still got out on time. We have 2 workers signed on for a 90 day trial before we actually hire them-they are twins! This could get interesting. Sure hope they work out for us.
This afternoon we went to lunch with Bob & Ellie and they sprung news on us-they are going to get married!! They both lost their spouses about 6 mo apart and were friends before this. His late wife was also from Germany so she & Ellie were friends. They are talking like they might sell their respective homes up north and move down here full time. Exciting times. They plan to return home in about 3 weeks and will be back in early Oct and will have a lot to do if they get married while they are up there-all their children live up there. Will just have to see how this all pans out.

Pat, I'm glad the meeting was informational and a free meal is always a plus. I hope there were plenty of things Bill could eat, too.
Yes, having our wishes in writing would/definitely SHOULD be helpful, especially since there is disagreement among the survivors. Doesn't happen a lot, I imagine, but preparation on our part would help a lot.

Long before my folks died, Mom asked each of us kids and grandkids what belongings we would like to have. She wrote it all down, my older sister made sure we all got our desires. Also, Mom wanted certain ones of us to have certain things - for example, Dad's dress sword and (Navy) medals went to a particular grandson. Actually, when Dad died (years before Mom), a number of things were sent home with each of us. That's when I ended up with my first choice - a ship's clock Dad had gotten overseas when I was in Jr. High. My sisters didn't want it, and I DID! Now if I awaken during the night, I can hear the clock strike a certain number of "bells" on the hour and half hour, and I know what time it is. LOL

Oof! Sarah, I can hardly imagine living in those temperatures. My comfort zone is so small. Haha. I hope you were able to get well-rested today. Those early mornings can really catch up and cause problems.

Nancy, now that reaction to the tetanus shot is just adding insult to injury. I hope the Benadryl helps your DD. I'm glad for her that it isn't her dominant hand, but you're right, needing two thumbs and not being able to use one is the pits.

I understand your DH wanting to stay in evenings when he's on the road all day. And it's a bonus to have some of supper leftover for the next day. In fact, most restaurants give such big portions, that I often bring some home for the next day. emoticon

I hope Tyler is enjoying his time helping us. Even if he doesn't enjoy a particular chore, I know the thought of getting $$ at the end of the week spurs him on. After getting paid a couple of weeks ago, he asked Mom to order a new video game online (cheaper than the store). She picked it up after work, and that's why he didn't want to come work for us the next day, No work - no pay. He does plan to save some of the money - Grandpa told him up front that that needs to occur.

Sounds like you have the best of all worlds - being with your husband, getting walking exercise, AND being able to relax in the car. emoticon

I couldn't find a favorite crocheted hat pattern, so had to go online and print another copy. I also "saved" it to a thumb drive so I'll always have it - it took a long time for me to find the pattern today. The hat can be made masculine, or feminine. I like to make some of each version to give to the homeless shelter, also, some adult sizes and some kid sizes.

Near supper time, so I'd better make an appearance so I can have some. LOL DH is preparing lamb chops. Yum. We get them now and again when they're on sale. I have a yummy marinade for them, so they don't taste 'gamey'. Got it in England a thousand and one years ago.

G'Nite
emoticon

Never, EVER give up. Just pick yourself up and keep going.

Pat - Thanks for your kind thoughts for my daughter. She said it's not too bad, but she is having an allergic reaction to the tetanus shot. Her face is swollen. That's what she does when she go poison ivy too. The doctor told her to take Benadryl. It's good that you're preparing for when that time comes. My parents had everything taken care of so all we had t do was call the funeral home. My in-laws didn't even have life insurance so my husband and I paid for everything. Luckily he was able to borrow from his 401k.

NancyJ - No, it's not her dominant hand, but there are a lot of things you need two thumbs for! I'm sure she middle her way through it though. We do have backyard privacy where we live. I believe that all the houses have six foot privacy fences around them. It does help dealing with houses rough on the other side of the fence. I hope you enjoyed your time on the road for the tournament. When we travel, my husband prefers to have dinner in the hotel. After driving all day he just likes to stay in. We ordered Pizza Hut pizza and pasta on Monday night. I had part of the pasta for lunch yesterday and we're planning to finish the rest tonight. I'm with him today making store visits. I bet Tyler is enjoying his time helping you guys!

I decided to go with my husband today and keep him company instead of spending the day at the hotel. It was nice to be able to swim, but I also enjoy the time with him. I will either sit in the car (which is what I'm doing now) or walk the stores for exercise.

It's 81 feels like 87 with a high of 99 and a heat index of over 106. Plan for today is Legs/Abs and 15 min of treadmill sprints. Starting tomorrow think I'll do an ab workout on my own using some of the exercises that we used for the ladies class a few years ago. Off today so going to rest after 2 early morning days the last 2 days. I was up at 3:30 yesterday and Monday so glad to sleep in a little bit.

Nancy, I'm sorry your DH spent so much time outdoors the other day that he came in sick from the heat. Glad he's ok now.
Yes, today's subdivisions are built one house on top of another. Backyard privacy? Doesn't exist.
Still busy, busy I see in getting everything the way you want it in your house. : ) I'm glad you are getting things accomplished, as you'll feel better about living there, even tho' I understand you want more land and to build another home one of these days.
Oh how sad that your daughter cut her thumb. I'm glad she had someone there to drive her to get those stitches. I gather it's her dominant hand, no less - isn't that always the way it goes! I hope she heals quickly.
How nice that you get to accompany your husband on his business trips, and use those great hotel facilities. emoticon

Sarah, how terrible to have to unload a truck in all that heat. I'm sure you stayed hydrated but still.... I'm glad you got your new workouts; I know you've been forward to them.

Ugh, Pat! Your temps are bad enough, but the heat index. That's one reason I just don't miss living down South.
That well check must have been scary until you found out the man was in the hospital. I'm glad you took someone with you to check on him.
I'm glad you and your friends had a good time on the 18th, Sometimes it's the serendipitous things that are the most fun.
Since we were out of town, my DH's Father's Day dinner was last night after we got home Father's Day lunch was at a little restaurant in Appomattox, VA with family. That day, Josh's game started at 7:00 P.M., so we grabbed sliders at Arby's for supper when the game ended.
Wishing you good luck with finding a good maintenance man.
You and Bill (and Sonny and Vickie) are so smart to get as much done in advance of its need. I would like to be cremated -- I figure I'M not there, so there's no need (in my opinion) to bury a body. I'd rather remain in your heart. My DH, on the other hand, wants his body buried - doesn't like the idea of cremation. To each his/her own.

As noted in my blog, we went to Southern VA to watch Josh's first tournament with the Dirtbags. I was rather disappointed, but Josh's Dad has another outlook on these tournaments.

We took Darby, which necessitated us taking turns going to breakfast at the motel, and picking up take-out for dinner and eating in our room. Lunches were mostly sandwiches we made, along with some other stuff we'd brought from home. Our dinners weren't all fast food. One night DH went to Applebee's and got us salads. Another was a trip to a BBQ place, which included two sides, and no, we didn't get French fries. Still, I'm sure I gained weight. I'll check tomorrow.

Tyler came today and mowed and othwise helped Grandpa with outdoor stuff. He's due back Thursday, and since G-pa will be at the shelter for a few hours, Tyler is going to do stuff indoors for me. DH and I are going to find it hard to readjust to doing our own chores when school resumes this fall. Haha

The colored band of my FitBit Charge is peeling away from what's underneath. I've contacted the company and am hoping for a free replacement, I've read comments on the FitBit site and it's a common problem. Wonder why.

Never, EVER give up. Just pick yourself up and keep going.

It's 96 but feels like 105 for today but started out in the mid 70's this morning. I got in my Chest/Shoulders/Triceps with 15 min of treadmill sprints and burned 433 calories. I gained 0.2# at chapter last night but think I might have it off by now.

Nancy glad you were able to get the garage organized. Hoping you get your cabinets here soon. I am sure you are happy to be able to travel with DH. Do hope DD's thumb heals quickly. Even a paper cut on a finger hurts so sound like this is a lot worse.

We went to a seminar this morning with Vickie and Sonny. All four of us are trying to get our affairs in order so when that time comes our kids won't have a lot to do. Their daughter has a terrible time making a decision and we have a blended family so thinking it best to leave nothing to chance. This was to get information on cremation. We are all thinking that is what we want to do.

Pat - It had cooled off a bit for us too so it wasn't bad working in the garage. We have it as organized as we can get it until he get his cabinets. I'm glad it cooled off for you. How scary to do the wellness check! I'm glad it turned out the way it did. How nice that you got together with friends for cards and grilling.

Sarah - It sounds like a me you get quite a workout for your job! Unloading trucks is hard work. Especially in the heat. I'm glad you got your workouts. Good luck with weigh in.

I'm had a good weekend. We worked on the garage Saturday morning and relaxed the rest of the weekend. My son and daughter called for Father's Day. Then my daughter texted me to let me know she was ok, but had cut her thumb pretty bad. I texted her back and she called me in tears, her fiancÚ was driving her to the hospital to get it looked at. She had to get five stitches. Now she's feeling pretty helpless as she can't use her thumb! We're traveling this week. My husband is at a ,eating all day today so I'm hanging at the hotel. im going to use the fitness equipment and then swim.

It's 72 with a high of 92 for today. Still no new workouts yet might just do last month's workouts this week until my trainer and his wife get back next weekend from vacation. Plan for tomorrow is Monday cardio after work and before evening weigh in.

Got some park gardening done early this morning and then wasn't planning on company but got a text and friends wanted to come over so I invited them to come for cards and we grilled. Had a great time - we haven't gotten together in almost 2 months.

Hot day but not as hot as yesterday. We ended up unloading the truck at 11AM as it was supposed to be there at 5AM yesterday but delayed until today same time but didn't come until 11 and we got done about 2PM. It's not as hot as it was yesterday so I'm thankful for that with unloading the truck. No work schedule yet so that means no workout plan yet. As of 4PM I still don't have my new stuff but will ask when I send my weekly check in e-mail here shortly.

Nancy don't get too hot out there working in the garage-try to get your work done early and drink lots of water!

We are a tad cooler today-rain all around us so it dropped us down into the mid 80's. Sure a welcome relief.
I am glad the week is over-just 2 more weeks to work and then I get to retire again! Had to do a well check today-a daughter could not reach her father so went with Dan to check on him. No one home but car was there! Called the hospital and he was admitted on Wed! No one knew and daughter wasn't notified. I am just happy that is what it was.
Tonight is potluck but during the summer we go out to eat so have to leave here in about 30 min.

Pat - I probably wouldnt have thought to ask for the plans either. But the previous ow we left them when they moved out so we just packed them when we moved. It's been miserable hot here too. My husband had to be outside all day Wednesday and Thursday. He was half sick when he came home.

NancyJ - Congrats on losing! A loss is a loss! We bought this house in a hurry to get us to Arkansas. Every time we found a house online it was sold by the time we had a chance to co e look at it. This one is nice, and I like it a lot, it just isn't "perfect". My husband wants a bigger garage, and we'd both like a little more than e land. I don't know why they feel the need to,build houses right on top of each other.

Yesterday I finished my cleaning the met my husband for lunch. The project for this weekend of to get more work done on the garage. I did a little clean up work out there to get ready. I have to drop of a couple of bookcases at habitat restore and pick up groceries.

Ah youth - when Tyler realizes there is no pay for no work then it will be too late for this week!

It was another crazy busy day for me-worked the morning and then we ran errands before coming home and I did some cooking-DH needed more rice krispie treats and I made grape salad before getting corn prepared to cook for supper. I made baked cauliflower for supper also as it is one of DH's favorites and low in calories. It was another hot day out-95 with a heat index of 101 (lower humidity saved us).

Pat, How great that your vision (and that of Bill) is holding steady. I'm sorry you both need more eye vitamins, but I'm glad "they" make such things. Sometimes I think what it must have been like living even 100 years ago! And really, such wonderful strides in medicine in just my lifetime. I hope the new vitamins help you and Bill.
Do you play something like "Trivial Pursuit" or is it something else altogether? DH and I watched Jeopardy the other night, and I jumped in with the correct answers several times. DH looked at me - guess he didn't think I knew much. Haha
Oh my! I'm glad the shower helped you feel better, but sorry you'd been out in the heat so long so you felt so bad.

Sarah, it IS nice to see the scale go down a bit on a regular basis. More power to you for all you do to make that happen. Ugh! You sure get home late. I hope you're able to eat something to keep your strength up.

Nancy, I get frustrated with our homeowners' association sometimes. When we moved in, it was mostly just an 'on paper' thing, but then someone got the bright idea to make life difficult for the rest of us.
I'm glad you have a number of cabinets for storage, but hope you'll be able to store the bigger stuff somewhere other than your guest room!
Since you just moved, I'm sorry you know you'll have to move again one of these days, but like Pat, I think it's neat that you have the plans from your previous home and are planning to find land and build. How clever of your husband to utilize tool benches instead of a work bench.
I pray everything works out well in your eyes.

Tyler got a new computer game the other evening (Mom ordered online and picked it up at the store), so he just plain didn't want to come over and work yesterday. Due to conflicting schedules the rest of this week, he won't be coming over. I wonder when it will dawn on him that he won't get paid this week either.

My friend feed will show I lost a few pounds, but my previous weight check was a couple of months ago, so the loss (while good) isn't anything to brag about......still, it WAS a loss, and I'll take it.

Never, EVER give up. Just pick yourself up and keep going.

It's 79 with a high of 97 and another hot rest of the week in store. Heat index probably in the 100's again today. Plan for today is do something here at home after work since I haven't gotten my workouts yet and I work 10:30-5:45 and I wouldn't get home til after 7PM so that's too late for me to eat dinner. Will see how tough the workouts are and the cardio I have to do after the lifting if I do a double workout tomorrow or skip a cardio only day and do one workout tomorrow and one on Friday.

Nancy what awesome thought to get the plans when you loved your house! Now you will have time to look for the perfect site to build on. Not sure I would have thought of that!

I got out early to work in the park gardens this morning-spent from 7 am to 9:30 and by the time I came home I was slipping and sliding in my Crocs I was that sweaty!!! I thought I was going to pass out so took a cool shower to get revived but sure did do a number on me.

Pat - We felt that way about our last home. We both absolutely loved it! In fact, the former owners left the blue prints and we brought them with us so we can build it here! We knew when we purchased this one it wasn't forever. We were just anxious to get moved here, and it was so hard looking when it was 8 hours away. I think we'll look for a piece of land we like and build our own home.

I went to the eye doctor yesterday too. I need new contacts. My glasses prescription changed a bit, but not enough to get both new glasses and contacts. I'm being treated for high pressure in my eyes so he wants me to come back so he can check on that.

It's 73 with a high of 90 and possible heat index into the 100's. Slight chance of rain later today but we will see. I lost 0.6# at chapter last night. Plan for today is May-June's Chest/Shoulders/Triceps and 15 min treadmill sprints if I don't get in June-July's before 2PM.

Sorry to hear that you already know this isn't where you want to stay forever. But, it does seem one just knows when it is right! We felt that way when we saw this place and 10 yrs later still feel the same way-it is HOME!
We had to go to the eye dr today and both of our vision is holding steady so that is good news!! However, dr wants DH to start eye vitamins and wants me talk bilberry so now must get more eye vitamins.
We played trivia with our group tonight and we placed 4th out of 8 teams.

Pat - I have cabinets in my laundry room, and we have cabinets in the guest bathroom that we don't use. There isn't a lot of space for big things other than the attic. We used to live in a mobile home and I wouldn't store things under it either. We did have a storage shed in the yard though. We can't have that here, the home owners association won't allow it.

Nancy J - I was able to match the paint, so that project is finished. The garage is all that's left. He decided to use tool benches instead of building a work bench. New purchased three of the drawer u it's on wheels and he is going to put wood on top as a work bench. That way we can take it without next time we move. Sad, but we already know this isn't our "forever" home.

Mmmmm, Nancy. Free entree's and a pie were a great treat. DH and I always get a slice of pie at the Village Inn in Ogden, UT after every Weber State basketball game. : ) Their pies are great! We were surprised one time, that a couple we hadn't even noticed, paid for our pie before they left. Wish we could have thanked them.

I hope the cabinets come in a timely fashion and that there are no problems with them. I always hold my breath when I order online. I'm glad you're accomplishing so much of getting your house the way you want it. The lift in the garage sounds like a great idea.

It's a shame that you're having trouble finding 'touch up' paint in what was left for you. But you're right, bathrooms are generally small enough that even if you have to repaint the whole room it won't be a huge job.

Sarah, you sure get a lot of steps in each day. emoticon Good willpower to not eat any of the candy "decorations". Good luck with your exercise plans. I hope it all works in your favor.

Although it's a bit early to be 'perfect' Pat, the series of shots is beginning to help. I do wear a brace when I know I'll be walking a lot, especially over uneven grassy areas. Just want to give my knee as much help as I can.

Tyler is so much fun to be around (as long as you aren't his parents - he can be a real booger to them). I had him dry the kitchen/breakfast room floors last week, and he thought it was a lot of fun.

Glad to hear of the good doctor news. That's surely brightens the day.

Your bargains are wonderful. I wish our Salvation Army and Good Will stores were so far out of the way, as I understand they have good deals, many things still having tags on them.

I bought a "Frog" cooling cloth for DH a year or so ago, and this summer I insisted he use it. It had to admit it helped. My 90 degree days aren't quite as miserable as yours, even tho' we do get humidity, it's nothing like yours.

We were up late Saturday, so caught the story of the shooting in Orlando. Since one of our DD's and her DH used to live there, they were interested when we told them what little we knew at breakfast the nedt morning - they don't stay up late. You hit the nail on the head when you said the gunman was evil - there is increasing amounts of evil in the world these days. I, for one, will be glad when Jesus comes again and takes us away from it.

I'm sorry your friend who had the heart surgery had a setback, but glad he was able to come home again.

Never, EVER give up. Just pick yourself up and keep going.

It's 71 high of 86 and slight chance of rain for today. Plan for today is May-June Cardio/Abs before weigh in tonight. My scale is down 0.4# from last week and body fat is down 0.1% from last week and for the month I'm down 2.2 and body fat is up 0.1% for the month. Looking forward to getting my new workouts hopefully this afternoon so I can get a couple of them put into templates for tomorrow's workouts. If what happened last week holds true I'll be down 0.4 from last week as well tonight but will have to wait and see what the chapter scale shows tonight.

What is wrong with our society? Woke to the breaking news of the shooting in Orlando and still feel shocked that someone could be so evil. Was happy to attend church this morning-felt the love there and helped to pray with others for the victims and their families. I fear this is what our society has come to. Not a good thought.
We had Sunday dinner with our friends and after coming home to change our clothes and pick up Abbie, we went to visit our friend who had the major heart surgery about 4 weeks ago. He is home now but recovery is going very slow. He has had a reaction to the medication and ended up back in the hospital for 4 days last week. Enjoyed visiting with he and his wife but was glad to get home and relax.
We are hearing thunder so hoping we get some rain-it is much needed. I have to go to bed early tonight so I can get out to walk before heading to work. Need to get back into my groove.

Had a great meeting this morning and there were individually wrapped lifesavers candy sitting on the tables as part of the decoration but we could eat them and I never ate even one. I still have a little bit to go before I can send my food journal to my trainer. Might eat some toast or something after church then get it completed.

Nancy the lift would be nice to make access easier. We have storage in our laundry room and it isn't too high-shelves on either side of it but I still have to get on the 2 step utility ladder to access it and that is ok now but I worry I won't be able to eventually. In a mobile home one never has much storage-no basement! I know some people store items under their homes but we aren't going to do that. Our neighbor had quite a job getting it cleaned out from under hers when her DH passed away-he was a pack rat.
I bought a cooling cloth for my outside work today-now need to see if it helps. I can't take the heat in the summer time-have to work very early or late when we hit the 90's.
We are going to Bob & Ellie's tonight for dinner-he is grilling a steak and not sure what else. I made a grape salad to take.

Pat - Goodnewa about Bill's check-up! It sounds like you had a busy day. You always find such good deals, I wish we could go shopping together! The house is al out the way we want it. Hubby wants to gets lift installed in the garage so we can get things into the attic easier. The we can clean out the bedroom that is currently being used as storage. Today he wants to buy wood and build a workbench in the garage. The next step will be the metal cabinets.

It's 74 with a high of 88 for today. Today will be busy leaving in half hour or so for my final TOPS area/state event then stop on the way home for lunch since the event runs to noon. Should be home in time for church tonight but it doesn't matter since I saw next weeks work schedule and I work 1-7 tomorrow. May not but that's OK make my steps goal of 250 plus per hour today but that's OK I'll get my 12K steps in for the day one way or the other.

NJ do hope the shots give you some relief and more mobility. No fun when it hurts to walk. Happy you are getting to spend some time with Tyler. I am sure he is enjoying the special attention and the ability to make a little spending $$. Seems like school is just out and before long we will be talking about it starting again!
Nancy it sounds like your house is coming together and you are getting it the way you want it. What a bonus-free lunch and dessert for later. Doesn't get much better than that.
Bill & I both left at 7:45 this morning. He to go out with his buddies for coffee and donuts (which he can't eat!-he has a breakfast sandwich with no bread!). I headed to work and was in the office from 8-11. While I was working, Sonny took Bill to his appt. with the oncologist so I didn't have to leave even earlier. Things are good on that front too. I picked Ellie up and she & I went to my podiatrist appt. in Clermont. I had to be there at noon. Afterwards, we ate lunch and visited a couple of thrift stores, JC Penney and Target. I picked up a pr of capris and a pr of Bermuda shorts for $1.99 each and a wreath for our front door at the thrift stores. At Penneys I used my $10 coupon to purchase a $38 blouse-got it for $4.76 since it was on sale too! I picked up the Good Belly for Bill at Target as it isn't available in town. By the time we got back home, it was 5!
Another hot one-92 today.

Nancy J - My husband has to order the cabinets. He checked online, and the ones he wants are from Menard's. There isn't one close so he'll order online and have them delivered. I'm not sure if we'll install the ourself or if he'll hire someone to install them. It's good that you are able to keep Tyler a couple of days a week. I'm sure he enjoys spending time with you. Earning some spending money is a bonus! I hope your knee feels better soon.

Today my husband suggested going out for lunch instead of him coming home. I went to his office and he drove to the Village Inn. The welcome lady had given us coupons for two free entrees and a whole pie. If you're not familiar with the Village Inn, they make awesome pies. We picked caramel pecan silk. It will be nice after dinner tonight. I'm having trouble matching the paint in our half bath. I've tried two different colors. One is too light and one is too dark. I'm going to look in the garage to see if there is another can that will match. This is the o lay spot we haven't been able to match for doing touch ups so I can't complain. At least it's a small room if we have to reprint the whole room it won't be too hard.

Sarah, sorry you got a sty, but it sounds like the meds are helping. I hope it's already all gone.
You sure work at losing weight. More power to ya! Sounds like a real good workout at work.
What a bummer to wake up with a headache. Hope it went away without ruining your whole day.
How was the recital? I hope you enjoyed it.

Thank you, Nancy. I DID have a fun time at stitching last week. Didn't go last night as I wanted to watch Josh's game.

I always enjoyed the visits by the Welcome Lady. They are full of information of the area, and have great handouts and coupons, and other little gifts. Once, I even got a yardstick, which was nice since didn't have one yet.
Whew! Glad you were able to paint to match the garage and cover up the "mistake."
I found cleaning some every (most) days to be a less-stressful way to get it done. When are you getting the new cabinets installed?

Pat, I did take my computer to a guy, who explained that Windows 10 requires at least 8 MG of memory instead of the TWO MG I have. My SIL said he'd take care of that for free. I hope he finds the time before long.
Just think, only two more weeks. :) Wishing you a relatively uneventful two weeks at that. How rude for people to come to your home and expect you to work. Yes, they DO need to learn what Part Time is.
How did your son's surgery go? I hope he's recovering nicely.
So sorry you got hit with that tropical storm. Glad it wasn't a hurricane, but I know it was strong anyway.
Oh, your poor friend. Good that the dr got it all.
Woo-Hoo! Great news from the ortho dr for Bill. Glad to hear it.
A slow leak in a tire is so annoying - you hate to do anything to it before you have to, but having to put air in it every couple of days is also a pain in the neck.

I'm hoping Tyler WILL mature with being home alone most of the summer. My DH and I had Tyler over part of two days this week and worked him real good. He mowed the lawn (DH supervised), weeded, and did something else for Grandpa. I was able to mop my kitchen and breakfast rooms and had Tyler dry them. Had him stand on the ends of an old bathtowel and 'walk' it across the floor. He had FUN with that. :) I couldn't have done it myself. We expect to have him over a couple of days a week, doing chores. Of course, he gets paid for his work. :)

Speaking of my leg (ok, you weren't) I got the third and final shot this week, and now have to wait 2-3 weeks to see how well it does. I'll go back to the ortho dr six weeks from now, and if we're both happy with the progress, he'll start lifting my restrictions.

I'm still having to step up or down stairs one at a time, bringing my other leg to that same step before I take another. It takes a long time to go up and down stairs. Ha! Also, no running, no jumping, no squatting, no kneeling, no.... You get the idea. I'll sure be glad when I can resume a more normal regimen.

About time for (an early) lunch so we can go grocery shopping. Then I have a task or two to take care of this afternoon. Y'all have a great weekend.

Never, EVER give up. Just pick yourself up and keep going.

Pat - People can be so rude. I'm sure they would t like being asked to work when they were in personal time. Good for you for telling them to come see you at the office!

Sarah - Smacking sabotages my efforts too. Since I'm home full-time I really need to get that under control. I do great when I stay busy.

Yesterday I finished my cleaning then picked up a few things from the store. My husband might only work 1/2 day today so maybe we can go for a ride this afternoon.

It's 72 with a high of 91 for today and not a chance of rain until sometime next week. Plan for today work 10-3 then Friday Cardio/Abs. Home scale up a little but need to get my home alone snacking under control I think that is my vise that sabotages my weight loss efforts. Not sure of my workout schedule for next week yet as not sure of the work schedule and should have new month's workouts on Monday or Tuesday since my trainer and his wife are going on vacation for a week or two.

I am amazed that people are thinking when I am out an about that they can come and expect me to take care of things! I just tell them to come see me in the office now. If they don't come in then I don't feel like I need to address their issues. Not sure what they would want someone expecting them to work on their time off before they retired. Since I am not full time and not a licensed CAM there is only so much I can do and I like it that way.
Today I took DH to the ortho doc and he is finished there unless the shoulder starts bothering him again. After we left there, we went to the tire shop and got a leak in one of our tires repaired. It was a slow leak that had gotten to the point of needing air added every 3-5 days so it was time to take care of it. I feel much better now about driving.
I got a few things done around the house after we got thru with the errands, ironing caught up, some yard work done, etc.

It's 76 with a high of 90 for today. Plan for today is Back/Biceps then 20 minutes of treadmill sprints. Scale is up 0.4# from yesterday but that's OK I got hot and ate a few too many snacks after dinner. Eye is feeling and looking better the bump is going down and it's not as red. Hoping to get to go to a recital on Sunday to have my eye dr look at the comparison from last Thursday the close up photo I took compared to now. The recital is a violin recital for my cousin that's my eye doctor his son.

It's 65 with a high of 89 for today. Woke up with a headache so not sure if I'll go get my leg workout in or not. Going to wait a little while and see if it goes away after breakfast. Home scale is down 0.7# from yesterday and body fat is up 0.1% from yesterday. I got to thinking yesterday and I just have 15 or 16 more TOPS weigh in's not sure if we are going to weigh in on Labor Day or not. If I get to do my leg workout later I'll do 15 minutes on the Stair Master level 9.

Pat - I think most of our neighbors work, so I won't see them out in the neighborhood during the day. The yards here all have six-foot privacy fences so we won't see them in their yards either. Maybe once the pool opens people will be out. I don't know how many people my age live here, it seems to be younger families. It would be very frustrating to have people coming to your home expecting you to work! Hopefully, since there are no pre closings you wo t have to work as much. I'm glad you didn't get any damage from the storm.

Yesterday I did my exercise routine then cleaned part of the house. I'm splitting the house cleaning like I used to so I don't have to spend a whole day cleaning. My daughter sent me tulips in pots for my birthday in March. I finally planted the bulbs yesterday. I'm out sure if they will grow again or not. I've only planted tulips once before and I remember doing that in the fall. We'll see what happens.

Think the last of TS Colin has moved on from us. We ended up with over 3" of rain from it but sustained no major damage here. We did have some palm fronds blown down, etc.
I had to work from 8:30 to 10:30 today. We did 2 closings and do not expect anymore this month.
I took a friend to the dermatologist this afternoon and that took almost 3 hours. The dr would take a biopsy and then have it checked and had to do that twice before it came back clean. She now has 9 stitches in her forehead and will likely have a black eye.

It's 67 with a high of 81 for today. I gained 1.2# at chapter last night but that was over 2 weeks. Morning weigh in had me down 0.7# since the previous Monday. Strange how both of the weight's were the same and I had on different clothes. The AM weigh in I had on PJ's and the evening weigh in I had on workout clothes. I'm starting my final week of this training month so need to do measurements on Friday morning. Plan for today is work 10AM-3:15PM then Chest/Shoulders/Triceps and 15 min of Cardio on the Elliptical RPM above 50.

Sarah hope you show the loss you desire tonight. Always hard to have a loss when one is weighing late in the day!

Nancy sounds like you are starting to get settled in your new home. I do hope you will be able to make some friends as that will make the adjustment that much easier. I find living like we have (rv parks and the mobile home park) tends to make making friends easier than in a subdivision. Also, we aren't all going to work so we are out and about!!

I had a busy morning and had not planned on working tomorrow but now I have 2 closings to do so will have to go in again for a couple of hours. These people seem to think I am working a regular 40 hr week like Sharon does instead of just being a "fill in" to take care of the necessities. I don't mind trying to help but not too happy when they come to my house wanting me to do things for them. Will have to try to stress what part-time help is to them!!
We are having periods of heavy rain and some wind from TS Colin but nothing too bad. Looks like the worst is past us.

Pat - I'm not sure if the friendship with the welcome lady will develop, but we did seem to click. I hope the rain will cool things off for you and not just make it more humid, and you don't have wind damage.

Sarah - It sounds like you'll get plenty of exercise today at wI Rd.

Saturday we went through the paint cans that were left when we moved and did some touch up painting. We thought we found the right paint for the garage, and bought a gallon since the can was empty. It wasn't a match and we thought we were going to have to paint the whole garage. We double checked and found the right paint so only had to redo what we had touched up. Next project is getting cabinets installed so we can fully organize it. Today I will do laundry, iron, and do some cleaning. I may start doing some cleaning each day instead of trying to tackle it all in one day. I'll also be doing some exercise.

It's 60 with a high of 87 for today. Home scale is up 1.2# from yesterday but down 0.7# from last week so just hope I can be careful enough today to have a loss tonight. I want to prove that I can lose weight on my own without my wonderful TOPS friends. Plan for today is work 10-4 but get plenty of steps and lifting in unloading the truck and stocking new stuff today at work.

We had a good turnout at church this morning. They honored the graduates in the service. 6 of us went out for lunch afterwards and then home. Have talked to friends and family up north this afternoon. DH's son is having shoulder surgery on Tues, please keep him in your prayers.

The rain from the storm brewing in the Gulf has arrived. It has been quite heavy and strong winds. Looks like we are in for 24-48 hours of this.

It's 62 with a high of 79 for today. Home scale is down again from yesterday and close to if not the weight I was last chapter weigh in so should be OK for either a small loss or stay the same tomorrow night. Work 2-8 today then work 10-4 tomorrow so no time tomorrow for Monday Cardio before weigh in but I'll get something in unloading the truck at work.

It's 67 with a high of 83 and currently we have light rain. Home scale is down 1.1 from yesterday and the lowest I've been all week. Plan for the week is to hit the gym hard on Tuesday after I let the antibiotics I'm taking for my eye have time to start working between 4PM yesterday and after 3PM on Tuesday. Hoping this weight can hold through Monday both morning and evening weigh in's.

Nancy so happy about the visit with the Welcome Lady. Do hope this will become the start of many more friendships you will make. It sure helps to break the ice when you make that 1st friend who helps introduce you to others.

I am happy the weekend is here-just 3 more weeks to go!!! I survived but it has been busy for me. Did walk this morning before work and went to the pool this afternoon and then to a BBQ this evening. My usual busy day!! And it was HOT-it was hot when I got out to walk at 5:45! No wind.

NJ - I hope you had a good time stitching last name night. It sounds fun. I hope Josh keeps his positive attitude about his job. It will be hot, but good for him to have a job. Our daughter was home alone during summer at age 11. She did fine. Of course, it all depends on the child. I'm sure Tyler will be fine too, especially with you and his friends mom keeping an eye on him.

Pat - I hope you got better sleep last night. It's hard getting used to a new schedule.

A lady from the Welcome Services came by yesterday. She had originally stopped by a few weeks ago and I cited us to dinner with her husband and another couple. We weren't available then so I scheduled a home visit for yesterday. We chatted about a variety of things and found we have a lot in common.she left several booklets and brochures about the area alone with some give certificates and coupons. She ended up staying four hours! I hadn't expected her to be here that long, but he time flew. She said she'll be in touch and mentioned us doing something one afternoon. Maybe I have a new friend!

It's 65 with a high of 76 and a chance of rain most of the day. Plan for today is a rest day since I have what looks like a Stye in my eyelid and am getting some medicine called in this morning by my eye dr. Home scale is the same as yesterday but still up from Wednesday. Working hard still for a loss on Monday both Morning and evening weigh in's.

NJ it is definitely time to take the computer in-sounds like it is infected! Sounds like the GS's are growing up. When my boys were little my sitter was 12! She stayed with them at my house in the summer. She was the oldest of 6 girls. Maybe this will help T-man mature!!

I am running late tonight so going to be brief. Had very little sleep last night so didn't get to walk today. I worked from 9 to 1 and ended up taking a 90 min nap this afternoon but still got a few things done at home.

Thanks for your good wishes re: my knee.

Wow, Sarah. It's great that your plan is working for you. I hope you don't get inundated with rain like so many in TX are.

Pat, I admire your dedication to walking by getting up so early before work. Of course, after work it would be just plain too hot, but I admire you especially because getting early is so not me! Still, sunrises and sunsets are beautiful. Glad you get to start your day with a sunrise.
Wishing you good luck with work this month. It's so good of you to help out, and I know the extra shekels are nice, too. :)

FitBit and stairs - it only counts when you go upstairs (I don't know why) and the measure is by the elevation, or so I've been told. And you can't go too slowly or it doesn't count it at all. Sounds like a lot of work to me. As for your 45 flights when you were "just" using your ladder, I have no explanation.
Cool that your son is going to Ireland. I've never been, even when living in England. My DH did for business, but I stayed home. :(

Oh I AM SO going to take this machine in to someone. I've already told DH that it's going to happen. Among other irritations/frustrations, I clicked on an email (to open it) this morning, then looked at my clock. By my clock, it took seven (7) minutes to open. That is so way beyond ridiculous. It loses stuff, takes forever and a day to move from screen to screen, etc, etc, etc.

My knee: Yes, the shots, even if effective, are only a stop-gap measure, and surgery will be in my future some day. emoticon I looked online at my insurance co's health listing for me. The dr. reported that I have an insane knee.....ok, he didn't put it exactly that way. It's an internal derangement of my right knee. I'm not supposed to do so many things any more, maybe permanently. No running, jumping, kneeling, twisting it, no weeding (yea!) etc. Guess I should just sit and knit. I'm already doing the knitting.

In fact, I'm skipping Josh's game tonight to go to stitching. Haven't been for a few weeks, and want to put in an appearance. Besides, I miss the ladies.

School's out, here, and Josh has a job - helping create patios, and mowing. Ugh, all day in the summer heat and sun. But he seemed quite positive when he told us about it last eve. 12 yr old Tyler will be home alone, except that his friend's Mom will be keeping an eye on him a lot, and Grpa and I will be watching him a couple of days a week. Reminded me that when my eldest was 12, she watched her younger siblings between school letting out and Mom and Dad getting home from work. But she was much more responsible than T-man sometimes is/isn't. emoticon

Time to give my blood pressure a chance to go back down. This computer is killing me!

Never, EVER give up. Just pick yourself up and keep going.

It's 65 with a high of 74 and possibly chances of scattered rain. We didn't get any yesterday but they did in a town just 45 minutes away. Home scale is up 1# must have been the salty snacks I ate yesterday. Plan for today is Back/Biceps and 20 minutes on either the Spin Bike or treadmill sprints (depends on which machine is free)

Nancy J - Sorry to hear about your computer. I'd take it in and have it looked at. I don't understand how the Fitbit counts stairs. I spent today cleaning the house and used my step ladder to get to the ceiling fans and high things. My Fitbit said I did 54 flights of steps! I only climbed two steps at a time and I know it wasn't 54 times! It's great that the older players are recognizing Josh's talents. Hopefully the coaches will so he gets to play more. It is strange being home alone all day and night, but I'm keeping busy. It will be awhile before my son can stay longer than a weekend. They are going to Ireland with my DIL's dad and that will use all of his vacation time. I'm sure he'll come as often as he can. I hope the shots help your knee and you don't have to have surgery. That doesn't sound like fun.

Pat - I'm sorry you're so busy. Adding the office work to all that you already do has to be overwhelming. I'm sure Sharon appreciates it though. It's nic to see the sunrise. I used to be able to see it from our sunroom. The sunroom faced a farmers field and the sunrises were beautiful.

NJ do hope the shot helps soon. Sounds like eventually you will need surgery so hoping this doesn't slow down you down this summer.
I am going nuts with working-meeting myself coming and going. Not used to getting up so early but I either do it or I won't walk! I get to watch the sun rise which is awesome. Busy in the office right now but hoping it will slow down some next week. I am working every day this week.

My computer was slow before Windows 10, not even a snail can outpace it. I'm so angry I could chew nails. I wonder if I have a virus in it??? Am considering taking to someone to "heal" the darn thing!

Sarah, you sound like you do a lot of workouts. emoticon More power to ya!

Pat, your community picnic sounds like a lot of fun, with plenty of good food. Tomatoes fresh from the farmer's market sound delicious. The ones you get in the store just don't have the same flavor.
That good news about both your friends. I'm glad the one is home, and the other is doing so well that he could come home on the weekend. June 7 will roll around soon. :)
I'm glad someone else talked of pausing at 3:00 yesterday to honor those who died for our good. We were at Josh's ballgame (where else!) and both teams lined up on the field and everyone in the stand also stood at attention, for the moment of silence. Did my heart good.
I'm wishing you good luck with all you'll have to work this month.
How's your arm? I hope it is healing and feeling much better by now.

Nancy, I'm glad your FitBit is helping you with minute. I just count steps with mine, and occasionally look at how many stairs it says I do. But when I go too slow upstairs, it doesn't count it, and with my knee bummed out, I'm usually not very fast. I need to take it first one foot, and bring the other foot up to meet it, etc. B-o-r-i-n-g
Yes. I think Josh is considered something of an outsider since most of the guys on the men's team have played together for years. But yesterday I overheard a couple of old coots talking about him. One said, "He made a good stop" of the ball. The other guy said, "Yes, he stops a lot of balls real good." I managed to not tell them that he's my grandson. emoticon
How strange it must seem to not be with your DH on this trip since you've been with him a lot recently. I'm confident that you'll slip back into to finding things to keep occupied.
How great that your son came down to visit you. I'm sorry it couldn't be longer this time, but perhaps next time.
I hope you will make friends soon. Feeling alone isn't nice; we need someone else to 'pal around' with.

Got my 2nd shot today, hopefully within a couple of weeks of the 3rd one (next week) they will make a difference. I really don't want to have surgery, more because of the 3 (or so) months of recovery/recuperation/healing afterwards, than because of going under the knife - although that thought doesn't thrill me either! The dr said today that within 6 weeks of surgery, I could drive again, and probably quite "formal" PT. Still, I'd rather not have to do that this year - I have too many plans. emoticon

Never, EVER give up. Just pick yourself up and keep going.

It's 65 with a high of 77 and slight chance of rain for today. Home scale is down 0.8# from yesterday and body fat is the same yet again. Plan for today is Legs/Abs and 15 minutes of cardio on the Stair Master at level 9 then do the machine's cool down and then stretch. Off again today so will have plenty of time to get my workout in then rest and relax.

Pat - I haven't made any friends yet. I met one lady who lives a couple of blocks away while I was out walking one day but I only saw her once. We've only seen neighbors on one side and they are younger and didn't seem all that friendly. I should probably go out walking more then I would meet more people. Good luck staying on top of ones while you're working. I know how busy you are even when you aren't working.

Sarah emoticon Seems you have found what works for you so keep up the good work.

Nancy I hope that it isn't too hard for you this week with DH gone. Have you made any friends in the area yet? You are right, we are social people and like to get together with friends. I am happy your son was able to come down and visit even if such a short one. We are used to our kids being busy with their own lives and don't see them often.

I went to bed by 10 so I could get up before 6 to get in my hour walk as I had to be at work by 8. I kept busy but was glad to see noon arrive. I will work every morning this week and hopefully can only do 3 or 4 thru the rest of the month but will just have to play it by ear.
I got our pills done up for the coming week and worked on my ironing this afternoon. I hope to stay ahead of the game while I am working.

Sarah - I focus better with music too. I like to take walks with my music going, especially when an upbeat song comes on.

Nancy--We had a great time as always.

I burned 404 calories this morning. I kinda expected all weekend for my monthly visitor to come and it did this morning so that's most likely where my gain came from. I had seen on Facebook in a group that someone found Mio Energy Iced Coffee and found some at Dillon's this morning. Tried it and like it so will drink 2 or 3 squeezes in water every morning. I put my headphones on since when I walked into the gym their music wasn't on and I didn't want to mess with the computer so I got my headphones out and turned on my music. I seem to focus better when I have my own music on.

Pat - So far today, my Fotbit is fairly accurate with my active minutes. I have the Charge and there's a button to push when you start and stop working out. That may make it more accurate than the Flex. I'm glad you enjoyed your dinner out to celebrate birthdays. Is your arm feeling better? I love how your community has the dinners together. We're not very social people but it would be nice to get together with people every now and then.

Sarah - How was your lunch wth the TOPS ladies? I hope you had a great time.

Nancy J - I love homemade bread and rolls. I'm glad I have time to bake them now. I understand your frustration with the men's team. We ran into a similar situation when my son was in high school. He went through what they call "hell week" of football practice and didn't even get to play one game. He was a good player too, but we were considered outsiders because we lived outside of town. I hope Josh gets to play more. I also hope your knee is feeling better soon.

We had a great weekend! Our son drove down from Illinois Friday night. He came about half way Friday and arrived on Saturday morning. We showed him a bit of town Saturday and went riding Sunday. We rode the trike and he rode one of the other Harley's. It was a beautiful day for a ride. I was so happy to see him, but the visit was too short. Today my husband is traveling. This is the first time since we moved that he left without me. He had to fly so I had to stay home. It will be different this time since I'm home all day. Work used to occupy a good bit of the time he was gone before. Wish me luck!

It's 63 with a high of 80 and possible chance of more rain. Yesterday it was pouring down rain when I left work so I came home and after eating dinner I did Leslie Sansone's Body Fat Burn 3 mile walk from YouTube. Today's plan is Chest/Shoulders/Triceps and 15 minutes of Cardio on the Elliptical with RPM above 50. I already posted that on the Facebook group that's keeping me accountable so I kinda have to do that Cardio today. Home scale was down 0.5# from yesterday and body fat is exactly the same so going to try and have a nice loss for next Monday's weigh in's. Day 1 of 4 maybe 5 of burning over 400 calories done today is day 2.

I decided to go healthy with my contributions to the Memorial Day dinner this evening-sliced tomato and a zucchini and summer squash casserole. I know DH will have something that is gluten free to eat along with the chicken this way.
Busy day here-walked very early (6:30) and then gave Abbie a bath while DH did the sheets and vacuumed the bedroom and while he sat out with her to air dry, I dusted and steam mopped in there.
I ended up having to go to the grocery store for a couple of items I needed for the casserole - it was nice, not very busy.

It's 66 with a high of 81 for today. Plan is Monday Cardio even without a chapter weigh in tonight. Home scale is up 1.4# this week but the body fat % is the same as last week. Could be any number of things am watching my sodium and sweets a little closer this week to have a nice loss for chapter next Monday night.
