I use unsweetened vanilla almond milk. Half a cup is 1 gram carbs.

that works for you, XA. I guess I am like LMB, I love heavy cream, but half and half will work if I have not other options...the first time I subsitituted, then tracked, I almost had heart failure when I found the carb level...And, if the only option is powdered creamer, I will drink it black or skip it altogether.

I prefer heavy cream too. But I'll use half and half if it's the only thing available. I don't like the non-dairy creamers. They have too many carbs and I don't like the way they taste. They are gritty to me.

I will also pour in a little vanilla extract, or some SF Torani or DaVinci. We're working through a bottle of SF hazelnut right now. The cream, vanilla and hazelnut all mixed together is really good.

I accidently made myself a flavored creamer. I put some cinnamon and vanilla extract in with cream to use on my berries at work. I ran out of regular half and half, so I poured some in my coffee...wow, delish!

I read on the atkins website that some use the atkins shakes as a creamer, I tried that and it tastes pretty good

Also, if you have a Costco nearby, they sell a 3 pack of almond milk.

Nutmeg: I will have the try the coconut milk in the can. I have some of that. I hate that the coconut milk in the carton just tastes like water.

Great - thanks for the info. I've been using the non-dairy creamer and I don't like the taste of heavy cream (or texture - not sure what it is exactly that i don't like). I'm going to give almond milk a try.

Yep, right next to the milk and soy milk, in the dairy section. :)

Ive never bought the almond milk but I think I have seen it with the creamers. Our grocery store is small but it was w/the eggs and creamers..hope that helps!!

Beth - do you get unsweetened almond milk at your regular grocery store? If so, where would it be in the store?

I've been using unsweetened almond milk. Cannot remember the carb content, but the unsweetened is very very low. I like the nutty taste and the fact that since it is not dairy, it does not make me bloated.

I only use heavy whipping cream. However, when I make latte's, I dilute it with water to make it more like regular milk. Not sure if that is an option, but thought I would mention it.

Personally I use half and half. Make sure if you use it you buy the full fat and not lowfat versions. I like Land of Lakes brand or Knudsen. It is more costly but tastes so much better in the coffee.

Hi Everyone,

I know that the heavy whipping cream is a low carbers dream creamer - but it gives me a terrible stomach ache.

I really want to stay away from the "coffee mate" creamers, as they are loaded with the hydrogenated oils.

Has anyone found a low carb coffee creamer that's hydrogenated oil free AND tastes good?

Thanks!
