Woubbie, besides the ice pack, I use an old bath towel, wrap it around the middle of the arm & go to bed. * use ace bandage to hold it in place. Then I don't lay on it wrong. One of my PT professionals gave me that clue a few years ago. I've been free from that elbow/wrist pain. If I lift weights it starts to come back . . but I use the stretch of extensors & flexors also.

Summer colds . . . ugh ! I've been missing in action. I was traumatized by the melt down of a member in my class yesterday. I'm still working on my reaction to a person having a rage episode. His melt down was his reaction to the sounds in the pool, his age, his wife is dying & he lashed out at me in front of everyone. Seriously, it scares me & I never can say whatever is necessary to calm them down or meet their needs. Anyway, I had arranged to have a small luncheon after class so I had to keep going. I didn't sleep well last night. I taught a power class this morning. I've been hiding out since then.

I have a new house mate moving in on the 1st. I offer rooms to people that are in a tough spot. It's always an upheaval as they go thru all the furniture to see what would make them comfortable in their room. Anyway, I didn't drink good amount of water yesterday or today. It makes a difference in my food choices.

Ok, so . . .food is still amazingly well. I need more H2O. Sometimes life is messy. LOL! Still stroking! One foot in front of the other and do it over and over and over.

Leslie - there's nothing worse than a summer cold. That just seems so unfair. Get better soon.

Heidi - I love to quilt and shop at the quilt shops with my friends. I have been getting the urge lately. I can almost feel winter coming already.

Woubbie - hope your elbow pain eases up on you.

We actually got some much needed rain last night. Started out an overcast day, which made me lazy and sleepy, but I have perked up some now.

Did some aerobics today. Have decided to include some physical activity to my routine. Nothing crazy, just some Richard Simmons dvds.

But if you do it coming off a fat fast when you are working so hard to make a breakthrough then why undo what you have just done? It doesn't make sense to me. If is hard enough to make progress in the first place when you are at a standstill.Alcohol kicks you out of ketosis, at least temporarilyl.

ah, a beautiful friday. sunshine, peaceful music playing and no one bothering me. i am in work mode and getting some things done. feeling more efficient this week and seeing results.... emoticon
no plans for the weekend. i always say i'm going to work a bit over the weekend, then someday i'll be ahead of the game in this non stop paper spewing office of mine, but, saturday comes and i say i deserve my weekend just like everybody else. last weekend i did work sunday afternoon and evening. that helped alot. but, i also knew it would have been less work and less stress if i had put in a few hours saturday too. procrastination is such a bad habit. you do need at least one day off a week though. at least i do.
oh well. the paperwork is always sitting there just waiting for me. it's not like it will go bad or anything.... emoticon
i think people should make allowances to themselves for having a beer or piece of cheesecake or whatever your favorite thing is. once a week, once a month. just not everyday. but, if you never allow yourself something which you truly enjoy, then one day you will probably fall off the wagon in a big, ungainly fashion and go way overboard on ingesting all that is bad for you. that's the way i think it could go for myself anyway.

You can not have the beer if you really are serious about what it is you want. It is up to you to decide what is more important. Just sayin... I have to tell myself that kind of thing all the time. I have to ask myself what do I want weight loss or the piece of chocolate or the tortilla chip or whatever. You do not have to be a victim. Not being mean, hopefully just encouraging.

I honestly don't know if I could take 100 degrees? To me 55 feels warm when it hits 80 which is rarely I head for the shade or water.

TGIF, if it didn't get here now I'd have to take a day off- my attitude is rotten (when it comes work).

Woubbie I hope your elbow gets better. I have a few back issues and don't sleep well everynight and it's wearing. It takes things like that a long time to heal.

The hub is returning from his voayge north from WA in the fishing boat. Theyhit a rough patch somewhere out of WA and the skipper had to take to his bunk because he was sick- go figure. I wish I could have made that trip- the hub has done it 3 times but I never have the leave to go (and go to quilt shows, vacations, takes days because I NEED to). I'm a bit concerned tht I'll blow the fast- I haven't had a beer all week and a few friends and I are meeting them at the dock when they get in.

Woubbie and Leslie, hope you are both doing better soon!

I hate it when temps get over 100. Today feels like fall - my kind of weather. High of 70 and a possible record low tonight of 45!
At the grocery store last week I found some cheese sticks wrapped in salami. They were a bit expensive but I bought them and they make great snacks. I'm going to make my own this weekend and save a little money.

I'm propped up in my desk chair at work, which has arms so I can't fall out. This cold progressed fast, but I'm sure I'm on the other side of the curve now. Just a lot of coughing and head congestion - and no energy which is the worst! I'm going to finish up as much as I can and go home. After a quick stop at PetSmart for kibble for my boys... Somehow I managed to let us run out last night.

Terr, your day sounds wonderful!

Woubbie, hope the elbow gets better.

Good luck with your elbow, Woubbie.
Going to play with my nephews today. It is supposed to hit 101 so I think we'll do a picnic up the canyon or go to a movie.

GM,

Sorry about your booboo Woubbie.

I am so glad its Friday! I am off this weekend and I need to catch up on some house work and devise a new plan for my work week. Next week I learn the actual system and then its cram time to learn everything there is to know. I have to remember to have an hour of me time each day so that I dont get stressed.

Have A Great Day!

Happy Friday, folks!

I got off to a rocky start this morning. Woke up at 4am with a little bit of elbow pain (a bout of tendonitis since Sunday) and should have taken a couple of Advil right then, but was out of dixie cups so just went back to bed. Woke up again at 5 am and had no choice but to go downstairs, get some water for the Advil and a cold pack from the freezer. Never did really get back to sleep.

So I'm sitting at my desk with a now-cool-pack supporting my booboo elbow. It feels much better, but we'll see what happens when the Advil wears off in the next couple of hours. I think I'll stop at MedExpress on the way home and have someone look at it. I'm pretty sure it's a repetitive stress thing from my desk situation at home (which I'm in the process of fixing - raising the height of the chair and getting a padded support for my "mouse arm").

Have a wonderful day, all!
