Well, I ran at about 90 mph all day, and now I've dropped! Since I'm taking Friday off (woohoo!) I had to churn out payments and stuff that I do not want to deal with next week. I feel like I got a lot caught up, so that's a good thing. But did I stretch? Nope. Eat my food as planned? Nope. Ended up eating my afternoon snack while I drove out to the former client's medical spa for another laser treatment! Anyway, I did drink a lot of water, and I did not over eat because I did not have the time or the food! LOL
Steak for dinner tonight. Tomorrow a friend and her dog are coming over in the morning (and he's not coming in because he pees in my house and she never stops him!!!), and we're driving out to a nearby state park to walk the dogs on the beach - hopefully before the crowds show up. We'll see. We may end up trying for Plan B or Plan C. I don't care - just want to get out by the water, walk my boys, and then come home to a peaceful house! :)
I'm hungry - time to go cook!

I asked them if they put any kind of sugar on the meat and they said no. I understand tho taht they may have not really understood what I was asking totally. I wonder how many carbs would be in BBQ maybe, not many should it?
Nice day here the weather has cooled off some but its cloudy now, no rain tho. When jorge gets here and I have to run back to town to pick up a few things. I have no vegys to go with my baked chicken for supper, well canned but I want fresh.
I hope everyone has a nice 4th tomorrow. I ordered up a shoulder from the BBQ place here in town. I cant have the trimmings but I can have the meat..lol
Hang in there, Debb. Sounds like the worst is over with the move. Hope you find a tenant soon.
Connie, I've never heard anything about the temperature of the water making much of a difference in metabolism. If you find that you drink more water when you keep it chilled, then you're better off keeping it chilled regardless of any minor differences. (I would think, actually, that drinking colder water would actually make your metabolism work harder, because one of the major functions of food is to maintain body temperature.)
Taking Friday off this week, so I have to kick some butt at work today. Hard to stay focused, though, when all I want to do is go home!!!
Have a great day, all!
“The great enemy of truth is very often not the lie--deliberate, contrived and dishonest--but the myth--persistent, persuasive and unrealistic. Too often we hold fast to the cliches of our forebears. We subject all facts to a prefabricated set of interpretations. We enjoy the comfort of opinion without the discomfort of thought.
Well, that's annoying. I won 500 Sparkgoodie points on my bonus spin, so I went to buy myself a steak. Guess what? No frickin' steak available! I can get an ice cream cone or a cookie, but not a steak.
Fiinalee, I think you have to burn more energy to heat up the ice water. While cold will generally slow down a chemical reaction, metabolism is a lot more complicated, and the energy to warm that water has to come from somewhere inside you.
I have not done much of anything today. I will probably take the boys to an indoor play area later. Andrew has a birthday party. DH is playing golf. I have been having a touch more variety in my diet lately. Some eggs, some pork...I am also eating my burgers well done. This is VERY unusual for me. I used to hate well done. I would throw them out and make new ones! I have always eaten them raw to rare in the middle. I have no clue why I suddenly like them well done. But, my steak is still rare to raw.
I'm excited that it's WEDNESDAY! 6 days into the low carbs. I feel lighter & tighter. LOL!
My sleep wasn't the best last night but my body doesn't hurt so I'll celebrate! Since it's cooler I leave the windows open & there are shrubs by my back window . . . . so it seems the birds congregate there to sing Good Morning To YOU . . . at 3:00 am. I wonder if I can hang some aluminum tins on the shrubs if that would shoooooo them away. Can I have some suggestions? I don't want to close that window. HELP!
I'm riding my bike 2 miles to meet a new friend for 'coffee/tea'. Then we are going to ride around to find some of the new streets in our town.
My meals are ready and there are eggs in the refreg if I get hungry immediately. I teach @ 5:30 pm and I expect few members to attend. The BIGGGGG firework show is tonight. There are 3 evenings that classes are small or non-existent. This is one of them. If no one shows up, I'll jump in the car & drive to downtown Madison for the Concert on the Square. I love that 1884 Overture with the cannon.
My water is in my pitcher. I've been guided NOT to use ice cubes all the time. The theory is that when the body is cleansing & burning fat the cold water slows down the process. Truth? Rumor? Wive's tale? I don't know. I have 2 20 oz containers that I take with me when I leave the house. One is with ice; the other is room temperature.
I haven't made plans for tomorrow (July 4th in the States). I'm hopeful that I'll be invited to someone's home for their cookout. If not, I may meander over the VFW picnic on the outskirts of Madison. I love the view there. The usually have brats & burgers & I can enjoy that I don't have to cook them. Hopefully they'll have music & dancing. LOL!
My thoughts are positive. I'm a very lucky woman. It's my decision to keep carbs at 20 or below. My L strips are getting darker. I'm ready for the day! YIPPEE! Connie

hi All -- still humid and cloudy and drizzly here (nothing new), though we're supposedly expecting temps up in the 80's next week. We shall see. After all, this IS England! haha
Almost all moved, finally. A few bigger pieces yet, but 95% of those are here now; mostly stock to move, some clothes, and few office items yet. Plan to be totally out by the time this coming weekend is over, so the carpets and house can be professionally cleaned.
Then all we'll need is a new renter, so we can be out of that lease!
Food still sucks. What can I say? :(
Enjoying being out in the huge yard with the monster dogs (when it isn't raining too much), so that is good, and business is growing. Just gotta get organised now.
