Very good tip Sharoneli !

I have been getting sick of eating cheese for breakfast. Can't stand greasy smells from meat in the morning. This will be perfect for me.

I believe the flax bread recipe is the same as the muffin in a minute. Another variation on it is to mix it up, spread it on a microwave-safe plate that's been sprayed with nonstick spray (Pam), and then microwave it. Then I cut it in half and toast each half. It's excellent spread with some cream cheese and maybe a little sugar-free strawberry jam. Feels like I'm eating real toast.

Oh, I forgot - the Flax Bread recipe is 0.6 net carbs - 249 calories, 9 g protein, 22.5 g fat, 3.9 g fiber.

Have only tried one recipe so far - but it is Atkins Induction Friendly. I enjoyed it because I was getting sick of meat for breakfast. Makes me queasy.

I'm sure most people have this one already.

Flax Bread

1 TBsp Softened Butter
2 TBsp Flax Meal
1 Large Egg
1/2 tsp Baking Powder

Microwave-safe cup, soften butter, add fax meal, egg and baking powder to butter. Mix until smooth. Microwave two minutes.

Variation: Add 1/2 tsp cinnamon to batter.

Of course, nothing is better than real bread, but what the hey!

Thank you for this link, I think I just found what my May reward will be if I hit my goal on the Bloom Where You're Planted thread! Probably just one of the books as they are a little expensive. But it looks like there's a ton of recipes in them. Please let us know how you like the recipes you try.

Moxie - I checked our Dana Carpendar website. Very interesting. Might have to get one of her books. I have noticed that when I eat fat - like cheese or heavy whipping cream in my coffee - my blood sugar stabilizes and I'm satisfied.

Gosh, wish I knew about all this a lifetime ago. emoticon

JLKL I'll look forward to hearing about some of you favorites as well. I've really enjoyed Dana Carpendar's books.

Hey Pat, I'm of Welsh ancestry. Went there on a trip with my auntie and grandfather when I was 15 (33 yrs ago!) I'd love to go back to see it again.

I am starting my ticker again since starting low carb....in the home strech!

I am so excited! I just got back in from getting my mail and a big package was in the mailbox. When I brought it inside, I ripped it open and saw my 3 lowcarb, spiral-bound cookbooks that I ordered only 2 or 3 days ago. I quickly browsed the cookbooks, and I thought I had died and gone to Heaven. Now, I can have the variety that will be necessary to live this lifestyle.

I have posted the website before, but here it is again. And I will put it on the Links area.
