A beautiful day here today, a little on the chilly side, but still very pleasant.

I went through menopause when I was about 45 or so... no symptoms, no hot flashes, no nothing except no TOM's anymore. It was wonderful - I've never had a hot flash... so can't relate. It was kind of strange, I'd just had some minor surgery for dysplasia and the dr. said he'd tie my tubes while he was in there for no extra charge... And about 3 months after that the tom's had just stopped... No complaints from me! I remember my Mother having a rough time tho... but guess I lucked out!

Faith, watched Splash last season...it's on my list to watch on my laptop.
Hot flashes were the worst for me!!!! Oh good gosh all Friday!!!!!
Funny you mentioned Mikes again. I am picking up my grand daughter on a half way swap...was thinking I might look for Mikes again BUT they picked Chick Fil A for the swap...there is a playground there and tht makes good sense to give the little one some play time. It might make my 3 hours alone in the car easier...or not. I'm thinking she will sleep on her parents section-----crap!

I can say that my menopause experience has been great to what I used to experience as TOM! Hardly a hot flash, no TOM, hardly any PMS like symptons, all good. I have had a few hot flashes with the radiation treatments though. I am really tired today but stayed up to late last night watching The Voice. I love that show. Has anyone seen Splash. I have been watching that on my laptop as I rested over the weekend. It is kind of cool! Maw, glad that you are taking it easy.

We have had severe winds here in So Cal. OMGosh! Thought we were going to blow away. We had dinner at Mike's Cafe last night. It is sort of a Mexcan truck stop kind of place. I had Machaca con Heuvos. Which is basically shredded beef with eggs, bell pepper, onion and tomatoes all cooked together. Had left overs today for my breakfast. Yummo!

Have a good day everyone.

Funny but I just told a friend yesterday that I would be standing in line at the grocery store as an 85 year old woman with feminie hygiene products in my cart... I just keep telling myself that I have the hormones of a 35 year old woman and I think it supports my ongoing lie (and self-deception) that I am really 37, not 51.

Woke up with a headache today. Probably from sleeping really hard and not moving around much. And from eating badly yesterday. However, I got up in time to hit my ski machine for a good 15 minutes. Lots of small tasks and loose ends on my desk today... No client stuff planned for after work, so I'm taking the boys for a walk and having a relaxing evening at home. I am NOT changing that plan! :)

Menopause isn't necessarily any better than TOM you guys...just different. Sorry if I am bursting anyone's bubble.
MAW- can't remember when you said you were going back to the doctor but I hope it is soon. I will be going back to the shoulder guy on thursday. I am really cranky fearing that some of my fitness efforts will continue to be derailed I am hoping he wants to give me another shot and give it a chance rather than talk surgery....(have to admit that shot was on the yucky side tho)
Thursday is B day around here...meaning Blair is coming to visit sans parents. We are running around baby proofing!!!! She is 16 months and picks up EVERYTHING. DH and I should be thoroughly pooped by Sunday

Funny, Woubbie! I have often wondered the same thing, but am having a hysterectomy this summer to alleviate my issues. I'd probably end up like BudgetMaw's mother otherwise!

South Dakota is getting hammered with a spring storm. It's been raining all night, but freezing on the trees. The branches are hanging so low with the weight. My DH just sent me a picture of our back yard - we've lost several large branches from our tree and one of them knocked the shutter off our bedroom window, but thankfully didn't break the window. Branches on the roads, power outages all over, and all the schools in small towns around us are closed b/c of icy roads. The roads are fine in the city where I am so far, but my son's high school and one of the middle schools are without power...wondering if I'll be able to open my car doors after work. Later today, it's supposed to turn to snow, and this storm is slow moving and not expected to end until Thursday. Ugh.

That was funny, Maw. :)

Good morning, all! I am really excited, because I officially hit my first goal today (20 lbs lost). Actually lost a little more than that, but I am pretty happy! I have ordered some ankle weights as my "reward" and encouragement to keep at it. This is the most I've lost in a stretch (took about 2 months, give or take) in I-don't-know-how-long!

Today is my husband's birthday, too, so I am letting him sleep in, but I am dying to shake him awake and shower birthday gifts on him, haha. :)

Have a good Tuesday!

Poor Woubbie! Mom had a hysterectomy in her mid-60s because her periods were so heavy. And since the best guesstimate of when a woman will hit menopause is when her mother did, I was expecting to be using both feminine hygiene products and Depends in the nursing home! Forunately, I let Mom outdo me in this regard. Hope you feel better soon.

Nothing planned for today except class. I cancelled my volunteer stint at the library this morning so (I hope) my knee and leg will do better at class this evening. I've been spending much of my time with an ice pack under my knee, which feels much better but is sort of a do-at-home sort of thing. I will be sure to get in some walking around the house and other gentle movement, though.

Good morning, all! Sorry for the following TMI. Woke up grumpy this morning and now I know why. AM I NEVER GOING TO HIT MENOPAUSE?!? *sighs in exasperation*

emoticon

Well, that explains the anxiety yesterday morning as well. The only good news is that my pants still feel really loose (gives new meaning to the word "slacks"), so next week they'll probably be falling off.

*sighs again*

Have a great day all. I'll try not to wind up on the news at 11......

Only five am here, but I usually wake at five or six. I hope the rain stops so I can walk outside with James. We a a routine doctors appointment at nine and she better not be running late again. I waited an hour last time and was pissed.
Hamburger meat is on special this week, thank god cause I am on a tight budget! I had a bunch of unexpected things pop up.

Good Morning, All!

It will be 10 am here in 2 minutes -- been up since 7, despite the jet lag. LOL

All ebay paperwork done, just need to pack them up and get them to the post. Some other, non-ebay orders to fill as well.

Had a tin of tuna with some mayo for breakfast, probably steak or lamb chops for dinner, whichever defrosts sooner.

Will get the dogs out for at least one park run today -- hopefully before I head over to look at a house. Definitely will take them when I return, at the very least.

Keeping busy as all get out, but in a great mood.

Have a Terrific Tuesday, Everyone!
