It has been interesting to me the way my body has responded to low carb weight loss. I had stair steps -- I abruptly dropped 5-10 lbs, then plateaued for 2-3 weeks, then a fast drop again. Whenever I hit a weight I had maintained on the way up for quite some time, I would maintain it for a while on the way down, then the the stair steps would start again.
Be patient when you plateau and just keep sticking to your plan. Have fun with your foods and try things you haven't tried before. Braised cabbage with bacon and onions is one of my favorites.

I agree Joy, I think that is what I am most thrilled about. Thanks for the heads up Maw, I rather expected a slow down. I believe in the book, Dr. Atkins says the first 8-12 # loss is mostly water loss, and that true fat loss will take some continued effort and time. I have to admit, I had steamed cabbage tonight and it was divine!!!!
Not to rain on your parade (which is usually a segue to do exactly that!), but don't expect the same results the next couple of weeks. And not because of the cabbage, either. Many people go into a "Post Induction Stall" and either lose very little or don't lose at all for a few weeks. It's your body's way of taking a reality check. It will evaluate the situation and decide that all is well and it's ok to keep losing. But it can take a few weeks and it is very very discouraging.
Well, yesterday was the end of my two week induction and I am happy with the 8# weight loss so far. I am even more pleased with my eating plan. I think I got this :-) I am pleasantly surprised with the fact that I do not crave crap foods anymore. What a blessing that is!!! I have been staying well under 20 carbs most days. I am going to add cabbage to my menu for this next week, cause I am so hungry for it, and see how that goes. Hope you all have a fantastic weekend!!! Winders
