Quebec...yes, a restaurant got fined for using the word pasta. But, French Canadians say pasta! So, it makes no sense. They want to force the language. Now, all the English kids are bilingual and the French kids only speak French. Who do you think will have the good jobs in twenty years?
Cash would be nicer, but it sounds like an interesting barter, Leslie. Do you still have to pay taxes on the value, lol?
Suz, I looked at an article about them citing a restaurant for writing "steak" on their grocery list instead of "biftek" and citing an Italian restaurant for listing their dishes in Italian. o.O It sounds like Quebec needs a serious dosage of the same thing the American deep South needs -diversity! I say we invite millions of Lithuanians, Nigerians, Indonesians, and Lebanese to come live there. Bam, instant diversity!
Welcome to the team, Chele! This is an awesome group... some very entertaining people here!
I had a very busy, full Saturday but feel like I accomplished something. I also finally got a client who has owed me about $1,500 to respond to me! She's willing to swap products with me to pay off her balance (I am NOT doing any more work for her - I suspect she'll be out of business shortly) and I'll meet with her next Tuesday to work out a plan. She does high-end skin care and I can get products or esthetic treatments... I'll see what she says. I would not do this for myself and since cash is just not an option at this point, I'm sorta excited about the alternatives!

Sort of taking it easy today. Still in my pj's but I do need to go to the market today or tomorrow. I did clean up my kitchen and made cream of celery soup out of a whole bunch of celery leaves and tops that I had and didn't want to throw away. Used a bit of bacon grease and sauted some onion, added all of the celery for a bit added water and bouillion cubes, bay leaves, onion and garlic powder, some cayenne pepper, ginger powder, curry powder, let it cook for awhile and added heavy cream. Oh I put some Tapatio hot sauce too. It turned out really good! Oh I also watched Les Miserables on TV. Love that movie and have been waiting to see it again. I am going to watch Life of Pi also soon. Hubby is bringing home a pizza with double toppings. It was so good last time he did that. I just eat the toppings. Good Saturday!

He's going on a French class trip, leaving here early Monday morning and returning around midnight Friday. He went with them two years ago and had a marvelous time! They spend 2 nights in Montreal and 2 in Quebec City. The tour company (Prometour) really gives them a lot to do, including an opportunity to stop at a high school and meet kids their age.
He's in French 5 this year, and his plan is to speak nothing but French from the time he and his friend get on the bus until they get home!
I'm gonna miss him! We're trying to set up his phone service for international calls (it's pay-as-you-go so they make it kind of tough).
Taking my younger son for some medical tests today to rule out anything serious in his anxiety attacks. We'll all feel a little better when we get some definitive answers one way or another.
Then, taking the older son clothes shopping for his Montreal trip on Monday. Hate shopping. :( I'm going to stop at Home Depot, though, and buy a single package of paneling that I want DH to experiment with in our room to patch our horrible, crumbling plaster ceiling.
Have a great day all!

My husband and son are going skiing, wish I could go, but I am hanging with James. We will hit an indoor play area, so he will have fun. Hopefully some of my friends will be there so I am not too bored. We watched life of pi last night, I liked it more than I expected.
