had an interesting phone call today from a woman who owns a jewellery store in another small town a ways from us. she was asking about a couple credit card charges that were made by someone taking our taxis. we lost the money as the client called his credit card company and claimed that he didn't make the charges. we had the charge slips with his signatures, but, they took the money back from our account. they didn't give us a reason.
she had obtained a list of where this guy had been and he had spent probably close to $10,000 on goods at many different stores -- $900 in clothes here, $4,000 jewellery there, $420 in taxi fare with us.....anyway, she is trying to put together information for the police. she has found the guy's picture on facebook and asked that i show it to my drivers and see if they recognize him. she said initially when her store was ripped off she went to the police and they wanted nothing to do with it. she's hoping that now with several businesses involved and a few people id'ing him that they will do something about it.
resourceful lady. i wouldn't have a clue how to get that information. it will be interesting to see if we get the money back.
Well since I have been away I gaind a few pounds but only 5 so I would say that is really good since I have been eating problably not the best and I was sick for a few weeks. But I am back on track and am feeling good. I am currently at 194 and am just restarting everything and what is so strange is that for once I have not been beating myself up over the fact that I have not been on here. I need to get back to logging everything I put into my mouth every day. The fact though that I have maintained what I did lose within 5 pounds makes me feel really good about the food choices I made while away. So with that being said I am feeling as though I am back and ready to getting ready for the summer. I have a wedding to go to next week. I will leave from work and drive 2 hours to get to it so I am just going to bring my dinner with me and eat it when I get into town I think then not have to worry about what is being served there. Not a big fan of cake so that won't be an issue either which is good. The next event I have to look forward to is in July for a convention in Chicago...So I am gearing up for summer and to drop a few sizes. Here we go....
If your tired of starting over, stop giving up!

Yes, good stories this morning. My work partner of 8 years left last Friday and I am working at training her replacement. She did some of that before leaving but this new girl wasn't able to leave her position and come to us full time until yesterday. Yikes I hate having to train. When the last girl came she already knew most of the surgery scheduling and had been doing it for years. This girl has zero experience with surgery anything, but she has been a buyer in the hospital and it was that experience that we needed most at this time. It will all work out but has been a stressful few weeks. Well have a great day everyone!

My Wednesday morning started with a failure in my garage door. It would not open. I also could not open it manually. Called work and found out there were only a couple people there, and then I called repair companies. A nice dude named Kevin told me he could be here in an hour and then had me walk out to the garage with the phone... Some describing of Garage Door Parts later I noticed the big gap in one of the springs (that I previously had not even realized was a spring), and thus the diagnosis: broken spring. And Leslie is temporarily trapped in her house!
Kevin is now here making big noises and replacing both springs and I using this delightful and unplanned free time (free being debatable as the door will cost about $325 plus tax) to catch up on emails. And as I am exempt from overtime laws, I am not losing out on leave or wages! :) I'll be at work before lunch and will be working like a maniac again!
I slept really good last night but woke up to a weird noise that I attributed to wind and downspouts, but now I know it was the sound of a big-a$$ spring breaking apart! I just can't have a boring day...

My desk has not been so pristine in about a year! That doesn't mean that I have NOTHING to do, but, for the moment at least, nothing is bursting into flame in a corner while I work on something else! I changed my (EDIT:) SparkPeople (:EDIT)signature this morning to try to remind myself to keep my priorities straight, both with work-work, home-work, and life-work.(Should get it tattooed on the backs of my hands....)
Have a great day, all!
