One thing that helps me for drinking more is to drink from a straw, for water and almost everything else in a non-spill cup that fits in my car cup holder. Give it a try. emoticon

I am not a good water drinker either. I have to keep up with it or I dont drink enough of it I will sip and not get in very much all day by the end of the day. I am broken to I will pick at food instead of drinking water so I just count my bottlers so i know I get what I need.

Color of urine! YIPPEE! I guided my boys as they werre growing up that very technique. They were all athletes & I couldn't be with them 24/7/ Now I hear them guiding their children to look at the color of their pee. they each have a chart on the inside bathroom cup board that gives the color range of pee & what is needed. It's etched in my mind so it's like breathing. Thank you WOUBBIE for putting 'color' out here. Keep It simple Sweetie. Connie

I DO like water and we have excellent tap water in this area as well. I drink a lot of water, probably 60-70 oz. water and several cups of coffee as well throughout the day, which also counts as fluids..

I don't really pay a lot of attention to it, but I know I get at least that much in every day.

I don't like water at all, and to drink enough to not get dehydrated I have to plan it out, remind myself to drink, and give myself incentives to get enough in. It is amazing to me that on the weekends I STILL forget to drink enough, and will find myself grazing for food instead of guzzling some water. I definitely "read" the thirst signal as hunger and apparently always have, so the idea of drinking when thirsty simply doesn't work. That pathway is broken.

My guideline is color. :) If I've drunk enough to make my urine very pale yellow then I'm on track.

Connie you are right on with that. I have read so much about if you wait until you feel thirsty to drink water then you are already dehydrated.

I can't breath good in the heat so I don't get out in it much. I wish I could tho.

I want to add my 2 cents . . . I'm in sports & am a fitness instructor . . . if I feel thirsty . . . I'm already dehydrated. I prepared yesterday by taking in more water (drinking not sipping) for today's events outside.

The challenge for me . . . is that I have 3 days in a row where I'm teaching 2-3 classes a day. It's hard to stay ahead of hydration for these long outside exercise periods. My headache comes when I'm dehydrated as well as so thirsty I can't quench. This is just my body & my needs. We each do what we need to do. The summer heat is killing me though. Whewwwww. Water . . . I'm grateful that we still have water coming out of our faucets. LOL!

Teresa - when I did Slim4life, they made sure I drank my 80 ounces every day. Then if I ate something off their food list, they would have me drink 88 ounces the next day, then 96 ounces, then 88 ounces and then back with my regular 80 ounces. We called it a fat flush. They called it a water flush.

Not sure about all the data behind it, but it seemed to work.

I am not trying to make it more complicated. At the same time tho I have found that if I don't drink enough water I don't lose. I had always read that you have to drink water to lose and never really thought it had much to do with weight loss until now.

I eat when I'm hungry, I drink when I'm thirsty, much more in the summer than in the winter because I'm more hungry and to make up for water lost by sweating.
Pretty straight forward. Let's not make it more complicated than it is. emoticon

It told me 134oz I am right at that. It also says to drink that much or more in the reading did you read it all. I think I need 9 16.9oz bottles a day to get to where is says I need to be.

I go pee a lot also but not as much as I use to when I first started drinking that much water. I get up about one time at night most nights unless I drink water to close to bed time then its 2 or 3 times.

I just see so many say that sip on water all day but I feel that they may not drink as much water as they think they do by just sipping on it. I done that for two or three days and I only got in about 3 bottles at 16.9 oz. I have to see that I drink a bottle every so often in the day time because if I just sip I do just that sip.

In the summer I drink a minimum of 100 oz. If I'm outside bike riding, teaching in the sun, hanging out with my friends, I up that amount. I have a 64 oz pottery pitcher that gets filled every a.m. I also have two 20 oz water jugs that I fill each day when I walk out of the house.

If I leave the house at 7:45 am I have 1/4 of the pitcher gone. I take my two jugs with me. I end up filling those up before I get home. Then I continue drinking from my pitcher until it's gone. I also use ice in my water when it's hot so that's a little more H2O.

It's whatever works for each person. I have friends that say if they drank that much water they'd never sleep at night. they'd be in the bathroom. Well, kidneys get to rest when we recline & they clean out our toxins. I like to have enough water at night to get up a couple of times to keep the toxins removed. I can go back to sleep. I feel better. My skin is radiant & I most of the time, have energy.

When I'm worn out, I look at the pitcher to see how much remains. Usually, I haven't put much of a dent. So, after a few glasses, a few trips to pee, I'm better.

That's all I know about my need of water. Connie

They say you need to drink so many oz's for each pound of weight but I forgot how much that is. I remember adding it one time for me and I don't think I drink that much even now. I have got 8 bottles already and going to try for one more before bed if I can get it down. Going to goggle to see how much the water oz's that was.

Teresa - I try to get about 88 ounces in a day. I do notice if I have about 96 ounces, I tend to lose weight quicker. Especially in the heat of summer.

I was just wondering how much water everyone gets down each day. I have found that I need 120oz at least each day to lose. So I drink like 7 or 8 16.9oz bottles everyday. That is a lot of water. I also find that I have to drink it and not just sip on it threw the day or I will only get like 3 bottles.

So how many of you know just how much water you drink in a days time or do yall just sip and hope for the best?
