They are pretty quick to unless you get the whole fried tilapia or something that takes longer.

Not much of an adventure. Only about two blocks off the freeway. I will get an address for you. Remember it is just a truck stop type diner. But it is sort of homey for us.

Sounds like I will have to make it an adventure instead of putting an address into Garman. More exciting that way LOL

You just get off the I 5 either direction. It is on the main drag through town on the east side of the freeway. It is across from Tommies and the Motel, I forget the name. There are lots of trucks behind it. You can't miss it. It is closer to the Parker road exit coming north. I can't remember what street the Main drag is, maybe The Old Road? It is ib Castaic and ask anyone and they will point to it.

I am with you Leslie, just sort of loafing, except for cleaning my kitchen. I wanted to go walking but where I wanted to go my DH didn't want me to go alone, then I just petered out. So you all got me going with the ribs so I got some. I will fix them tomorrow or Monday. May drive over to the beach tomorrow. I must have spring or almost summer fever. Just want to get out. Suzanne, I have thought about you . Lately I have been craving and eating burgers quite a bit. The last few times we had dinner at Mike's dinner, I have ordered alacarte, a 1/2 pound burger with an over medium egg on top. Then my extra is some mayo into which I mix some tapatio sauce. Yummo!

Cool bag, Woubbie! I am apparently here to keep us from being a group of overachievers! I've been lounging, reading, and doing close to nuthin' all day. It feels wonderful. I slept until 7:45, walked the boys without time pressure, read a whole book, and puttered. Now there are ribs in the oven and I'm thinking about doing something moderately productive. Not sure what so I'll just sit and think about it for now...

hi, All! Been super busy here... we move in less than 3 weeks, and can't wait to have more space! To be honest, have only packed up 2 boxes, but will tackle a few more tonight.

Our business has been going gangbusters -- already surpassed last year's turnover and still have 6 weeks left to go until our business year-end.

Food is off track - yet again. :( SIGH

In a good mood anyway, and still getting the dogs out for walks 2+ times a day. Paperwork caught up as well.

Trying to find another renter for this place, so we don't have double rent to pay. This was/is part of the condition that we can leave the lease early, by another renter coming in. Fingers crossed! Had 2 couples look this week, one seeking to buy, which is also an option. We shall see.
It's nearing 7:30 pm here, and on my way to the park again with the furbabies.

Have a super Memorial Day weekend! (It's also a long, bank holiday here too) -

Debb

Great to see you back, Russell! Woubbie, that bag looks gorgeous! Wish I could sew. It's on my bucket list....Maw, you are going to be overflowing with delicious veggies! Yum.

Sounds like we are a productive group today. DH and I are priming and painting the dining room ceiling - a project from when we had to replace half of it from the ice storm. And as long as we had that mess to do, decided to paint the walls as well. I think I have finally come up with a design plan for that neglected room. We've been here 12 years and have never figured out what to put on the walls, windows, etc. And I can't wait to get rid of the hideous light fixture/ceiling fan and vertical blinds, though it may take a few months to afford everything.

Three day weekend, woohoo!

Had car issues all week, but DH has finally fixed the last of them and all wheels are operational and where they should be. (He just took my mom's van back to her - she loaned it to us for about 4 days.)

I'm doing what I darned well please this weekend, at least as much as life will allow me to, anyway. I'd like to work on a laptop bag that I'm making from scratch. Bought the fabric and cording for the strap and it's been sitting in storage since last fall. My cheapie one from KMart finally fell apart, so it's time to make some design decisions and get to it. Something along these lines, though made of upholstery fabric, not carpet:

Happy Weekend, all!

As I was going to St. Ives,
I met a man with seven wives,
Each wife had seven sacks,
Each sack had seven cats,
Each cat had seven kits:
Kits, cats, sacks, and wives,
How many were there going to St. Ives?

I slept in til 8:54, because my alarm was set to p.m. I already have my lunch and dinner cooked, and almost done with my brothers dinner. He seems to be doing low carb today, beef and tomatoes. I refuse to cook his non-low carb meals..lol. He has been stalled at 280, and I have lost 4.4 lbs since Tuesday, after doctor cleared me to resume low carb. Maybe he will try low carb again, I love all the food on my diet, but he hates eggs, and loves frosted mini-wheats, corn, and bologna sandwiches. I am not pushing the idea, but hope he gets there on his own.

He is going to college for an accounting degree, and CHF and diabetes, as well as my success at low carb haven't been enough to get him to switch, but his idea that no one will want to hire him at 280 may do the trick..lol. He'll be looking for an internship in the fall, and that would get him away from working at the pizzeria. Who knows what he's eating there..lol.
I think he also doesn't like to cook, which is why I did it for him. If cooking 2 meals a day is all I have to do to help him lose 100 lbs, it's no biggie. I love cooking.

Well, since I am rested, and it is warm and sunny outside, unlike the situation for you gals, I am planning a nice 90 minute walk along the river in a few minutes. Have a great day.

All our sports were cancelled due to rain. So, we are home today. I might take James to a play area after lunch, just to get him out of the house for a bit. Did some grocery shopping early this morning before the crowds.
It has been non stop rain all week, yuck.

Woke up at 4:30 (can't even blame the cat for that!) and couldn't get back to sleep. Finally gave up about 6:00, which is much too early! Got supper put in the crockpot (and turned on!), made lunch to take to the library with me, got my first thing in the morning computer fix taken care of, and should make it to the Farmers Market by about 8:00. Which is good, because then I can bring stuff home and put it in the fridge, or at least get it out of the car. Will be at the library all day.

Got lots done in the garden yesterday. Went to Lowe's and bought way too many plants, Christine got the front dug up into a garden (where the shrubs and such used to be, against the house. They were so overgrown that I had them cut down last year and I'm using it as a garden until I figure out what kind of landscaping to do.) Planted my peppers, cukes, squash, and lots and lots of marigolds around the squash and cukes to try to keep the squash vine borers away. Also basil because it's supposed to be good for tomatoes and other things. Still have the annuals I bought to rim the front garden to plant, and some more herbs. But not today.
