LOL Connie, I tackled two beers tonight too!

My brain is fried (not from doughnuts and beer - just emotional exhaustion), but I got to kiss Whiskey's little face when I picked up Chaser. I'll call in a little bit and see how he's doing. Post-op bleeding is a concern as is the nature of the mass, but I can't do anything about it.

Chaser was wide-eyed and restless but he's starting to relax now. He ate a little bit, and now he's sleeping like normal!

My stupid eating today was just reactionary and mindless - mental and data overload. I'm glad I took tomorrow off! Poking the Reset button now...

Leslie, I realized that my indiscretions of the weekend were from emotional things. Issues that had nothing to do with food but with feelings that I used food to try to salve. I guess I haven't gotten over all of my stuff and still need to work on not using food to comfort or whatever.. I guess we are all in process and probably will alwyas be, except for maybe Suzanne the carnivore emoticon

Oh Faith, I'm channeling your past indiscretions! I 'fell' face first on a chocolate muffin this morning and then turned around and tripped and did a full face plant on a doughnut. *sigh*

I'm really kind of a basketcase today. I dropped both dogs off at the vet clinic this morning so Chaser could have a dental and an extraction, and Whiskey was supposed to have a lump taken off his toe. Turns out that Chaser just had a cleaning and the tooth in question is okay. Whiskey, on the other hand, woke up feeling miserable so they left his toe alone (lump has gone way down in size anyway) and after some diagnostic work, found a mass on his spleen. He ended up having major surgery at 1:00 this afternoon!

They removed a mass (and his spleen) and still don't know if it is benign or malignant. He came off the anesthesia and the breathing tube and the vet's message said he's doing well so far. I can pick up Chaser in an hour and they'll give me another update on Whiskey and I can see him then. He'll stay in the hospital until Sunday because I'm going camping at a friend's cabin this weekend. Both boys were going with me, but now it's just Chaser. Whiskey is in very good hands at the vet clinic - they've known me for many years and six Schnauzers, so I'm glad he's there. If all goes well I can pick him up on Sunday when I get home.

I'm leaving here in a few minutes - I'm all twittered out and useless. Stupid doughnuts - neither the muffin or the doughnut eased my anxiety about Whiskey! I wanna go hug my boy.

Russell, you give me hope & encouragement. Thank you! Traveling last week (and even yesterday) creates the 'trip, skid & catch myself' before I flat out smack into the floor. I appreciate your posts. Connie

Hope you get that sleep Kris. My brother is often woken up with his bad knee pain, but until you get that sleep you aren't going to function well.

Hope things work out for you Faith, both at work, and getting past your " drastic indiscretions ". It happens to all of us, and if we just forget it, and focus on today, everything tends to work out fine.

Today is a happy day for me. I am back up to 150 lbs lost, and just 5 lbs from a new low, and 11 from Onederland. It has been over 4 years, and I have had a few " drastic indiscretions " of my own with low carb..lol. Sometimes for weeks, but I always come back, and make new progress. Low carb is a process and I learn more about it every month. Sometimes while trying to expand my diet, I make mistakes, and pay the price, but in the end, with more practice, we get better at it.

Ugh, Faith, isn't it supposed to be an ancient Chinese curse to wish someone to live in "Interesting Times". Yeah, well, my work load just got very interesting this week too, and not in a good way. It is very simple to witness the results by looking at my tracker. Several days are empty. A sure sign that I'm swamped.

Like right now. Back to the grind.

Feel better Kris! Get some rest and sleep.

Yesterday my work partner quit. Had a meltdown saying, "I am done, Faith, just done." She typed an email to HR turned off her computer and took her purse and left. She went straight to HR and told them she quit.

Yikes. Her's was a big job! So I will have to take on some of her responsibilities until we get someone trained. But we do have a good prospect! Yeah!

The next few weeks will be difficult and interesting. Otherwise I am feeling really well, although I am trying to make up for some drastic indiscretions from last weekend. I probably had more sugar last weekend than I had had in the last year. Took Monday off to recuperate from the sugar and a super busy weekend. Well back on track now. Working on losing those couple of pounds, again.

So tired today, woke up at 4 a.m. I think because my Tylenol had worn off and I was hurting. Finally got up around 5 to take some more and went to the couch but never did go back to sleep. Just trying to make it through the day at work, then may take a nap when I get home. Feeling very emotional today which is a sure sign I need sleep.

Hope everyone has a great Thursday!
