Nana, the threads about what people are eating are still here, though only a few of us post there.

I was never on cholesterol medication to begin with, though my cholesterol was considered borderline high. It's not any more. My HDL was in the 90s last time it was checked, and triglycerides were 29.

I just stopped taking my cholesterol meds last summer. I was already down to one Lovastatin pill every other day. So basically, diet and weight loss.

Most days I post my meals on the threads here, and my trackers are shared. I eat eggs and applesauce ( 4 ozs. ) for breakfast. Lunch and dinner are 1-1.5 lbs of meat with 2 cups of mushrooms, and 2 cups of onion, and a can of diced tomatoes, and I split it. Snacks are cheese or nuts. Every so often I add some beans, and cut the other veggies, usually having a chili. I am in Owl, moving up the ladder, and get about 55-60 net carbs a day.

Russell, the numbers are great except for the HDL being down. I suspect that this may be caused by a heart medication, but not sure. Does your cardiologist have an explanation?
Of course HDL is like LDL in that there are different types, one type that is more helpful than another. The fact that tri's are down so much I would consider the most important and really excellent news.

Wow! Those are amazing numbers. I agree - tell us your menu. Are people still posting what they are having for breakfast, lunch, and dinner? I miss seeing those if they are still coming out. I was on Cholosterol meds until we realized that the "statin" drug was killing my muscles, and i got off of the drug. We are in limbo right now, a new dr. is letting me wait to see if i can get my numbers down low enough that I don't need meds. I hear that people get off their meds after being on Atkins for a while. Praying that could be me too.

I just got tested and here are the numbers versus August 24, 2012:

Total: 105 down from 142
LDL: 53 down from 72
HDL: 26 down from 33 emoticon
tris: 128 down from 197

My doctor said the HDL will naturally be higher in the summer. I was hoping to get it close to 40. Everything else seems to be great though, and my doctor think it is no big deal. She told me to just continue exercising, and lose more weight. Only thing she said I could do different is have a glass of wine 2-3 times a week, but I do not drink alcohol.
