LADYWINDSPIRIT

Glad to hear your storm is basically over now! Sometimes I think the weather people just like to get their ratings up - ha ha.

But you should always be on the safe side and head for cover until storms blow over.

Maw...have a good trip and seriously..don't worry about the emotional eating or 'going off' a bit while you are there. It may stop the losing for a day or two, but trust me...you will start again very soon. I have found that if I do eat 1 day or a few days of a couple of not so low carb stuff, it actually gets me to losing a bit faster. Go figure!! lol

The 'storm' came and went so quick that it was hardly worth getting worried about. It poured down rain, but the winds weren't that bad at all and it was in and out of here in about 15 mins. Now its just a normal rain and a little windy. Nothing at all like they were saying we might get. As a matter of fact, I think the weather people were just saying that we 'dodged another bullet'. We've been lucky so far...thru Irene and Sandy and some previous to those. I hope we continue to be that...lucky! At least while I'm still living in this 'trailer', lol

Have a good evening y'all!

Bwahahaha! Thanks for the reminder, Maw! I think we called her CB (for Crazy Barbara or else just CL for Crazy Lady). I never really considered that a "real" job because it was very part time and it was because she did not want to pay me as a contractor. (she's cheap AND crazy) This place is fine for now, but I foresee outgrowing some of the limitations someday.

That angry guy is out of state on a business trip, and this was his third emotional outburst at or because of me and he was saying things like "you ruined my trip", "this is all your fault", etc... If my head was better able to process it, there would be a very funny essay or blog post in there somewhere because if I have enough power to ruin an entire business trip, I'm not holding back - I'm gonna ruin his whole life! LOL

His credit card limit was too low and once his limit increase was posted by the bank, I logged in and saw that the only charges he'd made were to Burger King and another fast food joint!! *head slap* Ah yes, priorities!

emoticon

Maw, I hope you have a good trip. Don't second guess your reasons for emotional eating - loss is a HUGE thing to process and one death can bring back all the emotions from another one.

Ladywindspirit, I hope your weather is not as severe as predicted. Ours cleared up and my office windows are open, so I'm sending positive thoughts your way!

JLKL..Tks for the info..it HAS been hot and humid here since this morning. Last time I checked, it was up to 88. Still sunny skies and mild winds. I hope you are wrong...in that since it started that way in the morning...that it will be a 'bad' evening. I don't have a 'downstairs' on this thing, except the 'crawl space' underneath and I'm DEF not going under there! lol I'd go get in my shed if nothing else. At least THAT is strapped down in case of high winds. Of course, thats only if I don't have time to gather the animals and get to the shelter in time. Wish me luck and hopefully I will be here tomorrow. lol

Tks all for the info on the probiotics!

Who was that awful client you had, Leslie - Something or other Lady? (Not LadyWindSpirit!) I'm not saying you should put up with abuse at your job, or necessarily stay there if it's not fulfilling, but don't forget what you had before!

I have been really into emotional eating yesterday and today. I have a feeling it's because I'm going to a funeral this weekend. It's for an aunt that I hadn't seen for years until I saw her at my uncle's funeral last year, so I wasn't at all close to her. And anyway, she had dementia and seemed really lost without Uncle Bob. But I think it's too close to Tanny's death for comfort. Or maybe I'm just making excuses. But I have been eating ok stuff, but in the wrong quantities and to the point of feeling almost sick.

I called my cousin last night to tell them when I would be arriving, and his wife asked me about my dietary restrictions. She remembered from when I was at another cousin's home a year ago for my uncle's funeral. What a sweetie. Anyway, turns out that she and my cousin are eating low carb, too. I told her not to worry about what I did and did not eat, that I could always find something, and she said that there would be no problem at all with food for me, since that's the way they eat too.

I'll be taking almonds, string cheese, carrots, cauliflower, grape tomatoes, and celery and freshly ground peanut butter. The celery and peanut butter are at the request of my brother, who will be riding with me most of the way. That stuff, plus lots of water and some diet rootbeer should get me there and back.

Anyway, it will probably be Monday before you hear from me again.

Have a great weekend!

LADYWIND - I feel for you - I know that can be unnerving when the severe thunderstorms are in the forecast.

I remember one really bad storm with possibilities of tornadic weather - hubby and I ran downstairs, and we could see through our little basement window one of our pear trees just being lifted out of the ground.

We always know it's going to get bad when the weather is hot and humid starting in the morning because it has all day to build into an evening storm.

So don't wait too long to go to your shelter. Take some magazines or books with you.

We're having a beautiful, mild day today. Hubby is off work today, and we went for a country drive and had lunch at one of our favorite country cafes. We're back now, and I need to do some housework.

Woubbie, you caused me to look over at the paper on my desk. I, however, looked away again. One of these days...

It's hot here, so I'm glad I got my walk and strength videos done early. The boys have fitness training at the gym in an hour or so - then we head to the pool. Can't wait! Enjoy your Thursday.

Ladywindspirit, probiotic are the live microorganisms that live inside us and ease digestion, etc. High quality yogurt usually has as least one type added (which I can't spell), and that yogurt that Jamie Lee Curtis is pushing (Activia or something like that?) has added probiotics which is what is supposed to make everyone disregard the added sugar and other junk in it and buy it in bulk... :) Some people think we can get all the intestinal balance we need from our food, but personally I think a probiotic supplement can't hurt! There are a bazillion different brands out there, but if you have a Super Supplements or another quality health food/supplement store I'd go there and ask for assistance. People who have a history of taking antibiotics (which kills off all the good bugs in our intestines) should definitely take probiotics.

I'm in a funk today. This job is not satisfying or rewarding, and my boss is gone yet again today so I can't bounce some of the decisions I'm making off him. He's got a lot to handle because it's such a small company, but between condescending, control-freaks in the home office and one rageaholic employee downstairs, I am barely coping. I am focusing on the learning opportunities and making a LOT of gratitude lists!! I think I might be sick and tired of accounting... LOL

If I am right a Probiotic helps the stomach function correctly more less. Its good to clear up yeast in the stomach that I know for I had to take it one time for that. There are cheap kinds then there are some that cost $20 or more for a months worth. I know may think $20 is cheap.

Not doing much today. I have to give the dogs outside fresh cold water in a few minutes for its really hot already today. Then I am going to be lazy today other then doing my exercise for the day and fixing supper later on. Lunch is going to be something simple that I dont have to cook.

This is the link to the Atkins website. even tho I dont fully do it the atkins way anymore I do still eat from the atkins food list/eat. I just count carbs different than they do.

Woubbie...what is a Probiotic? You mentioned that we should possibly be taking one of those daily. Can you get give me a brand name I can look for?

Today, we are supposed to be getting a pretty good storm. After 3pm, possibility of heavy rains, high winds, large hail, and tornado. Living in a manufactured home (trailer), the threat of a tornado and large hail is not good! Even winds over 100mph is scary! The rain and winds around 75mph I'm not that worried about. We made it through Irene and Sandy! but, the other stuff...oh yeah!! lol Thank goodness, there is a shelter just down the street I can almost walk to, if needed!!

Hey guys. James is sound asleep. I get the feeling he might not wake up for playgroup today. I really wanted to go too. Such is life. I did make it to the grocery store today. But, James kept climbing out of the cart, so that was a bit hurried. Toddlers are just at full speed unless they are passed out!

Starting this post all over. :( The link I wanted to link won't link. Meh.

Going to try to limit my Spark time today so that I can knock a bunch of paper off my desk. I need some breathing space this summer and as long as I have old tasks undone and hanging over my head I won't get it.

Have a great day, all!

Labour is prior to, and independent of capital. Capital is only the fruit of labour, and could never have existed if labour had not first existed. Labour is the superior of capital, and deserves much the higher consideration.
