Buried in paper, but only up to my neck, so it's OK. I can still mostly breathe.
Tackling a financial issue today that I've been putting off. Two, actually, if I can get my desk cleared off. I have been so bad about staying on top of some these unpleasant tasks lately. There are just too many of them and I tend to have to sort of "run up" to them to get myself to take care of them. Blech.
The great enemy of truth is very often not the lie--deliberate, contrived and dishonest--but the myth--persistent, persuasive and unrealistic. Too often we hold fast to the cliches of our forebears. We subject all facts to a prefabricated set of interpretations. We enjoy the comfort of opinion without the discomfort of thought.
Back at my desk this happy Monday morning! So far it's quiet here - the boss is off to a meeting somewhere and I can commence shoveling the normal stuff off my desk uninterrupted!
Got to work for a client late this afternoon/evening, but I did all my cooking (baked chicken thighs and pork chops that I pan fried but should have grilled but it was raining out there...) yesterday so I just have to reheat tonight. :)
