I hope Daisy gets happier and more comfortable! Sounds like she really needs some stability and TLC.

Love all the good news!

I got another cat this afternoon. Another foster. Daisy is a beautiful muted calico who hates other animals. She is not a happy camper at the shelter. She hates her cage. She hates the other animals. She hates being around the other animals. Etc. She may have been a stray, but I don't know. She was a very young mother, though. Anyway, they want to see how she does in a home with no other animals and not as many people traipsing through as at the Shelter. So far she hasn't come out of the Cat Room, which is the spare bathroom. She hasn't let me pick her up, either, though she does come out to greet me and rub against me when I pass by. She has adopted the sink as her bed for some reason. Maybe she feels safer being up on the counter than she would on the floor? She does go down to eat and drink and use the litter box, though. I'm hoping she'll be more comfortable tomorrow.

More good news on my tooth! Strange as this sounds, I'm thrilled that it has to be pulled! It's cheaper, my own dentist can do it, and I am not sure why, but I feel better about that than a root canal. The endodontist was very matter of fact and assured me that a chunk of my face was NOT going to fall off from the infection. I just gotta swish with hot salt water and take some antibiotics and schedule the extraction with my own dentist when I'm better!!

You guys ARE therapeutic!!

Yea Leslie!

Debb, this gang is almost like group therapy! Hang tight.

Russell, walking to the Amish store for your chicken was the best thing for Pepsi pennence! lol. I'm not walking today because it just isn't very nice out. That time of the year is rapidly approaching I'm afraid.

Fortunately I have an appointment today so I get to blow this nightmare in an hour and a half! Woo Hoo! Then a mad dash to the store and the hardware store and HOME! I'll be busy but it won't be here!

1. Stop wasting money- Save money

Great news on the mammo, Leslie! Hope you get some quick help on your tooth.

Debb - glad to see you checking in! Sugar is such a devious enemy, it not only makes you feel temporarily better, it makes you crave more and more. Such a vicious cycle. You deserve good food to nourish your body and mind.

Finally got my biopsy results - benign! Thanks for your thoughts and prayers.

Just got to work and am happy to report that the call-back mammography showed nothing - no need for an ultrasound! Whew. I also called the endodontist and they fit me in to a cancellation at 2:30 today. My face is puffy and I feel miserable. I've got to churn out a payroll run and then leave here by about 2:10. I hope they give me industrial strength antibiotics!

Debb, I admire you for digging to get to the bottom of your struggles... I know it wouldn't be an easy task. But like Woubbie said, it's like pulling a tooth - hurts before, but feels better afterwards.

Russell, I would have NEVER made it working in a pizza place for 8 hours... especially if I was hungry. As for the soda.. I would have just put ice in some water, but then I very seldom ever drink soda of any sort. I do drink ice tea some.

I'm going to a friend's for dinner tonight, she's not doing l/c, so I'm afraid it's not going to be too easy. I know she's doing eggplant parmesan, so most likely will be breading on the eggplant... I'll scrape off as much as I can. And I'll do NO carbs until then, so I should still be okay. Earlier in the day, I'll just eat protein...

Now, I'm going to go walk before it gets too warm...

WOUBBIE--not really following a particular plan. I still eat fruit, but I have to be careful with a lot of things due to food allergies. So, I'm just watching my carbs, keeping them to 20-40 a day (not including fruit--it's too important to not have).

I have worked with a personal trainer in the past and using those routines at the gym and adding cardio.

Good morning, all! I'm still bashing away at my mountain of paper. Meh.

Kokoska, I like the new identity!

(((hugs))) to Debb. Hang in there! Therapy is like pulling out a terrible splinter. It hurts while you're doing it but it feels so good when it's out!

Fab, are you following a particular plan?

Have a great day, everyone!

Thanks for the info. I have been trying to drink a little Gatorade during the day to help with the electrolytes. I think it's helping.

I also use Low Sodium salt for the potassium--i seem to deplete that when doing high protein.

Russel, eating low carb and working in a pizzeria, ... sounds like hell.

Fab, take it easy with the workouts for the first two weeks of low carb, your body chemistry needs time to change to be fat oriented rather than carb oriented. As for the headaches, try taking in some extra salt, perhaps just some dissolved in water, that really helps during the first week or two of transition.

Day 3 of no soda
Day 4 of continuous workouts

Wow. lots of changes but they feel great.

Have a terrible headache today, but I know that will pass. It's temporary pain for a lifetime change.

The breakroom is FULL of junk food today. Need the strength to get me through it.

Good for you HONDABLONDE, keep at it! What keeps me going when I want one of my nameless treats is to look at the ingredients of those treats. If its not made with normal ingredients then what are you really putting in your body? Keep it up!!

Maw - enjoy your day, and get some rest.

Last night I helped out a friend at his pizzeria, and it ended up being a full shift, when his employee got sick. It was fun, but I was unprepared to be there for that long. I ended up having some wings ( ok ), a salad ( ok ), but I ran out of water, and had a wild cherry Pepsi, and had some ranch on the salad. I planned for 2-3 hours of answering phones, and spent 5 hours making pizza in his 100 degree back room ( no AC ). I burnt through my 40 ozs. of water quickly, and they were out, of course. I could have had tap water, but I like my water frigid. An excuse, but it happened.

So today, I am stranded, since my brother is back in school. Tu., and Th. he goes 8-4. I am supposed to pick up 12 lbs of chicken that I pre-ordered from the Amish market @ 12, and I am too lazy to walk 2 miles there to get it. Well, plus carrying 12 lbs. back. So i have to call, and let them know I can't make it till 5, or they will sell my chicken..lol.

I woke up at 6:45, when my brother was getting up, and already did a 45 minute walk. After my cheat, I didn't sleep to well. I am only up a lb or two, which should disappear by tomorrow, but it messes with me internally. So, my plan for today is a nap, and then going to get my chicken. I still have the chicken, tomatoes, and peas from yesterday's dinner, for lunch, so I am planning on getting some stew meat and broccoli while I am there, and just make dinner, and watch a Tigers game, and try to get to bed early, and have a good night's sleep.

If I had not already been up, they started cutting a section of concrete up, outside my window at 8:15 a.m., and it lasted till about 8:45. Hope everyone has a good day!

hi, All - Tuesday, and went to see my therapist, as I do on Tuesday mornings.

It's hard work, but it's worth it. I am learning so much about myself; I've used food for years to push my feelings down, and there's so much down there! Scary.

That said, I stopped gorging with ice cream, cake, candy and cookies last Friday -- today is day 5. And I cut out the starches and fruit today.

I am praying that my weekly counseling will help me see more why I need to punish myself (stuffing myself and getting fatter and fatter), and why I don't feel worthy of feeling good. It's all so complicated.

It's sunny today and most of the work is caught up. I only have 2 more ebay items to pack and will head to the post office soon. But I am also going to take time to go to the park with the dogs.

Life can be good -- I just need to keep reminding myself... and believe it, too.

Will be another lazy day here. I was beat when I went to bed last night, even though I had a lazy day doing mostly nothing. I have a few errands to run, including getting a new foster cat. Other than that, not much. I cancelled my volunteer stints and my tutoring sessions all week.
