We were at Cape Canaveral 2 days after the shuttle launch a few years ago. We got to walk out to the track and see the deep roller tracks and everything. It was so cool, because though we had seen it take off on TV, we had no idea of how huge it is and how far away you have to really be when it takes off. Truly is amazing what human beings can accomplish.

We watched on TV as it was leaving Edwards Air Force Base. We live only about 50 miles from there and if we had been home may have seen it. But I was on my way to work which is south of there. I was hoping it would fly over us on it's way back from San Fransico but I have a feeling it will be flying along the coast as it comes into the Los Angeles area. We are inland a bit so probably will not see it. I wouls love to see it move through the streets of the city as it goes to its finally destination to the museum.

So I have to say I was just in the nurses lounge here at work (I work in the hospital in the surgery center) and there were bagels and cream cheese. I wanted them so bad. It is one of my favorite things and one of my worst trigger foods. If I have one I have to have three. I actually looked in the bag and smelled the onion and garlic and walked away. Got my hot water for coffee and went to the doctor's lounge got 2 sausage links and some strawberries. Came back and made some instant coffee.

I wasn't sure if my tummy problems were from the heavy cream in my coffee but so far today I think I am good. I had drank some Walmart brand crystal light "energy" mixed in my water for the last couple of days. I really like it but I think it is not good for me. No more of that.

Faith, it could definitely be the sweeteners. I packed a couple of fake Atkins bars (Aldi brand) to take with me to jury duty 2 weeks ago, had one mid-morning and one late afternoon and by the drive home felt like I was going to explode!! By bedtime I felt better, but YUCK!

Faith, I remember going up to Edwards Air Force, I think it was (Mojave desert), to watch the shuttle land, back when I lived in So Cal. It was really far away, for safety, but it sure was exciting!

Have fun!

Hi everyone, I don't have much to say but I am staying on track. Felt sick much of the day yesterday with some digestive track stuff going on. This happens kind of frequently. Not sure if it is something that I am eating. Need to stay clean, I guess. Like no artificial sweeteners, etc.

I also see that I need to get out and exercise more now that I have two new knees. Going to try to walk outside today if it isn't too screaming hot.

Also hope to maybe see the space shuttle as it comes back into the Southern Ca area.

Gotta go check it out. It could be soon.

WOUBBS: We paid off our business card yrs ago, and won't use them anymore. Same with personal.

I do keep a personal credit card for emergencies, but that is it. We pay cash/debit card for everything. and feel loads more secure doing this. I admit, it was tough at first, but we feel much freer.

But like you, we don't know any other business that does this. We're small (about £100k turnover a year, which is about $162k in US dollars), so every penny counts. And worse, over HERE, interest rates for cards are OBSCENE!

Raining now, but had the dogs out for nearly a half hour. I got too cold to stay longer. BRRRR

It feels like it was a busy and hectic day, but it was, in actuality, more hectic. I'm kinda tired.

And as it's nearly 6 pm, I am soon going to go off the computer... as soon as I do a little bookkeeping paperwork.

G'nite all!

Debb :)

My wildly exciting weekend plans include working tomorrow in a client's office (while her business is closed), and doing laundry. Might watch a movie too! LOL

I'm having a MIM for breakfast too - did a short dog walk (they think they're exhausted), and after dropping the boys at the groomer, I'm going to stroll around town with a friend and go out to lunch. Sounds like a day off, eh?? :)

No big plans for this weekend, but I really need to sit down and make nice with our budget. We have some remodeling we'd like to do and we have too many small payments that chew up our cash flow every month, so I'm thinking about a 12 month loan through the credit union to knock them all off. Our school tax is due as well, so I'd like to also get that off the list.

We're probably also going to refinance our larger debts with an equity loan soon, so I should get my little duckies in a row for that too. DH's goofy company is still teetering on a knife edge and he's looking at a much better position a lot closer to home, so we'd need to do any refinancing BEFORE he changes jobs. (Anyone who says "government should be run like a business" should clarify that and say "like a GOOD business". In my experience most businesses (large or small, public or private) don't know their bleep from a hole in the ground.)

Have a great Friday and a wonderful weekend, all!

Good Morning All!

Neighborhood garage sale started yesterday and goes through Sat. I found a wonderful solid oak 42" round kitchen table w/6 Windsor chairs and 1 leaf. I sent my daughter pics and she said, "Yes, Yes, Yes!" I delivered it last night and it looks great in their kitchen.

With the weather turning cooler this week, I've been on a soup kick. Shrimp Bisque, Chicken Soup, and Chili. Yum!

No weekend plans here, Deb. Just Farmers Market first thing Saturaday, then working at the library all day. Probably church and Sunday School Sunday morning, maybe going out with some friends for lunch afterwards.

Congratulations on giving away those pounds! And Congratulations to your neighbor, too, Debbie!

I couldn't think of anything that sounded good to have for breakfast, so had a MIM. I didn't want to use any sweetener, so added a tablespoon or so of dried unsweetened coconut and a teaspoon of cocoa, used coconut oil instead of butter, and poured some coconut milk over the top of it to make it sort of like a hot cereal with milk. It would have been better, of course, with sweetener and butter and heavy cream, but it was ok.

Have a great day and a great weekend! Are you all ready for Fall to start officially tomorrow?

Lovely to "hear" about your neighbour, Debbie! Send him regards from the UK! :)

And you're right about the strips -- I can't be bothered now; I feel as if I wasted my money. SIGH Oh well.

Have a super weekend!

Well, here we are -- Friday already!

I had my weigh in -- 3 more pounds given away. :) So, even though my Ketones are not registering on those strips I just bought, I must be doing it right. :)

Just had some macadamia nut butter on cucumber slices. YUMMM it hit the spot.

Will have bacon and eggs later for lunch, and monkfish (poor man's lobster) dipped in butter with salad and mayo for dinner.

I had the dogs out for our a.m. walk and have nearly finished ebay packing. Then on to the phone orders, and then accounting paperwork catch-up.

Drizzly out today, but that's okay. Our garden needs the water.

Anyone have weekend plans?

Debb
