Omgosh Kris, I HATE trying to fight ants! I've had to do it a number of times over the years. We had carpenter ants here a couple years ago (outside) and had the grounds sprayed, they spray 4x a year for ants (big and little) among other crawly creepy critters... It's so worth it! I hope you don't have to smell too much of that smoke. we had that here a couple years ago, a large fire not too far from us and the smoke just settled in the valley here. We get a lot in the winter with the air inversions too with people burning wood stoves.. Some days bad enough I have to stay indoors.

Today was such a wasted day, I did nothing... except a couple loads of laundry and straightened my kitchen counters earlier, but you'd never know it tonight - doesn't look any different than it did before I started! But it was about 85 today and perfect weather for sitting outside... I'm taking advantage of it while I can before the rain starts back up.

I enjoy going to wine tasting events - I like trying the different wines.. I usually drink a glass of wine with dinner most evenings..

Tomorrow I have some errands to do... I was never away from the house today...

Betty

Heidi, I hope you survive the hike! LOL

I am feeling lots better today - only two coughing fits and only had to snort nasal spray once during the day. I walked the boys this morning and then got to a client's office at 9:00. We churned out a ton of stuff and got all his quarterly reports filed and caught up his books through the end of June. He and I were both pretty fried and hungry, so he took me out for lunch and a drink when we were done. Minimal carbage! :) He's building a new business and I'll be involved in that too when it opens late this year.

After I got home I ended up taking both boys to the vet clinic - both needed senior bloodwork and Whiskey has a lump on his toe that is not serious but needs to come off. We're scheduled for that, and to do a dental on Chaser to remove yet one more tooth, on August 15. That is going to be a very expensive vet day!

I'm officially tired now and am headed for bed.

Fitkris, I hope the wine tasting was fun.

Kris, I wanted to rip my own pants off and de-ant myself after reading your post!! YIKES! I hope your day tomorrow is peaceful, calm, enjoyable, and bug-free!!!

I'm fading...

We're fortunate, Douglas doesn't have any crawlie bugs like that. We do have mouses, spiders and a myriad of little biting things. I HATE getting up in the night and stepping on mouse innards the geriatric cat has left in or near my Acorns...

4 days on the FF and only dropped 2 pounds but that is OK. Today we had a birthday party at the beach for a friends son. He is autistic and really wanted a 20th bday party. His mom has cancer and is udon south for treatment so he's been at grandma & grandpas. He has no friends and grandma was worried no one would be there. Another friend and I rallied the neighbor hood and we had at least 50 people! Our whole neighborhood is pretty tight, we're all close. This has it's downside, everyone knows everybody's business and you can't doANYTHING without the jungle drums relaying the message. However, in times of need, we can pull off amazing stuff and did so today! Everybody brought food and drinks, we sang him happy birthday and had cake- yes, me too- only a bite. He was so happy! I had 2000 calories of garbage but it was worth it. Carbs were 85 so it could have been worse- I discovered fried chicken smells better than it tastes. http://www.juneau-guide.com/juneau-alaska-hiking.htm

Tomorrow that evil Russian is dragging me up Mt. Juneau http://www.juneau-guide.com/juneau-alaska-hiking.htm, if you don't hear from me by Monday assume I either fell off the mountain or croaked. In the event I live, I'll burn about 1300 calories extra!

Went and saw the new boat when they got in- it is NICE! We danced on the deck, made casadillas (that's pretty much what they were down to besides canned stuff) and generally had a good time. Our annual salmon derby is August 9-11and we get to take that boat out! My grandson, my friend L and her little brat, hub and I and Godfrey (it is his after all) will spend all 3 days on the grounds and hopefully win one of the big prizes. Several years ago I was 16th and I still got $700.

Hope to be here tomorrow.

Much better, thanks! The ice seemed to do the trick. Unfortunately there's now something wrong with my inner ear and I was dizzy and a little nauseous this afternoon. Went to urgent care to rule out anything more serious (I don't have any other symptoms like fever or anything that would point to a cold/virus). At 55 you just never know.

Ended up eating some wheat for dinner - saltines with milk to calm my stomach down and then a mini toasted cheese sandwich. Made me feel better and so far no cravings or bloating. Cross your fingers. Hopefully I'm feeling normal again tomorrow.

After giving my deep freeze to my brother, I decided to trunk my junk room into more of a walk in closet --Our house is so tiny (880 sq ft). I can't be live how many things I stacked in there planning to deal with when I had more time. I have a range of sizes from 14-20. It frustrates me that I have such a hard time getting rid of clothes that are too big for me, They have been boxed and ready to donate for at least a year, maybe two, but I just can't seem to haul them away.
Why is it, that even when intellectually I know I am being irrational, I am stuck in the fears of the past.

Ugh. Bugs and pests. Our house is old and kinda in the woods so bugs have plenty of ways to get in and enjoy themselves. Seems like all we do all year is rotate the type of baits and traps hidden in all the corners. Spring is roaches, summer is ants, fall and winter is mice.

Having my family over tomorrow for a graduation Sunday dinner for Max, so I'd better get on track with some cleaning and kitchen prep. The house doesn't need much, so it's mostly de-fingerprinting and doing floors.

Hi guys- VERY smokey here these last few days. It is really yucky. My chest feels icky.
Then yesterday we had an ant attack in the pantry. OMG-what a mess. I was using ant spray and got it in my lungs/nose too. The ants were fast moving, up my legs, under my shorts. Biting as they went. It was NOT a fun day!!! So today should be a good one, right?
On a good note- my pantry is now clean and decluttered!!

FitKriss - enjoy the wine tasting event. I don't drink very often, but if there is a special occasion, I will have a glass of red wine. Not very many carbs.

It's much cooler here today also. Yesterday, we got some much needed rain.

Lowering my fat intake and calorie intake today a bit. It has been 2 months on Atkins and I just keep losing and regaining the same 2 pounds. Very discouraging. We'll see what happens.

Have a wonderful weekend everyone!

Same here, going to be 69 for a high today, and won't get back to 80 till Wednesday.

Have fun at the party. Low carb has put a damper on my social life, since so much was centered around food. Sometimes we just get bored, and need to socialize, and all we can do is the best we can do. Wine is on the carb ladder, so consider it a test..lol. See what happens.

Have fun Kris. Our favorite roadside produce stand is finally open today. Plan to drive out there after breakfast. See what I can find...Plan to stay on my new strategy this weekend. Hardest thing is no cheese although I don't have much left anyway so if I don't have it I can't eat it!

Another cool day here. Need to get groceries and make an appetizer a wine tasting party tonight that DH and I are going to. I will bring a LC one of course and hopefully stay away from anything that's not LC. I don't really like alcohol much, so a sip here and there will be plenty for me.

Hope everyone has a wonderful weekend.
