I like Atkins shakes. I buy the vanilla and make it whatever flavor appeals with my DaVinci SF syrups. They're delish!

I use Designer Whey™ protein powder. It only has about 6 g carbs per scoop, if you make it with water. I usually make mine with almond or coconut milk, or a combination of those; sometimes half-and-half with water, too. If I use the plain vanilla, I make it with water and flavor it with DaVinci.

And posting cravings is _exactly_ what we're about! if you can't have it, you may as well whine about it! I don't know why that helps, but it seems to. LOL

Sweetpink, I use Hardcore Precision Engineered Series Whey Protein Isolate. It's very good.. It has 2 grams carb (1 gram NET carb). It's Very Good. I get it at Vitamin World - comes in 2# tubs - I usually buy the vanilla and then mix a little cocoa powder in it if I want chocolate since I don't do anything chocolate all that much. But it comes in chocolate too and it's very good as well. I didn't care for the strawberry flavor - that tasted a little artificial to me.

One scoop has 130 calories and has 30 grams protein. I highly recommend it. If you don't have a Vitamin World nearby, you can also go to VitaminWorld.com and buy it online, they usually have real reasonable shipping charges.

That's been my mainstay breakfast for almost two years now - it's quick and easy and tastes good... Sometimes I'll add fruit (berries) to it, sometimes just the flavored Torani syrups and sometimes nothing extra.

Hope that was a help to you.

Betty

I only have a diet rootbeer once in a while- but I'm afraid I still suck down one 24 oz diet pepsi a day. :o(

It's called bulletproof coffee. I'm attempting it. I DO need to get the Tourani flavorings. I think that may just be the thing to keep the cravings away!! PERFECT!!! I'm such a coffee person! That's the one thing that gets me. Take away bread? OK. I can totally deal. Take away my candy coffee?? Oh man.... I get mean lol.

I'm currently doing 1 tbsp. of butter 1 tbsp. of MCT oil and some vanilla stevia... with a milk frother so all of it mixes up nicely. It's a process. But yes, you totally do have to wipe your mouth from the oil after you drink it. lol!

I'm afraid to add any type of pop into my diet right now since I've only started this week. I'm afraid it will start some other cravings. Have you found that?

Protein shakes. Have you found any that aren't high in carbs?? I would love to have a chocolate shake and add some cream in it. That sound fabulous actually and I seriously need to up the protein in my diet. I'm finding that with my bulletproof coffee in the morning and what I've been eating I'm making my fats (imagine that) but I'm not quite hitting my calories and proteins I need. Le sigh. ;)

A diet rootbeer with a few Tablespoons of heavy cream is delicious like a rootbeer float!

Butter in coffee? OY! no!!
I had heard of coconut oil in coffee but I eat my 1 Tablespoon of Coconut oil plain- I like the taste!

If you don't drink your coffee quickly , yeah the darn cream floats to the top as the day goes on! I try not to let that happen!

You have to use the unsalted butter, so the flavor is actually OK - at that point it's really just congealed cream anyway. But it doesn't dissolve in the coffee, still floats on the top, and that's what makes it gross.

I've not tried butter in coffee - it just doesn't sound good at all.. I have used a little coconut oil, but not crazy about it in coffee unless there is cream as well, then it's tolerable.

I drink my coffee black, but sometimes later in the day I will put some cream in it just to add a little fat, especially if I think I'm getting hungry. A little hwc in hot tea is also good.. I don't use the CO in a beverage like that at all anymore..

If I'm going to do an iced drink, cream is good! Club soda, SF Torani syrup, 2T hwc makes a good drink with ice.

I can't imagine having butter in my coffee but I have had creamer so thick that it was basically the same difference. Probably carried back and forth from work too many times.

Yeah, this is a great thread! Probably if we posted our cravings instead of struggling with (and sometimes giving in to) them our tickers would all be a little lower.

I've tried the coffee with butter and with coconut oil and I just don't like the greasiness of it. Cream, while rich and fatty, doesn't make me have to use a napkin after every sip.

I agree, post your cravings- we all have them! We're here to support!!

I run a 4 bed group home so I work every day. I used to have a Caribou Mocha every day to reward myself. Can't say I miss them anymore! But it took a while!
I drink lots of (decaf) home made iced coffees with heavy cream- YUM!!

Awesome!! :) Thanks guys! I wonder if I just use the heavy whipping cream instead of the stupid butter and oil and crap. It just feels wrong deep down inside lol. Do you guys add anything else to your cream?

Hey, don't apologize for posting your cravings. This is the _perfect_ place to share that kind of thing. See all the good advice you've gotten? I too like to use heavy cream in my coffee. One of the big advantages to a low-carb (and I hasten to add - high fat) diet is that you can use yummy things like heavy cream without feeling guilty.

This is the day the Lord has made; let us rejoice and be glad in it!

NOWYOUDIDIT - Hey, that iced drink from Starbucks sounds good. It's sugar-free vanilla flavored - but did you have them put anything else in it, like milk? Just looking to enlarge my drink options. I really miss my iced lattes in the summer.

I always just get dark roast with heavy whipping cream. You could also add sprinkles of cinnamon or nutmeg or cocoa and some splenda or whatever.
