Just an FYI... the "mentor" that I met on sparkpeople is WLRENEE. I wanted to get her ok before I blurt her name around on here. She is very motivating. Has her own struggles but has made it to goal and is maintaiing. Yay for her. That inspires me. If she inspires you why not click on the niminating button to let sparkpeople know that she does that. I did.

Naypooie - You could be right about that. I have noticed in the past when on a diet that when I cheated, the next day I would lose a pound. But then I got back on the diet right away. I could have one of those stubborn metabolisms that has to be played tricks with.

Yay, Faith! I'm still refusing to weigh myself because I don't like what it does to my head. :)

I had a wonderful weekend and feel much more like myself than I have for months. That means my energy is coming back! Now that it's darker outside in the mornings I'm going to start walking the dogs after work. This morning I got up and did a few minutes on my ski machine and some crunches. It's nice and cool and foggy outside now but it's supposed to hit 80 later and then the low 90s by mid-week. Eek. And we get a lovely load of humidity with it... Bet my boys aren't too excited about the walk after work tonight, but it will be good for all three of us!

Hi all! I had a really good weekend and styed on track. I am trying to do higher fat and lower calories. I will lose this weight and get to goal which is at least another 100 down. I met someone here on sparkpeople because of that Low Carvb thread last week on the general message boards. She weighed 10 lbs more than I did at hightest ..325 and now weighs 115. No surgery just all low carb eating. She is a champion and what I call a low carb "evangelist" as I also consider myself. Anyway she is such and inspiration to me. I am now friends with her on facebook and she seems to love to help people. She answers any question I have and has really inspired me. I think she actually belongs to this team but isn't on here much. You all have inspired me as well. I think I am just excited to see that if she can do that then so can I. And so can all of us! By the way I am down almost 2 pounds this morning from Friday.

Sunday flew by . . .I thought I taught . . . I showed up & the other instructor was setting up. I went to hardware store, came home & worked on weathering my outside basement door. I also cleaned the back basement. It was a lot of work & I sweat as much as a workout. My roomie that lives in the rec room finalee cleaned his room & exchanged some big pieces of furniture to smaller pieces. There's better air flow.

My date picked me up & we went to Ho Chunk casino in the Wi Dells. He loves to gamble . . I love football. We ate at the buffet & enjoyed meat, cheese & salads. He's learning to go past all of those desserts that are made with fake stuff that cause fat cells.

We finished watching the Packer game. We didn't eat anything that wasn't on plan. My youngest son FaceTimed me so I could chat & watch my 2 & 5 year old grandsons play. I had a great day.

Also, it took a week to get that sweet craving out of my body. Last Sunday I ate some low carb peanut butter cookies. They are made with peanut butter, truvia & egg. I struggled all week. That truvia is NOT my friend. I can eat peanut butter but I can't have sugar, truvia, etc. Whewwwwww. I slept like a baby last night.

This morning I was called to teach a class that started in 20 minutes. The instructor called in sick. YIKES! FUN! YIPPEE! It sure got my furnace burning! I get to teach 2 classes tonight also. I'm a very lucky Woman! Connie

I had my vanilla whey protein based pancakes (rather than flour) with E.D Smith Sucralose sweetened maple sirup.

2 grams of carbs from the pancakes, and another 2 grams of carbs from the 15 grams of sirup. Another 36 grams of carbs left for the rest of the day ( give or take a gram).

Funny, I find that a cheat doesn't show up on the scale the following day either, it's the day after that when the scale goes up. At least now I know where it goes in the meantime - Cleveland, LOL.

I have a Kindle, too, but I much prefer a "real" computer. Had a tablet (Samsung Galaxy something-or-other) recently and ended up sending it to one of my sons in Oregon.

Food okay, all on track -- finishing up ebay and other sales packing to head to the post office shortly. Sarah is getting us well organised, though it will not be a quick process.

At least there's progress!

JLKL you remind me of a episode of The Golden Girls when Dorothy was talking to Rose about how it would take a couple of days for the cheesecake pounds to show on the scales. Rose asked in utter bewilderment. "Where do they go in the meanwhile?" and Dorothy answered "To Cleveland Rose!"
Seriously though, I find that the cause and effect with diet is not as immediate as we expect it to be and that it does take a couple of days for the ice cream and potato chips to show up on the scale.
But that doesn't matter so long as we don't linger long in carb intake, I is more about what you do MOST of the time. No one can follow the straight and narrow all the time.

Maw - are you getting your computer fixed or are you going to have to buy a new one?

Well, yesterday I just layed around, watched TV and topped it off with a scoop of ice cream and Art & Mary potato chips. Got up this morning and LOST 2 pounds! I swear that I am going to donate my body to science. It just does not make sense to me. And yet, I am very happy with the results on the scales this morning. But now it's back to reality and tracking my food intake and using the treadmill. I'm sure the weight loss was just a fluke.
