I miss our pool. We need a new liner and main drain work. they told us that it would run about $2,500 to $3,000 to have it the work done something we don't have this year. Maybe next year. We usually use it about every day in the summer so it will be missed dearly this year. I do have to add hat last year I had to stop getting in so much because of my arthritis I would hurt so bad and be sore after I got out of the cold water, its not heated. I still sat outside while the kids played in it tho even when I did not get in.
first day of summer tomorrow but we have summer temps here already. staying in the house most of the day where its cool. Later this afternoon I am gong to let the twins play with the water hose outside for a little while, being that our pool is not useable this year, no money to repair it. After that we may run to town for some fresh vegys not sure yet tho. we like fresh better than can or frozen so I have to go at least two times a week after them. They don't seem to keep very well for some reason.
I would really hate to have to move. I have lived here in this spot for 21 years, its the only home my kids have ever knew. I am on a dead end road with good neighbors out in the country so I hope to stay here another 21 years or longer.
Hang in there, Debb. Maybe set aside an hour from the craziness and do some planning for a couple of days' of food? It's so much harder to manage when you have boxes everywhere and you end up eating whatever's convenient.
Having a low productivity day, which is stressing me out. Gotta get back on task. Off I go.
The great enemy of truth is very often not the lie--deliberate, contrived and dishonest--but the myth--persistent, persuasive and unrealistic. Too often we hold fast to the cliches of our forebears. We subject all facts to a prefabricated set of interpretations. We enjoy the comfort of opinion without the discomfort of thought.
hi, things are (still) so chaotic, as expected I guess. It hasn't been a week yet since we started to move. There is so much left to get over here, it's amazing. It feels like the more we move to the new place, the more remains at the other place. SIGH
Food is way out of control, so I knew I had better check in.
I'm so afraid of the other place not renting soon, as we have to keep paying rent there till a new renter comes in (the deal for breaking our lease there). Scary stuff.
Much more room here, and a way bigger yard, more like a park, with loads of room for the dogs, and for me to walk and throw the ball with/to them. So I am out much more often, if less time than when I had to drive to a park. All in all, I am probably a bit more active this way.
Gotta get back to work -- ebay sales await packing.
The massage therapist was running late yesterday, and wasn't even ready for me until 5 minutes before they closed. So we're going to reschedule, which is annoying. But I was already annoyed and irritated and probably wouldn't have been very relaxed if we'd done it then.
I'll be working at the library this morning, then doing some tutoring this afternoon. Not sure what else. Maybe doing some work in the yard.
I had decided to have yogurt this morning, but had trouble finding it in the fridge, which was full. So I decided to clean it out. I didn't count at the time, but I know I tossed the contents of 2 8-cup containers, and more than half a dozen each of the 1- and 2-cup containers. What a waste!
Scrambled eggs with chicken livers for lunch, pork shoulder steak for supper.
