I thought this was a great video. I have noticed that I eat less but am not hungry and am so delighted that I can eat whatever and whenever I want-I mean of approved foods that I love. I just bought the ketone strips yesterday and have decided to take them back and save the 8 bucks because if it doesn't matter, why waste it. That's another nice piece of rib steak!!

Moxie - I searched the web about Dr. Arne, but couldn't find any specifics. I saw that he is associated with the Nordic diet.

I was very happy with the weight loss from Slim4life, but their maintenance obviously didn't work for me. Lowcarbing as a lifestyle was not recommended by them after I had lost all my weight, just to stay at a certain calorie range. Now, I know lowcarbing has to be my lifestyle.

I did their program twice, and I regained it all back and then some twice after about a year each time.

I've talked to some people on this team who lost their weight doing the Ideal Protein diet, which sounds very similar to Slim4life. I think it started in Canada.

Moxie - I can tell you the Slim4life percentages - I remembered the kinds of food I ate, and I plugged them into my Nutrition Tracker. On the pie chart, it ended up being 24% carbs, 32%fats and 44% protein. Daily calorie total was 1,000 with 62 grams carbs, 36 grams fat and 110 grams protein. I went back to using these figures yesterday because of my frustration with losing and regaining the same 2 pounds. But I was a little higher on the fat because I am used to eating more fat on Atkins. I lost a pound today, but that could be just water. They were very big on lots of protein, plenty of water, and only some skim milk and a piece of cheese. Any fat was really derived from the meat and eggs. I had to have a protein bar and a protein shake every day for snacks. Keep in mind, I weighed 170 pounds at the time. There was different programs - even ones for diabetes.

If you want more detail, email me.

Dr. Arne Astrup.
I'm still not seeing specifics although it looks like 25% protein?

No - I don't remember that part. But I listened to a doctor today on the Jimmy Moore Lowcarb Radio Show that said people should eat about 30 grams of protein at every meal, even breakfast. I can't remember his name, but he has been studying protein intake. And he said that people should eat the protein grams recommended for their ideal weight - they should not be eating protein requirements for their current weight. He suggested at least 90 grams of protein for everyone and more is good. He wasn't that big on fat intake (I think fat intake was recommended to be 30 percent), but he was certainly a lowcarb advocate. He was suggesting 100 grams as being lowcarb, but he saw nothing wrong with intaking even less carbs than that.

Do you remember any Danish doctor's name? We could always search the internet.

Does anyone know what percentages, grams, etc the Danish recommended in the "high protein" diet?

I also watched it and found it interesting. It has a lot on recent studies.
I don't follow Atkins but do follow a low carb higher protein diet that has less fat then Atkins and have been losing steadily.

I have watched this BBC documentary on Atkins. It is very interesting! It's lengthy, too. Like watching a TV show.
