I use the Spark nutrition food counts - I have adjusted it to show the totals that I want. In my "favorites" I've put foods that I use "net carbs" for. At the end of the day, I go to the summary page and it will give me the calories, fat, carb, protein and fiber which I've programmed it to do. Then it will give me my percentages of total calories for the day too - and I keep those totals written down in a date book. Just the number of grams and the percentage of total calories each is.

I've never had "them" re-adjust anything I've put down.

Look for the ingredients that don't have a person's name next to them. But even those you should double check. Found errors for pork tenderloin last night. Also, folks make all kinds of errors on those they enter or as you say they only enter calories. Misspelling too! (me included!) Avacado, Avocado.........

But overall once you get Spark set up it's good to go, I like the groupings too and the copy foods feature.

I am starting my ticker again since starting low carb....in the home strech!

The Spark tracker will give you the ratio by clicking on the "See Today's Full Report" button near the bottom.

Be aware that SP has a tendency to reset some of your "goal" figures periodically. ;) Somehow my calories keep creeping down!

Thanks!! I'm just learning this thing :) I know it's too much to ask, but do any of them calculate the carb/protein/fat ratios as well as nutrition facts?

Find the one you like for what you eat and add them to favorites. The ones that have no carbs listed were probably entered by someone who was only watching calories. I always double check the nutrition list before I use it to make sure it looks like what I think it will. I also make up food groupings of things that I eat regularly. It saves time, like if you eat the same thing for breakfast you can just make that a grouping. Also it is helpful to create recipes of things that you made up and it figures the nutritional info and saves it so you can use it over and over. You just have to make it work for you and it does pretty well.

Thanks....I guess I'll just have to view them as guidelines lol....for example, when I put in 1 avocado I am getting several different results. Some of them only have calories listed.....

At best all of them are merely estimates anyway. "More of what you'd call 'guidelines' than actual rules..." I'd say to use the one that takes you the least amount of time/you are most compliant with.

If you're not eating much processed food then the numbers should come out pretty close. It's mostly prepared foods that you have to watch out for.

Personally I like the Spark nutrition tracker. It is fairly easy to just subtract the fiber from the carbs and in the reports part of it, it is very easy to see the percentages of fat, carbs and protein. You can also change the settings as to what your nutritional goals are.

Hey everyone!

I have been working on tracking my carb/protein/fat ration but whether I use sparkpeople, myfitnesspal, livestong, dailyburn, whatever - I always get several results with different numbers!! Can someone point me to the best way/place to track my foods?

Thanks! :)
