I find that I get constipated when my fat % drops to 50%. As long as I stay above 60% fat, I am regular. I still may only go every 1-2 days, instead of 2-3 times daily, but I think my body uses the food, instead of making waste. Go by how you feel though. If you feel bloated, gassy, and like you need to go, but can't, then definitely try some fiber. Just read labels. Some have a lot of carbs, and some even have sugar. You can add in some nuts, or oil, or eat the skin, or even change chicken to dark meat for more fat, if you want to try that.

I would fill out your tracker and see how many carbs - fiber you eat over 3 days to get an average. You may be well over 20 grams, and still losing. If you are at 40 NET grams for example, and losing, then just make sure you eat 40 NET grams a day. The only worry about calories is that you just go crazy on them, which doesn't really happen after the first week. Since you aren't starving, just eat till full. You probably need to make sure you eat 3-4 meals, more than worrying about OVEReating.

Gemini - if you look for my post about the 'nutrition tracker', you will find lots of valuable information from everyone on it. Such as how to figure carb, fat and protein grams.

I think it was just yesterday that I started the topic.

Thanks ladies. I go but not like I was and I often feel bloated from not going like I used to. It's a very uncomfortable feeling at times. Again, sorry if this is TMI but I need info. Lol. And everybody does it! Lol!

First- if you ate cottage cheese and lost weight then you must not need to worry about that. Everybody is different, some people need less carbs, some can eat more.

About the bathroom part, I have to take laxatives once a week :o( I had over half of my colon removed and nerve damage in the colon does not allow me to go correctly. I guess it beats having the whole colon removed with a bag- but laxatives- YUCK!! I would say try the Psyllium fiber Dr Atkins recommends. "I" think you should go at least once a week! LOL!!

The net carbs aren't accurate on the tracker so I'd just subtract your fiber from total if you want to do that.

I wouldn't worry about not pooping if you feel ok. It is a lot different from the days of eating a bunch of whole wheat extra fiber added kind of diet. Watch cheese intake maybe....

Also, know that weight loss fluctuates. My mantra is that I have no control over what I weigh only what I do. Your body will do what it is going to when it is going to. Congratulate yourself on how much you've accomplished so far.

I wouldn't know about medicines. I don't really take stuff.

I can tell you my goals are 1200-1500 calories, 20 net carbs, 100-118 fat, 50-75 protein. I'm 5'5". It will be an individual thing. I do believe I gain weight breathing air! Was it Maw who had some nifty number crunching?

I am starting my ticker again since starting low carb....in the home strech!

Hello team. I have been doing well on LC since May 21st. As a lot of you know I already reached my first goal of 10lbs lost. I then lost another 0.4lbs over this past weekend but my weight is stalling now. (Things haven't been moving so smoothly in the bathroom dept if you know what I mean and I wonder if that's part of it).So I thought I would actually start tracking. So when I change my carbs on my tracker to reflect 20 carbs, I know now that it is not counting net carbs, but full carbs. I saw when you add a food, on the right side it automatically subtracts the fiber, etc to make it a net carb total, but that is not reflected on the main tracker. Is there a way to change this?

Also, I have no idea how many calories, fat grams, etc I am supposed to be eating. I'm not as hungry eating this way so I really don't want to stuff my face all day just to eat a lot of fat, but I also don't want to not lose weight. I don't know what to do. It's all confusing to me honestly. I was obviously doing something right in the beginning that I'm not doing now but I'm not sure what.

One thing I realized is that I'm not supposed to be eating cottage cheese, which I was. So I am cutting that out. I also wonder about things like Pepto Bismol or Antacids, Ex-lax (chocolate kind was all we had on hand and I needed it! Sorry if that's TMI..just being honest) as I have taken all of those over the last week or so. Can things like that throw you off? The meds I just mentioned?

Help please!!! Thank you.
