No, not really. A few companies touted their products as low carb, but they really weren't.

You'd need to do something like Oopsie rolls (made with eggs) or use non-wheat based flours, like flax or almond meal.

I don't usually snack, but when I got home I was hungry. Or at least wanted to eat. I think I could have cleaned out the fridge if I hadn't been careful! I think the sausages that Mom served me with eggs for lunch must have had sugar in them.

Anyway, I finished off half a lamb chop left from last night, scraped the last of the drippings out of the pan I'd cooked the lamb chop in, had a bit of bacon grease that was left in the pan, then gave up and just had a tea with heavy whipping cream and splenda. Tea with HWC and splenda usually curbs the munchies for me. I used my fancy teapot and tea cup and drank my tea with my pinky extended!

Aldi just came out with a great Greek yogurt dip with dill and cucumber. Sounds like a great fit with some celery sticks!

what I found for me personally, and mileage varies here from person to person is that if one eats enough and properly, a snack is never needed.

but what I found is 'mind hunger' in that old days I would eat to just eat :)

longer and longer changing my ways means I see things way so different and eating a certain way means I don't need 'extra' at all to survive

I don't snack much anymore, though this past week or so I've been eating a lot of hard boiled eggs with mayo. I've been taking a lot of ibuprofin and tylenol and like to have at least a little something in my tummy first.

Hard boiled egg with mayo. Cheese. Tea with cream and splenda. Those are my go-to snacks when I do snack.

Brought some black olives with me today. I don't often crave salty snacks, but I'm a little dehydrated, maybe that's why they looked so good this morning? Yum!

my only reply to a snack (NOW SINCE I changed my eating) IS SO NOT have one :)
eat a meal. simple as that. We snack cause we are hungry, and if hungry a 'snack' mostly never gives us satisfaction. It never has me but your mileage may vary on that of course. if wanting a snack to me mealn you are not eating enough at meals.
A snack is nothing but a sugar high and crash effect!
Snack is what 'lil debbie and others came up with' to make ya eat more than ever needed. In that the 'advertising' got to get ya to eat what they make :) SO IN the long run snacking is useless, eat a real meal to make ya happy!

Perhaps we could get some food pics along with these recipes since you eat with your eyes before anything else. As a Carnivore Foodie, I'd love to see a plate of food and think "wow that looks yummy. I want to try that". I don't think you need to be a food stylist to share, just have a camera and the courage to post your meal to the world. Ok, maybe not the world, just all of us here in our little corner of recipes.

1) Unwrap a 10 oz package of cream cheese and place in a Tupperware bowl.
2) Shred two packages of artificial crab legs on top and around the cream cheese.
3) Smother in a full 24 oz bottle of Pace Picante Sauce or similar.

Let sit for a few hours for the Picante sauce to absorb the flavors.
Serve with Pork Rinds, Rice crackers or your own favorite low carb cracker.

I find all of this stuff at Aldi, and I eat (part of) it as a meal.

High protein, high fat, low carb!

Coconut milk strawberry ice cream. I don't have an ice cream maker so I just threw it all in the blender (minus the banana), then poured into single serve bowls with lids and froze them.

Bumped - so you can add what you're eating today!

Caveat for newbies - this thread was started about a year ago as a place for people to post what they were actually eating. We get requests for this sort of thing every now and again, sometimes from newbies and sometimes from old hands at low carb who are getting in a rut. Anyway, people posted what they really ate, and it wasn't always on plan. Please take this into consideration as you read these menus. If something seems wrong, it may be! Please, please, please - if you see something that doesn't seem right, ask us about it BEFORE you eat it! It may be just fine - pork rinds with butter are OK. Or it may not be - candy bars, for example.

I hope you can find some new and interesting things to try and that you get some good ideas for ways to adjust your current eating to this new way of eating.

Mix chocolate whey protein with almond breeze unsweetened almond coconut milk.

About 10 carbs and almost 30 grams of protein.

Potato salad! You're killing me here! lol I love potato salad and just the thought of it has me salivating! lol Naypoole, you have to change that snack to a low carb one. Take the potatoes out! lol You can do it!!!

I grabbed a cheese stick and a slim jim on the way out the door, but only ate 1 cheesestick and some very low carb white cheddar pieces I had gotten from Netrition.com.

I DO admit to having 2 Girl Scout Thin mint cookies this afternoon as well (10 carbs) Ugh! So, see, I too have trouble sometimes. lol

Well, as long as it's working a little, it shows you are trying! And,that's great! It will get easier as time goes by. The macadamia nuts are a good snack. As a matter of fact, I had some tonight! I enjoy them and you can have about 27 of them for only 2 carbs! Yum!

Thanks for the info! I'll try that. BTW, are apples and fun-size M&Ms on your low carb eating? lol I noticed that you had listed that as a snack before. Or are you way past the Induction phase?

May snack today is: 1 string cheese & some pork rinds w/a bit of sour cream

I found that they'd changed my email preferences again. I wasn't getting any emails, and no notifications of anything. Had to change them back. This happens about twice a year.

Not low carb, alas, but since I'm doing my tracking here, here it is.

Fun size pack of M&M's.

Well, I didn't have what I thought I was going to have because I was out most of the day. Didn't have any snacks with me. So, no snacks today.

For Wednesday, the 27th, I will probably have a couple of string cheeses, maybe some cream cheese w/grn olives, hard boiled egg, and/or a Slim Jim.

I don't do well with snacks. I know people say to eat something with lots of fat and/or protein if you're hungry between meals, but if I eat anything, my head and my tummy (mostly my head) expect a full meal's worth of food. So I almost never snack. Wish I "could," though, sometimes.

The only snack I do well with is tea. Sometimes I'll make a pot of tea in an old teapot I have, and drink it out of one of the matching cups that is so thin you can see your fingers through it without even holding it up to the light. Or one of my crystal teacups. Something special like that. One pot makes about 4 teacups of tea. Just tea with a bit of liquid splenda. Or in the evening when I really really really want to eat, a cup of tea or herbal tea with splenda and cream or coconut milk is usually enough to get rid of the cravings. I drink that out of a big mug.

Thursday morning! Good morning, everyone! I'm not sure what snacks I will eat today yet. Depends on what my mouth has a hunger for! lol Mid-morning will probably be 1 stalk of celery(0.6Carbs) w/a dip of sour cream(1) or 2 cheddar cracker sticks(2carbs). The rest of the day I might reach for some pepperoni slices(no carbs), BBQ pork rinds, pickles, grn olives w/cr ch.
