Wish you could send us some of your cooler weather-another 90 today. Vickie & I finished decorating the park this morning. We got out before 8 hoping to beat the heat. Well by 10 when we finished we were both a sweaty mess. Glad to have that job done-now if the weeds would just pull themselves!!
I got my ironing caught up, gave DH a haircut, and trimmed Abbie's feet today.

Hi all;
It is cold and rainy here today. Probably in the 60's now, warm weather is done for now. I sen the pain managements nurse practitioner yesterday. She is pleased that I have less pain in my back but the ones who did the MRI on my back are worried about something they saw and want me to have another MRI to check it out. I go on the van on Thursday cause the Tuesday driver is still sick. My IBS has been acting up for a couple days now. I am losing a lot of my food I eat and Sunday and yesterday my calories were a lot lower. I see the gastroenterologist on Friday.

Pat I am glad it was not Shingles.

Sarah good job keeping that weight down. I will probably have to work out in the house since it is raining.

Nancy hope everything goes well for you at the doctors.

It's 51 with a high of 79 for today so still more fall like. It got chilly last night after the sun went down. I lost 3# at chapter last night and their scale was just 0.1# lighter than mine when I weighed in yesterday morning but pretty close. No workout today but plan is Chest/Shoulders/Triceps tomorrow, Legs/Abs followed by Abs/Legs/Cardio on Thursday and then Back/Biceps on Friday. No cardio days this week since work schedule didn't allow for it yesterday and not allowing for a workout today.

Got a good workout this morning. I cleaned out most of our storage shed (for the park) and moved a lot of things around to make more room. Then Vickie & I put out about 1/2 of our fall decorations in the park. I was a sweaty mess after 3 hours but it was a good feeling to get all of this done. We need to do more cleaning and hopefully this week we can get it cleaned out as we need more storage.
I did some pruning of my plants when I got home and then gave Abbie a bath. Tonight is trivia so I will be leaving for that soon.

It's 55 high of 72 more fall like weather this week. No Cardio today as I don't have time and tomorrow no workout either as it will be late when I get off. Scale is down 3.1# from last week and I'm 0.3# into my healthy weight range now to just hold that for tonight's weigh in at chapter then go down more.

I am convinced I did not have shingles but had a bad reaction to a bug bite and it got infected or badly inflamed. I still have a red circle above my eye with a dry scab on top but the swelling has gone down. As long as I do not get hot and sweaty it isn't itching so that is good.
I haven't done much since early this week but plan to try to accomplish some things in the coming week. I need to get the border off the bedroom walls and hopefully can get the park decorated for fall/Halloween. Those are things I don't normally have on my usual to-do's so want to get them taken care of.
I just pruned here at home or so it seems, but I need to do it again! I sprayed the weeds in the rocks around the house so hoping I have them under control for a few weeks. Before long I will have to trim my shrubs again.

It's 72 with a high of 75 and a 60% chance of rain this morning then it goes down to 10% chance by later this afternoon. Looks like I'll be taking tomorrow and Tuesday off from the gym as my work schedule won't allow me to workout but will move all of my lifting workouts back a day and skip my Cardio for this week. Home scale is down 0.6# from yesterday and down 2.4# from last week so think I should be OK for weigh in's tomorrow. It helps that I have nothing to snack on today but a Kind Bar so should be OK for weigh in's. I'm down only 0.9# for the month so far going into the final week of this training month.

Pat sorry about the shingles. I hope you get better soon.
Nancy three doctors wow you are beginning to sound like me! I see so many it is ridiculous.
Well if you have not gotten a chance to read my latest blog let me tell you what it is going on. The state wants me to do 20 hrs of work searching a week and I am not sure if that is possible. You heard me right. 20 hrs a week. Have they any brains?

It's 71 with a high of 86 and a chance for rain later tonight into tomorrow. Saw my work schedule yesterday afternoon but not sure what I'm going to do as far as my workout schedule yet will decide later today or tomorrow how many days I think I can get in. Might have to skip both Cardio days this week and focus on my lifting days.Home scale still the same as yesterday and still down from Monday so should be OK for weigh in's on Monday.

Oh, Pat. I'm so sorry you have shingles, and around your eye no less. Did your dr give you anti-viral meds? That helped me a year ago - the scabs dried up within a week. Of course, I still needed some good pain medicine awhile, but at least the scabs were gone. I do hope things are getting better already.
So Abbie is kinda like a youngster - stays in a snit when she's not happy. In this case, because Little Abby was a houseguest for several days. :)
After reading your post of the 19th, I'm worn out. I hope you are getting enough rest, as that will help get rid of the shingles.
I'd had the shingles shot a few years back, but got a 'good' dose of them anyway. The dr's PA told me it was likely caused by stress. Well, I sure got paid back for being stressed.
Your trip to the Sunken Gardens sounds nice; and I concur - I hope for you that you'll be able to use those same tickets in a week or two for the Ship museum.

Woo-Hoo! Sarah. Good for your college team. It's always a feel-good moment when our team wins, isn't it! Smart move putting your workouts in your phone. Much better than carrying around a folder.
Good luck with the snacking. That's a hard area for me, so I identify with others who have problems with snacking.

I got to three dr's this week (different reasons) and one of them gave me a third new medicine to help with what gets me up all night long. Cross your fingers for me. The pulmonologist is sending me for some blood work, and lung function testing. At least the latter won't be the test I dread because it always induces an asthma attack! Then they give me albuterol to counter that and I shake like a leaf for hours because of the albuterol. Whew! Dodged a bullet this time.

Our HVAC died the other day, and we're waiting on the guy who is supposed to give us an estimate to replace it. Since what we have is 22 yrs old, he said it isn't worth repairing (even if he COULD find that parts). While our days have been in the upper 80s, we open the house at night, put fans in some windows, and shut it up tight early in the a.m. Has helped. Now, we're to have a few days of being in the low-mid 70s and down into the 50s at night. Hmmm, hope we get the HVAC problem fixed before it gets cold enough to want heat. In a few days, it'll warm up again, they say. sigh.

Never, EVER give up. Just pick yourself up and keep going.

Today we were up before 6 and on our way by 6:45. We stopped for breakfast and then headed to St. Petersburg to Sunken Gardens. We wanted to be there when they opened as we knew it was going to be another hot day-hit 92. We had a nice time touring the beautiful gardens for a couple of hours. Wish it had been cooler but....we had to get it in as our tickets expire next week! We had planned to also visit the SS Victory Ship Museum in Tampa but got there and it is closed - ship is in dry-dock being repainted!!! Hoping they will honor our tickets in a few weeks as don't feel like trying to return next week as it is a 2 hr drive each way for us.

It's 67 with a high of 89 and sunny. Not supposed to cool down until this weekend when we have a chance of rain. Plan for today is Legs/Abs and Back/Biceps with 15 minutes on the elliptical following both workouts. Home scale is up 0.7# from yesterday but down 1.2# from Monday so should be OK just need to be careful of my snacking and sodium the rest of the week.

Not a great day-took DH to ortho doc and he got a cortisone shot in his shoulder then home so I could rest. Have kept a cold rag on my forehead most of the day. I truly think the dr misdiagnosed this-I think it is a bug bite of some sort.

Well, gave in this morning and went to Urgent Care and guess what-the spot above my right eye is shingles!!! Hoping the medicine will work its wonders as it is getting worse by the day! Doc told me to take it easy for a few days and not push myself! Asked me if I had been under a lot of stress recently-DUH, doing my closet was very stressful!!

It's 73 with a high of 90 but going to feel more like 100 today. Work 1:15-6 so going shortly to get my Chest/Shoulders/Triceps and 15 min on elliptical level 4 RPM above 50 before I go to work. At chapter last night I gained 0.8# but was down to 135.9 this morning so need to watch my snacking this week and work hard at the gym for a loss next week.

I got out to work in the park gardens about 7:30 and I had to quit before 9 as I got entirely too hot! I did get the area finished that I had planned on so that was good. I have given Abbie a bath and we did 2 loads of laundry today. I also got my ironing caught up. I am going to have to buy a new iron, mine is getting a black sticky residue on it every time I iron and it is a pain to scrub off with an SOS pad every time I iron.

It's 66 with a high of 89 but going to feel more like 96 today. Plan for the day is Monday Cardio followed by Abs/Legs/Cardio for time. Decided to put my workouts into templates a couple weeks into the month so I don't have to carry my folder with the print outs I can just have my phone with me. I have today's already into a template but will do the rest of the week tomorrow's through Thursday's later since I do Cardio 2 days a week and it's already done. Home scale was up 1.2# from last week before I really went potty and that's what I posted to the yahoo groups and sent to Christian so I'll go with that one. I weighed again half hour later and I was up just 1# from last week.

Jenny that is great that the dr has released you and you are fully healed. Will wish you luck on getting to your interview and figuring out how you will get to work if you get the job. In this day & age it is difficult to get a job if you don't drive unless you have other accommodations to get there. One of our maint. men doesn't drive but his parents or girlfriend bring him and he has not missed a day.

Nancy your week sounds fun. We have a big Bikefest every April and it brings in thousands of bikers. It is a really big deal-our downtown is closed to traffic except bikes and it is lined with vendors and they bring in bands and lots of food trucks, etc. I hope you really enjoy it and have great weather for biking.

NJ how great you were there to encourage Tyler. It sounds like he has a great attitude even if he isn't doing well. Keep encouraging him and I bet he continues to improve.
Do hope that you get some relief after seeing the dr in the coming week. So hard to keep plugging along when one is miserable. I do hope you are able to go to Utah but do not want to see you undo things either so make sure you can handle a trip of that distance before heading out.

We went to the 1st big community yard sale of the season today. I didn't find anything for myself but got a few items for the park. Vickie & Sonny got a few things for themselves. We do love a bargain. I will probably kick myself for not buying a 3x5 sculpted wool rug - it was the colors I will need for the bedroom but it was flowers and I want to get away from flowers!!

Little Abby went home this afternoon and our Abbie is still out of sorts with us. Hopefully by tomorrow she will be her usual good humor. She thinks a week is just too long for furry company to stay!!

Jenny, good news from the doctor. Glad to hear it.
I pray everything will work out according to God's will for you regarding a job, whether in Green Bay or elsewhere.

I'm glad your weather is moderating, Sarah. I think so many of us have had a blistering hot summer.

emoticon Nancy, BBQ is a big deal in the South, and depending on whether you're in the Carolinas or inland, you'll find some interesting flavors. I hope you, DH and his brother all have a really good time with biking and all. Memphis In May (and annual event) has many creatures BBQ'd. I wouldn't knowingly eat some of them, but I dearly love pork.
Thank you for your encouraging words. I'm hanging on, and expect some things to get better. A couple of things can't be "fixed" but should be controlled, and that's a win in my book. Just need to see those doctors this week to get the ball rolling.

Pat, I know you're so glad the closet is all set now, fresh paint and all. {giggle} it's funny when we break our habits and the animals don't know what to make of it. Darby sleeps on a pallet on the floor next to DH, but the other night it was too warm in the bedroom so DH went downstairs. Darby followed, after all, Daddy went somewhere. She had trouble settling in to sleeping downstairs. She has a huge, soft blanket on the floor, but that wouldn't do, and the couch wouldn't do, etc. She finally found a spot she could curl up on.
There's a slim change we'll get out to Utah in late February, but we'll have to see. I'll be in rehab until mid-Feb.

Last Wednesday we watched Tyler run in a Cross Country race. He finished dead last by a long shot, but what I found nice was that his coach and a few team members ran down the course to where Tyler was an encouraged him all the way to the finish line.

Today we watched him at a Cross Country Invitational. I'll bet there were at least 200 kids running, both Jr and senior high, boys and girls.....all separated into their respective groups.
Tyler came in last again, but by less than one second. He was thrilled because it was his best time yet. I'm so glad to see him competing against himself and not comparing himself to anyone else. DH went about 1/2 way down the sidelines of the course (along with dozens of other adults) and cheered and encouraged Tyler. I sat back at the finish line because I could not have walked that far. So when Tyler came in, I cheered him, and when we dropped him off at home, I told him I am so proud of him.

Josh and his Dad were in Jersey for another baseball 'thing' and Mom had something else she needed to do, so my DH and I were pleased to be there for Tyler. DH made sure Tyler knew we were there before the race started. We want to give him as much positive reinforcement as we can.

Have a blessed Sunday, y'all.

Never, EVER give up. Just pick yourself up and keep going.

NancyJ - I'm sorry that you're feeling down, it seems like life likes to give us problems in multiples, you know, when it rains it pours. I hope you are able to get some relief from the pain before your surgery. I bet you're glad to have your daughter home. Like Pat, we prefer to stay in the US.

Pat - We don't have any big plans this weekend. We are taking the leftovers from the garage sale to Habitat Restore so we can put the garage back in order. Ibex you're happy to have your closet put back so you can sleep in bed.

Next week my husband works on Monday and is then on vacation. His brother is coming down for Bikes, Blues and BBQS. I'm pretty excited, lots of riding, good food and music. We've never been before, so I don't know exactly what to expect, but it's a big deal here.

It's 59 with a high of 80 for today. Perfect football weather as the local college team plays tonight. Home scale is down 0.5# from yesterday and still up for the week so gonna watch snacking today. Unsure of my workout plan for next week yet but will know this afternoon after I see my work schedule for next week.

Hi everybody I am back and I have an interview in Green Bay next week and I have no idea how I will get there. I am hoping someone from my church is willing to take me to it. It is a fluke since I chose to apply to Green Bay jobs not expecting this. I don't drive so I have a feeling I won't get it.
I seen the surgeon in Monday and he told me that I am fully healed and no longer need to see him unless the interstim needs to be adjusting by the technician.

Nancy sounds like a nice day-lunch and dinner with DH. It is great you are able to do that. Any big plans for the weekend??

NJ so happy DD made it back safely. I am sure they had a good time. Who knows why one person wants to do something and it doesn't appeal to another. We prefer to stay in the good ole USA.
So sorry you won't get to make your annual trip to Webber. However if you didn't get the knee fixed you wouldn't enjoy it either. I know you are looking forward to getting thru the surgery.

I worked about 5 hours and now the closet is all back together. What a relief. Poor dogs could not figure out why we weren't going to be last night. No, we didn't rest well in the recliners but.....we got thru it!!

I had to smile, Sarah, in reading how you were running out of Amino Acids and Protein - it seems like every time I turn around, I'm out of one or another of my supplements. I'm lucky in that our local drug stores almost always run buy-one-get-one-free; or buy-one-get-a-second-for-$1 specials. That all helps.
I'm glad you were able to find the lip gloss and lip balm that you've been wanting.
I can imagine how disruptive it would be to have giggly little girls running thru the gym to/from the restroom.

Pat, hope it all worked out easily for you on the 14th to get some things done at home. I'm sure your company didn't notice if there was something out of place because you ran out of time to get everything done. After all, I'm certain they're coming to see you!
Now that's the way it's supposed to be.....the ladies winning the card games. emoticon
Woo-Hoo! for getting your closet finished. I hope you and Bill were comfortable sleeping in the recliners. And KUDOS to Bill for finishing shredding. I'm sure he's glad he got through the stack of papers.

Nancy, I hope your subdivision does figure out that closing the pool this early was a bad idea, and next year keep it open a bit longer.
I decided to not do albums for the girls, just giving them the pictures instead. I don't know what they'd like in albums and what they might even through away, besides, this means less work for me. LOL
I'm glad you have a butcher shop not far away. Your meat plan sounds like a good one.
It was a shame that lady didn't want the file cabinet, but it sounds like you made a friend to have coffee with sometimes. Great!
Your yesterday sounds like fun - meeting your DH for lunch and then dinner with his coworker. Mmmm, Italian. Love it.

I'm a bit "down" - one thing and another, not one-by-one, but on top of each other. It's only a few extra weeks, but I am disappointed at not getting my surgery done before the end of October. I'm elevating my leg, icing it and taking extra strength Tylenol to help when the pain gets to be much.
I'm looking forward (in a perverse sort of way) to this next week. I have appts with my psychiatrist, a pulmonologist (asthma), and another doctor for another problem. I've GOT to get a life! LOL
When DH asked me to reschedule my surgery until after Election Day, he told me we won't being going to Utah in late January this year, as I'll still be doing PT until some time in February. We're used to going every year, and have for about 7 years. Guess we'll just try to get the games on DH's computer. But it "buffers" a lot, and a 17 inch screen just is SMALL!

Yesterday we got up at 3:30 a.m. to drive to BWI and pick up the kids. They had a really good time in Cambodia, and a safe time, which made me glad. They weren't allow to go to a few places, and couldn't take pictures in others. When they told us the names, I recognized them from during the Viet Nam war. I still don't understand WHY DD wanted to go to Cambodia.

Never, EVER give up. Just pick yourself up and keep going.

Pat - No worries n the filing cabinet not selling. We'll just donate it to Habitat for Humanity. I hope you were able to rest well in your recliners. Good luck getting the closet put back together.

Sarah - I don't blame you for not wanting to have to deal with a bunch of little girls at the gym. I wouldn't want to do that either.

I got to meet my hubby for lunch yesterday and after work he texted me to meet him and his co-worker for dinner. We went to an Italian place just up the road. I really like going there. Today I have to get groceries and then plan to spend some time relaxing.

It's 70 with a high of 80 and chance of rain again today. Taking a much needed day off from the gym since by the time I get off it will be close to 5PM and I don't like going that late as the cheer gym is open at 3PM and in the same building so the cheerleaders are running through the gym to use the restroom and I'm not sure if I'll be in the mood to deal with these little girls tonight.

Nancy sorry it was no sale on the filing cabinet. Sounds like you are ahead of the game on your cleaning.

We got a lot accomplished today. We were up by 7 and I got the closet emptied out. Bill got the shredding finished today. We also put the two storage cubes together-such fun!! Harrison got our closet painted. I had thought a gallon would do it but it took more so I had to run and get that before he could finish. He didn't get done until almost 5 so we will have to sleep in the recliners tonight as I will put everything back tomorrow. Our bed is piled full!!!

NancyJ - I'm sorry you have to put off your surgery, but it sounds like it's for a good reason. I hope you're not in too much pain.

Pat - It sounds like you had a good day yesterday.

I finished the cleaning except the floors and I'll tackle those this morning. My husband texted,e at lunch yesterday saying he had expected to see me. I had planned to meet him but we are trying to sell a filing cabinet and so done came to look at it yesterday. She decided it was too big but then stayed and talked for quite a while. By the time she left it was too late to get cleaned up and meet him. So my plan today is to do my workout, clean the floors, and make a grocery list. I'll stop at the store on my way home.

Sarah glad you got your lip gloss and balm. Hope you like the balm.

Nancy I agree that meat is better fresh. Happy to hear the market is close enough that you can go often to get it.

NJ so sorry you have to put off your surgery but understand why. Do hope you don't have any issues.

We enjoyed playing cards this afternoon with our friends. The gals won 2 out of 3 games. I managed to finish cleaning house early and got the minutes typed and we even worked on cleaning out the closet. Have to get up early to finish it in the morning.

Got in a good workout today and decided to not do the second one I posted yesterday was tired after an early day. I burned 422 calories this afternoon then went to get some more lip gloss and lip balm from the beauty shop. I use a brand called LipSense and was almost out of gloss and had the lip balm ordered but was backordered for months so glad to finally get to try it.

Just a quick note: Election Day is Nov 8th. DH is the Judge of Elections for our District, and one of his jobs is to get the people he needs to fill all the jobs. The only person other than me who knows how to handle the voting machines (problems and requirements) has gotten a job, so DH asked me to put my surgery off until after election. I am supposedly getting a man who worked with me during the primary, so maybe I can build on his knowledge of the machines.

Besides, in a year or so, we plan to move and will probably be out of our district, so we'll be gone anyway. At the moment, my surgery is scheduled for Nove 16th instead of Oct 24. emoticon

Never, EVER give up. Just pick yourself up and keep going.

Pat - Enjoy your company!

I got half of the house cleaned yesterday and will finish the other rooms today. Tomorrow I'll do the floors. I went to the butcher shop yesterday and picked up some meat. We o lay have two grocery stores here and neither one has decent meat. We've decided to go every few days to get meat so we don't have to freeze it. I'll still freeze hamburger and chicken, but steaks, chops and roasts are so much better fresh. The shop is close enough that it won't take long to get there and back.

NJ glad to hear you are making progress on the pictures. I copped out and gave them all to one son (well not all, still have a tub full!). Gave him 3 tubs!!! Great you get in to see the ortho doc sooner, but know you are wanting to wait till you go to your conference for the surgery. Rehab can be tough but it will be worth it in the end.

Nancy so happy the garage sale was a big success and you were able to get rid of your big items. A great feeling isn't it.

I had to take DH to get his hearing aides tweaked today then did some errands so didn't get a lot done here at home. Will have to hustle tomorrow morning-have company coming in the am and in the pm!!!

Got in my workout this evening after work and burned 422 calories. Plan for tomorrow is Legs/Abs and 15 min on Elliptical followed by Abs/Legs/Cardio. Gained 0.2# at chapter last night but I'm not sweating it. I work 5AM-1:15PM tomorrow then will get my workout in after a stop at Wal-Mart for Amino Acids and Protein as I'm about out of both and think I have enough for tomorrow then will need more.

NancyJ - We've been watching the 911 shows, and I cried too. It's funny how even 15 years later seeing those shows can make me feel the same as I did back then. Our pool has been closed and winterized so it won't be open until Memorial Day weekend. This is the first year the subdivision has had a pool, so maybe they'll do things different next year and stay open longer. I'm glad to know your daughter is fine and having a good time. It does sound like you're making progress on the photos. I made an album for each of our kids for Christmas a few years back. I think they enjoyed getting it.

I am moving slow today. I need to get busy and workout and do a bit of cleaning. I'm still sitting on the couch drinking coffee and don't want to do much else!

Sarah, I hope the rain you get is beneficial rather than flooding and a problem. If you have excess, you can send some our way. Our county and the surrounding ones are officially "Dry" but just north of us counties are in official drought.
I sure like the flag with the twin towers on it. Thank you for posting it. I think it was the History channel that had a special on 9/11/01 last night, and frankly, I cried because I knew what happened next.
I hope your weigh-in was just as you wanted it tonight. You work so hard to get there.

Oh Jenny, I'm so sorry you got hurt. Sometimes learning a lesson is literally painful. I hope you heal real soon.

Six more weeks, Pat! Yeah, I guess that sounds right, but ugh! It's been a brutal summer, temperature-wise.
Abbie is such a smart little girl. So often our pets are, and being so, they bring smiles to our faces. Sorry she's not happy about sharing her humans and home.
Whew! I'm so glad you found your passport. They are so expensive to replace.
I know you feel so much better now that you've finished with the safe, and just think of it this way, Bill having to shred papers will keep him out of trouble. Haha
I wish our country, and our state, had the "problem" of so much money. I can tell y'all are very smart in handling the park's money and now you have excess for other improvements, like hiring help for you and Vickie in the gardens.
I've always thought electric lines being buried is a great idea. Then I don't have to worry about them falling on a car or in the street. Of course, the ones outside our subdivision aren't buried, but hey...can't have it all.
I can't imagine being without A/C with the temps getting up where they are. You are so kind to let them stay with you those hours until they got their electric back.

Nancy, thank you for your love, understanding and kind thoughts towards me. That means a lot.
What a shame they closed your pool. Is it even going to be open on the weekends when the kids are out of school?
Fantastic garage sale. I'm glad you were able to rid of the big stuff. It's much easier to find a spot or two for smaller things. It surely will be nice to have the bedroom for it's intended purpose. I'll cross my fingers that both of your kids do come for Christmas.

We had another Fall baseball weekend - this one in the western end of PA. Saturday got hot, but at least we could use our canopy to keep the sun off us.....when it (sun) was out. There were a lot of clouds. Sunday was sunny, but started off down right chilly. At least we knew to take light weight jackets with us.
I was VERY disappointed that whoever ran the baseball event (wasn't actually a tournament) did NOTHING about the fact that it was 9/11. The college where they played the first game had the flags at half staff, but the venue where they played the second game of Sunday didn't even do that.

We took Darby almost over to Philadelphia (close to 2 hr drive) for her annual check up with the dermatologist. He was so happy to see her in such great shape. September is usually her worse month for allergies, and Rag Weed (one of her bad ones) has been very high lately. The choice was seeing the dr in the Philly area or one down in Maryland...about the same distance.

I sent a text to my DD in SE Asia last night, and got one in return today. She said they're fine (I was worried about 9/11) and that they're going to find it hard to come home they're enjoying themselves so much. :)

I got a call today, and the ortho dr's office wanted to change my next appt from the 27th to tomorrow. Fortunately that's no problem for me. I'm getting anxious (as in 'eager') for my surgery. I don't look forward to the 3 mos of rehab, but I'm SO looking forward to losing the pain. :) I understand they won't let me leave the hospital until I can do stairs. Wow!

I've been working on sorting many, many, many decades of photos, and I am making progress, but there's still so much to sort, and then I'll need to start putting into albums. I'm planning to do an album for each of my girls, and probably several for DH and I. I'm tickled pink that my Mom gave me certain pictures. I have one each of my great-great-grandparents. They are in really good shape, too. I'm a sucker for old family things. I have some linens from my two grandmothers. I'm grateful that one of my girls is also interested in these things. Nice to know they'll remain in the family.

Guess I should close for now. Will write later.

NancyJ - I am so sorry that you're struggling right now. Never apologize for being down, that's what friends are for. I would havebeenso stressed if my daughter were going out of the country too. And with your sleep issues that probably makes everything worse. I know when I'm tired that everything is magnified. A fading your sore knee I to the is can't help. I'm sending lots of love your way. I'm glad your daughter made it safely.

Pat - I'm glad your making such good progress on the park and the safe! I'm jealous that you can still swim. They closed our pool last week. I understand that the kids are back in school, but the pool sure would have felt good after working in the garage last week. Poor Abbie thought Daddy was going to save her! I bet she does feels better after her haircut! Glad to know your park is in such good financial shape! Maybe that means more help for you in taking care of it.

The garage sale was a success! I am so happy! We got rid of all the big stuff and only have a few things to put back into storage and a little bit to donate! We are going to get a storage shed to put in the yard also as the concrete pad gets poured. Then we will move things from our second spare room to the shed. It will be nice to have two spare bedrooms in case both kids come for Christmas.

It feels nice to be back to my normal routine. I spent all last week either cleaning or getting ready for the sale. This week I can do a little cleaning each day and have time to relax.

It's 59 with a high of 86 for today. Plan is Monday Cardio then a few exercises on the TRX haven't gotten those figured out yet but will look on Pintrest to find something. Home scale is down 1.3# from last week now let's see what the scale says tonight as I worked hard towards a loss with our new TOPS Area Captain coming to do the program at tonight's meeting. I would just weigh and leave but with her coming I think I better at least stay for the meeting.

Spent part of the morning doing yardwork and the rest of the day cleaning house. Friends lost their electric so they came about 4 and spent about 3 hours with us till their electric came back on. It was too hot to do without it.

It's 66 with a high of 76 for today and gonna be in the 70's and 80's all week. Got a peak at the schedule and unless it changes between when I saw it and when it's published I'm off tomorrow and Monday so will get my Cardio in on Monday before weigh in. I am determined to have a loss with the AC visiting and won't be joining the girls for Subway since I'm getting burned out on Subway every week.

Jenny sorry to hear you took a fall. Not a good idea to wear shoes that do not fit. Thongs can be very dangerous. Hope this doesn't set you back on your recovery.

NJ so happy your DD has arrived safely and will pray that they encounter no issues while they are there. Glad to hear you have someplace to meet where there is a/c. Certainly no fun to try to meet without it. This has been an extremely hot summer. We got a bit of a break for a few days but the heat and humidity is returning here. Weatherman says we have about 6 more weeks till we start seeing night temps in the 50's. I can hardly wait.

Abbie went to the groomer this morning and really didn't want to go in. Bill rode along and was handing her to me and she jumped off the seat and down on the floor and thru a narrow slit in our console to get back to her daddy! She knew exactly where she was!!! She looks so cute now-she was looking more like a teddy bear or fluffy puppy as we called her!!!

I had the annual finance meeting at 10 and we got finished just before noon. We do most of the work ahead of time so that makes it a lot easier. We actually have a good problem. Our park is in good financial shape and now we have to decide what major projects we want to do. We finished burying the electric lines this summer. That was a very expensive project that we did over a period of about 7 years but it is fully paid for which is a good thing. Now we are looking to put in new concrete on our patio at our clubhouse and possibly covering it and screening it.

I finished cleaning out the safe this afternoon. What a relief. Bill is working on all the shredding but it is going to take some time! I actually lost my passport and was panicking but finally found it-somehow it had slid into one of my folders! Phew, what a relief.

DD & her DH arrived safely in SE Asia, so said her text that awakened me at 1:30 this morning. emoticon Now to get safely past 9/11/16

Pat, thank you for wishing me well with my knee.
I'm sure you feel good for getting the park things done. I'll bet your work looks really great.
Pool Bill. At least when he gets this shredding done he won't have much to do at a time as he keeps up with it. Isn't it amazing how much we accumulate!
2 hrs in the pool. Sounds like something the doctor would prescribe. :D Pencil it in like any other appointment.

I went to stitching last night in the home of another lady, The church basement we usually use lacks A/C and when the temp is in the mid-90s, it just doesn't pay to try. Can't understand why we're having so many 90+ days in September! Oh well, we'll be freezing again in a few months,

Talk with y'all later.

Nancy glad you didn't get hurt when it all fell down. Items can be replace but if you had broken a leg or something it would all have been in vain. Hope you have a great sale.

Nancy so sorry your are down at the moment. Having the medical issues can get one to feeling down so hoping the medicine kicks in soon and your knee will hold out so you can go to the conference.

I worked in the park gardens this morning for almost 2 hours. Making progress and things are looking good again. Want to spruce things up before we do the fall decorating. We picked up the cube storage (had to make 2 trips-disagreed on the size so had to run back home and remeasure!) I now need to find a 4 cube one as we bought two 6 cubes. I am getting excited-want to get this done!! I also got another shelf done in the safe-poor Bill more shredding is piling up!!!

I took a break and spent 2 hours at the pool this afternoon. Need to do more of that.

Pat, wishing you good luck with getting the safe cleared out, and the closet ready for painting. Shredding takes longer than you'd think. My DH is shredding boxes and boxes (45 or so years) of stuff - much of which should never have been saved in the first place.
Good for you for finishing most of your to-do list on the 6th. I like lists - you can cross stuff off and it's a visual sign of what you've accomplished.
69 degrees sounds like heaven. We're still in the 90's during the day (96 right now) and plenty humid. Ugh! We're due more 90's in the next few days.

Nancy, I'm taking a pill for my no-rest physical problem, but it'll probably take another week before I see results I want. sigh. Hanging in there.
Great that you've already decided how much to ask for things. I think that's a big chore in getting ready for a garage sale.
Glad you were able to make things work after the sawhorse broke. Also glad nothing else broke.

Sarah, I'm glad you finally got the new workout video. I hope the heart rate monitor only needed new batteries.
I'm crossing my fingers that you'll have a loss for when the new area captain gets there. That'll make you feel good, I can tell from your posting.

So much drama in my life right now. One of my DD and her DH insisted on going to a country in SE Asia to celebrate their anniversary. My DH and I tried to talk them out of it, based in part on how things were during the Viet Nam war - yes, we acknowlege that things could be different now, but the "kids" will be there over 9/11 and terrorists like to 'celebrate' 9/11 anniversaries in their own hateful way. I'm really trying to not worry, but....

My knee has been hurting more lately, and I hate to think that I'll have to give up seeing my daughter and taking her to the wonderful conference next month. I'm taking extra strength Tylenol (can't take NSAIDs) and icing it when it gets bad.

I don't mean to be a downer today, but there are things heavy on my heart, and I just can't seem to get upbeat. Maybe tomorrow will be better.

Never, EVER give up. Just pick yourself up and keep going.

It's 77 with a high of 87 and a chance of rain but going to feel like 98 today. Home scale was down 1.4# from yesterday so now I just have to hold that until Monday's weigh in's. Back/Biceps and 15 min on Elliptical level 4 RPM above 50. I am working hard for a loss as I refuse to have a gain even a small one when our new Area Captain comes to visit on Monday evening.

Pat - We had tons of paperwork to shred and dispose of when we moved. We've stopped keeping so much now, but this was stuff we had kept previously and didn't thnk about until we were packing. Good luck getting it all cleaned out,

I power washed all of the shovels etc, for the garage sale today. As I was wrapping the cord, it got caught on the sawhorse that we had placed half of a ping pong table on to make a table. (The ping pong table was made to lay on top of our pool table so it didn't have legs,). The sawhorse was plastic and broke in half and the board fell along with everything on top. I had to improvise to make new "legs" and place the table back by myself. At least nothing was broke and I was able to build another table. Hubby will be home tomorrow night so I will spend some time tomorrow finishing my cleaning and getting groceries. Miss been a busy week for me, but productive.

Nancy hope the garage sale goes well and you clear unwanted items out while making some $$. They certainly are a lot of work!
I walked again today, then more yard work before tackling the safe. It has 3 shelves and I got 1 done. It takes awhile to go thru all the papers we had saved. It was so full I couldn't put anything else in there so I knew it was time. Poor Bill just got all the shredding done and now he can start again!! Hope by Friday to have that job done.

It's 74 with a high of 93 but gonna feel more l like 98 today. Plan for today is Legs/Abs and 15 min on the elliptical level 4 RPM above 50 followed by Abs/Legs/Cardio for time. Think I need to change the batteries in my Heart Rate Monitor watch and transmitter so going to Walgreen's before heading to the gym for new batteries. Got my new workouts yesterday just changed Legs and Cardio for now then will wait to see how the next 2 weigh in's go to change the arm workouts too if needed. Haven't taken the progress photo I'd planned on so will do that this morning as soon as I get there I'll go into the crossfit box and take the photo using that large mirror.

Pat - Happy belated birthday! I hope you enjoyed it. I had signed up at a lot of the restaurants back home for their birthday club and had several free deals. We didn't go often because of the amount of travel hubby does. We used t,keep papers too, but have cut down a lot. We do all of our banking online so we don't have bank statements and all of our bills come electronically. The only things we keep are things we may need for taxes, and our tax returns. I'm glad you're enjoying cooler temps. We had cooled off for a while, but the heat and humidity is back.

NancyJ - I'm sorry you're having sleep troubles. I hope it's been resolved by now. I'm also sorry that Josh didn't get to play much when the scouts were there. Hopefully they liked the little they saw. I understand your frustration at the grocery store. It would have been hard not to say something. Glad you get to use the gym for free. Thanks for the good wishes on the garage sale. I spent most of today getting things cleaned, set up and priced.i have a few more things to price, but have already determined what to ask so it shouldn't take long. I had forgotten how much work garage sales are.

Nancy sounds like quite a busy weekend and sorry you weren't able to see more of your kids. That is how it goes for us when we go north. We drive 1100 mi and lucky to see them a few hours on the weekend! We can't hang around forever either-they are spread out so we try to have one of the kids host a BBQ and we pay for the food and hopefully everyone can make it but usually that isn't the case!
NJ sounds like you had a nice weekend. Glad you were able to visit with one DD & her family. I am sure you are looking forward to having the surgery and getting on the way back to feeling better.
I had a to-do list made up for myself for today and got most of it taken care of. I still didn't get in to work on cleaning out our safe so that is a priority tomorrow. Have to have the closet ready to be painted next week.
I walked 3 mi this morning-was only 69 - what a great feeling to be cool and humidity had fallen. I also worked on a couple of gardens in the park and on our yard this morning. Then it was do the pills up for the week and catch up on my ironing.
I went for a haircut this afternoon, picked up some more calcium for DH at Walgreens, stopped and bought the paint for our closet and the bedroom, and last stop was the bank. By the time I finally sat down it was almost 4!

Sarah, good luck with getting 5 workouts in 4 days. That sounds intimidating to me, but I'm not nearly as dedicated as you with the workouts. KUDOS for your efforts.
I hope you've gotten your new stuff today. Sure, you have last month's, but I know you enjoy the new ones.

Pat, keeping stuff warm during church is a challenge. Some things can be warmed in a crock pot, but often not the case.
The pineapple cake sounds so pretty, and clever with putting the halves upright with bright cherries in between.
The cookout social yesterday sounds like a success. You were so thoughtful to freeze some of the cake so Bill can have it at his leisure. Smart lady to send food home with others so it isn't sitting there calling your name. :)

Jenny, I'm sorry you have so much pain, but glad you're finding some ways to help with it. I love using an ice pack when my knee gets too bad. I'm really looking forward to the surgery in seven weeks.

Nancy, I'm sorry you had such a short visit with your kids. I'm glad you did get to see them, but why does time like that always go so fast!
I'm wishing you all good things for your yard sale Thursday. Hope you make lots of money and move many, many things.

Nothing new with me, really. I read, exercise, nap because I don't rest well at night (medical reason), and yesterday one of our local daughters and her DH came up for a cookout. My DH grilled chicken as a main dish and we topped the meal off with watermelon....lots of liquid, you know.
Our other local daughter and family spend every Labor Day at a nearby lake with friends. They sleep in tents and spend time on the lake in the friends' boat. DD said last night that they had a really good time, and weather was great. She also said that Josh found it challenging to get up on skis. I'd loved to have seen that. :)

Never, EVER give up. Just pick yourself up and keep going.

Sorry I have been away so long. After out week of being gone for my husband's job, we had part of Friday home. I spent Thursday night doing laundry and Friday morning straightening the house and getting ready to leave again. We drove part of the way to Illinois on Friday and finished he trip in Saturday. I was a little disappointed because we only got to see the kids for a little bit at dinner on Saturday. Sunday was the shower. We spent mo day with BIL and came home Tuesday. We picked up the trailer full of things for the sale on Thursday and spent another day going through things and pricing them. I still have a lot to do. Some of the stuff still needs cleaned and it all needs organized. We usually don't do garage sales because of the amount of work, but we have too much to get rid of and don't want to just give it away. My husband is parting with a lot of his tools. Hopefully things sell well.

Jenny hope that the ibuprofen helps. Not good to be in pain all the time.

We had a nice Labor Day luncheon with way too much good food. My deviled eggs were soon gone and a lot of the GF pineapple upside down cake. I froze 6 pieces that were left for DH to eat when he wants a sweet treat. We had about half of the grape salad left so shared that with some friends and yesterday I had sent 3 containers to friends so it isn't hanging around here.

Sarah hope you had a good time at the birthday party. Sounds like a full week ahead for you.

NJ I hate when people do that. Some of the cashiers here are being instructed to not let people in their express lines (people always try to come in with way more items than they should). I think management have heard the rest of us grumbling. They send them over to the other lines!! Then there are the ones like you dealt with-that is just plain rude. Glad you were able to hold your tongue-not easy but later you feel so much better because you didn't express your frustration.
We were up early as I didn't make the egg cups that I had planned for church-I just made a quick run to Dunkin Donut and got donuts to take like everyone else does!! I was afraid I could not keep the eggs hot.
After church we ate lunch at Chilis and then came home to play cards with Vickie & Sonny. We split the games so everyone was a winner. When we got home I got busy making my food for tomorrow. The cookout at our clubhouse is at 1. I made the GF cake for DH-hope it is good since I haven't ever made one before-it looks nice as I made it in a bundt pan-you cut the pineapple slices in half and stand them up in the pan and then put cherries between the slices. I also made grape salad and deviled eggs so I know he has 3 things he can eat.

It's 62 with a high of 87 for today. Plan for this week is to get in 5 workouts in 4 days since I work a mid shift on Thursday and it will be too late to eat if I went and worked out. No chapter weigh in tomorrow but will post my morning weigh in. I'm up 0.2# from last week and body fat is the same as last week. Working towards a small loss for the week for weigh in tomorrow morning.

Sarah, your weather yesterday sounds about like ours. Isn't it great to not be sweating except when we exercise!
Planning what you will eat at the birthday party is such a good idea, so you don't overeat, and still can enjoy some of the food. Hope you had a good time.

Pat, I'm so sorry to hear your DIL isn't doing great. Even if she weren't the caregiver for her MIL and DH, I'd wish her well.
Oooo boy! I hope those two inches of rain ran off quickly. Did the wind do any damage? Poor Abbie. There's just no way to make our pets understand some things. Thunder sounds scary, but can't hurt us. I wish for her sake that she could understand that.
I'm so glad you were able to safely attend to your errands. I hate driving in heavy rain - there's always some idiot who doesn't turn their lights on, and you can hardly see them.
How nice that you keep finding things that DH can eat. I'm sure he'll enjoy the pineapple upside down cake.

Yesterday, when I got into the grocery check out line, my cart started beeping because it needed to be plugged in. I was stuck there. The people ahead of us ran and got stuff after the checking out started, and then they sent the cashier after baby formula, and we watched as they checked FIVE different orders. Yes, they got five separate cash register receipts and dawdled so that I couldn't get started on my order. I was SO tempted to say ugly things but bit my tongue. The poor cashier kept apologizing for the delay. I kept telling her it wasn't her fault, and to not worry about it.

I've worked awhile on the afghan for the other lady. It's not hard, it just takes a lot of time. Very pretty colors.

I'm keeping up with the thigh exercises. I've heard from a couple of people that the stronger the thigh muscles are, the better it will be for me when I get a new knee. That alone keeps me at it. Ha!

Today, DH and I drove to the Defense Depot (where we both used to work) and confirmed that I can use their gym for free (post-surgery). That'll save me $90 a month for a short-term gym membership. We looked over the Depot's gym facility, and I really like it. May use it more after I'm through with rehab.

I wore one of my Weber State University t-shirts today, and the man going into the gym ahead of us commented on it. The man used to live in Salt Lake City. Weber ("Wee-ber") is in Ogden, Utah. Small world.

I hope y'all have a great weekend.

Never, EVER give up. Just pick yourself up and keep going.

It's 75 with a high of 82 for today. I worked til 11AM and am getting stuff done before going to a birthday party this afternoon. Will have a cupcake and a small cup of ice cream after eating the hamburger and fixin's. Will skip the chips however since I normally only eat them with a sandwich and not a hamburger. Unsure of my work schedule yet so not sure when I will get my workouts in this week.

NJ glad to hear you used the cart. My DIL has to use one as she tires out very easily and sometimes wonders if she will make it to the car after shopping and bless her heart she is the caregiver for her MIL and DH so it all falls on her and she isn't doing great!

We got our rain and wind during the night-about 2 inches. It thundered some and of course that upset Abbie so she got us up so it wasn't a good night for sleeping. The rain has continued off and on all day.
I had to go get my toe zapped today and had to drive about 10 mi in a horrible downpour but then luckily it got better for the last little part of the drive. We were glad to make it back home safely.
I have to make something for church (Sunday school) so need to get that figured out and then we have our Labor Day picnic and I plan to take deviled eggs and a GF pineapple upside down cake as DH is missing having many treats and I think I have figured out how to do it!

It's 76 with a high of 79 and a low of 59 today. It's supposed to cool down nicely for the High School Football games tonight. Worked til 12:30 then got my Cardio in after stopping at the grocery store to pick up some protein snacks. I got some P3 in different flavors then I got some Balanced Basics from Sargento. Home scale is down 0.6# from yesterday and up 0.7# from Monday so will be diligent about my snacking this weekend. My body fat % though is the same as Monday. Got my Friday Cardio in and burned 460 calories now waiting to see what my work schedule for next week will look like so I can plan my workout days.

Sarah, being out of town (a college town!) when there are games going on sounds like a really good plan to me. emoticon Unless of course, you're at the game. LOL Hope you enjoyed listening to the game.

Pat, I'm glad you hadn't any rain yesterday as of last evening. What our weather guys show on tv looks like Florida is being washed away. I'm sure there are areas that are getting horrible amount of rain, and they have my prayers, along with praying that you don't get too much of it. I've been through several hurricanes and almost-hurricanes, so have some idea of the devastation. My heart goes out to those in the path of the storm.
I hate daily exercise, but it's the knowledge that the leg strengthening will help with surgery that keeps me at it.

I suddenly remembered last night I'd promised a lady that I'd finish crocheting an afghan someone had started and given her. She doesn't crochet. I have all the necessary yarn, the pattern looks fairly simply, and there's even the crochet hook I need. Now to sit myself down and work on it. In exchange (not really the reason why) I was able to give her four skeins of Homespun yarn because she's in a group in her church that makes prayer shawls out of Homespun. I had the yarn for several months and finally admitted I wasn't going to use it.

Today is grocery shopping day, and I decided to drive one of 'those' carts in the store. Last time we shopped I didn't and was almost in tears by the time we got home. I used one some years ago when I had knee surgery, and have used one sometimes with this problem.

Never, EVER give up. Just pick yourself up and keep going.

We have been lucky and so far no rain today-just overcast. Hoping we get thru tonight without any problems.

It's 68 with a high of 81 and mostly cloudy. Plan for today is Legs/Abs and 15 min on Spin Bike then Back/Biceps and 15 min on Elliptical. Work til noon then will get my workouts in before coming home. It's also the first game for our local college team and I work in the town where school is so will be out of town before the game starts but will listen on the radio.

NJ you are a good momma-I just gave the boxes of pics to one of my sons and told him they were his to deal with!!
Those exercises will help-a friend of ours did that before her knee surgery and it went so much better for her than another who didn't and wasn't in great shape. The more muscle you have the easier things will be.
We had rain pretty much all day-not heavy-just enough you didn't want to work outside but I managed to pull a few weeds. The good thing was we stayed overcast so our high was just 87.
