Joy, I almost fell off the sofa laughing at your last sentence!!

Whiskey is really doing well - the vet tech called a little bit ago and said they were all amazed. He's so social that he probably thinks he's on vacation (good hospital food from a can - decadent!) and they're all there to entertain him. I'm so relieved. Just have to get labs back on whether or not his mass was malignant.

I'm so sad that Tater had to be euthanized... It really did sound like there was something seriously wrong with the little guy though.

Have any of you ever eaten coconut shrimp? I made shrimp cakes last night or the night before (it's blurred), and I was totally impressed with myself! I blasted some cooked shrimp through the food processor, added an egg, coconut flour, scallions, seasonings, and mooshed the results into patties that I fried in coconut oil. They weren't greasy and I can't wait to do it again! Holy deliciousness... They tasted just like those battered coconut shrimp without the breading and sweetened coconut. They were a little dry so next time (and there WILL be a next time) I would probably add two eggs and make them a tad gooeyer (I know that's a real word because I say it all the time - which is the only criteria I require to deem something a real word - but it looks stupid in print!).

Kris - I hate that when I have to wait until Monday to get test results, but I try to go with the idea that "no news is good news". They tend to get a hold of you right away when there is something to be worried about.

Today has made me feel like I am "on the threshold of hell" to quote Chevy Chase from Xmas Vacation. I have been trying to communicate all week with a travel agent on the phone to coordinate a trip to South Dakota, and she is a Chatty Kathy (does anyone remember that doll?). She kept steering me into all kinds of lodging and activities that I wasn't interested in. She almost made me want to go somewhere else for vacation, but I called her back and told her exactly what I wanted her to do. It apparently helped because it was quitting time at her office, and she was willing to cut the conversation short so she could go home. (Hope she's not on this team.)

Wow, Maw! Sleep, sleep and rest when you're not sleeping! And poor Tater, wonder what caused all his troubles? Poor thing! You've had quite the week too.

Just called to see if my biopsy results were in, they weren't. So I guess I have to wonder all weekend. Ugh.

Heidi, you were not "bad" yesterday. You may have made poor choices, or even bad choices, but YOU were not bad.

Hope the weekend let's you destress and that next week treats you better. That goes for everyone!

The shelter said that Tater (foster dog) went downhill quickly this week, and his lungs got congested, so they decided it was in his best interest to euthanize him. Poor Tater.

I have pneumonia.

Pets are our kids- we love them and miss them when they go and worry about them when they're here.

I was bad Wednesday night, part of yesterday but should be better today. Yesterday was crazy- federal report due the 14th that I still haven't gotten submitted because the software won't take it for some reason. I had a hair appointment that was 4.5 hours, the dog went to the Spa, I grocery shopped, met up iwth a friend and finally at 8:30 got home where I shined the sink, ate my rotisserie chicken, made the coffe and got all of 2 pages read before dropping like a rock. Didn't get my face washed- oh well.

Today the phone line Help gal is out so I have the email help desk and for 4 hours the phone Help line also, a teleconference and a meeting. Lunch? Isn't in the program today. I brought food as usual so I'll eat at my desk. Hopefully being swamped like this will make the day go faster- I serioulsy don't want to be here.

1. Stop wasting money- Save money

2. Exercise- do something every day

3. Get organized- mise en place

4. Write a letter by hand at least once a week.

Every day this side of the sod is a good day-
not sure who said it

My animals make me happy, some people not so much- a bumper sticker

Good morning everyone. Thinking of all of you with sickness and loneliness from missing pets. Feel better.

Last night I was looking back to see how I was eating when I was losing weight more than I am now. That was like April last year 2012. I was really keeping the calories down, whether on purpose or it just happened or not sure if I just didn't fill my tracker in completely. But I think I need to get back to lower calories for me and where I am with my weight right now. And of course I am not drinking enough water. Those are challenges before me. I am doing some exercize. I ride the exercise bike at PT several times a week. It makes me feel good. It is sort of hard for me to get out and walk. It has been so hot here during the day, like on my lunch or if and when I take a break from my desk. I need to find a way even if it is indoors like you Woobie.

Thanks, Leslie! I still keep looking for her before realizing she's not there. I suppose that will take awhile to go away. But I'm not second guessing myself anymore about if it was really time, looking back I know it was.

Glad to hear that Whiskey is doing well, Leslie. And that you get to take some extra time for yourself.

And that you are back on track, Kris. It's been a rough week for you,

Still fighting my cold, nasty thing that it is. Ugh.

Called the vet clinic last night before I went to bed and Whiskey was doing well. The vet said he'd gone outside and pottied and that he wasn't whining or barking. I was going to get up and workout this morning, but I really feel like I want to ease up a little today. I'd taken the day off to stay home with the boys in case there were side effects from the anesthesia (vet sent me home with Pepto for Chaser!), but Chaser has been fine. I need to go to the bank, work a little at a client's office, call another client, and then I have window washers coming this afternoon.

Chaser and I are going to a friend's cabin for the weekend so you probably won't hear from me again until Sunday. Whiskey will stay in the hospital until Sunday afternoon, and I will be so glad to have him home again. Chaser and I are lost without our bouncy little buddy. Fitkris, I keep thinking of you and the huge space left by Cloe. It is always a relief to not worry about them anymore, but losing a dog can leave a gigantic empty space in a home. Sending hugs...

Leslie, sorry to hear Whiskey needed surgery! Hope he turns out OK and heals quickly.

I feel much better after a good nights sleep. So glad it's Friday, I didn't think this week would ever end. I am back on track with my food. Seems like it's been a tough week for a lot of us. Have a great weekend everyone! And thanks for all your support, this is a great team.
