Phew. First chance since early in the day to check in. Busy work day. Tomorrow will be better I think. Gotta run again. Taking the "musician" to his sax lesson in a few minutes. *waves bye bye on the fly*

As I was going to St. Ives,
I met a man with seven wives,
Each wife had seven sacks,
Each sack had seven cats,
Each cat had seven kits:
Kits, cats, sacks, and wives,
How many were there going to St. Ives?

My daughter-in-law's birthday today. I had been hoping that she would choose a steak house for the family dinner (Rib-eye is my favorite meal) but she chose mexican -- I will have naked fajitas instead.

Maw, I have serious freezer envy! At some point when my income stabilizes I am going to look at buying my beef in bulk from a local farmer.

Suzanne, I am so sorry you can't get the surgery! I had it done in 2000 and am so glad I did. I got rid of contacts, but but now that I'm aging I have to have reading glasses. That is easier to live with than full-time contacts though so I am thankful every day!

I'm working hard and fast at work again, but my boss left for a meeting so I'm breathing right now. He's SO easy to work with and he's got a great sense of humor, but he is a tad chaotic and we're still struggling to get systematic and caught up. He's also leaving for Europe on a business trip on Saturday and we have to get a lot done before he leaves.

Tonight is my only night this week without errands or appointments. I plan on going home and taking the boys for a nice walk outside in the woods and then cooking cheeseburgers for dinner and doing NOTHING until bedtime. Nothingness sounds lovely... LOL

Boy did I ever score! I don't remember exactly what I ordered, but it included 10 pounds of hamburger, a tongue, some suet, and a bunch of soup bones. Total cost $80. Instead, he dropped of a box of ribeye steaks! There must be at least 30 steaks there, probably more. I sure hope he doesn't deliver my order to some fancy schmancy restuarant! Of course I called as soon as I noticed, but no one was home and I don't have his cell phone number.

I grew up with 'home grown' beef -- I have to admit it has made me a bit of a meat snob. We don't raise our own beef/pork anymore. Usually we by a steer and a pig from one of the 4H or FFA kids at the auction -- a little more expensive, but you get a great quality product, choose your own cutter, and help a kid pay for school -- showing stock was one of the ways my brothers and I paid for college. Then we split the meat with my parents, and brother.

Suzanne, I, too, am sorry that you couldn't get the eye surgery down. I could hear in your words how much you were looking forward to it.

Not much on my agenda today. Going to the gym for my workout in about half hour. I am usually there for at least an hour and a half..sometimes 2. Then going to pick up my daughter, who has an ear infection and take her to her doctor. After that, I am going to try to work on my low carb recipes/quick look info and attempt to set up a Food Tracker..either at Fitday.com or on here again. It is so time consuming and hard to figure out how to find and enter the foods I'm eating on here, that I usually give up. lol But, will/want to try again to I know how much fat, protein, and carbs I'm eating each day.

Have a good day you'all!

Suzanne, sorry to hear you're not a candidate for the eye procedure. :(

Maw, I love locally grown meats, too. Where we live, there are loads of farm shops, and they're always much better than the grocery stores, quality and taste! We get free range eggs from a local farm. as well. This stuff even LOOKS better, you know?

My mood is down again today. Felt like I wanted to cry earlier. Nothing specific happened, however. I imagine a lot will start coming up as I pursue therapy. But I want to heal, so onwards I go.

Finally some sunshine here! I truly cannot recall when we last had more than a minute or 2 of it.

Had the dogs out this morning -I had to pop by the doc's for a blood test; I felt my blood thinners needed adjusting, and I'm right.. my reading is too high. No wonder I have bruises, discolorations, and ouches all over my legs. Instinct, and following it, is good. :)

Have a super Wednesday!

I have a bunch of meat being delivered this morning from a local farmer. I didn't realize he was only a couple of miles from where I live! I don't remember what all I ordered, except it includes 10 lbs of ground beef, a beef tongue, suet, and a bunch of beef soup bones. The cattle are grass fed and mostly organic and not much more expensive that if I bought regular feed lot beef at the store.

And that's about it for today, other than clearing up the living room. I've been doing a major decluttering job on my junk room, which has included moving stuff out to the living room to sort, since there isn't (wasn't) any room to do it in the junk room. So I have piles of mostly sorted stuff all over the living room. I know, I know. I should just handle everything once. But if I did that, I wouldn't have been in such a mess to begin with, now would I?

So, the laser eye surgery will not work for me. I am so bummed. My husband get to get it done. I am going to buy new frames at least. Not much going on today, just the grocery store and some waxing.
