At the bottom right on the food tracker there is a button that says "See todays full report". click on that and at the bottom of that page there is a pie chart. I think it is very helpful.

Someplace SP gives a pie chart of the percentages of fat, protein and carbs you've listed on your food tracker. Anyone know where it is?

Ok, Suzanne, that's what I'm trying to do is balance this so my blood sugar isn't so high, and so that I lose weight. I can't eat as much protein as I had been I believe. I think it's causing me to stall.

I eat ok for a few days and then I have terrible cravings. all I want to do is eat. I'm so tired of this urge to eat constantly. and it's not like I can say ok,, I'll go try another diet. with diabetes, this is the only real way to live, and with the allergies I have also, I'm eating a version of primal, I guess.

Thamks Maw, that's what I was asking. how to judge if I'm accomplishing what I set out to do.

Ok, yesterday is how I've been eating for the last 4 or 5 days. I guess it isn't really a fat fast, though that's what I started out trying for. today I've also recorded so far.

Kiitty, what the tracker is showing you is grams, not calories. The fat fat percentages are based on calories, not grams.

No, I'm not really starving, in that I don't record my evening meals. by the time I've cooked it, my hubby has commandeered the computer and I lose the will to fight for it. I'll go try to remember what I ate yesterday so you can see what I really ate.

Kitty, if your food tracker is accurate, no wonder you're starving. You ARE starving. I think the fat fast is supposed to be around 1000 calories per day, and I've never heard that it should be a once a day thing.

The fat fast is to break a stall, you are not stalled. You need to eat a good healthy low carb diet without cheating.

I don't know maw, it's whatever is on the tracker. when I enter it, it's nearly equal fat and protein. but it doesn't say if it's grams or calories. it just says 16 fat and 17 protein.
that's why I'm asking.

I understand the THEORY behind the fat fast but it's sure hard to follow. I'm hungry all the time, and if I'm eating to much protein, that's what I'm trying to get away from because when I eat to much protein I don't loose weight.

I mean up to now I've eating a Chicken thigh and drumstick or three eggs for a meal and I need to change that because I don't loose weight that way.

I can drop a pound a day if I do this fat fast every day but I eat a large evening meal cause I get so hungry. I'd rather have it spaced out over the day for my blood sugar's sake, but even this is lowering it some.

I can't eat dairy, but I have been eating at least a half an avocado a day, with small amount of romaine greens. one to 1-1/2 cups. I used to eat a whole head of romaine. but this seems to be working if I measure it out.

When you say that the protein and fat numbers are the same , do you mean number of grams or number of calories? It makes a difference, because a gram of fat has 9 calories and gram of protein has 4 calories. So if the grams are equal at, say, 10 grams, you've got 130 calories, of which almost 70 percent are fat. That's a lot closer to what you were expecting.

A couple of links for you Kitty:

There is also a thread on the Low Carb Friends board about the fat fast - folks who are doing HCG along with the FF. You may find some more menu ideas there.

I did the fat fast for a couple days but I did modify it a little. I did 75% fat (sometimes more), 15% protein, 10% carb and aimed for 1200 calories. I was working out and burning anywhere from 500 -900 calories so figured these numbers better suited me. I did drop 4 lbs in 3 days.

Some of my go to's:

avocados - particularly good with either tuna or chicken mixed with mayo in it.
Macadamia nuts (whats not to love)
Pork rinds with cream cheese (softened the cream cheese in the microwave so I could easily dip/spread)
ounce of sausage with an egg
shirataki noodles with cream cheese and sausage
romaine lettuce salad with olives, shredded cheese and avocados with full fat dressing
bacon (no brainer)
tea or coffee with heavy cream

I like living. I have sometimes been wildly, despairingly, acutely miserable, racked with sorrow, but through it all I still know quite certainly that just to be alive is a grand thing. Agatha Christie

On the fat fast you eat fat foods, not protein. Macadamia nuts and cream cheese pretty much top the list. Sausage and egg is way too much protein. You might be able to get away with egg yolks, not sure what the mix is there.

The fat fast is not an adequate diet for nutrition, the idea is to kick you into ketosis if you're particularly resistant. It's only meant to be done for a few days.

I'm having a real time loosing weight cause I'm so carb addicted so I'm trying the fat fast.
so I read somewhere online that an oz of sausage and an egg equals one meal.

but when I record it then the protein numbers and the fat numbers are the same, not 80-90 precent fat and 10-20 percent protein like I understood it should be. so what am I doing wrong? or is this right? thanks for any help clarifying this. Kitty
